SO, I usually don't get too involved in fandom discourse, but with how Baxter fans are acting about the loss in the MDDB I snapped and decided we should have a talk.

(This turned out longer than expected so more under the cut. I BEG YOU TO READ THIS AND TOP UNDERSTAND WHERE THE ANGER AND FRUSTRATION COME FROM.

Specifically I want to talk about this fandom obsession with him and how, is getting to a point where people are legitimately re-writing the game and erasing Cove existence to have this fucking man instead.

And look, I want to say that I get the appeal, I do, but I don't because Baxter's route is genuinely the worst written one out of the three; Compared to Cove's and Derek's (and Derek treatment in the fandom is a WHOLE OTHER ISSUE) is really not. I'm not here to judge one taste, I am here to tell you that your love for him is ridiculous.

It is genuinely ridiculous how much popular he has gotten and so many of you are forgetting about Cove and how important he is to the story, and generally how he is important to a lot of marginalized people. Some of you keep forgetting that Cove is autistic and demiseuxal and that is such a rare representation to see and it is already erased in the fandom (especially his autism), but now is even more erased because people are grabbing everything that makes Cove Cove, and are applying it to Baxter.

That is also not touching the fandom treatment of Derek and how overly criticize his route his compared to Baxter's, like...DEREK'S PARENTS ARE GETTING MORE SHIT THAT BAXTER CANONICAL BIGOTED PARENTS LOL, WHAT IS THIS?? Are you guys serious?? I've seen a fanfic with Irene being transphobic, why the fuck would someone write that when Baxter's mom is right there?

And Derek shitty treatment doesn't end here because people are straight up erasing the guy and not ?? talking about on how well written he is ?? He is not erased sorry, he's forgotten, no one cares about him. And when people care is a) rare or b) so criticize to the point where is no longer a criticism but just you bitching about it.

And it doesn't end there! Baxter is so talked about that people are more interested in him making a cameo in OL:N&F than the main characters of that game, THAT'S HOW THINGS HAVE GOTTEN, We've gotten to a point where people cares more about some white man than Qiu or Tamarack, which are way more interesting than him as characters but neither of them are white skinny man so lol, who cares about them.

AND TO TOP THIS SHITSHOW IT SOMEHOW GETS WORSE FROM HERE BECAUSE PEOPLE DON'T EVEN ARE CARE ABOUT THE INTERESTING ASPECTS OF BAXTER'S CHARACTER!!

Everyone is molding him like clay to create this, confident rich white boy when he is not?? and that's...the whole point of his route?? That he shouldn't need to put up this mask and to actually be a fucking human being?? I personally think that is due of both his queerness and autism (and yeah his personality, but autism affects ones personality so lol, sue me) since demisexuality means he genuinely doesn't understand how people can feel sexual attraction, and mixing that with autism means he probably doesn't understand the SOCIAL pressure around sex and having sex.

no leaks will be discussed, and i'd prefer it if none will be mentioned :) i'll start by talking about some of my own observations and then adding some observations i like that i've seen online

to get this out of the way: yes he does share a similar pose to alhaitham's splash art. it may be intentional, it may be unintentional, but the similarity to alhaitham's pose is not important to me rn. i'll discuss his pose later

one of the seven sages, the founder of one of the schools actually, and which is oh so coincidentally called nousporist. named seemingly after nous, which is not only a concept the real life anaxagoras talked plenty about, but also the name of one of the aeons.

we've known abt anaxa's connections to the nousporist school for a while (see image above) but we still don't really know what they do, yknow? each school of the grove has their own Thing but we dont really know what the nousporist (and nodist ig but theyre not that important rn) specialty is. (Although in bringing up the nodist school i find it interesting that we don't really know about both the oldest and youngest school of thought in the grove). i personally theorize that nousporist study things like the foundation of the universe, since the concept of nous was used to explain how chaotic matter was "ordered" into the proper universe (vast oversimplification but my point stands)

his rules might be respect things. as in he will respect you on some metric if you respect his rules (or if you are "lower" than him/not that close to him you must respect them?). essentially boundaries that are worded in a way that makes people wanna punt him in the face. maybe he just isn't comfortable with people he does not know too well calling him any shortened form of his name. and no one likes being interrupted while they speak lets be real. "silence is golden, remember that." referring to the person he is speaking to, yes, but he himself must believe it applies to him as well to some extent

"Demised scholar"...mildly upsetting considering the Implications. could be a metaphorical demise in the way his ideas have him "dead" to some people but honestly im pretty sure it has to do with the time loop/simulation theory thats very popular with ampho theorizing. theres speculation that he may know abt the "truth of amphoreus" and maybe the title of demised scholar makes me believe that this is to be his fate in a way ? this one is pure speculation

even the caption is ridiculing him. damn. also. "In a world full of lies, I am the only truth" sounds pretentious as hell but there ought to be some merit of truth to it. will get back to this later when i talk about the stuff others have observed

ALSO the question marks after the divine authority are odd and kinda sus. even if it signified that a character didn't have their coreflame, mydei didn't have any in his drip marketing, so chances are it can't be that.

anaxa himself: there isn't much rn that I personally observed with anaxa other than the fact that red gemstones feature a lot in his design and seem to play some significance to him in general. visually this makes sense (red is a good contrasting color for the blue-green color scheme he has going on) but lore-wise it probably means something. my two cents is that the red gems are related to nous in some way but those are my very Wild ramblings. also the pattern on his arm (the one hidden by his glove) looks the same as the pattern on the background. i saw someone say that it's the chrysos heir pattern but im not sure. also the blue flame coming out from his eye is very odd. i still hold onto those odin connections. will revisit later

midground: the splash art features six of the little green sprite ghost things. they may be a reference to the sages of the other schools of the grove because yknow theres six other schools and the head of each school is called a sage so we've got the whole gang in one splash but the explanation could be entirely different from what i suggest

the roots covering the bookshelves...im gonna be honest i didn't think there were book books in amphoreus before this just cause i didn't remember seeing any. i think the roots covering the bookshelves is a small peak at what the grove might look like in evernight state?

the background: THE GLASS IS CRACKED. his shadow is reflected onto the glass and there is a very prominent crack at the face of his shadow, specifically his eye. combine that with the odd flame that comes out of his eye, and im thinking there is absolutely a connection between that and the reason why and how he lost his eye. glass, mirrors, reflective surfaces, those are typically associated with the remembrance, so there again the glass cracking I feel connects to simulation theory

The translation of the secret message on his splash art is "The seeds you've sown are already sprouting" maybe any plans hes laid are already being set into motion. thats the most obvious way to interpret this imo

okay: again about the pose. this then moves on to other people's observations. on reddit it was pointed out that his pose has similarities with the most common design for The Fool tarot card. Anaxa was described as "The Foolish" in the golden epic trailer and the Fool tarot card is about new beginnings and is the first stage in the fool's journey

on twitter it was pointed out how anaxa's name graphic resembles nous. personally i think his connections to nous in general are Incredibly suspect bc. yknow. everything. gonna have to wait for the trailer ig until then

and also in general (not related to the splash art atp just me rambling) anaxa already has some natural vs artificial/mechanical themes if we add nous and cerces into the equation. the two deities of knowledge seem to manifest it/obtain it through different means (cerces' nature theming vs nous' mechanical nature) and anaxa seems to partake in both of those methods (stretch, but in the golden epic trailer there are diagrams of i think a cone and a sphere behind anaxa and those could be interpreted as either mathematics or blueprints. also anaxa uses a gun. in any fantasy setting a gun is the least nature-y weapon one could have). i think in general there's something interesting about the two contrasting themes of intelligence but if i tried elaborating on them further rn i...no.)

Scars and Shampoo - Suguru Geto x Reader

[A short little mix of fluff and angst. Themes of mental health but nothing crazy. I think it was gonna be longer but I wanna move on to something new oops 😭 Word count: 1600]

Something has been different about Suguru Geto lately.

You've barely seen him around Jujutsu High, and when you do, the conversation never lasts very long. He passes through like a ghost, inevitably going back to his missions without a trace. You'd ask Satoru about it, but something deep down makes you feel like that's not the best idea. So, today's the day you'll get to the bottom of it yourself.

You take a deep breath and knock on the door. “Suguru? It's Y/N, are you in there?”

No response. You knock again, and this time, the door opens after a few moments.

“A-Ah, Y/N, I'm sorry for keeping you waiting out here. Come in.” Suguru motions for you to enter with a halfhearted smile.

“Don't mind the clutter, I wasn't expecting company,” he comments, closing the door. “What exactly brings you here? Don't you have work to do at Jujutsu High?

“Well, actually, I came to check on you.”

Suguru scoffs, sitting on the couch and resting his head on his hand as if the question alone gave him a headache. You join him, internally praying you don't piss him off too much and get pushed away like usual.

“I just had a feeling something might be wrong,” you continue. “That maybe you had a rough mission or Gojo pissed you off or something.”

Suguru smiles sadly, staring down at his folded hands. “You're closer to the truth than you think.”

“Well… Can we talk about it? I'm worried about you, yknow.”

Suguru sighs, leaning back on the couch. “I wouldn't know where to start.”

You give him a moment, hoping he'll take the hint and keep talking. In the meantime, you look him up and down. Even after a mission, he's never looked this exhausted. In fact, on some occasions he'd manage to come back even more energized, goofing around with Satoru and telling you all about the hijinks they got into the moment he returned.

His hair, usually tied perfectly into his signature bun, is left down today. The black strands fall chaotically over his shoulders, nearly blending in with his back sweatshirt. Without thinking, you lift your hand. Suguru flinches as your fingers get caught in the unusual frizz.

“Y/N? What are you doing?” He watches you curiously, his brows furrowed. You blush, pulling your hand back.

“Sorry! It's just… Your hair, have you washed it recently?”

Suguru glances away, a pang of shame shooting through him. “Now that I think about it, I guess not…” he admits. You feel bad for bringing it up, but you can't just let it go either.

“...Can I wash your hair?”

Suguru’s eyes widen. “O-Oh, you really don't have to do that, Y/N. I can take care of it myself, really,” he scrambles out.

“I want to, Suguru,” you reassure him, resting a hand on his shoulder. He's tense.

“I-I guess I wouldn't mind it…” he admits. “As long as you're okay with it, of course,” he adds. You stand from the couch, heading toward the bathroom. Suguru follows anxiously behind you, his mind racing. Is this really okay?

You turn on the hot water and shuffle through Suguru's cabinet until you find a bottle of bubble bath soap. You pour the liquid into the tub, the room quickly filling with a sweet aroma. “There we go! I'll turn around while you get in, okay? You can cover up under the bubbles,” you chuckle. “If you're uncomfortable at any point, just let me know.” You don't know how you're keeping up this level of confidence, but it's too late now. You'd do anything to help this man let off some stress.

“O-Okay.” Suguru blushes, watching as you close your eyes and turn away. He hesitates for a moment as he makes sure you're not looking, before lifting his sweater over his head and dropping his heavy sweatpants. He steps cautiously into the tub, the water meeting his body warmly. He couldn't name the last time he enjoyed a bath like this.

Suguru rests his back against the wall of the tub, his body turned away from you, and exhales slowly. “Okay, I'm in.”

You turn around, your eyes wandering from Suguru's flowing hair down to the muscles of his shoulders and back. Your heart flutters. "So, how's the water?”

“Good…” he sighs, closing his eyes. “W-Well, you can go ahead…”

You let your fingers wander from the top of Suguru’s head all the way down to the ends of his hair in an attempt to get him more comfortable. He shivers in response to your touch.

“Ready?” you whisper. He nods, lowering his head. You can't see from behind him, but he gazes down at the rippling water in disbelief that this is really happening.

You reach for the bottle of shampoo on the edge of the tub, squirting a generous amount into your hands. The smell of the shampoo momentarily overpowers that of the bubble bath - it reminds you of the woods surrounding Jujutsu High. You slowly start lathering the shampoo into Suguru’s hair, starting at the top and working your way to the bottom. His shoulders relax as he feels his tension washing away for the first time in a while.

“Does this feel good, Suguru?” You whisper. He nods.

“Yes… Please, keep going…”

You continue massaging your hands through his hair, working out every knot until you can run your fingers through every portion with ease. Then you reach both hands into the tub, scooping warm water up and letting it run down through Suguru's hair. He sighs, tilting his head upwards to make it easier for you to wash out the shampoo. You glimpse at his face - for the first time in a while, he looks peaceful.

“Your hair is so soft, Suguru,” you note as you let the dark strands run between your fingers. His soft chuckle echoes against the bathroom walls.

The room falls silent, save for the sound of the running water.

“Why…” Suguru whispers under his breath.

“Why are you doing this for me?”

His voice breaks. He buries his face in his knees, muffling his sobs. You pause before continuing to run your nails along his scalp.

“Because, I care about you so much, Suguru, I would do anything to help you right now…” you reply quietly.

“Why? I don't deserve any of this!” He chokes out, shaking his head.

Why, why, why…

You move your hands to his shoulders, rubbing them carefully.

“It's okay, Suguru… Everything is gonna be okay…”

His sobs become more sparce, and soon, his back is rising and falling with calmer breaths. He wipes his eyes with the back of his hand and lets out a strained laugh.

“I, uhm… I needed this,” he says with a bittersweet smile. “I'm sorry, Y/N…”

He turns to face you fully, his face tinted red from crying and maybe a hint of embarrassment at the situation as a whole. “Why don't we get back to my room? The bath was lovely, really...”

You nod with a soft smile. “Do you want me to turn around again?”

“Actually, uhm… It's fine, Y/N, I trust you…”

You're taken aback as he stands from the water, revealing his bare body. He holds his arm anxiously. However, your eyes don't have much time to wander before you notice something.

“Suguru, what the hell happened to your chest?”

For the first time you can see the large, x-shaped scar slashed across his skin. There's no way that's always been there. Now you really know you're out of the loop - all you knew was that he left for a mission, and came back different.

He grabs a towel, hastily drying his hair before wrapping it around his torso. “Why don't we go sit down…” How could he even begin to explain what happened?

You follow Suguru to his room and sit next to him on the edge of the bed. Stray water droplets fall from the tips of his hair onto the towel on his lap. He sighs.

“On my last mission with Satoru… I failed. And, well… It's like it was all for nothing.”

You listen intently as he opens up about the mission. About Riko, Gojo, Toji. Everything. You had no idea.

“So this happened on your mission…” you run your fingertips absentmindedly along Suguru's skin, tracing along the scar. Something about seeing him wounded like this makes your chest ache.

“You're really comfortable today, huh?” Suguru blushes.

“I-I'm sorry! I just-”

Suguru smiles, this time genuine. “It's okay, really. I'm glad you feel that way around me.” He rests his hand on top of yours. “It's been a long time since I've been this close to anyone. It feels nice…”

He watches as you continue tracing your fingers along the scar. It's oddly comforting to him.

“Y/N, can I…”

He leans close to your face, his dark eyes staring into yours. This time, there's something more than sadness to be found in his gaze.

“I'm sorry, I… I want to kiss you…”

Without hesitation you allow your lips to meet his. You both needed this. You rest your hands on the back of his head, playing gently with his now silky-smooth hair. It's still a little damp, but you don't mind one bit.

Suguru pulls back, letting out a nervous laugh. “I-Is it bad to ask you to stay for a while? It seems like we both have a lot more to open up about…”

You plant another kiss on his lips.

Maybe that's all he needed: to know that even for the moment, he's not alone. And that just maybe, that mission wasn't all for nothing.

despite the fact that karl HATES people, surely he can make an exception for any fellow regressors, for its very likely theyve been emotionally burdened and scarred as him

however, this can make karl somewhat clingy and protective when it comes to caring, for he doesnt want anything or anyone to taint such a pure, kindhearted soul, probably to make up for what happened to rachel

speaking of rachel, karl often plays what he learned from her on the violin to his little one(s), especially if theyre the sleepy type of little, for them its like hes playing them a little lullaby

when hes not playing his tunes, however, karl would entertain regressors with the help of arma, who shapeshifts to assist karl in performing and showing tricks to his little(s) (this time theyre non-lethal, unlike in the tournament)

karl is surprisingly really good at handling fussy and chaotic regressors, mainly because he doesnt appear to get mad at them for simply being them, plus, he had to deal with kids like that all the time when the park was still operating

as a result of staying calm yet joyful among regressors, he also does really well at calming littles down, especially during events like tantrums and meltdowns, where he can provide comfort with ease

however, karl still wants to make sure his little(s) is safe and would swoop them out of danger when he can sense it, most likely with the help of arma and a cool little trick or two with her

karl usually just stays in pirates cove, but wouldnt mind traversing other areas in the park if asked to, maybe even start an adventure with his little one(s) around the park, wouldnt that be fun?

Aventurine and the Masked Fools: An Uncut Ramble of a Mad Man With Bad Sleep

OKAY I'VE WANTED TO TALK ABOUT THIS FOR AGES SO HERE GOES: Aventurine being invited to join the masked fools is so awesome. Like just, genuinely so so so awesome. I LOVE THE MASKED FOOLS, THEIR EASILY MY FAVORITE FACTION IN GAME, AHA IS MY FAVORITE AEON. I've been big into their lore since 1.0 but for a lot of non-masked fool fans Penacony was an introduction to the masked fools for a lot of people.

I think they did great, AND HERE'S WHY. During Penacony we get to see Sampo and Sparkle, what I'd say are the two opposite ends of the masked fools:

Sparkle is a genuinely chaotic evil type of character; she enjoys suffering, she finds pleasure in the pain she causes right. She just likes messing with people in often the most cruel ways, and revels in the chaos. She is the most heinous and evil type of masked fool (and its really cool I love a good chaotic evil). She also appears to be how a lot of the Galaxy views the masked fools: as these evil weirdos who make no sense.

On the other hand, you get Sampo. Now, big lore enthusiasts have been theorizing he's a masked fool since like day 1, and it was confirmed back in the version Topaz came out in (I wanna say 1.4 but I might be wrong). But he's the exact opposite: he views those who find their elation through suffering (like Sparkle) to be distasteful. He doesn't like them, and it almost seems like he looks down/dislikes MOST of the other masked fools. Sure, he is all for going against the law, a little petty crime, some fun chaos, but he clearly has boundaries; he never seriously harms anyone, he never does any really horrific crimes, and we know he's good with kids. In fact, he enjoys playing with Hook and the other moles. He's a chaotic neutral sure but overall he's probably a positive force to Belobog. (Also I have a theory that he orchestrated most of the Belobog plot to take down Cocolia and save it but its not technically canon so yknow).

NOW WE GET TO THE DECISION TO THE FACT AVENTURINE WAS INVITED TO JOIN.

Now I'm gonna explain something a lot of people don't get about the Masked Fools; they are not purely chaotic, they do have a basic ideology, they believe life is meaningless and thus one should have as much elation in their lives as possible. BASICALLY: LIFE IS POINTLESS, HAVE FUN. Which each Masked Fool we've met interprets differently. The other aspect of the Masked Fools is often, NOT ALWAYS BUT OFTEN the ideology attracts people desperate, depressed by life, destroyed in some way. And they tend to reach out to these people as well; it makes sense, if your life has been miserable suffering for no reason, then yeah that would appeal.

AND AVENTURINE IS ONE OF THE BEST APPEAL TO SHOW THIS WITH. His life is horrific, tragedy after tragedy, loss after loss, his freedom almost always out of his hands; he's lived a terrible life that he really never had control in. And prior to the ending of 2.2 he didn't believe he had anyone like truly anyone there for him.

So the Masked fools call out to him, and I think this was a great way to show the masked fools to a lot of more casual fans too: immediately you can connect the dots a lot of them probably were miserable or had horrible lives. Hell I haven't read Sparkle's lil character stories but from my understanding her life was/is pretty damn terrible. It also helps with Aventurine's character; he doesn't want to view life as meaningless, despite the fact he's clearly suicidal, he clearly sees a point in life. My mutual has much better explained it but yeah he connects much more to the preservation than you might initially think. Also ignoring the iffy elements of it I think having Sparkle and Aventurine interact so much was a smart decision thematically, as though this hopelessness the Masked Fools embrace is clawing at Aventurine, trying to lure him in, encapsalate him, and yet it doesn't. He finds a purpose, a will to live, he realizes he does have people who care for him ITS GREAT.

hmm, well, i don't remember the last time i properly designed an original character, so nothing on that front. for reimagining designs... i don't have a step by step way i do it, it varies from character to character, but i can point out some of the things i do that might be helpful?

i largely base my designs on the vibes the character gives me: their manner of speech, their actions, their story and personality. and also the world and environment around them if it affects the character. it sounds pretty obvious but like, duh.

im gonna try and explain on gillion's example since its the one you mentioned. he's a himbo, a swimmer and a paladin, so he's gonna be buff or at least a little thicker. he's a triton, so he's short. he's also short for the reason that he is in an unfamiliar for him world and he might feel small in it. he's also short because it makes him look almost child like, connecting it to his trauma and lack of childhood that manifests in his behavior now. gillion is kind or at least trying to be, so his features will be softer and rounder. but sometimes he's chaotic or harsh, so he has some sharp features too. though they're secondary, the softness is still the main focus.

i also really like to think and overthink the designs while drawing. i try to keep everything simpler and less detailed, showing personality with shapes rather than uhh presence(?), but that means that details i do include have a lot of thought behind them.

one of my favorite things is practically. i love to think about what a character would realistically wear in the climate they're in, which clothing would be comfortable for their anatomy and field of work. would certain things get in the way or would they be helpful? how would they style their hair, do they need it tied back or do they not care? would they wear make up, why yes or why not? etc etc etc. i like asking myself questions and answering them in the design.

continuing with the gillion example. he's constantly wet because he's a triton (again, yes), so it would be more comfortable for him to wear a wetsuit. other clothes may stick to him and be uncomfortable, or get stuck on his fins, etc. he doesn't have any piercings, there's no way he would've gotten them in the undersea, and on the surface i don't think there was anything meaningful enough to promt him to get it. plus fin ears. he doesn't have his hair styled in a complicated way because of the coral on his head. doesn't wear a lot of jewelry because he jumps in the water a lot and it'll easily get lost. no belts or flowy bits because they constrict the movement and might get in the way.

and then like. all the personal headcanons and preferences and little bits and things. there's a lot of elements that i draw just because i like how they look. or because that's a comfortable thing for me, or because it's cute or hot or sad or whatever. or because i saw it while looking for inspiration and i really liked it. just bullshitting with the design and making it my own, yknow?

for gillion. gave him a cool long tail and lots of fins everywhere because i like it when inhuman characters are openly and visibly inhuman and have distinct features. and gillion is VERY much not human, part of his personality is being confused about humans. big ol yellow eyes with slits — look cool, also doubles as an inhuman feature, also makes him look curious about the world. small black stripes all over his body — make him look more fishy, plus because there's a lot of them and they're all the same they form a pattern that looks more like a natural anatomical feature and draw less attention. coral that goes around his head and not only the front like a tiara— makes it feel more three dimensional and looks cool in perspective (also i kinda just drew it wrong and never fixed it). coral and fins are pink — adds some much needed color variation and contrast, plus pink is one of the more natural colors which again make him look animalistic and not magical, plus ties in with pretzel. his skin is closer to green than blue — removes blue from the color pallet (especially with his eyes being yellow instead of blue), making the design more coherent and pleasing, allows me to properly introduce reds and purples without it looking like a mess of colors (although it still does sometimes). sharp teeth — fish, cute. yellowish underbelly — supports the yellow for the eyes and makes it stand out less, plus again, animalistic feature. little to no details on the clothing — creates good negative space that lets the eyes rest and focus the attention on everything else. his fringe and hair are floating around and don't follow the laws of physics — personal headcanon that it always looks like he's under water, plus adds roundness to the design because of the waves and curls.

ookay haha sorry didn't mean to write down literally every design decision here-- kind of derailed the post again.

basically yeah, for me designing is like a dialog with myself where i ask and answer questions. also something that wasn't mentioned are references and inspiration. if i don't have a good idea when i start, i usually scroll through my gallery or pinterest for some time to get ideas and figure out the general direction i want to take the design, maybe also find some fun stuff to include, etc.

hopefully this long ramble was at least somewhat helpful or gave you insight on my progress. i wanted to draw some things to also visually explain the design decisions for gill, but i think I'll do it later and in a separate post, and maybe include chip and jay too...

MY DEAR 🪦 ANON...YOU KNOW..I THINK WE MIGHT HAVE MORE IN COMMON THAN I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT. Daily Hobie HC! I couldn't do character study tonight because of assignments but tomorrow I swear It's almost impossible to be proper enemies with the Spider-Punk, which was the cause for the weird friendship between the two of you. Being the Prowler, it was an oddity to see you and Spidey, as you call him, running around like chaotic children on the roofs. Some days, you both manage to do your jobs well done, being in a pretty good mood. Other days? Sometimes the other just needed to vent out pent-up frustration, which was the main cause for the battles everyone else sees. Sometimes, Spidey just needed to punch things, and would use you as his own punching bag with your permission, always keeping an ear out for the word 'pulp', a safeword in case it got too much to handle.

Other times, it was you who needed to beat the shit out of Spidey, curling in the robotic claws of your gauntlet and powering it into his chest, knocking him back. After these venting fights, you both would seek refuge in a nearby alleyway or a secluded area, tending to each other's wounds after the battle. During this period, it was usually verbal venting, with various 'what's wrong?'s and reassurance. The fact that you both acted like close friends, yet never knew how each other looked like, never even entered his or your mind. Once, Hobie sat on the edge of a roof, looking down at the hazy city below, sniffling slightly under his suit. He felt as if he was coming down with something, his throat feeling itchy. Luckily, you managed to appear right next to him, taking your own seat and asking the casual question of how he is, handing a crinkly brown bag with a donut inside for him. As the two of you conversed, with Hobie rolling up the bottom of his mask to eat the food you had brought him, he mentions about how he might be coming down with something. Hobie nods and smiles as you offer to take over for him until he feels better, which definitely doesn't go unpaid by him. The moment he's up and running again, he nicks some food for you as well and offers it to you as a payment gift. Although he knew you couldn't exactly eat it in front of him due to your helmet, you always ensured to eat it when you were alone. One fight, while Hobie was taking out his stress of being Spider-Man, he had accidentally landed a punch that messed up the control of your helmet, springing it wide open and unintentionally face revealing you. Hobie paused as you tried to quickly fix it, to no avail. With an awkward chuckle, he gives you a very out of pocket compliment, genuinely feeling taken aback at how lovely you were on his eyes. No doubt, the ordeal was quickly forgotten with the sound of laughter, until Hobie decided to even it out and pulled his mask up fully, causing you to choke on your own spit briefly. Oh no. He's hot. -🐦‍⬛

Early Riser Ch. 3

My Senku-Wakes-Up-Early AU where Senku wakes up 10 years after the petrification.

Chapter 2

By the time they manage to get to the bank where Yuzuriha’s dad works, she’s made a very compelling argument for reviving him, if only because he can, yknow. Actually drive.

Senku concedes the point with only some minimal protests about how he’s totally improving on the driving front, and notes the fact that it probably would be a good idea to have at least one adult in their party since the farmers in northern Kanto probably won’t take three fifteen-year-olds very seriously, potentially jeopardizing the overall mission.

Yuzuriha says she’d be okay with reviving only her dad since she knows their revival fluid supplies are limited, but Senku shrugs and says it’d be better for their psychological well being to bring her mom along too. Plus more bodies is still more bodies, especially since even with Taiju lugging around a bunch of stuff is getting to be a bit tiring. He pretends not to see how Yuzuriha obviously deflates in relief and gratitude when he mentions this.

And so Ogawa Makoto is the fifth person to wake up in this strange new world.

Yuzuriha throws her arms around her dad as soon as he starts breathing again, and he blinks down at them curiously as he hugs her back.

“You know, I suspected the three of you might have something up your sleeves when everything went dark,” he remarks nonchalantly as he takes in the petrified bank workers and customers. “So, any particular reason you woke me up?”

“You’re weirdly relaxed about all this,” Senku remarks, eyebrow raised. Mr. Ogawa has always been a pretty chill guy (a good thing, considering the shenanigans his daughter and her friends get up to), but being so nonchalant about waking up in the post-apocalypse feels like a bit of a stretch. 

He shrugs. “Eh, I’m just well practiced in compartmentalizing my emotions, the fear and panic is pretty well locked up in here.” He taps his forehead. “The other tellers say it’s almost creepy how relaxed I seem in stressful situations.”

“He once stopped a bank robbery by just talking calmly at the thief until they got so unnerved they left,” Yuzuriha says.

“You know this does kind of explain why Yuzuriha didn’t even flinch when she told off those bullies back in fifth grade,” Taiju remarks.

When they tell him about the car situation, the only thing Mr. Ogawa says about it is that he’s genuinely surprised it took this long for Senku to try driving without a license.

With that handy little insight into the trio’s parents’ view of how chaotic they are, Mr. Ogawa drives them to Yuzuriha’s house and they add Ogawa Hikari to the party.

While Yuzuriha definitely got her nerves of steel from her dad, Senku’s pretty sure she got her intense work ethic from her mom. The first thing Mrs. Ogawa does when waking up other than greeting her husband and daughter is to immediately take inventory of all their supplies and suggest they raid the nearest camping equipment store without a hint of hesitation.

“We should go wake up the Okis too,” she says before anyone can say they were already planning on checking on Taiju’s house. “Mrs. Oki has that old hunting rifle that might be of use.”

When they all just stare at her, she frowns. “Well we can’t rely entirely on canned meat, you know, and without steady protein we’ll start to get weaker. Plus I’m concerned about the wild predators we’ll encounter in the north. I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not have to worry about bears who aren’t used to seeing humans around anymore.”

It’s a good point, and after loading up all of Yuzuriha’s crafting things they quickly head over to Taiju’s place to pick up his grandparents. 

Oki Kazuhiro immediately bursts into happy tears and embraces all three teenagers at once, saying he was so scared when everything went dark even if he knew Senku and Yuzuriha would take care of “our little Taiju.”

His wife Chie smacks him lightly on the shoulder and tells him off for being such a worrywart before sternly telling the teens that just because they’re saving the world doesn’t mean they’ll be off the hook for any past or future “incidents,” especially since they’ve done more breaking and entering in the last few days than they’ve ever had before.

They find a larger vehicle to carry the party of now seven people to the nearest camping store, and Senku helps Mrs. Oki repair her hunting rifle as she complains about how her license is definitely expired by now.

Mr. Oki manages to somehow Tetris all of their supplies into the new van they borrowed and can remember exactly where he put everything, which is great because Senku’s plan was more or less “throw it all in and deal with it later.” 

Then after ensuring that they have extra batteries on hand, they head north. 

It only takes a few hours to get there, but somehow Senku finds himself nodding off, both him and Yuzuriha resting their heads on Taiju’s shoulders. Before he fully falls asleep though, he hears snippets of whispered conversation from the adults.

“Looks like they’re getting sleepy, huh?”

“I can only imagine. Why do they feel the need to put so much pressure on themselves, you think? They’re just kids.”

“Just kids, you say. About the three hellions that nearly blew up their school gymnasium?”

“Now Oki-san, they did promise never to do that again.”

I remember reading older fanfictions about Helia/Trix friendships and I found their dynamic really interesting! I can’t find it anymore but there was a post about Helia befriending them in his first year (and most likely the Trix’s first year as well if I remember correctly they were seniors in season 1) as a little act of rebellion from Red Fountain.

I had this hc of Helia being friends with them and particularly close to Icy then having a fallout once he realises what they are up to. Maybe he found out or unknowingly helped them discover they were descendants of the Ancestral Witches, or alerted them about Stella’s scepter and out of guilt he quit rf and disappeared! Then he came back because he knew but he never said anything and it ended up almost causing the destruction of Magix.

I like the idea of Helia not telling anyone he knew the Trix personally then them finding out later on! The angst potentiall!! But then again I don’t think the Trix would keep quiet about it either!

AAGGHHH i've read fics like that too!! there was one a while back about like 14 year old helia meeting the trix and becoming friends with icy specifically! and then when he came back from art school, he couldn't believe they were the witches who destroyed everything. there may have been a scene with him going through the tunnels to cloud tower to confront them but i might be thinking about something else?

anyway! i love those fics :') icy/helia is such a guilty pleasure pairing of mine. he's such her type! just without the crazy murderous personality. plus i love the darcy/helia friendship dynamic as well (besties who judge together!!) and stormy/helia dynamics would be SO chaotic like she would stress him out so much. but i can also see stormy letting out her cute side around him more since he wouldn't judge her for that

This is the first time I've ever made an au version of a character of mine but my friends have a cool My hero acedamia au that I've wanted to be a part of for the longest time and because I'm just crazy obsessed with Chameleon I made an au version for that friends au. Her name's Kammy because I keep nicknaming Chameleon chammy all the time so I thought "chammy with a K? That's a cool name" and she's in a not so villian gang of villains lmao.

Since MHA's world's different I can't really make Kammy have that same gender changing ability without it being a quirk so instead it's lady Chameleon with top surgery BOOM genderfluidness expressed!! And his hairs just sorta both black and white instead of the og's shifting colours.

In this au Kammy's quirk is called Jumpstart and it's basically parkour on steriods, its some funky body momentum manipulation ability that allows her to run stupid fast and jump over buses. This sounded like a really fitting ability for a smug and chaotic thief and it's really funny imagining her just snatching something or doing something chaotic and then just,, there she goes,,, she's on the roof of a building in .5 seconds! I like to imagine when she first got this power she just friggen kept slamming into things and falling off stuff so she had to train to get good at, yknow, not running 30mph into a friggen store window.

Anyway as for her origin story, it's pretty basic ngl. She, just like the regular ol' Chameleon, got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, and because of that she was just mistakingly assumed to be a villain by the heros. She got sick of it after a while and sorta just had a "Well if they're gonna treat me like a villain, I might as well become one and grab all the perks" even though really they don't really act majorly villainous, more like a minor menace to society. Anyway they join my friends's gang and just act very much like og Chameleon in personality.

Also their scar's just on the shoulder instead because idk, I wanted to make Kammy look more like an au version and what better thing to do then have a scar be in a different place.

Iiiiiiiii love my friends. So passionately. I love ~very~ easily. And I express that love! Often! (I end every phone call with "I love you" cuz they gotta know!)

I have a classmate who was with me for 2 semesters in our final classes for our shared major. And while we always got along it wasn't until towards the end of this last semester that we started hanging out, but then we hungout a TON. All for class/capstone related activities. we both took an extension on our final paper too so we've been hanging out a ton the past week cramming to get it finished.

And yesterday we were at a coffee shop working and I had to run to meet another friend and we were saying goodbye because classmate!friend is leaving for a month-long trip to Thailand with her hubby and fam so we're not gonna see each other for a while. As i was leaving "I love you!" slipped out and, for half a second I worried it was too much, but then she BEAMED at me and said "I love you too!!" And we hugged and ohmyGOD it just 😭😭😭 I love my friends so much and this classmate and I have just clicked so well and her returning the expression along with how close we've gotten the last month just made me so happy and filled me with so much joy! 🥹❤️🥹❤️🥹❤️
