what a perfect time to take a break from bg3 to play the new stardew valley 1.6 update. biting the bars of my enclosure as i keep reopening steam to check if its out yet

Are you excited for the Stardew 1.6 update? Concerned Ape said it's coming out march 19th, only three weeks away!

Heck yeah! The thing is, Stardew has a bad habit of putting a stranglehold on people so I gotta make sure not to overdo it LMAO THAT and I can't wait for the farmer to stand out even MORE in the new update!

I was digging through some old art and I found this one from a couple of years ago. I was using it to try out a gel medium for watercolor that allows for tighter control. I wanted to practice the technique but didn't have the energy to thinkof anything original, so I was like, screw it! Stardew it is! Also, I'm super excited to play thr new update tomorrow.

Well the Stardew 1.6 update is certainly interesting

I was just gonna open it and have a look around, but I ended up playing on a new save file for 5 hours today because OH MY YOBA

IT'S SO GOOD

When the 1.5 update came out, it expanded upon the game, adding more things. This update feels like ConcernedApe's gone through and polished everything, and made the game feel really complete. The increased detail, more dialogue options and some other new things like the bookseller just tie the game together.

Going through the opening cutscene and seeing the updated bus station, it just feels so much nicer, and less sparse around the edges. The new animal farm is really unique, just like the beach farm in the way that it changes how you play the game. I think it might be my go-to farm from now on, simply because I like the balance between farmable space and the starting animal coop, though I think to balance it perhaps only starting with one or even no chickens.

And then there's things like the new Joja background on the letter

It's these details that really bring the game together and make it stand out even more.

I've only played through spring, and I'm excited to see the rest of the update

You need a change, a big one. When your estranged grandfather passes away and bequeaths you his farm in a little town just south of the middle of nowhere, you take it as the sign you needed to make a change instead of waiting for one.

The farm, while having fallen into a state of disrepair, is just the thing to cure your modern-world ailments. The people are kind and always ready to offer help, if a bit unusual. They have old superstitions, a haunted community center, and a resident wizard. Spoiler alert: those last two on the list take some getting used to.

Yes, things are different here but you have a sneaking suspicion that the slow pace and a certain alchemical practitioner are going to remind you that sometimes, all you need is time and a little bit of magic.

It's going to be inspired a touch by that mod (which I will link below, full credit to that amazing modder) and will heavily follow a standard Stardew Valley play through timeline. I'm a lil nervous to write Gojo since he doesn't fall neatly into the character type I normally am drawn to but I have WRITING HANDS (like jazz hands but for writers :P ) and so I'm adding another fic to my WIPs list.
