I think he’d like the idea of archaeology and would do it as a hobby, dressing up in the absurdly stereotypical getup you see in movies, but then get into danger and Crowley would have to rescue him (in Indiana Jones getup OF COURSE).

Aziraphale would probably either make a very good or very bad lawyer. He’s read quite a lot, but idk how well-versed/interested in law he is. He definitely has the drive for it and can be stubborn and argumentative when he needs to be, but I don’t think he likes to argue A LOT, which would probably be a problem.

We’ve already seen how Crowley handles working the bookshop… I would assume his librarian approach would be much the same, except he would LOVE the idea of kid’s programs and would probably be good at connecting with the children. However… given his approach to raising children… some of the kids might turn out a bit odd.

Crowley would be one of those professors who would act like he literally couldn’t care less what you do or if you’re there, but would be at least mildly disappointed by the fact that you weren’t there deep down. If he’d actually READ whatever was in the curriculum I think he’d be pretty engaging, but he’s not much of a reader, so… meep mop.

It was a nice, cold and rainy day. Your boyfriend, Jushiro ukitake, had his head resting on top of yours. The soft raindrops hitting your window eased you, along with being in the big arms of your sweet boyfriend.

“I still can’t believe this is my life.” Ukitake spoke out in a whispering tone, holding you tighter than ever. As if you would disappear if he didn’t held onto you tight enough.

“What do you mean?” You said, looking up to him. He looked back down at you, his face softening and a small smile appeared on his face, “What could I have possibly done to des this life I mean.” He brought his lips closer to you, reaching to your forehead, laying a sweet and gentle kiss on it.

“What would I do without you?” He whispered out, he unwrapped his arms around you, he cupped your cheeks, lifting your face slightly more up to him. “Maybe lost?” joking with him, He laughed by your response, then he leaned in, giving you a small peck on the lips.

“I would most definitely be lost.”

You’ve been with Ukitake for quite some time now, neither of you cared much for the age difference between you two. It was never a problem in the beginning, well for you at least. You always had a thing for older guys, so when you met Ukitake, he fit your type.

As for Ukitake, he was a bit hesitant to date someone as young as you. He’s never dated someone younger than him, he’s always stayed in his age range. But after meeting you and getting to know you, he simply couldn’t resist you.

He’s been with women before, but none of them could ever compare to you, you never screamed for attention but somehow, the attention was always all on you. As if you were a star, and you were definitely a star Ukitake would’ve loved to claim.

Even though you were great, you were still a bit too young for him. He tried to let go of you, he tried to distance himself from you. But he just couldn’t, he thought of you every hour, every minute and second. You were stuck in his head, he couldn’t just let go of you just like that, so he shamelessly went up to you again, hoping you’d give him another chance.

Of course you said yes, and now. You’re here, four years later. Ukitake was forever grateful that you accepted back with open arms, he felt less shameful about the age difference by then.

Many people saw the age difference between you two and thought it was weird, but you didn’t care. Yes you were into older guys, but you never actually saw Ukitake just for that.

He was sweet, he took interest in every little thing you liked and even tried to look into it himself, just so you could have someone to properly talk about it to. Thats the kind of man he is.. he complimented the insecurities he didn’t even know you had, he thought that someone like you could never have insecurities—until you told him and he was shocked—

You saw him for who he was, not because of the age difference.

You buried your face into his chest, getting a strong whiff of his rich vanilla cologne. “You really see me for who I am.” Your voice was a bit muffled, due to your face being so buried into his chest.

His fingers brushed out your hair, “I see all of you, you’re the only person in this entire universe who can make me feel young once again.” He softly spoke out.

You pushed yourself away from his chest, frightening him a bit. “Honey! You talk about yourself like if you’re 70! You’re only in your late 30’s. That isn’t old at all. You still have a long way to go.”

He eased up by your reassuring words, “You’re right you’re right. Being 38 is still pretty young huh?”

“Of course it is.”

You grabbed his face, pressing your lips against, soft and lingering. It was a kiss that spoke of love and trust. A kiss that said “you’re mine and I am yours.”

As you pulled away, you could see his soft and glossy lips, quivering. “Honey?” You said, in a confused tone, wondering why he had such a expression on his face.

“Nothing. I’m just glad I can spend the night of my life with you.” He pulled you closer, your warmth melting to his. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else but here. With you.”

In that moment, you knew that no matter what anyone else thought, you two were exactly where you were both meant to be.

first of all, very curious as to why you came to my inbox about this . . . do i give elwin hater vibes? i'm not . . . but in the spirit of hearing people out . . .

honestly i don't really see how elwin can be overrated when he's not really rated in the first place. like people will be like "oh he's so pure, so kind, so sweet, so flawless" because. idk man it's kind of true. he's the only person in the entire series who hasn't done something problematic afaik . . . but other than that people don't really talk about him like ever. he's not very interesting as a character because of the fact that he's just kind of there to be nice and patch sophie up. he feels less like a character and more like a plot device to me idk

i mean yeah he's unserious but not chronically . . . he knows when to be serious and his "unseriousness" to me is just whimsy. like. he has stuffed animals and he wears pajamas like exclusively but who wouldn't if they could? do you see what i'm saying . . . like that's not anything like. wrong? to me? it just feels like something that brings him comfort and it doesn't hurt anyone so i mean . . . to me he does act like an adult (well aside from the fact that there's some weird juvenile dialogue that taints all of shannon's adult characters), like i don't think there's anything elwin-specific that i would say reminds me of ten-year-old behavior

okay i can see how you might see the pictures as a bit problematic because sophie didn't consent to it beforehand (keefe does actually express enthusiasm toward the idea before it happens to him, though, so we'll disregard him) . . . but honestly that's so unserious to me? i don't think his intention was necessarily to embarrass sophie, but rather to make fun of how much she's in the healing center . . . but yeah sophie does say she doesn't like it so that's certainly a thing. although i think elwin wanted it to be a surprise and that's why he didn't ask sophie first . . . i think if sophie told him not to, he'd take it down. i will say though that this doesn't really become a pattern of behavior with elwin . . . he does it once (well twice, but keefe was okay with it beforehand) so it seems strange to hate him for such a one-off thing where the intention wasn't even to humiliate sophie imo

A while ago I saw this theory about Builder Brother’s Pizza and Elliot, how he ended up in Forsaken.

Essentially it was based off an ad for WAAPP where the chef gets stuck in the oven, and made into a pepperoni pizza, and Elliot’s just like “welp I guess I’ll do it myself” - which in turn sparked the theory that the meat used in the pizza is human- or robloxian, I suppose

It’s said that Elliot runs the place more or less because it’s understaffed one way or another-

And if the theory that the meat is people, then there’s a chance Elliot knows, given how tied into the business he is. It is a family business after all.

And if he isn’t downright involved, or somehow doesn’t know, he’s still technically complacent about everything as he makes the orders, delivers them, so on so forth.

The theory was that, because of this, he has been Forsaken.

Now then, I have a hc for this theory.

Within Forsaken, it’s said that Elliot doesn’t eat his own pizza because he’s sick of it. What if that’s not fully the truth? He’s sick of it, yes, but not because he’s sick of pizza. He’s sick of the taste.

Let’s say that the theory is true- surely at some point Elliot would’ve eaten the pizza himself. Which means he would’ve indulged in cannibalism, intentionally or not.

I imagine he would’ve gotten so use to the flavor of the pizza, which used human ingredients, that pizza made differently tastes.. wrong.

And if he doesn’t know that the company made the pizza with people, then he’d make pizza with normal ingredients, the same way he has all his life, and the flavor would be off?

He doesn’t know why, or maybe he’s worried that the ingredients are wrong somehow. But alas, it’s his job to heal his teammates. Just because it tastes wrong to him doesn’t mean it will for them.

Ah tldr;

Builder Brother’s Pizza made pizza with people, Elliot got use to how their pizza tasted because of it, and now can’t stand pizza made normally. So he won’t eat his own pizza.

I am a little curious how it'd work out if you made it impossible for the original creator to transfer their copyright to someone else and the only option is licensing, but my guess is it just makes the problems with multi-person efforts prohibitive?

like, if the writer owns the rights to the writing and the artist owns the rights to the pictures they can license them to the publisher, sure, and presumably they signed contracts ahead of time saying they do. and the comic book is a separate work, but who owns that? Not a corporation, corporations can only own intellectual property to the extent the creators, which must be human beings, transfer those rights, and we've established that's not a thing the law would support. Maybe the editor who puts everything together ends up the owner? In any case it's ultimately some specific human being, which means if you infringe on the copyright on the comic book it has to be that specific human being who sues you for it, and sure if they're still working for the company they'd be able to use their legal resources to do that. but if they quit, retire, get fired, die, whatever, then coordination to sue gets much dicier or impossible.

plus of course a competitor who wanted to get a license need only negotiate with the specific human being that owns the rights, not with the corporation.

it'd be an interesting legal regime, but i'm pretty sure it'd make it much harder to profit from creative works that are collaborative efforts between multiple people, and therefore also limit the availability of jobs hiring for that. much like abolishing copyright entirely would.

idk, maybe you can tinker with it to fix those problems, but my expectation is that the possible outcomes are a) you end up with wherever we are now with all the same problems, except with a much more complicated set of legal theories why or b) you end up with corporation's rights so weakened, and creative works so much harder to profit off, that they produce much less creative work and thus hire much fewer people for it, which is not really a win for creative workers. maybe you can thread that needle though.

Actually going insane over the implications of Jason asking Dick to be the Robin to his Batman in Battle for the Cowl.

Like I initially took it at the purely surface-level of Jason wanting a partner in the general sense. Which made sense, it's a huge responsibility and a lonely one so an assistant/sidekick/partner seems a no-brainer if you can get one.

But then I really thought about it, because Jason is not asking Dick to be his partner in the general sense; he's not even asking Dick to be his Nightwing. He's asking Dick to be his Robin.

And they both know exactly what Jason means: "Be the light to my darkness. Be the smile to my scowl. Be the hope to my fear. "

He's saying "Be 'Robin'; be the embodiment of Love and Justice and Goodness. Be the exceptional person that you have always been. Be the slightly-less exceptional person that I was when I wore your colors. Be the person that I was in the process of becoming and might have been (or might still be), if only Joker hadn't clipped my wings."

TW! Spoilers for TGR (I will only be talking about things I picked up in this book because I did not annotate TSC), mentions of SA, because, of course there is, it's these two.

To start off with: Jean is so aggressively loyal.

BUT

His aggression and violence is controlled. Idk if you saw the post someone made about Andrew never being out of control, even when others think he is, and I 100% stand by that and it's the same thing with Jean. We all saw how controlled he has been with everything - the game, practices, when ppl piss him off in general - but when it comes time where that aggression is needed to protect his people, it comes out in a measured dose that doesn't intend to seriously harm, but to get someone to back down. Like how a dog will give you a nip, or a cat will swat at you, to get you to back off? Yeah, like that.

Which leads me onto the dog thing.

Now, we're all aware of how Andrew is referred to as Kevin's guard dog, or something of the likes, with the leash and other metaphors. Well, Jean's is not so outwardly named, but he does display dog-like behaviours - especially an obedient one, even if that obedience has been abused into him.

For example, on page 13/14 (Kindle): "As usual, Jean finished first and went to wait on the bench near Jeremy’s locker." Tell me that is not a dog waiting obediently for its "owner" (not saying at all that Jeremy owns him, he does not, but Kevin did not own Andrew, so...) And going back to the whole control thing? If Jeremy said "bite", Jean would. It is Jeremy (and Rhemann, and his contract, but mainly Jeremy and Jean's fear of disappointing him) that keeps Jean at bay (most of the time - technically with Bryson Jeremy didn't say "go" but he also didn't put up much of a protest. I'm sure if Jeremy had been more confident and less afraid of his brother, he could have stopped Jean. But also, sometimes a guard dog will bite even if it isn't told to if it's owner(s) are in danger, and Jeremy and Laila were).

Another quote, which kind of made me really think "hmm, this guy is kind of a parallel to Andrew!" is one quote on page 335: "It makes you more interesting" after Jeremy insults the Bobcats. And quote on page 226 "Stop looking at me like that." (though I didn't realise how Andrew-like it was until I started writing this) are both almost exact copies of what Andrew has said - I think Andrew says "Interesting" to Neil once in the first trilogy? But I haven't read the books in yonks.

Also, just, the poker faces (though Jean's is less "I'm bored" and more, "I could not care less about anything going on"), how they're both so accepting yet filled with rage at what has happened to them (e.g., page 350 "I don’t care. It doesn’t matter. Then why did he want to scream until his throat bled?").

The fact that they are both victims of rape, yet believe that they would never get a true prosecution for their abusers (I'm sure that's why Andrew never spoke out, not just because he was trying to move on, but he knows how low the rates are of rapists getting prosecuted for women, and he no doubt made the connection that it would be even less between two men, even if it was CSA), and Jean doesn't really express this but I'm sure it's a thought.

And I don't doubt Andrew struggled to come to terms with his sexuality after everything that happened to him, and though it isn't the same as what happened to Jean, his struggle with his own attraction is similar.

If we were to get a POV of Andrew, and I were to read TSC again, I would probably be able to make more comparisons.

making dean the perfect big brother that's never done anything to hurt sam, especially when discussing or considering pre-series, just flattens him so much. it is so much more interesting to accept that their situation makes it literally impossible for one to exist fully and completely without hurting the other. you can still love dean even if he left sam alone at pennywhistle's because he did actually want to experience some type of normalcy. to me, that's way more compelling than adjusting canon to fit dean into an unattainable role.

I have not been in one and honestly don’t plan on doing that lmao. This post is gonna be sort of personal, less about the show ig so take that into consideration before reading.

The episode didn’t drastically change my view on Mark and Gemma’s relationship. Idk we really didn’t have much info on that before so…

But it did change how I see Mark a ton.

I don’t think I’ve ever not found Adam Scott charming though I’ve only seen him in two things. Ben’s worst moments in Parks and Rec. Mark being a dick to Devon, etc. It’s all been fine.

But UGHHH the disgust I felt during this episode. And I know it’s crazy. Maybe? Like his behavior/attitude during the flashback rough patches is probably more justifiable than a lot of other things we’ve seen him do and say.

But ughhh gross. I can’t. Die.

And I’m wondering if all people just look like that sometimes? Like if I ever wanted to have a deep relationship with someone would I just have to get over it? Or do some people not have that look that would make me never want to speak to them again. Maybe that’s something that only comes up when it’s a life partner that your life is so entangled to. Ig it’s good I don’t have any interest in “life partner” anyways.

I also feel like it might be a thing only men do. I’ve only ever seen them do it but I would guess everyone has the capacity and likelihood to in a long term relationship.
