I saw the initial tweet about proms in Japan and I decided to finally say something. This has honestly been bothering me for a long while - as a POC that has been white-washed not only by the American government but by my own family, it is legitimately painful to watch as the anime and manga fandom slowly starts to white-wash itself.

If you don't believe me, go watch a popular anime. Turn on the subtitles and listen when they call each other by name. The names don't match up. It's incredibly jarring to listen to one thing and yet read another.

Yes. Quite easily so. You see, making deals with the Fae is down to very specific word choices. They shot themselves in the foot with their own words here while making this deal, even though they thought their word choice was so very, very clever. The Fae specifically uses the word "glass". This, in turn, limits the person that agrees to the deal to the "hit your front teeth on the first try every time" to only be hitting their teeth on the first try every time if they drink out of a glass. If the person decides to drink out of a container that isn't made out of glass, like, say for example... A paper cup. Or a soda can. A plastic bottle. Styrofoam cup. Yeti Tumbler. Their own hand. A bowl. Who knows, a person can get hella creative when they realize there are ways to get around the rules without actually breaking them. So. A Fae being stands before me, and offers me this deal. I smile, wide and unassuming, offer my hand to shake. "I accept this deal and all of it's terms unconditionally."

so here's the scoop

Actually before that, I wanna say that I've participated in the Erasermic Omegaverses Zine this year, can't remember if I yelled about that on here? I was a fic writer for that - if you like Erasermic and like ABO, here's the link to the collection on Ao3! Mind the tags on the individual fics, please! ANYWAY. I've had. A fucking. Time. Kinda a rant and also an explanation for why I've been absent and also why I linked my kofi at the bottom of this. A lot of shit happened!🙃 This summer, my Papa passed away. I loved him. I really did. He was funny, kind, and he took shit from absolutely no one. If it hadn't been him I would have said I wasn't going to go help out and I was just going to go to the funeral. But it was him, so I told my friends that I was going back to the city, and I was going to help settle everything, pack his things, etc, because I loved him. I should have stayed home. First of all, my family treated me like free labor and like shit while I was there to help out. Second of all, I got into a car accident on the way to the funeral and the guy who hit me tried to intimidate me into not calling the police before driving off - and yes, I was injured. Third, my family "expressed concern" over my injury and then proceeded to have me write the obituary, decorate the funeral room alone, and asked me to be a pallbearer while injured. I could go into so much more detail but I'll spare you the horror of My Family™️. I'm honestly surprised I made it home without collapsing. AND ON THAT NOTE: A week later, I did collapse. Dramatically, and with flair. I was recovering from both whiplash, grief, and having to spend time with My Family™️ and over at my friend's grandmother's house when suddenly I didn't feel well. I stood up to splash some water on my face, got into the restroom, realized, "Hm, this is more serious than Not Feeling Well, I should tell someone Right Fucking Now," wobbled back into the other room, told the grandmother that something was wrong, and then proceeded to collapse to the ground and have a heart attack. After that, my heart rate would not calm the fuck down and I had wild heart palpitations for the next seven hours! Yes, I went to the hospital. I have been to the hospital twice more after that, had several more doctor appointments, have had several tests done (including a Tilt Table test, which 0/10, do not recommend), and there's plenty more that I could talk about (like the Tilt Table test, though I might just make a TikTok account for just to rant about that akdhfa it's both not funny and FUNNY), but what it all boils down to is this: I have a very, very severe case POTS all of a sudden and my doctor is still trying to figure out what the hell caused it. Currently I'm trying for disability benefits because I legitimately cannot work - my sleep schedule is fucked, my energy levels are all over the place, I can't stand for long at all without fainting and I can't sit for varying length of time without the same. I hate to even do this, but I'm a broke bitch who has medical bills for tests and operations (god I have one in just a few days and I am NOT looking forward to it) that I can't pay for because I don't have insurance, so: Here's my kofi page if you'd like to buy me a coffee or help me not stress about the multiple doctors visits I have every month!

So fun fact: there's mold growing in my closet!

I figured out Thanksgiving Day (Nov 24th for non-MERICAN's) that something was up because for several days my nose had been, uh, leaking black gunk. Yeah, gross. I know. At first I thought I was due to my one day outside and I caught something on the wind, but the more days that passed and I still had the black stuff coming out, I grew concerned, did a Google check...

And since it wasn't coming from my mouth (thus not my lungs), that ruled out TB and lung disease, AND I hadn't been near any fires or smoke, that left: MOLD EXPOSURE.

I'm already sick and struggling to keep from fainting at a moment's notice, so I told my roomies, we got to a doctor who was pretty much useless, and when I got home I was relocated to another room (unfortunately upstairs). All of my clothes, blankets, pillows, and various linens have been washed, and once that was finally done the ACTUAL hunt for the mold began.

It was found only 2 days ago! I was beginning to think the black gunk was a fever dream of some sort, but no, it's there - it was hiding behind some things on the floor in my closet. Dunno how it got there - either a leak in the roof and it dripped through the walls to the floor, or some water in my bathroom traveled under the tiles and over to my closet. Regardless, now we have to rip out the carpet and try to figure out how deep/far it goes.

And to the things better, last night I FINALLY was able to get my PS5 set up again so I can play vidi games, right? Well, as a precaution I was wiping everything down with disinfectant wipes because everything had been in my room.

The wipes were coming away black.

Not dark grey, not brown. Black.

We're gonna have to wash every surface of that room because mold spores have settled on everything. I went in there yesterday because I had left the remote for the TV and immediately started coughing - gave up on the remote very quickly because fuck that noise.

I'm hoping that I can save my art books - one of my roomies says I can put them under UV lights and kill the mold? I just have so many books and some of them I stored in my closet...

Anyway, that's an update from meeee, how're y'all doing? 🙃

So I got the part I need to set up my drawing tablet? But in order to set up my tablet, I need to uninstall drivers, restart my computer, and then download something off a website.

Oh by the way, I have Epilepsy!  Apparently I have had it for a while now and never knew because they teach complete misinformation in schools and boil epilepsy down to “oh flashing lights cause convulsing on the floor and head trauma”.  So all those times I’ve fainted, or had unexplained lapses in focus, or lost the ability to use my hands, or had an extreme stutter for hours, or severe migraine knock me over the head, or lost vision out of nowhere?  I’ve been just attributing it all to my OTHER disability when in actuality it’s been seizures! You’d think I would know something was up when looking at strobing lights and suddenly faint or other things, but again.  I never convulsed, and there’s SEVERE misinformation about epilepsy in good ol’ ‘merica. I haven’t been able to get any medication yet because due to the fact that I now live in Small Town America all of the doctors have their hands full with Covid, and getting an epileptic some anti-seizure medication isn’t considered a high priority :)  It’ll be months before I’m able to see a doctor to figure out which meds will be best for me. For now I’m staying away from movies and TV shows that have flashing lights or strobing effects, not driving at night/long periods of time, and blocking people who’s art causes me seizures - which is its OWN debacle, but I won’t get into that just now.

Long time no see, eh? 2020 was a shit-show, wasn’t it? I kinda migrated away from Tumblr because between the chaos of last year (I moved 3 times due to all that bs), my health, my mental health, and just the stress of doing things, I barely had time to focus on more than one type of social media account.  And, well.  My twitter is 18+, so...
