As someone else who works in an English department: another reason people shouldn’t use GenAI to write their papers is it denies you the practice and the chance to develop your own writing skills.

(Like, this is implicit in OP’s post to be clear, I just wanted to state this directly.)

Listen. Humanities classes but especially English have been devalued for decades now due to budgets being slashed by state legislatures and the economy causing undue pressure on students to find a major that they think will have a direct career path and thus an immediate return on investment. I get that. I’ve talked to multiple students in my time where they tell me “oh I would love to be an English major but my folks tell me there’s no money in that” (and as someone who is applying to be an English professor, like. They’re not wrong, to a degree, at least on the education side.)

But you need to know how to communicate - how to write - no matter what field you go into. You need to know what works well and what doesn’t, how to best explain yourself and the information you’re working with so you can get people who don’t know your subject as well as you up to speed as quickly as possible. This is how people have collaborated across disciplines and it will continue to be. It’s a key skill that you can’t just hand off to an animatronic parrot, because sure, that thing can know what certain kinds of papers and essays look like, but it doesn’t actually discern meaning. It’s just playing madlibs.

Also, as I like to stress in my own classes - writing is a human thing. It’s one way we talk to one another, but it’s also one of the ways that historically sticks around the longest. It’s how we can still know what many people who came before us were thinking and feeling during the events they lived through, and it will probably be how the people who come after us know how we were doing during *gestures widely* All This.

To cut yourself off from that tradition by refusing to develop the skills to read and write deeply is to cut yourself off from such a huge part of history, from people just like you who lived all throughout the previous eras. It’s like turning your back on your entire family tree.

“Damn, it’s not that serious, I just don’t want to write my English paper” - okay, but when will you decide it is serious enough to warrant your involvement?

Sure, writing can feel like a chore! I’m not saying it doesn’t! I’m the first person to admit that!

But if you don’t sit down and practice, or at least make your best effort you can give at the time, it’s never going to not feel like a chore because you don’t develop that skillset.

English is one of those subjects where you get from it as much as you put in. Sure, you can use GenAI, use cliffsnotes or wikipedia, and half-ass your way through the whole semester because you somehow think the work is beneath you, or not as important as your other subjects.

But what would happen if you actually sat down and did the work? What if you read? What if you wrote? What could you gain, coming out on the other side with experience and understanding of something you’d never read or written before?

I have had plenty of students who are working their way through school and could still find the time to write their papers themselves, or read/watch the books/films I assigned them, so I know it’s not that. Likewise with students who might have had disabilities or other other things that make reading and writing difficult.

It’s about deciding the work isn’t beneath you, and that this discipline is worth engaging in.

An important message to college students: Why you shouldn't use ChatGPT or other "AI" to write papers.

Here's the thing: Unlike plagiarism, where I can always find the exact source a student used, it's difficult to impossible to prove that a student used ChatGPT to write their paper. Which means I have to grade it as though the student wrote it.

So if your professor can't prove it, why shouldn't you use it?

Well, first off, it doesn't write good papers. Grading them as if the student did write it themself, so far I've given GPT-enhanced papers two Ds and an F.

If you're unlucky enough to get a professor like me, they've designed their assignments to be hard to plagiarize, which means they'll also be hard to get "AI" to write well. To get a good paper out of ChatGPT for my class, you'd have to write a prompt that's so long, with so many specifics, that you might as well just write the paper yourself.

ChatGPT absolutely loves to make broad, vague statements about, for example, what topics a book covers. Sadly for my students, I ask for specific examples from the book, and it's not so good at that. Nor is it good at explaining exactly why that example is connected to a concept from class. To get a good paper out of it, you'd have to have already identified the concepts you want to discuss and the relevant examples, and quite honestly if you can do that it'll be easier to write your own paper than to coax ChatGPT to write a decent paper.

The second reason you shouldn't do it?

IT WILL PUT YOUR PROFESSOR IN A REALLY FUCKING BAD MOOD. WHEN I'M IN A BAD MOOD I AM NOT GOING TO BE GENEROUS WITH MY GRADING.

I can't prove it's written by ChatGPT, but I can tell. It does not write like a college freshman. It writes like a professional copywriter churning out articles for a content farm. And much like a large language model, the more papers written by it I see, the better I get at identifying it, because it turns out there are certain phrases it really, really likes using.

Once I think you're using ChatGPT I will be extremely annoyed while I grade your paper. I will grade it as if you wrote it, but I will not grade it generously. I will not give you the benefit of the doubt if I'm not sure whether you understood a concept or not. I will not squint and try to understand how you thought two things are connected that I do not think are connected.

Moreover, I will continue to not feel generous when calculating your final grade for the class. Usually, if someone has been coming to class regularly all semester, turned things in on time, etc, then I might be willing to give them a tiny bit of help - round a 79.3% up to a B-, say. If you get a 79.3%, you will get your C+ and you'd better be thankful for it, because if you try to complain or claim you weren't using AI, I'll be letting the college's academic disciplinary committee decide what grade you should get.

Eventually my school will probably write actual guidelines for me to follow when I suspect use of AI, but for now, it's the wild west and it is in your best interest to avoid a showdown with me.

Hi, I'm just struggling to understand your pov: from what I've gleaned of your blog, and people on social media who stand with Israel and also want safety for Palestinians (@rootsmetals on ig specifically), you guys don't believe any peace is possible with Hamas in power (which I can get behind, Hamas doesn't seem to be acting out of care for Palestinians). Hamas breaks ceasefire deals and refuses to release hostages, I get that. At the same time, Israel is holding so many Palestinians as hostages and in prisons. Israel has the backing of the US, and there are videos of their drone strikes against Palestinian kids playing football. All the terrible stuff. What do you think should be done with that? The atrocities and terrorism Israelis are going through is terrible and upsetting. At the same time, I feel like Israel has the upper hand here, and I worry a two-state solution (or whatever solution) won't treat Palestinians like equals (like, I'm worried anti-palestinian racism will systematized). I don't know what I'm trying to ask. Would asking, "Do you condemn the IDF," be antisemitic? I guess I'm just frustrated that from what yall are saying, the onus is on Hamas to relinquish power and end it all, and I don't see yall devoting the same energy to holding the Israeli military and the Israeli government accountable (maybe you think it goes without saying). You are right in your understanding of my views.

This post will be long but I do encourage you to read it all as it covers everything with nuance and math. The last bit of this post is the most important of it all too.

To answer your questions surronding the IDF

1. Your question surronding holding those in the IDF accountable:

The Israeli government has done bad things and does deserve to be held accountable. What I personally think is that individuals in the IDF responsible for war crimes need to be arrested and criminally tried in an international court of law.

2. Your statement about Israel holding Palestinian prisoners:

The majority of Palestinians prisoners are those who have committed crimes in Israel or have conspired to commit a crime.

There are Palestinians held who have not done anything to warrant being imprisoned, and obviously any number higher than 1 is bad, and there are far more than just 1.

Realistically because I am not Israeli so don't have any experience directly with Israeli politics on the ground, I cannot say realistically what should happen, however ideally what I would want to happen is for policies and guidelines to be updated, and for the updates to be enforced, ideally with, I'm not sure the right word specifically, but like an overseeing committee to give periodal reports to make sure everything is held to a high standard.

3. Your question of if asking "do you condemn the IDF" is antisemitic

It depends on the context. If you see a random jew or Israeli online and ask them, then yeah it is. This is because you don't really see people messaging Chinese people and asking if they support the CCP. If you see a blog engaging in discussions surrounding the conflict, then it's more of a gray territory. If the blog has said it before, then from the perspective of the blogger, you either didn't care to look through their blog or did and think they're lying, which can be interpreted as antisemitism if they assume your motivation for either of those is antisemitism, however it could very well be that you didn't look hard enough on their blog and didn't have any antisemitism in your intentions, but the blogger could still very well interpret it that way.

Do I myself condemn the idf? With certain actions yes and other actions no. I will not condemn the IDF for defending Israel after Oct 7th. From a logical standpoint, the Israeli government has a responsibility to keep its citizens safe, and a facet of doing so is the IDF doing things. It would be a deservice to Israeli civilians if nothing was done to prevent them being killed. From an emotional standpoint, I have family in Israel. I want them protected and safe. I cannot put into words how much I would mourn for them if they were killed.

Do I agree with every action the IDF has taken before Oct 7th and afterwards? Fuck no. The war has gone on too long. They are trying to get rid of hamas and whilst i do agree with that goal, too many civilian lives have been lost for me to want what they are doing to continue. I can understand logically why they are continuing. They have an obligation to Israel's safety, which includes wiping out Hamas. And obviously those in charge still think going ahead is worth it which I disagree with.

4. Your question of what do I consider it instead of genocide

I consider it at this stage the sad affects of regular war as well as war crimes. Not every action taken by the IDF is a war crime, hence the regular war, but they have committed a number of war crimes, hence that part inclined in my answer.

Whilst we will truly never know the full death toll until the war has ended and a secondary impartial group, so neither Israel nor hamas, have tallied the death toll, we will never know. Hamas includes combatant deaths in their death toll.

Because we do not have 100% accurate numbers to work with, i do not know which to go off of. To break down the various different numbers

Netanyahu says it is a 1:1 civilian to combatant death ratio, so for every combatant killed, one civilian has died which if true, is genuinely impressive in any war, and therefore doesn't doesn't constitute genocide. Like if this is true, militaries around the world need to be taking notes from Israel, that's how impressive it is.

To go with the top numbers from both sides from biased sources on both sides, al Jazeera says that as of 4:30pm gaza time Oct 25th, 42,847 Palestinians total have died. The most recent release from Israel of hamas fighters dead is 18,000.

Based on that, minuses Israel's numbers of hamas fighters killed from total death toll, that leaves us with 24,847 civilians killed.

If we round up to 25,000 civilians so the math is easier, that is a 25:18 civilians death toll roughly. Scaled down to compare with the 1:1 ratio Netanyahu states, that goes to 12.5:9 ratio then to a 6.25:4.5, then a 3.125:2.25 ratio. Further scaling down goes to (following the rules of rounding as it has too many decimals to work with)

1.56:1.125

To further round for nice measures, still following the rules of rounding

1.5:1.2

So slightly more civilians killed than hamas fighters per hamas fighter killed.

To put the numbers prior to ratios as a percentage,

Netanyahu says 50% of those killed are civilians

The biased numbers from both sides says a 57.99%, but we will round it to 58% of those killed are civilians.

According to a UN press release which i will link at the end, taking data from multiple wars, the average death percentage and ratio is 9:1 or 90%. That is 90% of deaths being civilians or 9 civilians killed for every one combatant.

According to the math, Israel's actions are still well under the average death ratio in a war.

Now, genocide does have more factors than just numbers. Intent has to be factored in.

Whilst there have been some israeli officials who have voiced their own personal opinions which are disgusting and say that they personally wish to kill all Palestinians, this has not been reflected in any official decisions released to the public.

If I say an opinion, it does not mean the company I work for also thinks that. To bring it close to home for me, a politician of the Act party, which make up 1/3 of the coalition government here in NZ, want to bring in a bill to overhaul our founding document which will harm Māori, our indigenous people. The two other parties in government have said they do not support it. Ergo, just because David smellmore and his punchable face want it, does not mean the NZ government shares his intent. To bring it back to Israel, just because some people, most who have no power in regards to the actions taken by the IDF made some disgusting social media posts, does not mean that intent is in the IDFs actions.

With all of that said, that is why I do not currently believe it is a genocide.

If evidence comes out in the future where it shows genocidal intent or the hamas fighter deaths being far far far lesser to the point where the ratio is more than 9:1, then I will 100% change my tune and call it a genocide.

The data currently does not show that it is one.

That being said, it not being a genocide doesn't mean that its not terrible or doesn't deserve attention, as it does, it very much does. I just believe in accurately labeling things. Something can be bad and not be the worst thing ever and also deserve attention and activism.

5: what should happen to the houses?

Realistically speaking, it is too complicated to force Israelis from homes one occupied by Palestinians. Some homes were taken by force, some were sold to Israelis (and jews prior to Israel's existence in the modern day). Records will have been lost and I think it's unfair, but not equally unfair, for an Israeli family to be kicked out of a house rightfully purchased as well as for an Israeli family to remain in a home wrongly occupied.

I think that the Israeli government should commit to helping to rebuild Gaza in general, and also to build new houses to house everyone. If it can be proved that a house was wrongfully taken from a Palestinian, they should get the option of their old house or a new house in a different location, and if they chose the old house, the Israeli family should get moved to a new house. Otherwise an issue of homelessness could occur.

Whilst it might not seem entirely focused on justice, as well it isn't, it is focused on the least harm for everyone. Because harm cauaea resentment and I want peace. Sometimes, things can't be idealistic.

6. Onto your last question about why zionists don't often talk about the Israeli government's wrongdoings

That is because there is not a safe space for us to do so. Literally.

I have tried before and I just got asks from antizionists saying that I actually didn't care and was lying to seem more "reasonable" or like a good person. I also got people assuming I was then an antizionist and got a few people who were quite surprised that I still want israel to exist who sent me nasty hate anons too.

If more people allowed for jews and Israelis to talk about the wrong doings of the Israeli government safely, more of us would do so.

But, we often opt out of doing so in public and instead only do so in more private spaces. I have spoken many times about things I dislike that the IDF and Israeli government have done off of tumblr and in a more private space, and I know so many other jews and Israelis who also have done the same.

It is much easier for me to cope mentally with antisemitism as I just brush 99% of it off as some fuckward online who has no real affect on my offline life than it is to cope with people sending mean comments to me because they don't believe I actually believe what I say I do or have these false preconceptions of my views because of a handful of posts.

I do want to again say that it is so refreshing and nice to have someone genuinely ask instead of sending hate. Because you genuinely asked, I gave you my thoughts on the wrong doings of the Israeli government. If you had instead sent hate, I would have given you a half arsed replied instead.

You were lying in bed once again when you heard a knock on your door.

“Y/n? I’m worried for you, you haven’t left your room in god knows how long, I know you loved him, but you need to come out of there” your roommate said.

After you were done showering, you changed and walked out to your roommate and her boyfriend, who both looked like proud parents.

“Don’t you look handsome? Who knows you might meet someone new at the venue” your roommate winked.

When you guys finally arrived, you noticed that the venue was very small and the crowd was very small, but hey, what would you expect from a local band? You were still moody though, I mean you were being a third wheel just a few weeks after you and your ex broke up.

“Come on y/n! Turn your frown upside down and enjoy yourself!” Your roommate’s boyfriend smiled.

You faked a smile before your roommate handed you a beer and she started to talk to her boyfriend about the venue and the band. The band, in your opinion, wasn’t bad, but they weren’t anything special. They both tried to drag you into conversation, but you didn’t want to talk, you still wanted to sulk about your ex boyfriend, you missed him.

You quickly excused yourself to the restroom to sulk, but on your way there, a guy suddenly turned and spilled his beer over your shirt.

“Oh my god i’m so sorry I didn’t see you there” the guy apologized profusely as he tried wiping your shirt with a tissue he pulled from his pockets.

“It’s fine, I didn’t really like the shirt anyway, my ex boyfriend got it from me” you said, earning you a little chuckle from the other guy.

When you made eye contact with the guy, his eyes were like the warmest melty chocolate brown and his heavenly gaze made your cheeks feel hot. He was attractive in a way that you couldn’t describe, he was attractive in a way that was completely different to how you found your ex boyfriend attractive.

“My name’s Jason by the way” the guy smiled.

“Y/n” you smiled back.

“So what brings you here?” You asked.

“My brother’s dragged me along, but if I’m being honest the band isn’t exactly my style” Jason laughed.

“What about you?” He asked.

“My roommate and her boyfriend dragged me along” you said.

You two started to talk about life, and what your hobbies were, he said he liked reading and cooking, while you said you liked to paint a little, to which he said..

You could feel yourself burning, and it didn’t help that your roommate and her boyfriend mimicking bedroom activities from the other side of the venue.

“I think my siblings are waiting for me, but do you wanna take my number before I have to go?” Jason smirked.

You froze for a second before you realized what he said.

“Oh, yeah! Of course!” You stuttered.

“I can’t wait to started texting you” Jason winked before strutting back to his brother’s who were looking at you with mischievous looks on their faces.

When you got back to your roommate and her boyfriend, still in a love-drunk daze state.

minor season 5 spoilers for lmk!!!

(some sketches + my thoughts on the new season :0)

this season was so good!! i'm gonna put my long rant about my thoughts below, just cause i have a lot of things i wanna talk about :3

animation: ik the animation change was jarring for some people and i did almost cry about flying bark leaving the show when the news first dropped, but i honestly think wildbrain did a great job and the animation is still super cute and fun. it's definitely different and you can tell, but they still do all the silly animation things that flying bark did and this season honestly had some of my favourite humor (visual and otherwise).

i'll definitely miss the old animation, fully hand drawn 2D animation is becoming harder to come by in cartoons now so it's sad to see this show lose one of the most exciting aspects of it, but i'm looking forward to seeing how wildbrain does in the following season(s?). i'm honestly just glad we're getting more monkie kid content.

plot: i did enjoy the plot they set up. this season did feel different pacing wise? if that makes sense. not that it's necessarily bad i just noticed it felt a bit different. i'm really excited to see more about this whole chaos thing.

ik li jing wasn't necessarily a villain, but he was an antagonist for a bit so i'm adding my two cents about him and nezha. i didn't love what they did with their story arc, but ik there's only so much that can be done in a 10 episode season where each episode is only 10 minutes long. i think their arc would've just benefited from more time :(

villain(s): i think the nine headed demon is such an interesting character (even though he did confuse me a bit) so i hope we get to see more of him. probably my favourite big bad so far personality-wise.

main characters: i'm glad sun wukong had more screentime this season!! he always either isn't around or gets trapped, so it's nice that he was present again.

i definitely felt this season focused a lot more on the monkie trio, which was bound to happen, but i like them so i was fine with it. idk how much of a redemption arc macaque is trying to have, but i kind of hope it's not a standard redemption arc. not that i didn't enjoy macaque's character this or any other season, i do like him most of the time. i just personally hope they keep him as more of a neutral figure even if he does stick around with the group.

i don't have much to say on mk that hasn't already been said. i love the guy and i hope he gets to be happy again soon T^T

side characters? ig: i thought mei and red son's episode was cute. i love dragonfruit interactions a lot, but i do hope red son gets some more screentime next season cause i miss him </3

i am happy sandy got some more screentime though, his episode with mk was cute. also tang was so real this season, he's just like me fr (i hate manual labor).

other notes and whatnot: this season felt shorter somehow, even though it wasn't and i'm not sure if we'll be getting a special like we always do or if they're just going to move on to the next season. either way, i'm excited to see where it goes from here.

although i wasn't in love with the ending of this season, it just felt a tad rushed and i definitely think we would've benefited from a few special episodes again.

i'd give this season a solid 8/10. i would love to go through all the episodes and share my thoughts on them, but i'm just gonna share my ranking of the episodes.

I never said that it wasn't toxic. Does a healthy relationship look like falsifying marriage documents, committing a crime and fake marrying your Gaylord friend? Does a healthy relationship look like putting your Gaylord friend's name on your Father's death notice then having your real husband don a rusty coloured hair piece at your fathers funeral and try to pass him off as your brother? Look at Cait's friend (or former friend) Simon Kassianides. He shows his wife's face on SM, he announces the birth of his child with no question as to who the mother and father are. He doesn't pap walk with trollops. HEALTHY. NORMAL.

It looks like Simon got married in a traditional Greek ceremony. Looks like Cait was not in attendance. To pivot for a moment here, what happened to Simon and Caitriona's friendship? She hasn't liked a single IG post of his for his wedding or daughter's birth. Nor has she liked any of his posts for years. They use to live together. They probably shagged back in the day let's be honest. As if two cuties such as them who shacked up together didn't have special benifits. And Cait did seem to like Mediterranean men. I mean she dated Dave Milone who was as ugly as sin for Pete's sake. Simon even came to visit her in Scotland when she landed OL role. So they were on good terms.

Simon did, however, apologise for his late congratulatory message of the arrival of Auggie and congratulated 'them both' and danced to 'celebrate them all'. Tastefully said Simon 👏. And then zilch. No more contact.

Here are my two cents. Greek men are proud and traditional. I think Simon looks at what Caitriona has become and looks upon the narrative with disgust. He probably wants nothing to do with it. He has distanced himself. He never went steady with her all those years back and maybe there is a reason for that. Perhaps they were just better off as platonic friends, or perhaps he recognised something within her that kept her in the friends with benefits zone and just as well. He saved himself from a life of hell and has a beautiful, healthy life and family.

TWST Overblot theory

CW: Spoilers book 6-7, this post is really long btw, Spoilers spoilers SPOILERS Spoilers for Malleus's age, grim boss theory.

So while I was going through book 6 (This was like when it came out) Idia made an observation and he theorized someone could be inciting these overblots. I looked over it as to what he said after made sense but I watched a theory from Rose Ember in which she discussed a time loop theory. I wanted to throw in my own two cents about an overblot theory I had been thinking about.

(As of making this post it is May of 2024 I am not up to date on any JP chapters, Crowley's card, or Heartslabyul manga book 4-Octavinelle. All of my sources I will be putting as I am taking direct game quotes)

I also would love it if at least some of you guys read this post and reblog I would love to hear y'all's opinions on this. I never seen people really look into it and I want to maybe bounce ideas off of some people on what's really going on.

Riddle's overblot obviously happened because his authority was being challenged as the housewarden from Ace going in a duel against him to everyone else getting fed up with his rules to defying him. Not to mention with the deep severe ties with his mother and her rules he well overblots.

Leona

His overblot happened because of his failed plan to basically kill off Malleus (He really pulled a long live the king here) from my understanding he gave up and the Savanaclaw students were like 'tf why?' he turned into an angry kitty and the feelings of being the second born prince and all that trauma raised up especially when Lilia went off on him (I fully blame Lilia for this). And he overblots.

Azul

His overblot happened from when Leona used his UM on Azul's contracts and blipped them away basically. When this happened he went back to that time when he was being bullied and was no longer powerful like he is now.

Jamil

Jamil's happened because well Azul thought it was cute to live stream his whole plan to the world exposing the fact that Jamil was essentially going to betray Kalim and well his deep-rooted years of being merely a 'servant' came up and he overblotted.

Vil

He overblotted because he basically lost to neige and was attempting to kill him (Almost killed Rook and the others). He accepted he had lost to him and will always lose to him and just snapped.

Malleus

He overblotted because of the announcement Lilia was leaving and retiring to Red Lagoon (Okay just leave your kids...ig?). I also want to say Yuu's announcement added to it because well Malleus is a lonely dragon who just wants friends and someone who is basically his father announced he's leaving and his friend outside of Diasmonia is leaving too.

Idia isn't in this list for a reason will get on with that later.

When it comes to all of these overblots in a certain sense none of them make sense as to HOW they happened. Coincidentally how is it that 7 students overblot in a school year especially with how rare they apparently are supposed to be. With them being 16-18 (Leona being 20 and Malleus being 178) You'd figure the eldest third years know the most to be careful. Plus if the staff is doing their job correctly all the students know to be careful right?

If it happened like once in a year that's understandable but 7 coincidentally? Leona had 4 years to overblot why all of a sudden??

I also want to point out something whenever blot would get built as far as I'm concerned they wouldn't even be using magic (Just having a negative emotion) and blot would built. Going by all the patterns from the overblots they get pissy it builds up they use their UM BOOM overblot. I think someone is personally targeting people to build up negative emotions purposefully and then they use a lot of magic which causes it. Having a UM like this could be entirely possible because look at the facts.

Book 2. It makes sense Ruggie would overblot rather than Leona. He just drank a potion that enhances his UM he was mad struggling he just GOT betrayed by Leona makes sense for him to overblot right? Not to mention during the Camp vargas events Overblotting was such a huge concern with just via their magic so why would the staff risk putting MANY students at risk of an overblot if they knew it wouldn't happen.

I also want to add Idia has a curse which has him burn blot and he was the first in hsi family to break that and overblot. However in order for him to thrive he needs to build it it's most likely being in Tartarus he built too much than he could burn off. (In Ch 6-51 it is also stated curses, and sealed phantoms getting lose can cause overblots as well meaning negative emotions and building power aren't the only causes to an overblot) There is a possibility from being around too many phantoms he built too much, but even then his family curse could have been burning blot during his overblot so Idia was probably never meant to overblot by any normal means (However if his curse wasn't burning off blot foul play could be involved)

Going by these facts the theory in question is a possible UM that affects negative emotions to be built up more and possibly a mood change. OR there is a pause on how blot is released causing it to build up.

(Has it ever been stated on how normal humans release blot if it's been built up...?)

ANOTHER THING. JP SPOILERS BTWWWW.

I cannot confirm my sources with this one so please take this with a grain of salt. I came across a post (I CANT FUCKING FIND IT) in which it translated if Malleus's ob doesn't end he will basically become the no. 1 enemy to society (Basically pulling an Eren jaeger). He's very powerful so you'd assume he's very mindful about overblotting especially if he's going to become the no.1 enemy of humanity.

I have some theories on who could be doing this.

1. Crowley

CROWLEY? Him and my other suspect are battling for first place but let me state my reasoning.

For the exception of Book 3, 4, 5? and 6? he was not present during the overblots and was basically useless. However he was present for book 1, 2, and 7. I put a question mark near 5 and 6 even though he was not present he was still in the general area. Via he was brought to Styx and he was DEFINITELY there at the VDC since it was a school event. book 3 and 4 he was for sure not present for.

We quite literally know nothing about him not to mention he's kind of a jerk face and will do anything to save his ass. For Jamil's and Azul's overblot this goes into hand that he could have activated his UM beforehand on them and the overblot started.

Not to mention during book 5 the headmaster of RSA was like "Bro I sense heavy magic presence" and Crowley was like "Naw you mad tweakin homie."

Two thing

He's Fae.

He has to be as old as Lilia or younger. But he definitely has at least 300 years of existence in his age.

HES A LITERAL HEADMASTER FOR A MAGIC SCHOOL

Meaning he DEFINITELY can sense magic so for him to blatantly ignore the blot sense with Vil either he was protecting his ass from losing his job or he is hiding something. Especially since it was an overblot If Malleus's magic was that good Crowley would have either sensed Vil's overblot or Malleus's Magic.

(If I'm correct an anonymous tip was sent in to Styx to check out NRC the anon in question was possibly RSA headmaster as it makes sense)

2. Ortho

Stay with me here

Ortho is from Styx and obviously Styx investigates overblots what if styx itself is causing overblots so they can study them and they are using Ortho.

Since Idia was theorizing about the Obs there is a possibility that he is not in the plan and it's Ortho plus his family and styx staff that's all in the plan.

(They could have gone too far with Malleus's)

It's merely a theory and I have no evidence to back this up

3. Grim

Quoting Idia's exact words ahem..

"He is seriously mediocre in every single way." "The preliminary report of him being a dire beast with high cost of blot density checks out, though." "He's a magical fusion of a direbeast, and some kind of animal." "He's as lackluster with magic as he looks...and his blot density COULD be phenomenally high."

Ahem okay.

So as we know Grim is a fusion with what could be a Direbeast and possibly a cat. Going back to exhibit A in which Idia said loose phantoms could cause an overblot he could be affecting the blot levels around him Yuu being the only one not affected since Yuu isn't from said world.

Some Cons tho

Using this logic Ace would overblot as well same as Deuce hence why I think he is the least likeliest but it does make sense as eventually Grim does interact with the overblot squad.

4. Yuu

STAY WITH ME STAY WITH ME OKAY

Yuu comes from different world and are trying to actively escape using their new plan MICKEY. However it doesn't exactly explain how Yuu got there since well 1 they are from a different world how would a horse basically cross the multiverse (Unless the Magic mirror is scheming against Crowley and needs Yuu's help that's a different conversation) we know jack shit about Yuu. HOWEVER Yuu could be subconsciously activating overblots since they are prom a foreign world (I'm basically thinking of that one mickey game with the ink brushes EPIC MICKEY) except Yuu causes them.

Cons tho.

As per the manga every Yuu is different every chapter and this would highly contradict (Also how tf are there multiple Yuu's?) not to mention Ace and Deuce would also OB.

gonna preface this by saying of course, everyone's entitled to their own opinion and if it makes you uncomfortable that's perfectly fine, but to me it's fun and it's fictional. at the end of the day it's fiction.

It was the birthright of a child of Hades to command the army of the dead so Nico was quite used to seeing ghosts and spirits. What he wasn't used to, though, was seeing the former vessel for the Titan Lord whistling a cheerful tune right in the middle of camp as if he was totally welcome to do so and nothing bad had transpired two years ago. No one noticed him- obviously.

For a moment Nico wondered if Luke even knew of his existence and his status as a child of one of the Big Three, the lord of the dead no less. If he did and he knew Nico was at camp was he expecting to be spotted by the Ghost King himself? Or was he just appreciating the sights of the home he almost destroyed before he skipped back off to wherever he went to spend the rest of eternity.

But wait, why was he even here- as in, the surface world?

He died two years ago, his soul should have been sent to his father's domain by now. From what he heard from Percy, the Fates themselves carried away his body and Nico liked to think those old hags did thorough work. But it seems even Fate itself makes mistakes.

"Looks like Thanatos missed one," Nico remarked, strolling coolly towards the son of Hermes. "He usually does a good job but he's been on a rebellious streak lately. He's hopped on Charon's unionisation bandwagon and wants a pay raise."

Luke regarded him with an even expression, eyes narrowed questioningly but not so to welcome hostility. "Son of Hades?" he asked, a blond eyebrow quirked curiously.

"That's me," Nico replied, feeling the repressed sneer creeping up. "You're Luke Castellan. I've heard all about you."

I am a proud hindu so i was angry about what happened to kashmiri hindus. but after reading up on it and the history of kashmir in general, one thing is really obvious: india failed kashmir (all of them not just hindus). I hope you're aware of what happened in Kashmir to Kashmiri pandits. Pakistan has dreamed of Kashmir since it was formed. Since then, they have infiltrated our country, and approximately 300,000 Kashmiri Pandits are reported to have left the region due to constant persecution from the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and other militant groups, like Hizbul-Mujahideen (HM). In 1989, radical Islamists initiated an insurgency, fueled by covert support from Pakistan.

The party at the time did its best to hide this, and stifle it as much as possible, this got an ounce of coverage and light when The Kashmir Files was released

Hindus have 5000 years of recorded history with the land, that Islamists claim has “always been Muslim land”. "Kashmir" is literally named after Rishi Kashyap, if you're aware. On 19, January 1990 mosques blared out the infamous "convert leave or die" and finished their mission of converting the entirety of Kashmir to an Islamic state. They take the name of their Guru who sacrificed his life for India, while they stomp on the flag of India.

In theory, I guess it sounds easy to say "Well, disagreements are flaring up, so let's just split and give them their own thing". But this isn't how it works. Compromise and collaboration is how decisions are made in a democracy. This is our motherland, the last time we split was painful as fuck. The only reason India didn't fall apart after Independence is because of the formation of linguistic states.

Since you asked, I wanted to share my observations and opinions about the timeline between September 19th and October 11th. It’s honestly a wild ride! Feel free to post it or not, depending on what you think is best. Sorry if I missed anything—I’m just trying to connect the dots here (You probably know more about PR tbh) :

Sept 19th – Sebastian drops some nostalgia bombs in his Variety article about Leighton Meester, which probably sent CAA into panic mode. Cue the scramble to boost AW’s visibility and deflect attention away from his past. They start throwing crumbs in the following weeks.

Sept 20th – In a Today Show interview, Seb mentions a bracelet from his mom, and you’d think he just declared war on the 'Stall' shippers! Their meltdown over his jewelry being tied to AW is peak absurdity. Like, chill—it’s a bracelet from the woman who gave birth to him—his MOTHER!

Sept 24th – Cleide Klock from CAA casually mentions Seb’s “girlfriend” who grew up in Portugal (ahem, AW) in an interview that went nowhere. Classic CAA move to keep AW relevant while trying to maintain their narrative.

Sept 19th - Oct 4th – DeuxMoi gets questions about Seb and AW’s relationship status, and what does DeuxMoi do? She posts screenshots of AW liking stuff and the stories she had about Seb's movie on IG. It’s like DeuxMoi is trying to portray AW as the supportive GF while also playing a game of whack-a-mole to keep her in the spotlight.

Oct 4th – At the Chiltern Firehouse party, Seb looks straight-up stressed while he pushes AW inside and helps Ruby with the straights instead. That tense jaw and body language say it all—definitely not the romantic vibe CAA is trying to sell. And that awkward selfie from Ruby and AW? Yikes! He legit looks constipated.

Oct 11th – DeuxMoi drops the bomb about Seb and Leighton, calling him a “couch fucker.” Like, can you say character assassination? This feels like a preemptive strike for AW to play the “wronged girlfriend” card if Seb doesn’t renew her contract.

Oct 13th – A video surfaces of Seb looking totally distressed while bolting from a hotel, with AW lagging behind like a lost puppy. The dude didn’t even glance back. Talk about a disconnect! Evelyn was there too, but honestly, who cares?

Oct 17th – AW tagged along with the cast at the Apprentice Gala Premiere in Copenhagen (as if she was part of the movie) —a classic desperate attention-seeking move. And Seb's smirk? My two cents:

All this evidence points to CAA trying to keep AW in the picture. Meanwhile, Seb keeps shading her in interviews—like when he mentions how people are addicted to filler, Botox, and social media, implying that those who spend their whole day scrolling lack substance and seek validation elsewhere. I think either she or her team realized he wasn’t going to renew the contract, so they paid DeuxMoi to post the podcast claiming Sebastian cheated on Leighton. Suddenly, we start seeing stories about him allegedly cheating on Jennifer and Diana, too.

It feels like a desperate attempt to either back him into a corner to renew the contract or set the stage for AW to portray herself as the saintly girlfriend who always supported him, only to be cheated on like he always does. Cue the “poor AW” narrative! Seriously, dragging up something that may or may not have happened years ago? Really?

Ok so I may be injecting an opinion in something that I don’t want to be involved in but here we go.

While I can understand the emotional reasoning for refusing to vote for Biden, I too am so frustrated with a lot of his choices and really the actions of the Democratic Party as a whole, logically voting blue is still the best option.

Even if Democrats were literally just republicans painted blue (a dubious claim at best) they need our support. Just look at it, protests have pushed Biden into a corner, he can’t disavow them because that’s a huge part of his base. He can’t use huge amounts of police and military force against them either. He needs these votes so he’s had to change the narrative. And we can keep pushing. Trump, reigning tear gas and rubber bullets on BLM protesters for a PHOTO. Trump is chomping at the bit to use military force on protesters. And his supporters would 100% support them. If dems are just as bad, at least they have 1 hand tied behind their back because they have to at least pretend to be leftist.

Like trolly problem logic, you’re already American, you’re already involved. Our president whether you voted for them or not is our representative on a global stage. So inaction is just as complicit as voting. And hey if the revolution comes and you blow up the tracks, ig it didn’t matter who you voted for.

Honestly just my two cents. Do whatever you want, free country and all.
