You’re absolutely right that Jenny Packham is overrated! Especially for eveningwear! I love some of Kate’s JP gowns but they tend to blur together because she’s worn so many similar styles. Custom day dresses are better (the blue dress she wore when arriving in Canada in 2016 is an all-time favorite of mine) but I am begging Kate to experiment with another go-to designer.
Yes! You're on the Christmas card list haha. I really liked JP at first. Her creations for Kate in the early years of the marriage weren't the most groundbreaking things ever but they were really beautiful, amongst my favourite things Kate has ever worn. The teal at the Olympic gala. And then this one as well:
This is probably a good example to focus on because it's sequins. It's the JP playbook. But I love it. I think the fabric looks incredibly expensive. The way the sequins are laid down it almost creates a new textile. It feels like animal skin. The way it gathers at the waist gives the outfit a really beautiful kind of hourglass silhouette. And then the puff of tulle at the sleeve softens the metallic of the gown.
Compare that to this:
To me this feels like Jenny Packham's student collection. It's the same idea - sequins, mesh, very feminine - but the sequins look cheaper to me. The mesh looks really thin. And I don't know what the sequins are trying to do. It's like she takes a basic Debenhams gown, covers it in glue, rolls it around in a pile of sequins and sells it for more than I earn in a month.
There genuinely are a lot of Jenny pieces I absolutely love. Even in the modern era. But I personally think that for the prices she sells her pieces at and the love they get, she's overrated. Her earlier work felt considered, like she had a vision and a purpose, and her textiles felt more expensive. Now I just feel like so much of it looks shoddy and slapdash. And if Kate insists on wearing sequins and mesh she could go to Needle and Thread and get something that in my opinion looks just as high quality and is a fraction of the price:

You know Kate already has that gold one in her wardrobe
https://x.com/molllyelizabeth/status/1707469741021974878?s=46
There’s so a lilac/lavender one in this model that it wouldn’t surprise me if Kate has. It’s gorgeous but more of the same when it comes to JP (it’s look 1):

Look 8 is my favorite in this collection
Ooh I love so many of these looks but you are right the 8th is the amazing, another one for me is no.10 (the white one posted on twitter) Thanks for sharing this anon, I hadn't seen them yet.

Catherine's Statement Gown
Now that BAFTAs this year are over and the question many of us were waiting to see has been answered -- what will Catherine wear -- I want to comment on her white Jenny Packham evening gown which has shown up on two different BAFTA awards now.
h/t @the-empress-7 for this tweet pic
BAFTA 2019:
This and the James Bond premiere gold dress are Catherine's top regal looks IMO. I remember thinking she looked like an Empress walking with William up the red carpet but especially down into the auditorium. The Duke/Duchess of Cambridge were announced, the curtain at top of steps opened and the BAFTA audience went silent as she glided down the steps, head high. Why? #Empress vibes. William walked slightly behind her most of the way and just let her shine. Princess Grace of Monaco is the only other royal I can recall with this level of beauty/presence, and on this occasion Catherine out-Graced even Grace Kelly. Have a look:
youtube
I watched some of their other BAFTA arrival clips to refresh my memory, and 2019 was different. BAFTAs were in February 2019, and as we learned early March 2019, rumors had been circling in society alleging William was having an affair. Catherine reminded everyone she was the one and only royal Duchess of Cambridge, with her Duke smiling beside her and at her back all the way.
BAFTA 2023:
This time Catherine wore the re-worked Jenny Packham white gown as Princess of Wales. Social media accounts concerned Catherine was spending too much on new clothing hopefully welcomed her choice. (Shoutout to @honeytothebee and @the-empress-7 whose Tumblr posts always manage to comment on Catherine's wardrobe and the Wales family with wit and wisdom without sounding like either critics or sycophants. Ladies, you are a pleasure to read.)
Her ensemble has been analyzed in other threads, so I''ll just note that Catherine's 2023 look reflected an evolving chic personal style and was on trend.

Top 15 worst gowns worn by the Duchess of Cambridge
Here we go! Time to be controversial (my best gowns are more controversial but that doesn’t matter) @claireofluxembourg @lizisbackbackagain @anna8910 @queensonjas
15. Beulah London Juliet Dress (2016)
I actually quite like this dress but it’s just not quite there. I think it’s the weird part under the boobs and above the waist that makes it bad? Maybe it’s the neckline? Maybe it’s just the worst version of this type of dress she has.
14. Amanda Wakeley Gown (2011)
I want to like it but the weird boob harness makes it really hard. The fact this was a last minute stand in makes me want to know what this dress was for. Did Kate already have it? Was it for the military awards and brought forward? Did she buy this for personal use? Also, the skirt goes into strange pleats at the bottom and I’m not a fan.
13. Sequinned Jenny Packham Gown (2013)
I like the sparkles. A lot. Kate should do gold and sparkles more often. However, this dress comes with those little underarm patches, which ruins it. It’s like Jenny Packham was making the dress and ran out of time to finish it off.
12. Erdem Stephanie Gown in Winterbourne Print (2018)
It’s a curtain. It’s not the worst curtain she’s ever worn but it’s bad. I oddly like the colour but not with the arm ruffles and the ruffle at the bottom and the neck ruffles and the ruffle between the boobs. There’s a ribbon belt which I’ve never noticed before but makes the dress even worse. Imagine what we could have had here. An Ida Sjöstedt dress. Imagine.
11. Alexander McQueen Hibiscus-motif Gown (2012/2020)
Remember when I was obsessed with this back in 2012? When I saw it at the BAFTAs, little 15/6 year old Grace was LIVING. Looking with fresh eyes, however, really put a dampner on that. It’s culturally appropriative. It has another strange boob harness. It has another strange piping thing down the middle of the skirt. I will accept that the sleeves are better this time.
10. Alexander McQueen Velvet Gown (2011)
I’m going to be exiled for this choice. I just don’t like velvet that much. I hate the neckline. I don’t like the jewel choice. If you look from the waist down, it looks like Kate’s hiding behind a curtain. I just don’t get the love for this monstrosity.
9. Alexander McQueen Lace Gown (2019)
It’s daring. It’s sort of different. It didn’t work. She looks naked. It looks like she found some lace and just threw it on over her naked body. The underskirt blends in with her skin too much and makes the lace stand out. The fact the lace comes together in the middle keeps dragging my attention back to areas I should not be looking at on a lady. As soon as I saw it, I just knew what people would say.
8. Jenny Packham Gown (2014)
I can see why people like it. But I don’t. It’s like Jenny Packham had made a dress and Kate bought it and then someone told her it was too short so they had to sew some more fabris on it. It’s like a wrap dress with another dress underneath it. I also always forget this dress exists.
7. Temperley London Black Lace Gown (2012/2013)
This is the boring version of the McQueen dress from above. She also wore this more than once really close together and I want to see new dresses please and thanks KMiddy. This is the dress with the infamous “crotch arrow” and I can’t see it but I can’t unhear it.
6. Jenny Packham Beaded Gown (2017)
Kate has like 8 versions of the gown and yet this is the worst one and it’s the one she wore last. Rewear a good one next time. It’s shapeless and dull and there are too many beads but the beads aren’t good. I hate the sleeves. I have the translucent overlay that is longer than the blue slip.
5. Jenny Packham Green Lace Gown (2017)
I have never been more disappointed when she walked out in this dress. It was lace. Again. It was green, which should have been good but nope. If she hadn’t worn a lace dress every other day since her wedding day, this would have been a good dress, but it has to cope under the weight of all my expectations and it couldn’t carry them.
4. Erdem Christina Blue Velvet Bell Sleeve Dress (2018)
This is worse than the yellow Erdem. It’s so much worse. I hate velvet and this dress is velvet dialled up to the max. It’s shiny and I just know it would feel awful to touch. Why is there a blue velvet ruffle at the base? Why are there bell sleeves? Bell sleeves and ruffles is not a good mix. Kate went to Sweden and wore ugly gowns. Nothing redeems this dress.
3. Green Jenny Packham Gown (2018)
Kate has almost this exact same dress in inky blue. She could have worn that. She’d already worn it while pregnant. But no, she thought, let’s buy that dress in a bad shade of green. This was also the infamous “wear black” year and I might have hated the theme but she literally wore black in 2017. She has an inky blue version of this dress. Inky blue is closer to black than green is. If she was going to wear green, she should have stuck to her guns and not including the black belt. Is she about to give us a karate demonstration? No one knows.
2. Blue Beaded Jenny Packham “Saree” Dress (2016/2020)
This dress is ugly and also culturally appropriative. I wondered if the appropriation was the reason I didn’t like it but it didn’t get any better the second time she wore it. Also, the earrings she wore with this dress are the ugliest things I’ve ever seen and need to be destroyed, immediately.
1. Hideous Prom-Dress Inspired Alexander McQueen Gown (2018)
Iconic for being bad is still iconic, right? It looks like it needs ironing and that’s coming from someone who is anti-ironing. The bodice looks like it’s been made out of tissue paper and then the rest of the top part looks like when someone’s painting one of those awful textured ceilings. The dropped waist skirt is the worst thing I’ve ever scene. The fact the dropped waist congregates in a point. This was the first time we saw her order and it was ruined by the dress.

Celebrating 10 Years of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge
My favorite Catherine looks throughout the last decade.
2011
The Wedding
29 April, 2011 Westminster Abbey, London
Catherine's wedding dress was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Featuring a 9-foot train, the lace designs include roses, thistles, daffodils and shamrocks, representing the national flowers of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, respectively.
Catherine's "something borrowed" was the Cartier Halo tiara, which features 888 diamonds and was lent for the occasion by Her Majesty, The Queen.
I adore her little giggle after their kiss. Both seem giddy in love!
Catherine's dress for the reception was also McQueen. I love this, and really do dig the angora shrug and the diamante belt. I wish there were pictures of the private reception!
ARK Charity 10-Year Gala
9th June 2011 Perk's Field, Kensington Palace
This was the Cambridge's first event as a married couple, and they were the guests of honor. ARK is an international charity that transforms children’s lives. Catherine wore a pearlescent rose sequin gown with Swarovski crystal by British designer Jenny Packham. Guests were entertained by a team of Speedo-clad Mexican divers performing an acrobatic routine!
This was the picture that stopped me in my tracks. How stunning Catherine is! Pink complements her complexion perfectly. I think this is my favorite look for her of all time.
Shake your head, darling. Catherine is the cutest!
Calgary Stampede Parade
8th of July 2011 Calgary, Alberta, Canada
On the last day of the Canada leg of their North American tour, Will and Catherine opened the Calgary Stampede. Catherine wore the Temperly London Rodeo Blouse, Goldsign jeans, and a turquoise-detailed Butler and Wilson belt. She always shines in white!
BAFTA "Brits to Watch" Event
9 July, 2011 Belasco Theatre Los Angeles, California, USA
Catherine wore a lilac silk Alexander McQueen Grecian gown with a diamante belt (perhaps the same belt from her wedding reception gown?) I love the way the cut flows from the neckline and how the lilac shade flatters her skin tone. Very elegant!
Cheers! There are SO many other amazing gowns and dresses that Catherine wore in 2011 (and every year thereafter.) This is just a taste of my absolute favorites. The blush Jenny Packham gown she wore at the ARK charity gala has to be my all-time favorite!
What are your favorite Catherine fashion moments? Do share, as I'm putting together more of my favorites and would love to know what you think. More to come!

Hi! I adore your blog and all the dresses you post! I was wondering, since you seem to be doing a lot of asks, if you could do one with your favourite night sky/starry gowns??
Thank you so much! I have so many celestial inspired gowns I love and I’m lucky because you’re not the only one who asked for this! Some of these are literal, like Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2015 collection and others just give me that starry night vibe. But these are by far my top night sky gowns.

sorry for the dash spam but i figured in the absence of actual runway content i would reblog my favorite met ball looks. i think there are so many people who attend this event and so many who ignore the brief that it’s easy to forget how many people do actually try! almost everyone i’m reblogging either wore an american designer or did an on-theme interpretation with another designer, which is really cool.
christian siriano did post a snarky tweet about how many french designers dressed people, and he’s not wrong! i was stunned at how few sirianos there were (only one that i’m aware of and sadly i didn’t like it much) as well as pyer moss (he just did a couture show!!), moschino, pamella roland, jenny packham, ralph lauren, calvin klein, etc. it’s pretty shocking. :(

The Duchess of Cambridge’s outfits to throw on the burn pile (as requested by @trhcambridge-wales) Part 3/3
For this ask, I decided to stick with outfits that Kate has worn in an official capacity. She has more that I dislike, but these are ones I really hate.
1. Dolce and Gabbana dress: I don’t always love Kate’s lace, but I don’t usually hate it. This dress, however, makes me feel claustrophobic. The high neck and the sleeves - it just looks so uncomfortable.
2. Alexander McQueen gown: This gown reminds me of something Diana would have worn in the 80′s only worse. It’s just so ugly.
3. Missoni coat: This reminds me of those weird pictures you’re supposed to stare at until you see a picture or a shape or something. It’s just bad.
4. Jenny Packham gown: I don’t know where to start with this. I love sparkle, but there are just waaaay too many of these crystals or whatever on this gown. And then some of them are in clusters...I think. Then there’s the fact that the overskirt is longer than the lining, which makes the whole thing look incomplete to me. I actually think this is worse than the 80′s Diana gown. At least that one doesn’t hurt my eyes.
5. Alice by Temperley: I don’t hate this, hate this. I just really don’t like it. I’m not sure why. I just don’t.
6. Erdem dress: I don’t like the print. I don’t like the bell sleeves. I don’t like the ruffle at the bottom. The only thing I like about this dress is the color.
7. Jenny Packham dress and coat: I like this dress in theory. It’s the execution I hate. It just looks really cheap to me.
8. Marks and Spencer suit: I waited so long for my girl to wear a pant suit, and then she delivers this. Something about the proportions feels off to me. I’m not exactly sure what it is. I wanted to see a crisp, well-tailored power suit.

If you have time, would you do a styling session for Kate’s red plaid dress today? I know you would’ve put her in something chic and youthful and sophisticated.
Sure! I feel like Catherine really shines in simple outfits and they make her youthfulness show. She also has a beautiful figure and I think she sometimes wears outfits that don't accentuate that as well. My biggest gripe with Catherine's outfits is how she tends to wear an outfit that she has 10 different versions of or ones that are the same exact style (cough cough Alessandra Rich cough cough). She has so many dresses that I'd love for her to wear again because they deserve to see the light of day again. Also, thanks for the compliment, I really don't know much about fashion so I'm surprised so many people like what I put together! 💕
I love this Jenny Packham dress so much, it's a very flattering shape, the yellow is summery and I am a sucker for lace. I would probably keep the accessories the same except for the bag which I would switch with the Alexander McQueen Wicca bag and I'd pick her trusty Gianvito Rossi nude heels.
Thanks for the request!

Diplomatic Corps Reception Through the Years
In preparation for the Diplomatic Corps Reception on the 11th of December this year, I’m going to walk down memory lane to see Kate’s sartorial style at these white tie events over the years and drool over the jewelry. I’ll be focusing on the Diplomatic Corps Reception only (DCR), not state banquets. Things are going to be a little jumbled as Kate often rewore her gowns in those first few years and we hardly ever got pictures inside the reception until these past two years or so.
2013
This was the Duchess of Cambridge’s first tiara event sine her wedding and I think Catherine surprised every one by NOT wearing her wedding tiara. For many royal brides the wedding tiara loaned from the Queen is their go-to tiara for many, many years. For example, Diana was only ever loaned the Lovers Knot. Sarah was given the York Tiara only. Sophie wore her wedding tiara for years before she was loaned another. So it was surprising but it was a pleasant surprise. Here Catherine is wearing the Lotus Flower tiara, a favorite of Princess Margaret. It’s a beautiful tiara to shift into after wearing the smaller Cartier Halo Tiara. The Lotus flower tiara is small and dainty yet with just enough height to give it some oompf.
Catherine paired the tiara with Chandelier drop earrings on loan from the Queen. There aren’t any good pictures of the dress (from 2013 at least) but it’s Alexander McQueen.
2015
In 2014, the Cambridges were in New York and missed the DCR. So we’re jumping ahead to 2015 where Kate wears the same dress with the first good picture of it but with another new tiara. I think every royal watcher collectively gasped when we saw she was wearing the Lovers Knot tiara. If I recall correctly, this was her first time wearing it. Even though she wore the same dress and that was a little disappointing, the jewelry more than made up for it.
With the tiara Catherine wore the Queen’s chandelier drop earrings and TWO diamond bracelets. You can hardly see it but she is in fact wearing a diamond bracelet on her right hand. I’m not sure which is on which hand but on one hand she’s wearing the Queen Mary Diamond Bar Choker bracelet, below.
And the other hand she’s wearing the Queen’s Wedding gift bracelet, a bracelet made from a tiara that belonged to Princess Alice of Battenburg that Phillip broke apart and rearranged.
2016
2016 was the first year we got a full shot of everyone at the DCR, a rare gift. Since you can’t really see Kate, here’s another shot zoomed in.
We have Catherine in the Lovers Knot tiara again, diamond pendant earrings on loan from the Queen, and it looks like the bracelet is the Queen’s Wedding gift bracelet. The red dress is Jenny Packham and is a rewear from the State Banquet for China in 2015.
2017
We did not get full shots inside the DCR in 2017 which was a bummer because I STILL want to see this dress the DOC wore but it was reported the gown was Jenny Packham. For jewelry, Catherine pulled out the Lovers Knot tiara again and paired it with Diana’s Collingwood pearl earrings. But the show stopper this year was the diamond collet necklace on loan from the Queen. HMTQ has a few collet necklaces in her collection but the issue with these are, we never know which one someone is wearing because they’re literally just strands of diamonds and they all look alike. But it’s gorgeous and I would LOVE to see Catherine wear it again.
2018
2018 was my favorite year! Catherine literally LOOKS like a princess. This beautiful Cinderella dress is by Jenny Packham and pinned to it on a yellow ribbon is the Royal Family order. This marks the 2nd time Kate has ever worn it. Paired with the tiara are Diana’s Collingwood pearl earrings and it looks like Catherine is wearing Queen Mary’s Diamond Bar Choker bracelet. No ID on the bag, sorry. This is seriously my favorite white tie look of Catherine’s. In two days time we’ll see if she can top this look in my books.
Thanks for reading all! That’s a wrap on the DCR looks through the years.

KATIE’S 10 WORST EVENING GOWNS WORN BY THE DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE
10. Tory Burch: Private Dinner with the King and Queen of Bhutan, 14 April 2016
I don’t hate it, necessarily, but I am a little dizzy just looking at it. Those colors are not flattering together and the pattern is dizzying. I wouldn’t mind it as much if either the pattern or the colors toned it down it notch, but both are too busy for my taste. I’m also not a fan of the weird stripe detail going down her chest that joins with the belt. Finally, that shawl... I need sunglasses.
9. Alexander McQueen: BAFTAs, 12 February 2017
Again, I don’t hate it, but there’s too much going on here. Typical Erdem, I think. I wouldn’t mind the pattern if the skirt wasn’t tiered. Likewise, I wouldn’t mind the structure of the dress if the pattern was a bit simpler. The structure and the pattern together? Much too busy.
8. Jenny Packham: National Memorial Arboretum Appeal Reception at St. James’ Palace, 10 November 2011
This is just way too shiny. I’m all about sparkle, but this isn’t sparkly, it’s shiny. I’m usually a fan of the one-shoulder look too but that one short sleeve really swallows her torso. The whole thing actually just swallows her alive, and that belt doesn’t save her from it.
7. Alexander McQueen: Royal Variety Performance, 18 November 2019
I usually love all of Kate’s lace gowns (fight me) but this one was... not it. I’m not a fan of the velvet structuring in the bodice. I’m not a fan of the lace pattern in general. I also don’t like the hair down with this; I think it would have been more successful and less busy, especially with those massive statement earrings.
6. Gucci: 100 Women in Finance Gala at the Victoria & Albert Museum, 13 February 2019
Someone once said that this dress looks like a strip of raw bacon, and now that I’ve seen it, I can’t unsee it. The shape is fine and the colors aren’t bad but it literally looks like a piece of bacon. Plus, it’s Gucci. I just can’t.
5. Jenny Packham: Spectre Movie Premiere, 27 October 2015
A rare case of failed tailoring for Kate. I get what Jenny Packham was trying to accomplish here, but it didn’t work. The whole thing swallows her alive! The sleeves are too big and the cross detail in the front far too loose. I love the shoes, clutch, and belt, but the dress itself is just... so underwhelming. And big. Way, way too big.
4. Alexander McQueen: BAFTAs / Dinner with the King and Queen of Malaysia, 2 February 2020 / 13 September 2012
I hated this the first time around, and I hated it three times as much the second time around. it’s just too much. This has the weird bodice thing going on that the black lace McQueen does. The white and gold is way too much for one dress. And I hate the sleeves. I hate them.
3. Jenny Packham: Royal Variety Performance, 24 November 2017
Why, why, why are the crystals so big? Why?? This thing looks like a Disney princess dress-up gown in a little girl’s toy trunk. The sparkly-mesh mess of an overlay is way too big for the slip underneath. Why is the mesh gracing the ground but the slip dress only gracing her ankles? It looks like it’s straight out of Frozen. Why are there so many crystals up top but so few below? What a mess. I hate this dress with every fiber of my being.
2. Alexander McQueen: Dutch State Banquet, 23 October 2018
Remember how much hope we had for this dress? Years and years we waited for Kate’s Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II. And this... this is what she gives us? It looks like a periwinkle trash bag that was accidentally left hanging on an ancient 80s prom dress clearance rack. Kate... baby... WHY??? The only redeeming factor is that order and the tiara, as usual. The rest of it needs to be burned. Immediately. Yesterday. God, it’s awful.
1. Erdem: Dinner with the Swedish Royal Family at the Residence of the British Ambassador, 30 January 2018
To nobody’s surprise, this tops the list. There is not a single thing about this mess that makes me want to even look at it ever again. It looks like my great aunt’s furniture from the 70s. Mustard yellow, shiny fabric, with a hideous floral pattern would have been bad enough in a dress with a simple silhouette. Add in bell sleeves, the ruffled bottom, cinched waist, frilly collar, and weird details doing down the chest? It’s a disaster. This one really needs to be burned. Incinerated. Catherine Elizabeth, I adore you, but so help me god if you ever bust this thing out of the depths of hell again...

I would like to know what went through Kate's head when she decided THAT dress is the one to be reworn. It was such a theme dress on that foreign trip, I didn't think we'd see it again. She's got so many other gowns to wear with gorgeous diamonds, either her own or ones she could have borrowed from the royal collection. I don't think her jewellery set matches the dress either. I love her but she does strange things sometimes!
This is one of the reasons I don’t like overly “themey” outfits. They make it really hard to rewear without it looking like a costume. I know people rave about the blue Jenny Packham she wore in India but I think that has the same issue. You can dress in a way that pays tribute but when it’s so narrow to one specific place it just looks really jarring when it’s worn elsewhere

can you play pretend stylist for kate at the royal variety performance?
If I had money I’d bet on a sequin Jenny Packham number.
But this is pretend stylist so I’m going for what I want instead of what I predict. Talbot Runhof has some really interesting gowns that seem like they’d work for Kate. I chose this purple cape effect gown with the sparkle that Kate likes, but there are so many of their gowns that could work for Kate. I styled it with Kate’s Robinson Pelham earrings, Oscar de la Renta shoes, and Wilbur & Gussie bag,

In your opinion, which are the best and the worst clothes that meghan and kate have ever worn?
This is one of the hardest questions to answer and I had so many more options, especially for best clothes! I've also just realised you said "best and worst" not "favourite and least favourite" but that's what you've got. Although now you've given me the idea, one day I will make a "best outfits" version because they are different things in my head.
Worst Meghan Outfits
From left to right, Meg's Safiyaa top and skirt ensemble for the Royal Variety Performance, her brown Massimo Dutti look from Canada House (off topic but with the coat, I love this look), the Hugo Boss skirt she wore with a Givenchy shirt at Wimbledon, and her Givenchy skirt and top ensemble from the 2019 Endeavour Fund Awards
Worst Catherine Outfits
LOOK THEY'RE ALL BLUE! From left to right, the lace Temperley London dress worn to the WMHD event in 2017, her Alexander McQueen blue gown from the Dutch State Banquet, the sequinned Jenny Packham gown from the Cambridges' India Tour, and her Catherine Walker ensemble from her arrival in Pakistan
Best Meghan Outfits
From left to right, Meg's black Givenchy gown from the British Fashion Awards, the navy Carolina Herrera dress worn at polo in 2018, her Brandon Maxwell yellow dress from the Commonwealth Youth Challenge, and her caped red Safiyaa gown from the Military Music Festival. I could have added so much more, including all of Meg's street style, most of her Down Under tour outfit, her wardrobe when she was engaged, and her 2019 Spring maternity wardrobe
Best Catherine Outfits
From left to right, the red Alexander McQueen dress worn to a garden party in Germany, the Gucci dress worn to the V&A in 2017, Kate's amazing Miu Miu coat from Christmas 2017, and her Alexander McQueen goddess gown from the 2019 BAFTAs. Again, I could have added so many more - her Ark Gala gown, her Oslo Dinner outfit, her No Time To Die outfit, most of her summer dresses, her Early Years tour outfits, her outdoors/gardening looks, any time she's in red, the blue dress she wore for her 10th wedding anniversary photos, I could go on

1. What do you think is one of Kate's best looks? 2. I read that a RR said KP may stop informing the reporters of what Kate is wearing, do you have an opinion on that? 3. What do you think is one of Kate's worst outfits? 4. What would you like to see her in again? 5. Other than her wedding dress what is one of the most expensive outfits Kate has worn? :)
I think one of my all time favourite looks is the teal Jenny Packham dress she wore to an Olympic gala and the Tusk awards;
I also loved the look she wore to the ANZAC Day service this year (I’m a big fan of teals and cobalt blues).
I totally understand why KP might be tired of telling people what the Duchess is wearing, as it can distract from the work she is doing. Her appearances are often to bring attention to causes or charities, and focusing too much on clothes can take away from that. That being said, I think the Duchess does marvelous things for the British fashion industry, so maybe there’s a fine balance to be achieved.
In terms of bad outfits, I really don’t like many of her Erdem pieces, especially the mustard yellow gown she wore in Sweden.
I would love to see her in the Michael Kors Peacock print dress again. It’s not typical of her style, but I think it was a really underrated piece from this year.
I couldn’t tell you her most expensive outfit of all time, as I only have the figures from this year, I believe it was her outfit for the Beating Retreat Concert. However her jewellry, much of which is recycled, tends to drive up costs, so most expensive on new clothing costs alone was probably the US State Banquet.
Thanks for asking!
