Your first initial impressions of any Twst character vs your current feelings about them?

honestly, my perception of pretty much every character went through some metamorphosis of "this guy looks like a jerk" to "oh, he's a stupid jerk? now hold on." it's all about that balancing act between a dark brooding asshole and a dark brooding asshole who is also totally ridiculous, and it really does make ALL the difference.

perhaps most ironically, I've mentioned before that I was absolutely not into the Diasomnias at first, because the impression the website gave pre-release was somehow even less favorable than for everyone else and I was mad at Lilia for getting my hopes up for a token girl). and then we got their stories and, well, I kind of just haven't stopped thinking about them since. 🤷

also, I went in thinking that Crowley was going to be. y'know. competent at his job. a helpful guide. a mysterious yet caring mentor figure, a fitting leader for this band of delicate young magic waifs with their fancy little magic outfits and their perfect, perfect hair. I've never been so glad to be wrong.

I think it's actually so delicious that in 'Amok Time' Stonn is dressed similarly to all the guards that follow T'Pau into the ritual grounds. It's said by Spock that "by tradition, the male is accompanied by his closest friends" (sidenote: Hey Spock why are you feeling shame for the 'friendship' you feel for Kirk if Vulcans are established to have friendships with one another?) there's no mention of the female doing the same thing EX: "The bride and groom are accompanied by their closest friends" and T'Pring doesn't bring anyone aside from Stonn, where the word 'friends' implies you should bring more than one person. T'Pau also doesn't question T'Pring's companion, asking how she pledges his behavior like she does with Spock. We can assume one of two things: That T'Pau only does this because Mccoy & Kirk are humans "Thee names these outworlders friends" OR that she doesn't know that Stonn is a companion to T'Pring. Here's what I'm getting at: Could you IMAGINE the added drama of Stonn legitimately being one of T'Pau's guards? I mean, in my head I feel like T'Pring bringing some random guy (friend or not) dressed in armor (which I assume the costuming is supposed to represent) would raise some questions and concerns but no one seems to think it's odd. Like, it's already SO shocking for T'Pring to choose challenge. THEN she names a HUMAN her champion AND THEN one of the guards assigned to T'Pau suddenly leaps up and shouts that he and T'Pring made an agreement that HE'D be her champion? God, I would never stop talking about it.

Again, the whole interview is a pleasure to read. But this part stood out to me.

If there's something I've been wondering about Walton all this time it's this. Initially I thought he's an extrovert as he loves people, getting to know them, and seems to enjoy being around them. But then I noticed certain quirks of his in interviews. I can't explain what they are, but they gave me introverted vibes. So I'm not sure. He's definitely an ambivert, but exactly what type is what keeps me wondering about him.

One of the most frustrating thing in rpg video games when you're a sidequester, is when a mini-boss is a recurring one and they're being an annoying little bitch and boasting about how powerful they are in their cut scenes- meanwhile you're easily 10 levels higher than the game devs thought you should be for that fight and it last 10 seconds

Just let me kill that asshole already, i guessed what his relevance to the plot was the first time i saw him, we can move on to other stuff

#yk bit of a random thought but i think people see Lancer as relatively surface-level character-wise #they see all these other characters like Noelle & Spamton & Ralsei etc #characters who CLEARLY have more to them you would need to be blind to miss it #Noelle is one of the main characters as of Chapter 2 & has obvious struggles #<- notably her father likely passing away later on & her interest in Susie (not a struggle but yk)#Spamton is a secret boss & has a lot of intrigue & mystique to him #<- plus he already has connections to characters like Swatch & the Addisons #Ralsei well yk how it is with him he's literally one of THE main characters #<- & we still don't know much about him & some people likely still think he could be evil as i'm typing this #<- that's how mysterious he is #but Lancer? he rly just seems like the comedic relief yk #<- the goofy sidekick #but no! oh yeah i played a little more isat today and i have to say i just ADORE how the dialogue is written. specifically the way the party can say and do things that upset another, but its treated as just a normal thing that happens and it has no bearing on the story or anything. like i just saw siffrin, bonnie and isabeau make fun of a wilting plant which turned out to be mirabelle's and she became dejected about it, or odile worrying she didn't react well enough to bonnie's snacks even though they were fine. literally one of the first things that happens is siffrin upsetting mirabelle bc they didn't show enough enthusiasm about the sleepover. the characters feel so Human bc they make little mistakes that genuinely upset someone even to each other and i can't think of any other thing i'm into that does it like that. if that makes sense

#clai speaks #really really reeeeally good natural sounding dialogue. they're still clearly all very close friends but that doesnt mean they're--#--immune to butting heads with each other #like yeah interactions like these are probably still hints at the characters actual plot relevant insecurities and flaws #but its just smth about how its shown yknow?? just in passing like its normal #any other game would make it a plot point for a main character to accidentally offend another #also on the topic of dialogue i just really liked the scene where loop tells siffrin their pronouns #i've never seen any media with a character going ''hey my pronouns are x'' before idk it just makes me happy #speaking of siffrin. oh my god they just like me fr #the sieve-like brain. the ''who are you. if not the funnyjokespun guy'' line. the uhhhh Disproprotionate Guilt At Mistakes #the more i find out about siffrin the more afraid i am that this game will kill me on a Personal level BJEVRJBFJFJ #big ramble hello if you got through it all i hope i'm making sense. if you cant tell i am very much enjoying myself!#i'm only on like my third loop i'm still pretty much at the beginning but its already so good and intriguing
