Miles is roused from sleep by sunlight shining on his face. Slowly, his eyes adjust to the light, until finally, his scope of awareness broadens to a body he had been sleeping on.
Page 2
Miles looks up to the figure that holds him, and upon seeing, his eyes widen in recognition.
Miles looks up to the figure that holds him, and upon seeing, his eyes widen in recognition.
The bottom panel of the page shows minimal details of a window shedding light onto the bed and blankets as seen from a higher view in the room.
Page 3
On the other side of the bed, Phoenix rests, his head propped by the headboard. His hair is messy from sleep, and his expression is thoughtful. The light of the morning highlights his features.
The sun shines through the blinds of the window.
Phoenix finally notices his observer, and turns to look at him.
Page 4
Phoenix takes Miles’ hand in his, and lifts it to gently kiss the ring on Miles’ finger. They both move to share a kiss, and their hands shift to hold one another. Miles’ ring sparkles in the sunlight.
Page 5
They link their fingers as they kiss, and the morning creates a quiet atmosphere around them.
They part, but remain close, their fingers fully interlocked. Phoenix greets “Good morning,” with a tender, loving expression as he looks at Miles. Miles’ own expression is soft, unguarded, and fixed on Phoenix.
Page 6
Phoenix and Miles settle back into their shared bed; the morning sun illuminates them. They both smile softly, seeming happy and at peace. Miles rests his head under Phoenix’s neck, and his hand on Phoenix’s chest. One of Phoenix’s hands rests over Miles’ own on his chest, while his other hand holds Miles closer, revealing a matching ring of his own. Both rings shine softly in the sunlight.
Bonus image
A small simple drawing of Phoenix and Miles having fallen asleep again while holding each other as in the final page of the comic.

One of the weirdest things I love about TMA is how embarrassing it all is. Like, romanticism is fun sometimes, but embarrassment equally so.
If you've ever meaningfully interacted with the supernatural, you know that shit can be awkward. If you've ever had an office job, you know how embarrassing it can be! Pretty much if you've ever experienced any form of life, you know how embarrassing a day of existence is.
And my god Jon's life is embarrassing! He can't stop getting kidnapped, he doesn't have any friends, he can't even get his job done due to infinite supernatural interruptions. That's really embarrassing.
He's an adult who effectively has to relive being a child because he's thrust into a world that no longer makes sense, and that vulnerability is so real!
But Jon's not the only one who's going through embarrassing stuff, oh no! Martin is hopelessly in love with his cruel boss who barely looks at him; Tim and Sasha hooked up only for Sasha to break it off against Tim's wishes; and hell, Melanie literally got laughed off of YouTube and BECAME A MEME.
These people are going through awful, otherworldly terrors, but not once is it ignored that they must still suffer through painstakingly awkward everyday moments too.
I suppose it comes down to realism. Understanding that the supernatural can become just another part of life in an annoying way, and letting the characters be normal fumbling people makes it hit so much closer to home.
I think all this is why The Magnus Archives is popular not only as horror, but as an explanation of human relationships; the everyday realism is so deeply entwined with the otherworldly but both exist in their own right. And this in itself is realistic, as how far away is horror from your daily life, really? And how different is fear to embarrassment?

drabble trade with @domoz :) prompt was "blessed + forbidden technique"
----
the trouble with the Blessed was that they tended to be exemplary.
Amaterasu chose brilliant tacticians, gifted fighters- sometimes, they got lucky, and she'd make a talented poet her Blessed. But most often, they were skilled in the Shinobi sense, and it made it damned hard to catch them.
Tobirama had proven the worst of the lot- devastating on the battlefield, and absolutely impossible to capture. The Uchiha had been trying for years with any method conceivable- when it was clear they couldn't best him in battle, they'd take underhanded methods.
Hikaku had discovered the exact farmer who sold the exact leaves to the exact merchant who provided them to the Senju for Tobirama each year, and had managed to drug the leaves at that earliest stage in the process; Tobirama had delayed the reaction long enough with irojutsu to return to Senju lands safely.
Fugaku, the Uchiha with the most successful record of seduction missions in the entire clan, had set about winning Tobirama over as soon as the peace treaty was assigned. He'd plied his trade and simpered and fawned and shown an astounding amount of skin in those early days of peace- all of which Tobirama had completely ignored. Or perhaps simply not noticed, which would've been even more insulting to Fugaku's efforts.
They were getting desperate. Desperate enough that when Izuna, Tobirama's most hated rival, claims he can manage what they've all failed, nobody tries to talk him out of it.
He approaches Tobirama in public. They've been working together for a while now, stiff and uncompromising, but he waits until they're both technically off the clock to try his hand at it.
Izuna slides up next to Tobirama, grabs at his arm, and tilts a teasing little smile upwards. "Ah, Tobirama?" He asks.
Tobirama looks at his grip on his arm like it's a bug he'd like to swat.
"Uchiha." Tobirama says, but he doesn't shake his arm, at least.
"Would you mind if I asked you a favor?" Izuna presses, eyes gone wide and shining. Tobirama wiggles his arm a little to try and break his grip, but says,
"Get on with it."
So Izuna takes a deep breath in, and says,
"PLEASE COME HOME WITH ME."
he shoves his head into Tobirama's shoulder, a playful gesture turned more into a desperate headbutt. His grip on Tobirama's arm has turned squeezing. "PLEASE. PLEASE PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE-"
"Stop that!" Tobirama finally shakes his grip, and Izuna slides to his knees and grabs on there instead. "PLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASEPLEASE-"
Tobirama's attempts to escape without killing Izuna just result in both of them getting tossed and turned and dirty. Izuna holds on tighter, begs louder, and Tobirama-
"FINE."
Tobirama gives in.
Izuna immediately stops, stands up, and dusts his pants off. He tosses a wink over his shoulder at the crowd, slides an arm around Tobirama's waist, and starts to lead him to the Uchiha compound. "Now, I was thinking the guest room facing the village-"

Robin!Jason: Gee I sure am glad to spend the weekend here uncle Clark!
Clark who is sweating a little thinking about when he would watch Dick: I’m glad you’re here too bud! So, what do you want to do first?
He was fully expecting him to say ARSON like his predecessor.
Robin!Jason: Oh I have a great idea! After I do my homework we can each read a book, write a review about what we like about it and a short summary! Then we can see if the other person wants to read that book!
Clark:… that sounds like a book report.
Robin!jason, looking incredibly excited: I know! :D
Clark: …Sounds like a plan!
