My Xmas was such a fucking mixed bag lol. On the upside, my parents got me this really nice winter coat in the style I'd been looking for, a gift I neither asked for nor expected (gifts are usually just like. a card and maybe some slippers or smth) but obviously am very grateful for

On the downside, they gave me a Xmas card that says

on the front, plus the aforementioned slippers in the Brightest and Girliest pink imaginable lmfao

I wish I could go back and tell younger me that I would in fact find that place one day full of people that I adore deeply and who I know love me in return. Who make me feel wanted and cared for and appreciated in a way I never thought would be possible. And none of it required hiding, or forcing myself to be a person I’m not. And I still have that space even though I’m aroace.

For the first time ever, I see a future where I’m not alone. And I wish I could go back and tell my younger self it would happen. It’s possible to not be constantly lonely.

I've actually been scrounging for an ending to Ellenville, because it's hard to actually 'end' a tragedy with something that feels complete, and that last post hit me with yeah, that's right. Because we live in a world where blood is protection and the cost of safety; and it fits in so neatly with the themes of death as stasis and longevity.

The 'end' is the regulations in place. Not even watching it happen, but success. This is The Pushcart War but epic fantasy.

I have discovered that the other day when I was playing around with purple glitter gel that said purple glitter gel migrated rather ambitiously onto my favourite blue vintage cashmere jumper. I didn't notice because it's oversized and folds such that it ripples and can't really be seen so I'm not considering calling it quits yet. Rather than use a stain remover (will never ever work with purple glitter gel) I could try embroidering over it if it really bothers me. Calm and tolerant. Calm and tolerant.
