#a few weeks ago i googled melt & pour soap bases for sensitive skin & all the results were recipes for diy baby soap#but those were (a) not the results i was looking for so didn't interact with them and (b) not on pintrerest#so i'm not sure how they're relevant to pinterest#i've been trying for literally months to find how to change what pinterest thinks i'm interested in but no success#and ftr 'update your personal information' doesn't allow you to change your interests#grunge holds a grudge against pinterest

#song of the day#a spectacularly and unexpectedly horrible day but I got my queue restarted yesterday and I promised myself today I'd get a song up#I don't want to talk about the horrible part. I never know how to talk about really bad things without it feeling really bad you know?#but I did make some very good food today#I've never cooked much fish before but Duncan and I both really like it so I've been taking a swing at some simple-ish-looking recipes#I made a chowder the other day that was woefully underseasoned but I do know what I'd do to fix it so next time it'll hopefully be better#and today I made some pan-fried cod cakes that came out really really well and then later I seared a nice piece of salmon#overall I'm pleased with how the fish journey is going#if anybody has beginner fish recipes they'd recommend I'd be grateful for more ideas of what to try!#oh shit I almost forgot to mention the actual song!#song for today's from a fanvid I'll reblog in a second. again I must say I Do Not Go Here wrt 911 but the fanvid is /excellent/#and the song is great. I guess it's about time I remove my NL dream addresses from my blog description. end of an era
#might as well remove the NH one too just because I've always been kinda whatever about it#I loved and adored my NL towns but NH's customization never grabbed me the same way#combination NH has no furniture and patterns look bad with the HD graphics#I keep meaning to count how much furniture NH ACTUALLY has if you remove the redundant items like all the flower wreaths#and how nearly every fruit recipe has 5 versions (one for each fruit)#bc as it is NH doesn't have much more furniture than NL so I'm willing to bet NL has more unique items#I guess the main post is in the tags now oh well

#I've gotten back to it for only a week and my skin already looks a thousand times better that's crazy#and I'm not even doing the full routine I used to do#I'm just using everything I own so I can finish the products up#I really wanna get the glow recipe fruit babies set to try it out#since I liked their glow drops so much#but I need to finish everything I own firssst#maybe I won't even get the set after all like. what I use now works well#the only issue is that almost every product has been discontinued so it's harder to find#and incredibly expensive#maybe I need to start thinking abt getting something with the same composition? idk#rambles*

I keep private boards of peoples names and collect links to things i could get those people#so when birthdays/holidays roll around i have a pretty big selection to look through. suddenly i miss my grandma so much
#she died when i was 11 and i'm 26 now so i had a really short time with her#but she was the kindest woman i've ever known#like a total sweetheart#she made this apple cake that was her own recipe and it was the most delicious thing i've ever eaten to this day#every time we visited she made it#and i have a huge craving for it rn#and it made me miss her#i feel like i barely remember what she looked like anymore#it's been 15 years#and it makes me so sad#only my grandpa from my mom's side is alive and we're not rly close#and i see him like once every six months#so i don't rly have close grandparents anymore#and i'm so jealous of everyone who has :[#living vicarously through my sims tbh#💬#death tw#death cw#lmk if you need any other tags!

Obviously fuck walmart etc but they now have a section on their website called The Recipe Hub which just has. A bunch of recipes. And in the recipe it'll also show you how much it'll cost to get the ingredients and just add it all to the grocery pickup/delivery cart right from the screen. (you can customize serving sizes + remove ingredients you don't want) They also seem to have a bunch of the recipes for their "freshness guaranteed" deli food, like their macaroni and potato salads and shit. Which is super cool if you're like me and a) can never think of any meals to make/prep for and b) can't get a lot of prepackaged meals due to allergies.

You should be starting a recipe book. I don't give a shit if you're only 20-years-old. The modern web is rotting away bit by bit before our very eyes. You have no idea when that indie mom blog is going down or when Pinterest will remove that recipe. Copy it down in a notebook, physically or digitally. Save it somewhere only you can remove it. Trust me, looking for a recipe only to find out it's been wiped off the internet is so fucking sad. I've learned my lesson one too many times.
