It doesn't matter to JD Vance - or Trump's supporters - that the 'immigrants eating pets' stories are false. He's admitted as much, and says he will keep repeating them. Because "memes."

It also doesn't matter when it's pointed out to him that the Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio are in the country legally. He's going to keep calling them "illegal" because their legal status is not the thing about them that he finds objectionable.

It doesn't matter if they're legal immigrants or illegal immigrants. It doesn't matter that immigrants - regardless of legal status - are statistically much less likely to commit crimes than those born in the United States.

None of those things matter, because it's never been about those things.

Trump & JD Vance and all of their supporters hate immigrants. Full stop. The reasons and justifications will always shift and change to fit the present circumstances and political environment; reactionary politics at its finest. Meanwhile, the cold and vile core remains unchanged:

OC-tober Day 3 - Old OC

I guess we'll keep the trend of TTRPG characters with the first one I ever made! Norian "Nor" Montrin, a tiefling sorcerer who uh. Is really sad, good GOD. He's 4 years old but acts like he's 10. He's a bit of the stereotypical first D&D character (doesn't trust anyone, likes being alone) but also he's 4 and is traumatized and he does have a fake personality that IS actually cooperative so.

I do have some art of him, but credit where credit is due ofc. This art is by u/jebusbeltran23 on Reddit (i couldnt find another way to credit them other than reddit, sadly). If they somehow see this, I always remember how special my little guy is since he got his own art <3

I was just listening to a song I used to love while we were friends. I listened to it so often, we talked so often, it became the background music to our relationship.

I'm listening to it while I knit. I often forget that I started knitting because of you. I remembered tonight. It's strange, I never knitted anything for you. I've knitted for other loved ones, rarely for myself, but never for you. I remembered you showing me the amazing things you made, and I wished I could get to that level of skill. But at that time, you had to explain to me how to purl because I couldn't get it.

Everything reminds me of you in a terrible way. Everything I do is an echo of you. I started painting so that I could paint for you. I started knitting to bond with you. I hear your voice in the music I listen to. You're haunting the things that I love. Will I ever make a brush stroke or stitch without you on my mind?

#i should be able to block all music i listened to on Spotify from 2018-2020. i was not doing well and i dont need the reminders pls #im fine this was just kinda reflective #so much of what i do was inspired by her. i havent spoken to her in three years. we havent been friends for five #but my first painting was a gift to her. i started knitting because she knitted. i got so much music from her #we bonded heavily over music. and i used it to cope after she left. so unfortunately shes mixed into so much of it #she got me into dnd which got me into a different ttrpg im playing now (unknown armies)#shes a big reason i applied to the summer camp i worked at for six years #and a big reason i took the position i had the last two years. and the reason i told our camp legend (long story)#she was in my christmas in july gift i gave and received this year #i dont think ill ever be able to forget her. on good nights thats a good thing. its reassuring. she'll always be with me #but on bad nights. i feel like im never going to stop missing her #i was knitting tonight while listening to music. as the post suggests. and i was just overcome with her #this is the bed i was in when she called and left me. this is the bedroom we used to video call to practice sign language in #oh theres another one. i was going to be an asl interpreter. years ago in another life. i always practiced with her #we're both autistic and asl is easier than speaking a lot of the time #fuck. it reminds me of the ship of theseus. its 2:30am so i wont be able to explain well but #no actually i tried and i cannot explain. youll just have to understand. some days i wish i ciuld replace all the parts that were her #and sometimes im so afraid to lose the parts that were her because thatll feel like losing her #if i ever consciously decided to stop knitting (which i may have to do soon) it will feel like im replacing a board that was hers #how many of my boards are hers? are any of hers mine anymore? how many of hers can i lose before shes gone?#that last one was asked with fear and hope. and fear. depending on the day #god im tired. goodnight

Spidey Far From Home #and then they didn't have any in 2020 #AND THEN THEY HAD FOUR IN 2021 #and then they went back down to three a year for 2022 and 2023 #god damn no wonder the mcu has gotten so chaotic #they're moving too fast #no one has time to absorb 3 new movies AND whatever tv shows they make every year #go back to one marvel movie a year. or two. two is fine. two is plenty #mcu

okay so i used to follow the overwatch league up to the 2020 season and ive been missing it a lil and decided to watch some old (ancient) matches from 2018, (which is just about the only old owl matches you can still find with any sort of ease)

then got bored and since the owl has been going continuously since then, i watched a lil from the 2022 season

and like. yeah i expected changes i know theyve been adding heroes to overwatch and changing the rules and overwatch 2 is a thing now??? i lost track of it a long time ago tbh ive not been following this for like 3 years

anyway okay different arena different stage - it’s only 5 people per team now huh?? oh Carpe is still there its nice to see a familiar face. what the casters tearing into him now cus hes been there too long??? okay uber and mr x literally the same casters as we saw in the inaugural season. lay off the good man Carpe fucking rocks okay hes a great player and i literally dont know anyone else in this whole match. only 1 tank now per team which is sad i loved watching the flex tank players. new heroes that im not familar with i was expecting that

but you know what really threw me, and made me unable to watch anymore?????

lijiang tower!!! it’s not even night time anymore!! what the hell is this??

okay im done now i think it may be time to never check out the owl ever again sadly

I know i might have a weird taste for music but i didn't think it was that bad until i gave a lift to my brother and he kept begging be for a normal song after being forced to listen to nyan cat for not even 30 seconds...

#its set from 2018 to 2020 and follows a journo at (what was at the time) a mainstream/largescale but independent news network #which was getting undue pressure for not following the nationalistic messaging everyone else was doing #and of course in 2022 the network got bought out by a company w close ties to the prime minister #its all so very death of journalism and independent media and theres no light at the end of the tunnel
