-guest on Actual Play podcast Three of Hearts (I'm a guest many many episodes in and tbh you should listen regardless because it is so good and so nice to hear three people who are very clearly friends create a world together. It feels collaborative and genuine in a way that i don't think I really have seen that often in Actual Play shows)(they are on here as @threeheartscast ). It was so fun to play my extremely time blind elven gun witch and just chatting with Jordan, Essay, and Ila.

You were a huge streamer on the platform, but it wasn't often that you were called upon to compete in real life games!

You were hooked.

And you were reeled in even further once you found out who you would be competing against!

You and Schlatt first met during the days of the Lunch Club, dark days, sure, but Ted, Charlie, himself, and yourself pulled each other up by the boot straps and created salvation!

Chuckle Sandwich was is that salvation.

And through salvation, you two had formed a strong bond. You created inside jokes for your communities, inside jokes between you and your co-hosts, and inside jokes that only the two of you would ever come to understand.

But, to say you were just friends is an understatement.

To be honest, neither of you really knew what you were.

But you both liked that!

Sure, it became a pain when trying to figure out if you could go out on a date with someone, but it was also nice because technically nothing was happening, you didn't have to hide anything from viewers.

You hunkered down in the food court to wait of the arrival of your beloved uber driver while you ate and played on your phone

You were expecting him to text you back any minute now since he never left his messages unanswered for too long (that's not entirely true, he never leaves *your* messages unanswered, ever, but he'd never tell you that, ever.)

But as 1:00pm became 1:26pm, you began to feel a little anxious

How long have you been sat here for?

Does that man want to sit here?

Should you move?

Are people staring?

Okay- just, stay seated, he'll be here soon.

Where are your headphones?

Where are your bags?!

Oh- okay, it's right there... where you left it.

And your headphones are around your neck.

WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOUR BAGS-

"Heeey, toots! 'S good to see you again." A deep, familiar voice calls out, he has your bags too!

"I got you a baggy of fruit from seven eleven!"

"Aww, you shouldn't have!" He twirls his hair around his finger.

"Gotta feed my baby girl right."

"Alright, you're done." Schlatt announces, before bending down to grab a handful of the meat just above your knees before throwing you over his shoulder and tucking your bags under his other arm.

"Jonathan! You put me down right now!"

"No."

"People are staring!" You whisper shout.

"You called me 'baby girl' 'n the first five finger-fuckin' seconds of our first face to face conversation in three months instead of kissin' me, 'm not puttin' you down."

The walk back to his car consisted of kicking your legs, lots of people staring, a surprising amount of awing, Schlatt having to readjust your clothes every two to three seconds just so you'd keep a semblance of your dignity, and a security guard even opened the door for him!

I mean- this man could have legitimately been kidnapping you, and nobody even *attempted* to help you!

But, then again, you weren't really putting up *much* of a fight.

Once you reached his car, he opened the trunk and shoved your bags in before sauntering round to the passenger's side.

After he so chivalrously opened the door for you, he plopped you down into the seat from your perch on his shoulder, making sure to hold your head so you wouldn't bang it before he placed one hand on the dash and the other on the head rest.

He leaned you back slowly, playfully, before finally accepting his kiss from you.

It was nice.

It re-awoke the butterflies in your tummy that seemingly crisped up and died whenever he wasn't around.

After the extraordinarily drawn out kiss, you embarked on the scenic drive to Schlatt's house, where you found yourself having the first 'argument' with him in the months you hadn't seen each other.

"Where're you stayin'?"

"I booked a hotel-"

"Bull-fucking-shit I'm lettin' you stay at a fuckin' hotel, hotels are good for nothin'. You sleep in my room."

"But I paid money for that hotel room?"

"Ok? I'll pay you back."

"What?"

"Anythin' in these bags ya don't want me findin'?

"Wha-"

"I'm unpackin' for you, sweetheart."

"No, wha-"

"Ya jet lagged, go sit on the couch, watch somethin', I don' care."

Schlatt then proceeded to haul your bags upstairs and into his room, where, promptly, he shouted for you.

"Toots, I thought you said there was nuthin' in here! I've seen one of these before! 'S a.. fuckin' 'rose' vibe, or some shit?!"

"Don't touch that!"

"Whaaat?! Like I haven't seen your toys before! Like I haven't *been* your toy before."

"Schlatt!"

He also found your outfit for Ludwig's video.

"Heeey! This is cute! Gonna look like a little 50s detective more than an intern, but shit, are you gonna look adorable. 'S this your perfume? Shit, that smells good..."

He absolutely douses his own clothes in it

ONTO THE MAIN EVENT! (If anyone's still reading, anyway.)

You and Schlatt arrived together at 9:44 (which ended up giving you 2 points, whereas it landed Schlatt with 1)

After being presented with your first task, keeping a trio of toddlers entertained for fifteen minutes straight, you went straight into action.

You managed to find play dough, bubble wrap, a box of legos, some cardboard boxes, and some coloring materials!

You were the first of the bunch to entertain the kids.

"Helloooo everybody! Who do we have here?"

"Elijah!" "Rooney!" "Caleb!"

"Hey guys! I'm Y/N. Can you spell that? Let's see your handwriting, huh? On the board, can you guys write your names and then my name?"

Overall, you have an absolute blast with these guys.

First, they wanted to pop as many bubbles on the bubble wrap as they could while your phone counted down a ten second timer.

You laid out a sheet of the wrap before you all stood on your own section of it and danced, bounced, and rolled on it until the alarm sounded.

Then, the kids wanted to decorate their own boxes as cars that you pushed them around in!

A chorus of giggles and squeals could be heard emanating from the conference room from all the way across the building, even your own chuckles!

After that, Rooney, Elijah and you sculpted with the play dough while Caleb built with the lego.

Rooney made a dinosaur and Elijah made a lion, but you all gave extra props to Caleb who built all of you!

You were a little disappointed when the fifteen minutes were up, you gave each kid a high five and a ruffle of their hair before you stepped out of the conference room and closed the door (but the interaction truly ended after you pulled a face at them through the window.)

(That face definitely ended up as Schlatt's home screen.)

Next up, you were burdened with having to ensure that your backward speech is coherent and understandable!

Your key phrase was "Can I hold it while you pee?"

Surprisingly, VERY HARD!!!

You managed to get 'hold it' and 'pee'

But the rest of it?

Nada.

"Do people actually wanna hold guys'... you know... when they- pee..?" Daniel asked.

"Well- surprisingly, yes!" Ludwig, oh so helpfully, replied.

You immediately turned to Schlatt

"No, you cannot hold my dick while I piss."

At this point, you were tied with Daniel in first!

For the map task, you were paired with Schlatt.

You two made a fucking powerhouse of a duo.

With his drawing skills and your knowledge that there was a map on the wall right to the left of you? You were UNSTOPPABLE.

And, with the last and final task, you immediately had to opt out.

The simultaneous, wet chewing sounds of EVERYONE in the room?

FUCK NO

You were not gonna be in that room for another *second*

But you didn't have to be!

You had already surpassed everyone else with flying colors.

Lud even gave you extra points for opting out because he needs a 'well-behaved employee who won't blow bubbles and stick gum to the underside of the desks.'

Schlatt did offer you some of his gum though, and when you stuck your hand out for, i don't know, a pristine, unchewed piece still wrapped in it's packaging, you got the complete opposite!

Just a glob of fluorescent pink, wet and chewed gum in the pit of your hand.

But, that's also how you found yourself here, in Schlatt's car after a long day, waiting in a drive thru.

"Today was great! You were real great with those kids, toots."

"Yeah?"

"Hell yeah!"

I answered one person's question about the difference between the ascendant, chiron and north node, i was incredibly happy to answer bc i love helping people, especially with "easier" questions like that- (i use quotes to be respectful bc i am of the belief that no question is a stupid question)

i will give the mods one thing, they DID have a rule about self promotion even if the thing you're promoting is free- that one was my bad (i offered to look at someone's chart) and i will (and did) own up to it.

you’d do just about anything for handong, it was almost like she was the oxygen that you enjoyed breathing. you loved her and she meant the world to you, but did she think the same towards you? not quite and you didn’t think she’d ever think the same about you.

handong was a wild card. she would act very friendly one second, flirty the next, then want nothing to do with you afterwards. it was a never ending cycle of mixed emotions, misunderstandings, and confusions. it had left you conflicted and stumped on what to do, but did you care enough to distance yourself to get your feelings for her situated? no, of course not. you were well convinced that you were in love with her and that your feelings for her would never change. you were completely infatuated with her.

“hey, wanna go out for dinner?” handong had asked, sticking her head into your room with a smile on her face. you looked up from your laptop, mirroring her smile.

“sure, who’s going with?” you asked, usually she brought her members along to treat them after a tough promotion period, but she shook her head at your words.

“no one, it’ll just be me and you, now pick out something nice to wear for tonight!” she excitedly exclaimed, turning around and running to her room while letting out little giggles. as soon as you heard her door shut, you let out a breath that you didn’t know you were holding. sure, you were excited to spend a nice dinner with handong, but was it actually going to be nice? were you falling into another one of her mixed emotion traps? were you going to embarrass yourself? all these questions filling your head made it hard to breathe, it felt like you were drawing in an ocean filled with doubt, fear, and embarrassment. if this is how you feel after handong asked you if you wanted to have dinner then maybe it was time you reconsidered your feelings for her.

you put on your best clothes, looking at yourself in the mirror, flattening the sides of your outfit down by running your hands down it. you fixed up your hair a bit before turning around to see handong leaning against your door frame. she was wearing the most beautiful, perfectly fitting velvet dress. you stared in awe for a couple moments, a chuckle erupting from handong who started to step closer to you. 

“you look beautiful.” you breathlessly said. handong chuckled once more.

“you don’t look too bad yourself, ready?” she asked, receiving a nod from you before grabbing your hand and leading you out of the building. 

you two had arrived at a restaurant which looked high end, you were nervous that you weren’t going to be able to afford anything, nervously gulping and feeling your hands start to get sweaty. handong started to walk towards the front doors, looking back to notice you were following her. she softly smiled, walking back to you to grab your hand and lead you inside.

“sorry.” you whispered, looking down at handong’s hand which was slightly intertwined with your sweaty hand.

“for what?’ she whispered back, leading you two to an empty, candlelit table.

“you know…the sweat, i’m just nervous, this place looks so high end.” you said while looking around. handong guided you to your seat, helping you sit down as you continued to observe the place.

“don’t worry about it then, i’ll pay for everything.” she said, opening the menu that was quickly handed out by a waiter.

“no, i can’t let you do that, i’ll look for something cheap.” you stumbled over your words as you opened the menu to see anything but cheap. why had she brought you here of all places? you would have been fine with a simple hangout at a diner, talking over milkshakes and fries. 

the waiter came back to take your orders, handong had ordered a drink that sounded all sorts of fancy and a meal that sounded like it came directly from france while you had just gone with a simple glass of water. the waiter stared at you as if you were an alien, as if ordering water there wasn’t normal, but they obliged and took your menus. handong stared at you, a smile creeping up on her face as she thought about your simple order.

“really? just water?” she laughed quietly.

“of course just water, a bowl of soup was almost 20 bucks!” you whisper yelled, putting your face into your hands. “why did i agree to go out with you?” you groan quietly, your hands muffling your complaints. handong found it harder to contain her laughter, you didn’t understand how this was so funny to her.

“maybe if you think of this like a date then it’ll make things better, who knows, maybe i’ll even give you a treat for behaving afterwards.” her tone turned sultry, you knew she was messing with you, she considered you a friend and you were well aware of that. you couldn’t put yourself through this, not again.

“don’t say that, you know you wouldn’t want to consider this a date.” you lifted your head up from your hands, now making eye contact with the woman in front of you who only raised an eyebrow.

“what makes you say that?” she questioned. 

“maybe the fact that you always laugh off any flirts, making fun of me for getting flustered then proceeding to mess with me knowing fully well that i love you.” you scoffed, you knew this dinner night with her was a mistake, but you were like a puppy when it came to her, you’d do anything to be around her.

“i do that with everyone, you’re nothing special. we’re friends and we’ll always stay friends, nothing more.” handong said, turning to thank the waiter for the drinks and food, taking a sip of her beverage before looking back at you. “whatever feelings you have for me, i suggest you stop them, you’re my friend and you always will be.”

you grit your teeth, not knowing how much more you could take of this night.

“fine.” was all you said, taking some money out of your pocket, slamming it on the table before getting up out of your chair. “thanks for tonight, i guess.” you spoke through gritted teeth as you left the restaurant, heading back home on foot, not caring about the weather or how late it was. if handong wanted you to lose feelings for her then so be it, that shouldn’t be hard when its always been unrequited love. 

it was slightly awkward to wake up the next morning to see handong on the couch after what happened last night, but you’d have to get used to it. you made your way to the kitchen for breakfast, seeing one of your closest friends, sua, making pancakes for everyone.

“good morning.” you said, standing behind sua and wrapping your arms around her, watching as she poured pancake batter into the sizzling pan.

“well good morning to you too, feeling clingy this morning or something?” sua asked, flipping a pancake and pressing down on it.

“maybe a little bit, after you're done with the pancakes then can we go into your room and watch a movie? please?” you pleaded moving around so your face was in her peripheral vision. she smiled and nodded, attempting to finish up the pancakes faster as you started making your way towards her room.

handong overheard everything, it hurt to hear. is this how you felt all along? who knows. she didn’t care, you were still friends in her book and nothing would change that, she could never think of a friend in a romantical way, that would be a complete violation of a friendship. she did have to admit that watching sua happily run towards her bedroom hurt though. sua had always liked clinging on to everyone, but she seemed to enjoy clinging on to you the most. 

“does sua like them?” handong asked herself out loud, but she immediately shook her head. that couldn’t be the case, handong was so sure that sua saw you the same way she had seen you all these years. there wasn’t any way that sua could like you or anything of the sorts, it was just platonic cuddling and movie watching. handong had convinced herself that was the case.

she was far from wrong though. a couple weeks had passed since then and sua made it very aware to everyone that you two were dating, the hickies had only solidified everything. handong couldn’t describe what exactly she was feeling in that moment, something about seeing you so happy with sua had made her feel off. she felt a pang in her chest which was something she had never felt before. she didn't know why she was starting to feel this way towards you, she was adamant about you being a friend and nothing but a friend, but friends shouldn’t be jealous over the other being in a happy relationship.

was this how you felt when she had turned you down back then? did you hurt the way she did as she watched you happily kiss sua in front of everyone? why did it hurt to see you so happy? handong wanted to be happy for you, but she just couldn't.

I have not finished the episode yet but I've just gotten to the Fukufuku backstory (specifically the part where they just met and its night and they're lying on the floor together) and, these two are fucking dark timeline Renga from sk8! 'The way of the sword is enjoyable!' and 'I'm going to master the sword alongside you' vs 'skating is fun!' and 'I want to skate with you infinitely' I swear Fukuchi even did the same hand movement that Reki did at some point. Energetic sunshine (at least at the moment) x calm and collected. I am getting such strong Renga vibes from that scene and it's driving me insane.

OK I JUST WATCHED TWO (2) SECONDS FURTHER AND NOW WE'RE IN A FUCKING SHOJO ANIME! BONES LOVES OLD MAN YAOI SO MUCH! THIS IS SO GAY! WHY ARE THERE SO MANY CHERRY BLOSSOMS!!? Dazai and Sigma are so silly, I love them, Dazai stop flirting for two fucking seconds challenge. Also, it's fun to hear that Dazai is screwing around with Sigma while thinking of Kunikida! Truly every ship is being fed this season! Except sskk, but we did get Aku in Atsushi's hallucinations doing a thing so that's kinda a win for the gays!

I must say, I don't really have much to say on the Meursault section. It was good! The animation was great as it usually is for the Meursault sections, Sigma was so pretty I love him and! Dazai did the thing where he played with Sigma's hair! Woo! Fyodor was his usual level of kinda ugly in anime form, Dazai is showing emotions! more of the sillies, Dazai fucking stood on Sigma, which is delightful, aaaaaaand it's started to flood! Fuck!

Anyways, back to the very start of this episode before I was overcome by the homosexual-ness of Fukufuku, Aya Bram Kunikida and Tanizaki got yoinked! Fuck! I still have a theory that Tanizaki could be doing an illusion and I will make a post about it one day. And also, please excuse me for saying this because while I am still upset about Ranpo being hurt... watching Fukuchi pick him up by the scruff of his neck like a cat was kinda hilarious. Also, Teruko I love you. You're the only hunting dog that heard about Fukuchi's real identity and didn't immediately die. Girlboss fr. Also also, where are Lucy Kyouka and Yosano :D? And to once again revisit the old gays, Holy Shit that was so gay. Nobody told me that the Fukufuku backstory was a Sports Anime tm that turned into a war drama in the second season! ugh i haven’t had much free time lately but i still cant stop thinking about this companion chronicle set that’s supposed to finally be coming out this month, and it’s not like i’ve got anywhere else to rant about it so lemme do that here real quick & hopefully clear out some brain space -

obviously i wanna listen to it as soon as that’s a possibility - i “held off” on pre-ordering it for “a long time” but even that was like. well over a year ago now (which is its own very big yikes, especially since i hardly ever do that) - and i really like the range & its format in general and it’s dwindled down so much now.... but at the same time - i really like the range & it’s dwindled down so much now, and i’ve been waiting for it for so long already - i definitely dont wanna just binge it all at once, and again, haven’t had much free time lately anyway - so i guess im hoping it doesnt come out too soon & maybe holds off toward the end of the month when i’ve got a better shot at having time to appreciate it? is that hoping for too much from a boxset that’s been torturing me with its release date for actual literal years now?

& maybe it’s just bc i’ve been paying more attention than usual, but i feel like bf just rapidfire released a bunch of pretty highly anticipated stuff in the last, like, week and a half (apologies if my perception of time is a little wonky rn i could be wrong w that) and tbh i was relieved every time i saw it was stranded and unbound and the new first doctor range.... and now the cc’s are the only doctor who range left with a release slated for april, yet we’re only halfway thru the month - but they’ve also got two torchwoods, a blakes 7, and a thunderbirds which could very well be next up given the gerry anderson promotion - so maybe they will hold off for another week or so, just to spread out the dw ones? not that that’s something they’ve been worried about this month so far of course... and then another part of my brain is like, they seem to like dates over there even if they don’t like announcing them, and there’s a jamie backstory(?) episode on the set.... it’s not impossible they’d put it out tomorrow, the in-universe anniversary of the character’s introduction...but then again again it’s the day before sea devils & they might not wanna put out anything at all too close to that, but then again again again im assuming they dont view sea devils & 2nd dr companion chronicles vol 3 as being aimed at the exact same audience (even tho i personally think they should, whatwith all the queer ppl in this fandom who enjoy letting this show ruin our lives) so maybe they could? judging by the, well, everything about this boxset, i feel like it’s safe to say it isn’t expected to be a tremendous draw, so maybe they’d see no harm in its release so completely paling in comparison to the tv special?

also! i know you’ve mentioned quite a few times before in posts/fics about how party and kobra really only met right before they left the city? and i’m not entirely sure if i’ve just missed it but i would LOVE for elaboration specifically on that. i just!! am super interested to know about them and their lives in the city...and how everything shakes out regarding that 👀

!!!! okay thats def one of the more obscure bits of my canon? bc in universe party and kobra dont rlly like talking about it and on a meta level city life isnt rlly something i wanna devote too much energy to writing but i HAVE thought abt it!

i covered it a little bit in this fic but some details have shifted a bit just irt kobras job/timeline bc its over (i think?) a year old and its short so. not super elaborate

so when i say that they hadnt really met before leaving the city its like. they knew each other and lived with each other but they weren't really themselves. party bc of like. reeducation and kobra bc he was really fucked up with a combination of dysphoria and city drugs both prescribed and not (which i *think* ive mentioned arent a given in the city? most people dont get medicated the same way kobra did and not all the city meds are bad)

i will say that they were pretty close before party got reeducated. as close as u can be when ur thirteen and eight at least. but ofc he got taken and came back Completely different and kobra was a smart kid and kinda realized that directly confronting him abt the change would end really badly for both of them. party was rlly susceptible to the reeducation and its not their fault in any way but they definitely would have reported kobra if he'd tried to make a move.

so then once kobra snapped and cut his hair and party snapped out of the reeducation (combination of time since getting bleached and like. still being a caring and loving person under it all and knowing that he should care abt kobra) they escaped obviously and had to do a little crash course in 'how to be siblings' bc until then they were more just. people that lived in the same house and had nothing in common to talk about so they jsut didnt. i hope that makes sense? they knew each other but they didnt Really Know each other

as for what life in the city looked like for them!

i feel like its kinda important to know that their parents were low-level workers so they grew up in the slums on the edge of the city. not the worst part of the city (the lobby) but not downtown or even a suburban area.

party (post reeducation) became a total model student and ended up in a mid/high-level admin position in hq as soon as he graduated, set to get a promotion when he turned 20 and was in the process of trying to move out to a place of his own actually. kept getting their applications rejected bc they didnt have an "approved reason" to not live w their parents (no long-term partner and not a high enough level to qualify for one of the downtown studios). wasn't necessarily getting frustrated with the company but was getting frustrated with not being able to "start his own life" in his own apartment yknow? also a bit of a superiority complex/classism thing bc of having a higher-level job than their parents, wanting to live in a nicer part of the city like the rest of their colleagues. he had a Few friends, mostly from work, but it was nothing like the crew and friends hed had pre-reeducation bc. you know. obviously. it was just a little group of polite, well trained late-teens bli drones who got up to just the right amounts of bli-approved trouble (android girls and mood synthesizers but only on saturdays type deal). um. probably the least bli-approved thing they did was give spare carbons to broken-down droids in street corners and pretend to listen to the ones preaching the graffiti bible. This is all actually a huge reason Why party is so wanted by bli, like apart from the obvious of being a killjoy and fucking up a lot of shit for the company, he was also So close to being a perfect citizen that rebelling and escaping is a real lemon-juice-in-the-papercut for bli

kobra, on the other hand, was about one and a half Minor infractions away from getting reeducated himself. bli mostly saves reeducation and bleaching for people with confirmed rebellious biases or actions, people they dont think would be trusted enough to take their pills basically. theyd get fed up after enough violations though. kobra was on watch as a nuisance, but not a rebel, so he got away with attempts at medication and therapy that were... kinda effective? but he was Really pushing it especially once he got his job in the lobby and started running with lobby kids. really just imagine an absolute menace shithead of a fourteen year old breaking every law he could get his well-manicured but grubby little hands on. i think at some point ive mentioned that half the reason kobra was so good with tech and wiring was bc he picked it up from fucking with scarecrow cars and reprogramming shit about them? yeah. im not gonna say kobra's friends were like. a bad crowd. they were just chafing against city culture in a very specific way. lots of sex, violence, vandalism, underage mood synthesizer use (and by underage i mean even below the technically-underage-but-bli-looks-the-other-way-bc-they-know-people-need-to-feel-rebellious-sometimes age that like. party and his friends started trying them at). this is when he learned how to knife fight too which definitely saved both his and party's life the first night in the zones. on top of this all is the whole trans thing which isnt something thats necessarily frowned upon in the city, but when kobra finally realized what was up he went about it in a non-city-approved way (hacking his hair off with a set of nail clippers rather than like. submitting a transition application) and that absolutely would have been the last straw for him for the city if party had reported him rather than stuffed him in their car and left.

i dont know how to tldr this one but like. they both led really different lives in the city, kobra being rebellious and breaking laws but not in a killjoy way and party being So close to being a perfect citizen as a result of getting reeducated when he was thirteen, so they weren't honest with each other until party's bleaching broke and they left the city and THATS why i say they hadnt really met until they escaped.

K: Right, lets move onto the main news...I'd like to get deeper into the concept of 'The Freedom of Expression'.

J: Right, so Haruna Fuuka has filed a lawsuit againts those who engage in 'internet slander'.

A tweet stated 'Both her parents created a failure'.

On Jan 14th, 18 year old Haruna and her mother filed a lawsuit at Yokohama district court demanding ￥2,654,000 in damages from a person engaged in spreading falsehoods which have damaged her dignity.

On the acknowledgement that these tweets went beyond what was deemed acceptable by society at large, on Nov 1st the internet provider was ordered to make public the persons name and address etc.

Haruna has been tweeting since the age of 9, giving her opinion at random about society's problems, and creating a stir. She now has over 200,000 followers and is fighting 10 years of slander. Kaoru, what do you think about this?

K: Well..I mean, naturally, you'd feel like that..

J: Hmm, but I don't know the details but..the name of the defendant has been withheld...well, its a common problem that as a person speaking in the public eye, you are going to get criticism along with praise...like a 'fame tax'.  That said, how far do you go before honour is damaged? On SNS, you are of course free to express yourself, you can write what you want, but the issue is what constitutes damage to honour. This might be a very difficult area in which to draw a legal line, but on the other hand, if you don't draw a legal line, things may escalate out of control...Kaoru, what do you think?

K: Well for example, if banter between friends is written down...controlling that...Its best not to look at whats written in the first place.

J: Ah, the person in question right? By the way Kaoru, its a strange question, but do you search for yourself online?

K: No, not really. I hear things, the office staff will tell me.

J: Oh, if anything is being said?

T: In the world of fame its quite true, that even if 98 or 99 opinions out of 100 are good, the one negative thing will stand out.

K: Well, yes, its the bad things that..

J: On the other hand, from the writers'  perspective at Tokyo Sports, how far are you willing to slander someone? You could write an article in a good or bad way..

T: Of course balance is important, but of course, if the courts want to complain to us, they can call us, and start an exchange, but in the case of slanders on the internet, its like, who do you complain to? So, if you ask celebrities, they will say Tokyo Sports slander is better than anonymous online slander because at least they can complain to our face.

J: Mm, absolutely. Just how far do we protect these tweets, these freedoms of expression? Its difficult.

K: Are these really 'expressions'?

J: Well, esentially, yes. When you say 'tweets' you think of nonsense, but really its media expressing things, or artists expressing things..

K: Yes, yes, you can get a sense of individual expression.

J: And this especially has the power to influence...

K: Yes, and people get swept up in it.

J: I think this is universal, but at the moment I think Japan is bit like a geyser, people will rush towards any incident and some will start complaining, I mean, I think its important to say what you feel, but its complaining without trying to solve anything, only satisfying yourself.

K: Thats it

J: Its sounds strange to say, but it ends like masturbation. If it turns into something towards a soloution its ok, but just creating thoughtless slander to satisfy yourself is questionable.

K: So its often said, if you continue the conversation only looking at the bad things, it can't be helped. There are also good people out there..you know, put more importance on those people. How to put it...its like we said before, if you focus too much on that one out of a hundred, its kind of rude to the other 99.

J: I see. Still this person has over 200,000 followers and its said she has been fighting slander for ten years.

T: She's always been a bit of a talking point online. I'll just search for her.

J: I also have Instagram, I do stuff to do with societal problems on The Dave Fromm show's youtube channel, and whenever I upload about it (on IG), my followers decrease!  *everyone laughs* Outrageously decrease! Im serious, despite getting so far, that channel updates every week, and with every update my followers decrease. Maybe people hate reading about societal problems..*to Tasai* What did you find?

T: So for example there was that thing recently about regulating gamers to 60mins per session, she had quite a few things to say about that, playing vs learning etc.

J: I see..Young people do complain, well you can't really tell here, but on the other hand, young people these days, i know they would hate us old guys talking about this, but young people apparently have three main taboos. The first is talking about sex, they dont follow this, the second is politics, they don't follow this either, and the other one is, they don't like being made to talk about the kind of things that they really need to be talking about...there seems to be this kind of trend. So i think in this way...theres a chance Haruna is getting right to the point of this. But certainly, applying the law in a way that recognises infringement/damage to honour by way of personal utterances has the potential to lead to restrictions on the freedom of expression. Its a difficult play off, isnt it?

T: Yes, it really is

J: Obviously, when it comes to race, or racial discrimination, there has come to be rules concerning hate speech and so on, but how far can you regulate one-to-one slandering, or..how far can you protect the person being attacked? Should the country or the judiciary decide this? Its difficult.

K: Kami, what do you think? Are you there?

Kami: Well, I hear slanders towards me all the time *everyone laughs* Like, god tells lies, god is useless, or even that there is no such thing as god!

J: Ahh, i see. They deny you!

Kami: Yes, thats it. If I care about those things, I lose!

J: Do you search for yourself online?

Kami: I do. *everyone laughs* ..and whenever I do its only ever those things that come up.

J: Ah of course...Kami, you have an exceptionally good handle on social media  dont you?

Hi, my names Angel and Ima write two bios for you!

Big Age:

My big age is 19, I like the colors pastel pink and yellow. My favorite food is sushi or alfredo sauce. I work a full time at a hotel and might be promoted to manager soon! Scary! My favorite things to do are draw on my ipad, I'm not the best but I dont think I'm awful. I'll put some examples below. I'm fairly social, though I'm usually quiet and I love musicals and anime. I'll jam out to Beatle juice with you any day!

Small Age:

My little age ranges from 3-7, when I'm on the younger side I tend to use short sentences and be really whiney, when I'm on the older side of that I still want pacis and bottles, it's very rare I'm older than 5. My favorite color never changes, and my favorite food when I'm little is soup! I'm almost always in little space when I'm not working, and sometimes even when I'm working I am. I love my little pony, magical girl anime, and watching doll repaint videos, oh and coloring! I also get super hyper.

I do have a caregiver, I call him Bunbun, Sir, or master. My favorite nicknames are Angel, Princess, and kitty. Whenever he calls me them I always immediately go to little space. I dont have a bed time because he and I are long distance, but he buys me soup when I'm sad, and I had a bad week so today in the mail a stuffed bunny should appear! His name is P.J. for Prince J******, I cant say Bunbuns name on the internet. But I love my Bun very much!

Random scattered thoughts about D3 under the cut

*The fact that everyone has basically abandoned Audrey though......where goodness doesn't get better? More like 'we'll abandon you once your dumped by our king and also rub it in your face that you couldn't hold a prince like your mother could'- also Audrey knows about the love spell and WHY Mal did it, but if that's the, case then everyone knows and still doesn't care that Mal did that- like the one person with brain cells is Audrey and shes the villain of this movie.

*Queen of Mean is a bop though- its one of the only valid songs in this movie, but also with the evil laughter almost that could be heard BEFORE Audrey puts on the crown, it makes me wonder if they planned to have Audrey be possessed after all.

*One Kiss is literally just gay panic the song, no I don't take arguments its literally Evie in gay panic mode and its Disney having to do that one heterosexual song to remind us that no, only heterosexual couples are valid in this universe- also despite dating for three years, Evie struggles to tell Doug she loves him and even doesn't believe her true loves kiss wont work???? WOW- can we say, clearly goals to have a relationship where bae stalks you originally and you struggle to tell him you love him after three years of dating and after sharing a cottage with him?

*Night Falls is a cool song, but I love how as soon as Uma tries to lead, Mal gets bitchy and acts like she can lead a sword fight better then a pirate captain could- like, mal chill, your not queen yet.

*Mal as Hades daughter.......lemme just uh, stress that's the worst twist in history, literally over-powers Mal once more with now god blood- and Do What You Gotta Do is literally daddy issues the song, and despite having the same parenting as Maleficent with how he neglected Mal basically, Hades is somehow the better parent?? HOW?! Also its never showed how Mal learnt this information.....did Disney forget to write that in or- and of course, Mal must be the only VK of the core four with a good parent- cause of course, Mal must have everything as always.

*Audrey singing Happy Birthday while cursing the party and singing 'dear jane' while smiling evilly......can we just uh say, she at least got down with the aesthetic of being a villain?

*Oh yeah, speaking of villains- despite being promoted as villains, Hades does nothing basically besides drain Mal of her magic and all 'evil' scenes from trailer is just him doing random shit or good shit, while Uma is more of a anti-hero while Celia is kinda just there doing scamming and such- Audrey was the only accurate villain to promotion and even then she only got one trailer.

*My Once Upon A Time is literally Pity Me the song and Mal even sings at the end about reaching greatness and such- Jay, Evie, Carlos and Ben got stonned for this shit.

*Also yes, they literally stonned Ben, Carlos, Jay and Evie cause only Mal can take part in final fight.

*ALSO- MAL LIED- like, girl literally lied to her friends about the isle barrier and didn't tell them she was going to seal it up, and when confronted about it, she acts like she had no choice when she MADE the decision on her own and then after friends get stonned, she goes into pity song mode and doesn't suffer much consequences for the lie afterwards.

*Audrey saying to Mal though about the love spell and how its a touching story for the grandkids.......grandkids in the future felt that burn.

*Mal is cursed into a old hag and Ben into a beast......except Mals curse wears off under the barrier while Bens is soon enough fixed by Jane blasting enchanted lake at him- just......cant have true love fix curses like they do in the movies, nah, that means our couple being true love.

*Audrey nearly fucking dies- thanks plot for nearly killing the WOC princess.

*"Mal came through"- yeah, after planning to seal up the barrier and abandon every kid on the isle basically- but its okay they didn't know so its okay, TIME TO CELEBRATE MAL AGAIN-

*Lady Tremaine's character is fucking weird- in descendants 2 they say shes not a good grandma, but here she is?! Can Disney make up their mind on how the characters are written?!

*Celia and her relationship with her father though is precious, y'all can fight me on it.

*Mal literally saying she has to be queen of the isle as well- one, excuse you that's Uma's title and two, the isle IS apart of Auradon and is a PRISON, then again, descendants 2 forgot this detail when trying to act like being from a place where VKs are abused by their parents is something you cant ignore so why am I not surprised Descendants 3 is continuing that trend.

*Mal is drained of her magic but this isn't even explored cause she gets it back when Hades gives her the ember- so guess we cant even see Mal be forced to fight a battle without magic.

*Also Hades gives Mal the ember at the end for good- BUT WHAT WILL SHE DO WITH IT?! Its probably gonna go in the museum lol- so he basically lost his weapon as well.

*The Smee twins are also precious, and the fact that Smee cares about them is adorable- plus Smee is kinda accurate in design so.

*Jay being a big brother to all....precious- but also hes clearly gay for Gil sorry don't make the rules.

*Carlos and Jane must be protected from the plot.

*Evie's plot is good as well, but her whole 'struggling to say I love you to doug' is still bullshit plot.

*Doug is as boring as ever- next.

*Uma is a queen as always- her boys were so happy to see her again and she looked so happy to see them as well, let alone seeing the sun finally when the barrier fell at the end.

*Which brings me to uh, the ending.....THEY TORE DOWN THE BARRIER- like, the entire Isle is free now, not just the VKs but also villains- VILLAINS WHO IN FIRST MOVIE WANTED REVENGE- villains who will likely hurt their kids in Auradon still and villains who will likely not want to play peaceful and happy families- I thought Mal knew how villains worked, but she thinks villains will wanna play good guys? What happened to 'your parents cant reach you here' in film 1? NOW THEY CAN- Jasmine already fucking calling bullshit if Jafar thinks he can roam free.

*Hades at the end.......uggghhhh- Mal as his kid still makes no sense and never will and we get it, protective dad joke- WE GET IT- god, those jokes tire me sometimes.

*Disney really better not be acting like they deserve an award for that Hades and Mal twist- everyone saw it coming, you gave it away with Mal's hair and the teaser trailer- which is also never explained in D3 so lol.

*Disney: *doesn't have Lonnie being mentioned at all* Lonnie: "Am I a joke to you?"

*Chads weak as always- again, next.

*Audrey does get a apology finally but um, it took THREE YEARS to do so! Y'all asked for her revenge! Like, I love Ben but who the fuck says to a pissed off person that's about to curse you and your trying to talk them out of it, "I'll forgive you" like- DUDE NO-

*VK Day is still bullshit and that's just facts- also I love how they like I wish we could take you all- WHY. CANT. YOU?! You have power to take them all of it! But you DONT! In fact, Mal later decides to seal up the barrier at one point meaning she had to abandon the VKs there and even prevent Celia from seeing her dad again! So guess she forgot the VKs and was like 'yeah seal that fucker up cause Hades stole my magic'.

*Mal needing cheering in final fight......yayyy- I didn't need anymore reminders this was a Mal movie.

*Remember when HSM3 at least felt connected to the prior movies? D3 doesn't even FEEL connected- your expected to read books that may not stand a chance at getting mentioned- also had a entire different thing with Mal's dad but Disney erased that despite connecting the books each time they said to read a book before seeing the film- and in D3, a lot of shit just feels separate to the previous two- let alone the major time skip making it harder to connect- with Young Justice, while timeskips happen you still get hints at what happened inbetween those timeskips- but with D3? None is mentioned- so your left with this as the last movie and yeah, its just messy really.

*Well at least Huma won- we got one good ship in this movie at least- too bad its surrounded by a mess.

*Thank fuck there's no more descendants movies after this- sure, its sad and descendants still has a place with me- well with the aspects I like/the characters I like- but at the same time, a fourth descendants would be disrespectful to Cameron Boyce, the only Carlos really and of course, considering how messy D3 was and how Mal centred it became, a fourth movie really is not in the future- its sad I know, but at the same time, at least descendants can live on in fandom.

I temporarily deactivated it, but dont worry I'll be back soon enough :) One of my struggles when teaching last year was that I still found my online work more mentally stimulating and it really distracted me. We were allowed to be on our phones randomly and spastically as long as it obviously didnt take away from our work, and my boss knew how my online presence was part of the business side of things for me. It became a problem and a distraction, obviously. Social media is super stimulating for the adhd brain. About a month ago, when I first met with my boss about coming back to the school, I realized with all my heart, that those kiddos, those wonderful and amazing human beings, were so much more important to me than online shit. During the summer I was going to delete it all, but I kept feeling guilty that if I wasnt active and teaching people about better ball python care, we are going to be stuck in the stone age of reptile care which is unacceptable. But over the last couple years, I recognized there are more and more people advocating for better care for this species, and I no longer feel like the only person striving to share accurate and updated information. Guilt was a huge thing for me the last few years. If I disappear, then there will be no one to advocate. If I disappear everyone who asks husbandry questions will just be told to stick the animal in a tiny box because aquariums are evil and theres no way to keep them correctly. If I disappear then people who need help wont get adequate help. But now that's not true. Theres plenty of folks who are getting out there and insisting we need to have better care for these critters, and promoting more than minimum care. Being able to recognize that definitely helped me to step back. And stepping back is very important for me. It's my first week back at the school and my heart feels whole. Without social media I havent felt the impulsive monkey on my back screaming to fill my adhd brain with quick paced good things. I havent wanted to pick up my phone once while I'm in the building teaching. It has grounded me and made me more present, alert, and aware of the students. Plus I'm a senior staff now that our staff composition has changed and it's very important for me to step into the mentor role for the new teachers too. This might sound weird to most people but our program is unique and very intense. It takes specific people to teach there and you have to learn the way. Anyhow, these kids are my life and I kinda wanna forget social media forever to better serve them.
