unedited jegulus oneshot at exactly 1,4k words based on this insta post (please check out the artist they're so cool) the ending is so rushed because i cba 😭😭😭😭😭
Saying that Regulus wasn't used to this would be one of the greatest understatements he'd ever make, and given his past, well that says a lot.
It happened when he and James were in the library, and where Regulus was meant to be studying, he'd found himself staring at the other boy intently. He couldn't help it, anyway. The boy that was usually loud, chatting non-stop to ensure that Regulus was painfully aware of his presence now sat with his nose buried deep in a book he'd chosen from the shelf at random. Except he hadn't turned the page in about seven full minutes and Regulus was beginning to feel weirdly irritated by the fact that James hadn't said anything since he'd asked to join him (which would be a groundbreaking first).
“Good book?” He finally asked, and James jerked, clutching the book towards him as if it would run away. Regulus frowned at the startled ‘deer-in-headlights’ look on the other boy's face.
“Uh, yeah?” James said, cheeks turning pink, and he must have noticed the vaguely irritated way Regulus watched him because he stared back at the open book. He gestured to it rather weakly and said, “Very interesting. Yes.”
“So tell me what it's about.”
James balked, looking rather stupid with his mouth hanging open. Regulus sighed, running a hand through his hair, cursing himself mentally as he asked “Potter, are you okay? And don't give me that look, I'm just as surprised as you are that I care.”
James' blush spread to his ears and he shook his head, then nodded and when Regulus sighed again he shrugged, defeated.
“If I wasn't, there's not much you could do to help anyway.” James said, looking back at the book, trying his best to feign nonchalance but Regulus wasn't stupid. He reached forward, pulling the book away from James.
“Hey, that's not fair.” James grumbled indignantly but made no move to take it back.
“Come on, Potter. You force shit out of me the same way, have a taste of your own medicine.”
James worried his lip, looking down at the table, “I told you. You can't do anything about it. It's stupid.”
Regulus groaned, sitting all the way back in his chair.
“Potter, between you and I, I sort of actually care about you, okay? Seriously, if you have something that's bothering you,” he caught James’ eyes, finishing weakly under the curious scrutiny, “you can tell me...”
Silence dragged and Regulus wondered if he'd pushed too hard. The golden boy of Gryffindor tower looked as though he hadn't slept for days and Regulus told himself that he was right to ask, after all James’ eyes were far too tired for someone who is usually smiling at everything.
Regulus opened his mouth, then closed it. An overwhelming urge to bundle the other boy up in a giant blanket and stroke his hair until he fell asleep washed over him. He cringed, attempting to shake the thought out of his head and promptly failed when he turned his eyes back to James. The Gryffindor looked pathetic and he wanted to kiss him square on the forehead. He couldn't stop himself, Regulus let his mouth betray him. Just this once.
“I could hug you, if that's what you want.” As James laughed, Regulus thought that the betrayal was worth it. It was small but it was something.
“Did you mean to say that out loud, Reggie?” a tinge of humour, almost entirely sincere.
“Hm, maybe. What gave it away?”
James perked up slightly, head tilted to the side in that curious way of his, “I'm pretty sure that when you don't like a thought you've made you screw your face up and all. You do it a lot anyway.”
Regulus scoffed, a little embarrassed “No, that's ridiculous. What's wrong with you? You've never turned down a hug before, anyway”
“Real smooth subject change, and I never did turn it down. I just—” James smiled a little bashfully this time, fingers picking at the edge of the table, “— uhm, it's really nothing. I, uhm…”
Regulus mused that he must have sighed a million times by then. He rolled his eyes, palms smacking against the table.
“You're frustrating me.”
James mimicked him, “You're frustrating me.” He punctuated it with an exaggerated pout, slamming his hands on the table and flinching at the noise. Stupid Potter.
“Okay, so you want to be hugged?” Regulus would be lying if he said he'd feel disappointed if the hug was properly rejected, but he kept his face as neutral as possible.
James hid himself behind his hands, rubbing his eyes beneath his glasses, “Yeaaah, I guess.”
“Ugh, what do you mean, ‘I guess’? It's either yes or no.”
“I'm like,” James reached out to thin air, waving his hands in little circles and Regulus would've found it endearing if he wasn't itching with mild irritation, “I don't know? Like, uhm…”
“Merlin's fucking beard, Potter. Spit. It. Out.”
“You're so tiny!” James screwed his face up, shaking his head.
“What? I am not.” Regulus didn't bother with being embarrassed by how defiant he sounded because James Bloody Potter calling him tiny was not something he wanted to hear after being picked on by Barty and Sirius for his height every time he breathed.
“I mean, like—” he gestured to Regulus, then to himself and when it seemed words failed him he groaned, hands coming back to his eyes.
“I hug you right?”
Regulus squinted at him, “Uh huh…” every word that James sputtered out concerned him more but he let the other boy speak. He wanted to hear everything.
“And then, uhm, yeah it's like,” James gestured stupidly again, “I hug you, and you can, you know? Lay your head on my chest.”
Understanding dawned on Regulus, he smiled, then caught himself and schooled his expression as best as he could. Pointless, considering James had already noticed and the Gryffindor’s face was redder than Regulus had had the privilege of seeing. He looked dumb. In a cute way.
“You're scrunching your face up again.” James mumbled.
“So you want to feel smaller than me when you're being hugged?”
There was a moment of Regulus waiting expectantly for a vacant James to answer and when he didn't, Regulus nodded, feeling his cheeks heat up as he stood, pulling a stool away from the bookshelf behind them.
“I'll take that as a yes, then.”
Regulus stood on the stool, arms held open.
“What are you—”
“I'm not waiting all day, Potter.”
“I didn't take you for a jokester.” James said, something vulnerable in his voice caused Regulus' heart to stutter in his chest.
“I'm not. Now come on, before someone sees me standing here like an imbecile.”
Slowly, James stood too. He looked everywhere but at Regulus, inching forward like a little kid afraid of tripping over something.
“James. It's fine.” Regulus’ attempt at sounding genuine must have worked because as soon as he'd said that, James' forehead was touching his chest. Regulus cautiously wrapped his arms around the boy, feeling arms snake around him at the same time.
James sighed, breath hitching a little. They stood like that for a bit, Regulus praying to whatever muggle god was out there to mute his racing heartbeat.
“So…are you okay, Potter?” he asked as a distraction.
Fists clenched into Regulus' shirt, another little sigh. A little bit like a hiccup. Regulus’ heart did that jumpy thing again.
“Potter, I asked—”
“Say it again.” muffled and softer than Regulus had heard James speak in his entire schooling career at Hogwarts. A lot of firsts for one day, it started to make Regulus dizzy.
“Are you okay, Potter?”
James shook his head defiantly, probably messing up Regulus’ shirt and tie in the process, “Nah uh.”
Regulus fought a tired groan from escaping, gritting his teeth he managed; “Use your words, you baby.”
“My name.”
"I did—" Oh.
Oh. Regulus was properly blushing now.
“Oh, uh. James, are you okay?” he whispered, knees weak with embarrassment.
James' grip relaxed and he pulled himself away gently, looking up at Regulus. A dopey smile plastered on his face, eyes a little watery.
“Yeah, I think I'm good.”
“Okay.”
Regulus really, honest to Merlin could not stop himself this time as he leant forward, kissing James on the forehead.
He was stupid. In a cute way. So it's fine.

Tumblr media
Los Angeles, Early 1990s
Sunset Curve started as a fun little project for a group of four teenagers from all walks of life and different stories. It came about when a kind blonde boy was trying to find a socially acceptable way to hang out with someone he was currently seeing. It worked because Alex had learnt drumming as a way to work his frustrations out, he didn’t feel like he could punch someone, so boxing was a no go. Luke, the guy he was seeing, had received a guitar from his parents and self-taught himself how to play. The Patterson parents believed it would be a phase and he’d get serious about education.
The duo found out that an acquaintance had been having taken guitar lessons for several years, as a date Luke and Alex discovered him in the music room at school. Somehow another guy, Bobby, joined and then when the relationship between Alex and Luke mutually ended the band floundered. Alex, however, refused to let the breakup affect their friendships. Luke refused to give up the band. Sunset Curve was then forever changed to a permanent band.
In 1993 Luke attended one of his favourite local bands at a venue where he bumped into you. Chemistry and attraction instantaneous between you two, unlike anything before. IN that few second you both knew that you had see the other again.
Tumblr media
“Hey! Sorry!” You called out over the loud music glancing over his shoulder at your friends grinning in response. After a bad breakup, Jay and Ro had been pushing you into failed blind dates.
“No worries!” Luke replied, “Gnarly song, hey?”
You nodded glancing at your friends once more, “I better get back to my friends.”
Luke frowned as you gave no indication you felt the spark, he did in the minute of interaction, but he hoped he could change your mind. The encounter settled in his mind as the concert finished, and the clock struck midnight.
Ro and Jay hounded you for leaving a gorgeous guy with the same music taste, but you just felt wrong to lead him on. Sure, you felt something for the guy but look how the previous relationship turned out.
“After James…”
“He’s an ass,” Ro spoke frowning at the tone you used for your ex. A two-year relationship with a guy you thought would be your forever love, “Girl, I would date you in a second! You’re a strong woman who doesn’t need a man. But that doesn’t mean having a little fun…”
“He’s gorgeous.” Jay supplied looking over at the boy whose attention was sucked back into the music by the band Weezer. The band is an inspiration for his music, “Look at his arms. Cut off muscle shirts were explicitly made for him.
“If I see him again. I’ll think about it.” You sighed chuckling as Jay made a face at the song being played. Jay didn’t like this kind of music, but she loved you too much to not be there when you were still hurting.
A few weeks later in a bookstore, you waited for your Aunt’s book club to end so you could help close the store and go home. The sound of a guitar brought your head over the couch to see that guy with a band from the concert; all of them playing instruments. Godlike he couldn’t get any more perfect, then he started singing. You were a goner.
“You should try the cheesecake bites.” You spoke coming up behind the guy at the snack table, “So you like Weezer, play guitar in a rock band and you sing?”
Luke was surprised at the sight of you, “Hey. I..uh…yeah. Always been a fan of rock.”
“I grew up on it. My parents met at a Rush concert, and a year later they were married.” You spoke leaning back against the wall, “Dad’s on the road right now.
Alex noticed Luke talking to a girl across the room as he packed up his kit, a pinch of sadness felt, but he pushed it away. They ended for a reason, and they just didn’t care about each other the same way. Alex was happy for his friend.
“Is he in a band?” Luke asked glancing at the band shirt you tied into a crop top and a pair of shorts. It was gorgeous but straightforward on you.
“Yeah. The tour bus was kind of my first home, I guess.” You chuckled looking at the guy, “Hey sorry for being standoffish at the concert. It was lame of me.”
Luke smiled, crossing his arms and smiling when he noticed your eyes wander to his arms before you met his gaze again. He usually wasn’t so confident, but God, there was something that drew him to you. He’d hoped he would bump into you again.
“It’s cool.” Luke shrugged, “If I say something really cool, could I get your number?”
You smiled, grabbing the sharpie in your back pocket before gently taking his arm. Scribbling the number on his arm to glanced up to his awed expression.
“Call me.” You replied before pushing off the wall to head to the where your Aunt was starting to close up, “I have a personal line.”
Luke beamed happily following Reggie out the door, a grin that didn’t leave his face. He called. After a date, he called nightly, and a relationship was born.
Tumblr media
Your converse slapped on the sidewalk as you sprinted to the band studio beyond excited to see Luke after two weeks of family time on the road. You missed him. He was coming out of the studio they rented when he glanced up. He stumbled back when you slammed into him full force.
“Whoa!” Luke yelped as he caught his balance and squeezed you close to him, breathing in the scent that was just you, “I missed you so much.”
“Me too.” You breathed hurriedly kissing him in response, “I just got back, and I had to see you.”
The entire world fades away as you guys kissed as if you hadn’t seen each other in months rather than a few weeks. His one hand moving to cup the back of your neck and the other squeezing your hip. Yours wrapped around his neck.
Your heads tilting to deepen the kiss when a voice interrupted you.
“Gag me with a spoon.” Bobby spoke, walking by with a grimace, “Nice that your back so Luke will stop moping but too bad since I’ll have to see that.”
“Oh, shut up, man.” Luke shoved him playfully before he picked up his abandoned guitar case and held your hand tighter, “You’ll understand when you find someone.”
Reggie and Alex waved as they continued on, Reggie would have to endure a tense supper with his parents, and Alex had family plans as well. Luke, however, was bringing you home to see his parents; out of his life choices, Emily and Mitch adored you.
“Come on.” Luke smiled, kissing your cheek as he tugged you to the sidewalk refusing you let you go on the walk to his place. Luke listened as you told stories from your time with your parents; he had allowed to meet them. Every time, however, last-minute details kept Luke from meeting your father.
“So, I have some news…” You playfully said coming to a stop at the front door of his house with a grin. Luke’s little grin appeared at how happy you looked and the sunburn on the tip of your nose.
“Yeah?”
“You know Poison Monarchy, right? The club.” You questioned moving to lean against the brickwork, you were expected to see his reaction. Luke’s eyes brightened at the mention of a famous club that jumpstarted a few bands.
“Of course! The guys and I snuck in to see this radical band. We got kicked out, but man it was such a cool night.” Luke grinned slipping into the memory of being where local bands got big, and most went on to place The Orpheum.
“Well-“
“Luke.” Luke’s dad Mitch spoke from the open doorway with a look of displeasure at the guitar case resting at the teen’s feet.
Luke automatically straightened his posture at the sight of his stern father waiting in the entrance. His hand keeping yours when it started to slip out.
“Dinner is getting cold,” Mitch spoke, turning his attention to you. His stern expression breaking into a genuine smile, “Y/N, it’s nice to have you over.”
Luke was led into his own house by you as you enthralled Mitch in a story about something you saw on the road. His Mom was putting the last dish on the table when the kitchen livened up with the new additions. Emily was quick to tug you into a huge before everyone washed up.
Luke was kind to walk you home after dinner with his parents where he could breathe again from the expectations in his home. His arm slung around your shoulder, humming a new melody that had been in the back of his mind.
“So, I hope you guys are free Friday.” You spoke nestling further into his side content in his jacket he had draped over your shoulders.
“Why?” Luke questioned, tilting his head to kiss your temple. His fringe tickling your forehead as he did so.
“The regular band isn’t able to play, and they were looking for a replacement. My Aunt-“
“-who owns the book store you finally talked to me at-“
You chucked at Luke’s words, “Anyways, her brother-in-law went to high school with the owner, and I may have dropped your band, and well you have a gig.”
“I love you,” Luke exclaimed stumbling back at his words. Your eyes widened in response, “Oh god. That is not how I wanted to tell-“
“You love me?” You shyly spoke, staring at the boy that held your heart in his hands ever since the first real conversation. Luke’s face turned bright red as he stuttered out mindless words. Something in your eyes changed that, and the confidence returned with a shade of shy.
“Yeah. I do. I have for a while, but I know how that loser broke your heart, and I didn’t want to rush you.” Luke spoke cupping your cheek in his hand, “But I really love you. Like, not some puppy love either. I see two things in the future. Sunset Curve and you.”
“Luke-”
“And I know it’s only been a year, and we’re barely seventeen, but I’ve only been sure about two things in my life. You don’t have to-“
“Luke! I love you too.” You laughed, reaching up to kiss him with all the love you could pour into it. Love you loved him, and God help him, he adored you, “Well Rockstar, better plan your setlist.”
You breathed cradling his hands still cupped on your cheeks each bearing a grin of pure happiness because this was a perfect moment; just Luke and you in love. That was all that was needed.
Tumblr media
Two years flew by for Sunset Curve and your relationship with Luke did as well and with every relationship came ups and downs. After a nasty fight, you came to a compromise to never go to bed angry, Luke had spent the entire night on your porch. He got sick, and you made up. After performing at Poison Monarchy, the first time they had monthly gigs there, they would busk on the street for extra cash. Luke bought you a promise ring with his busking savings just before the big blowout with his parents on Christmas.
“Luke?” You yawned opening the door to a sobbing teenager. You were quick to yank him in the house out of the cold.
Luke broke down that night after running out on his Mom for the usual argument he had based on his dreams. The next few months he would alternate staying at Reggie, Alex’s or your place if your parents were gone. The subject was too sensitive, so you ignored the elephant topic in the room instead of addressing it.
“Babe, we did it.” The glee in his voice was by far one of your favourite things to listen to. You were sitting on the bar with him leaning back between your legs. Both your eyes scanning the empty area of The Orpheum.
“You guys did it.” You breathed, “You pour yourself into this band. You guys finally get the accomplishment.”
The rest of the band had joined you guys in complete silence to take in the monumental moment in their lives. Something you didn’t want to tell the boys was that with a little nudging, your father had spread the word of an up and coming band. His words would be bringing people in the business tonight.
“So, I’m thinking we close with Now or Never.” Alex offered, “It’s our high-level energy song, and to close with it would be perfect.”
“Our third song could be ‘Home is Where My Horse Is’ and go int-“Reggie cut himself off when the band gave him the usual look, “Oh come on! We need to give a little taste for when we dropped a country album.”
“I-“ Luke shook his head disregarding the same thing that happened at every gig they had done, “We’ll start practising. See you in a bit.”
Luke swiftly kiss you before shoving around with the boys to the door backstage glancing over with a heart-stopping smile. You watched intently as they began their soundcheck for the gig buzzed on the excitement.
“They’re good.” A beautiful girl spoke wiping down the counter beside you—her brown eyes watching the band perform.
“They are. I’m Y/N.” You grinned as she introduced herself as Rose, “The two on the ends are single.”
Her chuckle spoke for itself as she moved away to put glasses away behind the bar, her tight curls bouncing as she walked. You see Bobby and Reggie had their eyes pinned on her while Luke’s head was in the clouds or his eyes meeting yours.
“So, the restaurant is ready when they are.” The gritty voice spoke from behind you. Standing in the flesh was your father who you immediately jumped at.
“Dad!” You exclaimed happily that he had finally been able to come to see the guys play. It was always a wrong time when he was supposed to meet the band.
It’s what happens when he happens your father happens to be in one of the biggest rock bands around. Little people knew who your father was, even Luke just knew he was in a band and called him by his last name out of respect. He had never met him face to face, however.
“So, the frontman is Luke?” Lancaster, Lance for short, questioned his daughter leaning beside her, “Remember when your type was a football player?”
You snorted at his words since he had never liked your ex-boyfriend James. Lance had heard stories from your mother and you about Luke. Lance so far liked the teenage boy. He trusted you wholeheartedly to make responsible decisions.
“Oh, shut up.” You spoke, pushing his shoulder, “How was London?”
“Same as usual. Met up with the guys.” The sombre tone was enough for you to know he had been celebrating a close friend. Even with Freddie’s illness, your father hadn’t been able to leave his side and even four years after the death of Freddie Mercury, it still cut Lance up.
“I’m happy you’re home.” You spoke smirking when the band finished their soundcheck heading to the waitress immediately after. Bobby, no doubt flirting while the other searched for you, “Man, this is gonna be good.”
You raised your hand to your boyfriend, who quickly made his way over with a huge grin and heavy breathing.
“Man that was as exhilarating as our-“
“Luke!” You nervously chuckled quickly kissing him before he could embarrass himself in front of your father. Luke frowned at your tone before he glanced over to the side. Alex and Reggie making their way over, “Guys, things aligned perfectly. I want you to meet my father.”
Luke’s eyes widened as it clicked that he had almost told his girlfriend’s father he was sleeping with her. His Adam’s apple gulped at the fear that flooded his veins. The father in question turned, and the band as a collective released the most hilarious gasp of shock.
“That’s-“
“Lance Y/L/N. By your expressions, I assume you know my stage name.”
“Lancaster Jameson.” Alex squealed having to grab Reggie’s arm to keep himself upright.
“Your father is Lancaster Jameson?!” Luke exclaimed, “You didn’t tell me you’re a literal rock legacy!”
You could hold back the laugh waiting to fall from your mouth at their reactions to your family history. The excitement was overpowering everything else.
“He just watched us perform.” Reggie breathed, hitting Alex in the chest, “My dream has been reached. My goal is finished.”
“While they calm down, I’ll see you later,” Dad spoke kissing the side of your head as he whistled his way to the entrance. The group was collapsing almost only regrouping to make fun of Bobby. You are tugged with them.
“Ok, well, I’m thinking we fuel up before the show. I’m thinking of street dogs.” Luke announced happily, whereas you made a disgusting face.
“No.” You shook your head at the suggestion. There was no way you were going to down a street dog before their gig.
“It would be fitting.”
“No. I have a feeling that street dog would have been your last. The place is called Sam N Ella’s guys, if you say it fast, it comes out salmonella.” You spoke glaring at Reggie went to say something, “No. We’ll head to have food with my folks and some of their friends.”
“Getting food with a rock legend? Heck, yes!” Alex spoke already heading for the door with Reggie right behind, “Street dogs are in the past!”
It was a beautiful night. Sunset Curve got a ton of offers, and many demos were taken from the group as well. They also didn’t die.

This is a wolfstar thing, but there are also @lumosinlove‘s lovely characters in here! Thank you for creating them, we all love them so much.
So enjoy y’all!
Chapter 1
Remus
Remus was standing in the small, overheated office. He had goosebumps nevertheless, but they didn't come from the room temperature or because he was feeling cold.
They came because of his new mission, which he had just received. He knew it would come eventually, just the when was unclear. Until now.
And he knew it had to be him, he was the best for this job.
He tucked the inconspicuous folder neatly under his arm and blinked against the darkness in the room to make out his boss’s silhouette
“Be done by the end of this month, Lupin.” a low voice said.
He turned around without another word and left his boss's office.
Remus was packing his backpack when his phone rang. He looked at the screen but didn’t recognize the number. That was weird. Just a few people had this phone number; and he knew all of their numbers by heart.
He picked it up.
“Hello?” Remus said.
There was a short moment of silence.
“Is there Remus Lupin?” a male voice said. It sounded young, with a southern accent.
“Who are you?” Remus asked, disgruntled.
“Oh yeah. I’m sorry. I’m Leo Knut. Dumbledore gave me your number. I’m sorry. I should have said that right away.”
Ah. So he called on Dumbledore's behalf. It must have something to do with his new mission.
“How can I help you?”
Remus looked at his watch. He didn’t have the time to make small talk right now, so this Leo Knut better hurried up a bit.
“I get the feeling that Dumbledore didn’t tell you the slightest thing about me, did he?” the caller sounded irritated.
“Well, I don’t know who you are or why you’re calling me, so obviously he didn’t. And hurry up a bit, could you? I don’t have time for this right now.”
Remus knew he sounded unfriendly and harsh, but he wanted to start this new job today and for that he still had a lot to prepare.
“I’m sorry, I know, but I’m your partner for this mission.”
“My what? My partner? I don’t work with partners. This must be a mistake.”
“Uh… No. Dumbledore told me himself.” Leo said.
“Okay, okay. We shouldn’t be talking about this on the phone. You know where I live, I guess? Be here in 10 minutes, we can talk then.”
Remus didn’t wait for his answer and hung up.
He sighed.
A partner? Dumbledore knew pretty well that he was working alone. He didn’t need a partner, damn he didn’t want a partner!
Damn it.
Remus finished packing his backpack. He had put a water bottle, a pen and a notebook in there. He still needed some energy bars and apples just if he became hungry. Just in case.
The doorbell rang, and he went to the main door to open it.
Remus scanned his visitor quickly with an experienced look.
In front of him stood an approximately 1,85m to 1,90m tall, blonde boy. Remus guessed he wasn’t even 20 yet. His smile was bright and his blue eyes friendly. He had a grey streak of hair; he noticed. He wore simple blue jeans and a dark grey shirt, nothing remarkable. Good.
Remus stepped aside to let him in, then he closed the door behind them.
Leo held his hand up for Remus to take it, then shook it gently.
“Hi. I’m Leo Knut. Nice to meet you.”
Remus nodded.
“Nice to meet you. Here. Sit down, please. We have some talking to do.”
Remus led him to the kitchen where Leo sat down on one of the chairs. Remus took two glasses out of the cupboard, filled them with water and handed him one of them, then sat down across from him.
“Merci.” Leo said as he took the glass.
“You’re from the South. Louisiana?”
Leo nodded.
“New Orleans.”
Leo then filled him in.
Dumbledore had forgotten to inform Remus that he will have a partner for this mission. It felt more like he didn’t tell him on purpose, because he knew Remus would protest. He didn’t need a partner and Dumbledore knew this damn well.
But Leo also said that he was new to this, and he needed a teacher and there wasn’t a better one than Remus.
He sighed.
“Okay, okay, you can work with me.” The younger ones' eyes lit up at that. “But we need rules. First you do as you're told. No acting on your own. Don’t question what I’m doing, I give you explanations when the time’s right. You have to be on time. And you’re staying in the background, don’t complain about it. Got it?”
Leo nodded.
“Okay. Good. So you know what we have to do next?”
“We’re observing Sirius Orion Black, heir of the Black Family, 25 years old, next one in power.”
“Right. This will take us some time. We need to figure out his habits, get to know the places where he goes. We simply need to get to know him but, and this is most important, he must not notice us. Never. And then…”
“Then?” Leo tilted his head.
“Then, when the opportunity arises, I'm going to kill him.”
---
Leo and Remus agreed to meet tomorrow morning at 5:30 am again, then start their investigation.
Remus sighed and sat down on his bed. This job just got a lot more complicated than he’d thought. There was a reason he usually worked alone: It wasn’t the safest job in the world and if something went wrong, which it usually doesn’t because he was careful but you never know, he was the only one to get hurt and no one else, only his life would be destroyed. But now there was Leo, and he seemed eager to learn, so Remus just had to be extra careful. Maybe it was good to have a second pair of eyes to watch for once. This was the most important mission Remus ever received.
The Black family were the ones ruling the country, Orion Black to be more precise. Officially his wife Walburga didn’t have to say a thing in state affairs, but everyone knew she was holding the strings.
They had two sons: Sirius Orion Black, their oldest son and heir to the imperium, and Regulus Arcturus Black, the younger one.
This country had a democracy once, but it was long gone now. The Black family was in power now for the 6. generation and they didn’t plan on letting go, if anything they just made their position stronger and clearer over the years. And they weren’t good for the country, they weren’t good for the people. The only thing they were good at was making themselves richer and all the other poorer. There was a huge gap.
The plan was to finally end their reign with ending their descendents and then bring back democracy to this country.
Sirius
He woke up to a knock on his door. The sun was already shining through his bedroom window; the birds singing noisily and Sirius turned around, pulled his sheets over his head and closed his eyes again. He really didn’t want to get up. If he gets up, he has to deal with his family again and he just didn’t want to.
There was another knock on his door, more persistent this time, followed by a voice:
“Sirius, open the door. It’s me. I know you’re awake.”
Sirius sighed and got up. He unlocked the door, opened it and stepped aside so James could come inside.
James, a mess of black curls and blind without his glasses. His valet, his bodyguard and, most important, his best friend. His only reason he wasn’t completely insane by now.
Sirius walked back to his bed and sat down, still just in his underwear and a t-shirt, but he didn’t care, not in front of James. He had seen him worse, much worse.
“You’re here to bring me today's agenda, I assume?” Sirius said with a still hoarse voice from sleeping.
“You assume right my friend.” James answered and sat down next to him on the bed.
James smiled at him, a gentle and honest smile, not like the false and mean ones he received from his parents.
He told him what he had to do for the day. Being at this meeting, showing up at that meeting, having dinner with his family and some apparently important people. If he was lucky, he had some time to himself between meeting number two and dinner today, so that was a ray of hope at least.
“And now you should get up, take a shower, put some clean clothes on and get some breakfast. Your parents are already gone, don’t worry. Regulus is still waiting for you though, he told me to catch you.”
James got up and headed for the door.
“James?”
The other boy turned around and looked at Sirius, an eyebrow raised.
“Thanks. For sticking around.”
“Of course.”
James smiled at him again and then left.
After showering, Sirius went into the dining room, where his brother was still sitting at his usual place.
The table was filled with more food than any of them could eat: There were croissants, different kinds of fresh bread, pastries and fresh fruits.
Sirius sat down and reached for the coffee pot.
“It’s empty.” Regulus said without looking up from the newspaper he was reading.
Sirius wanted to say something, showing his brother his annoyance, but Regulus spoke again:
“I already ordered fresh coffee. Should be here any moment.”
Almost at the same moment one of the servants showed up and filled Sirius’ cup with fresh, steaming coffee.
“Thanks.” he said, not sure if he was talking to his brother or the servant.
He drank his coffee and had some fruits before he noticed Regulus eyes lingering on him.
“What’s up, brother dear?” he asked him.
“This dinner today is important.”
Sirius rolled his eyes.
“Shut up, Reggie.”
“Don’t call me that. You have to behave for once, don’t be… just don’t be you. Behave.”
The anger rose inside of Sirius. He should not be himself? Then who the fuck was he supposed to be?
“Didn’t Mom and Dad have time today to give me The Talk, or is that why you’re doing this?”
“Oh, I bet they will do it later. Just listen to me, it’s important. This dinner is important for the whole family, okay? You’re part of the family. You’re supposed to be the heir, act like it then.”
Sirius got up and left the room without another word.
He wasn’t hungry anymore.

Healing His Heart (7/?)
Young Remus Lupin/Reader
Rating: E for Everyone
Word Count: 1625
MasterList Link I AO3 Link I Wattpad Link I Tiktok Link
Summary: (y/n) is two years younger than him, a popular Slytherin, and Regulus Black’s best friend. Yet he can’t help but be attracted to her bewitching personality and sweet smile. Unfortunately, his er–problem makes it harder to get close to others. Despite his attempts to push her away (for her own good) she seems determined to worm her way into his life.
Notes: Next chapter is one of my favorites:)
Enjoy
The full moon creeps up on him quicker than it felt it should. During the week before the awful night, he found himself always nearby (y/n). Part of him thought he'd go mad if a part of his body wasn't touching her at all times. (y/n) had been surprised the first few times he'd acted this way. Regulus had come a bit too close to (y/n) for his liking as they sat in the Great Hall for lunch one of the days. Without thinking, Remus had pulled her a bit closer to his side, his eyes sharp on Regulus, who stared back at him in bewilderment.
"What's his problem?" Regulus had turned to (y/n).
(y/n) had bit her lip, trying to think of a good excuse for Remus's behavior, "Uh-- you know how new relationships are?"
Regulus gave her a look that indicated he clearly didn't believe that lie one bit. "Okay?... anyways, did you get the answer for question three?"
(y/n) had looked at Remus for a beat before turning back to Regulus, showing him her parchment.
Remus the next morning had given her two of his sweaters, "you need to wear these."
"What-- why?" (y/n) had looked down at his sweaters.
"Just do it." He dropped the sweaters in her arms.
"Remus, these won't fit comfortably under my school robes."
Remus pursed his lips, "after classes then."
"Why--? I don't understand what's happening."
Remus sighs, feeling anxious as he usually does around this time of the month, but he doesn't quite understand where the added aggressive edge is coming from. "Just please (y/n). Take the sweaters."
(y/n) looks at him for a beat before nodding, "I guess if it means so much to you…"
When he finds her after classes and sees her wearing his sweater, he preens. It's so good to see her in his clothing, and he likes it more than he'd ever admit.
"Are you happy?" She asks, her arms reaching out to wrap around his neck. Remus hums in the back of his throat as he nuzzles into her neck.
"Yes, exceptionally happy."
(y/n)' s fingers card through his messy hair, looking rather amused with his behavior, "you're acting rather odd this week, darling."
"I dunno why," he presses a shy kiss to her jaw.
"I don't hate it truthfully, except the part where you got mad at Reggie for being near me. That was weird."
"He was too close," Remus murmurs. If he could, he'd swallow her in his arms to keep her out of view of everyone else. No one should be looking at her but him.
She giggles, "is this some Werewolf thing?" she whispers in his ear.
"I honestly don't know. I've never acted like this before--"
"Oh, so it's me?" her musical laughter tickles his ear.
Remus nods, kissing her neck this time, "maybe it is you. Have you read anything about this--?"
"Not that I can remember. I was mainly focused on the actual transformation when I was reading. Say, what do you do on that night?"
Remus pulls away slightly, "uh-- well…" he looks around to make sure no one is listening in on their conversation, "Peter, Sirius, and James spend the night with me out in the Shrieking Shack."
"The Shrieking Shack?" she frowns, "Wait! Are you the ghosts and banshees or whatever else everyone assumes is in there?"
"It's interesting how they've never put two and two together, huh? The noise and the particular timing."
"Oh, Remus. That's where you go?" She's touching his face gently, worry in her eyes.
"It's the safest option. Dumbledore concocted the plan before I got my letter. Don't worry about me. Like I said, I have my friends."
"Well… that can't be safe for them? And… I want to be there for you, as well."
Remus shakes his head, "No. You're staying here in the castle where I know you won't be in danger."
"But Remus--" she starts to argue.
"It's not like I don't trust you, (y/n)." He reaches out his hand to touch her, forearm, "I don't trust myself."
"But I could help!" she counterpoints.
He smiles at his brave girl, "It's dangerous. Sirius, Peter, and James--" he looks around the room. There are too many people around to spill this sort of secret to her. "Come with me."
"What? What's wrong?" she lets him pull her into an empty classroom.
"What I'm about to tell you is incredibly...well, it's illegal. James, Sirius, and Peter could get into big trouble if it got out."
(y/n) frowns, "what--?"
"Just promise me you won't say anything. Nothing I tell you right now can be spoken outside of this room to anyone."
"Remus, what the fuck are you talking about?"
He runs his hand through his hair, "Can you just say you won't say anything."
She taps her foot, impatiently, "yes, yes. Tell me."
"They're Animagi."
Her eyes widened, "what? Are they really--wait, they're unregistered?"
"Of course they are…"
"The four of you…" (y/n) rolls her eyes, "I swear you want to be sent to Azkaban."
He grins, "You don't know how much it helps though, (y/n). Not being alone--"
"Well, I want to be there for you as well--" She grips his hand in her own.
Remus shakes his head, "No. You will not go with them (y/n). You're not an Animagus first of all--"
"Then I'll become one! If Sirius can, there's no way I can't."
"I'm not letting you get involved with their…" he moves his hand around, looking for the right word, "activities. They chose to become Animagi for me. I didn't ask them."
"Well, I'm not asking you," she crosses her arms across her chest.
"I'm asking you do not. I--I think I'm falling in love with you. I don't want you to get in trouble on account of me."
Remus feels his face burn. "You do?" His mouth feels dry as he nods his head, hoping he didn't fuck up--
(y/n) smiles, hugging him tightly. Her head rests on his chest, "I think I'm falling in love with you as well, Remus."
Remus hugs her back, feeling like his heart is about to burst. (y/n) leans up to kiss him.
***
"Are you sure?" She asks for the billionth time.
Remus squeezes her hand, affectionately, "I'll be fine, darling."
She reaches up to cradle his face in her hand, "I hate that I won't know until tomorrow morning…"
He moves to press a kiss to the palm of her hand, "I know, but don't worry."
"Please be as safe as possible. You tell those three I'll kick their ass if something happens--"
Remus grins, "I think Sirius is well aware of that."
"James isn't scared of me yet."
He chuckles, pulling her close to his chest. Her solid warmth in his arms feels lovely. "I'll see you tomorrow."
She doesn't let go; instead, her fingers grip his body tighter, "Be safe."
"Of course," he means to press a kiss to her cheek, but (y/n) seems to have other ideas as she maneuvers herself, so he's kissing her mouth. He sighs against the softness, letting (y/n) do as she pleases.
"Rem, you only have a few hours. We should get going." James interrupts, "Oh, whoops… sorry." James looks away from the embrace.
"Too late" (y/n) laughs, "you've ruined it, Jamie."
Remus chuckles, pressing a kiss to her forehead, "good night. I'll see you tomorrow morning."
***
He follows Madam Pomfrey to the Whomping Willow.
"You have everything you need, Mr. Lupin?" she asks.
"Yes, ma'am," he pats his bag containing his clothing for the morning.
"In you go then, dear." Madam Pomfrey uses the spell she's used ten times a year for seven years now to immobilize the Whomping Willow, allowing Remus to slip into the secret passageway to the Shrieking Shack.
The tunnel starts relatively narrow but expands once it draws closer to his destination. When he was eleven and made this trip for the first time, he had thought the tunnel to be rather interesting. It was old and a bit dusty, only growing older and dustier as the school years passed.
He opens the door to the single room of the Shrieking Shack. Setting his bag down by the side of the musty bed, he sits down. The waiting is one of the worst parts of his transformations. Not only does the boredom cloud his mind, but so does the dread. The dread that after all this waiting, the very worst part begins.
Most people would assume the dread would be associated with the pain of transforming from man to wolf. Though there is still pain that comes with his transformations on the full moon, he's become somewhat numb to that specific pain. It's more of discomfort at this point, the painful part being his bones shifting. He's never broken every bone in his body at once, but he imagined this felt very much the same.
After an hour of sitting, he feels the familiar tingle that starts at the ends of his fingers and toes.
Only a few minutes… he glances out the window to see the moon has almost entirely come out of hiding.
He thinks of (y/n) at this moment. Thinks about her expression filled eyes and her sparkling giggles. Thinks of all the times she's kissed him, touched his body... It distracts him from the sudden swell of pain as the transformation begins. He hates to see the physical transformation begin, but tonight he looks down at his hands as they elongate, grow claws, and become the strong paws of a wolf.
His last coherent thought is about her, about how tomorrow will be better because she'll be there. His world goes black.

Note
Hi, Could you write a lil something or have Headcanons about Jegulus and how Sirius reacts to them?
I don’t usually write Jegulus, so I hope this is alright!
Warning: slightly nff, swearing
“Crap,” Sirius said, slamming his Transfiguration book shut on the desk.  Remus sighed and looked up from his own book.
“Let me guess,” Remus said.  “You’ve suddenly come up with a reason why you can’t do your homework… again?”
“It’s 8:30,” Sirius said quickly.  “On 7th April.”
“And?”
“Peter’s birthday,” Sirius said, glancing around quickly to make sure Peter wasn’t in sight.  “Tomorrow.”
“Oh- OH,” Remus said, eyes widening.  “Oh Merlin, how did we forget?!”
“We need to sneak into Hogsmeade and get him something.”
“At this time of night?” Remus said, closing his own book. “Not a chance.”
“When I say ‘get him something’ I mean ‘steal him something’.”
“Sirius, no.”
“Yes.”
Remus sighed, knowing there wasn’t any point in arguing – when Sirius had this glint in his eyes, nothing could change his mind.
“Well,” Remus said, popping his book into his bag.  “I guess we better get the cloak.  And we’d better be quick about it before Peter realises we’ve disappeared.”
..
“I can’t find the cloak anywhere,” Sirius said, dropping James’s mattress back onto his bed.  “James must have it on him right now.”
“Where’s Peter, anyway?”
“I think he’s in detention for that dung bomb,” Sirius said. “We have time.”
Remus nodded.  “Okay great, I’ll grab the map and check if James is still raiding the kitchens and we’ll get the cloak off him.”
..
Remus and Sirius glanced down at the Marauder’s Map, scanning for James’s name near the kitchens.  He’d left an hour ago stating he was planning on getting food for a midnight feast, but he had been gone a suspiciously long time.
“Where the hell is he?”
“I dunno,” Remus said, opening the map up so that they could see more of the Hogwarts grounds.  It took a good few minutes, but finally he spotted the name ‘James Potter’ in what seemed to be a broom cupboard.  He pointed at James’s name, getting Sirius’s attention.  Suddenly James’s name changed into the name ‘Regulus Black’ and then it was back to ‘James Potter’ again.
“Why did it say my brother’s name?” Sirius asked.
“That’s really weird,” Remus said.  They watched and it happened again.  “They… uh… must be standing near each other so the map can’t decide which name to show?”
“Why the hell is James hanging out with that little git?”
“Let’s go and find out,” Remus said, folding the map and putting it into his robes pocket.  “We need to hurry if we’re going to get something for Peter’s birthday before he gets back from detention.”
..
The entire way down to the broom cupboard they’d seen on the map, Sirius had been speculating why they were hanging out together.  Drugs, black magic, planning a surprise party for Sirius’s birthday – Remus had to remind him that his birthday wasn’t for another six months – but Sirius had come up with every possible reason for James and Regulus to be hanging out apart from the actual reason…
When they arrived at the door of the broom cupboard, Remus raised his hand to knock on the door politely, but before he could even touch the door, Sirius had already shoved the door open.
The door wouldn’t open fully – someone was standing right behind it, stopping it from opening.  Sirius heard swearing from behind the door and hurried movement, and then frantic whispers, while the person behind the door was pushing the door back hard, trying to close it again.
“Open the door,” Sirius yelled through the door.
He pressed his ear to the door and heard the hushed words, “it’s Sirius!” and “fuck” and “hide somewhere” and “where am I gonna hide, it’s a broom cupboard!?” and “here, take this” before James loudly cleared his throat and said “Sirius! Hey!”
Suddenly the door opened, and James stood alone in the empty broom cupboard grinning guiltily from ear to ear.  “What’re you doing here?”
Sirius peered around behind James and folded his arms. “I could ask you the same.”
“We need the cloak,” Remus said impatiently, rolling his eyes at Sirius’s dramatics.  “It’s urgent. We forgot Peter’s birthday is tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?” James said.  “Oh.  Wow. We really fucked up.  Huh, sorry guys, but I… er… I don’t have the cloak on me at the moment.  Actually I lost it.”
“You lost it?” Remus said in disbelief.  “And you waited till now to tell us?”
“He didn’t lose it, Remus,” Sirius said, not buying his bullshit.  “It’s right here in this tiny cramped little broom cupboard, isn’t it, James?”
“Are you okay, mate?” James asked Sirius, laughing nervously.  “If I had it I’d be going with you guys to buy Pete’s presents.”
“Are you okay?” Sirius asked.  “Hanging out in a broom cupboard “alone”?”
“I thought I left my wand in here earlier after Quidditch practice,” James shrugged.
“Hm,” Sirius said, stepping into the cupboard.  He could almost feel James tense next to him. Remus was sighing again.  “It’s really dusty in here, really dusty. Did you know my little baby brother is allergic to dust?  It makes him sneeze.”
“Okay?”
Sirius grabbed a nearby broom and starting wiping dust across the stony floor, making little dusty clouds.
“What are you doing?” James said, trying to grab the broom off Sirius.
“It’s dusty in here,” Sirius said.  “I already said that – just thought it could use a clean.”
“Give that to me.”
“Why?”
“Just give it!”
A quiet sneeze broke up the argument and Sirius looked gleeful.  “AHA!” he said, “knew it!”
Suddenly, James let out the fakest-sounding sneeze Sirius had ever heard.  “Maybe I’m allergic to dust too?”
“Oh shut up, I know he’s in here.  Reggie, you can come out!”
“Are you stupid? Why would he be in here?”
Sirius rolled his eyes and started feeling around the room. He was nearing the far corner of the cupboard when suddenly Regulus’s head appeared out of thin air.
“Sorry,” Regulus said to James, “he was about to find me anyway.”
Sirius glanced back at James to see him giving Reg an irritated look.
They started bickering about getting caught and Sirius couldn’t really concentrate because all he could see was Reg’s angry head seemingly hanging in mid-air, bodiless.  He grabbed the invisibility cloak off Reg quickly.
“Mind telling me what the hell is going on?” he said, glancing first at James and then at Reg, and almost throwing the cloak back at him because his little brother was practically naked.
Regulus grabbed the cloak and covered himself, his cheeks turning pink.
“Please tell me what’s going on.  Someone explain before I come to the wrong conclusion…”
“Tell him,” Regulus said to James.
Remus was now peering into the broom cupboard too, too interested in what was going on to think about how they were so late getting Peter’s gift.
James sighed and ran a hand through his messy hair.  “Prefect Duties.”
“Pre- prefect duties?” Sirius almost laughed.  “You aren’t even a prefect!”
Remus cleared his throat.  “Yeah, and I am.  And we don’t have any prefect duties tonight.”
James cast Remus an annoyed look. “I’m the head boy, so sometimes Dumbledore asks me to patrol and sometimes I take some prefects with me.”
“So you took my naked brother on duty with you?”
“Yes.  I mean, no. I mean… er… Reg?”
Regulus was now only a head again.  “I fell in the black lake and had to change??”
“You fell in the black lake?”
“Yep. James was just about to get me some dry clothes.”
“How come your hair isn’t wet?”
James folded his arms. “What is this? Some kind of interrogation?”
Sirius was about to say something back, but Remus stepped further into the room.  “Look, we really need to get going if we’re gonna get Peter’s present, so James, please just admit you were hooking up with Sirius’s brother and then we can get on our way.”
“HOOKING UP?” Sirius practically yelled.
“Thanks, Remus,” James said.  “Hey, Sirius, listen… what Remus said… it’s not tr-”
“-It’s true,” Regulus cut in.  “James and I are together.  A couple.  Dating. Close your mouth, you look like a dementor.”
“What Regulus means is-”
“-No, James.  No point hiding it anymore.  We need to stop sneaking around and hooking up in broom cupboards all because we’re scared of how he’ll react.  He just has to deal with it.”
“He has a name,” Sirius said through gritted teeth. “So you two are… nope.  Nope.  I don’t approve.  James, he’s a BABY.  You can’t…. oh god… oh god oh god, is this why he’s naked?”
James looked for once at a loss for words.
“Yes, Sirius, that’s why I’m naked.  I’m not a baby either.  And It’s really none of your business who I date.”
“OH GOD!” Sirius cried, turning to Remus.  “JAMES DEFLOWERED MY BABY BROTHER!”
Remus rolled his eyes and leaned back against the door. “Like Regulus said, it’s none of your business,” he turned to Regulus, “can we have the cloak please?”
“IS NOBODY GOING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT JAMES IS DATING MY BROTHER?”
James shrugged his robes off and tossed them over to Regulus, and Regulus quickly shrugged the invisibility cloak off and put James’s robes on.  He threw the invisibility cloak to Remus.
“HELLO??!!”
“Come on, Sirius, let’s go,” Remus said, attempting to drag Sirius away.
“No.  No.  I don’t accept this.”
“Hey, Pads, look on the bright side… we could be brother’s-in-law one day!” James said.  This only made Sirius madder.
“SO NOW YOU’RE PLANNING ON MARRYING HIM?!”
“Ugh, Sirius, grow up,” Regulus said.  “People get into relationships. They don’t need approval from their brother or from their best friend.  If they’re in love, they’re in love.”
“SO NOW YOU’RE IN LOVE?!!?”
“Merlin,” James breathed.  “Yes, Sirius.  Yes, I love him.  Sorry to break it to you.”
“BUT HE’S- HE’S PRACTICALLY A CHILD!”
“He’s literally a year younger than us,” James said.  “You and Remus were his age when I caught you two going doggy-style on McGonagall’s-“
“OKAY OKAY OKAY! ENOUGH!” Remus shouted, face bright red.
“Yeah, enough,” Regulus said quickly, looking disgusted.
“HA!” Sirius said, pointing at Reg’s disgusted face.  “See that face?  That’s exactly how I feel about the thought of the two of you doing Merlin knows what in this tiny little broom cupboard.”
“Okay, so… you’re disgusted by the thought of Reg with someone and he’s disgusted by the thought of you with someone.  Feeling’s mutual.  Get over it,” James said.
“James is right, Sirius,” Remus said, tugging at the sleeve of Sirius’s robes.  “Let them be. It’s not your place to judge.”
Sirius still looked angry and disgusted but he exhaled slowly.  “Fine,” he said.  “But let’s get one thing straight – James, if you hurt Reg I will murder you.  And Reg, if you hurt James I’ll murder you.  And if I ever see you two so much as hold hands I’ll-”
“-Sirius,” Remus hissed.  “They’re in a relationship.  Stop being an idiot.”
“FINE!” Sirius said dramatically.  “If I ever catch you with your tongue down my brother’s throat, you won’t have a tongue!”
James looked as though he was trying not to laugh, but nodded. Regulus was just rolling his eyes. “We can kiss if we want to, we don’t need your permission.”
“Look, you do whatever you need to do but I just don’t wanna see or hear it, okay?” Sirius said uncomfortably.
“Okay,” James agreed.  “But in that case, I don’t want any more of your elaborate stories about how you and Remus fucked upside down on a broomstick while-“
“OKAY!”
“You told him about that!?” Remus whispered in embarrassment.  Sirius shrugged sheepishly.
“So let’s just all agree that we all accept each other’s relationships but we don’t need to know any more than necessary?” James said. Regulus and Remus both nodded. That just left Sirius, who was still looking irritated.
“Sirius?”
“Fine,” he groaned.
“Good.”
“We need to go, Sirius,” Remus said impatiently.  “Come on.”
Sirius slowly shuffled out the room, glancing back briefly and mumbling so quietly that he could barely be heard, “Even though I hate it, I’m happy for you both”, and continuing down the corridor.
He stopped a few metres away from the broom cupboard and rushed back.
“HA! CAUGHT IN THE ACT!” he yelled, peering into the room and finding James and Regulus in the exact same spots they’d been moments ago, lips nowhere near each other.  “Oh,” he said awkwardly.  “Just testing you.  Good work.”
James rolled his eyes. “Bye, Sirius.”
“See ya,” Sirius said, leaving them alone.  They could hear Sirius talking about them all the way down the corridor until finally he couldn’t be heard anymore.
James waited a solid two minutes before closing the cupboard door and this time locking it.  He turned to Regulus and smirked.  “Wanna get back down on your knees and finish what you started?”
Regulus snorted, getting dressed.  “Maybe next time.  Sirius is the equivalent of a cold shower.”
“Aw, come on.  We just got started.  I’ll let you do that thing you love…”
Regulus was on his knees in seconds.  “I’m ready.”
James smiled triumphantly.

Uh oh, here's another shitty one shot.
*
Regulus Black, the happiest Ghost
"That's a bad colour on you"
Sirius spun, there shouldn't be anyone in this room. He reached for his wand, startled. He was picking what to wear because he was going to see Remus today and was really trying to look his best.
"You can't just show up out of nowhere and scare the shit out of me," Sirius said, aggravated but turning again to his wardrobe to search for a proper shirt, a better colour.
"Especially at these times, it's not safe. I could've-" He added, but stopped himself.
"Sure, give me all you got, I'm see-through." The voice behind him chuckled, getting nearer. "Also it's the whole point of my existence, I show up whenever; scare you. It's fun." Arrogant and annoying even after death, some things just don't change.
"Yeah, that's how you get your kicks, now."
"It's my power, and I love using it. I can't exactly scare anyone else. Stuck with you, my dearest brother."
"You can leave now, I'm busy." Sirius was buried in his pile of clothes, getting more annoyed and finding he has absolutely nothing to wear or nothing that would fit appropriate to where he's going. Sirius normally never cared what he wore, he thought he always looked good in whatever and anyone else's opinion never mattered, but it was Remus and he needed to please and impress.
"I can help, Blacks have always had style." He was now beside him. He could feel the coldness spreading out. Sirius looked up, he saw Regulus, his little brother. He was cold, pale, transparent, but he was smiling. It wasn't the first time Sirius would see him after he died. He would always show up to Sirius. He would talk to him, keep him company when the days would just be unbearable.
Regulus would always be beside him even during missions and duels with death eaters. Helping with lines like "Watch it.", "Lookout.", " on your left.". He'd been there when he cried over Remus. Sirius would talk his ears off but he never leaves, no matter how repetitive the conversation gets. He listens, and funnily enough to use the new information to tease the hell out of his brother in important situations. Like the last meeting of the order when he kept walking around making kissing faces at Remus just to irritate Sirius and get him to lose his focus and stare at the wrong person. Regulus's ghost was far happier and playful than when he was actually alive. Sirius thought of all the reasons why that made perfect sense.
Regulus had no Walburga, no missions, no pressure or responsibilities, not even the dark lord could hurt him. He only existed for his brother, and that was enough. He was always in a great manner. Only got sad when Sirius would cry or finish a mission looking miserable.
Sirius had a really hard time accepting Regulus's death. He always blamed himself for it. He was the one that left him. He abandoned him to those wretched humans they call parents. He let his brother be fooled by them, he let him sink into the darkness until it swallowed him whole. Until he died, and that was always on Sirius. Maybe if he hadn't left, his brother would still be alive. Maybe they would get through this war together. Regulus would move on with his life, be happy. Instead, he got his brother as a ghost, a voice and a shape, only Sirius could see or hear.
The first time Regulus appeared in front of Sirius, he thought he had finally slipped into madness. He knew he wasn't wired up right in the head, but to actually be able to see his own dead brother, a few days after his death, was his final straw. Especially when no one else could see him, he wasn't a normal spirit. His existence broke Sirius, it was always a reminder of what he did. Sirius would crash, breakdown, cry, sob, and scream at the pale figure. He couldn't be real. It was his mind playing sick tricks on him, maybe it was his parents doing something to him. It had to be anything but the fact that Regulus was actually there.
That was a year ago. After many sleepless nights, experiments and research, Sirius came to the realization that Regulus was a legitimate ghost, he was there for staying. He wasn't a part of Sirius's mind, and it made everything so much worse for him. His brother didn't choose afterlife, he chose to stay. When Sirius asked him, he would tell him that he wanted to be by his side, just like Sirius stayed and took all the spells and hits for him at the Grimuald place. It's torture to Sirius but he got used to it. Regulus wasn't going anywhere and Sirius was enjoying the company, maybe it's selfish but he has his brother.
"Shut up, turtle neck." Sirius eventually responded. Starting to give up on the colourful floor he sat on; piles of shirts and trousers, spread everywhere.
"They're cool, and you know it."
"Sure they are, Reggie."
"Coming from the bloke who owns half the stock of silk shirts in Britain. You buy them in every colour, it's disastrous."
"Why are you here, again?" Sirius turned his head to face his brother, who was now crouching examining the clothes, making disapproving noises and frowning.
"Fine, I'm leaving. You're on your own. Good luck." Regulus said, getting up and going towards the end of the bedroom, walking rather slowly.
"You're just going to roam around the house then come back again because you're a lonely bitch."
"You're a lonely bitch, Sirius." The Spirit responded, monotonously.
"We're both lonely, now can you please come and help, and stop being a pain in the ass, Reg." His brother just smirked at him. He knew what was coming. So he added and beat him to it. "Do not say the joke you're thinking about."
"Oh, you mean the joke about the pain in the ass? Yeah, you just stole it." Regulus was now beside him again, grinning. "Sure, I'll help. You wouldn't really want to miss tonight's pain in the ass, would you? Big bro." His grin got wider. Sirius could only facepalm as his brother was now laughing and doubling over on the floor with laughter at his very lame joke.
"I'm losing my mind here, in a crisis, and you're laughing," Sirius growled. He wanted to grab Regulus, smack him. His hand would just go through him, it makes him sad.
"So, the usual. Except, I'm the one laughing this time." Regulus said, finding his composure again.
"I'll just cancel with moony, and miss out on the opportunity to see him for the next three months," Sirius mumbled, getting up, shoulders slouched. He felt like crying.
"Or, you could wear those and have the greatest evening for the next three months." He turned around and saw Regulus trying to pick a shirt and a pair of trousers out of the pile, he failed obviously and ended up pointing at them while looking at Sirius. He walked back and picked up what his brother chose.
They were dark Jeans, a white shirt and a black leather jacket, except that it's not the one he normally wears. It's much more modest, without all the chains, pockets and excessive accessories. "Simple, yet charming," Regulus commented as Sirius was examining the clothes.
"Thank you, you're a lifesaver." Sirius looked up to meet his brother's eyes. It's insane how they're just more alive now than ever before. "Aren't I always?" Regulus beamed back at him.
"Yeah, I'd hug you." Sirius smiled, looking down at his clothes. "Don't worry, I hug me every day." Regulus was wrapping his arms around himself, "Like that, self-love.  It does wonders. You should try it."
"One day, Reg. One day, I just might. I'll go change now." Sirius said, smiling sadly.
"I have all the time in the world," Regulus spoke confidently, hands on his waist. "By the way, you really needn't stress that much about what you wear. I don't think Remus gives a shit, Sirius." Sirius cracked up, hummed in response and turned around for the second time to leave the bedroom. "and I mean it in every good way, brother." Regulus shouted from inside the bedroom as Sirius was shutting the bathroom door.
It's funny how things turned out with Sirius, he grew up in a hell house, with abusive parents. Ran away to his new family, the Potters. Left his actual brother in the hands of Voldemort. Fell in love with his male, half-blood, werewolf best friend. How he's currently fighting in a war against his former family, against everything he was raised to believe in. How he has his brother with him at any given time, comforting him when neither James nor Remus could be there. It's funny how everything in Sirius's life seems shit yet the best it could ever get at the same time. He didn't want it to end.
*
The Au I was talking about. I tried not to make it sad. Probably failed. Idk. Anyways, if you like it. Tell me. Maybe I can think of part two. I'm a Regulus stan, I have so much Regulus content and would write essays and essays about him. :)))))).
His relationship with Sirius is just so precious. :')
This is not in anyway edited sorry for the mistakes.

Chapter 35
Tumblr media
"I don't even know if I'll be able to walk without the crutch," I lean against the wall, watching the others choose a dress for prom.
"That is no excuse for not wearing a nice dress,” says Marlene.
“You don’t need to walk on it, just wear it," Lily adds.
"Better just wear normal clothes and use my crutch to trip others–“
“Don't be grumpy. It’ll be fun. It’s our last party at Hogwarts!” says Jenna.
"Won't you choose a dress?" Marlene asks.
“Jenna already chose it for me.”
"You say it as if I control you.”
"Because you do," I joke. She rolls her eyes.
"At least I know that Black will thank me for it, because you’re ungrateful.”
I laugh.
“Don't overreact. I agreed with the dress. It’s not that important. The real gossip is that it’ll be the first dance in which the two dungheads will finally be together without trying to kill each other,” I point out to Lily.
The others squeal with excitement making Lily blush.
“That's beautiful! We’ll finally be with Lily without her bickering about James!”adds Marlene.
“I never did that!” Lily exclaims.
“Yes you did!” We all say.
"Even Jenna and I knew it," I comment. I move my crutch a little, but it’s a big mistake, I hit one of the boxes next to me causing it to fall and the clothes that were inside are left disorderly on the floor, also, I lose my balance and end up hitting my knee.
"Ok, P. Why don't you wait outside?"
I frown. “You're talking to me like I’m a little girl.”
"Here, go by some sweets,” She says handing me money.
I make a face.
“Fine.”
I leave the store and walk to the nearby bench. I'll rest first, my knee still hurts.
For a few minutes I only see people passing from one place to another. Some girls also look for their prom dresses, makeup, accessories. They squeal while discussing their ideas with their friends. I laugh at their excitement, at least some get to enjoy this.
"Oh hello, Persephone,” I turn to my right to meet Peter.
"Hey, Pete,” He sits next to me.
"How long have you been sitting here?" He asks.
"Uh, just a few minutes, why?”
"Oh, no nothing. You, uh- haven't you seen anything strange?”
"Not yet, but it's still early. " I joke. "Why do you say that?”
“No reason,” He responds quickly.
"Are you okay, Peter? You're sweating a lot,” I point to his wet hair.
"Yes! Yes, I'm okay. Just, uh, a little nervous. It’s almost graduation and there are many things to do…”
"Really? I thought you just had to get a tux, you already have a date, what else do you have planned?”
"Uh, you know, I want that night to be special for the- the girl, my date, yeah,” He looks away.
"If you say so… Need help?”
"What?" He turns back to me. “No, no thanks. I'm fine, everything’s fine,” He looks to his right again. Rosier, Regulus and some other Slytherin boys stare back at us.
"Peter? Sure you're okay? Are they bothering you?”
"I should go. Goodbye, Persephone,” He doesn’t wait for my answer and runs in the opposite direction from the others.
That was very strange.
My gaze returns to Regulus. I sigh when he continues on his way with his friends.
How did he take the news about Alphard? Or maybe he already knew. I wish I could talk to him like I used to.
***
After a month, our student life finally ends. Very strange weeks, from my physical therapy with Madame Pomfrey, the other therapy with McGonagall and Dumbledore, although this was not planned, but it helped a lot to talk to the real adults about everything that I went through.
They didn't provide any solutions to my questions, but I still appreciate the help and advice. Dumbledore had a lot of muggle metaphors and references. I hope that one day they serve me and it’s not just a sign that the Headmaster has already gone crazy.
The time with my friends and boyfriend was quite relaxing. Talking about the future with them no longer sounded so overwhelming. We all panic about what might happen, but at least we are together.
The graduation ceremony was quite emotional. Apollo, Jane and Atlas congratulated me. My friends met my family and the little boy loved the attention, although he’s still a bit upset with Sirius. He was expecting another small gift and when he received nothing, his approval disappeared.
Only until the day of the big party where everyone wore their best clothes, did I realize that it was all over. Next year we won’t return to Hogwarts.
No more jokes in the hallways, late-night meetings with Remus, we no longer have to try to calm Lily before exams. We’ll no longer be able to see the gardens, go to the kitchens. One more minute trying to remember my entire experience in a magic school and I’ll cry.
"Several people are upset because they continue to trip near our table,” says Sirius handing me a glass of punch. “Do you have any idea what it could be? Because, it can't be you. You don't have the cane anymore,” He smiles raising an eyebrow.
“Maybe it's their long dresses. They must watch that,” I smile innocently and he shakes his head.
Oh, boy. Sirius looks like a real star. His long hair is slicked back, his tux fits him perfectly, and that beautiful smile lights up the entire room. Since when did I become such a cheesy girl? I don't know, but I blame him. Him and his perfect face.
"Admiring me again, darling?”
"I can't help it," I say without regret. Why should I?
"You flatter me, but you’re not the only one in front of someone dazzling.”
I laugh out loud.
"Are we really flirting that bad?" He laughs too.
“I don't think we ever tried. It's fun,” He drags his chair closer to me and puts his arm on the back of my chair. "This party is not so bad, is it?”
"I'm sorry I can't dance any longer. I feel like I will sound like an old woman, but my knees can't take it anymore.”
“Don't worry. I like to be here. Only with you,” He kisses my temple. I lean on his shoulder.
The others must be having fun. They laugh, dance and sing to the rhythm of the music. I think this is the first time I've seen Lily and Remus so relaxed. I'm even beginning to doubt if they didn’t get drunk prior the party, but I don’t judge, we are all of legal age.
Sirius and I listen to the music changing from afar to a slow, romantic song. James and Lily don't hesitate to be the first to share it. Some people are still a bit shocked by their official relationship, but I think it doesn't matter at this point. Jenna and Marlene dance near them. They all look so cute, and even Remus got his last dance, although it didn’t last long.
“Percy," Sirius calls after a while. I turn to see him. "Uh, there’s something I should talk to you about.”
"Are you pregnant?”
He laughs. "Not yet.”
"What's going on?”
“I know that after all this, you’ll continue to live with Apollo, but I wanted to ask you something. You don't have to answer me now, not even this week. I just want to give you the idea and you have time to think about it,” He says nervously.
“Okay?" I say confused.
"I wanted to know… Okay, the other day I got to know how much money my uncle Alphard left me and I was thinking about maybe using that money to buy an apartment. Not that is not cool with the Potters or anything. It's just that, I think it would be a good idea.”
"That's great, Sirius.”
Sirius living alone in an apartment, could be fun, watching him solve all the domestic problems alone and stuff.
“Yeah, that's what Euphemia and Fleamont said, even James, but I also thought– Maybe you… Uh, well, do you want to move in with me?”
“What?"
His nerves increase.
“Only if you want, you know. There is no pressure and it's not because we have to do something else, I don't want you to misunderstand things,” He speaks quickly. "I thought it’d be great to be with you and it’s also safer, we would protect each other. As usual.”
"Sirius, I don't know.”
“Think about it, love. I'll see some places with the Potters, everything will be fine no matter what you decide. When you’re ready you can tell me.”
Live with Sirius? Just the two? I'm not going to lie, it sounds good. But I still feel like I'm not physically ready yet and I'd be better off with Jane and Apollo. Just for a while.
But, moving in with my boyfriend. Not in a million years would I have thought of that possibility.
***
I didn't think I would cry on my last day. Right now I have to leave the room that I shared for seven years with Jenna. But what surprises me the most is that I’m not crying about leaving school, but because of the little letter that I found on my pillow.
Dear Persephone,
Despite all the problems we've had, I always considered you a sister. Part of my family, with or without my parents.
Hopefully one day you can forgive me for my past and future actions.
I can only tell you that I will always think of you in any and it is never my intention to hurt you in any way. I hope your life is better than mine. Take care of my older brother and your future together.
Since I met you, I discovered that my family motto is wrong. Family does not always have to be pure.
I will always love you, Persephone.
Do not worry about me. I will take care of you from afar.
Reggie x
I fold the letter, hold it to my chest, and squeeze it against me. In an ideal world, Regulus would be with us celebrating a new era. I’d be holding him so tight that he would complain. In an ideal world, I would protect one of my best friends forever.
***
"And I thought you wouldn't buy any nonsense with the inheritance money," I say crossing my arms.
"What are you talking about, Singh?" James says squealing like a little kid. "This is the coolest thing I've ever seen!”
"Your child is overexciting mine, Persephone,” says Lily to my side.
“It's not like he can help it. He thinks he can do things by himself,” I wince.
"You don’t like it?" Sirius pouts. He is seated on the new bike that he just bought.
"If I thought before that you could kill yourself with a broom, now I think you will kill yourself with that, darling,” I smile sarcastically.
"But do you like it?”
I roll my eyes.
"Yes, Sirius. It's pretty.”
James and Sirius keep talking about… things I don't understand. They both laugh and point to each part.
"I didn't think they would really do it,” Remus says from my left side. Lily and I look at him in surprise.
"You knew?”
“I thought they were joking,” he sighs. “Seven years and I keep falling for this. My bad.”
"Sirius, do you know how we could make this bike even cooler?”
"I hear you.”
"How about we use a little magic?”
"You, my friend. You’re a genious!" Sirius points out.
"This just keeps getting worse," says Lily.
“I don't want to see more. I have therapy,” I say and enter Apollo's house leaving Lily in mom mode with the two children and their new toy.
"Auntie, Phoney!" Atlas greets me from the chair that he shares with his mother, who is preparing some things for my therapy.
"Nephew, Atlas! I just saw you five minutes ago, but it's nice that you continue to get excited when you see me!” I sit next to him and tickle his little head. He laughs, but then he looks behind me. “Remooh." He points it out.
Remus smiles at the little boy and sits in a single chair.
"Don't you want to be with your friends?" I ask teasingly.
“They are very close to drooling on the bike. Atlas behaves better than them.”
"Yes?" The boy asks and we laugh.
"That's right, my love.”
"Ready?" says Jane. Then the torture begins.
At first it was very difficult, I couldn't help screaming, but now it's better. I do my best to relax or at least endure the pain.
"Just a couple more weeks and you'll be better,” reports my sister-in-law. She smiles. “And now, talking about the two children outside. You better get used to it. You’re lucky that Sirius chose a motorcycle. Your brother gets like this every time he gets an old coin. Ever since he knew it was a muggle hobby, he was interested in it. He has a huge collection.”
“No wonder my brother is so weird. Since we were little, he got excited about very boring things all the time…”
“Actually, collecting coins is more interesting than you think,” Remus adds and I look at him with a raised eyebrow. "Ok, I get it.”
"It hurt?" Atlas asks pointing at my leg.
“Not so much anymore.”
"I'll help you,” He leans towards me and with my help he gets up a little and kisses my cheek.
"Thanks, Atlas," I laugh.
"Will you hit me if I say you look nice with a baby?" Remus says with a mischievous smile.
“Hit you? Persephone!” Jane scolds me.
“Don't believe him, Janie. It is an exaggeration.”
“When she had the cane, she tripped me and I told her that if she kept complaining about the pain, no one would want to help her. I still have the bruise.”
"You have such a weak skin,” I pout.
Jane laughs shaking her head.
"But I still think you should have a baby.”
I roll my eyes.
"I already have one and he bought a motorcycle when I wasn't looking at him.”
"Wouldn't you like to have children, Persephone?" asks Jane.
"I don’t know. Maybe. I like children, I just don't know if I want to have one. They’re better when I can return them to their parents,” They both laugh. “What about you, Wolfie?”
"First I need a girlfriend.”
"Oh yeah. I almost forgot!” I roll my eyes. “Answer me.”
“Maybe," Remus replies.
"Well, for now I'll just be the favorite aunt of two children," I kiss Atlas's cheek.
Jane gets up when she finishes healing me.
"Yes, speaking of which…”
"What's going on?”
She smiles nervously.
"You will be an aunt to three babies.”
"What?" I screech.
“They're twins,” She announces.
"You and my brother need another hobby,” I grimace.
"Wow, three children!” Remus says surprised. "And so fast! Percy, can you imagine your children being friends with James and Lily's? It would be total chaos!”
"Oh, don't go to that dark place, Remus. You would be the official babysitter of that chaos,” I joke.
“Oh, no…”

All Of the Stars - Chapter 2: Fall
I solemnly swear that I am up to no good!
Tumblr media
Chapter 2: Fall
You and I, learning to speak With kisses on cheeks You and I, we're lifted over the edge And I will fall for you, and I will fall for you If I fall for you, would you fall too? Ed Sheeran
**********************************************
"Cassie?"
There was no response from the girl who had her head buried in her pillow.
"Cassie!" Marlene McKinnon tried a little louder.
"Let me try" Alice Fortescue said. "CASSIE!"
"Mmm" was the only response she got from the girl.
"Well, at least she's not dead" she told Marlene.
"What's going on?" Lily Evans asked, coming out of the bathroom and then spotted the girl, still in her bed with her hair spread all over her pillow. "Oh, allow me, ladies" she said walking over to the sleeping girl and clearing her throat. "Cassie, Remus is outside with chocolate chip pancakes and bacon-"
"What! Where?" Cassie snapped her head up and got out of bed as quickly as she could, tripping with her blankets and ending on the floor. "Ouch! That was low, Evans!" she said underneath the blankets while the other three girls laughed.
"Is the only way to get you out of bed" Lily said between laughs.
"Ugh, what time is it?" she asked, standing up and trying to fix her hair a little.
"Time for breakfast!" Marlene said excitedly before she and Alice made their way out.
"There better be pancakes when I come down" Cassie said glaring at the door when the girls were out. "Well, I'm going to go get cleaned up" she announced to the remaining friend in the room. "Aren't you going down for breakfast?"
"Yeah, I'm meeting Sev. Just want to make sure I have everything I need for today's classes" she said, grabbing all of her books.
"Ew, Snape" Cassie said grabbing her things before heading to the bathroom.
"Come on, Cassie, don't you think we're a bit old to continue this 'dispute' between the two of you?"
"Dispute? Is that your fancy way of saying that he hates me?" Cassie said, laughing a little.
"He doesn't hate you" Lily defended him and Cassie raised an eyebrow at her. "Alright, he probably hates you but only because James and Sirius taunt him to no end! I don't think he has something against you, personally" she informed her.
"I'd think again if I were you" Cassie told her.
"Come on, Cassie. Aren't you passed this whole childish thing? At least you could be like Remus who is decent to him. I know James and Sirius are too immature to even think about that... no offense" she said, a little sorry.
"Please, none taken" she said, laughing a little. "Look, I'd be the first one to call out my brother on his idiotic ways, but when it comes to Sniv- Snape" she corrected when she saw the look her friend was giving to her. "I actually think they're not that wrong about it" she admitted. "And I never understood how you're friends with him... you're so different!"
"Well, we've been friends since we were kids" Lily reminded her.
She knew all about Snape being the one telling Lily that she was a witch and that they had grown up together. But still, to her, the boy was just weird. He was always by himself or living under Lucius Malfoy's robes. She had kept an eye on him, she had never trusted him.
"Yeah, and I was friends with Lucius Malfoy when we were kids but people change, Lily" Cassie told her.
"That's different! Malfoy is a jerk" she said rolling her eyes.
"So is Snape" Cassie muttered but Lily heard her. "Look, I'm just saying that James and Siri aren't as bad as you think and Snape may not be as good as you think" she told her before getting up and making her way to the bathroom.
Lily decided to shrug it off. Maybe she was never going to be able to get the rest of her friends to get along with Severus, but their friendship meant a lot to her. She walked out of her dorm and made her way to the Great Hall. When she entered, she noticed all of the Marauders sitting with Marlene and Alice. James smirked and winked at her when he saw her. She simply rolled her eyes and made her way to find her Slytherin friend, not noticing the disappointed look on James as he turned back to his friends.
"She's not going to make it" he said, smirking and looking at the big clock in the Great Hall.
"You always do this, Potter" Sirius said with an even bigger smirk. "You lose faith in her and she always surprises you at the last minute" he said, glancing at the entrance of the Great Hall.
"It's almost time to go to class" James told him.
"She still has time" Remus suddenly said, not even taking his eyes from the book he was reading.
"Sorry Sirius, but I have to side with James on this one" Marlene intervened.
"She was still asleep when we came down and we were a bit late" Alice told them.
"Don't underestimate my sister, Marlene darling" Sirius said winking at the girl and making her giggle.
As if on cue, the door to the Great Hall opened revealing the Black sister running through it and making her way to her friends. "Morning, everyone" she said with a small smile.
"No!"
"Told you" Sirius said smirking at James who was sulking in his seat as he paid ten sickles to his friend.
"You should really have a little more faith in me, Jamie" she said taking a seat next to him and messing his hair.
"Here" Remus said placing a plate full of pancakes in front of her.
"Pancakes!" she said, throwing herself arms around Remus and kissing his cheek. "Thank you!"
"Cassie I need to breathe!" Remus said with a little laugh and hoping nobody noticed the blush on his cheeks.
"Hey! How come I don't ever get a greeting like that?" Sirius complained. "I'm your brother!"
"You didn't save me pancakes" she said shrugging her shoulders as she began eating. "So, what's first today?"
"Well, we have Divination" Sirius said pointing at James, Peter and himself.
"We have Ancient Runes" Remus informed her.
"Ugh, remind me why I agreed to take that course again?" she said taking a sip of her pumpkin juice.
"Because you said Divination was really a waste of time and just making up the class as it goes" Sirius reminded her.
"Well, it is" she argued.
"And that's why you're stuck in Ancient Runes" James mocked her.
"So... nap period" Cassie said with a small laugh.
"Cassie! Ancient Runes is one of the most elemental courses in school. It's-"
"The foundation of everything in the wizarding world" James, Sirius and Cassie said at the same time as he finished. Remus glared a little at them. "We know, Remmy" Cassie said with a small smile.
"Um, Cassie?" the group of teenagers turned their heads to face Regulus Black, standing behind his sister.
"Are you lost, Regulus?" Sirius asked smirking.
"Siri!" Cassie turned to warn his brother. "Can I help you Reg?"
"Uh, could I talk to you... alone?" he asked, looking down. Cassie got up from her seat and followed her little brother.
"What's going on? Are you alright?" she asked a bit worried. She knew Regulus sometimes got picked on by the Slytherins for having his two siblings in Gryffindor.
"Yes, I'm fine" he said with a small smile. "I just... um needed your help" he told her.
"Oh, sure, with what?"
"I want to try out for the Quidditch Team this year" he told her.
"Really? That's great Reggie! I'm so happy for you!" she said hugging her little brother. She had known he always liked Quidditch, but he had never really wanted to try out before for some reason. "So, what do you need my help with?"
"Well, I wanted to try out for Seeker" he admitted. "So, I was wondering if you could maybe help me because... well, you're the best Seeker in school" he told her.
"Ow, Reggie" Cassie said messing his hair a little. Regulus laughed but fixed his hair. "Of course I'll help you! But don't expect me to go easy on you whenever we play against you guys" she told him and he nodded knowingly. "I have a free period tomorrow, does that work for you?"
"Yeah, that's perfect!" he said hugging her again. "Thanks, Cassie" he said smiling before walking back to the Slytherin table.
"So, what did Regulus want?" Sirius asked as soon as Cassie came back to the table.
"Oh, just some advice on the OWLs and everything. He's a bit nervous" she lied. She wasn't about to tell Sirius and James that she was going to help the new Seeker of their worst rival. Thankfully they bought it and went back to their breakfast, but she saw Remus eyeing her suspiciously.
"Come on, let's go before we're late" he said getting up and Cassie and Alice stood up and followed him.
"Yeah, we wouldn't want to miss a second of it" Cassie mocked him. Remus rolled his eyes and walked ahead of them.
"You guys are adorable" Alice said laughing a bit looking at Remus and then back at Cassie.
"Adorable?" Cassie asked laughing.
"Oh, come on Cassie, you and Remus would make such a good couple" she told her.
"What? What are you talking about, Alice? Remus and I are just friends" Cassie said with a nervous laugh.
"I know but, well is just something I've always thought" the girl admitted. "He's really sweet with you, and, even if you don't notice, you are different towards him too."
"Different? Different, how?" Cassie asked confused. She would think she'd know if she acted differently towards him... right?
"Well, I don't know, just different than you act the way around James, for example" she told her.
"Uh-" Cassie didn't have a chance to reply because they had caught up to Remus, who was waiting for them with someone.
"Hey girls" Frank Longbottom said joining the group. "Hi, Alice" he said blushing a little bit when he saw the girl.
"Hi, Frank" the girl said with a dreamy smile. Cassie smirked a bit to herself when the tables turned.
"Oh, hello Frank" Cassie greeted the shy boy. "Um, Remmy, I uh forgot my book in the Common Room" Cassie said suddenly and Alice widened her eyes at her. "Would you accompany me to get it?"
"What? Cassie, not only were you late for breakfast, you forget your book and now you're gonna make us late for Ancient Runes! If you forgot it you go to get- ouch!"
"Why thank you, Remus, that is very nice of you. Would you guys excuse us?"
Remus glared at his friend, who had elbowed him in the stomach before she dragged him away from their friends.
"Cassiopeia!"
"Ah! Take that back, Remus John Lupin!"
"Stop that!"
"You started it!"
"If you think I'm going to go all the way back with you to the Common Room you have another thing coming!"
"Oh hush up! I just said that to get away from them" she said rolling her eyes and getting her book out of her bag. "See?"
"Get away from them? But Frank and Alice are our friends" Remus said confused.
"Oh, my sweet little Remmy" she said laughing a little as she put her book back. She grabbed his arm and they started making their way to their class again. "I'm not trying to get away from them because I don't like them. I love Frank and Alice. I'm trying to get away from them so they could be alone and act like that" she said, pointing at the couple in front of them in the hall where they noticed Frank taking Alice's bag and carrying it himself as they both blushed and walked to class.
"Ohhhh" Remus said understanding it and looking back at his friend who was smirking at the couple. "How long have you known this?"
"Known what?"
"About Frank and Alice" he told her.
"Oh, I don't know. I've always thought they would make a good couple and I've noticed the way they look at each other" she answered as they entered the class and deciding to ignore the irony of this and what they had just talked about with Alice. "I just think they're both too shy to do something about it, so maybe they need a little help" she suggested.
"You can't just assume that two people are going to fall in love like that, Cassie" Remus said with a small chuckle.
"Oh, really? Then why are they sitting together?" Cassie said looking at the couple in front of the class and smirking at Remus.
"That doesn't mean anything" Remus argued.
"How would you know? Maybe it does" she said as they sat down. "Maybe I should've taken Divination" she said laughing and making Remus laugh too.
"Well, it would've been very lonely without you here" he told her, smiling.
Cassie opened her mouth to respond but instead, she just smiled back.
"Alright everyone, settle down" they both turned around to pay attention as the class started.
But Cassie wasn't paying attention. She was still thinking about what Alice had said. Did she really act differently around Remus? She turned to look at her friend who was taking notes fully concentrated in the class. Remus would look up from his notes to look at the Professor from time to time and she felt something in her stomach at how handsome he was. Shut up! You cannot do this! He's your friend! He's your BEST friend! He's Sirius' best friend! This is pointless! She shook her head to get those thoughts out and tried to concentrate on the class. After a very long, and boring class, according to Cassie, it was time Defense Against the Dark Arts. They met with James and Peter in the middle of the hall.
"Give it a rest, Cassie" Remus told her.
"They're holding hands! And he's carrying her books!" Cassie told Remus as they watched Frank and Alice ahead of them.
"What are you guys talking about?" James asked.
"Frank and Alice" Cassie told them but was quickly interrupted by her brother.
"Cassie! There you are my sweet little sister" Sirius came running towards his sister. "Have I told you how absolutely stunning you look today?"
"What do you want?" Cassie asked him, arching her eyebrow at her twin.
"What? I am offended that you would think-" Sirius started but the other four looked at him with the same expression Cassie had. "Alright, fine. I need a favor" he admitted. "There's this girl that happens to be in your Ancient Runes class-"
"No" Cassie said rolling her eyes and continuing her way to the class with the rest of them following her.
"What? No? But I'm your brother!" Sirius said walking up to her. "I would do the same for you!"
"No, you wouldn't!" she said without even looking at him. "And even if you would, the difference is that I would actually take the guy seriously if I were ever to date him" she told him.
"Well, maybe I really like this girl!" Sirius defended himself.
"Yeah, and maybe, I really like Severus Snape" she told him.
"Okay, that's not even funny as a joke, that's just disgusting" James said interrupting the twins.
"Come on, just at least find out her name for me?" Sirius asked doing his big puppy eyes at her and Cassie sighed in defeat.
"Ugh, fine, if it'll get you to shut up" she told him. Sirius hugged her tightly and carried her, spinning her around.
"Yes! You're the best, sis!" he told her as he put her down. "Hey, look! Longbottom's got himself a girl" Sirius said smirking at the couple in front of them.
"They're not together!" Remus argued.
"I think someone is upset about being wrong" Cassie said in a little song and Remus glared at her, as they reached their class and sat down close to Marlene and Lily.
"I am not!"
"What is Remus pouting about?" Lily asked.
"I am not pouting!" Remus pouted childishly.
"Yes, you are" Cassie said smiling. "And he's pouting because he's upset because he's wrong about Frank and Alice and I am right" she explained with a mocking smile.
"Oh, it was about time. Good for them" Marlene said smiling too.
"I think it's lovely" Lily said smiling dreamily at the couple.
"I think you're lovely" James said raising his eyebrow at Lily.
"Ugh, bugger off Potter" she said rolling her eyes at him.
"Go out with me, Evans" James said sitting on the table in front of her.
"I wouldn't go out with you if it was a choice between you and the giant squid!"
"You know, you look very pretty when you're angry" James told her, flashing his charming smile at her.
Before everyone knew what was happening, James was thrown across the room. They turned to look at Lily who had her wand out and, as if nothing had happened, returned back to her notes.
"He's gonna get killed one day, isn't he?" Cassie asked Remus, Sirius, and Peter.
"Most likely, yes" Remus said as they all nodded.
**********************************************
After lunch, the four Marauders were hanging around by the Great Lake. James was playing with the Snitch, letting it zoom further and further away but always managing to grab it at the last second. Peter was hypnotized by the snitch's extremely quick movements and couldn't help but gasp and applaud every time James caught it.
"I'm telling you guys, it would be brilliant!"
"It's a dead case, Prongs" Sirius said rolling his eyes. "And put that away, will you? Before Wormtail wets himself with excitement or my sister finds you and kicks your ass!"
"If it bothers you" James said stuffing the Snitch back in his pocket. "But my plan to woo Lily is not a dead case!" he said glaring at his friend.
"Absolutely hopeless" Remus said not even taking his eyes off his book. "Is getting pathetic, really-"
"Pathetic? How is it pathetic, Moony?" James asked offended. Sirius sat up and did his best impression of James.
"Oh Merlin's beard! It's Lily! Someone, please hold me because I am... having... an eyegasm!" he said as he pretended to faint in the last part and Remus held him trying not to laugh even harder than he already was, and so was Peter.
"Shut up! I am not like that!" James argued childishly.
"Quite close, actually" Remus said between laughs.
"Well, whatever! I don't see any of you having a girl!" he complained childishly.
"First of all, you don't have a girl" Sirius said as he finished laughing. "And secondly, I can have any girl that I want" he said, shrugging his shoulders.
"Well, I'm still closer than any of you to have an actual girlfriend" James told them. "I mean yours don't count, Peter always gets scared to talk to girls" he continued and they all saw Peter's cheeks turning red. "And Remus... um... well..." he said stopping and thinking. "Huh, why don't you have a girlfriend?"
"I'm sorry?" Remus asked, looking up from his book.
"Well, I don't know. I just realized that I've never seen you with a girl" he commented.
"You know, come to think of it, I've never known if you've ever liked someone" Peter said thinking back.
"Hmm, neither have I" Sirius said equally confused.
Remus felt his cheeks heating up. He would be lying if he said he didn't see anyone in that way. But it wasn't as easy for him as it was for his friends. He had a 'furry little problem' as James put it. They could date whomever they wanted, but Remus really had to think about his condition. He was pretty sure no one in their right mind would ever want to go out with him, let alone love him, like that. The truth was, every day he got more scared about the day that would come when all of his friends would find that special someone, get married and have kids and he would be left all alone to be 'Uncle Moony' to their kids. And for some reason, he dreaded the day when Cassie would find that someone the most.
"What do you mean?" Remus asked getting a little nervous.
"Well, Padfoot has dated a lot of girls-" Peter continued.
"That's right, I have!" he said proudly and high-fiving James.
"James dated a couple of girls too, and now he's obsessed with Lily-"
"I am not obsessed with her!" he argued.
"Mate, it's becoming a problem, really" Sirius told him.
"And you guys have known about all of my crushes on girls" he added. "But you've never told us when you've liked someone" he pointed out and the other two Marauders thought of it as well.
"Hmm, I think Wormtail's right" James said.
"Why does it matter?" Remus asked, annoyed.
"Come on, mate! How come you've never told us this stuff? We're your best friends" Sirius told him.
"Is not that I don't tell you, is just... well... there's no one" he said looking down but James wasn't buying it.
"Really? No one at all? Come on, Moony! This is a big school and there are a lot of pretty girls here. Not like my Lily, of course-"
"Problem" Sirius coughed as Peter laughed. "Sorry, my bad."
"What's the point of it, guys, really? No one is going to go out with a beast! I could never ask them to do it!"
"Wait, is that what this is about?" Sirius asked him. "Moony, that's ridiculous!"
"Yeah! You can't let a furry little problem stop you from having a life" James told him.
"Is not just the 'furry little problem', Prongs" he said sighing. "It's more complicated than that" he told them.
"How come?" Peter asked again.
"You know what? I don't have time for this! I'm going to the Library" he said getting up and walking away from his friends before they could stop him.
"He needs to get laid" Sirius said sitting back against the tree and Peter agreed. But James just eyed his friend walking back to the castle, knowing there was something more to it.
Remus walked as fast as he could, hoping his friends weren't following him. He didn't want to face the fact that his feelings for a certain someone were getting stronger. He couldn't let it out, especially not to them. Not to Sirius, he would kill him. He made his way to the Library, hoping to find some peace there. He was too distracted with his thoughts that he didn't notice he was already there until he bumped into someone.
"Wow, I believe you just fell for me" he heard the one particular voice he didn't really need to hear right now.
"Cassie! Sorry, did I hurt you? Are you alright?" he said nervously getting up and helping her up to her feet.
"Relax, Remmy, I'm fine" she said smiling up at him.
"What are you doing here?" he asked curiously and saw she had a book in her hand, but she quickly put it away.
"N-nothing, just um... Lily asked me to pick up a book for her" she said smiling. "What about you?"
"Just needed to be somewhere where the Marauders weren't" he said with a small smile. She knew what he meant. She loved them, well, Peter... not so much, but the other two, and she knew sometimes they were just too much for Remus and he needed a break.
"Well, I'll leave you to your things then" she said as she was about to walk past him but she felt a gentle hand grabbing her arm.
"You don't have to leave" he said looking down and she could swear she could see a shade of red in his cheeks.
"Well, to be honest, I don't have anywhere to go" she told him smiling, so they both made their way to an empty table.
Cassie got a book out of her bag and started reading. Remus also got his book out but he wasn't reading. He smiled when he noticed the book in her hand. 'The Beauty and The Beast'. He had given her that book last year for her birthday and she loved it. She read it every time she could. He noticed how her hair fell a little at her face and felt his stomach do little flips. Cassie suddenly turned to look up and saw him looking at her. Great! She caught you staring like some creep!
"What? Is there something in my hair?" she asked running a hand through her hair and trying to fix it, but only making it messier.
"N-no" Remus said with a shy smile. "I'm just... happy you liked that book" he covered up and Cassie smiled at him.
"I love it" she told him before she went back to reading. Remus cursed to himself. Yes, he was falling for his best friend.
**********************************************
Potions. Remus hated Potions, James hated Potions, Sirius despised Potions. Not only because of the subject itself but also because for the past six years, they've had Potions with the Slytherins. But, surprisingly enough, Cassie liked Potions. She could even say she loved Potions. It wasn't just because she was better than the rest of the Marauders, even Remus. She just generally liked it. And this year, she needed Professor Slughorn's help with a little project she had been wanting to do since the beginning of summer.
"Hello, class, and welcome" Horace Slughorn said in the front of the class. As he began explaining what this year would consist, and all of the potions around the class, Cassie could hear James whispering behind her and Remus.
"I think Peter did the right thing by not getting even an A on his OWL, he got free of this class" he said chuckling and making his two friends laugh.
"Shh! I like Potions" Cassie complained.
"Why? Because of your stupid little Fan Club?" Sirius asked glaring at the other side of the class where the Slytherins were. Remus felt slightly uncomfortable at the way Evan Rosier was eyeing at Cassie. And Mulciber and Avery kept on whispering to themselves while checking her out.
"Ugh, you're the one to talk" she said glaring at her brother as they all noticed the girls from Slytherin looking back at Sirius. They all giggled when he looked their way and waved at them.
"Comes with the looks, Cass" he said, smirking as he stroked his hair back with his hand and Cassie could swear she heard the girls sigh dreamily. "You should know" he said winking.
"Oh, so would you like me to take advantage of my looks and flirt with every brute in this class?"
"Don't you dare, young lady!" Sirius threatened.
"I thought you said-"
"Shh!" they all turned to look at the front of the class. Not to Professor Slughorn, he was oblivious of the four friends talking during his speech. The one that had silenced them was none other than Lily Evans, who was glaring at them along with Severus Snape. "Would you please be quiet?"
"Sorry, Lily" Cassie apologized, but Sirius wasn't having any of it.
"Hey look! It's Snivelly, I see you haven't found a potion to make your hair less greasy... oh wait! It does exist! It's called shampoo. Might want to try it sometime" he said laughing a little loud along with James and even Remus and Cassie laughed a little.
"Cassie!" Lily complained but Cassie didn't care. She never liked Snape and she didn't understand why Lily did.
"...And whoever makes the best potion gets to pick out any potion they want to do with my help, of course..."
"Wait, what?" Cassie suddenly asked, hearing Professor Slughorn for the first time.
"Miss Black?" he asked, confused.
"Sorry Professor" she said a little nervous. "Um, I was just wondering if you could uh, repeat that last part?"
"Oh, certainly" he said happily. "The first one to finish today's potion perfectly will win the opportunity of making any potion of their preference with my help" he repeated kindly. "Now, as I was saying -"
"Wait, hold on, so if we win, we get to do any potion? Any potion at all?" she asked with her smile getting wider as their friends looked at her more confused than ever.
"As long as is not dangerous, and Professor Dumbledore approves, yes" he finished. "So, can anybody tell me what this potion is?" he said revealing the next cauldron in the front table. Almost immediately, Lily raised her hand. "Yes, Miss Evans?"
"Is Amortentia" she answered. "It's the most powerful love potion in existence" she finished.
"Correct! Ten points for Gryffindor" Professor Slughorn said happily. "Now, can anyone tell me what the Amortentia Potion smells like? Ah, yes, Miss Black?"
"The Amortentia Potion is rumored to smell differently to each person, reminding each person of the things that they find most attractive" she said with a hint of blush on her cheeks.
"That's right, another ten points for Griffyndor" he said. "Could you demonstrate, Miss Black? What do you smell?"
"M-me?" she asked a little nervous. "W-well, I smell um, chocolate and uh- the smell of tulips a-and an old book" she finished, looking down hoping no one would notice her red cheeks. But one person did.
"That's very good" Professor Slughorn said. "Now, Amortentia doesn't create actual love, of course. That's impossible. But it does cause a powerful infatuation or obsession. For that reason, it is probably the most dangerous potion in this room" he said as he turned around and found a sea of dreamy faces leaning into the vapors. Instantly, he closed a cover onto de cauldron bringing them round.
"Please, I don't need a stupid potion to have girls sighing all over me" Sirius said smirking.
"Wow, I didn't think it was possible for someone to be even fuller of himself than Potter" Lily said, smirking back at the group.
"Very well, so, today's potion. The student who, in the hour that remains, manages to brew an acceptable Draught of Living Death, the recipe for which can be found on page ten of your textbook, will win the prize" he said as the class seized in excitement. "You should know that in all the years of my tenure at Hogwarts, not once did a student brew a potion of sufficient quality to claim this prize. In any event... good luck!"
"Oh, please, what a waste of time" James said rolling his eyes.
"Shut up Potter! I'm winning this prize!" to everyone's surprise, it was Cassie who snapped at the boy.
"Why do you want to win so much?" Remus asked, curiously as they all went to get their ingredients. Cassie got a little nervous but still managed to answer the tall boy.
"There's um- a potion I've been wanting to do but I think I need Professor Slughorn's help to do it" she replied.
"Which potion?" he asked curiously.
"Um, Felix Felicis" she said hoping he would let it go. But again, she was wrong.
"What, why?"
"I don't know. I read about it and thought it was interesting so, I just do" she said looking anywhere but him. He knew she was lying but he had a limited time to complete his potion, so he let it go for now.
"Alright" he said walking back to his place.
"Alright, I'm gonna need your help" she said turning to face Sirius and James once Remus was gone.
"What?" James asked dumbfounded while Sirius looked behind them to make sure she wasn't talking to someone else.
"Our help?" he asked just as confused as his friend.
"Yes" she said in an obvious tone.
"Need I remind you that we barely got an E in our OWL for this class?"
"I know that" she said, rolling her eyes. "I need you to help me screw up Snape's potion" she admitted.
"Oh, sure" they both agreed without any hesitation.
"Not that I'm complaining, but... why?" James asked.
"Because he's wickedly good at Potions and I want to beat him" she explained. both boys turned to look at her confused. "I really want to win" she pleaded.
"Why?" Sirius asked all of the sudden. Cassie bit her bottom lip, knowing she wasn't going to be able to hide this for a long time.
"If you help me win, I'll tell you" she simply said.
"Fair enough" he said not needing any more explanations from his sister. Cassie smiled up at them gratefully and went back to her place.
Cassie wasn't a fool. She knew Snape was extremely good at Potions. He would always finish first and his potions were always flawless. She always noticed him scribbling different things on his Potion's Book. So, that's why, ever since last year, she charmed all of his Potions books, so that whenever he wrote something, it would also appear in her book. A lot of the scribbles were Lily's name, but she ignored those. She may like Potions, but her best subject was Charms. She opened her book and a lot of scribbling started appearing as she did. She saw Snape quickly fixing a few things in his book.
"What are you looking at, Black?" he asked with venom in his voice.
"Just admiring your abnormally large nose, why don't you stick it out of my business?" she asked, before going back to her book.
She ran her finger under the first printed instruction: 'Cut up one Sopophorous bean'. She took the silver dagger upon her desk, poised it over the bean when she noticed Sirius' bean shooting across the room and bouncing off Marlene McKinnon's head. Cassie surveyed the rest of the room. Everyone was struggling to cut the resistant legume. She glanced back to her book and considered the instruction again. An arrow suddenly appeared drawn from the word 'cut' to the margin, where a modification was written in the tight scrawl: 'Crush with blade - releases juice better'. Cassie examined the dagger in her hand, and she turned to glance at Snape, who was in fact, crushing the bean. She placed the flat of the blade against the bean and pressed it. Instantly, the protective parchment covering the desk ran red with juice.
"How did you do that?" Remus and Lily asked at the exact same time, also catching the attention of the greasy-haired Slytherin.
Cassie smirked at him before she turned to her two friends. "Crush it, don't cut it" she told them.
"No. The instructions specifically say to cut" Lily said, reading her book again to make sure she was right.
"No, really, just crush it" she insisted. Lily turned around irritated but Remus tried it and succeeded.
"How did you know that?" he asked, curiously.
"Um, just lucky guess?" she said shrugging, but she could feel the death glare coming from the pale, tall boy not far from her.
Cassie ignored him; she lifted the parchment and tipped the juice into her cauldron. It hissed and then turned lilac. She looked around the class to see the rest of the students struggle. She saw James' cauldron overflowing, and Sirius' cauldron letting out a little explosion. Through it all, they were trying to mess Snape's potion but it was harder than they thought. She saw Lily growing more and more frustrated. Her hair grew a bit messier in the steam rising from her cauldron. She heard Evan Rosier cursing over cutting himself. She saw Snape again and hurried as he was about to finish. He was also eyeing the small girl nervously. He was sure no one in this class could beat him... but, if there was some way that someone could, it'd be Cassie. He saw as she added the last ingredients and sped up to finish. The two students closed their respective cauldrons and raised their hands at the same time.
"Done!" they yelled, glaring at each other.
"Already?" Professor Slughorn said curiously as the rest of the class glanced over at them a little suspicious. "Let's see, shall we?"
Slughorn wended his way amongst the cauldrons, nodding with sympathy at the fiascos before him. Then... he stopped, staring in disbelief at the pearly sheen of two bubbling potions.
"Merlin's Beard! But they're perfect" he exclaimed, excitedly.
"Excuse me, Sir, but, did you just say 'they're' perfect? Snape asked.
"Oh, yes! So perfect, I dare say one sip would kill us all!" Professor Slughorn said, happily.
"That's not possible! I refuse to believe Black's potion is as good as mine!" Snape argued.
"What's that supposed to mean?" to Cassie's surprise, it was Remus who came to her defense. Yes, he would always be on her side, but he was never the one to make a scene out of things.
"She must've cheated!" Snape argued.
"Excuse me?" Cassie and Sirius asked at the exact same time and were equally offended. Sirius even grabbed his wand but Cassie stopped him.
"Severus! That's a very grave accusation" Lily told her friend.
"Yes, Severus, I am offended!" Cassie said, mocking him while Sirius smirked next to her.
"Mister Snape, I suggest you stop complaining unless you want points taken from your house and lose the contest" Professor Slughorn threatened.
"Does that mean I win?" Cassie asked, hopefully.
"Not quite" Professor Slughorn said. "It's a tie."
"WHAT?!" both students asked in disbelief.
"Well, you both brewed excellent potions, and you finished at the same time" he explained.
"So, what happens now?" James asked, curiously.
"Well, you will each have the opportunity to brew another potion to win" he told them. "Do you want it?"
"Yes!" they both said without even thinking before they glared at each other again.
"Alright, turn your books to page seventy-five" he told them and they quickly obeyed.
Cassie's eyes widened as she saw the name of the potion on the top of the page. Veritaserum.
"But this potion's brewing time is one lunar phase" Snape said, a little confused.
"Precisely" Professor Slughorn said. "You both have exactly twenty-eight days to complete it. Whoever brews it perfectly, wins" he told them. "Alright, that is it for today, you are all dismissed!"
**********************************************
After dinner, Cassie had to go meet Sirius and James in their dorm to tell them about the whole potion thing. It was perfect timing because Remus had to do his rounds with Lily. But, as she approached her house's Common Room, something stopped her. Well, someone.
"Black!"
Cassie stopped to the voice she knew and despised too well. She turned around to face Severus Snape running behind her. She should've known he wouldn't let this go easily.
"May I help you, Snivellus?" she asked pretending to be polite.
"What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?" he asked, fuming.
"I'm afraid I do not know what you're talking about-"
"Don't play dumb with me" he interrupted. "Why are you after that prize?"
"I could ask you the same thing" she said smirking. "But unlike you, I don't stick my nose in other people's business. Then again, I have a normal-sized nose-"
"Knock it off! I know you don't care for potions!"
"Are you sure about that, Snivelly?" she asked, smirking. "Think about it. Professor Slughorn mentioned only three people in our class received an 'O' in our OWLs. One of them was you, the other one was Lily... who do you think the third person was?"
"No!" he said realizing it. "You cannot be serious!"
"I'm not, that's my brother" she said in an obvious tone.
"That's a stupid joke! Besides, I assumed it was Lupin who had gotten the 'O'!"
"Well Snivellus, as usual, you were wrong" she told him.
"Enough, Black! Why do you want that prize so much!?"
"For the third time today, Snivellus. It is not polite to stick your abnormally large nose in other people's business! Why don't you run along with your friends Malfoy and Avery and leave me alone?"
"I will leave you alone when you admit to Professor Slughorn that you cheated and you back out of this contest!"
"I did NOT cheat!" she snapped offended.
"I don't believe you! There was something in your book! Let me see your book" he said in a stern voice.
"Excuse me?" she asked trying to sound defensive.
"You heard me, I want to see your book" he repeated.
"No! First of all, I have nothing to prove to you and secondly, I don't want your greasy hands over my stuff" she said, disgustedly. She turned around and was about to leave when she felt Snape grabbing her wrist, rather painfully, and turning her back to face him. "Get your slimy hands off me Snape!" she said glaring at the taller boy.
"Listen to me, Black" he said in a quiet but furious tone. Cassie had to admit, it was a bit terrifying. "I don't know what you and your stupid brother are planning, but I will find out" he said, threateningly.
"My brother has nothing to do with this!"
"I don't care!" he snapped. "You're going to back out of this contest!"
"Or what?" she asked defiantly but felt a little nervous when she saw him smirking evilly at her.
"Cassie!" both students turned around to see Remus Lupin catching up with them. Cassie could see the anger in his eyes when he spotted Snape's hand still around her wrist. "Severus" he said in a serious tone. Remus was never one for name-calling, but Cassie could still feel the shift in his voice. "What's going on here?"
"Nothing" Snape said before releasing the girl's wrist. "I was just leaving" he said as he walked away from the pair, still glaring at Cassie.
"Are you alright?" Remus asked concerned and Cassie only nodded. "What was that all about?"
"Uh, nothing" she said, trying to shrug it off. Is not like she was scared of Snape, but she knew he was quite fascinated with Dark Arts and knew that he had even invented a few spells and hexes. She wouldn't like him testing some of them on her. "He was just upset over what happened today at Potions and he wanted me to resign from the contest" she told him.
"What did he say?"
"He said that I cheated and that he didn't know what Sirius and I were planning but he would find out and that I should back out" she explained.
"Sirius? Why would he think Sirius has something to do with any of this?" Remus asked, confused.
"I don't know" Cassie admitted. "Look, don't worry about it, Snape is always just talk" she assured him. "Go do your rounds, I have to go meet Siri and James. I'll see you when you get back, okay?" she asked smiling up at him.
"Are you sure you're alright?" he asked a little protective.
"I'm fine Remmy" she said smiling up at the boy.
Remus just nodded smiling and kissed her head before they went their separate ways. But he just stood there, watching her leave, only to make sure she made it to the portrait safe. He may not have been mean to Snape like Sirius and James, and even on some occasions Cassie, but that didn't mean he trusted him. He saw Cassie reach the portrait and she turned around to wave at him. He waved back, smiling, and walked away to join Lily so they could finish the rest of the round. As Cassie approached the portrait she turned around to wave at Remus. He smiled waving back before he walked away.
"Your boyfriend is very handsome, dear" the Fat Lady said to the girl standing in front of the portrait.
"Um, he's not my boyfriend" she said blushing a little.
"Oh, well you better do something before someone steals him from you" the Fat Lady suggested. Cassie rolled her eyes and said the password to enter the Common Room.
The Fat Lady wasn't right, was it? No one's going to steal Remus away from me... hold on, he's not mine so someone could steal him. Ugh! She shook her thoughts out of her head and headed straight up to the boys' dorm walking in without even knocking.
"Hey! What if I had been naked?" James complained.
"I would've been scarred for life" she simply said, plopping on Sirius' bed. "Where's Peter?"
"He went down to the kitchens" James explained. "Should keep him busy for a while" he finished, as Sirius got out of the bathroom in his pajamas.
"About bloody time you got here!" he complained drying his hair with a towel and tossing it at his sister.
"Shut up! Stupid Snape made me late" she said, throwing the towel back at him and saw him shaking his hair and getting some water on her. "Wow, you act like a dog even in human form!"
"Shut up!" he said walking over to sit next to her. "Wait, what do you mean Snape? What'd he do?" Sirius asked getting mad and Cassie told them the whole story. "Hold on, he touched you!? He threatened you?!" he said fuming when she finished.
"Siri, calm down, Snivellus couldn't do anything to me" she said laughing but then she got a little nervous. "Right?"
"Of course not! We wouldn't let that happen, Cassie" James said, messing her hair as he sat down next to her too and she smiled gratefully at them.
"So, now are you going to tell us why this is so important?" Sirius asked and saw Cassie biting her bottom lip. They both knew she only did that when she was nervous.
"Alright, I will tell you, but you both have to promise me you won't tell Remus" she said, anxiously.
"You want us to lie to Moony?" James asked, confused.
"No, not lie!" she defended, knowing she couldn't ever lie to him. "Just um, not say anything" she told them. "This is important!"
"Cassie, what's going on?" Sirius asked, getting a bit worried. Cassie sighed, she just needed to let it out. She could trust Sirius and James, they were her brothers.
"Look, last year, while I was studying for the Potion's OWL, I stumbled upon a very rare and difficult potion. So, after the OWLs I um, sort of borrowed the book" she said and saw both James and Sirius smirk, both of them knowing exactly what she meant by borrow. "I read all of it throughout the summer and did, even more, research-"
"You're a nerd" Sirius said laughing and Cassie glared at him.
"Guys! I'm not joking! This potion could help Remus!"
That got the full attention of the guys as they stopped laughing and looked at her.
"What do you mean 'help' Remus?" James asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
"Cassie, what potion are you talking about?" Sirius questioned her.
Cassie bit her lip nervously again before she grabbed her bag and got out a very old library book. She looked through the pages until she found the one she was looking for and placed it in front of them.
"The Wolfsbane Potion!"

September 6th, 1978
Quidditch tryouts were Saturday and Regulus was quite looking forward to them. He was never happier than when he was playing Quidditch. He had played Seeker on the Slytherin Team for three years now, and had enjoyed every moment of it. The freedom of flying through the air, the wind whipping through his black locks, the sting of the frost on his face—all of it made him feel alive. This year, his good friend Woodrow McDrew, would be captaining the team. Although McDrew was not a member of Regulus’s normal circle of friends, Regulus respected McDrew all the same. He was a highly talented and fiercely kind individual. Avery and Mulciber often mocked McDrew, commenting that he should have been in Hufflepuff due to his friendly, outgoing demeanor and staunchly pro-Muggle views. However, Regulus found McDrew to be a breath of fresh air. He demonstrated the best qualities of Slytherin House, and, despite his disapproval of Regulus’s friends, always treated him with respect. No one deserved to be Quidditch Captain more than McDrew.
“’Ello, Regulus!” McDrew greeted him with a wide smile and a firm handshake. “Have a good summer?”
“Yeah. Yeah, I did. How about yourself?”
“Oh, you know, nothin’ too interesting to report. Well, until I found out about being Quidditch Captain!” He lowered his voice, suddenly serious. “I’ve been studying up on the other teams, you know? Who they’re likely to keep, who’s gone, and that sort of stuff. We’ll win this year, I know it!”
Regulus laughed, appreciating his confidence. “That’s great. Who do you reckon are going to be toughest to beat?” he asked, although he already feared the answer.
“Ravenclaw, as always.” McDrew rolled his eyes. As if on cue, the Ravenclaw team stormed merrily out onto the pitch, trailed by a hopeful group of newcomers ready to try out. The Ravenclaw Quidditch Team was daunting, there was no denying it. Their offensive strength lay in their elite group of Chasers. Gwenog Jones, who had clearly been named Captain, was a force of nature. Rumor had it that she had already signed a contract with the Holyhead Harpies and would be leaving Hogwarts immediately following the Quidditch season to play for them. George Fleet, a lanky, sandy-haired seventh year, came from a long line of Quidditch royalty. His father had, until very recently, played for the English National Team. Regulus had remembered cheering for Giles Fleet when he was a child. And then, there was Des Lewis. For a girl raised by Muggles, she had immense skill. Regulus remembered the conversation he had overheard her having with Slughorn. Gwenog had taken her to training camp with Holyhead this past summer.
As the blue-clad team passed the Slytherins, McDrew tensed his shoulders. He tersely nodded at Gwenog Jones, who cordially returned the gesture. “Going to the Slug Club next Friday, McDrew? I hear he’s got Ludo Bagman coming in.”
“Wouldn’t miss it,” McDrew replied. There was an awkward pause before Gwenog cleared her throat and signaled to her team to move down the field. “See you around, McDrew. Black.” She stomped away.
McDrew exhaled deeply after she had gone. “What a woman!”
---
As Regulus packed up his broom after the conclusion of Slytherin field time (during which he’d flown beautifully, thank you very much), he noted a fleck of maroon in his peripheral vision. Sure enough, the Gryffindors had arrived for their time on the pitch. However, Regulus was shocked to see an old familiar face. Laughing along with the rest of the team, with his untidy black hair and smug grin, was none other than James Potter, the brother-stealer. What was he doing here? Come back to relive his glory days? James caught Regulus’s eye as Regulus stared loathingly across the pitch. Bollocks.
With a new sense of urgency, Regulus haphazardly shoved the rest of his equipment into his bag. He tried to blend in between a group of young Gryffindors cheering on their team as he rushed toward the field’s exit. He wasn’t so lucky.
“Oi, Regulus.”
Regulus walked faster.
“Hey! Hey Reggie, come back!” James Potter sprinted towards him, seizing his robes and yanking him backwards. “Didn’t you hear me shouting?” James asked innocently.
“Oh dear, I guess I’d better get my hearing checked,” Regulus snidely remarked. “What do you want, Potter? Why are you even here? Finally realize that you’re nothing outside of school?”
James looked uncomfortable. He shifted his weight from foot to foot and fiddled with the cuffs of his robes. “It’s…it’s for work! You know what? That’s none of your business! Listen. I need to talk to you. It’s about Pad—Sirius. It’s about Sirius.”
Regulus’s throat constricted. “What about him?”
“Well, he…um. He wanted me to talk to you. He, uh, well… he wants to say he’s sorry for leaving and sorry that you guys lost touch…”
Regulus was shocked and enraged. “Oh, poor Sirius! How will he go on? Well, you can tell that traitor that if he was truly sorry, he’d have come to me himself, not had his replacement family do it for him! Or better yet, he’d have had the balls to come talk to me a year ago when this whole mess started. So, you tell dear Sirius that I’m sorry his guilt has finally caught up with him, but he can take his guilt and shove up it up his—”
“Stop!” James interrupted. “Don’t you understand how hard it was on him? He’s only just come to terms with being disowned. He thought he’d put you in danger by talking to you himself. He didn’t want your mum and dad to hurt you.”
Regulus remembered the threats his mother and father had made before he returned to school last year, warning him against having any contact with his disgraced brother.
“We will know...”
James seized Regulus’s moment of pause as an opportunity to continue. “He’s fine, now. But he…he’s seen how you’ve changed since he left. We can all see it. He’s afraid that you’re going down a dark path.”
Another wave of rage coursed through Regulus’s veins. “Oh yeah? Well you don’t know anything about my life, and neither does he! He went out and found himself a new family. Well, I did the same!” he shouted, not caring about the younger onlookers surrounding him.
James’s faced contorted. He was angry now too. “You think those Death Eaters are your family? That’s sick, mate. Absolutely sick. Sirius always told me that you were different from old Orion and Wally. He said you didn’t really believe all that pureblood, anti-Muggle shit. But, I guess he was wrong. You’re in just as deep as the rest of them. Spineless. You disgust me, mate.”
Regulus blanched. “Just— just because I’m in with them doesn’t mean I believe all they have to say. I- I can make my own decisions!”
Potter scoffed. “Clearly not. You think that old Voldie’s going to let you think for yourself?! Then you’re way too naive to be caught up in this mess! You’re either in or you’re out. This is a war, mate! I know you know what’s on the horizon. And if you choose the side of hatred and bigotry…well…then you’ll get what’s coming.”
With those scathing words, Potter spun on a heel and stormed back towards his old teammates, leaving Regulus standing there, shocked and confused. Sure, he’d been having some doubts but…He was where he belonged, wasn’t he? His mind raced. His cheeks burned with shame. What did Potter know, anyway?
Turning down a corridor into the castle, he ran into Ginger, whose hair was now putrid green. She was covered with flecks of something dark and wet.
“What happened to you?” Regulus asked.
She rolled her eyes. “I heard Lewis use the Dark Lord’s name in the hall. So, I hexed that Mudblood friend of hers, Bode. Used one of Severus’s old curses. It worked wonderfully—he’s in the hospital wing now. But, Lewis got me with this jinx before I could get away. It’s not too bad, though. Avery reckons he can fix it right up. Those little Muggle lovers don’t have the balls to do anything serious! Pathetic!” She cackled. Regulus found it to be a shrill, ugly sound. He realized the dark spatters peppering Ginger’s face and robes were specks of blood. His head pounded. He felt like he was going to vomit.
“I’ve gotta go.” Regulus spun around and quickly walked away from Ginger and the Slytherin Common Room.
Regulus aimlessly wandered about the castle, reflecting on Potter’s words. He had always told himself he wasn’t as bigoted or as prejudiced as his friends. He had attempted to justify his involvement with the Death Eaters by blaming others; but Sirius hadn’t given into the pressure like Regulus had. Besides, Regulus had wanted a family, he had wanted people who accepted him for who he was. But, did they accept him? Or, did they only want him among their ranks because of his prominent, Pureblood status? He remembered when they had approached him during first year.
“We know enough about you…” What had they known, really?
Back then, Regulus had refused. He had felt that he had higher moral principles. Sure, he had been raised by his parents to hate and fear Muggles. But Regulus had never personally believed Muggles and Muggleborns were less than human. He hadn’t then… did he now? He thought of the boy Ginger had sent to the hospital, just for fun. He felt sickened by himself. How had he let himself end up here?
---
The rest of the week dragged on. Regulus had become detached and distant. He poured all of his time and energy into his classes. He barely slept. He thought about reaching out to someone, but didn’t know who he would go to for help. He could send an owl…but who would he write? Sirius? They hadn’t spoken in years, what would he even say? Plus, Regulus still harbored some animosity towards his brother for abandoning him. James? Not likely after that verbal thrashing. Regulus would be too embarrassed. And they had never quite gotten on, even before Sirius’s flight. He racked his brain. He barely knew anyone outside of his Death Eater circle, now. Dejectedly, he plopped himself on his bed and pressed his fingers over his eyelids, trying to block the oncoming migraine. Quidditch practice tonight was going to be a pain.
Quidditch…McDrew! That was it! He would talk to McDrew. Regulus knew he could trust his fellow seventh year. Cheered up slightly, he grabbed his broom and Quidditch bag and headed to down the pitch, hoping to catch his captain there before the others arrived.
Sure enough, the Slytherin Captain had also arrived early and was currently pouring over a strategy book in the locker room as Regulus walked in. Engrossed, McDrew didn’t notice his entrance. Regulus coughed, and the boy looked up.
“Oh, hey Black! Didn’t realize you’d be here this early. I was just reading up on some new moves I want us to try.”
Regulus forced an awkward smile, suddenly extremely nervous and shy. McDrew noticed something was off.
“You alright, mate?”
Regulus sighed. This was his opening. “Can…can I ask you something?”
McDrew raised an eyebrow, confused. “Sure.”
“Do you think I’m a bad person?”
A prolonged silence filled the room. McDrew considered his answer, deep in thought.  “To tell you the truth, mate, I don’t think anyone is really a bad person. I think people make bad choices, especially when they’re lost or confused. But, deep down, I don’t believe anyone can survive without a little bit of good in them.”
“That was philosophical.”
McDrew laughed. “Yeah, I suppose it was.” He became serious again. “But, I think it’s true. Look, Regulus, I don’t pretend to know everything about you. But, I spent my fair share of time around your brother and his friends, so I’ve heard things. Heard things about what it’s like living with your parents, with all of that pressure, with some of their…disciplinary methods…”
Regulus paled and averted his gaze.
“…And I think growing up like that would be enough to send anyone over the deep end. Considering all you went through, you seem pretty sane to me. But, I think you’re lost. You’re angry. You’re scared. And, I think that’s caused you to make some bad decisions. To fall in with some bad people. I know it’s hard. In Slytherin, there’s this expectation to follow exactly what old Salazar used to say. ‘Purebloods first, Muggles are scum,’ that sort of thing. I, myself, think that’s all bullshit. Sure, I’ve made some enemies, especially among those whom you consider to be your friends. At the end of the day, though, I see it as my duty to speak up. To go against the grain, to prove that all that rhetoric is troll dung. There comes a point where you’ve got to make a choice about who you want to be. And, I think it seems like you’re at that point. So, mate, if you decide that you don’t want to continue down whatever path you’re currently on, you know where to find me. Me and my friends’ll gladly take you in. Don’t let the fear of being alone—of making others angry—ruin your own life.” McDrew smiled. “You’re a good bloke, Reg. I just think you’ve lost your way.”
Regulus fought back the pricking of tears in his eyes. He hadn’t realized how much he needed to hear those words. All he had wanted was to be loved and accepted. Yet, so far, all love in his life—from his family, from his friends—had been conditional. The fear of losing their love had caused Regulus to conform, to become a person he barely recognized. But, here he was, sitting in the musty Quidditch locker room, presented with a way out. A way to rediscover himself and become a better person. Energized by the prospect of this new life, he broke into a wide grin. He heard the rest of the team coming down into the changing rooms.
“Practice is starting, I guess,” Regulus said. “Maybe we can talk more at breakfast tomorrow?”
McDrew smiled crookedly. “Of course, mate! I’ll look forward to it!”

hiiii can you do a blurb based on the dodgeball episode where y/n on michelle’s team and harry and y/n hit it off pretty well
“Is it weird that they have five players and we have six?” Y/N asked as she sat in her chair, the Late Late Show’s hair stylist teasing the crown of her hair in order to put it into a bouncy pony tail for the sketch.
“I asked James if he wanted to add someone else to his team, and he said it was fine,” Michelle shrugged.
Y/N still couldn’t believe that this was where she was. When she’d begun her acting career alongside the amazing Mila Kunis when she was but a spry thirteen year old, she never anticipated everything blowing up like this. Working alongside someone she’d seen in her favorite show growing up was one thing, but getting to do what she loved with people that she admired was something completely beyond what she could have ever imagined. And now she was sitting alongside former First Lady Michelle Obama, about to play dodgeball with her now-good friend and sort of mentor, Mila, as well as the hilarious Melissa McCarthy, Kate Hudson, and Allison Janney. Not to mention she was facing off against James, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Bradley, Reggie Watts, and none other than Harry Styles.
Where was Y/N to start with Harry Styles? He was only a year older than her, and she’d technically popped up in the mainstream media before he had, but he was undoubtedly the bigger star. Not to mention Y/N had been a pretty big One Direction fan when they’d been popular when she was in high school. She’d of course followed his solo career so far, and she was honestly really surprised that their paths hadn’t crossed before then. Not that she had many connections to the music industry, but she’d definitely attended a lot of the same award shows and events that he had over the years. She had friends that knew him a little more personally, and while she was a bit jealous, she never wanted to force a meeting between them. She was a fan, but she didn’t want to come across as obsessed or demanding of his attention.
So she sat in her little corner of the room, allowing the makeup artists and hair dressers do their thing, checking emails on her phone and having a light chat with the women on her team, sneaking inconspicuous glances at Harry across the room. He was effortlessly attractive and put together, joking and messing around with his own teammates. She’d always heard stories both in the industry and from fans about the magnetism that Harry naturally exuded, and she could finally attest to it first hand. Even though they were clear across the room from each other, she could feel his eccentricity and charisma. It was a little annoying in that way that she was mad that she didn’t get to experience that sort of thing on the regular.
James came up to her as the hair dresser deemed her finished.
“Have you met everyone here, Y/N?” he asked. She hadn’t been able to make it to the scripted rehearsal the day before due to some previous obligations, so she hadn’t been there to be introduced properly to everyone. She obviously knew everyone on her own team already, and she’d met John at premieres, Reggie on the show, and Benedict from a World War II movie they’d done together a few years before. The only one she didn’t know was the one that was most friendly with James Corden, and it was a tad intimidating.
“Everyone except Harry Styles,” she confirmed, trying not to give away that she was really anxious to meet him.
“Well, we start filming in twenty, so let’s get that sorted,” James decided, already turning to look around for his friend. When he spotted him, he gave a low whistle, immediately catching Harry’s attention. James beckoned him over with a wave, and Harry politely departed his previous conversation.
He gave a slight jog up to where James stood with Y/N, who popped out of her seat so she wouldn’t be sitting when she introduced herself to him. Seemed a bit rude, honestly. And she was already having to pretend not to have a little bit of a freak out internally, so she figured giving herself the distraction of having to stay standing would be a good idea.
“Hey, don’t think we’ve met before,” Harry greeted her, reaching his hand out.
Y/N accepted it, a little overwhelmed by the warmth of his skin and the way his hand nearly completely engulfed her own.
“No, I don’t think we have. I’m Y/N.” She was honestly surprised she was able to get the words out so easily and sound like an actual functioning human adult.
“Harry,” he reciprocated, flashing her one of those lopsided smiles she’d seen a lot on the red carpet and in magazines. It was a little disarming, in all honesty, now that she was close to it and all it’s cheeky glory.
“I know it’s like two years late, but I really love your album.” Y/N couldn’t help but gush just a little bit. She was a fan and there was no reason to hide it completely. She’d just have to tamp it down a little bit.
The smile on his face widened into a full blown grin that crinkled the corners of his eyes. “Thanks! Thank you so much. That means a lot.”
“Get friendly. We’re gonna start pelting each other with rubber balls in twenty minutes,” James told them, clapping Harry on the shoulder as he passed by to go talk to someone else.
“Yeh know, I really loved that movie you just did with Chris Evans,” Harry told her, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning his hip against the makeup table their artist had set up. “Actually, I think I’ve loved every movie yeh’ve ever done. I’m kinda actually a really big fan. Mates make fun of me for ownin’ all your movies and watchin’ all your interviews.”
Y/N felt herself flushing, but she was pleasantly surprised to see that a bit of red was tinging the tips of his ears as he bent his head, that cute little smile on his face, looking a little embarrassed. She couldn’t hold back the excited little giggle that escaped her mouth at his adorable behavior.
“That’s really sweet, Harry. And tell your friends to get off your back. My friends used to make fun of me for liking One Direction. Look who’s laughing now.”
Harry laughed. He looked back up at her, and she noticed him biting down on the tip of his tongue with his back teeth. When she was a teenager, and Harry was a teenager, that look used to drive her crazy. Now that they were both adults, the look was one hundred times worse, and Y/N had to physically swallow to control her reaction. Lord help her.
Y/N and Harry chatted about mundane industry things for a few minutes, waiting out the time until they were due to start filming. Y/N found that Harry was just as charming and adorable as he’d always come across in interviews and videos. He was a bit more willing to answer her questions than he was in answering interview questions. And he was really funny in that dorky way that would be embarrassing if he wasn’t so willing to embarrass himself.
James finally called everyone to order, and the next thirty minutes could only be described as absolute annihilation. The UK tried to make their comeback in the second round, America crushed them in the third. While Y/N was celebrating with her teammates and playfully making fun of the Brits for their loss, she felt a hand wrap around her wrist. She turned to look down at the hand and noticed the rings adorning the long fingers of the hand. Trailing up the arms, she took stock of all the tattoos and knew immediately who it was.
“Congrats on the win,” Harry told her, a broad smirk stretching across his face.
Y/N bowed her head mock seriously. “Thank you, sir. You were a noble opponent. Honestly, you and Cumberbatch carried the team. Don’t tell James that.”
Harry placed a hand over his heart. “Thank you, that means a lot. And I won’t tell, promise.”
Y/N smiled at him but she wasn’t really sure what else she was supposed to say to him. They were on friendly terms now, but she was still a little nervous around him.
Harry apparently sensed her unease or was a bit uneasy himself, so he spoke after a few seconds of silence had passed between them. Although she was more surprised by what he said than she was uncomfortable by the silence.
“Do you wanna go out sometime? Grab coffee or have lunch or something?”
Y/N’s mouth popped open just a little bit in shock. Was Harry Styles actually asking her out? Asking to spend time with her outside of work?
“Uh…y-yeah, that sounds great,” she agreed quicker than she thought she was capable of at that moment. It was good to know she was able to actually still function under high stress situations.
“Great,” Harry responded, his face brightening. “Should I get your email or something? So we can set a time. Are you in London long?”
“I just landed a show here, so I’ll be in London for the foreseeable future,” she said, already feeling the hope of this lasting longer than one meeting flourishing in her stomach. “But is there something wrong with exchanging phone numbers?” She can’t say she’d ever swapped emails with people as opposed to cell numbers. Emails were for work appointments and contract drafts. Not casual conversations and dates.
Harry awkwardly chuckled and wiped at his nose with the broad part of his first finger. “I uh—I didn’t wanna be presumptuous.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and put her hand out. “Give me your phone, Styles.”
He smirked at her. “Bossy, are yeh?”
“I prefer authoritative and decisive.”
His smirk softened into a smile. “I like that.”

Ego // Sweet Pea (part 1)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first imagine for sweets <33333 did this in honor of Riverdale s4 coming out ehehehehe also this is from the pov of sCaRLEtT bc I really like that name eheheh
As a serpent, she had an ego just like all of the other members. When Scarlett Calahan’s dad died the day she turned 13, FP was quick to follow James Callahan’s (known as JC) orders and she became a serpent.
Only, Joaquin, FP and Jughead were the only ones who knew that her dad died. FP told all the Serpents that he was diagnosed with alzheimer and that he should be left alone.
Scarlett had an amazing group of friends, until that fateful day. Her, Fangs, Sweet Pea, Joaquin, and Toni were that group of friends that everyone wished they had. When JC died, she moved to the Northside, enrolled in Riverdale High for freshman year, and abandoned her group of friends. She was taken under the wing by Fred Andrews, per se FP’s request. Because her and Archie were the same age, they got along quite nicely. Archie wasn’t bothered that she came off as rude sometimes, or that she had a massive ego and was quite the pessimist. He was, however, bothered by the fact that she was a Serpent.
“I just don't understand,” Archie had shrugged one day, sitting on his bed doing homework while Scarlett sat across from him, staring at that stupid football poster on his wall. “How could you be apart of a gang that’s so... violent?” He had said it like he was disgusted. And he was. Disgusted that a girl he was so in love with was in a gang, full of drugs, murders, and thieves.
“Dad’s request, Arch. I don’t mind, though. It makes me feel like I’m in control of something.”
She continued to show up to Serpent meetings and sometimes special occasions, if necessary. She fit in nicely in the corner, observing. On rare occasions, Tall Boy noticed her and gave her a smile.
Of course, even after she moved to the Northside, Joaquin was always in contact with her. On Fridays, when he wasn’t at the Wyrm, he’d climb up to her window and she’d tell him about her week. Sometimes during meetings he’d slip in the back with her.
At school, she didn’t have very many friends. Archie and Jughead, of course, but they all usually stayed clear of each other during school. Betty was very much creeped out by Scarlett, so that meant Kevin was too even though he was dating her best friend.
By the middle of sophomore year, everyone had found out that Scarlett was a serpent. She didn’t bother to hide her serpent jacket, and wore it to school. Josie started talking to her more, probably to use her as a charity case.
Cheryl, who was okay with her before, began the shaming as soon as she found out. All Scarlett could do was clench her fists and squeeze her eyes shut to avoid a fight, but one too many times that didn’t work.
One by one, everything crashed. She was accused of Jason Blossom’s death, found out her best friend and FP were partly responsible for Jason’s death, found out Mustang was found dead in a bathtub, and Joaquin had to wish her a tearful goodbye before he left town for good. Fred was shot, she spent days in the hospital, and the Black Hood was born.
“So, a little birdie told me today was your first day at Southside High? How’d that go?” Scarlett asked, finding Jughead typing on his computer at Pop’s.
Jughead looked up, smiling at Scarlett. “It was... interesting. Place is a shit show, I feel bad for all of them.” Jughead shrugged. Scarlett laughed softly, not expecting anything more from the Southside.
“Yeah? How was lunch? No Ghoulies messed with you, right?” Scarlett piled on the questions, narrowing her eyes. Jughead snorted, shaking his head.
“Sat alone. This girl named... Toni Topaz? You probably know her. Anyways, she showed me around and invited me to sit with her and the serpents since my dad’s one. I said no, and blah blah blah. Day went on and I met uh... some very interesting people.” Jughead explained.
“Yeah?” She raised her eyebrows. “Yeah. I know Toni. Who’d you meet?” Toni had since brushed her off after she left the Southside. She remembers one time, just a few months after she cut them off, she was walking back to the trailer park to talk to FP, and Toni slammed her against the wall and slapped her.
“You think you’re so cool, ditching us for Northsiders huh? Were we really that bad? Stupid bitch, you may be a serpent by tattoo now but you’ll never be a serpent by heart.”
“This one guy, he asked me about you. His name’s Fangs I think? He seemed like he genuinely cared. Then, Toni cut him off before I could say anything and told him to shut up. This other guy, Sweet Pea rolled his eyes. Sweet Pea’s a real jerk, got mad at me because I wouldn’t hang out with them after school.” Jughead said.
Her heart jumped at the mention of Sweet Pea. She’d always had a huge crush on him when they were younger, and even now sometimes she found it hard to get him off her mind. She hadn’t talked to him or seen him since before she left unexpectedly. On another note, The fact that Fangs asked about her too surprised her.
Her phone dinged, and she picked it up only to find Fred messaging her that Archie was going to be with friends tonight and that he was almost done making dinner if she wanted some.
“Hey, Jug, I gotta go. But... will you do me a favor?” She asked, sliding her phone in to her pocket. Jughead hummed in response, looking up at her. “Tomorrow, you know, if Sweet Pea gets his head out of his ass, would you ask him about me?”
Jughead furrowed his eyebrows, but nodded nonetheless. I waved goodbye to him and then left, hopping on my motorcycle and going home, thoughts of Sweet Pea in my head.
Not but a few days later, Archie’s video of the Red Circle spread around and the red dot painted on white t-shirts everywhere began to make her feel sick. She had voiced her opinion to Archie, who completely brushed it off. The first red Circle meeting was held at their house, where Scarlett stayed in the kitchen and did her homework, since she had nothing better to do. She also just wanted to eavesdrop on them.
Then, there were people at the door. Veronica walked in to the kitchen, breaking Scarlett from her trance. “Um, Scarlett? Your... buddies are here. And I think they want to cause trouble.”
Cause trouble my ass, Scarlett thought. If only Archie could use his brain, this wouldn’t be happening right now. She got up, walking down the hallway to where everyone was crowded around the front door.
She pushed past everyone, joining Archie. “No, Scarlett-” Archie started, but was cut off by a tall black haired hottie she didn’t recognize.
“Calahan? This is the fucking idiot you’re living with? I thought Jones was lying.” He scoffed. Then, she recognized him.
“Sweet Pea?” She mumbled. He stared at her for a second, then looked back at Archie.
Before she knew it, they were all outside. She watched, with slight pride. She’d never doubt the Serpents’ pride.
After a while, she began to feel like something was going to go wrong. She saw Dilton bend down, pulling something out of his pocket.
“Oh hell no.” She grumbled. She ran over to him, tackling him to the ground. Then, she groaned in pain and felt Dilton do the same. The knife had sliced them both. Then, a gunshot rang out. She sat up in pain, seeing Veronica with a gun in the air and the Serpents racing away in their bikes.
Dilton was helped up by Reggie, and Archie grabbed her and helped her inside. Scarlett could tell Archie was pissed, so she didn't say anything to him when he stormed out of her room.
“Did you guys really jump Dilton Doiley and Scarlett? She’s a fucking serpent.” Jughead stormed out to the courtyard at Southside High during lunch. He approached Toni, Fangs, and Sweet Pea who all looked at each other.
“Where’d you hear that from, Jones?” Toni scoffed, crossing her arms.
“Archie.” Jughead responded plainly, looking between all of them.
“No,” Fangs shook his head. “The idiot stabbed himself, and when Scarlett tried to stop him from stabbing Sweet Pea, he stabbed her too.”
Sweet Pea’s eyebrows raised in surprise, unaware of this. Of course, somewhere down inside his black heart, he had a soft spot for Scarlett. That spot was covered by a hard shell though, especially after she left them for some stupid Northsiders and thought she could remain a serpent.
“Um.. speaking of Scarlett... How is she?” Toni asked carefully. Jughead sighed, shrugging. “No one really knows these days. Not even me or Archie. Used to talk to Joaquin, but ever since he left... not really.” He explained.
“She was still talking to Joaquin? He never said anything about her.” Fangs said, looking at his friends. Toni shrugged, confused too.
“Um.. she’s coming to my trial tonight. If you guys wanted to see her.” Jughead added. Toni nodded and looked at Fangs. Sweet Pea only scoffed, mumbling something under his breath.
Scarlett found herself standing in the corner at the Wyrm, like always. Just this time, she didn’t have Joaquin making unnecessary, hilarious side comments. As  if someone was reading her mind, a tall figure appeared next to her. “Didn’t know you actually came to events like these.” Sweet Pea scoffed. She rolled her eyes.
“I’m a serpent, whether you like it or not, Sweet Pea.” She snapped back, not bothering to look at him, and lose her whole I’m-a-bad-girl facade.
“Thats where you’re wrong, Calahan.” The tall boy replied. He stepped closer to her, and she only straightened her posture to show him she was just as tough as him. “You may think you’re a serpent because of your jacket, or your tattoo, but you’ll never be a serpent by heart. How could you be, if you ditch the people that need you the most? Your own family? If you never show up to the meetings, mingle with the enemies, you could never be a serpent.” Sweet Pea said, in his slow, deep, intimidating voice.
Scarlett snickered, stepping closer to him. They were chest to chest. “Honey, you’ve got me all wrong. I’ve been here the whole time. Maybe not the same school, but I’ve been at all the meetings, all of the important events, hell, I was there when you were initiated, I was there when Toni was, I was there when Fangs was. You just didn’t see me. And, don’t assume things if you don’t know the whole story. You think you know shit, but you don’t. Get your head out of your ass.”
“I should be the one saying that to you, Calahan. You think you’re hot shit, prancing around with the Bulldogs, pretending you don’t know us. You ditched us for crying out loud! And not once did you explain, or even say bye! This is the first time I’ve seen you in 3 years, for gods sake!” He yelled.
I rolled my eyes, pushing past him and walking out of the bar. I could hear his footsteps behind me, and before I knew it, I was being turned around and my lips were pressed against the one person I’ve been dreaming of kissing since second grade.
i think this is really bad ahahahah i didn’t edit it oops

After the Dodgeball Game
Tumblr media
Anon: Hiiiii can you do a blurb based on the dodgeball episode where y/n on michelle’s team and harry and y/n hit it off pretty well
Pairing: Harry x Reader
Warnings: Fluff, slight smut, getting hit in the groin?
Word Count: 6k+
A/N: Hi bby! Here is the dodgeball blurb that you requested! I enjoyed writing this (especially towards the end!) I hope you enjoy, lovies. Feedback is much appreciated. Much Love!💓❤💞💕💞💓
Come talk to me about it!
It was a regular day for Y/N. She was shooting some photographs for an upcoming publishing author for her first book.
Y/N was praised for her magnificent work and always was asked if she could take pictures for projects such as these. There were times that she was asked to do album photoshoots with music artists and if she was being honest, she actually enjoyed doing those than any other job offer she was asked to do. Either way, she enjoyed her job very much. It paid the rent back home and she was happy with what she earned from each photo session.
Currently, after she did a photoshoot with the publishing author she came straight home and relaxed for a bit, taking away all that stress that she started to get when she received a call from James Corden himself as he spoke about a television special.
**//**
“Wait, so you want me to play dodgeball with Michelle Obama? The Michelle Obama?” Y/N questioned as her eyes widen from hearing James actually tell her that she was going to be in some sort of team with the First Lady.
“Yes! Are you still in? Or should I call someone else to come?” James asked as his voice sounded more convincing.
Y/N thought about it for a bit. She didn’t have any other jobs to do the next two weeks, so she was totally free. What could one dodgeball game hurt? Plus, she was finally going to meet Michelle Obama, the woman that has inspired her so much.
“I’ll do it, James! It’s going to be in London or in Los Angeles?”
“Los Angeles. I’ll make sure to let my team to send the extra information, yeah? Is that good?”
Y/N had a big smile now, she couldn’t contain the nerves that she had right now. She knew she still had two weeks before even meeting Michelle Obama, but she was so excited to be asked to be in this.
“Uh, yeah! Yeah, I understand. Thank you for giving me a call, James.” Y/N says as she hangs up once they both say goodbye.
If someone would have asked her if she was fine, she would probably lie to you and tell you that she was fine. But being called because you were going to be playing alongside Michelle Obama would have probably made your insides turn with excitement and nervousness. Boy, was she excited for those two weeks to pass by quickly so she could go to L.A. and play a couple of matches.
**//**
Two Weeks Later
Y/N was on her way to the airport since she didn’t live close by California. She had everything ready for the flight. Once she arrived at the airport she made sure to contact James and his team that she was on her way to California in a couple of hours.
In the meantime, Y/N took out a book that she has been enjoying very much recently as the pilot announced that they were going to head out pretty soon.
As soon as she arrived in L.A. She called an UBER and they drove to the CBS studios. The ride was pretty short so Y/N didn’t have a chance to finish up the rest of the book she brought along with her.
**//**
Y/N finally arrived at the studio and was taken to James and the rest of the team
The team took in her two suitcases inside the entrance. James walked out of the studio and walked towards Y/N and brought her in.
“Y/N! How was your flight?”
Y/N smiled and hugged James back.
“It was great, James.” Y/N gave him a pat on the shoulder as they walked beside each other as James arm draped over her shoulders.
“We are going to pre-record tomorrow morning and practice. Do you think you can beat team U.K. with dodgeball, Y/N?” A smirk on his face as Y/N looked at him with a smolder.
“You really think team U.S.A. is not going to win?”
“I mean… yeah. I already know we’re going to win because I'm the captain of the team, so we’re definitely winning.” James says as he crosses his arms over his chest.
“Keep dreaming, James. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.” Y/N says as she stares intently at James hooded eyes. They have a stare off both displaying serious faces. Seconds later they burst out laughing.
“You’re something else, Y/N. Can’t wait for tomorrow, love.” James compliments as he focuses his attention to someone in the studio team.
“Y/N, I almost forgot. You have a room assigned to you for the night. Please follow me, love.”
“A room? I was just going to pay for a hotel room for the two days, are you sure?”
“Y/N. You came here in short notice, it’s the least I could do and arrange a room for you.” James added as Y/N smiled at him and remained quiet. She wanted to thank him. She hugged him as he was explaining the day for tomorrow.
“Thank you so much, James.”
“No need, Y/N. I’m just very glad you are going to spend it with us.” James smiled and rubbed her head.
**//**
And so the rest of the day Y/N, James and the rest of the Late Late show crew all hung out and had dinner before going to bed.
The next day Y/N woke up with a smile on her face. Why was she so happy you ask? Well, she was going to meet Michelle Obama and she was excited playing dodgeball with the rest of the players that she will soon meet.
After Y/N finished eating breakfast and took a little break before getting into a car as they drove her and the amazing women that she was surrounded with to the designated gym they were going to play.
Y/N stared at the tall woman that was talking with someone that had a little headband in his hair. From behind she could see his left arm was filled with tattoos, and tall, he was very tall. She wanted to approach Michelle and this guy, but she stayed behind so they could continue their conversation.
“Y/N. Come here, we have to practice for a bit.” Mila Kunis said as she touched Y/N’s shoulder.
“That’s Michelle Obama.” Y/N whispered to Mila.
“Yeah, it is. She’ll come in a bit, but come practice with us.” She smiled as she looked behind her at the group of women throwing balls at each other.
So Y/N walked towards the group of women and began practicing with them. On the other side of the gym, the young man that Y/N saw a while ago was now with his team as he stared at the mysterious woman that he had no clue who she was.
“Who’s that?” Harry asked Reggie who was the only one practicing with him as the other guys were talking about the tea and cakes they’re going to have later.
“I think that’s Y/N Y/L/N. She’s a photographer, a really good one too.” Reggie adds as he smiles towards Y/N and back at Harry.
“I’ve never seen her before. Is she on the tellie most of the time, or-,”
“She doesn’t like being on the television a lot, she prefers to have her life private, but she is great friends with James.” Reggie said as he started bending down stretching out his limbs and arms.
Harry kept quiet the entire time they were practicing. He couldn’t help his curiosity, he was so enchanted with this woman that always had a smile on her face while she was practicing with her teammates. How could a person be so happy the entire time and not at least have a serious face while training? Would it feel weird to continue staring at a woman for this long, Harry thought. Would it hurt to introduce yourself to someone you really want to know more about? No, it wouldn’t. And he was right.
**//**
The game was about to start. Michelle Obama was giving her team a pep talk before the match and Y/N stared at her with beaming eyes of admiration. She listened to every word she said and saw the passion behind every single word she said.
After Michelle’s encouraging speech, Y/N got up from her seat and asked Michelle Obama if she could sign a copy of her Becoming book. Michelle gladly signs it for her and gives her a tight hug.
“It’s so nice to meet you Y/N. I’ve seen your work, and can I say how beautiful each photograph of yours is. It’s amazing what you’re doing, sweetheart.” Michelle smiled, as she patted Y/N’s shoulder.
“You’ve seen my work?”
“Of course! It would be hard to miss.”
She has seen Y/N’s work? Y/N always thought that her photographs were just shared throughout her clients’ families. Y/N didn’t have an active social media that she posted her pictures, she always kept her work private. But obviously her work wasn’t always going to be private, and that was a good thing they weren’t, she was getting new clients after all.
“I’m happy you like my work, Mrs. Obama.” Y/N declared as she sent her a smile and Michelle returned it back.
And finally it was time, the dodgeball game that the public have been waiting for and Y/N waiting patiently to play for the longest since her stay here in the studio. She has dreamed about it and now it was finally going to happen.
**//**
As soon as the referee whistled the game to begin, both players from each team ran towards the red balls. But Y/N didn’t get to the middle on time, she was just about to touch a ball and grasp it in her hand, but a guy with the tattooed arm grabbed it before her. There was a soft look that was on his features leaving behind the serious, and furrowed brows behind. He was going to give her the ball, but then he thought again, it’s just a game.
Or so that’s what he thought.
During the first round of the game it was only the tall, good looking green-eyed man standing. Y/N had a ball in her hand ready to aim it towards the man that she started to gain a liking in him. Not in a romantic way, but more of a friendly kind of way. The man had a strong grip on the ball that he was holding, he was also ready to throw it towards Y/N. Before he could even throw the ball, Y/N moved a little closer and threw the ball, her intentions were to hit Harry’s thigh, but he jumped up at the wrong time as the ball hit his groin.
Y/N stood standing with her hands covering her mouth in shock and guilt that she just hit this man in the groin. She stared at the man pounding on the floor as he was on his knees and head staring down at the ground. But her team cheered her on and gave her an assuring pat on the shoulder and on the back. What the hell? What the fuck did she just do?
After round one was finished, Y/N was speaking with Michelle and how she felt bad about hitting Harry in the groin, oh how she regrets it.
“I feel so bad, Mrs. Obama. I didn’t mean to hit him there. I jus- I was aiming at his leg not… down there.” Y/N reasons, as she sees a smile forming on Michelle’s face when she looks away from Y/N.
“Hi, can you sign this book for me?” A deep british voice asked as Y/N turned around and made eye contact with the guy that she hit.
Shit.
Should she apologize right now or should she wait until the end of the dodgeball game? Wait or ask right now? She was going to wait after he gets his book signed and then she’ll apologize.
Harry was now walking towards his team’s side of the gym and sat down on the bench and started to read the first page of his copy of the Becoming book.
Y/N took this as an opportunity to apologize to him. She felt guilty that she hit him down there and hope she can get some peace by apologizing.
“Hi.” She squeaked, as she almost face-palmed from how awkward she must’ve sounded.
Harry looked up from his book and smiled at her as she stared down at him.
“Umm, hi.” He replied back as he set the book down next to him on the bench. He scooted a bit to the right so Y/N could sit down next to him.
“Thanks. I just came here to apologize for, you know- hitting you in the groin.” Y/N murmured as she almost looked at his pelvis but looked right up at his eyes before he could notice.
“‘S fine, love. It didn’t hurt as much as a basketball.” He smiled. “I didn’t catch your name.”
“It’s Y/N.” Harry nodded and continued showing that beautiful smile of his that showed off his dimples.
“I’m Harry. It’s nice to meet you, Y/N.” Harry greeted as he put his hand in front of him for her to shake.
They shook hands and smiled at each other. Harry was about to tell her something else, but before he could let it out, the referee blew his whistle signaling that the game was about to start.
**//**
The second game Team U.K. tied up the game. During the beginning of the second match, Harry ran to get the ball, but he tossed it towards the other side, giving it to Y/N. He had no ball and waited until the opposing team threw a ball. Y/N took the ball and aimed it towards James, quickly kicking him out of the match. The last and final round went the same. Harry grabbed the ball and softly tossed it towards Y/N’s way. Harry luckily took the ball that Mila was about to grab and ran backwards and hit Melissa before almost getting hit in the face with the ball that Allison threw his way. He fell down, ass on the ground. While he was on the ground he got hit with a ball and he was out of the game now. Y/N looked over at Harry and felt empathy towards him, but she has to continue and finish the game. So she threw the ball and hit James, then she caught the ball that Reggie threw towards her and out was the “windmill”. Benedict was the last one standing as Y/N, Lena, and Allison all threw their balls towards Benedict. And game three was called and team U.S.A. won the trophy.
Team U.K. hung their heads low and their shoulders slumped. They all looked sad. They were broken physically and bruised emotionally.
Y/N went with her team and took pictures with the big trophy as team U.K. was on the floor still disappointed about their loss. After pictures, both teams went to the lockers and changed into their clothes before they started the game.
**//**
Back at the studio everyone gathered together as they took pictures with each other as a big group. Y/N out of habit took her camera and began taking pictures with everyone. As she was taking a picture of James and Michelle, she felt a tap on her shoulder after she took the photo.
“Hey.” Harry smiled, those dimples appearing once again.
“Hi, Harry.” Y/N beamed as she put her camera down.
“Will it cost me to get my photo taken?” He glanced down at the camera hanging from Y/N’s neck.
“No. But depends what kind of picture you want to take.” Y/N giggled as Harry’s face reddened a bit.
“Didn’t know you took those types of pictures.” Harry nudged her arm and smirked down at her.
Y/N furrowed her brows, finally realizing what he meant.
“I didn’t mean that and you know it.” Y/N said as she looked away from him as she focused on the group formed ahead of her.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to get ya mad, ‘m sorry, love." He apologized as he tapped Y/N's shoulder again and saw her brows still furrowed and her non-existent smile.
"It's fine. I just got... a little bothered by it."
"I apologise again, I didn't mean to make you feel bothered." He apologized as he ran a hand through his messy curls and slid the white headband out of his hair.
She glanced up at him and smiled. She looked back down at her camera hanging from her neck and grabbed it, "Do you still want a picture?"
**//**
"Didn't know you were such a great photographer." Harry teased as Y/N looked at him as if she was hurt.
"Wow. It's nice to hear that from the 'sign of the crimes' lad. Harry Styles, the most clumsiest person on stage." Y/N giggled after saying what she said.
"Heeeeyyyyy!" Harry slurred. His brows furrowed and eyes narrowed.
"Had to be honest, right?"
"That hurt a bit. But I will be honest, that is quite true, love." He smirked as he got up from sitting on the couch and lied down on the carpeted floor. He patted the spot next to him motioning for Y/N to join him.
After the game, Harry and Y/N started to talk more to each other and they started to like each other's company as well. So Y/N invited Harry if he wanted to hang around at her little room. He accepted her offer and now here they were lying on the floor as they stared up at the nicely painted ceilings.
"You're really great with that camera of yours, Y/N. Probably gonna have to ask ya to be my second photographer during my shows." Y/N stared at him if he was serious about it but nothing on his face showed if he was serious or not.
"Are you serious? You want me to be your new photographer?"
"I mean… if you want to." Harry muttered under his breath making it hard for Y/N to hear. He didn't look at her when he told her that, but probably it was nothing.
"I mean, yeah. I just- I just have to check my schedule if I'm free while you're on tour. When are you on tour exactly?"
"Oh love. I didn't think you wanted to. I was just saying it in the moment because I love your work, but if you want I can send you upcoming tour dates. Just don't show them to anybody, I haven't told the fans yet. They don't even know the second album is finished, I'm just waiting after a couple of weeks and I'm going to surprise them as I always do." He said as he flips his imaginary hair.
"Really nice of you, Harry."
"I'm not being mean! They probably already know about the album. There's a matter of time that news is going to spread before I even announce it."
"And how do you announce it?"
"I post three blank pictures on Instagram. Their reactions is what gets me each time. Their guessing is so overwhelming sometimes, but I love it."
"Hmm, interesting. You're such a beauty aren't you?" Y/N softly punched him on the arm. As Harry sent her a glare and quickly changed his demeanor to a cute smiling mess.
**//**
Time started to pass by as Y/N and Harry both lied on the floor. It was getting late, Y/N and Harry snuck a bit of yawns here and there while they were talking, but neither of them mentioned their tiredness.
Y/N was staring up at the ceiling as her hands were folded on top of her tummy. She almost drifted off to sleep, but Harry shook her shoulder.
“Love! Am I boring you? Do you want me to let you rest?” He asked as he was now on his side facing her.
Y/N rubbed her eyes a bit to get rid of the gloominess out of them.
“I’m sorry, Harry. I was just drifting to sleep for a bit.” Y/N murmured, as she faced Harry with her droopy eyes.
“I think I’m gonna leave, love. It is getting late,-”
“No. Don’t leave just yet, Harry. Can you stay for a bit longer, if only you want to.”
She held onto his arm as he looked down at her hand and looked back at her.
Harry was going to leave, but something in him doesn’t want to leave just yet. He knows that it is late and that he has to get back to his hotel so he can pack up because the next day he was going back home. But this, he couldn’t leave just yet. He couldn’t, he wouldn’t.
“Okay.”
Was all he could say. He lay back down on the floor next to Y/N and they started to talk about their favorite foods. They really did start to enjoy being together as friends. They both weren’t expecting to meet each other, but they were so glad that they met and that right now they were bonding and laughing at whatever terrible jokes Harry was telling and Y/N hiding her red face from all the laughter she shared with Harry.
One could say that they hit it off really well, but for now they were friends and they were okay with that. So yeah, for now they were okay with it.
**//**
For the next two hours, Y/N and Harry continued staring at the ceiling laughing and just enjoying each other’s company. They even got a bit closer to each other as Harry invited Y/N to lie her head on his outstretched arm. They didn’t know what time it was so they never knew when they both fell asleep. Both were comfortable lying on the floor and they were cozied up to each other so they could be warm enough.
Harry never ended up leaving. Their conversations were just too contagious which made him stay and not leave. So he stayed on the floor with her and kept her close to his chest as he smelled her hair and smiled to himself whenever she would get closer to him in her sleep. Talking to her was as if they were friends for a long time ago, as if they haven’t seen and talked to each other in years. He felt comfortable with Y/N and he couldn’t really explain why he felt this strong connection with her when they met just yesterday, but he felt that, and he was sure that she felt it as well. It was weird how they were brought together, but Harry and Y/N were glad they met and they both knew it in themselves that they were never going to regret meeting during that game of dodgeball.
*1 Month Later*
It was a month later and there were some big news for both Y/N and Harry. For Y/N, she was given so many jobs that she even had to reschedule whenever she had a new client and she found herself being super busy with appointments with her clients. As for Harry, he was on every channel. Well… not on every channel but channels that interviewed people. Harry finally released his second album this month and he was crazy about it, (I mean, who wouldn’t?) He announced new tour dates and he teased about merch currently being made. Boy was he a tease.
Anyways, Y/N and Harry were both talking to each other after the dodgeball game. Harry texted and called her a couple times a week, but Y/N didn’t because she was worried if she did, Harry was probably at another interview or just getting ready for his future tours. So, she didn’t really want to pester him by calling him or texting him. Harry was alright with it, he even encouraged her to call and text him and that she shouldn’t worry about him not answering right away, because he even knew how busy he got especially with this new album out.
**//**
*Hours Later*
Right now Y/N was lying down on her couch as she had the television on just for a distraction. She wasn’t really watching it, because she was focused editing a couple of pictures she took earlier today. She didn’t know what was going on the channel that she left the television on, but a certain someone caught her attention as she looked up to see Harry on the television as he was on another interview.
“So, Harry, we heard there’s a particular song dedicated to someone you met during a special event at ‘The Late Late Show with James Corden’. Is this true?” The man interviewing Harry asked, as he had no expression on his face at all.
“I mean it was an amazing experience writing and producing the album and I had a great time at the secret studios I was at, so that was fun.”
The man smiled and looked a bit annoyed. Probably because he didn’t quite get the answer he wanted. “But there’s a song in this second album that is about a certain someone. Can you tell me anything about that song and why you wrote it about that particular person?”
“There are so many songs on the album, so I think all of the songs are about things that personally impacted me. So yeah? There are some songs about certain people. There is one song about someone that has a talent with cameras and loves photographing the beautiful bits of life, so yeah. It was fun creating it.” Harry explained as he smiled towards the man.
“Does this person have a name, Harry?” The man narrowed his eyes at Harry as he hoped to get the answer now, hopefully.
Harry sips his coffee as he looks at the interviewer with that famous dimpled smile.
“Let’s move on.” He simply replied back.
Y/N continued watching the exclusive interview of the iconic second album of Harry’s. She already knew what the interviewer wanted to hear. That one song that Harry dedicated a song to her. She didn’t know why he wrote it, but he did tell her about writing a song about her. She was quite confused why he wrote it, but when she heard the song she understood why. He fell in love with her admiration of cameras which is something Y/N loves. He fell in love with how much spirit she had and how free she portrays herself, something that he wished he could feel at times. He also wrote it because he didn’t know how to tell her how special she was to him when they first met, but writing it in a song was much easier and in his opinion more beautiful and complimentary. Y/N agreed, it was a song that never left it’s rhythmic melodies from her head. The song was honest, and poetic lyrics that sounded like they came out of the mouth of Shakespeare.
Y/N loved the song and it was the only song that she always kept on repeat. She was probably being narcissistic, but she loved the song, she loved ‘her song’.
Harry and Y/N began dating four months later. Harry actually asked her through a skype call. He knew it wasn’t romantic and he wished to ask her properly with a nice dinner and lastly lying down on the grass and looking up at the stars. But he really wished he was with her right now. Y/N said ‘yes’ right away when he asked her and she really did wish that she was with him during that skype call. How she wished she was enveloped in his arms right now. She wished that she could feel his curious hands wandering over her bare skin and feeling herself shiver from the cold material of his rings. But she knew about his current circumstances where he was at and she understood that he had to be present for his shows.
Y/N wished she could cancel every appointment with her clients, but she knew she was going to feel guilty from canceling.
“I want you here, love. Do you think you can stay for the second half of the tour?” Harry asked. His face looked so cute from the pout appearing on his soft features. She wished she could kiss him, but the only thing she would be kissing was the screen of her laptop. She just couldn’t resist that cute face of his.
“I don’t know, Harry.”
“Do you have customers for the next three months?” He asked.
“You know I do, Harry.” Y/N sighed. She looked down at her book that had all the future appointments. “Wait, I think I have some free after this month.”
Y/N checked the dates for the next appointments she will have and they are all this upcoming week. She was going to be busy, but it was going to be worth it, she was finally taking some time off for vacation.
“I think I can go, Harry! I think I can make it through the next couple months, babe!” Y/N exclaimed as Harry smiled and looked genuinely happy for her and of course he was happy that she was going to be able to come along.
“I’m happy, love. See you soon darlin’, I have to get back to the dressing room and get ready. I’ll call you after the show, yeah?”
“Okay, bub. I love you Harry.”
“I love you too darlin’.” Harry waved as he puckered his lips making his kissy face.
**//**
And they both hung up. It was like that for the rest of the week. Calling, texting before or after his shows. So the next month Y/N and Harry were together in England where Harry had a couple shows to perform. Last week Harry went to Y/N’s apartment and surprised her by him being there so they could go together to the airport and head to England. He was already in London, but he wanted to see Y/N and he loved the idea of being with her during the flight.
Everything went well. During rehearsals and after the concert, everything went to plan. Harry had the time of his life as always seeing his incredible, and beautiful fans dancing and singing along with him. He felt even more happy which would be understandable because Y/N was there, but there was something else that made him happy, he was home.
**//**
That night, Harry drove Y/N and himself to his rented house. They didn’t have any plans for the night, but just watch some romcoms before going to sleep. But that didn’t quite happen. They made out on the couch as the television was on as Y/N and Harry were busy kissing each other’s lips and trying so hard to yank each other’s clothes off. It’s been so long since their last time and tonight they deserved it, it’s been so long.
Harry carried Y/N to his bedroom and lay her down on the mattress as he peppered kisses along her jawline and down her collar bone. Y/N started to shiver from the wet kisses that he left on her soft, and delicate skin. Harry, and his kisses were just so overwhelming.
“God, Y/N. You’re so gorgeous.” Harry muttered after every little kiss he tattooed onto her skin. “Such a beauty.” He slid off the straps of her tank top and kissed her shoulders and finally went to kiss her lips as Y/N was already a moaning mess.
Harry slid down and separated Y/N’s legs and landed kisses in the insides of her thighs and brought her pajama shorts down to her ankles and taking them off completely only leaving her with her panties. Harry ran his hands along her thighs and stopped on her core. He moved her panties to the side so he could stick a finger inside her opening.
“You’re already wet fo’ me, love.” He looked at Y/N as she tilted her head back as he licked one long swipe and stuck one finger in. “You missed me that much, hmm?” He hummed as he was eating Y/N out, causing her to let out a moan of ecstasy.
He kept pumping his finger in and out and now inserting two and then three fingers inside of her. Y/N was a moaning mess as she had her hands tangled in Harry’s hair as he moaned each time Y/N pulled harder and harder on his hair. Each time Harry pushed his fingers in Y/N grabbed a chunk of the comforter and turning her head so she could bite the pillow behind her head.
“Harry-, I’m gonna cum Har-,” Y/N panted out. Her breaths becoming a bit uneven.
“Cum, darlin’. Cum for me.” Harry dared. His eyes filled with lust.
Harry kept pushing and pulling out his fingers faster and faster as Y/N kept pulling his hair and balling her fists from the severe pleasure she continued to feel.
“Baby- Harry, please. I need you.” She panted as she bit Harry’s earlobe once he faced her.
“Cum fo’ me first, darlin’.” Harry smirked as he kept pumping his fingers inside of her as he kept his sights on her glossy eyes.
With each push Y/N became vulnerable and kept biting Harry’s earlobe and kissed him as a distraction from the pleasure she was feeling. Harry pushed his three fingers in for the last time and Y/N came undone, Harry’s fingers covered with her as he kissed her shoulders and kissed along her jawline. He brought his fingers up to his mouth and sucked them clean and kissed Y/N’s lips as he caressed her soft cheeks.
And so the rest of the evening Y/N and Harry made love for a couple of hours before they finally got too tired to continue.
Y/N was on her back as Harry was beside her, his chest going up and down as he tried to catch his breath.
“Harry?” Y/N whispered as Harry had his eyes closed and sweat on his forehead.
“Yeah, darlin’?”
Y/N scoots closer to him as Harry wraps his left arm around her and kisses her forehead.
“I missed you. I missed you so much, Harry.”
Harry smiled, “I missed you too, darlin’. But at least you have that song to listen to, hmm? You’ll always have my voice to listen to, baby.” Harry murmured to her as he cupped her face and kissed her luscious lips. Y/N leaned into his touch and giggled while they shared that intimate kiss of theirs.
“I love you so much, Harry.” Y/N mused. She poked Harry’s two big dimples on his cheeks and giggled when he wrapped both of his arms around her and flipped her so she could straddle his lap.
“I love you too, Y/N.” He replied and kissed her, and lastly booped her nose as Y/N giggled from his cuteness.
Harry looked beside him and grabbed Y/N’s camera that was sitting on the nightstand as he got the camera ready to take a picture as he admired Y/N’s beautiful naked body in front of him. Her body shimmering from the moon’s light shining on her glowing skin.
“Now, can I take that picture of you?”

Chilling tales of Riverdale, a crossover fic
Chapter 6 of a old fanfic but stil alive that is a mix of Riverdale, CAOS and Archie horror. Located in season 2 and will have differences with the canon for both shows. This fanfic contains corrections for something that bothers me in the canon like the fact that Toni's actress is not a first nation (this detail is there but presented differently and I hope to use the terms correctly ), the weird thing with the multi-cultural neo-Nazi (plus I go with the comic book where Archie is Jewish), the impacts of the snake dance, Joaquim (because it's weird that these friends talk about it exactly once in 22 episodes and in a disposable sentence), for Sabrina's family, as shocking as it sounds, given the dates given, yes Sabrina's father is literally 10 years older than Ambrose in  the show canon (not the actors, I know but it's worth wondering if Ambrose is aging well or if Edward is aging badly)and yes, you can find Toni or Sabrina pretty bitchy towards one or the other but don’t be afraid, no one is going to become a bad guy for the purposes of the plot, I just think they would have tensions between the two given the situation (I really like the two chararctere and I expect a possible friendship because who doesn't like Vitriolic Best buds?)Sorry, it was a long explanation, but I didn't want people to misunderstand my intentions.
*******************************************************************************************
-What do you think of Archie's plan? Asked Betty of Kevin.
-That it may come from a noble intention, but it will end badly.  You know how many accidents happen because a few idiots thought they knew better than everyone else," replied the young man. -And let's just say, if I'm willing to trust Archie, I doubt a little more about Reggie or Dilton. But we're a little hypocritical of ourselves.
-What do you mean? Asked Betty surprised her.
-Hello Betty, the whole Jason Blossom case where we played Scooby-doo? Call Kevin back.
-Maybe but we must do something... Me and Jug met tonight to read some documents that will help us with the black hood case. Do you want to come?
Kevin was surprised by the invitation asking if Betty is still trying to make amends but realizes that the runaway was at her boyfriend's house. Yeah, he was going to let him benefit from the doubt.
-Isn't that going to stress your guest out?
-Sabrina? Uh, I don't know, she seems really in need of human contact, I guess he won't have a problem. We just must avoid talking about where it comes from. She almost had a panic attack when I tried to talk about it. And I hope you like cats.
Once in front of Jughead's trailer, Betty and Kevin will knock on the door. Toni open them up.
-Hello Toni," said Betty, surprised to see her there. -I didn't know you'd be here.
- Jugh told me about your project and it's a subject I'm passionate about too. I see you brought someone along too.
-Oh yes, here is Kevin Keller, said the young woman to introduce her friend who reached out to her.
-Hi.
-Toni Topaz, said the interested party, but she did not take his hand. -In, Jugh is gone looking for food for everyone and I stayed here to babysit Poison Ivy.
-I heard that! Shouted a voice in the Caravan.
-That was the goal, Toni replied.
As Betty and Kevin entered, Sabrina came to meet them. She looked much more presentable than when Betty saw her in the drinks. She had worn a vintage horror red t-shirt, a short black skirt, a big jean jacket with a wool lining, knee socks with striped , mary-James, un gold necklace and the headband given by Toni held her short hair in place.
-Betty! I am happy to see you again," said the girl smiling.
-I am also happy to see you again Sabrina," Betty replied surprised by the welcome. -This is Kevin," she continued.
Sabrina looked up at the young man with an intriguing look before reaching out.
-Hello Kevin, it's nice to meet you.
-I also like your cute grunge loli look, I especially like your Gremlin shirt," Kevin continued, watching it blush.
-Thank you, it's probably one of the most representative things in my wardrobe... Most of my clothes are practical.
-Oh what a shame, maybe Ronnie can lend you something...
Kevin kept talking with Sabrina about everything and nothing that probably lowered her defenses, Betty hoped.   She went to Toni wondering what to say to her: she wanted to silence that stupid feeling of jealousy in her and become friends with that person whom Jughead clearly appreciated but she had no idea how to interact with that person. She decides to try the banality.
-I hope we have enough for everyone," she tried clumsily. -You will tell me what we owe you and Jughead.
-You will ask your non cousin, she is the one who is buying, Toni replied.
Betty was surprised to see that Toni knew the lie to invent about Sabrina's origin (she was her cousin exception if the question was asked by the Cooper or the Sheriff, then it would be Jughead's) but let it go
-Oh, that's nice of him.
-No, it's necessary. Because personally, if I were Jug, I'd throw away everything in my fridge!
-I'm not sure I understand," Betty said troubled.
Toni sighed before explaining below:
-You know the Ghoulies who attacked you?
-Yes?
-She didn't just beat them, she poisoned them.
-What? Says Betty surprised. - How? How? Are they...?
-With a mushroom junk from which she had covered her broom. They are in the hospital, Miss swears that even if it has violent effects it can be treated well and without any backlash but still. Personally, I won't eat what she's cooking just so we know more about Jolly Jane. Note, having a criminal mind could be useful even if there is a world of difference between a teenage poisoner whose primary purpose is not murder and a guy in his forties who kills by violent means such as a gun or knife. Both are motivated by punishing someone they consider having committed a crime.
Betty was speechless when she heard the revelation; it was a little too much for just five minutes.
-I... she... how did you come to that conclusion?  Does it end with a request?
-Jug and I have to investigate," Toni answered proudly. -And she has no choice but to confess.
-I see, said Betty trying to untangle what she was feeling. -But you said she didn't want to kill them?
-That's what they lend and for what I learned about this thing, it seems possible but it's still dangerous. Shit, I was there when one of the Ghoulies developed symptoms, he could have had a concussion or choked on his vomit. I don't have them in my heart and I believe her when she says they wanted to see harm done. ¨Damn, they already beat him up once....
-What? Exclaimed Betty, unwittingly drawing Sabrina and Kevin's attention.
-You didn't know... Toni realized. -Sorry, I didn't mean to... Hey, you two, it's a private conversation," she said.
-Sorry, but it's a little hard to ignore when space is so limited, and no one is discreet, Kevin replied.
- Not to mention the fact that most people have the decency to talk behind their backs when they are not in the room, says Sabrina with an icy voice.
-Oh, that's cute, you think I didn't want you to know," Toni mocked.
Betty wants to calm things down in between but also asks Sabrina and Jughead for explanations while we're at it. Because right now one part is shocked by her revelations but another part that she would like to silence herself thinks it's well done for the Ghoulies. But two things stop her; the first is something that only lasts for a moment and that she is the only one who has noticed.
She had felt ants crossing her and a sudden cold and noticed Sabrina's eyes: it seemed as if the pupils were dilating... No, not really, not really that they seemed to want to pass the iris without making it disappear by swallowing only the white, but the operation started without ending, the pupil returning to its normal size so quickly. A play of light, fatigue, who knows?
The other was the sound of the door opening to reveal Jughead carrying many of Pop.
-Hi, a little help would be nice.
Kevin and Toni hurry to help while the two blondes stay where they belong.
-Toni told you what? Asked Sabrina whispering.
-That you've been poisoning people. Do you confirm?
-Yes, but only in self-defense. I'm not stupid or cruel either, Betty.  I took something that's not fatal and with obvious symptoms, so they'd have to see a doctor. This way, he had less risk of complications if something went wrong. A silent aggressor is worse than a noisy one.
-It seems like you're talking about experience...says Betty was confused.
-I told you, my ancestors were pretty good at it and we kept their notes. We try to keep their knowledge alive and learn the tricks that can be used.
-That explains Toni's comment.
-You don't have to be afraid of me," Sabrina said in an almost begging tone.
Her sentence made Betty uncomfortable but not for the reason she thought she did. Sabrina seemed more frightened at the thought of being repelled than any consequence has its actions. She also had a darkness in her that terrorized her, something dark that if she pointed her dirty head at her, would drive away all those who had never had affection for her. Because Betty still wonders why Veronica was talking to her after what she did to Chuck, how Archie could say he wasn't good enough for her after knowing him all his life, why Jughead loved her and treated her as a fragile thing rather than some kind of monster escaping from the asylum. Was Sabrina just a rebellious child who became pariah like Polly or a good soul who had to learn never to let her guard down to survive like Kevin.
With hindsight, these next actions would seem very stupid, but too bad.
-I'm not afraid of you. For the moment, you haven't tried to hurt me or my loved ones, on the contrary, you wanted to protect us. So it's okay, but if you have other things you'd like to tell us that are important, it's better if you do it quickly. So that we can help you and avoid unpleasant surprises, but I would understand if you don't feel ready yet. It's just... I think it's a lot of trouble for Toni and...
-You too, Sabrina finished.
Not for the reasons you think, would have wanted to answer Betty. Because after this new information given by Toni, Sabrina could literally make the Ghoulies regurgitate their guts and bleed their eyes for what concerns her! And the one that realized horrifying her more than the idea that Sabrina was an expert in poison.
-I...
-Betty? Are you coming?
-Of course, Betty replied, giving her an emergency exit to allow Sabrina to leave the conversation.
Surprisingly, they had enough food for everyone and no one tried to tear someone else's face off. Sabrina's cat, Salem, had decided to make his presence known once the food was served, searching for it. He had managed to get some from his mistress, Betty and Kevin. As a reward, the young man even won that the animal settled on his lap by purring with satisfaction.  In fact, Betty realized that the group she and Jughead had assembled was actually quite effective: Toni had experience in the darker parts of the city had several ideas or the killer could have found an unregistered weapon in addition to his interest in criminology, Kevin also shares this passion in addition to having literally grown up among the criminal cases thanks to his father and Sabrina seemed to know more about the dark history of the region whether it was Riverdale, Greendale, Sunnydale or other city in the region without speaking that Toni had been right for this criminal mentality story.
-You can find a weapon anywhere, see it taken from no one where you are and delete the number is easy with the right contacts, says Toni.
- The guy probably also has security experience because he knows so much about surveillance and if he doesn't succeed in all these crimes, he didn't leave any clues.  It means that his first concern is his safety," Kevin continued.
-Speaking of which, am I the only one who thinks her motive is fake? False-Grundy of what you explained made sense in the sin department to be a pedophile but the other victims? Two teenagers taking drugs and perhaps having some adventurous caress?  A single man who had a short affair with a married woman for whom he may have had real rather than purely sexual feelings and who acts like a saint the rest of the time? added Sabrina. -A little weak as sinners, don't you think? And this even if he was only motivated by lust.
-The best thing would be to make a list of everything they have in common, Jughead cut out. -It can't hurt.
Betty felt her stomach twisting as she thought back to the serial killer's letters and saw Kevin's strong gaze. She would rather keep quiet, it could have been just a stupid joke after all....
-Easy! All from Nordside and privilege! Says Toni.
- Fake Grundy came from Greendale, Moose is the eldest of six children with parents composed of a soldier and a mother who has a home daycare not what I would call privileged, corrected her Kevin. -Moose has already said that if he can get into a good university it will only be because he is good at football and they will want more minorities.
-Fred Andrew is also not rolling in gold, gave up Jughead.
- Grundy still lived in Nordside, Toni continued. -And how is this guy a minority? She continued surprised.
- His mother is an Amerindian. But she was adopted so Moose just knows the name of her tribute, unfortunately. And before you ask, they never had any government money for it because his mother thinks it's horrible to just use it to make ends meet, Kevin concluded.
-Uktena? Sabrina asked.
-I think so, said Kevin.
-Impossible, said Toni. -I am one and I've never heard of him.
-That's normal, isn't it? They were almost all massacred, only children and a few naaldlooshiis survived. The first dispersed to the four winds and the second having found refuge in Greendale. Honestly, that's the way it is in every small town, if you go through people's genealogies, discover lots of weird links and cousins you didn't know you had.
Betty almost laughed as she remembered the whole drama with her family and the Blossoms. Oh my God, she didn't know how right she was.
-And I'm going to be honest like Moose, I wouldn't have known you were if you hadn't told me, Sabrina continued. By whom, by the way?
-My grandfather, Toni answered quickly.
-Oh, so you're a Native American quarter?
-Well, technically yes," said Toni suddenly uncomfortable.
-Technically? Insista Sabrina.
-He is my grandmother's husband but he is not the father of his children, but he adopts them and raises them! So that counts, right? She defended herself.
-It makes him a good man and definitely your grandfather! But as a very white girl, I'm not going to get into a discussion about whether you can say you're culturally Native American," says Sabrina laughing.
-Are you from your origins? Oh, don't worry, don't you have to talk about Mom and Dad, just say if you have something interesting in there? Asked Toni, frustrated at having been taken to class.
-My grandfather was an American, but he lived in England where he met my grandmother who was herself a mixed English and Australian. They got married, they have my three aunts before returning to the United States and having my father. The oldest of my aunts is staying there with her late husband.
-Did she marry young or does she just have a big difference with your father? Ask Jugh.
-Both. My father and cousin must be about ten years apart. Her husband was Afro-English and otherwise we also crossed the geneological tree we have German, Indian, French and Uktena
-What's is that word you use? Nanalooshi? Asked Kevin.
-An abomination/victim! Both girls said with a heart.
-Okay. Maybe…, Betty began.
-Hey, it's my culture! These people were criminals who deserved their fate! Says Toni.
-Need I remind you that being gay or having an abortion was once a crime? Most of his people were healers for not being able to heal someone or sick people rejected out of fear? Says Sabrina.
Jughead decided to intervene at that moment:
-Maybe get back to the main topic? I don't think we can solve this issue tonight, but maybe the Black Hood issue.
The two girls stared at each other but obeyed each other. Jughead continued:
-I admit that even if there is still the possibility that only attacks people he can reach and leaves out targets like Hiram Lodge, it doesn't go with his provocative attitude.
-Overcompensation? ask Kevin.
Jughead shook her unconvinced head before turning to Sabrina.
-Sabrina, can I ask you something else with this investigation and was hoping for an honest answer?
-Wow, almost no pressure! Says Sabrina uncomfortable. -You can always try. I wouldn't lie, but I keep the privilege of pleading the fifth.
The cat suddenly stopped purring on Kevin's lap and he felt it tender. Did the animal feel the stress of its owner?
-I suspect that Greendale is not a village, but have you known anyone with a connection to the real Miss Grundy or the fake one? Her real name was Jennifer Gibson, known as Jughead.
Sabrina seemed to reassure immediately, and the cat became soft again on Kevin's lap.
-Oh, just that. I don't know Jennifer or any Gibson. I know a little bit of some of the Grundy family, but it's just that we went to the same church. I can try to answer as best I can about them if you want but I don't see anything very useful in it.
-Do you think the killer could have come from there? Suddenly ask Kevin.
-What makes you think that? Asked Betty surprise.
-He was very comfortable with this attack: he succeeded in his murder and was much more violent with it. It was a crime of passion! If the killer hadn't sent personal belongings from the other victims, I would have said it was someone who wanted revenge on her and made it look like the work of the Blackhood," Kevin explained.
-Aren't you saying this whole thing would be a plot to get rid of fake Grundy? Toni asked.
-It does seem a little big to me, says Betty.
-There may be another explanation... Sabrina whispered.
This time, the cat jumps from Kevin's knees to Sabrina's knees, who mechanically started stroking him.
-It's a little silly, but maybe the reason he took his time was because he knew no one would bother him.
-Because he attacked her at home? Asked Betty.
-Among other things. But also... It's really stupid but... It's Greendale. Let us say that the population has certain habits. Like not leaving the house after dark. Especially if you hear screams.
Toni laughs before answering:
-It's Greendale, not Los Angeles! What the hell are you gonna do if I drag you into my corner!
Sabrina looked at Toni with deep boredom and replied:
-I never said I was part of a superstitious population, on the contrary I loved walking at night! But I can tell you that I am a minority and even outside there are people who will hesitate. The city has traumas that night brings back.
-What kind of trauma?" Betty asked.
-Want to hear stories of heroes and monsters? This is far from our study topic....
-Oh no! No! I want to hear this story! Exclaimed Kevin with stars in his eyes. It's even better when it's based on real-life experience.
Kevin had always been fascinated by horror and gore, never missing an opportunity to expand his repertoire of history by the fire.
-I guess a break can't hurt, Betty yielded.
The cat jumped from Sabrina's knees to take refuge in the room, Sabrina looked at him worried but quickly recovered.
Sabrina smiled and began her story:
-The settlers would arrive in America...
-Seriously, how far do you have to start? Toni asked.
-It's just a summary to get you in the mood! So all his settlers are there to escape persecution and build a free and accepting land...It really took a hypocritical level of hypocrisy crazy enough to believe such shit. The local population is mistreated like women, pocs, other religions and everything else that comes out of their morals stuck puritanically to the impossible criteria. In this wonderful hell on earth that the trials of heretics begin, it seems, very ironic when you consider that most people have fled from these persecutions in Europe. The most famous of his trials is of course Salem and this despite who is not the most murderous, in fact he shines by his mediocrity! His popularity is probably related to his industry from the beginning turning murder, torture, rape and treason into entertainment for the whole family, go figure! Sabrina continued.
-Well, Confederate soldiers have statues, don't they? Not to mention dumb people like Christophe Colom, says Toni coldly.
-True, Toni, that's right. But good for us the rest of the story is more joyful: Greendale is not spared by this madness, the vast majority of non-Puritanical settlers had even been driven from the lands they had or they had settled by the most extremist leaving them without homes or resources and some poor souls are offered in sacrifice to their larvae addictive to the suffering of others. Hanging slowly, fighting to keep the air from their lungs, losing control of functions in front of their beaten child in front of their execution zones with religious leaders telling them to bow their heads and let the scapegoats be sacrificed for the good of others, Sabrina continued, filled with cold anger.
-Sabrina, don't bother to be so precise we just ate," moans Betty.
-Betty, you've been through worse, make fun of Kevin nicely.
Jughead attracts his girlfriend against him and Sabrina takes over:
-So many decided that they were because it was all women who were tired of shaving walls and just watched them suffer! They had to expect it badly and no consequence could be worse than what they were going through, to act. They will not flee, they will not hide and more importantly, they will no longer let people get hurt with impunity....
-One of your ancestors among them, Sabrina? Jughead asked curiously.
-Not impossible, Sabrina said with a little smile. So they broke into his so-called hunters, judges and other criminals who hide under titles. They would find them and their families: they would slit their throats, skin them alive and tear their hearts still beating from their chests! And to make the message clear, they will throw their carcasses to the same trees where their victims were murdered!
Betty looked at the storyteller in shock, so the way Sabrina told her story was disturbing. You could feel a kind of pride and respect in his words. And his expression! Betty thought she would rather have seen a psychotic smile than that kid's expression of a joke, laughing eyes and a candid smile!
-And with the bodies a note sticking on one of the bodies warning that it was not revenge, only a warning. If such horror were to happen again in Greendale or even in a nearby town or village, they would be happy to show that they had not yet seen anything! And it worked, the inhabitants of Greendale learned how to love and respect its slightly different inhabitants. Night and the forest have remained their domain and even nowadays, one can laugh at his stories, at night when the moon shines and one wonder if one waits for a cry in the distance, that sometimes perhaps just maybe, there is still one of his women who watches over the grain. And fine! Sabrina said, clapping her hands.
-Great story! I wish Riverdale had had something like that! Says Kevin with a big smile.
-Not bad, I admit that it's nice that oppressing them wins and not because of the power of love or some shit like that," Toni said.
-Not sure that people will build a museum to attract tourists with this history... Seeing children, violence is sometimes the solution, says Jughead more troubled.
-Are you saying they killed their families too? Asked Betty to horrify.
-Yes, Sabrina said as she realized the implications. -But they had done the same thing... and if it makes you feel better, as much they had peace after that, as much the women or at least the woman who organized everything had to pay for it to the leaders of her community more for overriding their permission than because they had problems with her methods. No problem has taken advantage of the benefits anyway I don't think anyone is learning anything new.
-Indeed, and it continues to this day! The minorities pay, suffer and fight while the rest benefit from advancing by posing as moral guardians," says Toni gloomily.
Jughead clumsily tapped Toni's shoulder but she seemed to appreciate the attention.
-So, your theory is that people if they heard something, they didn't do anything because of these stories? Says Betty, still trying to silence her illogical feelings by focusing on something else.
-I know it sounds stupid, but superstition is stupid by definition! Easy to say that it's bullshit in broad daylight with friends, it's a whole different story at night, alone when every shadow looks like a ghost. You don't care about people who believe in Bloody Mary but not enough to try the ritual just to prove to them that it's bullshit. My point is that maybe this guy was lucky or maybe he knew they had old monsters to use as a screen but in the end, he could kill her.
-So, we eliminate the theory that false Grundy was his only intended victim, but we add that he can come from Greendale or at least be familiar with the city? Asked Kevin.
Everyone nodded, and Kevin wrote their last notes.
-What's the result? Asked Jughead.
-Uh... male, white, in his forties, with a high probability of having green eyes, height and average weight according to the information we have, in good physical condition, knows how to shoot, knows the city of Riverdale and Grendales well, has access to private information, seems obsessed with the sins of the city which may indicate that he is religious in a way, concludes Kevin by always having a supportive eye towards Betty. -In other words, we don't have much.
-Bright green eyes are the rarest natural color in humans, only 2% of the population has eyes of this color, says Jughead.
-Ironic as a remark in a room with 3 people with green eyes, Kevin remarked, referring to himself, Betty and Sabrina, all of whom have eyes of this color. He could even have included Jughead so the look oscillating between green and blue.
Everyone stared at him for a moment Kevin who caught up:
-Hey, I'm not accusing anyone, it was just a remark that includes me too! You don't have to get paranoid.
-Yes, in addition, limiting oneself to only people with green eyes would be counterproductive. Archie was in shock, the Blackhood's eyes could be hazelnut or blue but seemed green because of the lighting, Jughead recalled.
-We should still prioritize them without kidnapping suspects because they have a different color," says Betty.
-Good idea," Jughead approved.
-Speaking of Archie, can either of you explain how the fact that his father got shot gives him the right to leave a neo-Nazi group? Said frustrated Toni.
The other four turned to Toni, shocked by his accusations.
-Toni, what are you talking about the red circle? Asked troubled Betty.
-Yes, I'm talking about these morons! Ready to attack the southside in the first movement! Toni continued.
-I didn't know that the neo-Nazis had become multicultural," says Sabrina coldly.
-Sorry? Toni asked.
-Apology accepter, Sabrina quickly said, taking advantage of Toni's poor choice of words. -But my point is that I don't understand why you call a multi-ethnic group without any iconography related to fascism or Nazism, Sabrina continued.
-And Archie is Jewish by his mother, feels obliged to specify Betty to defend Archie. Information that was greeted by a frustrated look from Tony and a satisfied look from Sabrina.
-They had hoods... Toni began.
And they were bare-chested, usually except for a bad case of Vertigo, people have the same color face and torso, the Sabrina cut.
-I was going to say that the KKK wears hoods too! Toni defended himself.
-Like many Islamic extremist groups or pussyriots, I don't see you accusing them of being one or the other, Sabrina continued.
-As soon as we could all agree that it looked like bad porn at first? Tempted awkwardly Kevin only reaping the fiery gaze of the two girls.  Betty also tried to calm the situation down:
-This is the third time we've changed the subject, I think it's a sign that everyone is getting tired. We've made good progress, so why are we getting
-Sorry, but if it's to make the Southside serve as a scapegoat, then it'll be without me, Toni shouted before leaving the caravan.
-Toni, wait! Says Jughead as he goes to his suite leaving the other three alone.
Betty sighed with her head between her hands.
-Sorry," said Sabrina. -I shouldn't have corrected it.
-You didn't do anything wrong," Betty said flatly. -She needed to vent her anger one way or another, my sister is the same.
- Do you have a sister?
-Yes, Polly.
(And a brother somewhere she thought silently).
-Is it just Polly, Pollyanna or Appoly? Sabrina asked.
-Uh... Pollyanna, says Betty surprised by the question. -My mother likes the classics, Pollyanna after the novel of the same name and I am Elizabeth after Pride and Prejudice.
Kevin had a little laugh, from what he knew about Betty's mother, a novel about an indescribable optimist and another about the danger of preconceived ideas and misplaced pride seemed quite funny from Alice Cooper. Betty seemed to think the same thing because her expression seemed closer to a I know what you think than a hurt expression.
- Not everyone can have a name with a cool meaning, others like your servant are named after the top 10 popular names of 2003, complains Kevin. - What about you? Was he a fan of the movie with Audrey Hepburn? Asked Kevin.
-Maybe. But I think the important part was the A at the end," says Sabrina.
-The A? continued Kevin that Betty could see mentally taking notes.
-All the girls in my family for more than 400 years have a name that ends in A even if it means changing the spelling: Sabrina, Zelda, Hilda, Vesta, Esmeralda, Lydia, Priscilla, Evanora, Locasta Kezia, Sara and many more!
-I hope there are still some good ones left among them, Kevin continued.
-We'll see, you already must have a daughter on the way to do that! Retorqued Sabrina.
-I hope it's not too bad with Toni," says Betty as she leaves with Kevin.
-Yes, especially since Sabrina should have apologized to me. I had planned to make connections with her, replied this one.
-Did you want to hear from Joaquin? Asked Betty.
-I just wanted to know if he was okay," Kevin said hastily. -His life was not exactly easy and no matter what happened between us, I don't wish him any misfortune.
-I don't judge, on the contrary if you came back together, we could have double dates with our snake buddies, Betty tried.
-Yes, and we can visit them together in prison," says Kevin sarcastically. -Why don't you ask the question that burns your tongue?
-On Sabrina?
-On Luna Lovegood herself.
-So?
She's self-monitoring, I can confirm that, but she talks as much as I do and if she tries to be careful, she lets things slip. She comes from Greendale with her family who has been there for a long time, among the names of women she named some are obscure enough that if Spellman is her real name can find them. Plus, she was talking about doing a congregation and seems to have had a good education so probably was at school at one time or another. Hopefully, someone saw something.
-Won't it be too hard to get? Betty continued.
-My father is already contacting the Greendale police because of the black hood and I just need to ask the archives manager to send us information pretending it's for my father. Madge trusts me, I'm the gay son she never had," Kevin proudly said.
-Oh, my God, Kevin, you're awesome!
-I know but I can't promise you a result; too precise would risk attracting attention and it may be that it is really nothing. For all we know, she could be a bored mythomaniac or a kid who lives without contact with civilization because her parents are in a cult or something, Kevin reminded her. -And you will have to deal with his reaction and or the problems that will follow, Kevin reminded him.
-I will take responsibility for my actions, Betty promised.
-Toni, wait! Jughead shouted.
-What? Asked Toni frustrated but stopped anyway.
-I'm sorry about what just happened, but no one is our enemy!
-Our enemy? Asked intrigues Toni.
-I'm going to become a Southside Serpent, aren't I? And Betty defended the snakes and my father in the newspaper even though it made her threaten, Kevin made....
-Allows Joaquin to flee the city, Toni added.
-Do you know each other? Asked Jughead.
-There are exactly 3 LGBT Serpent of our age in and for all, we stick together.
-Joaquin, you...including Jughead
-I like guys but I like girls even more," smiles Toni. -And Fang is like me, but it stays between us.
-I promise! And for Archie....
-He is an idiot, and someone will end up hurting: turn into a martyr if it is someone from the north and if it is someone from the south, he will probably have run after it, concluded Toni.
-Yes, unfortunately. I intend to fix this. It's horrible what's his father’s but drowning a bunch of idiots in their own testosterone isn't going to help the situation. Neither is Sweet peas' plan.
-He is not the only one to have this point seen," said Toni gloomily. -But you can't do anything until you're an official member. I'll also have to talk to your roommate.
-Why?
Toni had a little amused smile
When they returned, they found Sabrina alone cleaning up. The cat eats with enthusiasm the little bit of staying behind.
-They left but Betty said you could do the text her, Sabrina quickly answered.
-I'll do it right away," replied Jughead, taking his phone and settling down on the sofa.
-It's all right Toni? continued Sabrina
-Not bad, don't even think of taking advantage of a moment of weakness for your cat to eat me," replied this one. -Besides, you and I must have a chat," she continued, taking Sabrina's wrist and dragging her into the room.
Sabrina stiffened under her fingers but did not try to resist, following her. Toni saw the cat watching her following her with her eyes...Stupid animal!
Toni closed the door and turned to Sabrina who had sat on the bed.
-Why this sudden desire for privacy, Antoinette? Asked the other coldly.
-Don't flatter yourself, Sabrinette," said Toni before taking a deep breath and choosing her words carefully:
-I need you to listen to me: Jughead is going to have to have an initiation to be a gang member. One of the challenges for this involves getting into his home. We won't touch you and nothing serious will happen, okay?
-For this one, said with a kind of amusing dry Sabrina. No problem! - No problem! Just let me know when I should take out my first aid kit.
- I never talked about that! Said Toni forcefully.
-So, none of the events can hurt Jughead? Sabrina asked with a big smile.
-Well... Toni began.
-That's what I thought," said Sabrina clinically. -Don't worry, I'm not judging and it's none of my business.
Toni should be happy to hear him say that, shouldn't she? Or maybe he replies that it is none of his business. But she can't do it. There was something wrong with this girl; something missing or at least had been damaged, leaving that feeling of cold and death that comes out of her. Sabrina's gaze passes over Toni in such a clinical way that she feels naked: an animal judging its prey before speaking:
-I like Jughead, he's a good person. I won't let anything happen to her, I promise, conclude this one with a smile. Then she reattached in force:
-Same, worse or better than for you?
-What?
-Your initiation? Is Jughead going to get the same one as you or is it going to be different? Sabrina continued.
Images of the snake dance reappeared in Toni's head with feelings of anger, shame and disgust. Dancing at the age of 14 in front of adult men, some of whom she considers to be family and others who had looked like a piece of meat, still haunting her today. So far from the stories of pure warriors of his grandfather protecting theirs. Again, one of the elders had told him what it was like before FP took the lead of the Serpent...
-I see...said Sabrina looking sade to the surprise Toni.
-What do you see? Toni asked dryly.
She looked embarrassed before she answered:
-Your expression... I’m sorry. It's not a good memory...
- Like when you come from? Because I don't know if you ran away from home because you wanted to live the life of a young adult novel character or if you're as fucked up as you say you are going to have to give something other than your word. Because believe me, I know what it's like to have no one and not be able to go to the cops...
Sabrina stiffened up but replied with a smile closer to the grimace:
- I gave you my hometown, didn't I? Doesn't that give me points for good conduct?  And you want to take me out with the not so different after involving that I hide by boredom? Oh Antoinette, you know nothing about my situation and if you were me, you'd wish you were dead! So, you take care of Jughead and I'll be there if you ever need help to put the pieces back together again because if it were really safe, I wouldn't have the face of someone who would take him to the slaughterhouse, Sabrina continued, spitting out his venom.
-You crazy bit...started Tony who wasn't as to why she hadn't hit him yet.
(Because it would mean touching her) and Tony's gut told her that something horrible would happen if she did. The poisoning episode was probably not the worst.
-Not a you are wrong or it a lie? If you switched to insults, it's because I had a good argument.
Then seeming to find a semblance of calm:
-Everyone survives as best they can, I don't judge, I don't think I even have the right to judge others' choices anymore. I'm just asking you the same thing, okay? I want help to thank you for your help and I will leave at the slightest sign of disturbance on your part," she said, realizing that the violence of her reaction and extending her hand apologizes.
-Swear on what little I have left, Antoinette.
Toni, gave him a cold look and before saying:
-Don't you dare go out the room when we get back tomorrow, before turning his back on her and leaving the room.

The First Day and Night
The first day the twins were home was not quite as bad as they thought it would be. The night however would prove to be a different story all together. James, Lily, and Harry were there to welcome the family home. Since Remus had asked them over because they were a little nervous and wanted to make sure they were doing everything right.
“You know,” James piped up after a while. “Fatherhood looks good on you. Can’t say that I ever expected you to settle down and have your own though,” he commented, watching his best mate rock Emma to sleep. Sirius chuckled shaking his head.
“Never thought I’d settle down either, but,” he paused glancing up at Remus, “I’m glad I did. I wouldn’t give any of this up,” a soft smile spread across his face as he watched his husband feeding their son, the brightest smile stretched across the werewolf's face as Regulus stared up at him.
“Jamie I think it’s time we go. Harry’s getting restless and I don’t want him waking Em and Regs,” Lily said as she walked into the room, one hand placed on her protruding stomach and the other holding her four year old from running off again. Lily was already half way through he second pregnancy and it put Remus and Sirius at ease, knowing their would be kids closer in age to Em and Reggie.
“Coming love. We’ll see you two later. Don’t be afraid to floo if you need something,” James said, carefully hugging both of them before leaving with his own family. Thankfully they only lived down the street so if there was an emergency it wouldn’t take them long to get there.
Sirius moved from where he was sat so he could sit next to Remus, letting the other male gently lean against him. Regulus had stopped feeding and was now slowly falling asleep against Remus’ chest. Emma was already asleep, sucking on her thumb and playing with her nose with her other fingers, her other hand firmly clutching Sirius’ finger.
“It’s kinda surreal isn’t it?” Remus asked softly. “I mean we spent so long thinking we couldn’t have this because of… well me, but then the law changed and I know it still took almost three years, but it’s just kind of surreal that they’re finally here,”
“It’s a dream come true,” Sirius murmured, pressing a kiss to Remus’ shoulder. “Come on, we should get them to bed,”
The rest of the day was filled with both men running around looking for this and that. Once Regulus had woken up crying for a nappy change Emma had woken to her brothers cries and started crying as well. It had both men running around the house looking for the baby bag before finding it by the front door.
Remus had changed Regulus’ nappy while Sirius tried to calm Emma, though it seemed like nothing was working. That was until Sirius had started singing softly. Something he usually did when he started getting just the slightest bit stressed out. Remus had never heard of the song, considering it was in french, but it seemed to do the trick as Emma started quieting down. Eventually stopping and just looking around the nursery with wide unseeing eyes.
“Where did you learnt that?” Remus asked as they made their way back to the living room.
“Mother used to sing to Reggie when he would get fussy. That was a common one she would sing. Though I never knew what she was saying until I was a little older,” Sirius replied, wedging himself into the corner of their couch, facing Remus as he did the same.
(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)
The first cry of the night was two hours after they had gone to bed, so roughly 11:30. Remus had gotten up, since he was the one who woke up, and headed into the nursery where Regulus was crying, his chubby face screwed up and bright red. Remus picked up the small boy, checking for a wet nappy and if the boy was hungry. After those were ruled out he simply sat in the rocking chair and cuddled the boy, cooing softly at him. He had settled a little while after that, merely looking around the dimly lit room with his foggy unseeing eyes.
“Do you want me to take him?” Sirius yawned from the doorway. “You’ve been up for half an hour now. I can take him if you want,”
“No that’s alright. He’s already drifting back off. I’ll be done in a minute,” Remus replied, shaking his head, though he never took his eyes off his son. “Siri, what are we gonna do for the moon?” Remus asked after a long pause.
“What we normally do. We’ll get your wolfsbane from Severus and Lils and James will watch the twins. Don’t worry love, we talked about it already. It’ll just be me and you on the moons,” Sirius replied walking over to his husband, threading his fingers through Regulus’ sandy brown hair. “Everything’ll be fine,” Sirius assured him. Remus nodded slightly, both men watching as their little boy drifted back asleep.
“Ugh,” Remus groaned as one of the twins started crying. It was the third time in two hours that one of them had woken up and it was only a matter of time before the other twin would wake up and scream with their sibling. “Siri it’s your turn,” Remus grumbled, cracking on eye open to check the time. Another groan left his mouth at the flashing red letters than red 3:46.
“Nuh uh, I was just up with Em. S’your turn,” Sirius slurred sleepily. Remus opened his mouth to argue, but another cry had both of them groaning. Now it was both of their turns.
Dragging themselves out of bed they moved across the hall, each grabbing a twin to check what was wrong. Em ended up needing a nappy change and Regs was just being fussy.
By the time morning came both men were worn out and in desperate need of coffee. The two had been woken up at least two more times before being able to sleep at least another hour before they did need to get up.  Remus held the twins while Sirius made the coffee, both praying the twins would star quite and content till they had at least had a cup of coffee.
Luckily they stayed quiet and content long enough for both to have a cup of coffee and a small amount of breakfast before they demanded their own breakfast. After being fed the small family sat on the couch. Remus and Sirius leaned against each other, Emma slowly falling asleep curled against Remus’ chest and Regulus sleeping peacefully on Sirius’ chest.
And that was how James and Lily found them roughly an hour later. Both parents fast asleep, gently cradling their children. Lily smiled at the sight, summoning Remus’ camera and snapping a photo of the new family. It would later become one of the families favorite pictures as it was their first of many the would come.
(I loved how much you guys enjoyed this drabble, so I decided to make a little series out of it. It'll be little snap shots into the Lupin-Black family. Varying in time. Though they should be in order. After a have a few I'll start a master list for them and have them in order. I've also made character sheets for the little ones, which will be shared soon. Enjoy! This particular one is set in 1984. So Harry is 3-4 and the adults are 24-25)

Things We Didn’t Tell You 5
Harry Potter AU
Pairings: Sirius Black x Reader.
Link to Chapter 4
Rating: M
______
James looked up when Sirius stormed down the stairs looking ready to burn the world down. He quickly jumped up to go into best-friend mode.
“You look like you could use a drink.”
Sirius rolled his eyes. He could use a lot of drinks! If he wouldn’t die from alcohol poisoning, downing an entire bottle of whiskey didn’t sound half bad.
“You have no idea!”
James reached over and tossed him a shirt.
“Let’s go out. May want to put this on though. Y/n will kill me if you get sick.”
30 minutes later,
James sat watching Sirius down shot after shot of whiskey while chain-smoking. He wasn’t going to ask Sirius what happened with his parents but this behavior wasn’t normal.
“When did you start smoking again?”
Sirius downed another shot.
“Tonight.”
James sighed at Sirius one-worded answers. He had a feeling that he was going to have to pry a lot more.
“I wasn’t going to ask but what happened with your parents? I’m concerned.”
“You should be.”
Sirius said, coldly. He took a breath before looking at James.
“They called Y/n a whore. Get this shit...they said that I could join the family again but I had to abandon Y/n and take Demelza away from her. I can’t leave Y/n and I sure as hell wouldn’t take our baby from her. Demelza and I need her too much.”
James' expression darkened. Has he really heard his best friend correctly? His dislike for the Black family increased more than he thought possible. Looking at Sirius’ depressed expression made James want to go and personally fight Orion and Walburga.
“What did you tell them?”
Sirius put out the cigarette that he was holding. His rage was also hyper focused on Regulus. His coward of a little brother didn't even try to say anything. The little twat just sat silently the whole time like a worthless coward.
“After I sent Y/n outside with the baby I told them they could kiss my ass and some other curse words.”
James was pleased by Sirius’ response. That was Sirius had stood up to his parents yet again.
“Sirius, you did the right thing. I think you know that. Those quack jobs don’t deserve you in their life and you sure as hell don’t need them. As you said, they are like nuclear waste, Demi doesn’t need that.”
Sirius’ eyes rolled back up.
“I don’t want to be like them. I look at Demelza and am petrified that I am going to turn into my father.”
“You’re not! Mate, I have seen you with that baby and you are nothing like your father. Where is this coming from?”
James asked.
“It's always in the back of my mind.”
James was quiet for a moment before perking up.
“Answer me this. Was your father there when you or Regulus was born?”
“No. He had better things to do.”
James nodded, looking thoughtful.
“And how did you handle Demelza’s birth?”
Sirius’ eyes widened. He hadn’t thought about Demelza’s birth in a while.
“It was rough for me. Y/n handled it like the goddess she is. I was scared to death of that baby. For a good two hours anytime she made a peep I almost screamed like a girl. I finally held her for a while...I’ve never loved someone like her.”
James started laughing hard.
“You’re a great dad.”
2 hours later…
Sirius was surprised to see you sitting at the table when he walked back in with James. He frowned at how Lily and yourself looked grim.
“Ladies, what’s going on?”
You were the one that spoke first.
“Marlene’s dead.”
James’ mouth dropped.
“What?”
You stood and closed the distance between Sirius and yourself. The expression on Sirius’ face made your heart hurt.
“Her whole family is dead. We just got word about an hour ago.”
James put a hand over his mouth as you tried to snuggle your face against Sirius’ chest.
“Are you sure?”
Sirius managed to ask. You nodded.
“Dumbledore just told us.”
“Our numbers just keep going down and down.”
Lily replied, weakly. She hadn’t been able to speak for a few moments. The realization that your numbers were rapidly decreasing in great numbers was numbing. James, meanwhile, put down the drink that he had poured.
“Well, that just does it. Sirius, Y/n I think that the two of you need to stay here for a while longer. We can all keep each other safe.”
Sirius' grey eyes rolled up.
“We’re losing enough friends.”
He turned and walked from the room without another word. Sirius couldn’t stand being in the room any longer. He knew that he would feel guilty for leaving you this way but he needed to be alone.
The following month and a half were one of the worst that everyone had in a very long time. Sirius and yourself seemed to be having the worst of anyone. Since Marlene’s death, you watched as Sirius drifted further and further from you. He started going off on more missions leaving Demelza and yourself for longer periods of time. You tried to say it was due to everything that had happened with his parents than Marlene, however, the insecure side of you knew that he was mourning his ex-lover.
When Sirius was home, he wasn’t really “home.” He seemed to always have his eye on getting out the door. It didn’t matter how much you begged him to stay with you the answer was always no. The romance seemed to vanish as quickly as it had begun. Sex wasn’t happening. When it did, Sirius was so quick to get himself off then pull away from you.
“Is he gone again?”
You looked up from the book that you were reading to see Regulus in the doorway. The last time that you had seen him was the night of that ill-fated dinner.
“Yeah. He doesn’t spend much time anymore.”
“He’s being an idiot.”
Regulus said as he joined you on the couch. Your green eyes rolled up to him.
“No, he isn’t. Sirius is going through a lot. Between whatever happened with your charming parents and Marlene dying…”
Regulus rolled his eyes. Why were you so worried about Sirius and Marlene? Regulus knew the answer. You thought that Sirius was still in love with the now-dead witch and Regulus agreed with you. He couldn’t help wondering how many women one man needed.
“Why are you always comparing yourself with Marlene? She’s a crystal and you are a diamond.”
“Reggie…”
Regulus scooted closer.
“You haven’t called me that in years. I miss this...us...being friends.”
When Regulus pulled you into a kiss you didn’t know who to react. You sat awkwardly as Regulus kissed you hungrily. His tongue was on your lips rubbing gently. Regulus moaned into the kiss as he was finally getting what he wanted (for once). He let it slide that you were sitting totally motionless and not moving to kiss him back.
After a few moments, you finally snapped back into reality and was able to push him away. You jumped up and held your hands out.
“Whoa! What are you doing? What are you thinking?!”
Regulus leaned back before standing up with a smirk.
“Just wanted to try something. Bye, love.”
You shivered at how he sounded like Sirius when he said love. He gave you a shit-eating grin before leaving the room without another word.
The nightmare…
You wanted to scream. The nightmare you frequently had was coming true. Sirius was out there putting his life in danger and Regulus was waiting to take his place once Sirius was dead. You, unfortunately, were in the horrible place of watching your life fall apart!
3 days later…
It was 11:00 pm when Sirius arrived home. He held a few red roses in his left hand. Sirius was feeling beyond guilty. He knew that he had been a shit excuse for a husband and father lately. As much as he wanted to tell you everything that was bothering him; he couldn’t. Talking about his feelings had never been a strong point and that wasn’t changing anytime soon.
Sirius knew that his distance had begun to take its toll on you. The night before last when he spoke to you, you sounded distant. Your voice was almost robotic as Sirius tried to question you on how you and the baby were.
In his head, Sirius knew exactly what he wanted to say,
“Y/n, there is nothing wrong with you and me. I am so happy with you. You make me happy. I have this stupid grin on my face whenever I am within 8 feet of you. It's just my parents...they crushed me again. I had hopes that maybe they changed. The cold things they said about you...I can never forgive. As far as Marlene, I’m sad that she died. She didn’t deserve to go like that”
“Are those roses for me?”
Sirius’ head snapped up to see James sitting on the couch holding a sleeping Harry.
“Sure, mate, didn’t know that you liked flowers. I’ve come to woo you off of your feet.”
James grinned, clearly pleased to see that his best friend’s sense of humor seemed to be returning. He was as worried as you were about Sirius.
“Lily might be a touch offended but I won’t mind. Uh just so you know, Y/n is gone.”
Sirius dropped the roses as eyes widened. Had he heard James right? What kind of “gone” was his friend talking about. Had you gone out with Lily or did you leave his ass?
“James...where is she?”
James gently laid Harry down before standing up.
“Y/n and Remus’ mother died. She and Remus left the day before yesterday to go help their father.”
“An..nd Demelza?”
Sirius choked out. He knew the crazy in his mind was going into overdrive and there was no stopping it. What if he had lost the two of you? There was no way that Sirius would be able to go forward without his wife and child.
James’ tone softened.
“With her mother. Sirius, she didn’t leave you. We can go catch up with them tomorrow. I told Y/n that I would let you know. Now go get some rest and tomorrow you can go fix everything.”
