heyy! can i request chuuyas so on vacation w the pm girls ? uhh a hawaii vacation or something :))
a/n: THE CUTEST REQ EVER ?! ily for this
Chuuya’s S/O on Vacation With the Port Mafia Girls
Tumblr media
work had been slow moving for awhile at the port mafia, so what better way to spend your vacation days than on a trip to hawaii with the other girls?
with permission from mori, you start preparing for your trip and asking around the port mafia if anyone wants to accompany you
chuuya would’ve loved to go but, as an executive he has more...pressing matters to attend to 🙄
gets all pouty when you mention that you’re going on a trip without him, but lets you go on the condition that you call and stay in contact
however! kouyou, higuchi, and gin are all more than willing to join you on vacation
the four of you pack your bags together the night before and take a private taxi to the airport early in the morning
you’ve been to hawaii in the past but none of the other girls have so you’re excited to show them all the tourist attractions
after reaching the destination, the four of you head to the hotel you’d booked to drop off the luggage and get situated
the hotel in question was the five star luxury mauna key beach hotel
the building sat right in front of the beach, surrounded by palm trees, and you’d booked a top floor room with a balcony
only the best for the port mafia, am i right?
upon arriving, you facetime chuuya to show him around the hotel room and update on what’s happened so far
you go out on the balcony to pan the camera over the view as he drops comments about the hotel you’d chosen
he’s also secretly taking notes for perhaps taking just the two of you back there on a dateâ€ŠđŸ€”
after ending the call with your boyfriend, the other girls are itching to leave the hotel and look around the area
you jot down a list of the events everyone wants to check out
higuchi won’t stop remarking on how beautiful the beach looks, so the four of you decide to go there first
the water is a clear blue and just the perfect temperature; not too warm or too cold
kouyou sunbathes while you and higuchi splash around in the ocean
a crab tries to attack higuchi at one point and in a panic she grabs it off of her & throws it into your hair ??
gin builds a little sandcastle đŸ„șđŸ„ș
the heat of the sun’s harsh rays start to get too intense, so y’all check back into your hotel room to cool off for an hour
you guys probably rack up thousands in fees from raiding the minibar...you have to keep calling room service to refill the drinks/snacks inside LOL
(low key me, tho)
after cooling off, you lead the group to the dock where a yacht is waiting
the yacht takes the four of you for a sightseeing ride around parts of the island, stopping every now and then so you can take pictures
gin notices some turtles in the water and excitedly points them out đŸ„°
this is the happiest you’ve ever seen the group be tbh. it’s refreshing to see everyone enjoying themselves for once
the captain of the yacht says it’s ok for you guys to snorkel with the turtles for a bit, and provides you with the sufficient gear
you all gear up and dive into the clear water to swim around with the turtles !! at one point a giant school of colorful fish surrounds you and it feels like something out of a movie-
once the yacht ride is over, you all opt to walk down the shore to the forest where there’s a sightseeing trail
you almost run out of phone storage with the amount of pictures you take lmao
it’s completely worth it tho !! the number of cute selfies you get with gin are priceless <3
you also snatch some cursed shots of higuchi trying to climb a tree and falling down
to end the events, the four of you board a sunset dinner cruise and enjoy some high end meals while the sky washes from orange to dark blue
wish i was there with y’all...damn
you also take this as opportunity to call chuuya again and tell him about everything that transpired
you flip your camera to show him the ocean illuminated by the sunset, plus all the fancy food you got to eat >:)
chuuya tries to berate the type of wine they’d served but you insist that it’s better than any of the kinds he’d given you
and today, i present to you the top five ways to get into a fight with chuuya...
kidding <3
higuchi tries to call akutagawa so she can tell him everything that’s happened but of course he doesn’t answer...poor higuchi
after the cruise, it’s around nine at night and considerably cooler out
no one’s ready to go back to the hotel quite yet, so the four of you stop at a nearby bar to try all the drinks. it isn’t midnight until you leave, and everyone’s become pretty wasted
as soon as y’all step foot back into the hotel room, you collapse onto your respective beds and fall asleep
overall? a super eventful and relaxing trip, it was great to get a break from mafia business for once
too bad ur boyfriend couldn’t go
a/n: this ended up being so long wtf- probably bc i was so hyped to write it since it’s such a cute idea ^^’ my favoritism for gin really popped out too

DISCLAIMER: okay okay please just know that i don’t have strong feelings about gabi in any way, i don’t dislike her and she isn’t my fav! i’m saying this so that nobody comes for my throat!!
Tumblr media
——————————————————————————
“are we there yet? i’ve gotta pee really bad!”
falco complained as you and your fellow friends were all compacted in porco’s old car, and were driving down to the lake house that colts family owned. reiner plugged his ears, clearly agitated by falco’s nonstop complaints. porco and reiner sat up front, pieck, gabi and falco in the middle, and you and colt in the back.
“a few more minutes, falco. then we’ll be there”, colt responded. you looked out your window, taking in the beautiful summertime scenery. colt had an arm wrapped around you as you rested on his side, making you feel safe and secure.
“falco, stop complaining!” gabi whined. “you’ve asked that question like fifteen times!”
gabi and falco continued their bickering as you let out a sigh, colt quietly giggling at their antics.
porco made a turn. “this the street, colt?”
“yup. should be down here”, colt replied. “the big log cabin with the giant window above the front door.”
you pulled into the driveway of the lake house, and looked in awe at the grand house sitting in front of you. everyone seemed equally shocked.
“everyone get your own bags, i’m tired”, porco said, shutting the door of the drivers seat. he headed to the front door.
you went to the trunk of the car and attempted to find your suitcase, only to find that colt had already gotten it and taken it out for you. pieck grabbed her duffel bag, and you helped falco carry his backpack.
“thank you so much for helping falco out, y/n”, colt says. “i really appreciate it. you’re like a parent to him.”
it’s true. you loved falco as a little brother almost, and you and colt were beginning to feel like parents to him.
colt unlocked the door to the house, and everyone gathered inside. you all stared in awe, observing the large house. it was decorated nicely, old paintings hanging on the walls and a brick fireplace sitting there unlit.
“there’s five bedrooms in here. me and y/n will take the master bedroom, you all find your own rooms”, colt says as he begins to walk up the winding staircase that lead to the upstairs. porco and reiner raced upstairs after, followed by pieck and falco. you followed colt up, as he lead you to a large bedroom.
“well, this is it!” he puts all the bags down with a thud, and sits on the bed.
“thanks for bringing us all here, colt”, you say lovingly, as you sit on his lap and kiss his chapped lips. his cheeks light up in a pretty shade of red.
“i’ve wanted to bring you here since we started dating”, colt says. “i wish it was just the two of us here, but then falco mentioned to the others that we were going... now we’re all here.”
“why would you want it to be just us?” you ask colt.
if his cheeks weren’t red before, they surely are now. “n-no reason!” he stammers. he flashes you a nervous grin.
you hear footsteps coming down the hallway, and you quickly get off of colts lap, to save the embarrassment of being seen in such a suggestive pose. you see falco poke his head into the doorway shyly.
“colt, are we gonna go swimming?” he asks.
“sure, why not? get your bathing suit on, tell everyone that we’re gonna go out to the lake if they want to tag along”, colt smiles. falco runs out of the room, yelling at everyone to get their bathing suits on.
you get off the bed and open your suitcase, looking through the stash of clothes you brought along with you. you take out two swimsuits, one was a blue one-piece and another was a white bikini, which was a little bit revealing.
“hey colt, which one should i wear?” you ask him, holding up both of your swimsuits.
colts mind is immediately corrupted with dirty thoughts of seeing you in that white bikini. he gulps and tries to push those thoughts aside. “the white one is pretty”, he says.
“okay! i’ll be in the bathroom changing, you can change in here. call me if you need anything!” you walk into the bathroom and close the door.
colt slips on a pair of swim trunks, which were orange with black stripes running down the sides. you enter the room again, and showcase your swimsuit to colt.
the bikini looks amazing on you, flaunting your curves and making your breasts look rounded. you notice colt practically drooling at the sight of you.
you make your way down to the back door, colt following behind you. he was purposely staying behind you because he liked the way the bikini made your ass look. he felt dirty watching your ass, but he couldn’t take his eyes off you.
at the door was porco in black swim trunks, reiner in army green swim trunks, pieck in a black and red bikini, and falco in neon green and blue swim trunks and a matching swim shirt, accompanied by some goggles. gabi stood next to him wearing a purple one-piece.
“wow y/n, you look so pretty!” pieck squealed.
“thank you!” you reply. “i should be the only complimenting you, you literally look ethereal right now!” pieck beamed at the compliment.
you all made your way to the lake that was behind the house. porco was bringing some blow up tubes, reiner brought a few beers and pieck was carrying some towels. you felt the grass turn into sand as your feet sunk into the fine grains. you set some chairs up, and porco inflates the tubes. reiner cracked a beer open. “hey colt, want one?”
before he could say yes, you flash him a warning glare, aware of his sensitivity to alcohol. one time, at a party the two of you were at, colt had gotten drunk and was violently vomiting into the toilet. you had to take him home early, and tuck him into bed. while yes, it was cute, you didn’t like seeing him getting sick.
“i’m gonna have to pass”, colt says hesitantly, as reiner sips his beer and shrugs.
you catch a glimpse of porco out in the lake floating on a green tube, soaking up the sun. reiner grabs a tube and heads to the water, motioning for the two of you to join him.
“we’ll be there in a minute”, colt says. “just gonna warm up to the water.”
you put a foot into the water, trying to get a feel of how cold the water was going to be. to your surprise, the water was perfect. you and colt grip each other’s hands as you make your way into the water. you kept going deeper and deeper into the water, until it was up to your chest. you doggy paddle around feeling the water against your nearly bare body, and then try to float on your back.
“the weather for swimming is perfect today!” you exclaim, floating on the surface of the water.
“yeah it sure is- hey, look over there!” colt shouts. as you avert your gaze, he pushes you underwater, the lake engulfing you whole. you can her him laughing as you push yourself back up.
“colt!” you yell jokingly, and giggle at his antics. colt laughs with you, and picks you up, swinging you around him. you finally meet your lips with his, and share a kiss. you wrap your legs around his waist and bury your face into his bare shoulder.
you both stay there for a few moments, until you hear the voices of porco and reiner laughing in the distance.
“hey lovebirds, you mind?” reiner yells at you two, clearly uncomfy. “there’s other people here, save your kissy and cuddly stuff for the bedroom!”
“shut up reiner, you’re just mad you’ve never had a girlfriend!” colt shouts. reiners face turns away from you two as porco tries to contain his laughter.
later on, you make your way back up to the beach, and spot pieck sunbathing while keeping an eye on gabi and falco, who were building sandcastles. pieck looks up at you, and gives you a warm smile.
“hello y/n, hello colt!” she says. she didn’t seem to get tan much, for her skin was still pale. a fashion magazine was laying beside her.
“hey pieck. how’s falco and gabi doing? have they been good?” colt asks, as falco turns his attention to him upon hearing his name.
“they’ve just been building a sandcastle for the past hour”, she replies. “gabi is apparently creating an army of soldiers to occupy falcos castle.”
colt is visibly puzzled, but he nods. “well, we’re gonna have dinner soon. sunset is just around the corner. i’ll get the grill fired up and we’ll all meet in an hour for dinner.”
an hour passes, and you assist colt with getting dinner ready. he throws various meats on the grill as you start chopping veggies for a salad. everyone gathers at a table on the patio outside and eats. you’re still in what white bikini from earlier, and you seem to attract a lot of attention from everyone, especially colt.
after all of you stuffing your faces with dinner, you all say your good nights and head upstairs. before you climb into bed, you close the door to your shared bedroom, and lock it. (or so you thought you did.) you begin to slip off your white bikini, undoing the straps delicately, and sliding it off of your body.
the doorknob clicks, and the door swings open. colts face immediately turns an unnatural shade of red upon seeing you bare, and you’re quick to cover your chest and whats laying between your legs.
colt immediately sheilds his eyes, apologizing profusely as he backs out the door. he shuts the door as you uncover and change into your robe. you open up the door again and tuck yourself into bed and wait for colt, a book in hand.
you hear a knock on the door, replying with a simple “come in”. in comes a (still) embarrassed colt, rubbing the back of his head. he was dressed only in his boxers, holding the rest of his clothes in his arm, and puts them by the door.
“l-look y/n i’m sorry about what just happened-“
“colt, it’s fine”, you reply. “we’re together, seeing me naked shouldn’t be that alarming to you.” you scooch over, creating a spot for colt to lay on the bed, and he jumps in with you, pulling the blanket over him. he kisses your cheek.
“well, goodnight. sleep tight, my love”, he whispers in your ear. you kiss him back, and shut your book, placing it on your nightstand. he wraps an arm around your waist, and you close your eyes, soon trailing off to sleep.
you wake up hearing colt grunt loudly, and read the clock on your nightstand. it read 12:30 am.
your eyes open sleepily as you feel your boyfriend squirm a little bit in his sleep, and hear him groan again.
“y/n... just like that...ngh~”
your eyes widen as you feel something poke against your butt, as colts print begins to show. you’re conflicted at what to do, to let him sleep or to wake him up and help him with his dream.
his noises begin to get louder, and his cock harder as a few minutes pass. he begins to grind his hips against you, a growing, throbbing heat forming in between your legs. you wanted him so badly, and chances are, he probably wanted you as bad. you took into consideration how he was looking at you today while you were in your swimsuit.
you turned over so your face met his, and gently shook him. his eyes slowly opened, meeting yours.
“oh- oh hi y/n”, colt said, a rasp in his voice. “what’s wrong?”
you look down, your eyes making contact with his growing bulge. he’s clearly humiliated at the fact that you felt him grinding against you and that you heard him moaning in his sleep.
“tell me, what were you dreaming about?” you ask smugly.
“well...uh...” colt began. “it’s kind of weird, if you really want to know though-“
“no, tell me baby”, you reply, beginning to palm him through his boxers. he whimpered, feeling sensitive to the stimulation you were providing him.
“um... i was, you know, having sex with you”, he stammers. “and i was face- fucking you... with that damn white bikini on-“
“would you like me to help your dreams become reality?” you ask, kissing his cheek softly. colts cheeks turn pink, shocked at your offer. you feel his cock twitch, hungry for you.
“can you?” he asks meekly. he sits up, and you waste no time tearing the waistband of his boxers down, revealing his fully erect cock, sore with desire. the tip was red, a bead of pre-cum forming at the very center. you undo your robe, and take it off of you revealing your chest and nether parts. before colt had time to praise you for your stunning looks, you take his dick into your mouth licking his tip and running your slick tongue along the side of his shaft. he lets out a moan so loud that he has to cover his mouth.
“shhhh baby, gotta be quiet so we don’t traumatize anyone here”, you giggle, and continue your work. you keep doing the same motions, not fully putting in his cock yet. colt became increasingly sensitive, gasping at every little thing you did.
after all the teasing you did to him, you finally let his cock enter your mouth, sucking on his warm shaft. he let out a groan, and thrusted into your mouth.
you sucked, licked and spat on him until eventually, his breathing began to pick up, and he pushed your head away.
“we’re gonna do the actual thing, right?” he asked, a drop of sweat on his forehead. “i’ll save myself.”
you nod, and flop onto your back. colt gets on top of you, and moves his mouth to your sensitive chest. he latches on to your nipple, and begins to suck at your tender flesh. a moan slips out of your mouth as the heat between your legs was beginning to get impatiently hungry. colt looks up at you with content eyes, his hazel orbs staring into your own. you’re getting wet from nipple simulation alone.
“c-colt... p-please...” you whisper, overwhelmed by your emotions.
colt removes his mouth from your breast. “okay. just tell me if i’m being too rough. i don’t wanna hurt you.”
he took hold of his cock, painfully throbbing, and placed it on your entrance, teasing you. you whimpered at the feeling.
“ready?” colt growls. you nod your head in approval, and feel something begin to fill you up. colt throws his head back and lets out a deep groan as you clenched around him.
after adjusting to his length, he begins to move his hips, using your saliva from earlier as a natural lubricant. be begins to pant, craving some sort of release.
he doesn’t last long, due to the stimulation of you giving him a blowjob, since he was highly sensitive.
“oh-oh god, y/n...” colt moans. “i’m gonna cum, do i p-pull out?”
“no, just g-go inside- ah!” you stammer, feeling your orgasm creeping up on you. colts thrusts get faster upon him noticing you’re close. the beg begins to violently shake, the weak boards creaking beneath the two of you.
“colt! a-ahh!” you moan, as your walls clench one last time, and feel your nether walls become soaked. not too long later, colts thrusts become sloppy.
“ngh- i’m- im-“ before colt could finish his sentence, his white, sticky cum fills your insides, making you feel warm inside. as you lay there, pussy still leaking with both of your juices combined, colt lays on top of you and lays his head on your shoulder, his bare chest rising and falling against you. you run your fingers through his short hair, placing kisses on his neck.
“that was incredible...” colt whispers. you feel his hot breath warm your shoulder up. he kisses your shoulder, sending a shiver down your spine.
“it really was”, you respond, out of breath.
for the rest of the night, you two cuddled and embraced each other, thankful for the experience you two shared.
the next morning, when you two came down, it was a little later than you would have liked to get up at. everyone shot you both some weird looks.
“why do you all look so mad?” colt asked, grabbing a cup of coffee.
reiner sighs. “the walls are thin, colt. very, very thin.”
you and colt exchange nervous glances. perhaps getting freaky on a vacation wasn’t a good idea.

catouflage (marichat oneshot)
here’s my piece for @kittylovezine vol. 2. which i hope you’ll enjoy. Check out the other fics and art, too! some really amazing stuff!
summary: In which Chat Noir takes up gatecrashing, someone needs to call the fashion police, and marichat are the new couple goals. (aka, marichat at the beach 2: electric boogaloo)
-
Marinette dug her toes into the sand, wriggling them deeper to feel the warmth of the sun-kissed beach. She propped her chin on her knees. One hand played with a shell, tracing the swirls of patterns and the curved spiral. Her expression could only be described as glum.
“Marinette!”
Chat Noir bounded over. She took one look at him and blinked. Her cheeks puffed out, laughter spilling free of her lips.
“What are you wearing?” she asked.
He struck a pose, placing one hand behind his head and the other on his hip. “My catouflage. I’m blending in.”
“You call that blending?”
He had a ridiculous floppy hat on his head, the kind with the flap that covered the whole back of the neck. Giant sunglasses hid his cat-green eyes. Then there were the boardshorts and a green, pineapple-printed Hawaiian shirt he had pulled over his suit. It was the ugliest combination she had seen.
“My eyes hurt just looking at you,” she said, pulling a face.
“It’s called fashion.”
“More like call the fashion police.”
His teeth flashed in a grin and he plopped down next to her under the umbrella. “Anyway, why are you hiding over here by yourself?”
She stiffened. “I’m not hiding.”
“You haven’t joined in with us either.” Concern tinged his voice. “Is everything okay?”
She lowered her gaze. “Just a bit disappointed, I guess.”
“Why?”
“Because
 Adrien
”
“Adrien?” He sat up straighter. “What about him?”
She picked up a handful of sand and let it slip through her fingers. “He was so excited about coming to the beach. Plus, we hardly get to see him outside of school. I just
 it would have been nice to spend more time with him.”
He placed his hand on her shoulder. “You’re a good friend, Marinette. I’m sure he’d be happy if he knew you were thinking of him.”
Fresh colour dusted her cheeks and she tugged at one of her pigtails. “You think so?”
“Most definitely.”
She smiled, wide and bright.
“Dudes!” Nino called, waving at them. “Over here! We’re gonna play beach volleyball, and you’re both on my team!”
Chat Noir grinned at her. “You ready to kick some butt?”
She accepted his proffered hand. “Of course.”
oOo
The volleyball game had barely started before Chat Noir’s claw popped the inflatable ball.
“Oops,” Chat said.
Kim and Alix glanced at the deflated ball and then at him. It was like all the stages of grief passed over their faces. Chat Noir shrunk into his shoulders like a turtle trying to escape into a shell.
“I can buy a new one?” he offered.
Kim and Alix just stared at him. Grief time had passed, and now there was only murder in their eyes.
“Ah,” Marinette said, grabbing Chat’s arm. “How about we go see if we can find a replacement ball? I’m sure I saw a shop
”
She tugged him away.
“Do you think they’re really mad?” he asked, shoulders still hunched.
“Oh yeah. They had a big bet going on. I think it’s best you steer clear of them for a while.”
Chat Noir gulped. “Gotcha.”
oOo
They did manage to find a ball in the end. Chat Noir didn’t want to risk ruining their game again, so he opted out. Marinette offered to keep him company. That was how they ended up building a sandcastle together farther from the group.
It was kind of adorable watching Chat Noir. He was like a little kid who had been let loose after months of convalescing and being cooped inside. His smile was pure sunshine. His laugh was a frequent, joyful sound, and he took great delight in collecting shells for their castle.
“We need a moat!” he exclaimed. “Oh, oh, and a drawbridge and—”
A tiny giggle escaped her.
“What?” he said, tilting his head.
“Nothing. I just never expected you to get this excited over making a sandcastle.”
Pink spilled out from under his mask. He scratched the base of his neck and looked the other way. “Is it really so weird?”
“No
”
“Why do I feel like you’re just saying that to make me feel better?”
“No, no, I swear I didn’t mean it as a bad thing.” She smiled and shrugged. “It’s actually kind of cute.”
His nose scrunched. “I would have preferred cool, amazing and debonair, but I guess I can take cute.”
She snorted. “You really think anyone is going to be calling you cool and debonair in that outfit?”
“Stop hating on my catouflage.”
“It’s horrible, and you know it.” She snatched the floppy hat from his head, letting his cat ears spring free. “Where did you even find this thing?”
“Second-hand store.”
“Of course. And of course you would choose this out of all the hats on display.”
“Hey, if you’re gonna gatecrash someone’s beach party, might as well make a statement while you do it.”
She laughed, shaking her head. He was so silly sometimes.
He took the hat from her hands and placed it on her head.
“Hey! Don’t put that thing on me!”
“C’mon, Marinette, it looks great on you!”
“Noooo!”
They had a brief, playful struggle as she tried to get the hat off and he tried to keep it on. Of course he wasn’t using even a fraction of the strength the miraculous gave him. He would have won in a second.
“Fine,” she declared dramatically, holding her arms out in surrender. “Do your worst, Chat Noir.”
He grinned and dressed her up in the awful hat, sunglasses and Hawaiian shirt. Then they took selfies on her phone, taking turns with the hat or glasses, and pulling silly faces. At one point, he had his arms wrapped around her from behind. He wore the ugly hat and rested his chin on her head. She had the glasses low on her nose and the Hawaiian shirt open over her bikini. Both of them were pulling exaggerated, sultry expressions.
“Chat Noir! Chat Noir!”
A swarm of fans converged, pressing in close.
“Is that your girlfriend?”
“Can I get a picture of you two?”
“Ahhh, look how cute they look! Couple goals!”
Chat Noir’s hand moved to cradle her face into his chest, hiding her from view so the fans couldn’t get any closeup photos of her. “Sorry,” he said. “No photos today.”
There was a chorus of awws before, after a few more polite rebuffs from Chat Noir, the fans reluctantly moved on.
He let her go immediately, his expression sheepish. “Sorry about that.”
“It’s okay,” she said with a shrug, though her cheeks were frustratingly hot. “It’s not the first time I’ve been mistaken for a famous person’s girlfriend.”
For some reason, he winced. “Right. Sorry.”
Awkward silence settled between them. His shoulders were still slumped, giving him the appearance of a drooping, withered flower. Had the fans bothered him that much? Or was he worried that he had ruined her beach trip?
She nudged his arm with her shoulder. “Hey, wanna finish the sandcastle?”
The light returned to his eyes, and he shot up with a grin. “Yes!”
They knelt beside each other and dug their fingers into the sand to create the moat. The bridge was trickier, but they managed to find some sticks to give the illusion of a drawbridge.
“Marinette,” he said once it was finished, his tone as reverent as if he were a father seeing his newborn baby for the first time. “Look at it. It’s beautiful.”
She laughed. “It’s not bad.”
“We have to give it a name.”
“Huh?”
“A name! This is our creation!”
She shook her head, giggling. “Fine, fine. What shall we call our castle?”
He made a humming sound and tapped his chin. “How about
 Chat Dupain-Cheng Castle?”
“Come again?”
“What? I think it has a nice ring.”
Her cheeks warmed. “Umm, it’s just
 it kinda sounds like
 you’re married to me.”
“Oh.” A blush spread all over his face where the mask didn’t cover. “Right.”
Another awkward pause.
“What about Sandybridge Castle?” she suggested.
“Sounds great.”
“Great.”
He held out his fist. She bumped it with hers. Neither met the other’s gaze.
oOo
It was time to pack up and head to the train station. Marinette rummaged around the wet, sandy towels, hunting for the sunblock she had misplaced.
“Here,” Chat Noir said, holding it out to her. “It somehow got in Rose’s bag.”
“Thanks.”
She finished packing her bag and zipped it up. Chat stayed by her, fidgeting with his glove.
“Um, Marinette?” he said.
“Yeah?”
“I just wanted to thank you.”
Her brow creased and she stood up. “For what?”
“I haven’t been able to go to the beach for a long time, and you really made it fun for me today. So thanks.”
He pulled her into a hug, unexpected and warm. She froze in surprise before relaxing into his arms. The softest of smiles curved her lips.
“Anytime, Chat.”

pretty thing | caliban imagine
Tumblr media
a/n: hello! this is my very first oneshot for caliban, as well as my first time writing again in over two years... please be patient with me, any mistakes or errors are my own. if you want to request something caliban related, just message me! i’ll be happy to write for you! also, feedback is always appreciated! thank you.
plot: you and caliban get up to some fun in Hell’s library.
warnings: fem!reader, manipulation, cocky caliban, sexual tension, fluff but not really??
˚✧₊♡⁎âșËł.‱
Caliban didn’t know what to make of you.
You confused him, so oblivious of his affection towards you. Caliban was drawn to you the moment he felt your presence, lingering next to the daughter of the Dark Lord, Sabrina Spellman.
Your bright eyes, shining in interest at the setting around you. Completely unaware of the hungry looks half the court was making at you, it made his insides burn. Unfortunately, he could do little to stop it. You weren’t his, you didn’t belong to him. The only thing Caliban could do was watch you from afar, making sure nothing happened to you, he made sure you were safe. That nobody would lay a finger on you or he’d drag them to Hell himself and make sure that their bodies were unrecognizable once he was finished. He could be cruel, he was aware of that already, but for you — he wasn’t sure how far he’d go to make sure that nobody would harm you. The thought alone infuriated him and he had no idea why.
You would often accompany Sabrina to Hell, asking if she could bring you along since the first time you went to Hell, something making you want to go back to that horrid place again and again — you just didn’t know what exactly what or rather more, who it was. It all started when you, Roz, Theo, Harvey and Sabrina went to Hell to get Sabrina’s boyfriend back.
You weren’t completely sure what it was, but the feeling was there all around you. You felt warm, protected and safe. You didn’t know if the warmth came from Hell itself, but you knew for sure that Hell wasn’t exactly a safe place... If anything, you’d most likely be killed the moment a demon laid their greedy eyes on you.
Sabrina listened to you, at first thinking that you’ve gone mental, but after hearing you out she decided that it wouldn’t hurt. As long as you stayed close to her and didn’t wander off, then you could go. The only downside was that you had to wear a pair of deadman shoes again.
Today was your third time in Hell, Sabrina was sitting on the throne discussing business with Lilith as usual, the only unusual thing was that there was now a man there that you recognized from the ‘Shores of Sorrow’. He was standing next to the Plague King’s, whispering to each other while the nameless man, with dirty blond hair and flawless skin, watched you with piercing eyes.
You didn’t know who he was, just that he was gorgeous and apparently likes building sandcastles. He also seems to like watching you, since the moment you’ve arrived, he hasn’t looked away. His eyes were intense, his face blank of emotion and he did nothing but stand there with the Kings and listen, occasionally giving a nod of understanding.
You swallowed, shrinking more and more into the corner, until Sabrina called your name. You had to practically tear your eyes away from the man, or else he’d probably think you’re the crazy one. You looked up to find Sabrina frowning at you, before opening her mouth. “Why don’t you and I hit the library? Lilith was just telling me that Hell has its very own personal library, one that my father used to use when he wanted to be alone. It has all these ancient texts and I know how much you love to read.”
You smiled softly, nodding. “Yeah, that sounds lovely. Show me the way, ‘Brina.” Sabrina smiled brightly, before taking your hand into hers and leading you to the library. Once the two of you got there, Lilith immediately pops up in a tornado of raging flames, giving Sabrina a hard glare. “I told you that you could visit the library after your duties were finished for the day.â€ïżŒ
Sabrina looked sheepish, opening her mouth to make up an excuse, but you beat her right to it. “Oh, Sabrina was just showing me the way here since she knows how much I love to read, she was afraid I’d get lost and felt that I needed to escape since I looked a little out of place,” you replied smoothly.
Lilith looked like she didn’t believe you, which she probably didn’t, but she nodded anyways. “Quite. You will stay here until Sabrina is finished, and then, and only then, she will come back to collect you to bring you back home, mortals don’t belong here anyways.”
You frowned, “Alright.” Sabrina shook her head, clearly disapproving of the way Lilith seemed to talk down at you, instead of with you. “Come Sabrina, we still have much to discuss.” Lilith spoke, clearly feeling impatient by the way she was tapping her foot against the hard marble. Sabrina gave you an apologetic look, promising you that she wouldn’t be long.
Once the two of them left, you went ahead and went through the many islesïżŒ of bookshelves. This had to be the biggest library you’ve ever stepped foot into, it was at least twenty times bigger than the one at the Academy, it just had to be.
You roamed the different isles of books, running your fingertips over the spines of books gently. You wondered if you could do some research and find out why you were so drawn to Hell. As you collected the books you found that would be helpful, you made your way to the back of the library, seeing a bunch of cherry-wooden tables lined up with chairs for your pleasure.
You grinned, grateful as you hurriedly dropped the books on the table with a huff, they were absolutely heavy. You sat down, taking the first book in your view and opening it up, trailing your finger down the table of contents. Of course, there was a massive fireplace crackling away, keeping the library warm and comfortable.
A hour had passed, with you already halfway through the giant book when you heard the large, oak doors slam shut. You jumped, easily spooked out by the loud sound. You lifted your head, wincing slightly from your neck cracking. “Hello?” you asked, wondering if Sabrina had returned.
Nobody answered.
You were certain that you heard the doors to the library open and close, so you decided to get up and investigate. With your heart pounding against your ribcage frantically, you carefully got up and made your way to the nearest isle of books. With a shaky breath, you called out again. “Sabrina? Is that you?” Maybe whoever it was couldn’t hear you since this place was so massive, but it was so quiet in here... surely, that couldn’t be the case.
You walked slowly, your sneakers luckily not making any noise which you were thankful for. You heard another sound suddenly, and it sounded like a cry for help, a woman’s cry. “H-Hello? Please answer me,” you begged, beginning to really panic now. The crying grew closer with each step you took, seeming to get louder and louder as the person crying was full on screaming now, shaking the walls of this place.
You quickly ran down the long isle, not noticing a pair of eyes on you. As you went to go another way, the crying stopped. It was silent, except from your heavy breathing.
“You have the most beautiful heartbeat.”
You let out a loud cry, grabbing a heavy book from the shelf and swinging it at the intruder behind you, before they abruptly grasped your wrist tightly to stop your movements.
It was the man from the beach.
Your eyes immediately widened, “Y-You again, how did you—“
“I followed you. Figured a pretty thing like you shouldn’t be left alone down here, where anything could get to you and tear up that pretty face of yours.”
Your eyebrows furrowed, making your nose scrunch up a bit. “Who are you?” you asked, your voice stern, eyes ablazed. “You nearly gave me a heart attack, I thought someone was hurt or worse—“
“I’m sorry I frightened you, sweetheart. But I must admit, I do like a game of cat and mouse quite a lot. As for who I am, I’m Caliban, Prince of Hell,” Caliban spoke, his voice deep and smooth like velvet.
You instantly felt your heart sink at his words, like a giant grenade bomb going off in you. “Oh,” you spoke dumbly. “Prince of Hell?” you questioned, still slightly shaken from this whole encounter. Caliban, the Prince of Hell, smiled. It was breathtaking. Caliban hummed softly, still holding your wrists in his strong grasp. “What would the Prince of Hell be doing following a mortal girl like me?” you wondered aloud.
Caliban chuckled softly, finally letting go of you and taking a step back, running long fingers through his blond hair lazily. “I’ve been following you, for the last couple of weeks... don’t tell me you haven’t felt my presence near you, I know that you could feel me,” Caliban purred, taking a step towards you, daringly.
Your mouth went dry, not sure you heard him correctly. “But why? You don’t know me, I’m just—“
“Beautiful,” Caliban interrupted, his voice low as his eyes seemed to dilate. You let out a nervous laugh, shifting from foot to foot. Caliban’s pink lips curled up into a smirk, “Would you like to join me in bed?”
Your eyes nearly popped out of your head, “What? No! I don’t—I don’t even know you! You could kill me!” Caliban let out a small laugh at your naive tone, backing you up against a bookshelf, his arms trapping you. Your breathing increased, pressing your back against the shelf until the hard wood was digging into your back uncomfortably, making you let out a small wince. His eyes lit up at the noise.
“I won’t hurt you, not unless you enjoy pain,” Caliban spoke, looking down at you with a hungry look in his eyes. Caliban bent so that his face was just mere centimeters away from yours, now breathing the same air as you. The familiar feelings of warmth surrounded you again, but you didn’t feel safe this time. Your lips parted, about to tell this guy to fuck off, but Caliban was quicker, pressing his lips against yours desperately.
You let out a low whine, immediately gripping Caliban’s arms just as he deepened the kiss, swiping his hot tongue over your bottom lip, making you whimper. You didn’t even notice, but you began kissing him back just as fiercely, craving his hot mouth on yours. “Please,” you begged, brokenly. You didn’t know what you were asking from him, but he seemed to know exactly what you needed.
Caliban pressed his entire body against yours, your nipples hardening at the feel of his hard body against your own. Caliban brought up his right hand, cupping the side of your face while continuing to kiss you passionately, his tongue now stroking yours eagerly, his thumb gently stroking your jaw. The Prince of Hell noticed how sensitive you were, he could smell the honey pooling between your legs. It was making him crazy, feral almost.
“Let me fuck you,” Caliban rasped, pulling only a inch away, grinding his hardness into your hips, making you let out a shaky moan. You didn’t know what the fuck was going on, one minute you were desperate to get away from this man, the next he had you pinned up against a bookshelf, kissing you senseless.
You were about to respond, but the library doors slammed open, your eyes following the sound of footsteps grow closer and closer. You swallowed, your skin beginning to feel damp with sweat. A voice you recognizedïżŒ called your name, making your heart begin to race once again. It was Sabrina. “You have to go,” you pleaded Caliban, who only seemed annoyed at being interrupted from his time with you.
A idea seemed to pop into his head only a second later, his lips forming a gorgeous smirk, “No,” he purred, bending down so that his lips ghosted over your ear. His lips began trailing down your neck, peppering wet kisses against your soft skin, lightly sucking on your pulse point.
You let out a needy moan, throwing your head back with a soft thump as it collided with the hard bookshelf, though you paid it little attention, too focused on this man that was making your legs weak.
Sabrina’s voice broke you out of your little world once again, startling you. She was coming closer. “Pretty thing. Are you scared of your friend finding us back here?” Caliban growled, nipping lightly at your neck before he pressed his lips against yours once more, his arms wrapping around you tightly. “She’d be so disappointed with you...” he trailed off, leaving you to your dark thoughts. “Just think, you’re getting felt up by the one person who your dear friend Sabrina is fighting against to claim the throne of Hell, is now about to fuck her best friend in the back of her father’s library. How scandalous,” he tutted, before letting out a soft laugh as he pressed another kiss against your plump lips.
“N-No, you can’t,” you wailed, trying to break free of his power over you. Caliban smiled, shaking his head. “Yes, I can.” Tears were prickling at your eyes, making them burn with angst. “Please, Caliban—I’ll do anything,” you whimpered.
Caliban seemed to pause at your words, hearing Sabrina’s heels clicking against the marble flooring, most likely trying to find you in this maze, but unbeknownst to both of you, Caliban had the two of you cloaked. Caliban pulled back slightly, looking at the tears pooling in your pretty eyes. He frowned, letting out a aggravated sigh. “Anything?”
You nodded frantically, your lips parting to try and compromise with this man. “Yes,” you breathed. “I promise.”
Caliban smiled, showing off his straight, white teeth. “Alright, well since you promise...” he trailed off, playfully. Caliban looked at you for a minute longer, savoring the way you looked to his memory. You were perfect in his eyes.
“I’ll be waiting for you tonight,” Caliban said, pulling away from you, though staying close. “Make sure you’re awake, or I’ll be very displeased.”
“Tonight?” you asked, puzzled.
“In your bedroom, midnight. See you then, pretty thing.”
With that being said, Caliban disappeared into a whirl of flames, making you jump. The second he was gone, Sabrina came around the corner, a smile on her face. “There you are! Sweet Satan, I was looking all over for you. Are you okay? I’m so sorry I left you alone, but business in Hell is a little... overwhelming.”
You shook your head, smiling as you tried blinking away your tears. “I’m fine, let’s get out of here, yeah?”
Sabrina sighed, nodding at you. “Absolutely, I’m starving. You want to grab something to eat? Maybe we can catch a movie later to, if you’re willing to stay over.”
You agreed happily, “Sure, I just can’t be out too late.”
Sabrina wiggled her eyebrows at you, walking by your side to the entrance of the library. “Ooh, you’ve got plans with someone or something?”
You grinned, your heart pounding in your chest at the thought of him. “Or something.”
Sabrina laughed, taking your hand so that she could bring you back to earth. You would never openly admit it, but you were looking forward to later that night.

8-years-old
"Lloyd! The water's here!" Colette called out, setting down the heavy bucket filled with water next to Lloyd. Mission accomplished, and without a single hitch! Mostly. She wasn't going to mention how she nearly spilt all of the water when another girl's arm missed her by a hair's width. Or how her heart was still pounding from the close call. "We can get started with the sandcastle now." Lloyd was so occupied pushing sand into one giant pile that he hadn't even noticed her approach.
Having finally gotten his attention, Lloyd stared at her blankly for a few seconds before seeming to come to his senses. Scrambling to his feet, he began to shovel the pile of sand into the bucket. Overhead, a seagull's cry rent the air, barely audible over the screaming of all the children and adults on the beach that was packed to the brim, the two vastly different in tone. "Thanks, Colette! We might need another bucket of water, though. I don't think this is enough."
"Oh, I can -"
"Nah, I'll get the next one. It would only be fair!" Lloyd grinned a toothy smile at her, prominently displaying the gap from the baby tooth that had merrily vacated his mouth last week. She herself currently had a loose tooth that she absent-mindedly pushed at with her tongue, until she pushed too hard and caused a slight stab of pain. It would likely fall out soon.
"Come on, then! This sandcastle won't build itself alone!" Lloyd said, grabbing her hand with his, rough with the individual granules of sand sticking to it.
Colette giggled and joined him, attempting to lift some of the wet sand from the bucket to start making the base of their castle - only to find that the sand seemed to have solidified into one giant clump that refused to budge from its snug home. Every attempt to separate a tiny handful yielded a sucking sound that seemed to make the sand stick together even more, ever more determined to stay with their granular siblings. With a final huff, she put all her strength behind her arms - only to flop back down onto the beach with nothing in her hands.
"That's - hard!" Lloyd grunted, faced with a similar predicament and having no choice but to give up. The sand would remain in the bucket for the foreseeable future, it seemed. He wiped his hands on his red swimming trunks before offering it to Colette, helping her back up.
"Didn't think the sand would stick together this much," Colette muttered. This was why her father had advised them not to use a bucket, huh? She stole a glance towards the collection of colourful beach umbrellas that was close by, where their parents were taking shelter from the sun. They were sitting on the same striped picnic blanket where breakfast had occurred earlier, having a relaxed conversation over cans of lemonade while keeping a watchful eye on the two of them. Noishe was there too, taking a morning nap by the blanket.
Spotting Colette, her father waved cheerily, before taking another chug from his can.
She and Lloyd had been so excited to finally visit the beach during the March Holidays. They'd been jumping up and down on the car seats, sticking their noses into the window, and chattering non-stop on the journey here, giving Noishe, curled up on Lloyd's lap, no peace to sleep in. Her father, who had been sitting with them in the backseat, had just watched with an exasperated smile, having given up on asking them to calm down when his pleas had fallen on deaf ears.
The two of them would finally get to see the breathtaking ocean they had witnessed multiple times when watching The Little Mermaid, their favourite movie to watch together. Lloyd loved the vibrant ocean and the possibility of an entire unexplored world full of magic under the waves. She liked the colours and the cute designs, and the absolutely beautiful story of true love overcoming all. They’d watched it one time too many, until Flounder and Sebastian easily visited her in her dreams.
Aunt Anna had made clear upon their arrival her two conditions for letting them in the ocean. Firstly, that an adult had to accompany them at all times. Understandable, given the terrifying power of the ocean with its roiling waves, that had only been impressed on her upon actually seeing it with her own eyes. Secondly, and expectedly, that they had to wait an hour after breakfast, the familiar argument of "You have to digest all those cheese sandwiches!" leaving Aunt Anna's mouth.
They might as well make the most of the one hour, so Colette had suggested building a sandcastle to pass the time. It was one of the activities that she thought was a must-do for a first-time beach trip. After all, where else were they going to find all the sand they needed?
Lloyd had happily agreed. She was glad to see him finally perk up after wilting a little at the reminder that he needed to wait - days were much better when they were both smiling, and it wouldn't do for Lloyd to spend his first time at the beach with a frown on his face. So they'd dug up the shovels and the buckets from the car's trunk and set out to make the best sandcastle ever, one that reached the sky! They weren't going to let their lack of experience hinder them!
Perhaps that goal was a tad too ambitious. But that sure wouldn't stop her from trying!
Having made zero progress in getting the sand out of the bucket, Lloyd resorted to upending the bucket and slamming on the bottom with his hands until the sand all came out in a single bucket-shaped mound. Colette spared a worried glance at the plastic bucket, which had let out a groan. She had no clue how sturdy it was. Hopefully, it wouldn't break.
"Come on, Colette, let's do this!"
"Yeah!"
Lloyd knelt to start tamping the sand into shape, and Colette joined him.
"Could you pass the shovel?"
"We're out of water again!"
"How about we try doing this?"
Those were the only words that left their mouths as they worked together, their hands brushing. There was also the occasional peal of laughter that slipped out of either of them at something funny the other had done. Otherwise, they were in perfect sync, without the need to talk. They could just adapt to the other's actions. She remained focussed on her task, tuning out the sounds of life around her and getting her hands covered in sand, until there was even sand under her nails.
The sun continued to get higher on its arc, its rays falling on all the bare skin revealed by her navy blue one-piece swimsuit. It felt like she was roasting alive. Sweat ran down the sides of her face and her throat was dry. A can of cold lemonade sounded really nice now. She was glad, at least, that their parents had insisted they put on sunscreen, and had helped slather the two of them in it from head to toe, Lloyd squirming the whole time. If not for that, she would surely have an excruciating sunburn by now. From what she'd seen of her classmates who had returned from last year's March Holidays with red and peeling skin, she was glad to avoid it.
They made steady progress, bar the few close calls where she nearly flung the shovel into the sandcastle. It slowly took shape with a few more water-gathering trips and repeats of the not very effective bucket-slamming tactic, until finally, it was complete. Even the bucket had survived all the abuse! Colette sat back on her haunches to observe their handiwork, a smile lighting up her face.
Their masterpiece.
Okay, it wasn't a masterpiece. It was nowhere near perfect, or even amazing.
A messy tower stood before her eyes, tapering from a wide base to a thin top. It was tiny at thirty centimetres high. From the middle onwards, the tower slanted to the side, a result of Lloyd pushing just a bit too hard. It resembled the Leaning Tower of Pizza now, but, just like that mysterious tower, their tower was still standing through some unknown magic. Using a random stick he’d picked up off the sand, Lloyd had etched a smiley face with wobbly lines into the side of the tower. He'd stuck the stick into the top to act as a flag, exclaiming that the Disney castle had a flag on top of the main building, so theirs would too! She'd also dug a trench, in which Lloyd had poured the extra seawater remaining in the bucket to create a moat. Now no villain could mount a successful attack on their castle! Not even the Goombas or turtles they stomped every weekend in Super Mario Brothers.
The moat had dried up in seconds as the surrounding sand had absorbed the water, but it was the effort that counted. And it looked cool for a while!
Their castle was pretty average compared to the other ones she could see on the beach, and most definitely was nothing compared to the grand, detailed designs she had seen that one time on TV. But she had fun building it, and it was something she'd made together with Lloyd, so it was worth being proud over. That was all that mattered.
It was nice to imagine their castle standing here for all eternity, even if she knew it wouldn't last once they left. She and Lloyd's castle, powerful and durable, even against the worst of enemies!
"Looks good!" A hand landed on her head, prompting Colette to look up and see Aunt Anna waving a polaroid camera around. She could see her reflection, wide-eyed and smiling, in the sunglasses resting on the bridge of Aunt Anna’s nose. Aunt Anna must really love that pair of sunglasses; she always wore them whenever she was driving her and Lloyd to school in the mornings. To protect her eyes from the sun, and to look stylish while doing so? Who knew.
Aunt Anna had put on a giant sunhat, the brim so wide that it cast a shadow over Colette's face. "Come on, let me take a picture of you two with the sandcastle!" Aunt Anna said, raising the polaroid camera to her eye and miming clicking the button.
After a bunch of poking and prodding from Aunt Anna to get them into the best position, with loud protests from Lloyd’s end, they were finally ready to have their photo taken. For the sandcastle to actually show up in the picture, they had to stand behind it. Lloyd looped his arm around her shoulder, while she gave Lloyd bunny ears with her fingers. She would never give up the opportunity to do so. "Say cheese!" Aunt Anna yelled, raising the polaroid camera with a massive smile and clicking the button, the camera emitting a flash of light that blinded Colette for an instant.
"Can I move now, Mom? And can we finally go swimming? Pleaseeeeee?" Lloyd whined, plopping back down onto the sand before he even received his answer. Colette blinked rapidly, still trying to get rid of the spots in her vision.
"Oh, the pictures are gonna turn out sooooo cute," Aunt Anna muttered, retrieving the printed-out polaroid from the camera and beginning to shake it, waiting for it to develop. She glanced at Lloyd, sulking in the sand, and gave him the thumbs-up. Lloyd perked up immediately and scrambled to his feet to run off, only to stop in his tracks after hearing Aunt Anna's next words. "Wait a moment, would you? Your father is gonna follow you and he's still coming over."
"Dad! Hurry up!" Lloyd yelled, impatiently hopping from one leg to the other as Uncle Kratos leisurely walked over. Noishe, having finally caught up on his beauty sleep, ran over too, barking in excitement. Colette giggled, crouching down and reaching her hand out for Noishe to bump his snout against with every round he made around Lloyd's legs. Would Noishe be joining them in the ocean? It was against the rules to bring dogs into the swimming pool, but there was no such rule here. Maybe Noishe secretly liked water! There was no better chance to find out!
And the more the merrier!
"No going further than the bobbing spheres, okay? And stay close to your father!"
"I know, Mom! I know! You told me this three times already!"
"Just checking," Anna replied cheerfully, ruffling Lloyd's hair and prompting a scowl to pop onto Lloyd’s face.
"You got it too, right?" Her father asked her, having come up behind her.
"Yes, Dad!" Colette replied, getting to her feet and preparing to run down to the ocean. "I promise I'll -"
Unfortunately, Colette didn’t get to finish her sentence. One small step forward and her foot caught instantly against the spare shovel still sticking up in the sand, which had completely escaped her notice. Everyone, even Noishe, stopped what they were doing. All three adults stretched out their arms in a desperate attempt to stop her fall, but they were too far away to have any hope of catching her. Flailing her arms, she fell, the world seeming to go by in slow motion as the tower of golden sand became increasingly larger in her vision.
Until she crashed right through the tower she and Lloyd had spent the last hour crafting, in her unstoppable path to face-planting on the beach. Her hand felt the roughness of tightly-packed sand as that sand exploded in every direction. Closing her eyes against the rain of sand, she threw her arms out to cushion her fall, finally landing on the sand.
The action now over, Colette pushed herself into a sitting position, wincing. No visible wounds anywhere. No blood. No lasting pain. At least the sand was somewhat soft.
Oh no
 Heart sinking in her chest, she stared at the mess that had once been a glorious sandcastle, now just a sad misshapen mound of sand. The top of the tower had been scattered everywhere.
She could feel everyone’s eyes on her, an awkward silence arising even as noise continued to surround them. She'd ruined everything with her clumsiness again... She wanted to hide, but there was nowhere to hide out here in the open. Maybe she could dig a hole in the sand and hide forever...
"Colette! Are you alright?" Lloyd’s voice broke the silence, a helping hand offered to her as he stared down in concern.
"Yeah." She took his hand, using her other to try brushing off the grains of sand now sticking to her whole body. There was so much... She'd never get all of it off. She opened her mouth, ready to apologise.
“Come on, there’s no time!” Lloyd interrupted before she could even say anything, tugging on her hand as he had done before. She was being pulled in the direction of the waves, stumbling a little in surprise at the sudden movement. “Our castle was attacked by enemies, and they’ve fled to the water! We need to pursue them! Right?”
Lloyd winked at her, a huge grin on his face. She could read the message in his actions loud and clear: there was no need to apologise. Just get back to the fun!
“Right!” She replied, wiping the hesitance from her expression and replacing it with a smile, worries already forgotten. The ocean would be one solution to all the sand stuck to her skin!
“Race you!” Lloyd yelled, letting go of her hand and abruptly taking off. She cried out indignantly in response, chasing after him as fast as she could, Noishe following hot on their heels with his tongue lolling out of his mouth, ears flapping up and down. Their yells about being first to get in the ocean reached Kratos’ ears, who simply sighed at their familiar antics.
~~~
“Here,” Lloyd said, pressing something small into her palm. He and Colette were both drenched from head to toe from all the swimming and water wars that had occurred. The tips of her hair brushed her shoulders, leaving tiny trails of water behind and causing water droplets to slide down her arms. Not even Noishe had been spared, shaking his matted fur furiously. The water had been colder than she'd expected, but all the running around had helped to combat it. In fact, she was exhausted from all the activity, the smile on her face so wide her cheeks hurt and her throat hoarse from all the screaming and laughter.
Now that they were on dry ground again, they were standing by the picnic blanket, waiting for their parents to return with towels. Whereafter their parents would hold the familiar ritual of smothering them with towels, squeezing each strand of hair dry.
In her hand was a seashell, rough against her skin - not the stereotypical blue ones that were always on the pages of the Chinese textbook whenever the ocean was mentioned, with its fan shape and equally-spaced out ridges - but rather an off-white colour, fantastically curved with little spikes sticking out of it to form a geometric pattern. It had a gaping opening that revealed its pink insides.
“Dad said it's called a conch shell,” Lloyd explained. “Snails hide in them, but this one is empty. I found it just now!”
“Oh, it’s so pretty! I haven’t been able to find any...” She’d been scouring the beach to no success. The most she’d spotted among the sand were tiny fragments of what had once been seashells, smashed to smithereens by the wrath of the ocean.
“Put it against your ear! I tried it, and it really works!”
“The sound of the ocean...?”
Colette lifted the conch shell, aligning the hole with her ear and closing her eyes to listen closely, covering her other ear with her hand. She and Lloyd had read about this many times before - how a shell contained the entire ocean within it.
And it did. It was a strange, mysterious sound - like there was water within the small shell lapping against its walls, somehow, even though that wasn’t the case, for any water would have leaked out of the opening by now. It was almost like she herself was surrounded by the ocean, as the shell in her hand must have been as it was carried by the currents to stop on this beach. What a lonely journey that must have been, alone in the deep darkness.
She opened her eyes to see Lloyd’s smiling face, his hand gently pulling hers away from her ears.
“Did you hear it?”
“Yeah. That was incredible...”
“Well, the shell is for you.” Lloyd gestured, grinning.
“Oh, really?” She gasped. “No, you found it, so it should be yours!”
Colette tried to pass it back to Lloyd, but he refused. He only closed her fingers around the shell with his hand before hopping just out of arm's reach. Infuriating.
“Nah, it’s fine! Keep it! I insist!”
Colette pouted, knowing Lloyd wouldn’t budge on the issue. There were times she wished he wasn’t so stubborn. There was no way she was going to win this.
“I’m sorry I can’t give you one in return
 I can try and find one now!” she suggested, already scanning the beach as she took a step forward.
“No need for that!” Lloyd reassured her, returning to her side and grabbing her arm to stop her. “Mom said we aren’t staying here for much longer after we’re done cleaning up. You can just make it up to me some other time.”
“Alright! That’s a promise, then. Thank you for the gift,” Colette said, feeling the ridges of the seashell dig into her skin as she tightened her hold. They had gifted each other little trinkets like these many times before, mostly curious objects they came across whenever they played at the playground. She kept every single gift from Lloyd, just as she would this one. Anything she got from her best friend was precious.
Colette could see the adults walking over in the corner of her vision, holding the aforementioned towels and
 Popsicles! Oh, those would be delicious. But it also meant her time at the beach was coming to a close.
Colette knew she wouldn’t ever forget this day. This sunny day, filled with joy, fun and wonder
28-years-old
"Remember this one?" Lloyd laughed, pointing to the open scrapbook sitting in his lap. His finger sat on a polaroid that was held in place on the page by 4 pieces of cellophane tape, one of which was crooked, and another of which was starting to peel. Colette tapped her finger on the yellowing polaroid as well, recalling how she had gotten it from Aunt Anna and proceeded to stick it in her sketchbook. Words filled the rest of the page, denoting the events of the day, together with a doodle of a seagull sitting on a giant seashell. If she recalled correctly, this was one of the last pages of her scrapbook before she'd gotten too busy to keep it up. It was fun while it lasted, though, absolutely cramming the border of each page with a horrendous amount of washi tape.
She and Lloyd's happy faces peered up at her from the polaroid, a tiny, not very impressive sandcastle visible in front of them. The weather on that day, a foggy memory but not forgotten, for it could never be truly forgotten, couldn't be any more of a contrast to the rain currently slapping against the windows of their apartment, turning the world outside into pure white as the rain obscured all. The wind howled and caused the window panes to rattle in their housings. The air was chilly, fogging up the windows and further blocking their view of the world outside.
Colette should have been shivering on the bed in her denim shorts, but she was nice and toasty instead, legs covered by a thick blanket. She was resting against the backboard, legs stretched out, hair falling to mid-back in messy tangles. The blanket itself had the sewn pattern of dogs doing various things: jumping over fences, dozing off on clouds, running with bones in their mouths. It was adorable! And most of all, it reminded her of another dog who used to run circles around her feet and snuggle on the blankets with her, but who was no longer with them.
She’d even gone the extra mile and put on socks and a hoodie. Lloyd had taken one look at her and
 hadn’t done anything else, because this was normal behaviour from her when she was cold. He’d long since accepted it.
Plus, she was leaning against the ultimate source of warmth! Lloyd, who was also under the blanket, legs pressed snugly against hers. Just as always, he could somehow survive the cold in just jeans and an old T-shirt, showing absolutely no signs of being affected. No shivers, nothing. It was impressive. He took "warm-blooded" to the next level.
Her entire body still felt tingly from the cups of hot coffee that Lloyd had brewed in the kitchen earlier. He’d done hers perfectly without even having to ask, the knowledge of how to do so having long been ingrained in his memory. “Precisely half a teaspoon of sugar and half a cup of milk,” he’d said in a sing-song manner, the warm orange of the kitchen’s ceiling light falling upon him and his gentle smile as she’d stood next to him cutting apples. The rhythmic sound of the knife hitting the cutting board, the clinking of the metal spoon against the side of the porcelain cup, and the thudding of raindrops against the window had been the only sounds filling the kitchen.
They’d drunk the coffee first, backs against the countertop and their eyes meeting across the rims of their cups, his hand finding hers in the little space between them. The hot liquid had slid down their throats with ease, settling warm in their bellies. Having drunk his coffee all at one go as he always did, Lloyd had waited for her to finish. He hadn’t said a single word, preferring to maintain the comfortable silence. The only thing he’d done was rub her fingers with his thumb.
They’d then taken turns popping the apple slices in each other’s mouths, the flesh crunchy when they sank their teeth into it, the sweet juice from the fresh fruit a refreshing contrast from the bitter liquid they’d just consumed. Lloyd, as messy an eater as always, had left little bits of apple at the corner of his mouth like tiny yellow spots that she’d had to brush away with her fingers.
Today was Sunday, the day where they both didn't have work to do, unless they were handling some big project with a pending deadline, and had some time to themselves. Their favourite activities to do on this wonderful day of the week included marathoning Disney movies, playing video games together, and going out to their favourite destinations. They also weren't opposed to just lounging on bed together, or taking some alone time.
But today was also a rainy day. She'd actually been woken up by the first claps of thunder in the early morning. The rain had no business being this heavy after the conclusion of the monsoon season, but Mother Nature was fickle, and they could do nothing but accept their given lot. No going out to the Botanic Gardens as they'd originally planned. The only thing they could do was stay home, unless they wanted to catch a cold on purpose.
It was Lloyd who had found her old scrapbook in a corner of their room while aimlessly wandering around the apartment, the book having gathered a thin layer of dust that made her sneeze when he brought it over. She'd forgotten it was sitting on one of the shelves. He had suggested looking over it, since they had nothing better to do. They had just gone through Frozen, Tangled and The Little Mermaid last week - the plots were still fresh in their minds. More fresh than usual. She could recite the entire script of The Little Mermaid from memory if she needed to.
What better time was there to reminisce than with their second anniversary coming up? What better place to do so than in the bedroom they shared, its corners teeming with keepsakes and memories, absolutely overflowing with their love for each other? Just being in here for a minute was enough to make her heart feel warm.
The framed pictures hanging on the walls and sitting on the nightstand - of them and their parents; of the two of them under a sky full of stars; of them and their friends, laughing and popping bottles of wine, fitted in elegant dresses and stylish suits. There were many more pictures, kept in the various albums lining the bookshelf above the bed, which she occasionally took down to look through on days when she was feeling rather nostalgic. Staring up at her from the pages were contented faces from all throughout time, allowing her to track her progress from days long past to the person she was today.
The Siberian Husky plushie she was currently hugging to her chest. The soft fur felt incredible to the touch, and it was so comforting to just run her hands through the fur, tightening her fingers on tufts of it. Behind those beady black eyes were more, however, a significance that no one else but herself could see. A precious memory of a carnival and the time they were finally honest with each other; a step she had been terrified to take but which she’d mustered up the courage to, in order to join Lloyd at the other end of the open door and grab the encouraging hand he offered her. She had stumbled many times along the way, but Lloyd had steadied her every time. She’d gambled on the chance, but it had all been worth it - for she had managed to find her home in Lloyd, and it had all led to the beautiful life she led today, where she got to see his happiness every day.
The wall painted over with galaxies, swirls of pinks and purples and blues, and a single adorable dog in a spacesuit, which they had hand-painted when they first moved in until they were both splattered with paint and giggling.
And of course, the two matching, nondescript metal bands, one lying atop the other on the nightstand.
"You destroyed the sandcastle not soon after, right?" Lloyd said.
"Hey!" Colette pouted, poking Lloyd's side. "Don't tease me."
Lloyd shifted his body away from her attacking finger, still smiling warmly. "I'm not teasing you. I'm just stating what happened." He turned around and retaliated by poking her on the nose, sending her reeling back in a fit of giggles. "It was fun, though!"
"It was," she agreed, struggling to hold back further laughter, bubbling up within her chest like an uncontrollable fountain. “You gifted me a conch shell afterwards. Remember?”
“Of course I remember, silly. It’s sitting on your shelf right now.”
That it was. She’d kept it all these years, the passage of time causing its colour to fade. In all other aspects, it was perfectly conserved, looking just the same as it had on the day he’d pressed it into her hand. She lifted it up to her ear sometimes, just to listen to the sound of the ocean.
Colette flipped to the next page of the scrapbook, looking over all of the memories contained there. Her childhood had been filled with joy, in no small part due to Lloyd, who took every opportunity he could to make her days fun-filled and exciting as he strived to make her face light up with a smile. There were moments where she was suddenly overwhelmed with a great sense of gratefulness for the fact that, out of an infinite number of possible outcomes, she had met Lloyd when she was young. For she was so incredibly fortunate, more fortunate than most, to have met someone who loved and accepted her for everything that she was.
She placed one hand on his cheek, fingers splayed, and turned his head to face her, his warmth spreading through her cold fingers from that one point of contact. Lloyd leaned automatically into her touch.
“Colette...?” Lloyd whispered, leaning automatically into her touch. His eyes searched hers, as he slowly came to understand what she was about to do. This close, she could make out each individual eyelash, attached to the eyelids that fluttered closed over russet eyes. Most people would conclude Lloyd was plain. Average, even. There’d been people who asked her upfront why she’d chosen to settle for him, when according to their honest opinion, her beauty could have landed her much better. They didn’t understand. She was the one fortunate enough to know his love and the miracle of such an incredible person staying by her side when there were so many things she couldn’t give him. A relationship with any other person would have been easier for him, filled with far less of a need for compromise, but he’d chosen her in the end.
Besides, there was beauty in plainness. The daisies that were ignored in favour of the orchids, the mynahs that were overlooked for the orioles. There was beauty to be found there, in the most ordinary of things, the ones people saw every day and had ceased to notice. It was a beauty she itched to capture.
Lloyd, to her, was the most beautiful of them all, a rare treasure that had somehow landed in her hands.
“Shh,” she whispered in return, eyes fluttering shut as she closed the small distance between them. She pressed her lips against his slowly, trying to push behind this one action - the gift she was currently giving - every ounce of the love and appreciation she felt at the moment, enough to fill her heart to the brim. It’d been a while since she’d done this. Two months, maybe? It was a little overdue, having slipped her mind for a time as it always did, no matter how hard she tried to remember. If not for the reminder that had pinged on her phone this morning and made the issue fresh in her mind again, she might have gone another month. She’d have to give him more soon, as per her end of the compromise they had both agreed upon when they’d first started dating, which had served them well all these years. He'd said before that he was alright with getting nothing at all, but that didn't sit right with her. She didn't think it would be fair for him to be the only person giving something up.
Kisses and anything further were always up to her to initiate, since Lloyd, as he’d told her time and time again, wanted her to be comfortable in everything she did. He’d never forced anything on her, content to wait patiently for her to feel ready, whether it be in an hour, a day, a year, or never, perfectly willing to compose their entire relationship on quiet moments spent together and nothing more. She still occasionally struggled with the idea that he was far more than she could ever deserve, even as he gripped her hand tightly and told her she was worth everything. It was getting better with every day she spent in his loving company, the extensive wounds left on her heart in her younger days by a world that told her she would never be enough slowly starting to heal. There would always be scars, but those would fade one day until they were barely visible, until the twinges of pain could barely be felt.
Lloyd’s lips were a little chapped from the cold, unmoving against hers, still tasting faintly of the sweet apple slices from thirty minutes ago. All in all, a pleasant experience.
After a second of shocked stillness, Lloyd came to life again, a small sigh leaving his lips and brushing against hers. His hand came up to cup her ear, his fingers curling in her hair as he kissed her back with nothing but gentleness, always mindful of her boundaries and never pushing her any further. Of course, he had boundaries too. If he’d decided to pull back, she would have respected it. It was the bare minimum she could do for him.
Thirty seconds passed and she pulled away, though not too far, opening her eyes to stare into his. Their hands remained where they were, connecting the two of them.
“Where did that come from?” His words became butterflies, brushing their soft wings against her lips. He tucked her hair behind her ear, his fingers stroking the skin above her ear with the tenderness he always showed her.
“I just felt like saying thank you.” For everything. For all their years together. For all the love he showed her. For the knowledge that Lloyd would continue to stay in her life, for the rest of her time on this wondrous Earth.
Not that long ago, she would have broken away and covered her face with the plushie that was still in her arms, cheeks flushed and too embarrassed to meet Lloyd’s eyes, preferring that he talk to the plushie instead of her. Much like the first kiss, unconventional as it was, that they had shared. Now she could stare unflinchingly with confidence to witness the happiness that bloomed like the most incredible flower on his face.
“Thank you. For the gift,” Lloyd replied, always seconds away from showing his appreciation.
“Shall we look through the rest?” she asked, removing her hand from his cheek to cover the one he had placed on her face, her fingers slotting in perfectly between his as she smiled sweetly.
Here was her sanctuary, where all she knew was serenity and the warmth of loving and being loved.
“Let’s.”
~~~
“Mm.”
Lloyd froze in the middle of flipping to the next page of the scrapbook, watching Colette with eagle eyes. Had he

But she didn't seem to have awakened. Not really. She made no other sound, only tightened the hold of her arms around his midriff, her face buried in his side and the rest of her lying on her side on the bed. He'd resorted to holding the scrapbook up in order not to accidentally jolt her out of her peaceful sleep. So far, his arms had not started to hurt yet.
Lloyd heaved a sigh of relief, tucking the entirety of the blanket tightly around her shoulders, leaving himself uncovered. Now, swaddled in the blanket, she resembled a cocoon. Adorable. And also what tended to happen each night, as she ended up stealing the blanket eight nights out of ten.
Satisfied that Colette was soundly asleep, Lloyd returned to perusing the contents of the scrapbook, a small smile playing on his lips.
And silence reigned supreme, interrupted only by quiet breathing and the crinkle of paper.

denki kaminari has lost his sister
a/n: happy new year! this fic was for one of my other friend’s xmas presents which is just a bit late. i hope you enjoy it!
pairing: kaminari denki x shinsou hitoshi tags: fluff, lifeguard au, they are equally whipped, pre-relationship, crush at first sight wc: 5.8k
Denki is ready for vacation. He’s ready to hit the beach, eat a ridiculous amount of hamburgers, and maybe even get a tan to show off to his friends back in Japan. He is significantly less prepared to chase after a lost sister (multiple times) and talk to a surprisingly cute lifeguard that manages to stumble upon Denki in his time of need.
Denki’s cheap slides slapped against the ground as he and his family stepped off the airplane.
He swung his backpack over his shoulder and looked around. Large windows surrounded them, allowing sunlight to flood in. Potted plants sat on the tiled floor and lined the walls. People tripped over one another as they all eagerly ran to security to start their vacations.
Denki’s family took their sweet time retrieving their luggage. They walked at the pace of a snail despite the boy’s wish for them to hurry up. For some reason, they decided to stand still on all of the walkways (which had the word walk in them, Denki pointed out) and gawk at all the foreign stores.
They arrived at the tram station that would take them directly to their hotel, just to find out that they had missed it by only a few minutes. The woman working at the desk for the tram told them that it would be another twenty minutes until the next one came. Denki’s mom just thanked the woman and waved it off, not understanding that she was wasting the precious minutes of vacation Denki had calculated on the plane. 10,283 minutes of relaxing time in which he didn’t have to deal with Katsuki’s terrible behavior, Mr. Aizawa’s dull grumbling, or Ms. Midnight’s provocative... um, homework.
Twenty minutes later (10,223 minutes left), the tram screeched to a halt, and the Kaminaris walked out to board.
Smiling widely, Denki’s sister Yuki took his right hand as she glanced around to explore the new country they would be living in for the next week. Once they got seated, Yuki let go so she could turn and look out the window.
“So how’s Hawaii so far?” he asked his little sister, flicking one of her pigtails.
He was scared that the foreign land and language and people might be too overwhelming for a five-year-old, but she was clearly enjoying every moment so far. He saw her wide eyes in the reflection as she took in all the scenery.
“Wonderful! Do you see the ocean? It’s so blue.” She pressed her finger against the window. Wonder and amazement flashed in her eyes and Denki laughed. It’s like she forgot they also lived on an island surrounded by an ocean.
They both watched the exotic flora pass by while the driver spewed out facts about Hawaii that would entertain the tourists. They flew over his mom’s, dad’s, and sister’s heads since Denki was the only one with strong enough English to understand the fast, muffled speech of the driver.
The tram stopped in front of their hotel, and the brother and sister stood up to follow their parents out to collect their suitcases. They rolled them up the brick pathway, careful not to bump into other guests.
A cold burst of air conditioning greeted them when they walked into the building. Warm, earthy tones decorated the lobby, giving it an overall oriental feel, which was probably why his parents chose this hotel in the first place. Guests were drawn toward the main novelty of the lobby: the small waterfall in the middle of the room. The water cascaded over a wooden wall and emptied into a small koi pond where kids could throw in small pellets of food.
His parents walked straight past the wall and towards the check-in desk with the assumption that their kids were trailing right behind them. Denki hurried after them (only 10,206 minutes remaining), but suddenly saw a small flash of bright blonde hair dip into the gift shop. He groaned and ran after Yuki.
Denki found her next to the souvenir t-shirts with sayings like “Aloha” and “Welcome to Hawaii” on them. She was tugging on a hot pink one that was five times too large for her.
“Yuki, you can’t run off like this.” He grabbed her arm that was clinging to the fabric and made her let go of it.
She whined, sticking out her tongue at her older brother. Denki rolled his eyes at the childish behavior but was secretly thankful that she didn’t start throwing a temper tantrum. Those meltdowns could last for hours on end, and he wasn’t prepared to deal with one of those in public.
Denki had just managed to get Yuki to leave the gift store when their parents walked up to them, glaring.
His mother started the attack before Denki could even try to defend himself. “Denki, I thought you were more responsible than this. After we got our keycards, we turned around just to find you gone.”
Denki wanted to scream at their ignorant, illogical thinking. He held back his sigh and tried to explain. “You don’t understand, I was coming to get her and-”
“Stop making excuses. You also left your suitcase in the middle of the lobby. You should be glad no one stole it.” His dad thrust the handle of his suitcase towards Denki.
I’m sorry that you can’t keep track of your own child, so your poor son had to do it for you, just to get in trouble for running off, Denki bitterly thought as he watched his parents spin around and march off. Naturally, they expected their children to follow them.
It had been less than an hour since they landed and they were already mad at him. He rolled his eyes and huffed. What a great family trip this was going to be.
Even Yuki must have sensed the tension since her usual, endless babbling had subsided while they walked behind their parents to the elevators.
The elevator ride was quiet.
The doors slid open and Denki was the first to escape the cold atmosphere. He reached their room first but had to wait for his mother with the keycard. She swiped it, the green light switching on to signal that it was unlocked. He quickly pushed the door open and entered the room.
There were two beds, which meant he would be sharing one with his sister unless he wanted to sleep on the couch or the floor. That would also mean that she would get an entire bed to herself, and that was utterly unacceptable.
He tucked his suitcase between the wall and the bedframe before checking out the rest of the hotel room. They had a giant TV on top of a dresser placed in front of the beds. There was a nightstand between them with a clock, lamp, and phone on top. Pictures of various plants and landscapes adorned the walls.
Skinny French doors opened to a smaller room with a living area. There was a green couch facing another TV, and a desk situated in the corner. Denki found a small kitchenette and a door leading to the bathroom.
He returned to the earlier room and pulled back the beige curtains to reveal a sliding glass doorwall leading to a balcony. They had a great view of the strip of beach that the hotel owned.
His parents sat on their bed and talked in hushed whispers.
Probably about me, Denki thought as he flopped on his bed face-down. If only he could escape for a while to give them time to cool off.
He unzipped his suitcase to dig out his Switch when he saw his swim trunks. He looked out the doorwall again.
“Mom, Dad, can I go to the beach?” he asked, forgetting all about his game and pulling out the hideous shorts instead.
“I don’t know, can we trust you?” his father retorted.
Denki bit back a tart response. “I’ll be okay. I’ll take my phone and stuff.” “I want to swim!” Yuki popped her head in out of nowhere. She seemed to have returned to her normal, hyperactive self.
His mom clapped her hands together. “Perfect! Denki, you take your sister to the beach and your father and I can have some alone time here.”
“But I wanted to-”
“You wanted to what?” his dad asked, arching an eyebrow to give him The Look.
“... Talk to girls,” he sheepishly admitted. And guys too, which is what I would say if I was actually out to you two.
“This is a family vacation. If you want to go to the beach, take your sister along with you. Besides, you speak English well, so if your sister gets lost, she’ll be fine.”
He held back another aggravated scream. “Fine. Yuki, go get your swimsuit on.”
Denki grabbed his pair of hideous yellow swim trunks with black lightning bolts on them. They were so outrageously horrible, which is exactly why he bought them in the first place.
Walking into the bathroom, he quickly changed into them and applied sunscreen to his face.
He packed a bag to take with him while his sister changed. In it were his phone, three towels (one for him, one for his sister, and one to sit on), and one of the keycards.
“Okay, here’s her floaties, and some money for snacks.” His mom handed the objects to him. He tucked the cash into the outside pocket of his drawstring. The floaties wouldn’t fit, so he would just have to carry them.
“Carrying transparent pink and blue floaties with flowers on them is truly the epitome of hotness,” he muttered to himself as he blew a strand of hair out of his face. “Come on, Yuki.”
“Have a great time, you two!” his mother beamed as if she wasn’t mad at him only a few minutes earlier.
“Will do.” he said, shutting the door behind him.
His sister darted down the hallway and Denki couldn’t help but groan.
-
They found a shady spot underneath a palm tree that was pretty close to the beach, the optimal location. From here, Denki could watch Yuki if she wanted to go swim or play by herself. They could also build sandcastles more easily since they wouldn’t have to haul ass to get wet sand. Finding the spot wasn’t too difficult since the beach wasn’t packed either. It was the middle of a Tuesday after all.
Denki rolled out the striped towel and set the bag on top to weigh it down. He dropped the floaties with a dejected sigh before sitting down and peeling off his shirt. Despite the warmth of the sun and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore, he still felt agitated from the altercation earlier.
He pulled Yuki into his lap, twisting one of her pigtails around his finger. Her arms were already sticky from sweat and her feet were coated with sand. More granules of sand transferred to the towel and Denki’s legs the longer she sat.
“You’re not mad at me too, are you?”  he asked, picking her small body up to reposition her to face him.
She shook her head, placing her small, sticky hands onto Denki’s bare shoulders. “I love you, Denki!” She kissed him on the cheek and giggled.
He couldn’t help but smile and pull her into a hug. She may be a brat sometimes, but if anyone was on his side, it was her. “I love you too, Yuki.”
“Can we get ice cream?” she asked while hugging him back. Her hair tickled his ear as the slight breeze swung it back and forth.
Ice cream was a great option to battle the heat, second only to jumping into the ocean. Plus they hadn’t eaten anything since the plane ride, so he was starving. He wanted a real meal, preferably a hamburger with a large side of fries, but they wouldn’t be having dinner for a few more hours. The pool bar was open, but he had no clue what they sold or how much it was. Frankly, he wasn’t feeling up to the task of talking to people either.
“Of course,” he replied, bringing joy to his sister’s eyes. He eyed at the crowd swarming the ice cream truck. There were so many people, all shoving to get their popsicles and ice cream sandwiches, and he didn’t want her to get hurt or lost.
“Um
” Crap, he had no clue what to do. “Yuki, I’m going to go get us ice cream, okay? Listen, you have to promise me that you won’t leave this spot. Can you promise me that?”
“I promise!”
Denki nodded and set her down on the towel. She fell square on her butt, digging both her hands into the damp sand. She looks occupied enough, he decided as he dug the money out of his bag and told her goodbye.
Halfway to the truck, he turned around to check if Yuki was still sitting on the towel. Thankfully she was, easing his fears slightly.
He waited in line for a bit, bought two ice cream sandwiches, and made his way back to the large palm tree. The sandwiches seemed to be melting in his hand by the second, so he took up a quick jog. He watched his path, trying not to step on anyone or anything while the sand burned his feet.
When he reached their resting place, he expected sticky fingers grabbing at the sandwich in his hand. Instead, Yuki was gone.
He dropped the two wrapped sandwiches and frantically swiveled his head around in search of those blonde pigtails and purple swimsuit.
He had really done it now. What if she got kidnapped? What if she got into the water and drowned? His parents would never forgive him. He would never forgive himself. Of course he shouldn’t have left her there.
“God, why am I so stupid?” He felt like crying and screaming and kicking something. This vacation just kept getting worse and worse.
“Hey, are you okay?” a deep voice said in English.
Denki looked up and shielded his eyes from the sun to find a purple-haired boy staring at him with concern. The boy’s lips were set in a firm line and the bags under his eyes were quite profound. He may not have been found objectively attractive by the common person, but Denki couldn’t help but find a certain kind of beauty in the orderly unkemptness of the boy.
Now is not the time to think about that though, Denki thought, chiding himself for his behavior.
“I mean, you just look
 distressed,” the boy said when Denki didn’t reply.
Denki was distressed. So much so, that he didn’t notice when he started cussing in Japanese, which is what brought the boy over in the first place.
“Oh. I’m fine. I’m good besides the fact that I literally lost my sister and when I go back to the hotel, I will get decapitated by my parents after being awarded ‘Worst Brother of the Year.’” Denki slapped his hands to his face and rubbed his eyes of any stray tears.
“Oh, I’m sorry about that. Do you want help looking for her?” he asked, squatting down and prying Denki’s hands off his face.
Denki looked up and into the purple eyes of his new savior. “Yes. Please, yeah, thanks.”
The boy stood up and offered his hand out to the blonde. Denki took it and smiled. Somehow, his hand wasn’t as sweaty as everyone else’s. It’s like his body had adjusted to the almost unbearable heat. That or he was just too pretty to sweat. He wasn’t sure.
“What does she look like?” the purplet asked, placing his hands on his hips and cracking his back then his neck.
Denki was not staring at his back muscles nor at his crazy hair that must have been at least sort of soft.
Cracking his knuckles, the boy looked at the blonde expectantly and waited for his response.
“Oh, right,” Denki cleared his throat. “Well, she is five, and she is kind of short. She has blonde hair too, but it’s lighter than mine and in pigtails, and she has a purple swimsuit on, kind of like the color of your hair, and yeah.”
“Okay. Don’t worry we will find her.” He took in the long expanse of sand and people ahead of them. His sunglasses would have been nice.
Denki rubbed the nape of his neck. He felt guilty that he was wasting someone else’s time, but he needed all the help he could get. This vacation was already a complete shitshow and a lost sister on his watch would make it an Oscar-winning shit-performance or whatever the step up from shitshow was. “My name is Denki, by the way. Uh, thanks for helping me.”
“I’m Hitoshi, one of the lifeguards here. So it’s really no problem. It’s my job to save everyone.”
Somehow that made Denki feel a little better.
“Okay, Denki, do you have any idea where she could be?”
Denki shook his head.
“Okay, let’s just ask around then?” Hitoshi suggested.
They started their trek, Denki with his slides on and Hitoshi barefoot. The heat had made Denki’s hair start to frizz, and he tried to discreetly pat it down. He didn’t put any gel in it this morning since he thought he would be swimming, not talking to a hot guy while looking for his sister.
They approached the nearest person, a middle-aged woman with a big, floppy hat and large sunglasses who was reading a magazine and tanning. Clad in a skimpy pink bikini, she laid on one of those beach chairs, long legs stretched out. Her giant boobs spilled out of her halter top, drawing the attention of many males around, which seemed to be one of her objectives of the day, along with tanning and reading about the top seven diets that are taking the world by storm.
Hitoshi promptly ignored the lady’s more than concerning fashion choices and led the conversation. “Excuse me, ma’am, have you seen a little five-year-old girl anywhere? She has blonde pigtails and a purple swimsuit on.” He held his hand near his waist to illustrate her height.
She pulled her sunglasses off with an exaggerated snap of her wrist and glanced up at the boys. “Did you lose a child? Aren’t you supposed to be a lifeguard?” She flicked the whistle hanging from Hitoshi’s neck and turned back towards her magazine.
Denki was shocked, first by her ginormous, unshielded tits, but now by her sharp words. Hitoshi was just trying to help him search for his sister. Why was she being so rude?
Hitoshi started to speak, but Denki stepped forward. “Look, lady. You have no right to speak to my friend this way. Have you seen my sister or not?”
The lady narrowed her eyes at the blonde. “I have not,” she said, snapping open her magazine and turning away. “Brats.”
Denki stomped away from the woman. Once they were out of earshot, he started grumbling. “Despite your strong milf status, you’re a complete bitch.”
Hitoshi softly laughed at the strange yet comical remark.
The joyful sound was unexpected as it landed on Denki’s ears. Hitoshi had a deep, almost gravelly voice (one that Denki found undeniably hot) that seemed to never fluctuate in tone or timbre. It was calm and stable, so the warm, sweet sound made Denki’s heart skip a few beats and made his mouth malfunction for a few seconds.
“You have a nice laugh,” he blurted out. His cheeks went red with embarrassment once he realized what he said. “Er, I-”
Hitoshi just laughed more at the blonde’s candor. “Thanks.”
Denki decided to stop talking, stop looking at the purple-haired boy altogether before he said another stupid thing.
The two boys walked around, going from person to person and asking if they had seen Yuki. Everyone shook their heads and returned to their activity, clearly uninterested in finding the lost child. So far the bitchy milf was the worst of the worst, but no one else was that much better.
Each time they got out of earshot, Denki had some underhanded comment that made Hitoshi laugh.
-
As they walked around, Denki and Hitoshi made small talk, discovering different things about each other. (Denki had lost track of exactly how many minutes of vacation were left a while ago, as he was just a bit too preoccupied with something, or someone, else.)
Hitoshi worked as a lifeguard during the summer, weekends, and school breaks along with his two friends, Eijirou and Mina. His purple hair always stuck up like crazy, even though it got wet all the time. Oh, he also loved cats and liked to go biking when he had some free time.
Denki had come to Hawaii for a vacation with his family, but they were sort of fighting right now. The black lighting bolt in his hair was natural, even though no one really believed him. Oh, he also loved hamburgers and liked to hang out with cute guys who liked cats when he had some free time.
Hitoshi smiled at his last comment. Sometimes he had a hard time discerning whether someone was just being very friendly or if they were trying to flirt with him. It was seven times harder when it came to boys. But by now, he was ninety-nine percent sure Denki was flirting with him. He just called him cute for goodness sake.
They walked around for a few more minutes with no luck. Hitoshi was frustrated at the lack of care from the guests while Denki was about to go berserk. It had been twenty minutes and still no luck. How were they ever going to find her?
Hitoshi was very worried about the blonde. He could sense the spiraling about to occur, but his break was ending right now.
“Hey, Eijirou!” He shouted, waving both arms above his head to get the attention of the other lifeguard. The red-haired boy turned around and squinted at the pair. Was Hitoshi actually talking to another human?
Hitoshi grabbed the blonde’s hand and ran towards the tower. Denki started thinking about how nicely the lifeguard’s hand fit in his.
“Hitoshi, what’s up bro? Who’s this?” He climbed down from the tower and stuck his hands on his hips, looking back and forth between the two boys. His eyes followed their arms that met in a handhold, and Eijirou couldn’t help but smirk. Listening to Hitoshi while very obviously staring at their interlocked hands, he shook his leg to get the sand off before slipping his foot into a red croc.
“This is Denki, and we are looking for his sister. So can you just cover my post for a little bit more?”
They were not getting the hint. He watched Hitoshi very slowly slip his thumb out to stroke the side of Denki’s hand. Eijirou watched the blonde’s breath hitch as he stared straight ahead, trying not to pass away.
The redhead just gave them a cheeky grin. “Yeah, no problem! What does she look like?”
“Well, she’s five and has blonde pigtails and a purple swimsuit,” Denki described, motioning with his free hand.
Eijirou considered the description, squinting, until something finally clicked. “Oh, you mean her?” He jabbed a thumb in the direction of his lifeguard tower.
The three watched as Yuki popped out behind the white wood of his lifeguard chair. Eijirou smiled, Hitoshi gasped, and Denki felt his soul ascend. He would live to see another day.
He tore away from Hitoshi and ran over to his sister, kneeling down so they were eye level. “Yuki, why did you leave when you promised me you wouldn’t?”
She shrugged, playing with her skirt and wiggling around. The sand must have been terribly interesting because she refused to make eye contact with her brother. Maybe she was finally feeling guilty about all the trouble she’s caused today. Denki pouted in return and furrowed his eyebrows.
Watching the blonde’s cute expression, Hitoshi could swear he fell in love just a little more.
Yuki dashed away, kicking up sand and dodging Denki’s arms. “Not again,” he whined, bowing his head in defeat before standing up to go chase after his sister.
She ran right past Hitoshi who scooped her up before she could escape.
“You should have listened to your big brother, Yuki. He’s been spending all this time looking for you,” Hitoshi said in perfect Japanese. He was still standing next to Eijirou, far enough away that Denki couldn't hear him.
She frowned and flashed him big puppy dog eyes. “I’m sorry.”
“I’m not the one you should be apologizing to,” he said, glancing over at Denki. He set her down and she ran back to him, hugging his leg. “Sorry, Denki.”
He sighed and sat down on his butt. “It’s okay, just please don’t run away again.”
Yuki giggled and crawled into his arms, burying her face in his neck and blowing a raspberry.
“Yuki
” He cracked a smile and started tickling her, seeming to forget about the harrowing experience she just put him through.
-
While the siblings made up, Eijirou left, clapping Hitoshi on the back and wishing him good luck, both with the second half of the shift and his newfound crush.
Hitoshi climbed back up on his chair, leaning against the back of it and sighing. In the past twenty minutes, he saw a swearing Japanese boy on the verge of a breakdown, asked said boy what was wrong, helped said boy find his sister, and developed quite the crush on said boy.
The sun beat down on Hitoshi as he watched the brother and sister duo with a smile on his face. He rested his arms on his knees, holding up his face with two curled fists. Sitting down and watching people enjoy their lives was very boring compared to the adventure he took with Denki.
“Ooooh, who are you staring at ‘Toshi?”
Hitoshi almost fell out of his chair, which would have been quite the sight to see. “What?”
“You haven’t blinked for a full minute. Who are you watching?” Mina asked, surveying the ocean in search of the individual who managed to steal Hitoshi’s heart.
“No one,” Hitoshi said, blinking aggressively. His eyes did feel very dry all of a sudden.
Very unconvincing. “Mhm
” she mused.
“Don’t you have work to be doing?” teased Hitoshi as he dragged his eyes away from Denki and placed them on the waitress.
She stuck her tongue out at him and tucked her hands in the back pockets of her jean shorts. Hitoshi just stared at her silently. After a few seconds, Mina just scoffed and ran a hand through her pink hair.
“You’re so boring. I’ll find out who you were staring at though, Mr. Heart Eyes, just you wait!” Mina ran towards the other tower. “Eijirou! You’ll never guess what happened to Hitoshi!”
Hitoshi chuckled at the black girl’s behavior. His eyes wandered for a bit before finding the blonde boy again in the water. Denki was splashing around in the water with his sister, his smile so bright that it stood out against the sunlit ocean.
A flash of red dove into the water, momentarily drawing Hitoshi’s attention away. A few seconds later, Eijirou’s head popped out of the water, wet hair clinging to his face and over his white headband. He looked over in Hitoshi’s direction and gave him a thumbs up. Hitoshi gave him one back, unable to hear the complaints that came from Eijirou’s mouth. This was the third time he had to save someone in Hitoshi’s zone since he was too distracted by a certain blonde boy.
Hitoshi did a once over of the sand and water before inevitably being drawn back to Denki and his sister. She was in a yellow inner tube and Denki spun her around in place, causing her to shriek out of joy. His hair was completely wet and fell down to his shoulders in nice waves. Hitoshi admitted that his swim trunks were objectively ugly, but he somehow pulled them off. It could have been the toned abs but Hitoshi was definitely not studying the muscles that looked extremely nice when Denki would emerge from the water.
He started staring into space, dreaming about the boy, when he heard screaming. The blonde’s voice carried across the ocean as he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted. “Yuki, where are you?”
Hitoshi looked at the inner tube, unsurprised to find empty air where a person should be. She was quite the handful it seemed. A few seconds passed before Hitoshi stood up and dove into the water to search for the lost girl.
The saltwater stung his eyes slightly while he swam around to find her signature pigtails. He spotted her among the various legs of people and grabbed her arm, pushing her up to the surface of the water before him.
Once he sprung up, he was met with an angry glare fixed on the small girl’s face who was back in her innertube with Denki in front of her. His back was to Hitoshi when Yuki started yelling at the purple-haired boy.
“You ruined our game! You’re no fun,” she snipped.
“Yuki, don’t talk to him like that. He was just making sure you’re safe,” Denki reprimanded in Japanese.
Denki turned around to apologize to Hitoshi for his sister’s attitude, just to find that his brain had malfunctioned and refused to communicate with his mouth. He must have forgotten how to tread too, because he accidentally plunged down into the water, curing him of his original shock.
Why were men so attractive? More specifically, purple-haired lifeguards who just came out of the water after saving his sister who didn’t need saving.
Saltwater filled his mouth and burned his nose as he flailed in the water for a second before propelling himself upward. Choking and sputtering, he grabbed onto Yuki’s tube to stabilize himself while he was in the process of dying.
Hitoshi watched on with concern. “Are you okay?”
Denki kept coughing but nodded regardless. “Sorry, I, um, well, we were just-”
His face was bright red, possibly from his near-death experience, possibly from the hot male in front of him.
Hitoshi would bet it was the latter.
He found that flustered Denki was somehow even cuter than beach boy Denki, and the strong desire to fluster him crept up further. He smirked to himself for a split second before swimming closer to Denki and tapping him on the shoulder. He shot a deadly smile at the coughing boy. “Hey, I’m Shinsou Hitoshi, lifeguard on duty right now,” he said in Japanese.
“I know, you told me before,” Denki reflexively replied in his first language, still recovering from the past five minutes of his life. His eyes widened. “You just spoke perfect Japanese?”
“I did. I was born in Japan and moved here just a few years ago.” Hitoshi looked smug at the fact that he succeeded in rattling the blonde.
Denki stared at him, trying to remember if he said anything stupid in Japanese while in the presence of the lifeguard. He didn’t think so, but he could never be sure. His coughing fit had finally stopped, and they stared at each other in silence.
“Your English is really good, Denki,” Hitoshi said, watching a small blush spread on Denki’s cheeks again.
“Thanks.”
Did he always have freckles? Hitoshi wondered as he swam closer.
The romantic moment abruptly ended when Yuki splashed water in both of their faces.
Hitoshi shook his head to get rid of as much water as possible while Denki just growled at his sister, restraining his desire to splash her back twice as hard. The purple-haired boy noticed this and tugged on the other’s arm. Denki paused his murderous rage to look at Hitoshi.
“Why don’t I show you around after my shift? Are you in the hotel up there?” Hitoshi asked as he pointed at the large building that loomed over the beach.
“Yeah, yes I am. Um, sure, what time is that?” Denki stuttered out, cringing at his voice. Now was not the time to be majorly awkward, he scolded himself. He glanced back to see if Yuki was listening. Thankfully, she wasn’t or she just didn’t care. That would be quite a long conversation with his parents, one he definitely preferred not to have soon.
Hitoshi cracked a smile at the way Denki stumbled over his words. “Around six. I can take you out to dinner at the beach restaurant.”
“That’s perfect. I’ll meet you here again, yeah?”
“Sure.”
Denki turned towards his sister who was entertaining herself by spinning in tiny circles. He could never be too careful when it came to boys. “If Mom and Dad ask where I go tonight, you just tell them that I made a new friend, okay?”
“Okay. Can we go back to swimming now?” she asked, looking up to find the pair laughing at her uninterested tone.
Denki nodded through giggles while Hitoshi waved goodbye to Yuki. She’d warm up to him later if he had anything to say about it.
Hitoshi swam to shore and walked back to his lifeguard chair. Sand stuck to his wet feet and legs. He tried brushing it off as best he could, but the curse of sand clung to his body like, well, wet sand. He dried his hair and torso off before settling back into his chair.
Once again, his eyes found Denki whose head was sticking just above the water. He managed to position his sister so that she was sitting on his shoulders. Once she was properly situated, he stood up, boosting her into the warm air. Squeals and shouts came from her mouth as she grabbed onto his hair while Denki spun around.
He stopped spinning, facing Hitoshi and making eye contact with him across the ocean. Denki grinned and offered a flirty wink before thrusting himself backward and falling into the water with a large splash. They surfaced a few seconds later, laughing and chasing each other around.
Hitoshi smiled at the boy’s antics and tried to calm his racing heart.
Someone knocked on his chair leg, pulling Hitoshi out of his thoughts about his future date. It was Eijirou who had come over to notify Hitoshi that he was taking his break now. Hitoshi nodded and watched the other lifeguard walk towards the bar to go talk to Mina.
“Hey, Eijirou?” Arching his eyebrow in curiosity, the red-haired boy turned around and motioned for his friend to continue. “Do you think I can get off early tonight?”
“Got a date with a cute blonde?” Eijirou teased.
“Yeah, something like that,” the lifeguard replied with an uncharacteristically large smile on his face.
Eijirou had never seen anything like it before.

The New Girl in Town
SoKai Week 2020 - Day 2 - First Meeting
Synopsis: The teacher introduced a new girl and for some reason Sora can’t help but notice her.
Featuring: Sora, Kairi, Riku, Selphie, Wakka, Tidus
Prompt for the Day: First Meeting / Unseen Adventures
“Alright children, I’d like you all to give a warm welcome to our newest friend.”
Standing beside the teacher was a petite girl wearing a white dress with big purple flowers along the trim. She had shoulder length hair the color of fresh raspberries and her eyes were bluer than the sea surrounding the islands.
“Her name is Kairi. She’ll be staying with us for a while, so be nice.”
Before Sora even had a chance to introduce himself, a bubbly brunette in a pair of yellow overalls and a white t-shirt ran over to greet the new kid.
“Hi Kairi! My name is Selphie. Let’s get along!”
“That’s Selfie for you,” a voice said from behind, disrupting Sora’s thoughts. “—Woah, Riku! You snuck up on me!” “Did not. I was here the whole time. You were just too busy staring at the new girl to notice, which is very rude by the way.” “—I
I wasn’t staring! I was just
 listening to the teacher! Yeah, that’s it!” “Whatever you say.” The young boy with silver locks gave a knowing smirk, but he opted to drop the argument. After all, he was a year older than Sora. He had to be the bigger person. The more mature of the two, which annoyed Sora to no end. Usually, he’d push back against Riku’s apathy, but a fit of giggles from the two girls distracted Sora from any feelings of irritation.
“Hey Riku, do you think that’s the girl living at the mayor’s house?” Riku made mention of such a girl earlier when the two were playing at the secret place. In fact, they planned on visiting later that day, but once they arrived at the mayor’s house there was a maze of long legs blocking them from reaching the front door. They opted to try again on a day that was less crowded, but never got around to it.
“It has to be. It’s not like we get many visitors. And what are the chances of two girls our age moving here at the same time?” He was right. That’s Riku for you. He always had an answer to everything, even when speaking to the adults! Sora was proud to have him as a best friend.
Another fit of giggles erupted from the two girls. What are they laughing about? Sora didn’t understand girls at all. Selphie was the only girl around Sora’s age, but she never wanted to do anything fun! She wasn’t interested in racing to the shack or swimming in the water or playing with swords. All she wanted to do was talk and build sandcastles. Boring. Yet Sora couldn’t peel his eyes away from the girl with bright red hair. Kairi, was it? There was something different about her.
______________________________________________________________
After pre-k, the children made a habit of rowing to the play islands. When they were younger, they could only go to the island when their parents were available. But with Riku and Wakka being the oldest of the group, they convinced the parents to trust them. Well, Riku did most of the convincing, but it worked nonetheless.
Sora and Riku just finished an incredibly heated race and needed to take a breather. As they were catching their breath, a pair of sandals approached them.
“Hi there!” “—H
hiya.” The new girl?!? What is she doing here? “Hello. It’s nice to meet you,” Riku cut in, “I’m Riku and this shorty is my best friend Sora.” “Hey, my mom said if I drink a whole lot of milk, I’ll be taller than everyone! I bet I’ll even be taller than those trees!” “That’s impossible.” “No it’s not!” “Yes it is.” “No—“ Suddenly a burst of the joyful laughter Sora heard before erupted from the new girl. It sounded like
 well Sora didn’t know what it sounded like. He just knew that hearty giggle made him feel all tingly
 in a good way! Riku must have felt something too, because that infectious laughter had the both of them smiling ear to ear. “My name is—“ “Kairi, right? We heard the teacher introduce you earlier.” So Riku WAS paying attention. And he had the nerve to poke fun of me for watching her interact with Selphie. “—Wait a second, weren’t you hanging out with Selphie?” “Yup. She introduced me to Tidus and Wakka, but then they started arguing, so I decided to see what you two were up to.” And lo and behold, Sora and Riku could make out an angry Selphie frantically shaking her finger at an equally angry Wakka and a defeated looking Tidus. “So, what are you up to?” “We just finished a really intense race! You should’ve seen my victory!” “Don’t you mean my victory?” “No way! I totally got here first.” “No you didn’t.” “Did so!” “Did not.” “Did—“ Suddenly Sora could feel those unfamiliar blue eyes watching him. He didn’t feel like arguing anymore. “I
 It doesn’t matter,” Sora conceded to Riku’s shock. That was usually his job. “Kairi’s here now, so let’s ask what she wants to do,” Sora said as he turned to face her with a wide grin. “What
 what I want to do?” “Sure! Let’s play together!” “Hmm
” Kairi carefully considered their options. The boys looked pretty tired from their race, so that was out of the question. And nobody brought a swimsuit, so they couldn’t go swimming. What to do? What to do? Her bright blue eyes grew even bigger as inspiration struck. “How about we build a sandcastle?” she asked with confidence. “That’s a great idea Kairi,” Riku concurred. Sora, however, immediately regretted asking Kairi for her input. “Ye—yeah,” he managed to choke out. Sandcastles. How fun.
______________________________________________________________
The three sat on the wet sand ready to get their hands dirty, when they were startled by loud shouts coming from the opposite end of the island. Whatever argument Selphie and Wakka have gotten into has clearly escalated. And poor Tidus was caught in the middle of it.
“You guys can get started without me. I better see what’s going on.” That’s Riku for you. Always the responsible one. But in this case, Sora wanted to go instead. Anything was better than building sandcastles. However, Riku was already halfway across the island before Sora could protest.
Kairi picked up a nearby bucket and started filling it with sand. She never made a sandcastle before, but she knew what castles looked like! Or at least, she had an idea of what castles looked like. Kairi wondered what it would be like to live in a castle, but quickly pushed the thought out of her mind when it was time to flip over the bucket. She slowly lifted the compacted pail and
 “Perfect!” she thought. She lifted her head to see if Sora was admiring her work, but found him pushing around sand with a stick looking unsure of what to do.
Oh no. He doesn’t look like he’s having fun. Was this a bad idea? Kairi was starting to doubt her decision until she spotted a shovel next to her foot.
“Here.” Kairi handed the plastic yellow shovel to Sora. “You can dig the moat.” “The moat
” Sora repeated, “what’s a moat?” “It’s a giant hole filled with water that goes around the castle.”‹ “Why would you want a giant hole filled with water around a castle?” “To protect the princess! You fill the hole with piranhas and sharks and uh
 jellyfish so bad guys can’t capture the princess!” “Castles have piranhas and sharks and jellyfish!?!?” Sora was starting to think maybe sandcastles weren’t as boring as he once believed. “Of course! They also have traps that are meant to capture any enemies who dare to enter. And if a bad guy somehow gets passed the moat and the traps, he would have to fight against a lot of strong knights.” “Woah! Knights! What are we waiting for? We have to help them!” Sora jammed the shovel into the sand as fast as possible to create a moat as deep as the ocean. “Do you like knights, Sora?” “Obviously! Knights are the coolest. They wear shiny armor and use weapons that can take down dragons and are the strongest people in the world!” “Hehe, if you like knights so much Sora, you should be one!” “Re—really?” Sora wasn’t sure why, but he suddenly felt embarrassed. “Th-then if I’m a knight, you have to be the princess.” “Oh—okay.” Kairi was suddenly feeling hot. Must be the island weather. She wasn’t quite used to the heat. “Alright!” Sora’s previous embarrassment was replaced with a newfound enthusiasm. “Don’t worry Kairi, I’ll be the toughest knight around. Nobody will be able to defeat me, not even Riku! I’ll protect you from all the bad guys.” “Then, I’ll protect you too!” Sora’s enthusiasm was rubbing off on the redhead. “What? Princesses don’t protect knights.”‹ “Why not?” “I’m—I’m not sure.” “Then I’ll be the first.” She beamed at Sora and he smiled back just as wide. If Kairi has the power to make building sandcastles fun, who knows what else she can do? I should ask her to play tomorrow and the next day and the next day and the day after that! We can run and swim and build sandcastles and
 who knows? Maybe I can even show her the secret place.
Sora looked up and watched Kairi concentrate on stuffing her bucket to the brim with sand. Almost on cue, she raised her head to make eye contact and let out that whimsical giggle Sora couldn’t get enough of. He definitely wanted to show her the secret place.
As the day turned to dusk, Sora and Kairi worked tirelessly to build an incredible sandcastle. They wanted it to be perfect. After all, they had a promise to keep. It would only be later in life that the two would learn a knight and a princess don’t need a castle to protect each other.

Krisei Zodiac Event Pisces Week
Pisces Zodiac Sign Info Gotten From:
https://www.astrology-zodiac-signs.com/zodiac-signs/pisces/
“Pisces are very friendly, so they often find themselves in a company of very different people. Pisces are selfless, they are always willing to help others, without hoping to get anything back.
Pisces is a Water sign and as such this zodiac sign is characterized by empathy and expressed emotional capacity.”
💧Pisces Week
(This the entire element Is water Im going to base the element off that with the au Ocean rune or just water scenes, since in the rules were aloud to do stuff based off the element of the Zodiac sign.)
Day 1:
The beach. A wonderful place to go on a hot day for anyone with plenty to do and see and so much activities for anyone even if you weren't a swimming person. Building sandcastles. Getting a tan. Going swimming. Just relaxing with a good book or painting the scenery. Volleyball. Collecting seashells. Snorkling or diving and seeing all the cool fish and underwater life. There was also the occasional fisherman and someone doing watersports like surfing, water skying, jet boats, a whole lot of fun on the beautiful waves and deep blue sea- Or if you were the pair of friends in question, you'd be sitting at a picnic table under the shade and snacking on the food you got. Milkshakes ain't got NOTHIN' on the heat here now, except maybe the chocolate ones they served. Chocolate milkshakes was always the best in his opinion as he happily ate and watched all the other people running around and doing whatever they wanted to do on this smoldering hot day, it was too hot for him though sadly. Fur and all but the scenery was really pretty, even more so now that it was sunny and not cloudy like it had been recently. So of course he'd drag his friend out of the house and into the glorious great outdoors!!......Buuut they were a little busy looking at a little piece of drift wood they had found while walking In the hot sun before being dragged to the giant umbrellaed picnic tables of the beach resort. They'd been doing that for quite a while actually.
"Kris?" The human hummed not looking up at the other one across from them. "What are you doing there?"
Instead of looking up from their lap they just shrugged. "Carving somthin'."
he frowned. he knew Kris wasn't a big fan of being in public, but this wasn't exactly what he had in mind for the two of them to do when he dragged the brown haired human out of the house. SO hhe smiled politely and asked. "Really? Whatcha carving now?"
"You'll see. Almost done," they mumbled still not looking up from their position and Ralsei just groaned and sat down into his seat.
he sighed and went back to his coco milkshake then. Watching as people still walked by and once and a while looked up just to see Kris still carving something with their carving knife and keeping it out of sight of the other until they suddenly brought it up and finally held it out to him. And in their hands was a small little carved out fish. he smiled and took the small gift from them and looked at the neatly carved little goldfish he was just handed. If it wasn't obviously made of wood then she would've sworn it was a real goldfish. They always had a nack for this thing and found Kris giving a small smile back, Ralsei couldn't help but stand up to go hug his friend.
"This is beautiful Kris! Thank you!"
"Your welcome."
Day 2:
*This takes place in the Au OceanFellrune since I wanted to try exploring this au more*
Well this certainly was a pickle wasn't it. Imagine just going for a swim with your best friend and enjoying a nice day at the beach to just relax, simple right? Yeah- Nope. A storm had blown in unexpectedly and swept through the sea just a few hours after they arrived. All he wanted was to just relax around on his floaty, not be swept out to the middle of the gigantic lake with no way back..Well, he could swim but those waves didn't look so promising against his mediocre swimming skills, at least if he stayed on the floaty he could stay afloat and not worry about sinking.
But now he had another problem...The sky was starting to get darker by the minute and he wasn't too sure which direction was the way back to shore anymore. It was kinda hard to tell with the waves being so tall and him getting tossed back and forth like a ragdoll on a beach ball wasn't the best feeling in the world, and he was starting to feel like puking. Man....he was starting to get tired of this-
"HELP!! ANYONE?!" Don't ask why he thought it was a good idea to start shouting for a friend who couldn't help him, might've been just a reflex or a hope but it would soon lead to more bad than good...Or would it? "HELP?! HEL-"
A wave chose that exact moment to rear it's ugly head and crash down over the poor human's body, the wind was knocked outta him like a rock slammed into her. Immediately air bubbles surrounded his form as he unceremoniously screamed from the hurtful impact, darkness surrounded his form as the stormy waves above continued to rattle about like some sort of punisher. It was surprisingly....calm in the dark black surrounding him. Almost like the night. Completely silent. A peaceful way to go if she didn't want to die.
It was when he turned and found two pink eyes and a mouth full of teeth staring at him did he scream again.
You know....It's really troubling trying to find some peace somewhere where there's not a lot available just swimming around, so imagine his luck when he stumbled across a seemingly dumb person just floating about in the middle of his territory. Kinda dumb being all the way out here in the middle of the dam storm, but who was he to judge. A human's a human. A quick wave was able to knock whoever the person was over and into the water where he waited. He grumbled just thinking about it... But that thought soon vanished after seeing her face.
UGH- He hated puny fighters. This one wasn't worth the trouble...Not enough courage on her. He also didn't appreciate the bubbles shoved in his face when she screamed again and started kicking up towards the surface. His face scrunched up in annoyance. Did everyone always have to be so rude when they see a gigantic aquatic goat monster looking at them? Oh well. At least he got to do the scaring part he always liked.
Ounce he made it back up through the swaying surface, coughing and spitting out out hislungs, a dark shadow loomed out from under him. In a split second the shadow had bust through the waves with ease. Water splashed over him, almost sending him down under the water again.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! YOU FOOOOOL!!!" His raspy voice boomed over the noise of the waves and wind. "Those who enter my territory are doomed to DIE! Wha- H-HEY!" He flinched back when he yelped and instinctively grabbed onto him to keep from being drowned down by a wave. "HEY! Do you have a death wish! Those who ever as much as touch me are bound to- HEY! STOP DROWNING WHEN IM TRYING TO THREATEN YOU!!"
With a blub sound another wave sent him under. He groaned. Did his enemies ALWAYS have to make things more difficult like this? He stuck his hand back under the waves and a moment later he pulled the shivering, sputtering human back out of the bobbing water. he coughed and spat out some of the salt water, heaving and looking up at him.
".....*sigh* You know what? Screw this. My voice isn't worth some drowned human."
He began turning in the opposite direction and making swimming through the waves look like a breeze. he gave him a confused. "Where-....W-Where are we g-g-going?"
"Im dumping you on the shore. You're not worth the trouble of straining my voice."
Day 3:
IT WAS HOT!!
A lot hotter than what he was really used to, and to be perfectly honest, he didn't enjoy having the burning feeling in his lungs, or the amount of ssweat running down his body, or the heat baring down on himself. What was wrong with enjoying a nice inside inside and relaxing? Maybe cuddled up together in a nice air conditioned room, watching the live action of Romeo and Juliet? That was a beautiful tale is he did say so himself. But Noooo- he just had to go running today of all days on the beach. When the sun was fricking making it almost 80 DEGREES!! He stopped and heaved his lungs out, hands on his knees and gasping for breath like a fish out of water. Soft foosteps  rang out behind him and soon someone stopped next to him. It took a few moments but he eventually looked up into the smiling face of human.
"W-What art you..*wheeze* smiling at?!"
He laughed. "Ralsei, when was the last time you even took a relaxing jog?"
"KRIS?! Running on the beach with fur is too much. C-can’t we just go swimming instead?)
He laughed again and very easily stood on one foot and stretched the other out into a ballet pose. "Ralsei, exercise never hurt anyone. I know I enjoy it.~''
''THAT'S BECAUSE YOU’RE BUILT FOR THIS!! W-With NO fur!! I-I feel horrible! Why did I bake and eat so many cakes!?”
"Oh don't be so cranky." He rolled his eye not paying him any attention. "We still have half a mile before we can start back."
He heard his lover groan behind him and he chuckled again, well the sooner they finished the sooner they could go back. It was just then he heard wheezing sounds behind him and he turned around....and blinked. His boyfriend was no where to be seen. Until he looked down that is and saw a puddle of exhausted ghost monster on the sand.
"RALSEI!!"
Day 4:
*merman Kris braces legs and goes on land to ask Ralsei a question*
The screams of children swarm about the place as he stood outside the building. He never did like the thought of screaming little munchkins running around him, or their dirty little hands grabbing onto him, or sneezing on him-; He shuddered just thinking about the germs. Funny coming from someone who's eaten raw fish, but he was free to not like what he wanted. But, he was here for a different reason. Not for the kids-
"ACK-"
One of the small buggers crashed into his legs while running around. The little girl shook her head before squealing in delight and getting up to run after another child. Playing tag he presumed.
"Kris?"
He jumped and whirled around into the curious face of the very person he wanted to see...And who he sometimes got mad with. No he didn't like it when he held his hand. Or when he gently kissed him. Or when he smiled and hugged him- He hissed at himself which made him frown and raise a brow.
"Um. Are you ok?"
"NO!...Yes! Im fine. Im fine!"
His crooked smile didn't seem to faze him more and only resulted in more confusion. This wasn't going as he planned was it? Nope! He could see it in his eyes as he looked him up and down. It was pretty rare to see Kris on dry land, with legs, he seemed to despise legs and preferred to sticking to his underwater domain.
.So why was he here in the first place?
"Ok....Um. What're you doing here? I thought you hated land."
"I do!....I- Uh-" His face flushed a light pink, and he mentally cursed himself for stuttering. "I-....C-Came to see you."
"Really?" He nodded and he became a litle redder. Of course, he giggled at the cute sight as soon as it happened and he groaned. Did he always have to respond with his cute little giggles or when- HOLY CRAP! he grabbed his hand! His eyes shined like little gems up at him, and he actually gulped. "That's so nice of you. Did you want something?"
This was it. This was the moment he came for. So of course he opened his mouth-....And a high pitched squeak came out. They froze. A look of abosolute horror coming over his face. he however went wide eyes and gasped.
.Oh no. Not this. He didn't like where this was going- he squealed in glees and immediately grabbed his face.
"THAT WAS SO CUTE!! YOU SOUND JUST LIKE A BABY!!"
His face blew up a bright red and he sputtered. "I-IM NOT A CHILD!!" he cooed and booped his nose. "S-Stop! I didn't come t-t-to be treated like a child!"
he hummed. "Then what did you come here for?"
"I want a date Ralsei! I h-hate it when...you...
.." His eyes widened. " D*MMIT!! Why do you always do that?"
"Do what?" he faked innocently batted his eyelashes and giggled once he drowned in the red sea of blush. He was always so easy to fluster like this. So, it was perfectly natural to place a small kiss on his cheek. The result was weird drowning fish noises and him reaching up to try and fail to limply pull his face away from him. he giggled that cursed cute smile. "I'm really honored you came all this way to see me and I'd love to go out with you."
His mouth dropped. "R-Really?!"
he nodded. "But I have to finish work first. Is that ok?";
He nodded silently and he patted his cheek before letting go. A couple children came up to him and wisked him away into a game he didn't understand and he didn't move. Just stand there red faced and silently watching after him...
..He gulped heavily and slowly leaned back up into standing position.
He needed to get better control of his expressions.
Day 5:
*more merman Kris*
What had made him come to this? What lunatic controlling fate made the grand decision of making him fall for such a small weak little thing like him? He would probably never know, but the way he was giggling and holding his very red face right now in his soft little hands. He could always turn around, swim away, and never look back-....but he mustve put some kind of spell on him as he continued to gush at him.;
"I could eat you right know." He gave a small growl, showing on his fangs to give his point. "Know one would know and you always risk yourself by coming you know.''
he smiled. "You won't do that."
His brow raised. "How can you be so sure?"
he smiled wider. "Because your face tells a lot more than you think."
D*M IT ALL TO NEXT HELL!! He cursed himself for being like this, for being so weak and vulnerable around someone who wasn't even a threat to him. What would happen if some danger did come along?! NO! He didn't like the way he looked at him with those big beautiful eyes, or the way he was so patient with his stupid arse, or the way he was always squishing his cheeks in his soft paws and calling him cute- NOPE! NOT AT ALL!! And he definitely didn't spend last night laying awake thinking about how cute and soft he was! Nope! And he definitely didn't hit his head trying to catch him a fish she loved just to see him smile at him-
ABSOLUTELY NOT!!

...Ok. Maybe- But that's a very small maybe.
Day 6:
*even more merman Kris*
"S-Stop it."
"Why? You're acting like a child."
"Because I don't like physical contact. And I'd like to see you prove me wrong.'' He made a move to pry his hands from his face but that idea was scraped when he felt something small on his face.
OH SWEET MOTHER OF HECK-!! WAS THIS GOATvSERIOUSLY-?! he gave a small kiss on his cheek which he froze at, immediately his face broke out into a watermelon red. His hands were shoved in front of his face as to hide his embarrassment.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH- STOP THAT!!"
She just giggled and gave him another small kiss. More muffled screams followed, before the flustered screaming merman turned around and jumped from the doc red faced still holding his face as Ralsei giggled and waved good bye.
“Bye, Kris. I’ll see you tomorrow!”
Day 7:
*ralsei helping Kris with his fear of water*
He shouldn't. He couldn't......HE CAN'T!!
"I can't do this."
The human whimpered out as his red eyes gazed over the body of water that was in front of him. Already he could feel his body sweat and legs wobbling as he stared at it. A small black hand grabbed his making him flinch and look at the smaller demon next to him.
Ralsei blinked his pink eyes at him and smiled. "Oh, come on. It'll be ok." To prove his point, he stepped into the kiddy pool still holding his hand. "See? It's safe and sound."
He shook his head. "I-I don't think t-t-this is a good idea, Ralsei." He gulped down the lump in his throat. "I-I think it would be m-much better if I-I watched..through a window."
Ralsei still didn’t back down as he pulled Kris forwards more and yanked him a bit forwards enough for the human to yelp and freeze when the water came up to his ankles and shuddered at the cool feeling around his feet but managed to smile for Ralsei sake. Making the goat monster smile back.
“See? I told you it’d be alright”

Let me share this whole new world with you (Chapter 3/6)
Title: Let me share this whole new world with you
Pairing: Daniel Ricciardo/Max Verstappen
Rating: Gen/PG
Word Count: 5482
Tags: Oliver Verstappen-Ricciardo, Original Child Character, 5+1
Summary: Time for some home GPs :D
A/N:  Just a reminder, Max talks Dutch with Oliver when he’s younger/alone with him. Apart from a few Dutch sentences/words, that should be clear enough through context, but will also be translated in the end notes, most of it is written in English but in italics to indicate that it’s spoken in Dutch.
Read chapter 3 or Read from the start
2) Melbourne, Zandvoort & Monaco 2024
Melbourne 2024
Oliver’s tiny hand is clutching onto his own as they walk into the Red Bull garage, big headphones already covering his ears as engines are revved. His wispy blond hair is almost white from the sun it had gotten during the winter break spend in Australia and is now starting to fall over his eyes, in desperate need of a haircut.
“You stay with Vicky yeah, Papa’s gotta go drive the car now,” he said trying to push the strands of hair from Oliver’s eyes one last time.
“‘kay Papa, be safe,” the little boy mumbled back, the words always tugging at his heartstrings. He’d picked them up from his mum, the words always said by her every time he stepped into the car, whether it was in person or via text.
“I will Oli.”
After 2 weeks of testing in Spain and plenty of time spend in the Red Bull and Renault factories, winter break was now really over, the first practice session of the season about to start. Pre-season hadn’t been the easiest on them. Even with Enstone and Milton Keynes only being an hour apart, their rental place somewhere in the middle, they’d barely gotten the time to spend together, both of them exhausted from long days at the factory. They’d both crashed pretty much as soon as they’d managed to get Oli to sleep. At least with testing they’d had to be on track opposite each other, one of them getting to spend their day with their son as the other worked up miles on the racetrack.
Now though they were finally back in Melbourne. He loved Melbourne, a fresh start to a new season where everything was possible again. Over the years he’d been with Daniel it had become sort of a home race for him as well. A home race without the busy schedule that Zandvoort or Spa brought. While for Daniel it meant a jam packed schedule and barely any time for his family, for Max it meant he got to spend some time with his extended family. Grace, Joe and Michelle always happy to have Max to keep them company whilst their son and brother was rushed about the circuit. And of course these last two years they had all been excited to get to spend some extra time with their grandson and nephew as well.
He grabs his helmet and glances back at his son one more time, the boy happily playing with the toy car his assistant had given him. The bright yellow Renault shirt he’s wearing is clashing terribly with the colours around them, but even though Oliver had insisted on going with his papa today he’d refused to wear the Red Bull shirt to go along with it. No amount of playful teasing from the Red Bull crew had made him want to change it either, the boy happy in his ‘nana shirt.
With how quickly Oliver seemed to change his mind nowadays, the terrible twos finally rearing their ugly head just a few months before he would turn three, he would probably insist on wearing his Red Bull shirt at Renault on race day. He might be a handful at times, but Max loved him with all his being and he loved having him at the track with them.
---
Come race day he’s on his own at the garage, Oliver at Renault to spend time with Daniel’s family, it’s his home grand prix after all. It doesn’t mean Max doesn’t miss seeing his boy at the back of the garage though, his toothy grin the last thing he sees before strapping himself into the number 33 car. It makes him miss the old days sometimes, the days when he’d only have to look towards the other side of the garage to see curly hair and a bright smile. What he’d give to have been able to share that with his son, their son. Both of them giving him a kiss on each cheek for luck before they jumped into the car on their respective side of the garage.
It would never be like that, Alex now a permanent fixture on the other side of the garage, the man now his teammate for longer than Daniel had been. Them parting ways, so to speak, had probably been for the best. Made it easier for them to separate work and home, their battles now with their respective teams rather than each other.
He’s shaken from his thought by Tom handing him his helmet, reminding him that there was installation lap to be driven, the clock steadily ticking down to 16.10.
Zandvoort 2024
Home races were always special, while he was lucky to have fans come out in droves to quite a few tracks, the stands turning orange all over the world, Zandvoort was something else. The success of the first three years had made sure that Zandvoort would be a permanent fixture on the race calendar for the foreseeable future. And whilst the crowd was still mostly orange in its 5th year on the calendar he was happy to see that more and more different coloured specks had started to show up in the crowd. It’s what made the sport so special after all, there weren’t just the fans of two teams there like in football, there was a mixture of fans, even people who changed their shirts on each day of the weekend not being able to choose a favourite.
It was still all very hectic though, he’d flown into the Netherlands on Monday and had had pretty much every minute of his day scheduled from then on. Daniel and Oliver had followed on Wednesday, the hugs from his family a welcome reprieve from all the formal handshakes and (fake) nicery from the last few days.
Today hadn’t been much better, a room of bored looking media people staring at him, Lando, George and Daniil followed by a multitude of microphones waiting for him in the press pen. The pen was empty of other drivers by the time he’d been done with his last interview. He’d looked over at Vicky expecting her to tell him where he was needed next, but she hadn’t had anything planned for the next hour or two. Which is how he’d found himself here, his shoes getting filled with sand as he climbed down from the dune and onto the beach.
It wasn’t all that warm yet, the winds were strong and would surely be a big factor during the weekend, making him zip up his hoodie as he walked towards his family. He could see Victoria chasing after Oliver near the shore, his mum and Daniel chatting, sat atop a giant spread out blanket.
None of them had spotted him yet, only Victoria knowing that he had found himself some free time and was coming over, happy to help him surprise the others. He continued walking towards them, his shoes collecting more and more sand, and saw Oliver turn around still trying to avoid getting caught by his auntie. The second Oliver spotted him he was running towards him, yelling out Papa! and alerting the others of his presence. Max grinned as Oli jumped into his arms, pressing a kiss against the boy’s forehead as his son immediately started telling him all about his day.
“Hey,” he greeted his family, settling down next to them, Oli cuddling up on his lap.
“Hey, I thought you were busy for the rest of the day?” Dan asked him before pressing a kiss against his lips, a curious smile on his face when they drew apart again.
“I thought so as well, but Vicky doesn’t need me again until 4. Victoria told me you guys were on the beach and I didn’t want to miss that did I?” He addressed the last part to Oliver, bouncing him in his lap a little and ruffling his hair making the little boy giggle.
“Papa, kasteel?”
“You want to build a castle? Okay then go get your bucket.”
Soon enough not only his shoes were filled with sand, his hair and clothes covered by the sand as well, but an impressive, if he said so himself, sandcastle was standing proud in front of him.
“Come on Oli, let’s fill the moat to finish our showpiece.” He hoisted Oliver up onto his shoulders and ran over towards the sea, the plastic bucket hitting him in the head as he went, but the giggles floating along the wind more than made up for it.
The racing started tomorrow, the campsites already filled with thousands of people dressed in orange, but this right now is what he loved the most. He had never expected himself to love something more than racing, his whole life had been revolved around the sport, but now that he had this, a family of his own he’d give it up in a second if someone made him choose.
Monaco 2024
“Hello little man, are you lost?” They heard Lewis say, Oliver having ran right into him, the Brit’s hands reaching out for him before he could tumble over.
“Up?” Oli requested, hands already reaching up for Lewis, head tilted backwards with what were surely his best puppy dog eyes. They could see the other man melt before their eyes, one of Oliver’s many victims this weekend.
“You don’t have to,” Dan jumps in, but before the words could even fully leave his mouth Oliver was already in Lewis’ arms, the little boy happily snuggling his head against the man’s chest.
“It’s okay, I love kids, makes me miss when my cousins were this small. Don’t get me wrong I love playing soccer and games with them, but most of them are at that age now where they’re refusing cuddles.”
“Oh but you haven’t seen a two-year-old throwing a tantrum huh, uncle,” Dan said with a wink, clearly not having forgotten the fit Oliver threw earlier that morning, the boy refusing to eat his toast because it was cut into squares instead of triangles. Daniel had been close to pulling his hair out before Max had come into the kitchen after his shower and reminded him that squares could be cut into triangles, the boy’s cries stopping as soon as Max had cut the first one in half.
Dan and Lewis fall into an easy conversation then, Oli sucking his thumb, eyes flicking between the two adults intently. Max should probably join in, instead of just standing here, but he can’t help but let his mind wander. He’d seen Lewis change a bit during this season, it was only the 7th race of the year, but the fact that these would be Lewis’ last races had shown a different side of the man. He would never refuse to talk to you if you started up a conversation before, but would usually stick to himself if he could. Nowadays he was happy to mingle with the rest of them. Noise cancelling earphones exchanged for friendly conversations on the drivers parades, relaxed walks through the paddock rather than quick scooter rides right into the garage. It made Max wonder whether he would change, once his time came. Not that that would be any time soon if it was up to him.
Lewis’ announcement hadn’t exactly been a shock to people, 39 was already a pretty old age to retire, if you excluded Kimi of course. Still the knowledge that Lewis’ records would soon be up there ready and waiting for someone else to take them away again, had made the press go into overdrive, churning out article after article. Max didn’t really care about that though, he cared about the conversations he’d had with Lewis over the last few race weekends. About his plans to start his own fashion company, not just a fashion line but a proper brand of his own. The plan to travel to all the countries they’d been to so often but had never really gotten the chance to see properly. The wish for a child of his own, the registration for the adoption agency ready to be send off.
He’d not always liked the other man, had had more than enough moments where he’d despised him, but seeing him like this, happily chatting with Dan, Oliver now asleep in his arms, it made Max realise he would really miss him next year.
---
“Papa, kijk!” Oliver exclaimed as they crossed the street towards the harbour, the Red Bull yacht already pumping out music. That wasn’t what the little boy had spotted though, no he’d spotted the giant inflatable unicorn floating in the swimming pool.
“Wat is dat dan Oli?” They’d pretty early on decided to try and raise Oliver bilingual, Max talking only Dutch to him to try and get him to pick up Max’s native language alongside English. Max often tried to use German as well, after all now was the best time to try and teach their son more languages.
“Eehoon.”
“Eenhoorn, Oliver,” Max corrected him gently, the word still sounding silly to him in his mother tongue as well. “You want to go swimming sweetie?”
Oliver nodded his head so excitedly Max was almost afraid it was gonna fall off. They had some time to spare between the last free practice session and qualifying. Whilst Oliver had of course been with them last year, this was the first time he really got to take in the Monaco grand prix weekend. The streets of his home transformed into the tracks where his fathers got to race their fast cars. He still didn’t understand it fully, the city not all that recognisable anymore after all, and this wasn’t the part of the city where they actually lived, but seeing the excitement on their son’s face never failed to make them melt.
They quickly changed Oliver into his swimming trunks, Red Bull branded floaties wrapped around his arms to go along with them. As soon as they reached the pool he was pointing at the giant unicorn again, clearly wanting to sit on it. They waited for it to slowly float its way to the side of the pool, the currents of people wading their feet in the water making it bop up and down in every direction before Daniel shouted for someone to push it towards them. No one was surprised to see Daniel there, even with it having been six years now since he’d gotten to swim into this pool himself. It wasn’t uncommon to see Daniel back at the Red Bull hospitality these days though, nor Max at Renault’s for that matter, having a child who wanted to see both of his daddies would do that for you.
Oliver’s giggles were barely audible over the music coming from the dj booth on the other side of the deck, but they managed to go straight through to Max’s heart anyway. The boy was now sat atop the floating animal, clutching onto its rainbow mane as Daniel pushed it around the edge of the pool, not caring about the people sitting in their way.
They finished the lap of the pool, Max taking hold of the unicorn as Dan took his shoes off to join him on the edge of the pool, and just taking it all in for a while.
“Papa, kiss!” Oliver requested excitedly, his tiny little body already leaning towards him. Max grabbed hold of him before he could fall off the floatie and pressed a kiss to his son’s lips.  They would need to go and prepare for quali soon, but right now as he sat on the edge of the pool, his feet in the warm water, his son happily splashing his feet into the water as he sat atop his unicorn, he couldn’t help but wish for more time.

Hello! Can you write about Zen and female MC spending a romantic, sunny day at the beach together? :D
I’ve never actually written one of Zen and MC before. So I got pretty excited, I hope you like it. Today was almost 100 degree where I live! So I pretty much wrote how I left about the heat. But anyway enjoy! ♡(ïœĄ- ω -)
It was a hot summer day, probably 100 degree if not more. MC laid on the ground which was fortunately made of tile so the coldness engulfed her entire body. Yet the heat was stronger and she couldn’t help but groan in frustration. The AC was broken and all she could use to cool herself down was a fan (and the cold tile floor)
“Someone take me out of my misery” MC complained as she tossed and turned on the ground. There was a sudden loud knock at the front door which startled MC “That’s strange, I’m not expecting anyone today” She thought to herself. Slowly getting up, she made her way toward the door in a slow and lazy manner. The heat was taking a toll on her. Once she reached the door and opened it she came face to face with none other than Zen, her boyfriend.
“Zen? What are you doing here? I thought you had rehearsals?” MC asked surprised,
“Rehearsals were cancel due to the heat. Sorry that I didn’t call. Did I interrupt you?” Zen asked concerned, MC quickly shook her head no before wrapping her arms around Zen who only chuckled at her cuteness.
“Of course not. I was hoping you would come over so I could-” MC didn’t finish her sentence, her lips were against Zen’s neck and he quickly tensed up at MC’s sudden action. She slowly started to kiss his neck and he groan at her touch. It wouldn’t take long before she could leave her mark. So before things could go any further Zen pushed MC away in a soft manner.
“Babe I think the heat is getting to you” Zen chuckled brushing some of MC’s bang away from her eyes
“I know
.its just so hot and I’m so bored” MC complained.burying her face into Zen’s chest.
“You’re bored?
hmmmmmm. How about we go out” Zen suggested
“Like a date?” MC muffled against Zen’s chest.
“Yes love, like a date” Zen said as he ran his fingers through MC’s hair. She slowly brought her face up to look at Zen. She wasn’t sure about the idea of going out. Of course she would go out with Zen anytime, but the weather at the moment made her just want to laid down and die. “Where do you want to go?” MC asked. Zen pressed his lips into a straight line and thought for a bit before a huge smiled played on his lips.
“How about the beach? We’ve been dating for several months now and we haven’t been to the beach together.” He said wrapping his arms tighter around MC’s waist.
“To the beach? I guess that would be nice” MC said as she bit her bottom lip To be fairly honestly MC wasn’t sure going to the beach was a good idea. She still felt a bit insecure about her body when it came to wear swimsuits. She wasn’t skinny, she always thought of herself as chubby. But Zen thought otherwise, reminding her how beautiful she was everyday. She remembers the first time she ever slept with Zen, she was scared as to how he would react to seeing her naked for the first time. Zen on the other hand was mesmerized at how gorgeous she was, he didn’t understand how she thought otherwise. That night he showed her how much he loved and cherished her. Caressing and kissing  her entire body as he reminded how beautiful she was in his eyes.
“Than its settled, we’re going to the beach!” Zen exclaimed happily. MC couldn’t help but giggle at his excitement, of course she couldn’t say no to him.
Within minutes they had everything ready, food,towels,sunscreen,umbrella you name it. The bags were small so it would be easy to carry on Zen’s motorcycle. But before the could leave they both applied sunscreen since they had no protect during the ride. (Zen had to apply due to having such pale skin). It was about an hour drive to the beach, once they arrived they were surprised to see that there wasn’t much people as they expected. There was probably 2 families and a group of teenagers.
“I guess we picked a good day, its not crowded, thank goodness” Zen said as he stretched his arms. MC gave him a weak smile as she wrapped her arms around her bare stomach. But surely enough she felt from behind her a pair of strong arms unwrap her arms and then placed their hands on both sides of MC’s waist.
“No need to be shy babe. You’re beautiful” Zen said softly against her hair. He softly took a hold of her chin and lifted her face up toward him. His lips gently brushed against hers before softly giving her a passionate kiss. She slowly started kiss him back and was trying to hold back the urge to pull on his ponytail.
“Come on, how about we find a spot so we can continue our makeout session?” Zen asked with a grin.
“Sure but first we need to build a sandcastle” MC suddenly said before taking off toward the beach, leaving Zen in utter confusion.
“Wait did she just say sandcastle? Zen asked to himself. He only chuckled at the sight of MC already beginning to dig at the sand, it was adorable. He made his way toward MC with the bag of items they had brought along. Zen than placed the bags aside and started to fix the area where they staying at. First thing was to place the beach umbrella than the towel after that he dug through the bag a notice a small bucket and a toy shovel. He slowly took these 2 items out and looked at them in confused as to why these toys were in the bag in the first place.
“Ummm MC, did you put these in the bag?” Zen asked, MC turned around stopping her process on the sandcastle and smiled. “Yep, I brought those just in case..thank you”  MC chirped before grabbing the two items and continuing her work. Zen only chuckled as he watch her make the so call sandcastle. But surely enough MC grew tried and gave up on the idea and decided to just dig a giant hole.
“Sweetie do you really think this is a good idea?” Zen asked as took a sip from the water bottle.
“Of course!” MC exclaimed as she continued. What she didn’t realize was that the hole was deep enough to keep her trapped. “Okay, than how are you going to get out once you’re finished” Zen finally asked. Thats when she stopped and notice she had dug to deep
“Oh no, I didn’t think this through”
“No you didn’t”
“Ummmm, can you help me out please?” MC asked, Zen smiled before getting up and holding his hand out for MC. He was cautious that he could fall in so instead he started to dig at the edge of the hole making a opening so she could get out.
“Of  course my princess. Just hang in there” Zen said as he started digging. It didn’t take long to get her out and once she got out she immediately started to rebury the hole.
“Is there a reward for your rescuer?” Zen asked as he wrapped his arms around MC. She smile at his question and kissed his cheek before she sat in between Zen’s legs and laid against his chest “You’ll receive the rest of the reward once we get back home”
“Can’t wait for that” Zen chuckled before bringing MC closer to him and sitting in silence. The only sound being the waves crashing against the rocks and the heartbeat of both Zen and MC. “Maybe going to the beach wasn’t such a bad idea after all” MC thought to herself before closing her eyes and relaxing at the sound of Zen’s heartbeat.

Paper Cranes :: 5
Genre: Fluff/Angst
Word Count: 1,545
Pair: Jimin x Yoongi
Chapters: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 (of 7)
“Every Monday, Park Jimin would come into his white, sterile hospital room and leave a small paper crane at the end of his bed.”
Tumblr media
Yoongi was in the greatest mood than he had ever been. Every nurse that came in, he greeted with a smile. He even decided to leave the door wide open and open the curtains all the way to enjoy the bright, snowy view.
For a change, Yoongi wanted to take a break from lying in the bed all day and sit on a chair beside the window to admire the view. Every time he thought of the first day he played in the snow a few weeks go, a smile would creep up his lips. Ever since then, his personality brightened a little each day but his condition got worse.
Since Jimin first met Yoongi, his hair had faded from the bright mint color to almost a colorless, white look. It suited him well, thanks to the naturally pale skin he had. His hair was tangled from running his hand through it all day. The bags under his eyes were still as prominent as ever and his cheeks lost a little bit of color. But otherwise, Yoongi looked like he just rolled out of bed as he did any other day of the week.
Humming to himself to tune out the annoying heart monitor, Yoongi heard some distant shouts and turned his head toward the door. Glancing out the hall, he watched as a figure flashed past the door. A figure with the striking orange hair.
Jimin?
Yoongi’s heart pounded heavily, setting off the heart monitor. It couldn’t have been. He must have mistaken someone else as him.
But a familiar voice in the hall proved him wrong.
Instantly, Yoongi detached himself from the machines, took the oxygen out of the wall and slid on his slippers as quickly as possible. This wasn’t right. Jimin wasn’t supposed to be here.
Today was Friday.
Hoping it wasn’t what he feared, Yoongi peeked outside of his room, watching a group of patients crowd the hallway. “It’s Jimin.” “Oh no, and his father was doing so well too.” “I’ve never seen him look this terrified.” He heard the patients mutter to each other and pushed his way through them to witness the scene just outside of a familiar room. His father’s room.
“Jimin, you can’t come inside, you’ll get in the doctors way.” One of the nurses tried to move him out of the way so another could roll a cart filled with medicine inside.
Yoongi watched the scene in shock. He had never seen the expression on Jimin’s face before. There was always a smile on his face, no matter the situation. But instead, all he could see were fear in his eyes. Jimin yelled and begged to let him in, but the nurse wouldn’t budge.
Nurses urged the patients to go back into their room as it was causing a disturbance across the 6th floor. They all knew about Jimin and his father. The murmuring increased as Yoongi pushed his way through the crowd of concerned patients. “Excuse me, let me through.” His voice shook as he watched Jimin’s breathing increase rapidly.
Squeezing through, Yoongi managed to get past the nurses and stood beside Jimin, taking his hand in his own as Jimin turned around in surprise. “Min Yoongi.” “What happened Jimin?” Yoongi asked he peered in the room on the other side of the hall, watching as the professionals stood around a bed, someone shouting some words he couldn’t make out.
“I got a call from them saying it was an emergency, but they haven’t said anything yet-” Before he could finish, the doctor rolled his father’s bed out of the room and down the hall. “What’s going on? Where are you taking him?” Jimin yelled at one of the nurses as he pulled Yoongi with him to follow.
They eventually came to a stop in front of two giant sliding doors that was forbidden from entering. A nurse stopped them in their tracks before Jimin made any rash decisions. “A few organs in his body are failing, they have to pull him into surgery right away. We’re not sure how it’s happening, but your father’s condition had become unstable this past week.” The nurse softly told him as if she had done this hundreds, maybe thousands of times. The boy beside Yoongi fell to his knees, no emotion could be read on his face, and it terrified him.
“Jimin.” He said his name quietly, pulling him up from the floor. “Let’s sit over here, we can wait here until your father comes out. He’s got a fighter in him, you’ve told me so.” Jimin didn’t respond, but Yoongi knew he heard him. Leading him to a room full of chairs with a few families scattered amongst them, he sat Jimin down in one of the empty row of chairs. He couldn’t find any other words to say. This was a hospital, there was nothing comforting about this place. Instead, Yoongi sat patiently beside Jimin, his hand gently holding his for comfort. Jimin kept his eyes on the doors to the surgery room. It opened every now and then for nurses to run in and out. But Jimin’s heart stopped every single time the doors moved.
Yoongi felt his hand tremble a bit and gave it a reassuring squeeze. “Hey,” Jimin listened but his eyes remained glued on the sliding doors. “Remember when you told me about Busan? About the lamb skewer restaurant? Well picture it exactly how you described it to me.” Yoongi said quietly, turning Jimin’s words toward him. “But instead of just me eating alone, imagine the both of us. I’m on my twentieth skewer and not even close to being full yet. We’re watching your father build a sandcastle with your little brother on the beach. The day is bright and sunny, your whole family is laughing. There isn’t a single worry about anything in the world.” He stopped momentarily and continued.
“When your father comes out of those doors there, that’s exactly what we’ll do. We’ll take you and your father back home and do everything we can until our legs give out. Okay?”
Jimin turned his head toward him, glancing into his eyes. Yoongi couldn’t make out what he was thinking, but for a moment, he saw a glimmer of hope in his eyes. It was so quick, if he blinked, he would have missed it.
Without a word, Jimin wrapped his arms around Yoongi’s shoulders, burying his face in the nape of his neck. “Thank you
you’re right. We’ll all go to Busan together.” Yoongi put a hand on his back, patting it gently as Jimin’s trembling shoulders finally calmed.
------------
The hours grew on with dread. The hall full of chairs got emptier and the sky outside the window darkened. Jimin was fast asleep on Yoongi’s shoulder. The stress must have knocked the poor boy out. Just before Yoongi himself was about to pass out, a nurse approached him with a concerned expression.
“I’m sorry, Yoongi, but you have to go back to your room now. You’ve been out too long and you need to start another round of medication.”
Yoongi sighed and begged her for him to stay out a little longer, but he already did that far too many times earlier. The nurse gave her final word. Defeated, Yoongi nudged Jimin lightly, waking him up from slumber. “Jimin
I have to go back to my room now. Do you want to come with? I can convince the nurse for you to stay for the night.” Jimin sat up and shook his head tiredly, running a hand through his pumpkin hair.
“I want to wait here until my dad comes out. I’ll be fine, go to your room.” He gave Yoongi a nod of approval with a faint smile. “Go on.”
Yoongi hesitated for a moment but then stood up and followed the nurse down the hall. As he was about to turn the corner, he heard the doors behind him opened up and spun around. A doctor walked out with a solemn expression and approached Jimin. Yoongi stopped in his tracks but the nurse urged him to keep going. The oxygen in his tank was running out and without it, he would go into another asthma attack. But that wasn’t important to him.
“Are you Jimin?” He faintly heard before turning the corner and paused, listening carefully as the nurse nudged him lightly. “I’m sorry Jimin
” Yoongi couldn’t make out the rest, but according to the scream that sent a shiver down his spine, it was exactly as he feared.
His heart had never felt so heavy in his life. He never this kind of pain in his chest before, a ball of fear in growing in his stomach. He wanted to do everything he could in his power to turn around and run back to Jimin’s side. To tell him that the doctor was lying, that it was just a bad dream he could wake up from. That he would continue waiting by his side until his father walked out of those doors.
Instead, Yoongi followed the nurse back to his room, filled with regret that he knew would hang onto him for the rest of his life.
That Monday, Jimin never came to his room.

Opening Up
Clare: wanted him to be able to trust her. She might talk to his brothers but she wouldn’t do it behind his back and if Kota was uncomfortable or they overshared, Clare would stop. “I think they’re confused.” She didn’t say anything else on the subject. Prying only lead to being shut out. He had all the time in the world to tell her if and when he was ready. Clare looked away soon as she saw Kota’s bad reaction to the home movies. How could she have known to say no? She still felt shocked about Makayla. Technically the accident was years ago. For her, it was like it just happened. Clare didn’t imagine Kota wanted her to think of Makayla as some girl in a story. Watching the DVD changed that. Makayla became real. Her personality was preserved in the video. Clare thought she could talk to her without feeling stupid now. She had to know who she was addressing because Clare didn’t believe someone’s spirit was really in an urn. Soon as you died, you parted ways with your earthly body. She liked to think you could still be heard by people in heaven though. Clare glanced at Kota when he sat back down because the second part came on. Maybe he hadn’t watched all of it before. Her eyes immediately returned to the TV. Clare stared intensely at the screen like she had during the birthday party taking everything in. She laughed when Makayla said Kota could go to college. “What was so bad about that? I already knew how freakishly smart you are.” Clare teased. “It was just kids being kids.” She thought the spooning was sweet because they were only ten. If Clare had to watch Kota doing that NOW with another girl she’d be hurt. There were limitations placed on their physical intimacy so it took on greater importance to her. She leaned in close to Kota and added quietly so only he could hear. “Of course my mom never would’ve allowed me to sleep in the same bed with a boy much less filmed it. We have a family friend Jake, and she used to separate Darcy and me from him at naptime.” She rolled her eyes and smiled. “You can get back at me for watching the DVD by winning my parents over. Then you’ll have access to Clare: the awkward years. All fifteen of them.” Clare put her hand on top of Kota’s. “I’m happy I got meet Makayla for real.” She said inclining her head towards the TV. “What did she want to do after high school? If it’s okay to ask that. You weren’t going to leave at age ten obviously but have you ever thought about going to college early?” Clare asked curiously. Of course Emi couldn’t live in a dorm. So whenever Kota went he’d have to live off campus.
Kota: looked at Clare when she mentioned his brothers. "They are, they don't know who Makayla was and I never told them about her, nor did my mom. Dom met Stacy before Makayla and I met, everyone made fun of him at home. I used to get made fun of all the time, I didn't need to add Makayla to the list, still don't." he said honestly knowing he'd still be made fun of. After the movie when Clare started to ask questions Kota smiled at her. "She didn't tell me or anyone for that matter and she hid her diary, we still can't find it. Actually I've been going to college, TU to be exact. I've been attending various classes online since I was ten. Teachers are starting to tell me to pick a degree or multiple degrees for that matter and I recently took Emi with me to register my major in business. I'll be taking those classes starting this summer. I also attend actual classes at TU too, that started when I was ten as well. My mom told me if I wanted to she'll take me to TU on the weekends when Makayla was busy and I can sit in. I was eight or nine at the time. It was strange sitting in a classroom full of adults and walking around campus at about three foot tall with everyone towering over you asking if you were lost. I was soon asked by one of the adults if I can tutor them so we ate lunch in his dorm as I tutored multiple adults. I'm still asked to tutor now, but it's hard finding the time so when I'm able to I'll Skype with them. It's kind of why I fall asleep in classes at Degrassi and also why some of the teachers don't care. Come to think of it, I used to tutor Kelly too, all of her friends were jealous she's my sister because she had the advantage. I stopped going on weekends when I was told about Emi." he explained as he put in another DVD, this one was of them at the age of five sitting in the beach building sand castles. "Who discobered Jupiter's four moons?" Makayla asked as both patted sand on a mound. "Galileo in 1610, but he didn't know they were moons. He thought they were stars, did you know stars are just giant balls of gas radiating light eons and lightyears away from Earth?" he asked and Makayla made a confused face trying to understand. "Where do you know all this stuff?" She asked curiously. "I learned it from an astronomy book I got from the library my big sister and my mom took me to. Astronomy is the study of the stars and space." he explained. "And what about things called soulmates that grown ups talk about?" she asked him. "It's said to believe us, humans have an unconnected counter part or someone they're meant to have a family and live happily with called soulmates. Plato, not play-dough clay we have at home, was an Ancient Greek Philosopher who believed that a long time ago we were born with two faces, four arms, and four legs. Zeus, a Greek God, got jealous of their power and split us in half, condemning us to spend our life trying to find out who completes us. My favorite out is all is the String of Fate formed in Asia, it's said that we are all born with a red string tied to our pinkie finger and the other end is connected to the person we're meant to be with. The string may get tangled, twisted, and knotted as we try to look for that person, but it never breaks no matter how tangled it gets." he explained as they continued to put more and more sand on their mound. "I don't think this looks like our sandcastle." Makayla said making a sour face. "It stopped being a sandcastle a while ago, but it's nice talking and building whatever this is." Kota smiled and Makayla started to pat sand back onto whatever they were building and he taught her things he learned. "The red string of fate is still my favorite theory, though I read a manga where this girl fell in love with a Shinigami. A Shinigami is the Japanese God of Death, there are many theories about them too from how they look, how they know when and how we die, to how rules they have." he stated and looked at Clare. "Makayla also loved when I taught her things. It made me happy even though she couldn't connect with me on the same level, she tried and remembered most of it. I once tried to explain to her Steven Hawkings' Theory Of Relativity, but she didn't really understand it until the accident. I tutored her too." he explained and looked around before leaning over to kiss her chastely. "Do you want to watch another one or is two enough?"
