So the obvious type for Pokémon Brilliant Diamond is Steel, with a starter, a legendary, and a breakout that got into Smash all sharing the type. But… there’s not much else beyond that. So I got some help from the past (as well as a mythical I forgot I’d get).
(Oh, and I didn’t play this for two days nonstop without sleeping, don’t worry. I’ve been hopping between this and finishing things up in Pokémon Legends: Arceus ever since I beat Volo.)

Pokemon Mini Headcanons
Realized it's been a solid minute since I've shared anything. so! here's some pokemon headcanon tidbits that have kinda been floating around in my head but I don't have anywhere to put them yet:
Barry is extremely tall. Like, at least six feet. Since he's very visibly the goofy type, it's not super intimidating until suddenly he's barreling down the street and nearly knocking people over in his wake. He's also incredibly clumsy, so it's kind of a bull(tauros?)-in-a-china-shop situation.
Leaf is part of the team that revolutionized and maintains the PSS (not part of the original team though, she's too young for that), which is of course led by Bill. Where Bill came up with the, made the team, and did a bunch of hardware stuff, Leaf is in charge of software stuff and does coding for the different programs. As for the rest of the team. well. I don't know who they are bc I haven't gotten that far.
Also, Red's sign name for Leaf is Green, as in, literally the sign for the color (the same goes for Blue). Blue's often calls her Greenie as a result.
As Hoenn's Champion, Brendan is considered a very down-to-earth and blunt person, which is great and all until you remember he's from the ✨️bearimba pokeverse✨️'s equivalent of Florida and is basically Reigning Florida Man Supreme. He's definitely done some crazy stuff but it kinda gets shoved on the back burner (that definitely isn't partially because the media pushes his more serious side in order to fight the "all Hoennians are unhinged" allegations).
Lucas is legally deaf (deaf but not Deaf, he lost his hearing as a kid) and uses hearing aids. He can kinda sorta understand people without them, but it's less like he understands the words and more like he understands the sounds that are supposed to be word, so it's way more convenient to keep them in. Whenever he doesn't want to deal with Dawn's and Barry's shenanigans, he just turns them off, closes his eyes, and relishes in the relative peace and quiet.
He's also the one who gets transported back to Hisui during the final battle with Dialga/Palkia/Giratina. Long story short (bearimba DPPt/PLA rewrite when?), his hearing aids get destroyed in the process of getting transported and he's forced to go through the events of PLA at a huge disadvantage, mostly relying on his quick wit and vast knowledge of pokemon to survive the game.
Lorelei, Karen, and Clair are all besties, and they meet up regularly to have brunch and share the latest gossip (aka pooling together their resources to gather info on their enemies, discuss the most recent affairs in Kanto/Johto, and more, all under the guise of "girls' time").
Silver and Janine first meet when Silver gets accidentally caught up in a prank meant for the E4, for which Janine very vehemently apologizes (under threat from Koga) and Silver reluctantly forgives her (under threat from Lance). They get along surprisingly well after that, especially after they both get involved in the Kanto League as gym leaders, and they eventually become pretty good friends.
Team Rocket was kinda just a shady family business until Giovanni took over in his twenties. In the 30ish years he presided over the it, he managed to develop it into a massive, multi-level and multi-department organization with their fingers in just about every aspects of the Kanto economy before their collapse. (all things considered, it's kinda funny/pathetic how things ended---he had all this power, then just threw all that and his kid out the window because some teenager happened to beat him in a pokemon battle)
Indigo Plateau (the actual plateau itself, not the League building) is pretty unique in that it's literally a plateau in the middle of a bunch of mountains. which. isn't really how geography works. Story goes, it was originally a mountain that served as the battleground for a pair of ridiculously overpowered trainers, and it got leveled in the middle of all the fighting. In honor of the plateau's legend, there was a regularly held tournament for pokemon trainers to decide who was the best of the best in the region. Eventually, some guy decided to make it an "official" event, and that's how the Pokemon League got its start before it spread and became an international organization!

An Ace pokemon is their strongest
Includes All 7 dorms + Staff
This is your sign to totally ask my about my pokemon au I wrote a whole lore doc for it and even added some hisui stuff
Heartybul
Riddle: Shaymin
Shaymin is a hedgehog and since Riddle is the grass gym leader in my au it just worked the best. Imagine it's flower is a rose though. (He probably wouldn't use it for the gym that's too op)
Ace: Scorbunny
I needed a lil rascal for Ace and Scorbunny gives such Ace vibes.
Deuce: Buneary
After the bunny event (can't remember the name of it for the life of me) I had to give him a bunny pokemon. I also wanted it to be a duo with Ace's ace. (tehehe ace and ace) For all you Adeuce-ers I have a drawing vision I'll create one day.
Cater: Ditto
Identity issues. I picture Ditto approaching Cater as Cater and he assumed it was a clone for the longest time. Ofc until he tried making it disappear and it didn't work.
Trey: Chansey
He's like the big brother of the group so I thought Chansey was perfect.
Savanaclaw
I didn't wanna just base them off of their species since I was going to give them Pokemon Beastman types instead. (For example Leona is a Pyroar Beastman)
Leona: Lucario
I wanted a fighting type since he's the fighting gym leader. So when I was playing Legends Arceus and stumbled upon an alpha Lucario I knew it had to be. (Dunno how much it fits tho tbh)
Ruggie: Timburr
I needed a lil rascal for him. Someone who could snag something and run off. Also preferably a fighting type. Timburr fits the profile.
Jack: Lycanroc
He turns into a wolf...this one had to be a wolf. I wanted one that didn't give intimidating vibes and Lycanroc was my best bet. I feel like it's a very loyal pokemon and from what I know Jack is decently loyal. (I'm sorry I don't know much about Jackypoo)
Octavinelle
Azul: Grapploct
I know I said I didn't wanna go species based, but tbh it was either this or Vaporeon and I feel like I could find more similarities with these two. It's pre-evolution is a small little guy who works it's way up to it's strong version, similar to Azul working hard to become the successful man- teen he is today.
(this lil guy)
Jade: Lapras
I needed something to pair with Floyd and just going for the eels felt too easy. Lapras has this elegance that Jade has so I thought it'd work
Floyd: Gyrados
(did I spell that wrong?) He totally caught a Magikarp when he was younger because he thought it looked funny then kept it. Look at it now!!
Scarabia
Kalim: Donphan
I wanted an angry looking pokemon to contradict his friendly optimistic-ness. + elephant. He rides an elephant in Chapter/Book 4.
Jamil: Serviper
Jamil *Viper* Ser*Viper*
Ignyhyde
Idia: Luxray
Almost went with PorygonZ but he likes kitties and as the electric type gym leader I had to go with Luxray. Lions are cats!!
Ortho: Rotom
Come on... Do I have to explain? Oh wait non-pokemon fans might be reading this, yes I do. Rotom can travel between devices and sometimes even the players Pokedex. (Encyclopedia of Pokemon) (Sun/Moon for example)
Diasomnia
Malleus: Meowstick♂️
Everyone keeps giving him a super op team full of legend/psuedo-legendary dragon types but instead I made him part Dialga (basically the god of time) so I could excuse it.
I can't see him getting many pokemon, most escaping their balls and leaving Mal down. But this Meowstick lives in his castle. He wanted to befriend it but it was really stubborn. Eventually they became comrades tho!!
Silver: Swablu
He needs an Altaria. It's a cloud bird (technically dragon but shhhh)‼️‼️Swablu doesn't evolve until level 50 though and he's still young so he needs to wait.
Sebek: Pom-Pom Oricorio
I LOVE HIS DYNAMIC WITH ORICORIO!! I picked it because it was an electric cheerleader and he's always idolizing Mal but there's lore origins
Sebek found Oricorio when he was younger and out playing with Silver. It was injured and about to faint (Pokemon's equivalent to dying) Silver insisted on rushing it home and having Lilia help save it. Sebek carried it all the way there and it grew attached to him.
I can see Baul having issues with him having a non-evolving Pokemon but give it time, it'll prove it can be strong
Lilia: Sneasler
Come on...Look at them.
Sneasler is a Hisui exclusive actually, and Hisui is Sinnoh in the 1700s-ish. It also looks like it could be a soldier, look at it. Amazing. Perfect. I love Sneasler.
Extra: (You'll have to look these up yourself)
Crowley: Haunchcrow, it's in the name, it's a crow.
Crewel: Furfrou, dog you get to stylize, perfect fit
Vargas: Machamp (please say I didn't mix it up, the fully evolved one) Human like muscle pokemon absolutely perfect.
Trein: Lucius, Lucius is a pokemon in my au. shush it's just a rare species
Sam: Dusknoir, skull ghost type. Perfect for Sammypoo.
So that concludes all their aces. Funsies!! I'm back in my Pokemon hyperfix so I'm brainrotting. This was one of many...
I have everything planned out but the lore doc only contains up to Scarabia's arc rn. (But still ask about anything I literally have most of it planned)
The Pokemon au focuses on Yuu, who gets sent to the TWST region (shush ik not creative) by Arceus (Pokemon God). Professor Crowley finds poor Yuu and offers to help them home, if they complete the Pokedex. (I had to type that out 4 times I kept accidentally deleting it)
Thanks for Reading
Octavinelle and Diasomnia are my favs rn because those (+ Pomfiore) I branch away from the main story the most. (Yuu gets into trouble with Azul let's just say~)
So ask about it, I wanna share the brainrot. (I'll probably make a massive lore post about it one day if no one does...I can't be contained)
Anyways have a wonderhoytastic day!!
Thanks for reading, Byebye!!

i wanna talk about my pokemon brilliant diamond team cuz its a little silly. (LONG ASS POST)
so im on the 8th gym, havent beat it, and my team is:
eggman. sweet poor eggman. currently a level 54 togetic. with the move set of baton pass, nasty plot, attract, and metronome. his strat is to make the girls fall in love with him, do an evil scheme, and then fuck around and find out. all else fails, run away.
kirby. level 47 jirachi. cuz i guess you get a jirachi in this game if you played sword or shield. i love them. with zen headbutt, life dew, dazzling gleam, and helping hand, i basically built them to work together with my star of the show pokemon in doubles, because i LOVE doubles. not online cuz im shy.
garchomp. level 69. got it from wondertrade and its just kinda here now. shadow claw, dragon claw, dig, and brick break, it does not set up and only attacks. i basically have no emotional attachment to her im sorry
soap. motherfucking soap. level 90 luxray. during the start of my save file, none of my pokemon would listen to me cuz i had the just great idea of using almost only trade pokemon. got angry and decided "FUCK YOU IM GOING TO CHEAT" and caught a level 5 shinx, put it into violet, and fed it exp candies until it was level.. i think 68? ive only given it more rare candy since then. its only ever leveled up ONCE in battle. right now its my last resort pokemon in the back of my party cuz i do like my game to be a little hard (as proven by eggman) he knows thunder, wild charge, volt switch, and strength. aka "might not work but worth it" "hurt yourself in the process" "attack then FUCK OFF" and "normal type move cuz ground types exist"
lucario. level 60 lucario. its from japan (or a game with the language set in japan, i guess?) and my best buddy. we're friends. i love him. i think hes from violet but he's here for some reason and awesome. he knows aura sphere, rock tomb, swords dance, and meteor mash. hes the guy kirby is with in doubles and the guy eggman runs away to. he's the star of the show. uh.. besides level 90 soap. also hes a master in cuteness contests so he's VERY talented.
dusky. level 48 dialga. just got here. still has base move set. but theyre here for one reason: my stupid ass luck. dusky got their name from the pokeball they were caught from. yup, a DUSK BALL. i dont have the exact stats but, i think.. dialga, a legendary, in a dusk ball, during the day? id say about a 5% chance. AND IT WORKED. i lost my shit when it happened. i think to myself, "this is why you've only gotten one shiny outside of community day fennekin and wonder traded hacked ones. because all your luck goes to bullshit like this." (and the fucking FIRST pokemon i battled on the port to coliseum being a SHINY KAKUNA. why.) might get off the team at some point.
honorable mentions who i booted from the team or something like that:
monferno i caught in legends arceus. left behind but was useful for gardenia and stuff.
razor the roserade. he's a champion from galar. just here cuz i wanted him to be.
bunbun the lopunny. shes also a champion from galar. i just didnt want them to be lonely cuz i never play that game.
R.K. (aka roaring knight) i never used him ever but he's a gallade and i just think hes cool and worth a shout out.
felon the empleon. my starter. i left him in the box because its the electric gym. might pick him back up for the elite four and replace dusky. unsure. move set of metal claw, surf, brine, and blizzard. cuz. yeah. no set up for him only damage.
machamp from china or a game with chinese, i guess. i got him from wondertrade as a machoke and i just think its neat.
ledian. poor ledian. i wanted it to work out. i wanted to pick faves over powerfulness like karen says. but no i cant. youre fucking pathetic ledian. im sorry. i love you.
ask questions if youre brave enough...

More Commander AU
I got someone who said they wanted to hear more about this AU, and honestly, my mind has been swimming with ideas since.
I think I'll start with Rei's relationship with Team Galactic:
When Rei first met Cyrus, he called him 'Captain Cyllene.' Combining his outfit and knowledge of his great-grandmother's name, Cyrus went to check some records. (Since the Meiji period began around 150 years ago, I think Cyllene would be his great-grandmother.)
It's upon seeing that this child has both constructed a Red Chain before and bested Dialga & Palkia in combat that gets his gears turning on what to do with him.
When he sees Rei has also previously prevented the region from being recreated, Cyrus takes great measures into making sure Rei never finds out his true plan.
I imagine that Cyrus would appeal to Rei with the knowledge that the 10 Nobles (and their species/variant) have gone extinct. Maybe some “with them gone, there will be an impending calamity, and we will not have their protection” to persuade him into helping.
I can’t decide if I want Jupiter to be happy that Rei knows her actual name, or for her to be upset that she’s the only one of the commanders he doesn’t call something else. (“He calls Charon by another name. Charon!”)
Now, onto Spear Pillar! (This will be kind of fic-snippet structured.)
Rei couldn’t believe what just happened. This whole time, Cyrus was just using him? This whole time, he was like Volo? Trying to destroy this world to create a new one? Had everything he told him been a lie?
‘He took the Captain’s legacy and twisted it into something truly sinister.’
He stood there, staring at the portal Giratina opened on the floor of the Temple of Sinnoh.
‘No, it’s called Spear Pillar now.’
He saw the Pokémon of the Lakes dive into the portal, followed by the woman who looked like Volo and the girl who looked like Akari. Rei noticed that Dialga and Palkia were looking upon him, and he withered under their stares. Did they recognize him? Were they disappointed that he almost helped to destroy the world he worked to save? Did the Lake Pokémon feel that way? Would any of them be able to forgive him? Would he ever earn that forgiveness?
Rei was so caught up in his own thoughts that he didn’t notice his fellow commanders struggling against being arrested, nor did he notice the person approaching him to do the same. He felt a strike to the back of his head and saw nothing but darkness.
So, Rei is taken into custody, and when he wakes up, he is taken to be questioned:
He explains how he was a Ten Star (ranked out of ten) member of the Galaxy Expedition Team’s Survey Corps. He then goes into detail of what Cyrus told him his plans were.
The person questioning him (probably Looker) doesn’t believe Rei, until they cross-examine the other commanders about Rei. Interpol hears how they found this strange kid one day wearing an outfit bearing a symbol similar but not identical to theirs; they are also told how everyone was commanded to keep Cyrus’ true goals hidden from Rei.
Given those details and how regretful the kid looks, they are unsure what to do with him. They have even less of an idea when the kid mentions Hisui. They decide to call in Rowan and Cynthia (when she returns).
So Rowan and Cynthia roll in with a bunch of historical texts, and find a bit that mentions that Rei one day mysteriously vanished, and returned just as mysteriously. So now they gotta figure out how to send him home. They’re unsure if Dialga and Palkia will be willing to help, given what just went down.
I think the truth about Ingo would come out through Cynthia asks Rei how he was skilled at throwing Poké Balls back then if they were a relatively new invention. He then starts rambling about baseball; when someone asks him to stop, he grumbles something like “Ingo would let me talk about baseball for hours.”
Cue the record scratch.
Rowan would then call up Drayden and mentions a lead on Ingo’s location. Drayden then grabs Emmet and book it to Sinnoh.
A few days ago, Commander Kamado Professor Rowan said that some people were en route to the Hisui Sinnoh region. Rei tried not to fidget as he sat in the cell, but he was honestly getting pretty bored. Then, the door opened, and in walked Looker, Rowan, Cynthia, and two others. The first was a man who looked to be about Rowan’s age with a beard that looked both super cool and counterproductive for when one needed to eat. The other was…
“Mister Ingo? Did you get sent here, too?” Rei asked. Upon closer inspection, he realized this wasn’t the amnesiac warden – the clothes were white instead of black, and he was smiling instead of frowning – but he did stiffen upon the mention of said warden’s name.
“I am Emmet. Ingo is my twin brother. He has been missing for a verrrrry long time. How do you know him?” the man clad in white (Emmet, he said his name was) asked.
“You’re the smiling man in white who looks like him,” Rei realized. That only caused Emmet to grow confused.
“Yes, I would think that to be obvious. That doesn’t answer my question, however.”
“He’s a warden of the Pearl Clan – Lady Sneasler’s warden specifically. We met when I had to scale the Coronet Highlands in order to quell Lord Electrode’s frenzy.” When Emmet asked what Rei had meant by that, Cynthia mentioned that Rei was referring to events that occurred around 150 years in Sinnoh’s past. His smile faltered at that.
“So, you mean to tell me he’s gone forever? That he’s dead?” (Rei was pretty sure he heard the bearded man say “You said you had a lead” to Professor Rowan.)
“Not necessarily–” Cynthia replied “–time travel isn’t so linear. For example, it is recorded that Rei one day vanished and then reappeared in Hisui. That clearly means he returns from here. If Ingo is currently where Rei belongs, who is to say we can’t both return Rei and bring Ingo home with one trip?”
Emmet brightened at that, when Rei thought of something.
“Oh, I should probably mention that when Ingo was found by the Pearl Clan, he couldn’t remember anything of who he was other than his name. So you shouldn’t be too surprised if he doesn't fully recognize you right away.” Emmet looked downright heartbroken upon hearing those words, so Rei went on to reassure him.
“It’s not like it’s all gone! He’s been remembering things recently! He recalls a man in white who looked like him but smiles. He recalls a Pokémon with ghastly flames and something to do with luring. He’s mentioned to me before that he feels like some of the Pokémon in Hisui should have different typings – like Zoroark, Lilligant, and Braviary. He does this strange pointing thing and says things that Professor Laventon says relate to trains without knowing why. He has a Gliscor because he finds its perpetual smile to be comforting.” The more Rei said, the more hope returned to Emmet’s eyes.
“So what are you saying?”
“I’m saying it’s like his memories are locked away, and all these things are acting like a poorly made lockpick. He needs a stronger stimulus to function as the key to what he forgot.”
“So, if I were to go with you when you return to your time, I could act as that stimulus?–” when Rei nodded, Emmet continued “–Well, then! Where do we depart from here?”
“That’s where it gets tricky,” Cynthia responded, “we could ask Dialga and Palkia; but given what just happened at Spear Pillar, they may be unwilling to assist. Nevertheless, it cannot hurt to ask. And if they decide not to help, I’ve heard tales of a mythical Pokémon in Johto that deals with time travel.”
Just a note that Cyrus worsened the trust issues that Volo gave Rei. I think that knowing Cynthia, Rowan, and Emmet would help him to start trusting again. Cynthia helps with trusting those who look like those who've hurt you. Rowan helps with when to trust people who like those you already trust. Emmet helps with better trusting people you already trust; by trusting Emmet, Rei is trusting Ingo's vague memories of him.
Alright, that's all I got for now. I apologize if some part of this doesn't make sense. It's late and my thoughts are all over the place.

THAT’S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME!
Ok so this is gonna be a long list, since my head is only empty when it’s of greatest inconvenience.
Also please read the tags for potential triggers! Lmk if I missed any and I’ll add them right away.
Without further ado, here’s my interpretation of a Sanders Sides Pokemon AU!
* Ok so first of all, the sides are all gym leaders.
* I picture this in the Galar region, but probably with different towns and the like because I don’t remember any of them.
* Basically, just assume that all of the towns are made up, but that Dynamax still is a thing.
* Let’s start with Patton because his story is the least sad.
* His family runs a Fairy Type gym/pokemon nursery.
* Patton is the eldest in a large family, so he eventually became the new gym leader following in his father’s footsteps.
* He has two dads, one who was the gym leader and the other who is a pokemon breeder. They’re both pokemon breeders now and work in a Pokemon Center.
* They are definitely responsible for Patton’s sense of humor.
* Patton and all of his siblings are adopted, but they’re so close that they might as well be related by blood.
* Patton loves taking care of pokemon and would be a pokemon breeder full-time if he could
* But he also loves his family so he continues to run the gym to raise enough money to keep them comfortable and happy
* The Pokemon team I have come up for him is:
* - Togekiss
* - Boltund
* - Greninja (cuz frog)
* - Altaria
* - Frosmoth
* - Hatterine
* (If anyone has any better ideas for pokemon for any of the sides, feel free to throw your suggestions in the notes!)
* Moving on to Logan...
* Like Patton, he also inherited his gym, a Psychic Type gym, from his parents
* However, his family life isn’t nearly as happy...
* Ever since he was old enough to throw a pokeball, his parents have trained him rigorously to become the next gym leader
* They handpicked all of the pokemon in his team
* Except for a Lucario, which Logan caught as a Riolu when he was very young. His parents only let him keep it because of its battle prowess
* So Logan’s team is:
* - Lucario
* - Gardevoir
* - Alakazam
* - Raichu (alolan)
* - Malamar
* - Onix
* (Also this should be obvious by now but not all the pokes will match the gym’s type cuz that’s boring)
* Logan took over the gym when he was 15 and has been running it basically on his own ever since
* His parents still get the final say in all major decisions, even though they don’t really do anything
* Logan resents them, but doesn’t have the courage to stand up for himself
* ENTER PATTON
* Logan is at first pretty skeptical regarding Patton, since he doesn’t seem to take his job seriously
* After challenging Patton to a battle, however, that stance changes remarkably fast after facing a narrow defeat at the hands of Patton’s pokemon
* Even so, he tells himself that he doesn’t have time to become more than colleagues. He must be cordial with Patton so they can coordinate as gym leaders, but that’s it
* Meanwhile, Patton takes one look at this emotionally-repressed man and thinks to himself
* “Oh, this is the guy I’m gonna marry.”
* He then takes literally every opportunity to flirt with Logan
* And he is not subtle AT ALL
* Like he literally goes up to Logan one day and is like
* “I know you’re not ready for it right now, but one day I’m gonna marry you and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
* And Logan is VERY confused and VERY flustered because feelings? What is happening to my heart!? Am I getting sick!?
* (And his parents would absolutely disapprove because they are huge homophobes and want Logan to have an heir to pass on the gym to)
* But eventually Patton manages to break Logan’s walls down and they become close friends
* (And eventually more)
* Now, the twins!
* Their situation is pretty similar to Logan’s, at least to a certain point
* Their parents own a Fire Type gym, and were so excited to have a child who would eventually take over the gym
* Two things happened that they did not anticipate
1) They ended up having twins
2) The mother died during childbirth
* Driven by grief, stubbornness, and resentment, the father had the idea that, in order to make the twins as strong as possible, he would put them against each other at every opportunity
* They would constantly be competing to become better than the other, creating an extremely toxic rivalry
* It didn’t work... at least, not at first.
* When they were very young, Roman and Remus were inseparable.
* Even when their father tried to put them against each other, they would rebel against him and not listen
* (Remus had no issue with this, but Roman quietly longed for his father’s approval, even though he knew it was wrong)
* They had a dream that they would run the gym together, and they would talk long into the night about the gym they would create and the pokemon they would train
* That was, until their father started to take a different approach
* He noticed that, despite the two boys receiving the same education and training, Roman had a better affinity for battle (at least when it came to fire types)
* So he started giving Roman more praise and attention
* Roman was thrilled to finally make his father proud
* Remus, on the other hand, was tossed to the side
* Roman was reluctant to give up his father’s attention now that he had received it
* (Looking back, Roman wishes more than anything that he had given it up)
* The twins were driven apart, Roman being trained to take over the gym, and Remus being completely ignored
* One day, Remus ran away, disappearing in the middle of the night.
* Roman was devastated
* He wanted nothing more than to search for Remus, but he knew that if his brother didn’t want to be found, he could vanish off the face of the earth
* Years pass, and Roman takes over the gym
* His father passes away from illness when he was 16
* He can’t find it in himself to grieve
* Roman continues running the gym, hating how quiet the halls are and missing his brother terribly
* One day, he receives news of a new Poison Type gym being established, one heavily criticized for its unorthodox (and, some complain, absolutely disgusting) gym structure and puzzles
* For the first time in years, Roman smiles
* Their relationship is not nearly as close as it was when they were children, and they still have a lot of that competitiveness that was hammered into them, but they’re trying
* And of course, their pokemon teams!
* Roman’s team is:
* - Charizard
* - Wigglytuff
* - Aegislash
* - Milotic
* - Gallade
* - Butterfree
(Maybe he should have more fire types but I like all of these Pokémon for him and they don’t really have a common type among them and ahhhhhhhh...)
* While Remus’s team is:
* - Garbodor
* - Muk
* - Tentacruel
* - Gengar
* - Mawile
* - Venomoth
* While catching up on everything that happened while they were separated, Roman asks Remus how he managed to establish his own gym so quickly
* Remus smirks, saying that he had a little help from a certain dragon...
* WHICH IS JANUS! HE HAS A DRAGON TYPE GYM!
* And this is where we get into that sweet sweet angst
* Janus was born in a small village surrounded by mountains
* A few months before his birth, a disease spread throughout the village
* This disease would coat the skin in angry red boils and drive the infected delirious with sickness
* One day, Janus’ parents found him shivering with a fever, the left side of his face covered in boils
* Fearing for their lives should they catch the disease, they brought the child into the mountains and abandoned him in an old, dark cave
* He wailed in pain and terror until his throat was so hoarse he couldn’t cry anymore
* Dialga, the legendary dragon-type pokemon with power over time, heard his cries and took pity on the child
* Dialga reversed the effects of the illness, curing the child but leaving shimmering scales where the boils used to be
* Dialga then tasked the dragon type pokemon in the cave to look after the child, not trusting humans to ensure Janus’ well being
* A family of Dreepies, Drakloaks, and Dragapults takes a particular liking to Janus, raising him as one of their own
* Eventually, when Janus is a bit older, he goes to visit the town he was born in (supervised by his dragon family, of course)
* Only to find that the village was gone, abandoned by the few survivors of the horrible plague that spread throughout
* Janus felt no remorse
* He knew that he could only rely on himself, and that if he wanted to survive in this world, he needed to be aggressive
* The following week, he said goodbye to his family, only taking with him his best friend, one of the Dreepies in his family that was now a powerful Dragapault
* It wasn’t easy, as he had to learn the language and social etiquette of the people around him (being raised by pokemon would do that to you)
* He even had to resort to stealing in order to survive, which kept him on the run
* Until one day, he met Remus, another kid on the run
* Together, they were an absolute menace. To this day, the two of them have never lost a double battle
* Eventually, they both opened their own gyms, Remus a poison type and Janus a dragon type
* When not busy with the typical duties required of gym leaders, they’re basically inseparable
* Remus is the one person Janus trusts whole-heartedly
* I headcanon them as either really close friends or queer-platonic partners, but I’ll leave it up to you to decide their relationship!
* By the way, Janus’ team consists of:
* - Dragapult
* - Mimikyu
* - Zoroark
* - Arbok
* - Salazzle
* - Kimmo-oh
* So that leaves one side left...
* Ima be honest, I based Virgil heavily on Piers, but bear with me ok?
* Virgil grew up in a very poor town with his mother, as his dad abandoned them when he was very young
* And when I say poor, I mean that there wasn’t even a Pokemon Center
* Even so, he didn’t wish for anything. He didn’t care about traveling or becoming a great pokemon trainer. He just wanted to be with his mom
* (His anxiety made it hard to leave the house, anyway, so he was in no rush to go on some grand adventure)
* His mom had a dream to open a pokemon gym that both 1) incorporated music and 2) was more down to earth than the grand stadiums that were now the norm for gyms
* When she was pregnant with Virgil, she was more than happy to give up that dream for her family
* However, when her husband, their main source of income, abandoned them, her dream became more of a necessity
* The entire town was on her side, knowing that a gym could bring money to their town
* Their “gym” was nothing more than a small, outdoor stadium, but his mother loved it
* The few curious pokemon trainers who decided to challenge the unofficial gym absolutely loved her, and slowly she started to gain a bit of notoriety
* Virgil was terrified. He was afraid that his mom would get hurt by the powerful pokemon that constantly challenged her
* (And he missed her terribly. She still made time for him, but it wasn’t as much as before she took on the role of unofficial gym leader)
* And so, his mom brought him his very first pokemon: an Eevee that always seemed to know exactly how to calm him down
* He loved his Eevee, and he felt a little bit less alone whenever his mom had to leave for work. He was ok.
* Unfortunately, fate had cruel plans for the young boy
* His town was cast into shadow as a maddened Dynamaxed pokemon appeared a few miles away
* His mom, the strongest trainer in town, left to take it down, despite how much Virgil begged her to not go, or to take him with her
* (She had to go. The second-closest city to the dynamaxed pokemon was still very far away. Help wouldn’t come for a while. She was all her small town had.)
* (...She didn’t return)
* The entire town was in mourning, holding a huge ceremony to honor her memory.
* Virgil was inconsolable, barely speaking and refusing to leave his room for almost an entire year
* If it wasn’t for the people in the town, who cared for him as deeply as they did his mother, he probably wouldn’t have eaten.
* The unofficial gym, without a gym leader, was abandoned, and its small glimpse of fame was lost, plunging the town back into a seemingly inescapable pit of poverty and obscurity
* Until one day, a group of thugs came and terrorized the town, letting loose their pokemon and stealing everything they could get their hands on
* Virgil was terrified, but he couldn’t just stand there while people got hurt. With only his Eevee and his only experience being watching his mom in her matches, he challenged the thugs
* He didn’t stand a chance. His poor Eevee was at its knees within moments
* Virgil was distraught, hating his weakness and how he couldn’t protect the town that had become his family. He tried to fight the thugs himself, only to be knocked back by one of their Pokémon’s attacks.
* He got back up and charged again, tears in his eyes and bile rising from how scared he was
* His Eevee, terrified for its master and inspired by his bravery, began to glow...
* ...and in its place stood an Umbreon, body pulsing with newfound power
* This scene rallied the other people in the town, who banded together to drive the thugs away, Virgil and his Umbreon leading the charge
* From then on, Virgil vowed that he would become a strong Dark Type gym leader and create the gym his mother never got the chance to
* He trained hard, swallowing his fear to capture and train more pokemon for his team
* Which consists of...
* - Umbreon
* - Houndoom
* - Galvantula
* - Gothitelle
* - Corviknight
* - Noivern
* The townspeople, much like Team Yell in Pokemon Sw/Sh, would often go to other cities singing Virgil’s praise and unwittingly causing all sorts of problems
* Virgil has no idea that any of this is happening
* Eventually, word gets out again regarding this unofficial Pokemon gym, attracting the attention of the other gym leaders
* Roman is sent to investigate
* He doesn’t expect much, given the general appearance of the town (it doesn’t even have a pokemon center, after all)
* He’s even more put off when he recognizes the outfits of the trainers in the “gym” as the strange people who have been causing trouble all over Galar
* Even so, he has a job to do, so he dons a disguise and plows through all of the trainers, eager to finish the gym so he can go back home
* His desire to leave vanishes faster than a Pikachu with Agility the moment he lays eyes on Virgil
* Just like his mother wanted, Virgil’s battles take place during a rock concert, so Virgil waiting on a makeshift stage with a guitar in hand
* (Virgil feels like he’s going to explode with nerves, just like he does every time a trainer challenges his gym, but the memory of his mother gives him courage)
* As his Umbreon leaps into battle, he begins to sing
* And holy shit Roman is in love
* The small area is filled with spectators cheering and singing along to the song, and despite it being a far cry from any grand stadium Roman has ever battled in, it has more spirit than anything Roman has ever experienced
* It’s the most fun he’s had battling in years
* Virgil is a tough opponent, a testament to his years of pushing himself, but in the end Roman has more experience
* Virgil is devastated at the loss, knowing it would be a blow against the gym’s reputation, but manages to put on a smile and offers Roman a pin: their unofficial gym badge
* Roman smiles, removing his disguise to pin the badge to his clothes and Virgil is like “holy shit that’s Roman the famous fire-type gym leader oh no he’s really hot oh no what have I done I GAVE HIM A HANDMADE PIECE OF SCRAP METAL OH NO”
* And Roman, ignorant to Virgil’s crisis, is like “cmon, we gotta get the paperwork done to establish this place as an official gym!”
* When later asked, Virgil would firmly deny it, but at that moment he had literally burst into tears
* Roman still wears the badge Virgil presented to him to this day, even though Virgil has repeatedly offered him one of the higher-quality badges they now give out as an official gym
* Virgil’s gym is the only one that doesn’t have Dynamax, since he still has some trauma from his mother’s death
* Prinxiety eventually happens because I say so
* And all of the gym leaders are friends also because I say so
I might add more to this AU if people are interested! And feel free to add your own ideas! I’d love to hear what you think!

@harmonicrecord has sent: SEND ⚠️ FOR A HEADCANON ABOUT MY MUSE IN AN AU. (For Set, Pokémon AU, about Team Galactic)
Amano’s great and blessed inbox-call & my old af prompts <3
// Okay so I’ve already mentioned here, how Set is the one Dialga that got caught up within the games events and was then dragged into the Distortion world.
So I suppose I should elaborate on this a little further:
Obviously nothing here will be enforced, upon anyone else’s portrayals. Ever since the games events, Set has found himself drawn in to observe Cyrus life. It is very possible they may have crossed paths, on a handful of times. Is he trying to understand what may have driven this human to do such thing? Meanwhile, it is possible to assume that their encounters could have only fed into Cyrus’ goals.
Due to being a temporal creature, he already knew about and expected team Galactic’s invasion to th Spear pillar. Unfortunately, he is always a position of an observer. He can’t cause any interferences to any succession of events, even if they put himself and in this case the rest of the world at risk. As such, he simply watched over Team Galactic members raid Mt.Coronet.
Despite being this temporal being, he didn’t expect that humans would actually find a way to successfully take control over them. So, he (and Mahad, the Palkia who was subdued alongside him) was unprepared when the red chains were used.
Losing control over himself was awful in its own right, but the worst thing to happen to him in that whole mess was being dragged into the Distortion world. Up until this point in history, Set has only had very close calls with the one who was banised to that realm while traveling through time. He had only heard of it through others, and his own creator never wishes to truly address or even acknowledge its existence.
Being in the Distortion world is literally being out of God’s reach, he (and all the others) are well aware that if they dare venture into it they are basically on their own. Not only that, the realm’s rules and laws essentially make his powers and abilities useless (they don’t work properly). So it is quite understandable, as to why he fears and avoids that realm.
Despite knowing all of these things, and having a vague idea of what exists inside of the DIstortion world. The renegade (who goes by Bakura [NPC], our Giratina here), doesn’t really know who or even what Set (and the others) is.
Set and Mahad were stuck inside of that realm, until the protagonist succeeded in calming down Giratina. There was just enough time for them to have a handful of exchanges, with Bakura. Also in regards to Set revisiting these events, Bakura is capable of telling that they are all going through the same thing “It is a replay, why are you watching all of this again?”.

Obey Me Characters as Pokemon Trainers AU (Pt. 2):
Part 2 is finally here! Read Part 1 here! Again, the pokemon chosen were considered based on character personality, appeal to said character, Pokedex entries, and, in the demon brothers' cases, their respective sin they represent.
Asmodeus: This demon trainer of Lust is all about fashion and appearances, meaning he prefers Pokemon Contests over battling. If he does engage another trainer, his brothers, or the MC, he will surprisingly put forth an effort if he notices that his pokemon party actually want to battle and dirty up their precious costumes. Since Asmodeus rules the pokemon contest industry, both the personalities of Asmo and his pokemon charming the industry and their fan club without fail, I would think Asmo would be a Normal type. His team will wreak havoc ob his opponents when all of his pokemon know the move "Attract." Vietnam war flashbacks to Whitney and her Miltank
Asmo's team would consist of: Sylveon (originally an Eevee), Wigglytuff, Cinccino, Blissey, Staraptor (refer to its Platinum entry), and Lopunny.
Honorable mentions: Audino, Chatot, and Purugly (when caught as a Glameow; was horrified that it evolved into Purugly. Emphasis on ugly, but still loves it nonetheless)
Legendary: Meloetta
"You are such an ADORABLE trainer! You're so cute that my pokemon and I could just eat you up!~"
Beelzebub/Beel: Beel as a demon trainer would look VERY intimidating due to his height and body build, he is actually a softie and a major foodie; he likes traveling with his brothers to different regions and their respective cities and towns to try signature dishes. Unfortunately for all the chefs, they love Beel as their regular customer, but ultimately hate the fact that he's literally eating the restaurants out of house and home, and kick him out in order to restock on food and other supplies. Don't worry, once the restaurants are fully stocked, the chefs graciously allow him back in, serving him and his twin brother Belphie to a free meal, accompanied by a dessert of their choice, also on the house.
Considering Beel's insatiable appetite, his loving nature towards his family, and his physical strength and physique, I can see him as a dual trainer of Normal and Steel types, leaning more towards Steel pokemon due to their resistance of Poison and sheer endurance to most of the other elemental typings.
Beel's pokemon would be: Ursaring, Munchlax (later evolved into Snorlax, sweetly reminding him of Belphie when apart), Alolan Sandslash, Copperajah, Aggron, and Bastiodon.
Honorable mentions: Steelix, Solgaleo as "the beast that devours the Sun"
Legendary: Melmetal (see Shield pokedex entry) or Solgaleo.
"I'm hungry. After this battle, wanna go grab something to eat together?"
Belphegor/Belphie: Y'all know Caitlin from Unova's Elite Four? That's Belphie. All this pokemon demon trainer wants to do is sleep and spend time with his twin brother Beel. Out of all of his brothers, Belphie is by far the most ruthless of all when it comes to pokemon battling, but doesn't like to show it until after you can't run away from a trainer battle. You wish you could. Belphie would be a very powerful Ghost type user. If you wake him to battle, only for the battle to be time that "I could be using sleeping," you will pay dearly your life. The only two people who have the honor to wake him for a battle are Beel and MC, only after MC proves themselves as a competent trainer.
Belphie's pokemon team would consist of: Gengar, Bannette, Spiritomb, Jellicent, Golurk, and Mimikyu.
Honorable mentions: Decidueye, Palossand
Legendary: Lunala or Hoopa, alternating Hoopa's forms depending on the battle.
"*YAAAAAAAWWWNNN* ....You woke me up to battle? ...Fine, but if this turns out to be a waste of time I could be using to sleep, you're suffering will be slow and painful."
Diavolo + Soon-to-be Dateables
Diavolo: This Demon Lord trainer is of course, the Champion of the Devildom, succeeding his dad. Diavolo is a trainer with many great titles and even greater status, but that doesn't stop him from swinging by each school in the Devildom to have fun with the younger demons and learn all about the latest trends and memes. Diavolo himself is a big kid himself, never thinking twice about his child-like actions in front of nobles or any demon trainer with a high status. He's very charming and charismatic upfront, and is the kind of demon you could talk to or joke about anything without feeling nervous. Diavolo knows that the only reason he's so laid back and fun-loving is thanks to Lucifer, so he trusts and appreciates Lucifer a great deal.
Taking into account Diavolo's personality and status, I would deem him as an expert in Dragon type pokemon, embodying the many personalities Dragon type pokemon have. They enjoy having as much fun as Diavolo does, and both are forces to be reckoned with.
Diavolo would have the following team members: Duraludon, Salamence, Dragonite, Tyrantrum, Haxorus, and Dragapult. Diavolo loves seeing Dragapult yeet Dreepy to their opponents because he finds it funny every time.
Legendary: Giratina, gifted to him from his father after beating him in battle and becoming Champion
"Being both a Demon Lord and a Champion is such a draaaag! Nobody wants to challenge me because they're intimidated by me, I guess. How about you an I have a little fun with a pokemon battle? Don't hold anything back from me!"
Barbatos: His ability to see alternate timelines and universes and manipulate them to his will leads me to the obvious: Psychic. Between caring for the royal family and their grand palace, he can't find the time to battle with his pokemon as a stress reliever, unless Diavolo orders him to battle him and to "have fun" while battling him. Even though Barbatos apparently knows all and sees all, he nonetheless humors Diavolo already knowing the outcome.
Barbatos's team: Gallade, Gardevoir, Alakazam, Espeon, Xatu, and Gothitelle.
Honorable mentions: Orbeetle and Indeedee (one male, one female whom he asks them to help with his daily tasks in the Devildom's royal palace.)
Legendaries: Dialga and Palkia: They both assist Barbatos when he uses his abilities to maintain order amongst the alternate timelines and universes, and keep him from over-exerting himself in the process.
"Would you like to challenge me in a pokemon battle? Haha, no need to answer that, I already know that that's what you want."
Luke: Precious child of God. Very defensive and reluctant to associate with demons, but over time begins caring for them. He favors Beel the most out of all the brothers, but will never admit it outright to anyone no matter how obvious it is to everyone else. Enjoys baking more than battling, so his team isn't fully evolved. He won't battle unless Simeon is training him in battle or Luke challenges trainers in the Celestial Realm that are around the same age and level as he is. Because of his personality as of now, he would be a Grass type trainer.
Luke's team: Treeko, Turtwig, Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Snover, and Bounsweet.
Honorable mentions: Snivy and Milcery, with Milcery helping Luke bake in the kitchen, and Skiddo
Legendary: Celebi or Jirachi
"What? You want to battle m-m-me?! Why? I know I'm not that strong, but I think it won't hurt to try!"
Simeon: Literally Luke's guardian angel in the place of Michael the Archangel during their time in the Devildom. He's very patient with everyone, especially with Luke. His patience gives off an impression that Simeon is a grounded angel who thinks things through before speaking and acting. But if someone hurts Luke in any way, all logic and patience goes out the window, as he will savagely check the individual and pray to God asking for forgiveness. Ground types would be Simeon's cup of tea.
Simeon's team: Torterra, Gliscor, Mamoswine, Flygon, Rhyperior, and Mudsdale.
Legendary: Suicune or Ho-oh
"I think I may be missing something in Luke's lessons as his mentor in both battling and teaching about the ways of the three Realms. Think you could help me figure out what I'm missing with a friendly pokemon battle?"
Solomon: Very mysterious human trainer who doesn't talk much about himself. Is he a rival or friend? It's difficult to tell, but he hasn't done anything to raise any alarms, so the MC deems him as decent for now. But why does he act like he knows something that everyone else doesn't? Because of his seemingly shady impression he gives to others, whether he realizes it or not, makes him a Poison type trainer.
Solomon's team: Roserade, Venusaur, Naganadel, Salazzle, Crobat, and Drapion.
Legendary: Eternatus or Kyurem
"Oh? You're approaching me? Instead of running away you're coming right to me?"
MC: "I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer."
"Then come as close as you like!"
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Finally done! This AU is still a WIP, but thank you for reading such a long post! I decided to include Diavolo and the rest into one big post to keep from making so many parts to this AU

In which the world’s balance is restored
First [ARC 1]: In which the human is transformed First [ARC 2]: In which a present is prepared Next: (N/A) Previous: In which there are three for balance
Deep within the cave that many of the torchic line called home in Scorched Plains, a crowd gathered. In the center of this room, was a large, glowing, orange crystal. Beside it, stood a blaziken and a torchic; Keahi. It was time for her, her who recently decided to be a she again instead of zie, to evolve into a combusken.
At the front of the crowd, among Keahi’s family, were her teammates and friends. Ceebee was currently absent from the group, as were the B Squadron of Team Galaxy, but Gardevoir and Damien, the latter with only slight complications getting in, were there. Keahi glanced back at them, and Nelvana waved back at her partner, everyone smiling at their friend before she turned back to look up at her father.
Within Keahi’s family, when a torchic was to become a combusken was treated as a very important moment. It was a time where a child matured, being strong enough in body and mind to decide to change forms. This was something that Keahi in particular had looked forward to immensely, but something that she had only had the chance to do now. While she listened attentively as her dad continued his speech for the ceremony, she teetered her weight from one foot to the other in brimming excitement.
When Team Galaxy had returned from their mission, evolution had been the first sign that the world’s balance had been restored. Lombre had become Ludicolo in the small gap of time between the restoration of balance and the group’s return, which was as clear a sign as any that their mission had been a success.
As they had later learned after their return, Lombre had evolved after the town had returned from an evacuation. Palkia going primal had caused a lot of destruction, and while the group had done their best in the fight to stall it, it had been quite the panicked time for those trying to live their day-to-day lives. The B Squadron had quickly made the decision as they were seeing some of the active damage and hearing word from others that Pokemon Square, being incredibly close to a cliff, was unsafe in the current disasters. They had returned once everything had settled, and when Lombre had gone to take out the water stone he had packed in his bag, he became Ludicolo, turning the previous stress of the townsfolk into a time of celebration.
Other damages had thankfully fixed either before or not long after Team Galaxy had returned themselves. There were some that were irreversible, new canyons, mountains, islands, and possibly even dungeons becoming permanent parts of the landscape, however the Trio of Creation had been able to fix most of the damage. Buildings were repaired either through manipulation of space or matter, of the slight reversal of time, and pokemon that had been teleported by random portals had been located and returned to their homes.
Which was why, now, two days after the group’s return, Team Galaxy and Keahi’s entire family were able to gather here together for Keahi’s evolution ceremony.
Blaziken still went on, however there was something about the importance of this speech, especially after everything that they had to go through to get to this moment, that captured everyone’s attention despite how long he was talking for. There was some restless movement from some of the young torchics in the crowd, but no one whispered to each other and if one were to glance at those who surrounded them, they wouldn’t find any bored faces. Though Team Galaxy had never been to a ceremony like this before, it was clear that this one was extra special.
Through Blazikens words, which were loudly projected to reach everyone, the sound of whispered “excuse me” quietly cut through what had been the silent crowd. Regardless, no one seemed to react too much to the mild interruption, at least until Ceebee flew right up beside her friends.
“How much did I miss?” Ceebee asked them quietly, respectfully not wanting to distract from the event any more than she may have already.
“Not too much, Blaziken is still giving his speech,” Alex answered, equally as quiet.
“It’s a good speech though,” Nelvana commented.
Alex nodded at his partner’s correction, silently agreeing with her. Ceebee nodded as well, letting out a sigh of relief to know that she had still arrived in time to catch the tail end of the ceremony. Keahi glanced back at the crowd again, her smile only growing bigger to see that Ceebee had arrived in time.
“How did the talk with Dialga go?” Edgar asked, unable to keep himself quiet through his curiosity.
Ceebee’s tardiness to this ceremony had come when Dialga, to everyone’s surprise, managed to get in contact with Ceebee and requested her presence. Fortunately, now for her there were plenty of shortcuts between teleporting and portals to get to Temporal Tower, so she ended up hesitantly accepting the invitation. She had missed breakfast though, unfortunately.
“It was… fine,” Ceebee answered, “I’ll talk more later; now isn’t the time,” she promised him.
Accepting this answer, Edgar nodded, turning back to watch the remainder of the ceremony.
Not long after Ceebee’s arrival, Blaziken’s speech finished. He smiled down at his daughter with immense pride, and allowed her to approach the evolution crystal. Smiling back at her father, Keahi nodded to him before looking to face the glowing gem. She paused momentarily, before stepping up to it. She leaned her forehead against it, and lifted her wings slightly to touch it as well, almost like a half-hug.
The crystal glowed even brighter, some of the glow moving across the surface of the rock and ending up where Keahi was touching it, and then moved to cover the torchic herself, enveloping her in a white glow. Under the light, her form shifted and grew, Keahi growing taller, her build shifted, wings changing into arms. After a few moments, the glow vanished from around Keahi altogether, leaving the crystal glowing just as much as before and a combusken where a torchic once stood.
The crowd burst into clapping and cheers, and Keahi smiled broadly back at everyone, tears pricking at her eyes as she smiled with giddy joy and glanced down at her hands, slowly moving her claw fingers. Turning to look back at her dad, Keahi hurried over to him. She stumbled slightly, not quite adjusted to how she moved slightly differently now, but caught herself mid-stumble with a giggle before wrapping her new arms around Blaziken in a hug, which he returned enthusiastically. When they eventually parted, Keahi looked back at the crowd again, and ran over to her team next, launching herself into a hug with her partner, who immediately returned the gesture and hugged the combusken firmly.
“How do you feel?” Nelvana asked, squeezing her partner tightly in their hug.
Keahi giggled again, “I feel great! I’m so happy!” she exclaimed.
Giving each other another tight squeeze before giving each other enough distance to look at each other but still easily be within arm’s reach, the pair looked at each other. Now as a combusken, Keahi was back to being closer to Nelvana’s height, but Nelvana still had a good extra foot in height; both because marowaks were naturally taller than combuskens, but also because Nelvana was taller than average. As Alex stepped closer as well, however, he was at equal height now to Keahi, though in this moment he appeared slightly sorted while he hunched, which he quickly corrected and stood up straighter as he saw how tall Keahi had become as a combusken.
“Do you still have my bracelet?” Keahi asked Nelvana.
“Of course, here you go!” Nelvana answered, passing over the requested item.
That morning, Keahi had requested that Nelvana bring the bracelet she had made for Keahi’s birthday with them to hold onto, so that Keahi could wear it properly as a combusken. As a torchic, she had wrapped it over her shoulder when she wanted to wear it, but now she could finally wear it around her wrist as bracelets intended.
Accepting her gift back, Keahi took the braided string bracelet and carefully tugged it over her hand to hang around her wrist. Smiling at the item, she shook her wrist around, giggling as she watched the accessory bounced slightly with the movement.
“It’s perfect!” Keahi chirped.
“I’m glad it fits,” Nelvana hummed, “I made it a bit big when you were a torchic, but I was still worried it would be too small for you as a combusken.”
“C’mon, give yourself some more credit Nel,” Alex chuckled, “you have a great eye for this sort of thing.”
“That’s some pretty good prediction skills though,” Damien pointed out, “looks great too; the cooler colors stand out well with your warm feathers.”
Keahi stuck her tongue out at the gengar playfully, “you act like you’ve never seen me wear this before!”
“I didn’t pay much attention then!” Damien retorted, but he smiled back.
From behind Keahi, the arm of Combusken, her step-brother, was slung over her shoulder as he poked his head into the group.
“Hey sis,” Combusken greeted, “and hey, Galaxy and co. Ceebee, glad you made it, we missed you at breakfast.”
“Hi Combusken!” Keahi replied, lifting her own arm to pat his. “That was a long ceremony, huh?”
“You’re the first evolution we’ve had around here in awhile,” Combusken pointed out, “I’m sure dad was really looking forward to it too; he looks super proud.”
Though already mildly aware of this, Keahi couldn’t help but beam at the latter part, “yeah?”
Combusken laughed, moving his hand to noogie his step-sister instead of leaning over her, “of course, you dork!” he teased.
Keahi laughed back at him, shoving him off of her and fixing her head feathers, which despite Combusken’s teasing actions, still only appeared mildly disturbed. Smiling back at her, Combusken stepped back to give some space, and then glanced around at the rest of the group before looking back at Keahi.
“So, I heard you all have places to be?” he questioned hesitantly, “or can we chat more?”
“Oh, right, we do…” Keahi murmured, her smile faltering ever so slightly.
Spinda had insisted on doing something for Team Galaxy to repay them, and thus the entirety of Team Galaxy, with Damien, Gardevoir, and Maurice, had made plans to stay there for the afternoon for some treats and catch up with each other more on what happened while the A Squadron had been out on their mission. Dusknoir had been, hesitantly, invited as well, but he turned down the offer. Apparently, there was something he wanted to tell them before that event though.
Keahi had been hasty to evolve after learning it was finally possible, and not wanting to shove either events to a later date, they had settled on the evolution ceremony in the morning and the team celebration in the afternoon. While this worked, it did limit the amount of time Keahi could spend just with her family. They had come earlier in the morning for breakfast to make up for the possible lost time, but that didn’t change the fact that they wouldn’t be able to linger for long after the ceremony itself.
“Yes, we already have plans to be elsewhere this afternoon, sorry about that,” Nelvana told him.
Combusken shrugged, “hey, just make sure to come back some other time, alright? I’m sure that everyone is looking for time to catch up; more than just the time we immediate family had for breakfast,” he responded, “speaking of though, if you want to head out in good time, you should probably leave before someone drags Keahi off for more conversation and congratulations,” he added.
Alex chuckled, “that is true. We should head off before someone here decides that if we’re lingering here long enough then we must have time to talk to them too,” he agreed, “it was nice chatting with you though, Combusken.”
“Yeah!” Edgar chirped, “it was really nice to see Keahi’s family.”
“Hopefully now we will have more free time, so we shall return sooner rather than later,” Tsuki added.
“Ha, we’ll see.” Combusken smirked slightly. “You guys are always super busy; we understand if you can’t come back in awhile. But hey, y’all are all always welcome. Yes, even you, Damien.”
Giving their farewells to Combusken, as well as some other family members on the group’s way out of the cave, they headed outside. The midday sun beamed down on them as they exited, still nice and warm despite them getting later into autumn by now.
Beside the mouth of the cave, Dusknoir was leaning on the outside wall where they had left him; he didn’t want to be inside with the crowds, but still came out for this trip regardless for reasons that were currently unclear to the others. As they exited the cave, however, he straightened up, moving away from the wall and facing the others. His eye scanned the group quickly, landing on Keahi. He gave her a nod.
“The evolution went well, I see. Congratulations,” he told her.
“Thank you!” Keahi hummed, eagerly accepting the comment.
A pause of silence seemed about to grow, but recognizing this, Dusknoir spoke up again.
“How did your meeting with Dialga go, Ceebee?” he asked, making eye contact with the celebi.
“Oh. It was fine,” Ceebee answered, pausing before going on. “They invited me to work with them, like how Celebi did. I turned them down. I don’t think they were too surprised though; they know I’ll always be with you guys.”
“They invited you to work with them?” Dusknoir repeated, raising a brow.
“Yeah, I think they’re still mourning. Plus, it’s… kinda supposed to be my role. So, I guess they figured they could try asking and maybe get some company,” Ceebee explained, “at least they won’t really be lonely though, they have their siblings.”
After the trio had worked together to restore the world’s balance together, there were choices to be made together, how to adjust to working together more. They had agreed to visit at least monthly, to catch up with each other and work through any problems together. Though, for the first while they had plans to meet more frequently than monthly, due to wanting to make sure they got through their adjustment period. For these early meetings as well, the trio had decided to bring along the Lake Guardians as well, as those three would have things to work through after everything as well.
Until their next meeting, however, each legendary had gone back to their own homes. Dialga went to rest, and Palkia still had more cleaning up to do in the Spacial Rift. Giratina, however, did not have a home. They had spent most of their life in the Distortion Realm, which they were in no way eager to return to anytime soon, and thus any home they had prior to their banishment was long gone.
In the end though, Giratina only had one place to go back to, to call home; Murky Cave. They had flown out to Remains Island, and while Team Galaxy had not been out there again themselves recently, they had heard that Giratina had manage to settle in alright with the village there. Not that there was terribly much doubt for them, it was clear by the tribute room that most of the townsfolk there respected the deity.
Dusknoir blinked, “I see.”
“Well, we’re glad to still have you here!” Edgar hummed, circling around the celebi a couple times. “You’re our friend and our teammate!”
Ceebee giggled, a smile returning to her face, “thank you, Edgar.”
“So, Dusknoir, what was it you wished to speak to us about before heading back?” Tsuki asked, shifting the topic of conversation with her question. “You mentioned having something you wanted to tell us here,” she added, in case he or anyone else had forgotten.
“Ah, yes, of course…” Dusknoir sighed, “I have a request to make to you all. I have done a lot of thinking, during our mission and after it, and I have come to… a lot of realizations. And I believe it would be best for me now to go off on my own. I would like to… discover myself, and I cannot do that here. There is so much more of this world to see, and much more I need to learn about it and myself. So, if I may, I would like go to out on my own.”
Alex frowned, “why are you asking us for permission?” he questioned, “won’t you just go regardless of what we say?”
“Because it is your team that placed me under house arrest. With good reason, of course. In hindsight, you acted well to handle your reasonable suspicions of me,” Dusknoir answered, “I will not leave if you do not trust me to. I understand that I have not done much to prove myself to you all. At least, not personally.”
Slowly, eyes turned towards the time travelling trio; Nelvana, Alex, and Ceebee. As the ones most directly affected by Dusknoir in their pasts, their opinions mattered the most in a case like this. Without a word from the others, it was clear that they trusted whatever verdict their three friends would give to him about this. It took a moment for any of the three of them to speak up, however, hesitating under the breath and mulling over the options. Eventually though, Ceebee exhaled and then spoke up.
“It may be best for all of us if we let you go,” she decided, “I still can’t really forgive or trust you, but I have sensed honesty in your apologies, so I’ll have to give you the benefit of the doubt that you would like to become better. And if that is true, then I think it would save all of us stress by not having you here,” she continued, “besides, and though I hate to use them to back up any of my points, this seems to be what Dialga wanted when bringing you here, for you to get a chance to live a normal life. So, I guess I’ll let you give that a go. But that’s just me. The other two, which you have certainly had more of a negative effect on, may think otherwise.”
After another small pause, Nelvana spoke next.
“I’ve already said that I’m willing to see you become better. I’m fine with that happening without me being there to witness it; frankly I think we’d all do better separated anyway. Again, I don’t forgive you either, but it causes me more trouble than anything to hate you forever,” she told Dusknoir courtly.
Alex scrunched up his muzzle, “I still hate you, but I’ve done some thinking… I think what Nel has been saying is right. You’re not worth wasting all my energy on, making me stressed all the time. I’ll never forgive you, but I’ll let you go,” he hissed, “but know that if the next time we see you it’s your face on an outlaw poster, we will be the first team going to hunt you down.”
Dusknoir’s gaze softened, “I would hope that, if I do something to warrant my face on an outlaw poster, that you would be the ones there to stop me.”
There was almost some resignation to his statement, as if he almost didn’t trust himself for that hypothetical to be a possibility. And that if it did happen… he knew that Team Galaxy would be the best ones to be able to stop him from doing anything worse.
Realizing that no one else was about to speak, and that these three statements were the complete verdict from the group, Dusknoir went on.
“Thank you all for giving me another chance. I hope that if we do meet again, it will be under more favorable circumstances than our previous encounters,” he said, “and thank you, Edgar and Damien, for listening to me and helping show me the errors of my ways,” he added.
Attention momentarily drawn to the other two ghost-types, Damien froze up, his ears flattening and his face darkening slightly, and while Edgar didn’t give off such an obvious reaction like the gengar, the light in his eye flickered momentarily, before he nodded.
“We’re glad we could help,” Edgar responded, speaking for the both of them while Damien was still too caught off guard to say much.
Dusknoir nodded back, a smile in his eye. There was another pause, uncertainty hanging over them. Eventually, with one final goodbye, Dusknoir turned around and floated away across the fields. There were no big goodbyes for him, and oddity for the team, but he was an odd case. Regardless, the tension faded as he did into the horizon, leaving only the small and very faint worry that this could have been the wrong choice in the back of everyone’s minds.
“Well, he’s gone,” Tsuki finally spoke up, letting out a sigh after her words.
Ceebee patted Alex on his shoulder, “I think we made the right choice,” she said to both him and Nelvana.
“I hope so,” Nelvana murmured, “either way, I guess we won’t know for awhile, so we’ll just hope for the best. I think… it’ll be better for us in the long run though.”
“Yeah,” Ceebee agreed, “we need some time to heal, dammit!”
Alex smiled back up at his friends, before stepping away from Ceebee’s touch, turning around to face her and Nelvana.
“Actually, speaking of… before we go home, there’s something I wanted to show Nel here, is everyone cool with that?” he asked, glancing around at the others as well.
“How long should it take?” Damien asked, answering the question with another question.
“Not too long, I don’t think. Maybe enough for if you really wanted, you could poke your heads back inside here and get some proper goodbyes from family,” Alex responded, making eye contact with Keahi directly for the second sentence.
“Oh, yeah! That sounds fine. I haven’t gotten to talk to my mom since evolving yet, I should go find her. You two go on ahead!” Keahi chirped.
Alex nodded back to her, “thanks, we’ll be back in a few.”
He looked over at Nelvana with a small smile, and she, though not knowing at all what her partner wanted to show her, nodded back to him and followed him as he led her back around the cave.
“It shouldn’t be far back here,” Alex told her.
By the vagueness to this sentence, Nelvana could tell that this was meant to be a surprise, and prying wouldn’t get her too far. However, that didn’t mean she could ask something equally vague to what she was actually about to be shown.
“Is this where you disappeared off to this morning?” she asked, referring to some time during breakfast where Alex wandered out from the cave.
Alex grinned slightly, nodding again, “yeah, this is where I went.”
Though he promised it wouldn’t take long, there still seemed to be enough distance between where they had started walking to get here, and Nelvana figured that this walk would either be silent, or she could ask something unrelated that had been on her mind and hope that they had enough time to talk about it before getting to where he wanted to take her.
“How do you feel, about letting Dusknoir go like that?”
“Oh, well…” Alex let in a sharp inhale, hissing as the air went through his gritted teeth. “I dunno. I still worry that he’ll go out there and do horrible things again. He hasn’t shown signs of lying in his apologies, but I can’t bring myself to believe him,” he said, “however… I wasn’t lying when I said that I thought you, and Ceebee, raised good points about not stressing over him forever. And…”
Alex trailed off, taking in another deep breath. Nelvana silently prompted him to go on.
“I also did some more thinking that I didn’t mention back there. I know he’s capable of showing mercy. He has never done it for us, but he did for me. Once,” Alex continued, voice growing quieter. “After he killed my parents, he left me this scar on my nose, and I fled. You already know that. But I’ve realized… there was no reason for him to do that. He very easily could have aimed for my throat instead and killed me there too. Or he could have chased me further in that forest; I was fast, but I was panicked, he easily could have snuck through the shadows and caught me. I still don’t know why he let me go like that; it went against what he worked for; he probably knew that I would vow vengeance on him. But he let me go, as a small, strange and unknown act of mercy,” he explained, “so, in a way, I guess this is my one mercy to him. He gave me a chance back then; I’ll give him a chance now. But just one.”
Nelvana nodded along to this explanation, but before she could say anything, Alex stopped walking and then spoke again.
“Here we are.”
Stopping alongside the grovyle, Nelvana took a moment to glance around at her surroundings and locate what it was that Alex wanted to show her. They were in a graveyard now, tombstones solidly stuck into the ground through the long grass that was everywhere in Scorched Plains. Just at a glimpse, Nelvana could see that most of the rocks were marked with pokemon of the torchic line; from Keahi’s family. Though squinting further back, there were some graves for other fire-type pokemon. It seemed that this was a graveyard for any families living around Scorched Plains; Keahi had mentioned before that her family weren’t the only ones in the area.
However, Alex crouched down in front of two specific gravestones, and when Nelvana crouched beside him, she found that these two were not of fire-types at all, and one was not even of pokemon. On the right, were two names, and she recognized them as being the names of Alex’s parents. He had told her them once during a moment of vulnerability and grieving; she was his sister, and he wanted her to know and remember the names of his parents too, so that their memory would live in the both of them, even if she had never met them. On the left, were five names, the names of each of Nelvana’s family members, including Achta, the purloin.
Nelvana stared at the two stones for many long moments, reading over the names over and over before eventually turning to Alex. She didn’t need to speak to ask her questions, he understood why she would be surprised.
“Blaziken set this up,” he told her, and she knew right away that he was referring to Keahi’s father. “He asked me about our families, before he knew that you no longer have amnesia and could have asked you. Still, I told him, I know it’s something he had… worried about before. And then he offered to make grave markers for them,” he explained, “I told him that he didn’t have to do that, but he insisted upon it, said we were family here too and our family deserved to be remembered. And well… I had been planning on suggesting to you that we make graves elsewhere anyway, so eventually I caved and let Blaziken set them up here.”
“That was nice of him,” Nelvana responded quietly.
“Yeah,” Alex agreed, “so… you’re okay with it then? I probably should have asked, but I hope it could make a good surprise.”
Nelvana smiled softly, “yeah, I… I’m okay with it. This is a good surprise. Thanks.”
The pair stayed there for a few more minutes, but knowing that they promised that they wouldn’t be gone long and that they could always come back here if they really wanted prompted them to get up and start heading back. The return trip was quieter than the one there, silent aside from the mention that they should bring flowers next time, but they both felt a bit lighter than when they had arrived.
As they returned to the others, they found most of them sitting and chatting right outside the cave where the pair had left them. Keahi was absent, but it seemed that everyone else thought it better to allow her some family time on her own while they waited for the other two to return. The others glanced up as the two returned, whatever they were talking about shoved aside in favor of greeting the return of their friends.
“We’re back,” Alex told them, despite everyone being well aware of this by now.
“How was your little trip?” Damien asked, twisting a handful of grass in his hands.
“It was good, thanks,” Nelvana answered.
Though there was some evident curiosity ebbing from the group, wondering what it was Alex had shown Nelvana, they figured that if the pair wanted to tell them, they would, and there was no point in asking right now.
“Should we go get Keahi then?” Tsuki asked, “she went inside to talk to family.”
“Well, unless anyone else had anything that they wanted to do here, we’re ready to head back,” Alex told her.
“I’ll go get her then!” Edgar readily offered.
Barely waiting long enough to hear approval to his offer, Edgar zoomed back inside the cave to locate their missing friend. Before long, he returned outside, Keahi right behind him.
“That didn’t take long,” Damien commented to Edgar.
“She wasn’t too hard to find!” Edgar replied.
“I stayed fairly close to the entrance so you guys would be able to find me more easily when you were ready,” Keahi added, “so, we ready to go now?”
“Sounds like it,” Gardevoir answered, nodding.
“Alright!” Keahi exclaimed, “hey, we should race home! I want to see how fast I am as a combusken now! Ready? Three, two, one, go!”
Without waiting for any confirmation to the idea of a race, Keahi sprinted off on the path towards home. Everyone else froze momentarily, caught off guard from the suddenness of it all. But despite most recovering from any surprise quickly, no one still moved right away, exchanging glances with each other instead.
“I am not running all the way back home,” Damien said, “it’s a half hour walk.”
Nelvana chuckled at him, “I’ll get her; I doubt any of us could run for that long, and some of us have an unfair flying advantage,” she said, then turning back towards the combusken and beginning to run after her. “Keahi, wait!”
At first, Keahi did not slow at the call, but she did glance back, and when seeing that Nelvana was the only one running to catch up, she slowed slightly to allow the marowak to stand beside her.
“Kea, it’s a half hour walk back to the base. No one is going to run that far, not even you,” Nelvana told her once they were close enough to carry a conversation together.
Keahi blinked, “oh, right. Sorry, I’m just really excited! And also, I feel really energetic! But yeah, a half hour race sounds a bit much. Maybe we could race once we get within eyesight of the base…?”
“Maybe. But I don’t know how much energy you’ll have by then. Remember what Alex mentioned when I evolved? You feel really full of energy now, but you also burned a lot of energy evolving. You’re going to need to rest later,” Nelvana reminded her.
“You didn’t need rest right after evolving,” Keahi pointed out.
“Yeah, but there was that moment we were all forced asleep by Ditto-Darkrai. Also, I basically fell asleep right after getting to my nest.”
“So did most of us.”
“Yeah, but it usually takes me forever to fall sleep, even if the day’s events have been exhausting. You know that.”
Keahi blinked, and then laughed, “you’re right! I can’t believe I forgot.”
Nelvana smiled, “it’s alright, you’re just excited. Besides, as you said, everyone else fell asleep pretty quickly too. You probably didn’t notice at the time.”
“Yeah…” Keahi trailed off, smile fading slightly. “Will I be awake enough for the celebration this afternoon?”
“You should be fine,” Nelvana assured her, “there will be lots of food anyway, we can reenergize you.”
“Okay! That’s good, I’d hate to be all energetic now and then fall asleep when I need to be awake!” Keahi replied, smile returning to her face. “Well, if we aren’t going to race then… there is something else I wanted to do, now that I have hands.”
Nelvana stared back at Keahi, silent questioning in her eyes at the combusken’s comment. Giggling to herself, Keahi acted instead of answering out loud, reaching out with her right hand, and grabbing Nelvana’s left hand in it, then moving her hand to intertwine their fingers.
“There!” Keahi hummed, “we can hold hands now!”
“Oh.” Nelvana smiled softly, her face feeling warm. “That was… sweeter than I expected.”
Keahi laughed again, “what were you expecting?” she questioned, only receiving a shrug in response. “Well, for other things I want to try out now that I’ve evolved… I should be able to learn more fighting-type moves, but we’ll probably have to do that tomorrow. For now, I guess we had better start actually heading back!”
Nelvana chuckled, “yeah, we should,” she said, squeezing Keahi’s hand.
The pair glanced back to where the others were, who still hadn’t moved from where they were before, staying back to allow the two to enjoy their conversation on their own. Keahi stuck her tongue out at them, and Nelvana gestured with her other hand for them to follow.
“Come on! Let’s go home!”

A long overdue catch up
Once Brett was gone, a silence fell between Cyrus and Kazimir. The younger man was on his feet, arms held behind his back as usual, his eyes examining the photographs that lined the wall. Most of them he found too painful to look at for too long, so his eyes lingered on the candid photo of him in his Team Galactic outfit. He wondered why his grandfather had such a picture in the first place.
‘...I hope you don’t mind that I put that one with the others,’ Kazimir spoke up. ‘...I wanted to see what you looked like as an adult, so when the opportunity arose… Well, I took it.’
‘Ah.’ That explained that. ‘...It’s fine.’
‘I’m sorry, Cyrus… I’m really sorry. I let you down so badly…’
‘You did nothing of the short,’ Cyrus blandly replied.
‘But I could have done so much more, I should have -’
‘- I do not blame you for keeping your distance. I know what Olya and Aleksandr must have threatened you with.’
‘...You do…?’
‘I was not going to take it lying down. I told them that I was going to do whatever I could to maintain contact with you, and then they dropped the bombshell that if I did, I would be “forcing their hand”, and we would emigrate.’
Kazimir sighed heavily.
‘Yes, exactly… I didn’t want to leave you, but I thought it was the lesser of two evils. I didn’t think that you needed to deal with the upheaval of moving to an entirely new region on top of… everything else,’ he nodded. ‘But… with how things turned out, perhaps I made the wrong decision…’
‘I disagree. You are correct, I would not have dealt with emigration well,’ Cyrus replied, without turning his head. Keeping his back to his grandfather. ‘The time for me to leave Sinnoh was as an adult, not as a teenager.’
‘But maybe you would have been able to get help sooner, in a region that’s less… stifling,’ Kazimir murmured, picking his words carefully.
‘With those two breathing down my neck? Unlikely. Psychiatry is “quackery”, and “not something they’ll have in their house”. No, I was going to suffer by myself, whether I wanted to or not,’ Cyrus bitterly replied, and Kazimir shook his head. ‘You tried to keep my environment as stable as possible. I understand that.’
‘...Cyrus, I have to ask…’ Kazimir began, the hesitance clear in his tone. Cyrus swallowed hard, bracing himself. ‘...What happened at Spear Pillar? All I heard was that there was some kind of disaster… And you vanished afterwards.’
‘...So you have no clue.’
‘I thought you were…’ Kazimir’s voice choked up. ‘I thought you’d maybe… r-reconnected with Nazar.’ The euphemism hit Cyrus’ ears, feeling like a somebody had taken a mallet to his stomach. ‘A-And I heard things about… your team blowing up a lake… That’s not true, is it, Cyrus? Tell me it’s not true…’
Cyrus’ jaw was tightly clenched. His eyes were stinging.
What a disgrace he was. What a failure. He raised his head, staring up at the ceiling, to try and keep the tears from seeping down his face. Damn it, he was not going to cry. Not if he could do anything about it.
But the disappointment, the upset in Kazimir’s voice, damn near broke his heart.
‘...I cannot. I cannot do that, because it is true,’ he admitted.
‘Why? I - I can understand your general idea of erasing emotions, I know that was because of what your parents put you through, but… bombing lakes? How does that help anyone?’
‘I justified it as a necessary evil,’ Cyrus replied. ‘I did not want to do it, but it seemed like the only way to progress forward. In order to help save the universe from the burden of our shattered, incomplete emotions, I was going to have to make the sacrifice of one small lake. Yes, I understood the risk. But I was prepared to take it. ...I sent a team out to make sure that there were no innocents nearby that could potentially get hurt.’
‘God, Cyrus…’ Kazimur mumbled.
‘I needed the lake guardians. I needed the gemstones from them, in order to create chains that would wield Dialga and Palkia. That’s why. I would use the red chains to harness their power as my own, and with that, I would recreate the universe.’
Kazimir held a hand to his mouth in horror; the things Cyrus were saying sounded insane. He knew that his grandson had done some bad things, he understood that Cyrus’ ill reputation was for a reason, but… what he was hearing went beyond his expectations.
He knew that grief and abuse had twisted Cyrus’ heart, but it was only now, hearing Team Galactic’s full intentions, that he started to get an idea of just how much damage had been done. To him, as well as to the region.
‘I came so close to succeeding. Oh, the champion tried to stop me, as did her friend. Cynthia and Ksenia, Sinnoh’s heroes. But the biggest obstacle was the gap in my knowledge. I had spent so much time poring over the myths and legends of this Godforsaken hell hole. So much time researching the lake guardians, Dialga and Palkia.’ Sucking in a deep breath, Cyrus closed his welling eyes. Despite his best attempts, a tear trickled down his gaunt cheek. ‘But I had no idea about Giratina’s existence until it was dragging me down to hell.’ ‘“D-Dragged you down to hell”?’ Kazimir repeated, choking on his words.
‘Giratina, the Pokemon banished to the Distortion World for its violence. My actions had upset the balance of the world, and Giratina arose to correct it. By taking me with it. That’s what happened at Spear Pillar. My goal was within my grasp, I was just brushing a perfect new world with my fingertips - and then it was snatched away from me.’
‘Y-Y-You still want to do it? T-To try again?’ Kazimir questioned. Cyrus could not see his grandfather dissolving into tears, but he could certainly hear it.
‘...No. Not for everyone. It took being imprisoned in the Distortion World for me to finally pull my head out of my backside and start to reflect on myself, my actions. Why everyone outside of Team Galactic was so opposed. I accept that I was wrong to override everybody’s bodily autonomy like that, but I genuinely believe that the world would be a much better place without emotions. But I underestimated just how attached people are to these repulsive feelings.’
‘...Cyrus…’
‘...I’m trying to get better. I understand now, I know that I am the outlier. I cannot comprehend why, but I accept it, no matter how reluctantly. And I am trying to improve my mental health. To conquer my demons. ...I am in therapy. I have a therapy Pokemon. I am on medication.’
‘But you still want to remove your own emotions?’ Kazimir wept.
‘If I were to be given a magic pill that would make me permanently emotionally empty, I would take it in a heartbeat.’
‘...God…’ He tried to shake the thought loose, not wanting to commit that one particular detail to memory. ‘H-How did you get out of there…?’
‘...Ksenia came back. God knows how she managed to get in there again, but she came back for me. I was in there for a month, I think. Judging by my estimations once I was out again, because time certainly did not flow the same in there as it does out here. Give or take a week. But that is one reason why I will not try again. I cannot count on Ksenia rescuing me again. I cannot count on surviving a second attempt. Granted, my life does not mean much now, but…’
‘Please don’t say that. W-When I heard you were missing, I - I thought you were dead. I thought - I thought I’d lost my chance to reconnect with you… I couldn’t deal with the thought of having to bury both of my grandsons...’
‘...I am sorry.’ Cyrus bowed his head.
Kazimir wiped his face, drying the tears and trying to pull himself back together. Damn it, he was going to have to work extra hard to make sure his grandson never felt he lacked support ever again. He was going to have to make up for his years of absence.
‘W-What happened after I was warded away?’ he softly asked, afraid of the answer. But he had to know. He needed to know everything that Cyrus had been through while his back was turned. No matter how much it hurt. ‘H-How did they treat you? Did - did they at least improve…?’
Cyrus let out a small scoff of derision.
‘Disowning you was the last straw. That was the push I needed to disavow emotion. If they were going to make it so that I had no support, I was going to make it so that I did not need support. My faith in them was shattered. Rightfully so, because no, they did not improve.’
Cyrus shook his head.
‘The best that I can say about them is that Olya remained stable in her grief, but Aleksandr grew worse. In spite of my attempts at numbing myself, there were still numerous arguments between us. They still brandished Nazar’s name like a weapon, beating me with vitriolic sentiments of failure every time I could not - or did not - become Nazar’s clone.’
‘...I tried calling when you turned eighteen, you know…’ Kazimir quietly told him. ‘Since they couldn’t legally stop us from reconnecting. Aleksandr said you were out.’
‘I probably was. I spent as much time as I could out. Just to be away from them.’ Cyrus hesitated; did he tell Kazimir about the worst of it? The absolute nadir of Aleksandr’s abusive behaviour?
No. Kazimir had been upset enough by the current conversation, there was no way he could make it worse. At least, that was what Cyrus told himself. But part of him had to wonder, was this avoidance really due to not wanting to further distress his grandfather? Or was he just looking at any excuse to not open up?
‘...I had thought about reaching out, when I left their house. And again, after Spear Pillar. And a third time after my hospital release.’
‘Hospital release?’ Kazimir repeated.
‘After Spear Pillar, the moment I left the Distortion World, it did not take long for people to notice, and to call the authorities. I was sectioned, and held in hospital for a few years. But before the authorities caught up with me, I considered contacting you. ...I don’t know why I did not reach out sooner,’ Cyrus explained. ‘Well. I know why I did not after Team Galactic. I thought that you would not want anything to do with me, after everything I had done -’
‘- You will always be my grandson,’ Kazimir firmly told him. ‘I don’t approve of your actions, but I understand the why. I understand that you’ve dealt with an incredible amount of suffering by yourself. I’ll admit, hearing some of these details hurts, but it’s nothing compared to what you must have gone through with nobody to ease your burden. But I won’t turn my back on you. Cyrus, I love you.’
Hearing those words, the sentiment that he had secretly craved for so long, caused Cyrus’ stoic demeanour to further crack. He had his teeth gritted, as he attempted to keep himself together. Kazimir noticed his shoulders hunch as the effort of repressing what was threatening to burst free made him tense even further. Kazimir lightly placed a hand on his grandson’s shoulder, causing him to jump.
‘Come here, Cyrus…’ Kazimir had his other arm extended, to offer a hug.
Cyrus finally turned his head to look at him, but made no move to embrace him. So Kazimir did it, instead. Cyrus was still stiff and unyielding, but Kazimir gently pulled him close. He clasped his hurting grandson to him, and unlike before, Cyrus did not need prompting to return the gesture. Wrapping his arms around Kazimir, and with nobody else to see his face, he finally broke down into a torrent of tears. Kazimir made sure not to do or say anything, not wanting to accidentally spook Cyrus back into closing off.
The pair remained as they were for what felt like an eternity, until Cyrus had cried himself out. Until his head throbbed, his eyes felt exhausted, and he thought there were no more tears left for him to shed.
‘Better?’ Kazimir softly asked. Cyrus pulled himself away, rubbing his forehead. He silently shrugged. Not really. But he allowed Kazimir to steer him back to the sofa, and the pair sat down together.
It seemed that neither of them had any more heavy, upsetting details to bring up, and had cautiously descended into small talk. Properly reconnecting, getting to know one another again. The repressed, depressed adult in front of Kazimir seemed so different from the grandson he remembered, but the more they talked, the more he saw hints of the Cyrus he knew before. Especially when they began discussing astronomy.
Though Cyrus reluctantly changed the subject after a few minutes. As much more comfortable it was to discuss small things, there was still one important thing left unsaid. Something that he vitally needed Kazimir’s approval of, if they were going to continue to stay in touch.
‘Cyrus?’ Kazimir asked, when he fell silent, frowning with concern.
‘...There is one last thing I need you to know,’ Cyrus cautiously began, closely studying Kazimir’s reaction. He swallowed hard. ‘...I… I have a boyfriend.’
‘Oh!’ Kazimir looked surprised, but fortunately, it did not bother him in the least. ‘I’m pleased for you.’
‘...Thank you.’
If Cyrus was entering the emotional minefield that was relationships, then, in Kazimir’s mind, that could only be a good thing. A sign of improvement. Ahh, but poor Cyrus looked so on edge, and Kazimir realised that he must have been anticipating a negative reaction.
‘Does he make you happy?’
Quite a big question. Honestly, the answer was no. But that was not because of Jaideep; Cyrus could not fault him as a partner. He was simply too far gone to experience genuine happiness.
‘...I cannot say that I have been happy since… well.’ Cyrus stopped. No need to go over all of that again. ‘But, he makes me “happy” in that sense that he makes me as close to it as I can possibly be.’
‘Good…’ Kazimir murmured. Not quite the response he had anticipated, but at least this man made Cyrus sort of happy? The clarification that Cyrus lived in misery hurt, though, and he swallowed a sudden spike of anger at his daughter, at his son in law, for being so cruel.
‘What’s his name?’
‘Jaideep Rose.’ Another look of surprise. ‘I live in Galar, these days.’ ‘That name sounds familiar… didn’t he get into a bit of, um, trouble in Galar…?’ Kazimir carefully asked.
‘Yes. It is a long story, and obviously not one he is comfortable discussing -’
‘- Oh goodness, no, that’s very understandable! I wasn’t sure if I was thinking of the right person,’ Kazimir hastily clarified.
‘That is partly how we got to grow so close. Having misguided attempts at improving things blow up in our faces, and living with the consequences. ...He’s a good person. Kind. Considerate. Patient.’
Unbeknownst to Cyrus, there was a slight softening to his tone as he talked about Jaideep, and Kazimir grinned brightly.
‘Could I meet him some time?’
‘I -’ Cyrus began, taken aback. ‘Maybe? Obviously, I will need to ask him first.’ ‘Naturally, naturally. If we’re going to stay in touch, why don’t we exchange phone numbers? Then, if your young man is willing, we could maybe arrange a get together,’ Kazimir suggested. A sense of embarrassment crept over Cyrus - or at least, that was what he thought it was - at the mention of Jaideep being his “young man”, but he ignored it. Kazimir accepted him, and seemed delighted for him. Coming out could not have gone better.
‘That sounds like a good idea.’

A song to heal a tired sould 9 (Raikichi x Piers)
Rated: Teen and Mature
Warnings: Bad language and NSFW
Note: Rakichi is around 25 years old
----------PART 9---------------------
“I still think that this isn’t a good idea, uncle”
“C’mon, Raikichi. I know you don’t trust him, but it’s better to have him under vigilance than having him as our enemy”
I sighed as I decided what clothes I should wear for the lunch we were going to have with Chairman Rose. When I arrived at home few hours ago after spending last night with Piers, my uncle explained that Chairman Rose wanted to offer me something, and since it looked important, I couldn’t say no, despite my total distrust on the man that confront Piers yesterday. With a sigh, I took a simple white dress and I went to the bathroom to prepare myself. Once I was done, I pulled my hair into a ponytail using a white flower adornment and then, I looked to my makeup kit. Glaceon tilted her head and when I was near to take the brush in order to cover my scars with makeup, she jumped onto the dressing table and closed the kit with her paw. “Hey!” I complained but she shook her head “Oh, c’mon, Glaceon” I sighed as I rolled my eyes, but she kept her paw on the kit. “Yeah, I know I should show the scars with pride but...I don’t know...” Glaceon made a sound that meant ‘You are a survivor, a hero, and the only who takes the risks to save people and Pokemon when they are in danger, so yes, show them’. I sighed again as I stood up in order to put a pair of white sandals on my feet and then, the rest of the accesories: the Dynamax band, the Z-Power Ring and my Keystone. Once I was ready, I took a white purse and a light blue jacket and I went to the living room where my uncle was dealing with my rebellious Galarian Zigzagoon.
“Raikichi, could you tell her not to bite the cushions?” he asked as he tried to pull her away from the cushions before cursing when she bite him “Ow!”
“Zigzagoon, don’t bite” I said as I took her on my arms “Sorry uncle, I caught her this morning but I don’t understand why she has done that”
“Galarian Zigzagoon are a bit more agressive than their Hoenn counterparts” he said treating the small wound on his arm
“But she didn’t bite me...Wait, maybe...I think that I know what’s happening”
“Then we should discuss that while we travel to Hulbury” my uncle said putting his jacket on. If it was weird to see Piers with different clothes than his uniform, seeing my uncle on a formal suit was...More weird?
I nodded and I returned Zigzagoon to her Dusk Ball and then, we exited the house, taking a Flying Taxi to Hulbury. During the flight, my uncle told me to relax, cause he noticed I was nervous. Easy to say, difficult to do. I sighed and when we exited the Flying Taxi once we arrived to Hulbury, I tried to calm myself down. “Come, the restaurant is on this way” my uncle said and I followed, with Glaceon at my side.The restaurant was very VERY luxury, and that was making things worst since the people that were inside looked so haughty and arrogant, something I noticed when I heard some of them speaking bad about me when the saw me.
“Uncle, why we have to be in this restaurant?” I asked in low voice “I don’t like this...”
“I didn’t choose it; it was Chairman Rose’s idea”
Now everything had sense. Chairman Rose was going to play on his battlefield. My uncle noticed that as well and he cursed to himself as we approached the table were Chairman Rose and a woman I’ve never met were waiting for us.
“Kabu, Raikichi, I’m glad you’re here” he said shaking our hands “Oh, Raikichi I want to present you Oleana. She’s my secretary and my second in command of all the companies I have in all Galar”
“So this is the World Champion? Chairmanm, if I can say this, I expected someone more...imposing” she said very derogatory. Oh, you wanted war, bitch? You would have war.
“And I expected Chairman Rose’s secretary not to be so...haughty and arrogant that only judges people by their appearences and not by their goals” I said with a challenging gaze directly to her “You’re not the only one who can play this game, Miss Oleana” Fuck you, bitch.
“How dare you...”
“Please, please, calm down” Chairman Rose said “Oleana, Raikichi has gathered a lot of sucesses since she became the World Champion, so there isn’t any need of speaking to her like that” Fuck you bitch. Again. I could see a little tic on her eyes as she was controlling herself. Two could play this game, and I wouldn’t let that haughty bitch to humillate me only because she was always after Chairman Rose. Maube her position had something related to her particular treatment to other people, but I wansn’t going to allow her to piss me off like that.
We sat down and we ordered the food; my Glaceon nuzzling my hand in order to comfort me. I smiled softly as I stroked her head while I heard the conversation until the waiters brought us the food. “So, Chairman” my uncle started “You said you had an offer”
“Oh, yes” he said “In some months the Gym Challenge will start and I was thinking on asking you, Raikichi, to have an exhibition match with Leon during the opening ceremony. Of course, only if you’re agree”
“That sounds...” I started before being interrupted by Oleana. Bitch.
“Excuse me, Chairman, but this girl is the last thing the League and the Gym Challenge need. Look at her; what people would think about her if they saw her againts our Champion and what they would say if she beats him? Maybe you are proud of those scars, but for me and I’m sure that for a lot of people here, those are the proof of you not having care and...”
“I had enough hearing all your shit” I said standing up
“Raikichi...” my uncle said, trying to calm me down
“I’m not going to stay here hearing her insulting me, and insulting all the things I did in order to protect people and Pokemon” I said very angry “Now, Oleana, go and face the dangers that I usually face and if you don’t die in the process, come and we’ll speak again. Maybe you’ll lost a leg, but hey, you don’t care. You only care of people having a pretty face. This is for you. Fuck you off and never try to speak to me like that until learning how to respect people.” I said taking my jacket and my purse “And I hope you don’t speak bad about my family, cause that would cross a line that you won’t be able to cross again. Good evening”
Ignoring my uncle calling me, I left the restaurant, Glaceon after me. I also ignored the Flying Taxi that was waiting outside. I needed to calm down and a walk would help me.
-----KABU’S POV--------
Seeing my niece that angry made my heart shrink with worry, but also, I was angry. Not at my niece; but at the woman that insulted her. Raikichi had faced multiple dangers that only someone with her title could deal; and I was sure that many regional Champions didn’t have the guts to face those dangers sometimes. Oleana didn’t understand that; she didn’t want to understand that, and all of that ended with my niece leaving the restaurant. When she was a child, I always cared of her despite not being in Sinnoh. When she won the Sinnoh Pokemon League and faced Cynthia in order to claim the World title, I was there to see my brave niece gathering her first big goal. And now, Oleana decided to insult my niece’s achievments.
“That was rude by your part, Oleana” I said, holding my anger inside me. It was weird to see me angry, but after seeing what happened between Raikichi and Oleana, it was difficult to control my anger “Raikichi put her life in danger many times in order to protect people and Pokemon”
“Then she was a fool doing that. There are more people that can do that”
“Would you have the enough courage to face the legendary Palkia and Dialga at the same time you have to stop a crazy man that wants to destroy the world using both legendary Pokemon? Would you have the enough courage to stop a man that wants to manipulate all the people and having them thinking and believing in his speechment? Would you have the enough courage to face a man that wants to use a destructive weapon to destroy everything?” I asked “Or what about helping a poor guy that was near of being killed by a Salazzle?”
“I heard that the boy was a grunt of something called Team Skull” Oleana said “If I was her, I wouldn’t save him”
“But she isn’t you and she didn’t care if the boy was or not from Team Skull. She cared for his life and she saved him” I said standing up “It’s clear that you should know people better before judging them” I added and then, I looked to the Chairman “If you excuse me, I have to find my niece”
Without letting them to say something, I took my jacket and I exited the restaurant as I heard Chairman Rose arguing with Oleana. With I sigh, I called my niece, but she didn’t answer the call. I tried two more times, and I got the same result, so I decided to give my niece her space and time to calm down. As I approached the Flying Taxi, I texted to her that I’ll be waiting at home and if she needed something, she only had to text me back. Then, I took the Flying Taxi back to Motostoke.
---------RAIKICHI’S POV----------------
Fuck that bitch. She really got me on my nerves with her haughty maneers and her way of talking to me like that. Holy Arceus. why people like HER has to exist?! I kept walking ignoring the little pain of my feet, Glaceon following me worried. “Fuck that bitch, ARGH, I REALLY HATE HER!” I yelled to the sky and then, I took a deep breath before exhaling all the air I took in that deep breath. Glaceon tilted her head and rubbed her fur onto my legs “Don’t worry, girl. I won’t let that bitch to treat me like that”
We kept walking until we arrived at Turffield and then, I got trapped into a bunch of fluffy Wooloos. Glaceon tried to sneak away, but a Wooloo got her up on his back. The Wooloos managed to make me fall to the ground and despite of getting my dress all dirty, I couldn’t help but laugh. They were so cute and fluffy. “Okay, okay, you’re tickling me!” I laughed
“Hey, Wooloos! C’mon, what are you-Don’t do that, you can hurt someone without intention!” I heard someone saying as they approached the bunch of Wooloos. I recognized that voice. It was Milo, the Grass Gym Leader from Turffield, and now he was making the Wooloos to disperse “Raikichi! Are you alright? I’m so sorry, I didn’t want the Wooloos to surround you” he said helping me to stand up.
“Yeah, I’m fine, don’t worry” I said removing the grass strands from by dress
“Your dress...”
“Oh” I said and then, I laughed “Don’t worry about the dress. In fact, I was going to take this out once I get home...By the way, do you need help in the farm?”
“Of course, but may I ask why? I don’t want to sound rude...But you look a bit exhausted” he said
“Nah, don’t worry. I ask cause I want to do something to distract myself” I replied “Let’s say that the lunch I was having with my uncle and with Chairman Rose didn’t end well and I need something to calm down before going back home, so if you don’t mind having me helping you...”
“Oh, then, c’mon” Milo said with a big smile on his face
We took the Wooloos back to their fenced and then, we went to see how the orchards were since soon it would be the harvest season. After two hours, we finally got the tasks done and I sat down on a trunk near the farm in order to take a breath after doing that amount of effort. “Here, take this” Milo said offering me a fresh lemonade that I took and drank half of it in one sip.
“Thank you” I said after giving a great sigh and savouring the lemonade
“You know, Piers was here few hours before you came here”
“Really?” I asked, blushing a bit and being glad that he didn’t notice it
“Yeah” he said after drinking a bit of his lemonade “He was searching for something and I helped him”
“And what was he was searching?”
“Well, he told me it was a surprise, and he told me not to tell anyone” Milo said “You know, he was always hiding his true self behind that cold mask, but since he knows you, he feels more comfortable showing his feelings”
“I see...” I murmured blushing again before shaking my head “Oh, I wanted to ask you a small favor”
“What is it?”
I let my Zigzagoon exit from her Pokeball and then, she quickly ran to try finding a battle with the Wooloos but Glaceon stopped her. “I caught her this morning and I think I did when she was ready to evolve, so I was thinking on having a battle with her and help her with that”
“Oh, then, follow me”
We went to a small battlefield near the farm. Milo told me he used that battlefield to train when he wasn’t in the Gym, and after taking our positions, he choosed his Eldegoss while I choosed Zigzagoon of course. The battle started, with Eldegoss showing his experience in battle and putting Zigzagoon in problems, but then, she showed me the moves she learnt, leaving both Milo and me with our mouths open when she used Ice Beam againts the Eldegoss and then, after many hits and many moves, she started to glow; she was evolving and I couldn’t be more happy than that moment; if my legs didn’t hurt a lot, I would been jumping of happiness. The glow dissapeared and Zigzagoon was now a Linoone, a Galarian Linoone.
“Look at you, girl! You’ve evolved!” I said as Linoone tacklehuged me and licked my face. Glaceon celebrated it too and I managed to get up again, both Glaceon and Linoone were rubbing their furs againts my skin “Thank you so much, Milo”
“Don’t worry, Raikichi. We’re friends and friends are there for helping each other” he said
“I should go back home now before my uncle decides to start a rescue if I don’t appear at home” I said with a yawn “I’ll come again to help you in order to return you the favor”
“You don’t have to, but if I see that I need help, I’ll tell you if you want to come”
I nodded and together with Glaceon and Linoone I mounted on the Flying Taxi that took me back to Motostoke. Once I arrived, I sighed and I made my way to my uncle’s house, only to be interrupted by a small bunch of people that were wearing similar clothes to the ones the furtives used. “Hehe, look what we found. The bitch that made our friends to end in jail” one of them said “Look at you, you look as the filthy bitch you are. You will pay for ruining our business” he said trying to grab my wrist but was interrupted by the Shadow Ball my Glaceon used against him “Your filthy Glaceon will pay for this” he groaned and commanded his Toxicroak to use Poison Jab againts her.
“Glaceon, dodge it!” I ordered and she did it, but then, another Toxicroak appeared and used Birck Break, hitting her on her back and throwing her away “Glaceon!!”
“Not so fast” the man said as he grabbed my wrist “You’re going to...Akh!”
Linoone had used Bite againts him and I got free and when his Toxicroak tried to use Poison Jab on her, she stopped the Pokemon using Thunderbolt. I had enough of this shit, but when I was going to command another move to Linoone, Glaceon jumped and now she was at her side, but poisoned, and using a Z Move with her in that condition wasn’t a good idea. “Glaceon, Linoone, use Ice Beam!!” I ordered and the furtive’s Pokemon were now frozen, but then I saw that there were two Thievuls coming for us. Glaceon was trying to keep up despite of the poisoning and Linoone didn’t recover all from her previous battle with Milo. With a curse, I cursed myself for not bringing more Pokemon with me, so I decided that the best was retiring, but I ended in the floor after being attacked by the Thievuls that used Dark Pulse, making also Glaceon and Linoone to end on the floor as well. Glaceon tried to keep fighting but I got her. I didn’t want her to get more hurted.
“Where is your strenght now, Champion?” the furtives said and laughed, insulting me and my Pokemon
But before I could reply, a Dark Pulse and a Flamethrower hit the Thievuls, throwing them to their trainers. “Raikichi!!” I heard my uncle saying as he approached me with Piers at his side.
“Hey, are you alright?” Piers asked kneeling at my side
“Yeah...But Glaceon and Linoone...”
“Piers, take my niece to my house” my uncle ordered as his Salazzle took position ready to battle
Piers nodded and after allowing his Obstagoon to take my Glaceon and my Linoone with him, I let my boyfriend to carry me on his back. Glaceon was shivering due the poison that was affecting her and I couldn’t help but feel guilty for that. “Babe, don’t cry, please” he said. Shit. I tried to hold my tears but it was impossible “I’m with you, and that’s all what matters, ‘kay?”
“Okay...” I said with a sob before seeing that we were entering in the Pokemon Center that was near my uncle’s house. Piers put me down and held me firmly as we approached Nurse Joy and let her take care of my Pokemon. While we waited, Piers held me close to him, waiting in silence as I let my tears away until I started to calm down “S-Sorry...I’m the worst trainer that...”
“Don’t continue that phrase, babe” Piers said stroking my cheek as he removed wipped the tears away
“But look how Glaceon and Linoone are! I should have been more careful and maybe that Toxicroak wouldn’t have hurted Glaceon and...”
Piers rolled his eyes before kissing me, interrupting my words. Luckily for us, no one saw that. When we broke the kiss to get some air, he leant his forehead againts mine before hugging me “They took you by surprise. You were tired, and when someone is tired or exhausted, their reflexes are less than when they are fine...So please, stop thinking that about you, babe.”
“I really had a bad day, and all of this shit started in that damn restaurant” I said
“Your uncle told me a bit of it, but if you want, you can tell me later once we’re in your home”
I nodded and when Nurse Joy called us, we went to the counter where Glaceon and Linoone were waiting, full recovered. With tears in my eyes, I hugged them and after thanking Nurse Joy, we went to my uncle’s home. Uncle Kabu wasn’t home, so I suppoused he was still dealing with the furtives. Glaceon and Linoone went to the living room and Piers let his Obstagoon out of his Pokeball to be with my Pokemon. I was so tired that my legs failed, but Piers was quick and held me at time.
“Easy there, babe” he said going to the bathroom with me “I’ll prepare you the bath. Where are your sleeping clothes?”
“Under the pillows of my bed” I said as I started undressing slowly, trying to ignore the pain of my body. Piers quickly went to my room and as fast as he went, he returned with my sleeping clothes. He put them on one of the bathroom cabinets before starting to fill the bathtub with warm water.
“Let me help ya” he said removing the ponytail and my accesories. He stroked gently my skin, checking the small bruises I got “They’ll pay for this”
“They will have enough with my uncle’s punishment” I said as I finished getting undress
“But they are the friends of the ones that tried to hrut you when you defended Linoone” Piers said stroking my cheek “They hurted you, someone really precious to me, and I’ll make them pay”
“Piers...I don’t want you to get in trouble...” I said trembling “I don’t want you to get hurt...”
He stayed silent for few minutes before hugging me. Then, he kissed me and helped me to enter in the bathtub. I sighed in relief when I felt the warm water relaxing my tired muscles, and I got even more relaxed when Piers started to massage my shoulders, his callouse hands working in the right spots. After that, he went to the living room in order to check if my uncle had returned, and then, he came back. “It looks like Kabu is still with them”
“I should have deal with them...”
“Raikichi, please, stop saying that” he said as I cleaned myself “You were exhausted, and you didn’t expect to be battling againts six people at the same time, so please, babe, don’t say that”
I looked at him and I sighed before nodding and smiling softly. I finished cleaning myself and when I was ready to get out of the bathtub, Piers helped me and then, he helped me to get dried and dressed. With care and with a strong I didn’t think he could have, he carried me in bridal style to the living room and put me in the couch. “I’ll prepare you some dinner, ‘kay?”
I nodded and got comfy in the couch, smiling softly when I saw Obstagoon playing nice with Linoone. Glaceon jumped next to me and curled, her head on my leg. “I’m glad both of you are feeling better” I said
Piers made a simple but delicous dinner and after that, we cuddled in the couch watching some films in the TV until I fall asleep on Pier’s arms.
-------PIERS’ POV------
I didn’t expect to find Raikichi fighting a bunch of furtives in the middle of Motostoke, but there she was, and she was dealing with the friends of the bastards that decided to hunt near Spikemuth. Now, we were at his uncle’s house, cuddling in the couch. Kabu told me to take care of Raikichi as he dealt with those criminals, and there I was, hugging my brave girlfriend as we watched some silly but in a way, good films until I heard a very very small snore. I looked at Raikichi and I discovered she had fallen asleep. I couldn’t blame her; she was exhausted after all the thing that happened with Oleana, the work she did in the farm helping Milo cause she needed to get distract and then, the fight with the furtives. How a girl like her could have that amount of energy? I shook my head and smiled as I stroked her back gently. I understood her; Oleana could be a bitch, and with me, she always showed that haughty face cause she didn’t consider me a good Gym Leader only cause I rejected to use Dynamax. Fuck that bullshit.
I sighed and then, I heard the main door opening; Kabu had returned home. He sounded tired. “Hey” I greeted him and he approached us “It took you too long deal with those bastards, didn’t it?”
“Yeah, but most of the time it was trying to avoid them to run away” he said with a sigh “How’s Raikichi?”
I pointed at her and he sighed in relief when he saw her sleeping. “We should take her to her room” he said and I nodded, being careful cause I didn’t want to wake up her and slowly, I went to her room and left her on the soft bed before covering her with the blankets. I smiled when I saw her hugging the Galarian Zigzagoon plushie I gave her.
“Piers?” Kabu called me and I went to the living room “Thank you”
“Don’t thank me. Ya know I’ll do everything for her”
“Then why you don’t stay tonight? She needs you after the hard day she had today...And don’t worry, I don’t mind if you sleep in her room. I trust you the enough to know you won’t do anything that would hurt her”
“I told you, I would never hurt her” I said and then, I yawned
“Go to sleep. Both you and Raikichi deserve a rest”
“The same for you” I replied and then, I went to Raikichi’s room. I closed the door behind me and I kicked my boots away. I removed also the ponytail and my trousers before laying down next to her under the covers. I smiled as I stroked her cheek gently before hugging her. That made her curl closer to me as I embraced her with my arms. Glaceon curled at our feet and quickly fall asleep, and I followed my girlfriend to the dream world minutes later.
-----RAIKICHI’S POV------
I woke up with the chirps of the Rockidee that were outside in the balcon of my room. Slowly, I opened my eyes and I smiled when I saw Piers sleeping next to me, with his arms around me. I closed my eyes again and I nuzzled his neck. He stayed, he could have gone to his house but he decided to stay here, with me...He really loved me, and he didn’t stop showing me how much he loved me. With a soft sigh, I tried to get back to sleep, but failed, and that made him chuckle a bit as he woke up.
“You stayed...” I murmured againts his neck
“Of course I did, babe” he replied stroking my hair “I stayed cause I wanted, and also, cause your uncle asked me to stay...”
“Thank you, Piers...”
He smiled and then I rose my head to kiss him. “You smell sweet...Vanilla?”
“I knew you would like it, so yes” Piers chuckled as he hugged me again
“What time is it?...Oh shit, I had to go to help my uncle at the Gym”
“Nope” he said wrapping his arms around me “Your uncle said that you have all this day free, and since I have my day free as well, I have plans”
“What plans?”
“Doing things with you and having a lovely meal at the evening” Piers said “What do ya think?”
“That sounds fine for me”
Piers smiled and then, he stood up and after putting his trousers on, he exited the room, leaving me blushing madly. After some minutes, he came back with a bag on his hands. “I texted Marnie to bring me some clean clothes” he said before taking my hand and pulling me gently to his arms “Let’s go to have a delicious breakfast and enjoy this day, ‘kay?”
“With you at my side? Of course, babe?” I said kissing him
After the breakfast and getting ready, we went to do some activities to have me distracted cause I couldn’t stop thinking on what happened last day. Piers told me that we were going to stay at night in Wyndon, so he helped me to prepare a small bag with some clothes and things and once we were ready, we took a Flyinf Taxi to Wyndon.
Wyndon was really REALLY big. I was amazed at all the things I was seeing. First we went to visit some boutiques and then, we tried the battle in the Battle Caffé in which we on, with a bit of difficult, but we won. We had lunch after that and then, we went to visit more places during the evening, including the galar Hurricane. The views from the cabinet when we were in the highest points were beautiful.
“You’re enjoying, aren’t you?” Piers said smiling soflty
“Yeah...I really appreciate all the effort you doing to cheer me up. It’s really working” I replied smiling as well
“Then we should get to the next part of this special day” he said as we exited the Hurricane and then, we went to a restaurant to have a romantic dinner. We talked about his ideas for the concert and he suggested me to do a contest performance in the middle of the concert. I wasn’t sure but I told him I would think about it.
After the dinner, we went to the The Rose of the Rondelands, one of the most expensive hotels in the all Galar, and knowing that Piers had booked one of the most expensive rooms of the hotel made me look at him with curiosity. “Leon’s idea.” he said as we entered in the room, closing the door behind us “He wanted to pay the room but I said no cause I could afford easily with the money of the concerts and the money I win being the Gym Leader” he added as he removed his ponytail and then, he unbuttoned his shirt before kissing me “Did I tell you how much I love you?”
“Yes...But I love hearing you saying that, babe...” I said as he removed my clothes slowly after , and then, I did the same with his clothes. Once we got naked, we sealed our lips in a tender but passionate kiss as we laid down in the bed. Piers kissed me gently as he stroked my sking gently as well. I moaned when his lips went to my neck.
“Babe, if you want me to stop, if you don’t want to do this, tell me, ‘kay? I don’t you to feel uncomfortable” he said
“I want this, Piers...I want you...” I said to his lips beofre kissing them
Piers kissed my lips once more before going down, kissing my skin until he reached my wet entrance. Slowly, he started to lick my clit as his fingers stroked my entrance before entering a finger inside, making me moan and arch my bacl as I pulled his hair away gently. He entered a second finger and then a third one and I started to see the stars. We’ve talked a bit about when we were going to have sex the first time, and we were agreed that this first time would be romantic, and if we wanted it rough, it would be another day.
“Ah...Ah...Damn, Piers, this is so fucking good...” I moaned as I arched my back more and then, I reached my orgasm as I moaned his name. Piers went up and kissed me making me taste myself on his lips “I...I want you, Piers...Inside me...”
Piers nodded and after taking a package, he took the condom from it and covered his hard lenght with it. Once his cock was covered by it, he lined himself with my entrance and pushed himself in slowly with a moan. Fuck, he was big, but not too big that could hurt me. His lenght was enough to fill me. “Can I move, babe?” he asked softly and when I nodded, he kissed me as he started to rock his hips softly. We both moan as I crossed my legs around his waist. Piers moved a bit faster as we moaned louder. “Fuck, babe, you’re so good” he groaned with a moan as he bite my neck softly “You’re so fucking good” as he moved a bit faster than before “My goddess...My muse...”
“Ah...Piers...You’re so fucking good too...” I moaned even louder as I reached my orgasm again, crying his name as I moaned. Piers kept rocked his hips until he reached the climax as well. Both of us panted, trying to recover our breath. Once we recover our breath, Piers pulled out of me and after covering the condom with tissues and throwing it to the trash bin, he returned to bed with something on his hand. With his free hand he covered us with the blankets and I curled next to him. Then, I heard a noise coming from my belt and Glaceon exited from her Pokeball, and when she jumped onto the bed, she gave me the look that meant ‘I was tired of being in my Pokeball so I decided to get out sin you had finished your stuff’. I chuckled as I traced circles on my boyfriend’s chest with my fingers until he gave me a box. “For you, babe”
“What’s this?” I asked opening the box and taking out of it a Love Ball. I looked at him and then, I moved it and a Pokemon went out of it. I blinked twice until I realized that it was an Applin that after noticing me, went to nuzzle me before greeting Glaceon. “It’s so cute...Thank you, Piers”
“Here in Galar we have the tradition of giving an Applin to the person we want to confess our love or to the one that we actually love and we want to show them how much we love them”
“So that’s why you went to Turffield and asked Milo for help?” I said and he nodded before chuckling as I hugged him tightly “I really love this, Piers. I’m...I’m without words right now but...Oh, Piers, I love you, I love you so much. Thank you, thank you” I said kissing his face a lot before kissing his lips
“I love you too, babe” he said kissing me back before laughing when Glaceon sighed and curled herself to get some sleep. Then, he looked at me when I yawned, so he allowed me to lean my head on his chest “Did you enjoy this day?”
“Of course I did, babe...” I said closing my eyes, tangling my legs with his as I laced my fingers with his
“Sleep well, my lovely muse...” he whispered before kissing my temple and bthen, he closed his eyes as well “I love you...”
“Love you too...” I whispered before I fell aslee, quickly followed by Piers.

Video Games of my Childhood Part 1
Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/Black/White/Ranger/Mystery Dungeon/Emerald/Ruby/Conquest/Soul Silver
My absolute favourite one was Diamond. I remember when I was 7 years old and I got the game when I was on my way to my holiday to Bulgaria. I chose Turtwig as my starter and since I have only ever chosen that Pokemon in my 4th gen games. I was young and dumb so I only used Turtwig and my Starly the whole way through the game until I took the effort to train a Shinx and use the Dialga that I caught with a master ball.
Ruby was handed to me from one of my sister’s boyfriends because he didn't want it anymore. I was smarter with Pokemon by then and used a full team of six. Mudkip was my starter, then I caught a Poochyena, a Skitty, a Makuhita that I never evolved, a Swablu, and a Tropius. They were a fun team to use.
Black came out when I was 10 years old and I chose Snivy. I used Snivy, Minccino, Woobat, Blitzle and Ducklett mainly, obviously evolving them all.
Of course I love every single Pokemon game ever, but these three have a bigger place in my heart as I really grew up with them.

Ch.1, Part 5: Encounter
My Heroic Pokemon Squad (A Pokemon/My Hero Academia Crossover)
Summary:
After receiving an emergency call to assist in sedating the legendary pokémon of time and space, Top Ranger (Y/n) (L/n) gets caught in the crossfire of their rampage. Sent barreling into a world unknown, (L/n) must now navigate her new surroundings and somehow find a way home. Yet, the aftermath of a momentary rift between dimensions carries drastic repercussions, especially considering that pokémon had never existed in this place to begin with. Not only that, but it seems humanity here have powers of their own, not unlike that of the creatures she has grown to love.
A small mouse creature of orange and gold is released from the ball. Beady blue eyes take in the surrounding area before regarding Lugia directly in front of her. Letting out a squeak of recognition, the mouse pokémon kicks up her large lightning-shaped tail so it hovers above ground. Raichu jumps to place herself on top of her tail and assumes a surfer’s stance. Small sparks bounce from her cheeks as she releases a determined battle cry. Lugia follows suit with one of their own.
“Alright, Raichu. Give yourself a boost with Electric Terrain.”
The pokémon’s sparking increases. The electric-psychic type builds up her electricity and scatters it, super-charging the atmosphere. The change is sharp and invigorating as a faint yellow color tints the city street. The storm begins to crackle. (Y/n) takes notice that the storm clouds gradually get darker.
Perfect.
They’re at the homestretch. Though, her turn was finished and Lugia makes their move. Gathering the copious amount of the rainstorm, the legendary pokémon concentrates the water and applies pressure to the mass. Moments later the bubble bursts. Water jets like a pressure washer slamming into Raichu. The blast from Lugia’s Hydro Pump momentarily obscures the young ranger’s vision. Having lost sight of her mouse partner, the (Y/n) calls out to Raichu. After the attack had calmed, Raichu could be seen steadying herself on her tail. Shaking of the shock from such a strong impact, the pokémon quickly recovers shaking out her fur as much as she could despite the continuous downpour. Sparks reclaim their spots on the electric-psychic’s yellow cheeks—bigger and bolder with the assistance of Electric Terrain. It’s time to end this once and for all.
“Give it all you’ve got and use Thunder!”
The bright glow of electricity grows exponentially larger as it travels along Raichu’s body. From head to tail the power is stored and the electric mouse shoots a beam upwards and into the raging storm. The thunderclouds boom and get the darkest that (Y/n) had ever seen. Mere seconds felt like minutes in anticipation, then it happened. A hefty bolt to lightning strikes down, landing an impact on the legendary pokémon leaving a blinding flash in its wake. The thunderclap that follows is deafening, the ranger almost couldn’t hear the roar of agony Lugia had let loose. The attack was super-effective! Static leaves the large creature convulsing, the restriction of its wings forces them to the ground. The rumbling of concrete from the fall cause everyone around them to brace their stability.
At last, Lugia was down for the count. Lying on the pavement with swirls in its eyes, the legendary pokémon let out a weak groan of both pain and defeat. It was unable to battle anymore. Raichu along with Carracosta and Honchkrow who were stationed on the sidelines let out cheers for the victory. Meanwhile, (Y/n) had moved to rummaging in her bag for healing items.
“Honchkrow. Do us all a favor and use Sunny Day,”
The black bird hears his trainer loud and clear. With a summoning caw and the hefty flap of his wings the storm gradually dies down. The wet streets were no longer met with the consistent downpour of rain and the heavy clouds subside. The young ranger shivers at the feeling of her wet clothes weighing on her body. Even after all the excursions she’s taken part in, heavy rain is something she never got around to getting accustomed to. The electric terrain disperses soon afterward.
Grabbing some berries and potions (Y/n) moves to help Lugia. Though, before the girl could get any closer to the defeated pokémon, she is abruptly stopped. Releasing a yelp at her abrupt immobilization, (Y/n) swiftly looks down to see sturdy cloth blinding her by the waist. She looks back to see the man—Eraserhead—on the other end.
“What’re you doing?”
“W-well. I’m going to help Lugia…”
“Lugia, huh? Just what is your deal? You barge into a fight claiming that you know what these creatures are and succeed in taking one down—with other creatures that work with you. Are they yours? Did you know that this Lugia would be here?”
(Y/n)’s lips press into a thin line. Couldn’t the questioning wait for a few more minutes? Noise of protest come from the pokémon by her side, their attitudes soured by the man’s adversity. Thankfully, they don’t make any move to attack, but there’s no deny they would be ready if need be.
“These three are mine, but the Lugia is not. And no, I didn’t know it’d be here.” (E/c) eyes scan over the heroes before her. Despite her nervousness, she casts a determined look.
“I don’t mind answering whatever questions you may have, but now is not the right time or place.” Her gaze averts to the defeated diving pokémon. It seemed that the initial pain of electricity they were dealt was gone. Yet, it remained lying there with a saddened twinge in its eyes. (Y/n) could empathize. Those eyes embodied the emotions of loss and exhaustion—the result of being in a new and unfamiliar place with no place to go. Maybe that’s why such a rare and noble pokémon like Lugia had been roaming city streets.
“The portals Dialga and Palkia made. The pokémon and I were sent here…” Her attention returned to the pro-heroes of whom looked both confounded and confused.
“Perhaps Lugia is lost. After all, its been almost three days…They’re probably searching for a home since they had basically been removed from the one they had before.” It was clear that the young girl wasn’t only talking about the legendary creature. She failed to take notice of the tears that ran down her face until she felt Raichu wiping at them. Her faces scrunches as she turns away. Any person caught in her predicament would be afraid, yet the Top Ranger still felt shame to be seen crying regardless.
“I need to make sure Lugia recovers. So please…” (Y/n) may not have been looking, but she could feel their eyes boring into her figure. These “pokémon” could pose a potential threat if their encounter with Lugia was anything to go by. So were they really going to risk the chance of more catastrophe if the creature were to antagonize once more? Nobody could seem to make up their mind, so Midnight decides to take one for the team.
“We’ll release you on the condition that we supervise.” Kamui, Eraser, and Gang look at the woman like she had grown two heads. She shrugs.
“The kid seems to know what she’s doing, and we can’t just leave the creature there. Plus, this’ll be a good opportunity to know what we’re dealing with.”
Izuku Midoriya had been the last to return to Heights Alliance. After all that had happened recently with the brawl between All-Might and All for One, the villain was finally apprehended and in Tartarus prison. Though, the equivalent exchange to this blessing was that the former #1 hadn’t come out unscathed in the end. Using the remaining power he had, All-Might’s time with the quirk One For All had come to a close. So, as the successor to that power, Midoriya worked to fortify the quirk that he and so many holds dear. Unfortunately, only a select few knew of this status, and is often relegated to training either on his own or one-on-one with the former hero.
The green haired teen was ready to call it a day, but seeing his classmates awake and lively immediately grabs his attention. It’s pretty late, most people would be laying in their rooms right about now. Not today, apparently.
Ochako and Todoroki are the first ones to notice him enter. The brunette waves him over to join while the dual-quirked student nods his head in greeting. Izuku places himself between the two as he surmises Mina, Denki, and Momo with phones in hand scrolling through a multitude of photos and videos showing unfamiliar creatures. His features brighten a bit. Those were the “quirked creatures” everyone had been talking about! Ever since they popped up all around the world, it was a topic that arose in conversations despite the fact that it’s only been almost 3 days since their arrival. There was quite a lot to be worried about concerning these animals having quirks, but Midoriya could not deny that he was also interested…maybe a little too interested.
“Oh, hey Midoriya! Come closer and check these babies out,” Mina practically shoves her phone in his face. Nevertheless, his gaze washes over the picture of a blue bipedal fox-creature caught in the action of punching a boulder, the sedimentary nearly rubble in the midst of the creature’s strength. Smaller versions of the larger blue fox stood off to the side watching in admiration of the strength they demonstrated. Midoriya couldn't help but share the same sentiment as the little ones.
Oh yeah. If these creatures are as powerful as they appear to be, Midoriya will have a lot more to mumble about.

Kissed by the Baddest Trainer! [KBTBB Pokemon!AU]
(Based off a lot of @maidofstars’ and @catchthespade’s posts. Just a warning, I will be jumping back and forth in time. I'll denote that when it happens.)
MEETINGS OF FATE PART 3
Soryu scribbles away on some papers and scans some reports when he hears panicked feet. Four pairs of them. He glances at Beartic, who had been helping by moving some of the taller stacks of reports, who sends back a look that he understands. Soryu already knows that he's shy a Poké Ball and he needs to catch another one. Fast. The door bangs open seconds later. "Boss! Did you loose a Poké Ball," Ryusuke worries while his Poocheyna whimpers. "Did anyone steal it sir," Samejima asks as his Pawniard balances the tray of Poké Balls. "No," Soryu responds with a leveled tone. "It got handed to someone who can use it more." "But Boss you just caught Deino," Ryosuke complains. "Why did you give it away? You don't do this," Samejima notes. Soryu takes a deep sigh and explains to them why he handed that Poké Ball away. ~Five Days Ago~ Soryu mumbles under his breath, thinking. Breeding Pokémon isn't easy and getting a legendary to work with them can mean bigger trouble. When one of his men put the suggestion of using a DNA splicer, Soryu shots it down fast. That is not a way to create the ultimate pseudo-legendary to accomplish what his grandfather had in mind. But now he has to devote his resources into stopping the poachers and hunters, including tracking down Magikarp sellers. The las one was a curtesy info from Eisuke. A series of loud shouts and hard vibrations moves his focus to a scene he'd never imagine. A young girl with a small Pokémon fighting a poacher with a Pokémon almost five times the size of the girl's. Soryu whips his Pokédex out and points it to the girl's Pokémon. He already knows what Pokémon the poacher is using. The Xatu obviously is going to be stronger than whatever the girl has. When he sees that it's a Normal type, he can't help but feel worry. Normal types aren't resilient to any types and can easily get clobbered by a Fighting type. Soryu makes a quick run of his Pokémon on hand that will work with the Minccino. His usual Beartic? Nope. The bear would scare the little Pokémon off. Gallade? Oh wait a second that won't do. Gallade would only make it a standstill as he is a Psychic/Fighting type. Salamence? Not a good idea. Many Pokémon tend to run from him and his goal is to help the girl. Axew? Not gonna happen. His Axew is still a bit battle skittish. Snorunt? Scratch that! That one is a recent addition to his team. Deino? Perfect. Deino is twice the size of Minccino and knows the attack Dragon Rage. He reaches for the Poké Ball. "Deino, go," Soryu orders. "Aim at Xatu! Use Tackle then Dragon Rage!" "Deino! Dein Dein Dein Dein Deino," the little Pokémon yells as it darts from the underbrush full speed at the Psychic/Flying Pokémon. Bull's eye! Deino hits Xatu right in the midsection. The cry of shock from the poacher is worth it. "Minccino Tickle its head," he hears the girl shout. "Min... CCINO," the little Pokémon cries out while jumping onto the Xatu's head. Soryu watches in amazement as the little tail quickly moves on the head causing it to not only laugh but also sit down! Thankfully the Minccino escapes before Deino fires Dragon Rage. That manages to weaken Xatu but he is surprised at the girl's next order. "Minccino Sing!" "Min~ ccino~" Soryu whistles so that Deino can get out of range. He knows that Sing puts any listening Pokémon to sleep. He notices that the girl has some level of relief that Deino has gone out of hearing range. "Deino, retreat," Soryu whispers as he recalls the Irate Pokémon. "Now use Slam!" "minCCINO!" Now Soryu cannot stop the stunned look on his face. The force behind that Slam is amazing... and it was enough to knock the poacher's Xatu out cold. "You'll pay for this brat," the man snarls as he retreats with his injured Pokémon back in its Poké Ball. "Nice work Minccino~" the girl laughs. "Minccino," the Chinchilla Pokémon laughs. Time to make an entrance. He's not Eisuke but Soryu knows how to do it his way. As he strides out from his hiding spot, he observes that the girl realizes who he is. He's not too surprised at all. The KR logo on his belt aren't that hard to miss. "An impressive Pokémon," he comments and begins petting the Minccino. The Minccino freezes for a few seconds before happily rubbing itself into his gesture. He watches the girl from a corner of his eye. She seems confused. He had no idea that his scary outlook being suddenly countered by him petting her Minccino like it's not a problem is causing it. "Min~ Min~ Minccino~," it chirps with happiness. Soryu stops and looks at the girl. "You, what's your name," he questions. The Minccino deflates from the lack of attention and scampers back to the girl, hopping onto her shoulder. The girl blinks a few times before nodding. "My name is ___," she replies in a gentle yet trembling voice. "What's your's? Are... are you associated with Team KōriRyu?" Sharp girl... Soryu will have to give her credit for that. "Soryu. I'm the leader of the team. We currently have changed the direction of our goal. The poachers are our new focus now," he replies in a serious tone. "It was a brave but foolish thing that you did when fighting that poacher. Why did you battle with your Minccino?" "Minccino is the only Pokémon I have on hand who can really fight," ___ sighs while the Minccino makes a few cute poses. /This isn't good if she only has one Pokémon who is able to fight,/ Soryu frowns in his mind. /Wait a minute. That's it./ He pulls out a Poké Ball from his belt with a small smile. "Then take this Pokémon for future battles with poachers," he suggests. "Deino, go!" He watches as the Deino gets all friendly with ___ and Minccino. ~Present~ "Wow... she sounds so cool," Ryosuke admires. "Going in with just her Minccino... I wonder when I'll get to meet her..." "I doubt you will at this point since we are all working still," Samejima points out. "Like you have room to talk," Ryosuke challenges. "You've been busy and worried since you saw that missing Poké Ball!" "Not as busy as you taking care of the Pokémon. Your cooking is terrible," Samejima snarls. "ENOUGH," Soryu roars with his Beartic. Both subordinates' Pokémon were snarling at the other while their trainers argue. All of them stop. Soryu knows that this is normal to them but right now is not the time. "Inui, look into these areas with a few squads and report to me within an hour," Soryu orders as he hands Ryosuke a paper with the locations. "Yes sir," Ryosuke nods and exits with Poocheyna behind him. "Samejima, take these locations and do the same," Soryu orders the other with another list. "Yes sir," Samejima acknowledges then sprints off with Pawniard at his side. Once his office is quiet again, Soryu lets out a sigh. The issue of the illegal movement of Pokémon is now picking up in popularity due to Ota's and Eisuke's influence as top coordinator and CEO respectively. Even that detective they had manage to keep quiet about them is working on it instead of chasing his team and Baba. He runs a hand through his hair and sighs again. "I'm sorry grandfather," he whispers. "I can't accomplish that dream until we solve the problem with the illegal killing and selling of Pokémon." ~*~ Baba watches ___ from his view on Swanna's back. He slips his mask back on as he observes her pedaling her way to a gym. He was for sure a goner had she makes him a promise for helping him in trade for keeping his identity a secret. To the rest of the world, he's not Mitsunari Baba but Lupin the masked Pokémon Thief. He fingers the Lustrous Orb hidden in a satchel that is suppose to head to a lab for safe keeping. He chuckles at the memory of meeting her. ~Six Days Ago~ Baba tiptoes past a few security measures inside a museum to where the Adamant Orb rests in its display case. According to the rumors he heard and his information network, the Orb had been wrongfully stolen from its resting place and passed down as an heirloom-like object in the family who stole it originally. The Ueta family had nothing to say about it other than it's passed down from father to son but withheld if a daughter is born. But Baba knows that the family also specializes in Steel Type Pokémon and uses the Orb as a cheating boost. That is the explanation to how the Ueta family is able to keep their iron fist on the city. He needs to get it out now! He sees Zoroark posing the day guard next to the case. He was almost to the case when some soft feet moves towards him. He pauses to take his mask off in order to not be Lupin but he wasn't ready for the reaction. "Who are you," he hears a gentle whisper. Baba turns to see a young woman with the cutest Minccino on her shoulder. Then her eyes widen and Baba raises a finger to his lips to indicate that she should be quiet. She recognizes him and he then remembers where he sees her before. Without his mask at a small cafe a few hours prior when he was scouting. Oops on his part. "Please don't tell anyone," he whispers his request. "I'll explain if you help me out." "How," she worries. Baba gestures that she acts like she didn't see anything while he takes the Orb. She nods with apparent reluctance then goes to study a map in an adjacent room. He swipes it without a problem and puts a fake one into place before leaving with Zoroark, who changes into a Liepard, to get the young woman's attention. He recalls her name but pretends not to know her "Hey pretty lady," he laughs in greeting. "Shall we go to a cafe for a bit?" ___ pauses then nods with a forced fake smile and leaves with him. Once they reach a few streets and an alley away from the museum, that Baba tells her what he is doing. "That Adamant Orb had been stollen long ago," he tells in a serious tone. "The family who owns the gym refuses to acknowledge that it belongs to the legendary Pokémon Dialga. If used with the Lustrous Orb and three legendary Pokémon, Dialga and Palkia will appear and lead to more trouble than one can imagine. If on its own, the Orb can augment the strength of Dragon and Steele Types. Are you going to battle the Ueta family for the Metallica Badge?" "Yes. Even if it's just me and my three Pokémon, I believe in us and we can make it," ___ answers with a determined expression. "Alright. But be careful. The family specializes with Steel types," he warns. "Then shouldn't you be going too," ___ worries. "If what you say is true about the Orb then when they find out it's not the real one, it will be trouble!" Baba nods, "Then find another town to challenge their gym. If the Ueta family finds out while they are battling you that the Orb is gone, you'll be in trouble as well princess." ~Present~ Baba smiles as he guides Swanna to take him to Luke's lab. The Adamant Orb is already safe someplace inside the professor's house... or was it his clinic... Baba can't be too sure as Swanna flies to the Foster residence. He knows from his information network that the Foster siblings have many passageways and secret spaces between their living areas. Baba can't help the frown on his face at that last thought. It was as far as his information network can get when it comes to the two siblings. He has no idea about the blueprint to the houses or much about the siblings other than what is already known. "I hope Lu doesn't ask me to steal a fossil from someplace... and why doesn't Iris never pay attention to me," he frowns. Little did he know that his arrival is already anticipated, curtesy of Iris' Gothitelle.
Author's Note: Hopefully I can wrap "Meetings of Fate" in one to two more parts... I'd like to get into the fun details of contests and battles. I had to research Japanese last names and make up the town for this story. I am not familiar with Japan's setup as I am with America's so I can't really do the same thing as an address here or a city. But then again... Pokémon is basically an almost parallel world to ours.

Diamond Days
So here I am. At the top of Mt. Coronet, about to save the world.
First, I battle Commanders Mars and Jupiter with the help of Barry. Barry’s team isn’t quite up to snuff, so I mostly have to handle the double battle as his team keeps fainting. Fortunately, he heals my Pokemon for me after the battle, which is much appreciated. I then face Cyrus for the last time, and defeat him. Now to the actual challenge.
Dialga
I heal my Pokemon again and put NeoCleo up front. Spark won’t do too much damage since Dialga resists electricity, so I have a good number of chances to paralyze the legend. However, Dialga actually gets paralyzed on the first try. My luck then evens out when Dialga uses Ancient Power, dealing decent damage to NeoCleo, and then receiving the one out of ten chance to raise all of its stats by one stage. I attempt to use X Special Defense to toughen up NeoCleo, but Dialga Roar of Time ability does not care. Cleo faints. I decide to send Trinido in and use the time Dialga takes to recharge to use a max revive on NeoCleo. It is now a game of whittling down Dialga’s HP to the red. In the process, NeoCleo faints again and Trinido faints twice. I then send Cyber in and start throwing ultra balls. And this is when Dialga’s paralysis actually gets me a few extra turns. Eventually, Dialga stays in the ball. I have now caught the legendary Pokemon of Time.
Professor Rowan and Lucas congratulate me, and I now make my way to Sunyshore City. However, on the route right before the entrance, I decide to train all of my Pokemon. NeoCleo has now outpaced all of them considerably, and I want the other to catch up. I train them all until they are all at least level 50.
I then go challenge the electric gym. Drakanyon blazes through everyone before Volkner. Several levels above the competition using STAB-soft sand enhanced-Earthquake will do that. I then pop an ether and a super potion on Drakanyon and challenge Volkner, who I expected to be an easy opponent.
I expected wrong.
Everything starts off well when Drakanyon OHKO’s Volkner’s first Pokemon, Raichu. However, he then sends out an Octillery, which is weird. I decide to use sandstorm to raise Drakanyon’s evasion in hopes of dodging whatever Octillery is going to do. It apparently uses aurora beam, which is double super effective. And it doesn’t miss. This takes Drakanyon down to about a quarter of health. I grit my teeth and hope Earthquake beats Octillery before Octillery knocks out Drakanyon. Earthquake goes off and gets the Octillery down to just a sliver of health. Octillery uses aurora beam again and Drakanyon faints. Fortunately, the sandstorm finishes off the Octillery, so no one else has to deal with that. I send out Trinido, who also knows earthquake. He beats Volkner’s Luxray, and he then sends out Ambipom. I get worried at another non-electric pokemon, but Ambipom just uses agility and then gets OHKO’d by earthquake.
And that’s how I get the Beacon Badge!

In which the dusknoir is taken around town
First [ARC 1]: In which the human is transformed First [ARC 2]: In which a present is prepared Next: Intermission Previous: In which the dusknoir is met
Dusknoir had never quite expected to see the sun, or experience other leisure of the past. He had always been aware that for his master, Primal Dialga, to thrive, that the dark future was required. It made sense anyway; what Master Dialga said had to be law, as they knew best. They would fix things in the dark future, even if it had to stay dark.
Being here in the past now, made all that strange. The world was suddenly full of many simply beauties that deep down he longed to explore more, but he couldn’t help but wonder if this was really right.
Regardless, he was here, and he would get answers soon. In the meantime, it was fascinating to learn more about what he could experience now, including the other pokemon in it. Somehow, that obnoxious time travelling trio had built more friendships, though in hindsight, it probably shouldn’t have been so surprising, and each new pokemon was almost more interesting than the last.
Right away, Dusknoir was curious about the situation with that human, Nelvana. It didn’t take long for it to come out that she was, in fact, the cubone he had glimpsed fall behind the island table and then hurry up the stairs. He managed to learn that she had amnesia, but despite that still made the same choses and acted similarly to before; which, in a way, Dusknoir found odd. Apparently, Gardevoir had been involved in both the transformation and the amnesia, but past the fact that she had been able to do that because of a ninetales, he didn’t get much out of her. Strangely enough, even Gardevoir didn’t seem to have all the details on the situation.
Either way, he didn’t have much more than the word of the others in the household. Somehow, she had found a way to never be caught in the same room as him, even when he thought there would be no way for her to noticeably run off. In fact, just when he thought he had cornered her in the living room so that he could try speaking to her, it felt like he had just blinked and she was gone, despite literally being in a corner before he even tried entering the room in the first place.
Aside from that, most of the new pokemon seemed to try treating him with respect, but still otherwise kept their guards up. Evidently, that grovyle had been catching them up on all of his crimes. Sometimes Dusknoir wanted to laugh at that thought; he was doing his job, it was what was right.
One pokemon though, was especially new to him. He had glimpsed her the first night as well for a moment, but she hadn’t even lingered for a moment before going back upstairs; of which he still hadn’t seen yet, though he wanted to. It took awhile, but she finally showed herself to him. He learned that her name was Tsuki, and that her species was an absol.
“Ah… I see, an absol. That would explain it,” Dusknoir murmured, looking over the long-furred quadruped that stood uncomfortably in front of him.
“Explain what, if I may ask?” Tsuki questioned, wincing for a moment but holding her composure.
“Why I hadn’t recognized your species before,” Dusknoir answered immediately, “I have only heard of absols in passing before; I believe that they went extinct in the future.”
“Extinct?” Tsuki repeated, looking at Ceebee, who also was in the room for this introduction.
Ceebee nodded sadly, “yes… I believe that the others hadn’t brought it up before since they weren’t certain, and probably Keahi explained absols well enough to them…” she murmured, “but, in the dead timeline, many absols could not handle the constant disaster. Many went mad, and most ended up disappearing either into the dungeons or from the world entirely.”
Tsuki merely hummed in response, accepting what sense that answer made. Exhaling and shaking her head, she made her way over to the door.
“Well, at least that is not the case now,” she mumbled, “anyway, it was nice to meet you, but I must be going now,” she continued.
As Dusknoir would later learn, he apparently gave the absol headaches because he “carried disaster”, which, to him, didn’t make terribly much sense, but he had also picked up that Edgar could sense that he had killed others before, so he supposed she too could pick up on that.
For his first day with this rescue team, Team Galaxy, he reminded himself, he had practically been locked in the house, stuck on the main floor still even when no one else was up there, until everyone else could “figure this out”. Evidently though, they realized it would be ridiculous to try keeping him inside for too long, and Keahi decided to take it upon zirself to show him around Pokemon Square.
Pokemon Square was a loud and bustling town, with townsfolk who were cheery and loud. They were all fairly friendly, though evidently intimidated by Dusknoir’s appearance, which he didn’t mind. He did his best to come off as polite and respectful, noting the importance of keeping his relationships here positive. Though, deep down, he found most of them too cheery and loud. He wondered if they had ever dealt with someone troublesome before. They acted as if nothing would ever go wrong, he found.
Regardless, it was still interesting to him to meet all these pokemon. He had never met so many others at once that responded to him with such friendliness, and despite his mild annoyance at this naivety, it was still nice, in a way. The two kecleon brothers running a shop were polite, but he could tell that they were shrewd salesmen; that put them higher on his enjoyment list. Persian was the other who he actually considered to not be annoying. She spoke of Edgar fondly, but otherwise was actually a bit snappy and protective over her business. Otherwise, there was Kangaskhan, who Dusknoir felt came off as too sweet; Lombre, Snubbull, and Bellsprout, who Dusknoir figured only ever shared a single thought between them at a time; Whiscash, who astonished Dusknoir at being still around, at his age and forgetfulness; Spinda and Gulpin, who Dusknoir just found plain annoying; and Makuhita as the only other notable one, who Dusknoir found was far too lenient with his business. There were, of course, others around town, but he hadn’t gotten much of a chance to meet them yet, though grouped most of them under the same general category of “cheerful and loud” that he was gathering.
It was fascinating how much pokemon in the past let their guards down around others. Part of him wondered how quickly he would get caught if he actually did do something, but he knew better than to do that. There was no point aside from curiosity, and that wasn’t nearly enough motivation, especially with how he understood the grave consequences of such curiosity here.
Keahi led him off eastwards, the sounds of chatter from the town fading as they headed further away from town, being replaced with the noises of something pounding on the cliffs that came into view. As the smell of the ocean hit Dusknoir’s senses, he realized that that unfamiliar noise was water crashing onto the rocks.
“Did you like the townsfolk?” Keahi asked hesitantly, zir voice pulling Dusknoir back away from the sound of ocean.
“Yes,” Dusknoir lied, because for as interesting as they were, he still found most of them annoying; not that he was going to admit that, he needed to be more well-liked around here.
Keahi frowned, making Dusknoir pause. He had always thought of himself as a good liar, not that he actually found himself lying that often, so how…
“Look, my partner wears a skull over her face. I’ve learned to keep an eye out for body language and tone of voice more than facial expressions,” Keahi told him with a sigh, answering his unsaid question. “I’d rather not be lied to. Why don’t you like them?”
Dusknoir made a mental note not to underestimate the other pokemon on Team Galaxy. Clearly, his old foes had done well picking other teammates. They weren’t like the citizens of Pokemon Square he had just met.
“I am simply not used to them yet,” Dusknoir responded, “such volume and blind positivity was not seen often in the future,” he added.
“Alright, yeah… Nel took awhile to get used to the noise too, I can only assume so did Alex when he first got here. Ceebee too, but she did get used to it pretty quickly,” Keahi hummed, zir gaze drifting off to gaze at a large board with papers attached to it. “This is the mission board. Pokemon needing help will post requests up there, and rescue teams will take them and complete them. Though, since the meteor was destroyed, there have been a lot fewer missions!” zir explained, “and over there is the Pelipper Post Office. We won’t go there today, but if we had a letter to send somewhere, we would give it to the workers there.”
“I see…” Dusknoir murmured, eyeing the board and then the building by the cliff as Keahi mentioned them. “Is that it, then?” he asked.
“Yeah, that’s most of the town!” Keahi answered, “I think I’m going to check out how the others are doing at the dojo, you can go back to the house if you’d like-“
“Actually,” Dusknoir interrupted, “I think that I would like to go there as well, if that is no trouble to you.”
Keahi blinked, but then after a moment’s thought, slowly nodded, “okay. We don’t want to really disturb them though, they’re probably busy.”
Earlier that day, Alex decided to take some of the others on a training session. With the impending idea of another adventure to fix the world’s balance looming over them, he wanted to see about touching up some moves and battle techniques. He had the idea of doing this with Edgar in particular, who didn’t know many actual attacking moves. Tsuki came with him, and so did Damien; who was finally beginning to run low on chores to do around town. They planned on working in the dojo, while Ceebee took Gardevoir and Nelvana out to train a bit while Keahi started zir tour with Dusknoir. Nelvana was with the two psychic pokemon as they had discovered that Gardevoir already had the best psychic bond with Nelvana; it just seemed to be the best way to build up strength by training with her as well. Plus, at least in Alex’s opinion, Nelvana wasn’t in need of much physical training, currently.
After a bit of warming up, Alex decided to start Edgar training up his pursuit move. It was one Alex was quite familiar with himself, and Tsuki as well. He figured that Edgar was at the right level for the move, so it was just a matter of getting him used to using it.
“Alright, Edgar, have you ever used pursuit before?” Alex asked, stepping out further into the center of the large room.
“No, I haven’t…” Edgar admitted, following the grovyle at a bit of a distance. “That’s the move that gets stronger when your enemy is running away, right? I’ve seen some of the others at the tower use it before!” he added.
“Yeah, that’s the one!” Alex responded, “now, Tsuki and I are going to demonstrate first. You can hang back with Damien for a moment, okay, Edgar?” he continued, “actually… Damien, can you learn pursuit? I can’t remember if that’s in your movepool.”
Damien shook his head, “nah, I don’t think so. I wonder if there are any moves we have in common…?”
“Eh, you’re more likely to have common moves with Tsuki or Edgar,” Alex muttered.
At being mentioned, Tsuki stood up from where she had seated herself over by the wall. Shaking her fur out first, she padded over towards Alex while Edgar spun around and headed back over to Damien.
“Did you remember to bring your TMs that you mentioned?” Edgar asked the gengar as he floated up next to him.
“Augh, damn, I forgot… Should I grab them now?” Damien responded, glancing from the duskull beside him to the grovyle across from him.
“They can wait for now. Right now, let’s focus on moves we actually should know already,” Alex answered, sparing Damien a look before focusing on Tsuki. “Now then, would you like to use it on me, or should I attack you?”
“I resist the typing. You can hit me for this demonstration,” Tsuki decided, shifting her position to a more battle-ready crouch.
Alex nodded, “great. Alright, so, like Edgar said before, this is a move that gets stronger when the opponent is fleeing. However, you can use it at any time. From experience, it’s easier to pick up when you fall into that instinct of attacking as they flee, so we’ll go straight into that,” he explained, turning back in Edgar’s direction again. “There are plenty of signs to look for and timing to get right, but we’ll keep things simple for now. Usually, someone only runs away from a fight if they think they are going to lose. Keep an eye out for that. They may start trying to look for escape options, and focus more on dodging than attacking, becoming jumpier.”
“Okay!” Edgar called back, bobbing along in the air to confirm his understanding.
“Now, we’ll demonstrate then.”
With that, Alex made a lunge for Tsuki. He purposefully went wide though, and the absol barely had to sidestep to avoid the attack. Baring her teeth, she snapped at his head leaf, again, purposefully missing. They didn’t have to hit each other to make this a battle; the only attack that would be important to land for this demonstration would be the pursuit attack.
After about a minute of throwing out various attacks and jumping around each other, Tsuki began shifting her gaze. She exaggerated nervousness, pawing at the ground as she moved around Alex. He wondered if he should point it out to Edgar, to be sure he understood what to look for, but trusted the duskull had already noticed just fine. Instead of speaking, he readied his pursuit attack, gathering dark energy in his claws. Normally he would try hiding his hand to keep his foe from suspecting anything, but it would make more of a difference to Edgar here if he made the move more visible.
Sensing that Alex wasn’t about to say anything to add to this lesson and was instead going right for the pursuit, Tsuki turned tail and fled. She bolted across the room, using her full potential for the first time in this battle to put as much distance between herself and the grovyle as possible. As she began moving away, Alex crouched down and then lunged towards her, the dark energy only growing and pulsating around his hand. Then, he appeared upon the absol, striking her with the move. It was almost as if he had teleported, except his movement, while extremely fast, was still quite visible, as if a teleport had been drawn out instead of instantaneous. His weight threw Tsuki to the floor, though after a moment, she easily stood up again and threw him off her back, shaking her fur out afterwards.
“And that’s pursuit for you,” Alex said, brushing himself off as he turned to look back at Edgar, who clapped quietly with his robed hands. “Would you like another demonstration or more explanation, or would you like to try it out for yourself?”
“I… I think I’d like to see it again!” Edgar decided, almost answering instantly but hesitating to actually think about it before making his decision.
“Got it.” He glanced back at the absol as he made his way back towards the center of the room. “Do you want to get to hit me this time? You’ll probably end up taking the brunt of the hits when Edgar gives it a shot,” Alex offered.
“I can always take an oran berry if I get worn out,” Tsuki assured him, following him some of the ways, providing them with more space for the fight. “Thank you for the thought, though.”
Alex only hummed in response, accepting her choice and preparing himself to fight again. This battle went similarly to the last. In a way, it was a chance to practice some of their own moves, even if they didn’t want to actually hit each other with most of them. Eventually though, Tsuki tired of the dodging and throwing around various attacks, and took the chance to flee again, earning another pursuit to the back to finish the fight.
“Okay! I think I want to try now!” Edgar exclaimed, hurrying over to the others.
“Alrightio,” Alex responded, stretching. “You’re up against Tsuki then. Pay attention to when you think she’s going to flee, and get your dark move ready. Dark-type moves work best with negative feelings, at least when learning, so channel frustration at her running away. Keeping in mind that you want to stop her from fleeing will help ready pursuit as well,” he advised.
Edgar nodded, and Alex made his way over to sit beside Damien. Sitting beside the gengar earned him a chill, but he didn’t mind that so much. Instead, he focused his gaze on his two teammates, who positioned themselves for the battle. Tsuki continued giving more advice to Edgar before they began, and Alex distantly listened, paying more attention with his eyes rather than his ears.
“Edgar mentioned that I should be able to learn confuse ray and night shade like him. I’ve used both in the past, but it would be good to touch up on,” Damien mumbled, not really looking at Alex as he spoke either, watching the battle about to unfold instead.
“That’s a good idea,” Alex agreed, “the confusion status is good to have on our side. If you use it too, then that frees up time for Edgar to land a will-o-wisp instead in a fight.”
With that agreement, Damien didn’t pursue any more conversation for the moment, and instead watched as Edgar and Tsuki began to train. It took a few tries of the absol running off and then returning for Edgar to get the hang of the move, but eventually he pulled off a successful pursuit, nailing Tsuki from halfway across the dojo.
“Oh, hey! You got it!” Damien cheered, sitting up with a smile.
“Yeah!” Edgar exclaimed back, doing a victory spin in the air.
“That’s great! Can you ready the attack without the idea of attacking a fleeing pokemon though?” Alex asked, standing up on his feet and taking a step towards the duskull.
“Oh, hmm… let me see!” Edgar responded.
His eye flickered for a moment, before finally disappearing from the socket all entirely, and the dark energy managed to form around his hands. It wasn’t as much as Alex had been able to form in his demonstrations, and evidently took much more focus, but was still great progress for him.
Alex grinned, “great job! So, do you wanna take a break for now, or do you want to practice that a bit more?”
“I think I want to practice it a couple more times, but then I think I want to help teach Damien confuse ray!” Edgar responded.
“That would be a good opportunity to train the rest of us how to snap out of confusion quicker,” Tsuki pointed out, strolling over towards where most of the others were.
“Ah, that’s a good point! I didn’t think about that, but you’re definitely right. We should give that a try,” Alex agreed, snapping his fingers at the thought. “After Edgar finishes with pursuit, of course,” he added.
Nodding along, Edgar turned back away from the grovyle and back towards the center of the room, where Tsuki followed. They continued this repeated training, but before Edgar could announce that he was ready to change to train something else, the door to the dojo opened up.
Keahi entered the room, almost sheepishly as Dusknoir trailed behind zim. His large eye scanned the room, landing on the pair, who were still training without much of a pause. They had, of course, heard the door as well, but for now were not letting this bother them. Keahi hurried over to Alex and Damien, hopping up to sit up on the bench.
“What are you guys doing here?” Damien questioned, tearing his gaze away from Dusknoir to watch he torchic scurry over to them. “You already passed by the dojo for the tour…”
“I wanted to come back to train with you guys!” Keahi explained, “and… Dusknoir wanted to come with too. If he’s going to bother you, I can take him back to the house first…”
Dusknoir, overhearing the conversation, floated over to weigh in his own thoughts, “I do not plan on being a loud disturbance,” he told them, “and if it is the idea of me learning your moves and applying them to avoid later… Remember, we are unlikely to get into a battle against each other in this time. I was actually considering teaching a few of my moves. It would be best, after all, for a ghost-type to teach a ghost-type…”
Alex narrowed his eyes and frowned, “I’d rather not,” he insisted, “I guess you can stick around here for a bit, just to watch though, if you insist,” he relented bitterly.
“Ah, please, it would be no trouble. Edgar is part of my evolution line, and I happen to share a similar movepool to that of a gengar…” Dusknoir pressed, the corners of his stomach smile creeping upwards.
“I said no,” Alex snapped, crossing his arms.
“Is this really your choice to make?” Dusknoir questioned.
“Why are you so insistent on this?” Alex questioned instead of answering, sending a final glare at Dusknoir before looking back at the battle, which Tsuki was about to flee.
Dusknoir merely hummed in response to this, turning his own gaze to the remaining moments of the battle as well, “training pursuit?” he commented, “I have not used that move in a long time… It is quite handy though.”
Alex muttered something under his breath. Dusknoir glanced over at him, but did not request for him to speak up and say whatever he was muttering to his face; not for now, at least.
With this round of battling finished, Edgar headed over to join the others. Tsuki stared over towards them longingly for a moment, but instead proceeded to the opposite end of the room, where she began searching for one of the oran berries stored in the dojo. Edgar’s pursuit attacks weren’t doing that much damage, but too much of any attack can wear someone down.
“Hi Keahi! Hi Dusknoir!” Edgar greeted cheerfully, “did you see? I’m learning pursuit!”
“That’s really cool!” Keahi chirped, “now half the team knows it! That ought to be pretty handy!”
“What move shall you be training next?” Dusknoir asked, staring down the duskull.
The light in Edgar’s eye flickered momentarily, but it quickly returned to its usual brightness, “confuse ray!” he told him, “Damien and I plan on working on it together; I already use it a lot, but he hadn’t in awhile.”
“Ah, I see. I’ve only used that a couple times myself, but I can see the use in it for others,” Dusknoir replied, “I was just talking about maybe getting the chance to train you and Damien sometime; I know a lot of moves you could learn.”
“And I said no,” Alex spat, “don’t try to twist this like I had been agreeing with you.”
“It is merely an offer, and it is their choice,” Dusknoir stated calmly, with almost a smug undertone to his words.
“Oh… uh, I don’t know. I’m not that experienced anyway; there probably isn’t a lot you could teach me until I get stronger on my own,” Edgar murmured, glancing from the grovyle to the dusknoir. “Thanks for the offer though!” he added politely.
Damien blinked, paling as he realized he would have to answer as well, “well… aren’t you a physical attacker? Most of your moves won’t be that good for me; I’m a special attacker, usually,” he said.
Something seemed to darken from Dusknoir at these answers, but he let out a low hum and slowly nodded. They were fairly reasonable excuses. He would accept this, for now.
“Very well. Let me know if you change your minds,” Dusknoir murmured, “don’t let me interrupt you, you may get back to your own training now.”
“Come on! We’re going to need a couple targets for this move; no sense in confusing each other!” Edgar hummed, heading back towards the middle of the room once more.
Alex, Keahi, and Damien all followed. Dusknoir stayed over by the wall to watch, and Tsuki stayed on her end of the room to watch as well, doing her best not to let her ability make her too bothered by the large ghost-type across the room.
They trained for another hour at least after that, but then Gardevoir entered the dojo to gather up everyone to take a break and do something at home. Despite the interruption from Dusknoir, Alex considered that to be a good training session.
As for Dusknoir himself, he was quieter for the remainder of the day, though he did not seem too upset either. It was strange, though not something for anyone to really comment on. Nelvana was quiet too, actually. Though, she did remain around the same room as Dusknoir to be with the others, so that seemed to be a step forward. Dusknoir noticed during this time, that a torn scarf that almost looked like a reaper cloth was tied around her wrist; a mobile scarf. Well, at least that answered one of his questions.
