That's the thing - they will never realize how unfair they speak about her on there nor do they care if it affects other people. It's never going to change how they view Santana on that sub. There are Santana fans and stans for sure but they really can't show any sort of appreciation or love for her on there because of how negative that sub is about her all the time. Case in point on that appreciation post for Santana today where Rachel stans can't just stay off but have to find some sort of way to criticize her. It's unnecessary. A lot of the Rachel stans on there just view Santana as a bully who never changed while at the same time they choose to defend Rachel and her selfishness day after day. Have fun but don't get yourself heated over their views of Santana.

I prefer faberry over brittana

I think that the quinntana hook up didn't make sense at all and they just threw it in there to make ppl who wanted quinn to be a lesbian/wanted faberry canon shut up, i would have liked quinn exploring her sexuality but sadly this storyline was never realized and they brushed the whole thing off by making quinn say "i think its just one time thing for me" or something like that. It could have been a great chance to have another lgbt character on the show and they wasted it.

Klaine was really annoying as a couple, i really couldn't stand them half of the time, but the characters taken individually are not bad. I think they brought the worst out of each other.

Finn was one of the worst characters on the show, i really dislike him, probably one of the characters i hate the most on glee. Personally i don't see this big character development most of you say he has, he kept being an immature manchild who treated rachel like shit (violently beating up brody???? Wtf was that crazy act of jeaulousy/possessiveness) and made ableist comments. And don't even let me start about what he did to santana HE LITERALLY OUTED SOMEONE and called kurt a slur, as a lesbian i can't forgive something like that, there's a limit to everything bro. Everyone makes mistakes, but he fucked up too many times.

S4 is not bad at all, it has really great songs and the storyline if fun and interesting, its nice that they did something new by describing the gleeks life in college. Maybe i like it bc im attending university, so i find it relatable. S5 and s6 suck ass and are terrible.

I don't think glee should have ended in s3, but it should have ended with a fourth season. They should have made a whole season dedicated to show how the gleeks life was after high school WITHOUT introducing new shallow characters that no one cared about

Rachel had more chemistry with santana, quinn, hell even with cassandra july than with finn or any other man.

Brittany is a pretty flat and uninteresting character, they should have given her more development, i never really cared much about her bc they wrote her off as a comic relief with no other personality trait besides saying random shit to make ppl laugh.

Marley was the only newbie i liked, both jake and rider were annoying, the love triangles get really tiring at some point

3. mercedes - i love mercedes sm. she's amazing, gorgeous, entertaining, funny (amber's comedic acting deserves more love!) and so damn talented. rn i'd rank her at #5 in my character ranking, but often she's also a bit higher.

2. santana - icon <33 i started watching glee in 2010 and since then she's been one of my fav fictional characters in general. she's easily one of the most hilarious and entertaining glee characters, it's so much fun to watch her on screen. her development was ofc amazing and i love that she helped so many people. naya was truly incredible <3

rachel - my baby!! i love her sm. she just hits all the right spots for me. i love this insane, dramatic, extra, passionate, ambitious, unique, hilarious girl. she owns my heart!

I mean obviously the sentiment isn't wrong. How often do we say that almost any one of the glee clubbers would be a better leader or representative than flop hudson. I just feel like Brittany is feeding into a larger problem that I have with season 3 in regards to Kurt

Which is just how they make so many jokes about Kurt being more flamboyant and girly than he actually is. Rachel saying she wants to see Kurt in a bridesmaid’s dress. Finn saying "What's with the sparkly jacket i thought you were kurt" but then he also has a comment in s2 about "sequined riding pants". but when has kurt ever wore sequins or sparkles outside of mercedes's dreamgirls fantasy number?? and having actual adults talk about how he isn't sexy enough (call the police) and laughing him out of an audition bc he's sooo fucking gay ha ha. i kinda talk about it here if you wanna read more unrelated angry rambling

Anyway all that to say. Kurt is not straight passing! He doesn’t need to be! He’s bold, theatrical, he loves fashion, he loves Broadway, and that’s great! But the pink sparkly unicorn stuff is something Brittany tried to force on him.

Kurt loves Judy Garland. He wanted to pay tribute to her with his campaign posters, hearkening back to her Blackglama fur coat ad. Something that references a beloved icon of the queer community, and fashion history at the same time. Two things that are very Kurt

But with Brittany, all nuance and clever reference is gone. She puts ruby slippers in the goody bag, just because they’re sparkly and flamboyant. They reference Judy in the most cliche and obvious way possible. Even if someone wants to claim it was her own version of a clever reference, she still has more pointless stuff in there as well. Unicorns, a teletubby, hair bands?? What does any of this have to do with Kurt or what he likes or represents?

And obviously there is nothing wrong with being the most flamboyant gay person you want to be. Pink and sparkles and rainbows obviously aren’t bad on their own. Not trying to sound like the shitty old “Gay people I respect vs gay people I don’t respect” meme. It’s just. Every gay person is more than their sexuality. No matter how flamboyant they are, how they dress, how many rainbows they wanna slap on everything. That’s still a whole person. Just bc all YOU see is a giant rainbow flag, that doesn’t mean that’s all they are

Brittany thinks being gay is nothing but pink unicorns and rainbow glitter. How is that any different from the shit Karofsky or Azimio or any other bully says about Kurt?? At the end of the day it’s just someone trying to cram him in a tiny little box that he is far too big, too bold, too nuanced to fit into 

I mean god fucking forbid, but imagine if Brittany was “helping” Mercedes run for president like this. Telling her that being black should be her main personality trait, and filling a goody bag with items that are Brittany’s idea of what being “black” means to HER 💀💀 (I mean anybody with common sense could see it was insane, but her stans would react the same way and make Mercedes the bad guy when she reacted poorly bc what else is new lol)

And all her dumbass unicorn talk literally made Kurt start to dislike that part of himself! Like he’s always been bullied for it but he was still unapologetically himself. But Brittany’s campaign idea contributed to Kurt thinking he needed to change himself, and saying he was tired of being a unicorn. And in s3 he starts wearing more drab colors and all these sweaters and capes and he’s bundling himself up like he’s protecting himself and it makes me sad. And they bring in a completely new character that looks like Kurt just to call Kurt ugly and a girl and make fun of him. It drives me up a fucking wall! Season 3 is so awful to Kurt i literally can’t stand it. And it all starts with Brittany :) Thanks for that. Girl power!

And after dealing with the pain and humiliation of literally being laughed out of an audition BY MEMBERS OF THE FACULTY for being “too gay” Kurt is faced with the bright pink unicorn posters with his face on him that say “This is your box! This is all you will ever be!” and wow i can’t imagine why he’d be upset with Brittany for that!! Who’da thunk??? Brittany was a selfish idiot for hanging them up. Kurt had every right to be upset. And Santana was an idiot for invalidating Kurt’s feelings and just boosting Brittany up when she was obviously in the wrong. But that’s Br*ttana for you :)

I’m not even happy about Kurt “accepting” the posters and hanging them up himself and making that his campaign theme. That’s the version of Kurt that someone else made up in their head. ok uhhh once again if this ends up becoming a furtana post it's bc i have zero self-control. seriously no thoughts only them i am a furtana stan account

also? once i've written more of the fic (manifesting that lmao) i wanna make a proper zine and i think it would be fun to include mini playlists for the main characters? like 'santana essentials,' 'finntana's soft jazz essentials,' etc. very hypothetical project but a girl can dream

finntana grew up together and therefore have similar music tastes (kinda). finn is very big on rock, especially classic rock, and made santana listen to a lot of it with him. she was never into it to the same extent as he was, but high school rolled around, dragging up a lot of insecurities and pain, and santana realised that singing along to the angriest rock songs she could find helped alleviate some of it. finn wasn't huge into alt rock but he did some digging just for her and helped her find artists like alanis morissette to listen to. he also talked to his mom about his concerns regarding santana's mental health (as if carole hadn't noticed already) and she introduced santana to soft jazz. so some days, finn and santana would go outside and blast alt rock and break stuff, but other days they would curl up in bed and fall asleep to the softest jazz (this is not a good drawing but u get the vibe). i think kurt would join in on the jazzy times - he would just sit at finn's desk and work on homework or fashion stuff, yknow? once in a while he'd look over at finntana just to check in, and he'd smile fondly when he sees that one or both of them has fallen asleep.

santana is a bit more connected to latin culture here, so i reckon she likes to sing along to spanish songs when she's doing stuff like cleaning or cooking. kurt can tell she's in a good mood when he hears it. she vibes in particular with rock artist santana, completely unrelated to the fact that his (last) name is also santana. i also think she's into r&b but i have not thought about it in detail.

brittany listens to a lot of upbeat music. primarily 2000s- early 2010s pop and hip hop but i don't think she has much of a preference as long as it has a good dance beat. i have a solid mix of britney spears, rihanna, beyonce, kesha, and lady gaga songs (among others) in her playlist if that helps. she has the best playlists for stuff like bus rides and messing around in the gym with music playing on the speakers bc it's safe to assume everyone will enjoy all of it

I don’t know where I’m going with this but I almost think the influx of Rachel stans has decreased the quality of the sub, because most of the comments from them involve dragging down other characters faults to prove that she’s not so bad. In that sense I’ve seen more and more very subtle support toward Lea Michele. No hate toward Rachel stans though, not on Tumblr much but from what I’ve seen they’re absolutely lovely here, just the sub ones are giving off weird vibes.

Hmm yeah tbf with almost all fans I'm like "the Tumblr ones are chill but can be unhinged on reddit".

I can't say I've noticed the same with Rachel stans but that doesn't mean it isn't a valid point and at this point it has been months since I was on active on the sub, so. The general feeling of trying to defend a character/ship by dragging another has always been there, unfortunately. The constant comparisons are exhausting especially when people just do it to justify their likes. I've said it before, will say it a million times, you don't need to justify what you like with some moral imperative and fandom stops being fun when people do that.

I can't say I envy Rachel stans as it seemed like a week couldn't go by without someone shitting on her for really no reason other than vitriol for the sake of it and because it's become trendy to do so. But like you I'm also annoyed by people dragging others down to prove she's not so bad. I know it's easy to say and I can't say I've never taken the anti Santana bait but it's best to just ignore these posts.

Most Lea related things I've seen on the sub were very negative, at times downright nasty so that's new. It's an interesting observation, maybe the sub is swinging another way now and perhaps going down the road of a different but equally unfun extreme. Sadly it's never going to be fun as long as it's just different fractions of the fandom going up against and slandering one another. So often people, and not just Rachel fans, resort to useless whataboutism. Once again I can only say that it's a shame what the sub has become. Not that this wasn't an aspect of it even when I first joined but now the good stuff is gone and it's only things like this.

Brittany and Puck

When they were kids Puck used to get in a lot of fights because he kicked Brittany’s bullies asses

They were a couple of rebels and they had adventurous souls. They built a tree house in Brittany’s backyard and they wrote “Britt + Puck 4ever” in the tree trunk with a knife

One day, Puck was on his way to Brittany’s house and he found a baby cat sleeping in trash can. He took him to Brittany’s house (because she loves cats) and he said to her “I introduce you Lord Tubbington”

They gave him food and a bath because he was so dirty and Brittany made cupcakes for Puck to thank him

They were each other’s first. And I don’t care if they said that someone else was their first on the show. this is true

When they were 13 they promised that if they were alone age the age of 30, they would marry each other

season 1

Brittany and Puck actually thought that glee club could be fun but Puck didn’t want people to make fun of him

Britt was so happy when he joined and she was the main reason why he joined the glee club

They practiced together all the time but before the glee club they already danced and sang together just for fun

season 2

Britt was sad when he was in juvie and she sent him letters everyday (Idk if this is even a thing but yes)

Both of them sang a goodbye song to each other and they cried when Britt gave Puck a friendship bracelet with her name and showed him her own bracelet with his name

season 4

They FaceTime everyday

Puck was the first person who Brittany called when Santana broke up with her

He went home that weekend and they had a sleepover in the tree house. He sang for her like he did when she was sad

Puck told Sam that he would kick his ass if he ever made Brittany cry

He loves Brittana the most but he liked her best friend with his bro

Puck and Brittany were so sad when Kurt and Blaine broke up. Puck cried

He was so proud when she went for MIT. He cried again

Brittany told him that she didn’t like it and he tried to sneak in and get her out of there but he couldn’t I don’t why

season 5

When Puck left Lima to go to the Air Force after the quarterback, he went to MIT before joining the army. Brittany was so sad about Finn too and they cried together for an entire week.

Brittany encouraged him to go to the Air Force because she always knew he could fly and maybe prove that Pegasus exists

ohh okay im gonna rank them once on how much i like them and another time on how much of an important member i think they were

here’s my totally objective ranking of how good the characters are

1. kurt

sorry but this is a kurt hummel stan account before everything else. also his season 2 arc was so good

2. rachel

this is also a rachel berry stan account. and season 2 rachel was hilarious. i love her

3. tina

are we surprised by this ranking? no we’re not. i love her and this season features football player tina so it’s automatically amazing

4. mercedes

i love her. she didn’t get as much plot as she deserved but she was still the best

5. sam

he was very good in the his season. it’s nice to have a guy who isn’t constantly awful to everyone

6. santana

i love that her plot about figuring out her sexuality starts here. and overall it’s way better handled here than in season 3. also she wears a bunch of amazing outfits

7. brittany

season 2 is by far my favorite season for her. i think the writing was still good enough to not make her seem unnecessarily mean to other people and her and santanas relationship was so interesting to me. she also wore very good outfits

8. lauren

she’s a queen and we were robbed of her having more storylines. unfortunately she didn’t do enough for me to justify putting her higher than this

9. quinn

idk what her motivations for pretty much anything are in this season but she’s a girl on a mission and i appreciate that

10. artie

he was actually pretty good. he had some plot and was pretty fun most of the time (i am kinda bitter though that his plot ended with him being the bad guy even though he didn’t do anything wrong. like yeah he wasn’t the nicest but also brittany repeatedly cheated on him. what was he supposed to do? congratulate her?)

11. mike

i feel bad for putting him this low but what did he even do this season besides dancing? the dancing was pretty amazing though

12. finn

okay he ended up pretty low on my list mostly just because i think the writing of him wasn’t great. all the concepts like him struggling with popularity vs being himself are very interesting but not new. like he learned his lesson in season 1. i would like his plot much better if he didn’t totally forget all his character development between the seasons

13. puck

his relationship with lauren was actually cute but besides that he really didn’t do anything interesting this season

and now my how useful were they to the club ranking

1. rachel

i mean yeah. she’s their lead singer and she was the one who came up with the idea of writing their own songs and she even wrote some of the songs they were performing herself

2. mercedes

she probably deserves first place but alas the writers suck and didn’t actually let her do anything

3. santana

i think she really started to realize how much she enjoys performing this season and putting herself more in the spotlight was well deserved and good for the team. she gets minus points for being mean to other people though. that’s not good for the team spirit

4. mike

danced them to victory and didn’t cause any drama. iconic of him

5. brittany

danced them to victory but also caused drama which is why she’s lower than mike

6. kurt

hes in the middle because on the one hand he just left for half the season and only joined them again once they were already going to nationals but on the other hand he supported blaines singing candles at regionals idea and i’m pretty sure that counts as sabotage

7. tina

shes as always underappreciated by everyone. justice for tina. would probably be higher if i didn’t suspect that she’s the one who’s responsible for the awful dresses at regionals

8. artie

honestly the new directions would be lost without artie and it’s time we acknowledge that. hes doing the most singing and no one ever appreciates him. also he’s the one who gave brittany the confidence to dance in front of a big audience so go artie

9. sam

his singing was boring but at least he was a good teammate

10. quinn

her singing was also mostly boring and she was the cause for most of the drama. which is iconic but her trying to sabotage the team unfortunately puts her pretty low on this list

11. lauren

she made the new directions cool

12. finn

hes mostly this low because he kissed rachel at nationals. like buddy that was not the right time. besides that he also caused a bunch of drama and was kinda a dick to people. as the self appointed leader he should do better

13. puck

he brought lauren to the team and i appreciate that
