The teacher never expected Farmer to do such a thing, though she is grateful for their help. Funny enough, when Farmer opened up to Emily about their constant nightly fights at the fight club, Emily felt proud of him. Pride because while they are strong, they treat those around them with kindness and patience. A bright aura radiates from them, and the new information about Emily's friend wouldn't make her change her attitude towards them for the worse somehow.

Maru hasn't heard much about these illegal fights in Zuzu City, but the title "Destroyer" speaks for itself. And Farmer has quite an interesting past, and she wouldn't mind hearing about it. The young inventor just hopes that all those titles and honours don't interfere in any way with her friend/spouse's job as a farmer, which they enjoy.

To Abigail, Farmer has become the most brutal and badass person on the planet. She knows about these fights! (Mostly just a gossip, not the actual fights). And the fact that it was Farmer who was the rumoured champion of underground fights made the purple-haired girl ecstatic. Man, it's a shame she can't brag to others about her friend/lover, as she doesn't want to get Farmer in trouble with the law.

It's just that they really do look very unthreatening, so this information was a bit of a shock to her. This explains the fact that Farmer so easily knocked out Leah's ex when she and Farmer were on a date (even though Kel has always been weak). It is impossible not to fall in love with Farmer.

Wow, Alesia didn't expect that the newest Guild member in Stardew Valley had entire titles in fist fighting behind them. Especially from someone she considered a pacifist and non-confrontational person. Strange why it wasn't listed anywhere on their report for them. While it's not "official" training on an adventurer, everyone's file should list all of their merits.

Following on from the previous post, I wrote what I think each of the Main 10 would do in this au!

She is probably one of Arlington's most renowned doctor/botanists. She loves her work and spends a lot of time in her greenhouse and is used to being ignored by society.

Her family insisted that she accept the Queen's idea to nominate her, she gave in to make them happy although she did not expect much.

She was so nervous and shy at first that she didn't seem to be interested at all, so everyone tried to match Scholar with someone else.

When she and Scholar finally had a chance to interact, they both found understanding and acceptance in each other like never before in their lives.

She has conflicting feelings about Scholar being Lady Whistledown, it seems cruel to spread rumours, but she knows they are not bad people and have meant well from the beginning.

Tadashi:

His family's scandal damaged his reputation and left him in a difficult situation, but being the Queen's protégé has its advantages.

He's not too worried about getting married, but the Queen decided to nominate him so he accepted it as an assignment.

Tadashi: "I have struggled in vain against my good judgement, my own expectations and will, I can't take it anymore. I love you, I cannot live without you. Despite the inferiority of your birth and the scandal surrounding your circumstances." Scholar: "Oh, me too- Wait, against your good judgment?"

Scholar had to explain to their father that they were not being bullied into marriage, Tadashi just has a strange way of courting.

Lady Whistledown helped clean up his reputation after the scandal, he likes knowing that Scholar genuinely cares about him. He has never paid much attention to society gossip anyway, he just hopes Scholar is safe.

Raquel:

She was not willing to marry, it was her parents who made the decision.

She never treated Scholar badly despite initial attempts to match them up, she knew it wasn't their fault.

She began to grow fond of Scholar when they proved to be quite adventurous and fun, but her heart was smitten when Scholar kicked her butt in a shooting competition.

At one point Scholar thought there was really no interest on her part and accepted the courtship of others, Rachel burst into their home at dawn the next day to ask their father for they hand in marriage.

She thinks having Lady Whistledown as a wife is fucking sexy and cool, if she could she'd brag about it, but she will protect Scholar's secret with her life.

Alistair:

He did not expect to be a candidate for the Diamond of the Season, after all, he only rubs shoulders with society because of the inheritance he received from a distant aunt.

He felt he was not a good match for them, after all, his family was still on a slightly higher scale than his own.

His younger brothers were a crucial part of the courtship, they plotted and even forged letters to motivate Scholar and him to meet and fall in love.

His whole family is delighted with Scholar and his father, they treat them as part of their family and often meet at their country house.

He is more concerned about Scholar being caught than the issue of them being Lady Whistledown itself.

Ellie:

As a natural inventor, Ellie knew what it was like to be seen as an outsider and to be constantly questioned by society, so she did not hesitate to extend a helping hand to Scholar from the start.

Neither she nor her family had any urgency for a marriage, but the Queen thought that marriage might appease her mischievous personality.

The moment she discovered that Scholar matched her freak Arlington trembled.

Since their marriage she calls Scholar her muse and tries to name all her inventions after them.

She finds all the logistics behind the gossip and publishing network that Scholar created interesting. She is proud of her spouse's work and will do anything to help them protect and evolve their business.

Axel:

The most renowned musician of the moment in society, hundreds of bachelors line up every season hoping to be the lucky one to become his spouse.

He was definitely not willing to marry, it was all nonsense orchestrated by his benefactors and patrons.

He had a first engagement that ended badly and became wary of romance, he tried to put some distance between them at first, but Scholar was simply too charming.

Right when everyone was about to dismiss the idea, Axel rode dramatically across Arlington on horseback to find Scholar and ask them to marry him.

He was initially conflicted about Scholar being Lady Whistledown, but remembered that Scholar never wrote anything scandalous and cruel about him unlike the mainstream press (he was secretly always a fan of Lady Whistledown because he likes gossip and mayhem).

Karolina:

As the perfect daughter of one of Arlington's oldest families, she and the entire society had very high expectations about who she marries.

‘Of all the beauties and talents of the season, the diamond had to be YOU? Something must be clouding the Queen's judgement’.

“If I loved you less, I could talk about it more”.

Not ONE SINGLE SOUL thought they were really going to get married, the day the church announced it, everyone's jaws dropped.

Scholar swore in front of their father that they would never marry Karolina because she was a heartless person, their father reminds them every time he wants to make fun of them.

She knows talent when she sees it, admires Scholar's brilliant mind and the grace with which they have managed their secret business. Lady Whistledown's publications have become even more irreverent and sarcastic since their marriage.

Neha:

She doesn't have much experience in society as her family is quite new, she became popular as a designer and works with Arlington's most famous dressmakers.

Rather than looking to marry for love, Neha was looking for someone she could count on to deal with the responsibilities of work and family.

She was quite cold at first because she thought Scholar would not understand her due to the difference in their conditions and status, but the moment she saw how hardworking Scholar is she slowly let her guard down.

She feared that Scholar would not like her family, as they are very important to her and Scholar felt the same way, however, the moment the families were reunited it was all laughter and joy.

As someone who started her business from scratch, Neha admires and respects Scholar's career as Lady Whistledown. The two help each other to innovate and expand their businesses.

Tegan:

Despite being from one of Arlington's most prominent families, Tegan always let the spotlight of society fall on his parents and sister.

His parents put pressure on him to marry, he didn't even know the Queen well enough to be nominated.

He felt sorry for Scholar because he knew they both preferred to be invisible and watch from a distance during the seasons.

Scholar became his refuge, they both chose a small wedding and spend the whole day at home after their marriage.

When he found out that Scholar was Lady Whistledown he was surprised, the person he loved was much more amazing and brave than he had imagined, he definitely had to help them continue their dream.

Tyler:

His family has been involved in the arts for generations and the Queen holds them in high esteem, which is why she chose Tyler as a candidate despite considering him a little… unconventional.

The situation made him incredibly nervous by putting him in the public eye, as if the family reputation he had to maintain was not enough.

He always dreamed of a dramatic and epic love story, but the moment he saw Scholar he couldn't help but gravitate towards them without knowing it.

Scholar becomes one of their greatest sources of motivation, they both feel free and supported by being together, so much so that he no longer worry about what society says about him.

He always loved Lady Whistledown, laughing out loud at the writer's witticisms. Since their marriage the publications became even more humorous beyond sarcasm, sometimes accompanied by small illustrations by an unidentifiable author.

When the rest of the Diamond Clan figures out who is the child's father, they do get kind of concerned. Because babies can be messy and gross, and it didn't seem like a good match for Melli, who looks like he spends hours doing his hair and makeup to look perfect but don't press you on it because Melli is the one you love.

Now you do believe that Melli wants this, but you can't say that you aren't worried. And Melli notices your concern and doesn't blame you. Having a family is a completely new concept to him as well, but he does reassure you that he'll do and be his best, and he won't let you down.

Surprisingly I think Melli would be a good father. Yes, he would make some mistakes here and there, but his fellow clan members can see something different in his passionate drive to be a good father for his child and an even better spouse for his S/O.

If it wasn't for his own kid, I firmly believe Melli wouldn't like babies. Until he held his first child in his arms, he genuinely didn't understand why people thought babies were cute. Summer’s Job never been dreamy or appealing you always preferred to stay home and play games or hangout with your friends.

You were doing the same summer job from your high school’s years throughout your UNI years, this year was the last year where you could work at the same gas station you usually spent your summer’s at. You were quite happy about this news because your work there wasn’t really enjoyable to say the least.

You were working as car washer.

The staff was limited to you and Gladys. Gladys was an Australian grandma’ with an heavy accent and a loud voice.

You used to complain about the underpaid job and understaff issue to her each year , but even if she tried her best to pay you more each year, the problem of understaff was remaining.

Plus you had the marvelous advantage , note the irony, to be a woman. So of course you had some guy every now and then asking you for some porn kink including cars and water to you.

He might just be a father-in-law to this individual yet. -"So, prove it then."- He steps back, not pleased with just talking the talk, wanting the walk be walked too, tilting his head, admiring the sight of his daughter's significant other examining the blade curiously, surrounded by flower decorations, champagne, dressing mirrors and measuring tape. Did they even know that she won't be taking their surname? The creature will become a Silver instead? That is, if they prove themselves adequate --- and prove themselves they would too. Only reason Terry was even giving them this chance was because he knew his precious love found this buffoon charming and if she found them charming, Terry would find them charming for her sake as well. More Kure Clan Family Hcs

- Raian and Karla are close in the sense that she's currently the closest to his level so they spar a lot when she's not busy w/school and have bonded over the years.

- Fusui tutors Karla in her weaker studies.

- Both Fusui and Raian are excused from the family duty of having strong children. Fusui was initially freaked about it but given her strength levels, it was decided that it's optional for her since she won't be able to pass on a massive amount of Removal ability. Raian was pressured until he nearly killed twelve of his cousins and almost beat the potential bride to death, so he's excused until further notice. (The bride has made a full recovery, and ironically thanks to Raian, realized she wants someone who is at her strength level and not so far above it, and left in favor of fighting various people around the glob in the hopes of finding her future spouse).

- Karla still has this pressure piled on her, so she equates finding someone very strong mildly attractive with needing to have babies with them. Her true feelings about Ohma are actually pretty neutral beyond 'he's tall and has nice hair' until he lives in the Kure village. If not for the obsession, she'd consider him kind of like a friendlier version of Hollis.

- Reiichi likes hanging out with Karla more than with Fusui. Karla is more willing to go along w/his vanity, while Fusui will playfully insult him (he gets very offended).

- Hollis is usually the one put on 'babysit Raian' duty. He deeply regrets ever agreeing to it because they never send anyone else nowadays.

- Fusui likes sniping more than most other methods of killing, but she'll never say no to building long and ridiculously dramatic booby traps.

- When Raian feels like being nice, he'll call Fusui and ask her to make one of those where the ending involves him dropping in on the victims and slaughtering them.

- They're all supportive of each other in very dysfunctional ways. It's almost sweet if not for all the blood and violence involved.

- Fusui always bets against Raian if he's ever in a non-sparring match.

- Hollis used to stage drills for the younger Kure kids by going to a local mall, renting out for a day and banning all civilians, and then telling the children to play 'hide and defenestrate' or 'chaos tag with weaponry'.

- Karla's birthday and holiday gifts to everyone are always personalized. She does her best to keep up with their hobbies, interests, needs, wants, and preferences. Her wrapping skills are pretty sloppy though, so she has to ask for help with making it look nice.

- Reiichi started a list of gifts they can get Raian that the entire Kure clan tries to add onto. It's insanely limited so their usual gifts are ten-v-one fights or kidnapping various fighters and bringing them to Raian in the hopes that he'll have fun fighting them.

- Fusui is usually the one asked to organize family events. She's much more efficient than anyone else. If it's not her, it's Hollis and Reiichi in a team because Hollis is only good at just putting things in their places, not thinking about where to put them, and Reiichi gets distracted too easily if no one keeps him on track.

- Lots of waiting lists on who gets to use the sparring room/borrow which weapons from the family armory.

- Everyone even remotely close to her wanted to attend Karla's high school graduation, so the list was narrowed down to parents, grand parents, Erioh and his wife, Fusui because Karla asked her to be there to keep everyone in check, and whoever was willing to defeat the other potential attendees in combat. Raian beats almost everyone else and shows up with a very awful banner reading 'Nice job, Karla! Now slaughter them all!'

- She would be more upset if Fusui hadn't been holding the other side of the banner with a little thumbs-up and if the reactions of her classmates weren't quite so funny.

- Family photo album of everyone's first kills, marriages, exciting matches, and times they've achieved their peak Removal and pushed the limits.

- Everyone under the age of 18 or capable of activating the Removal past 90% gets a little sticker each time they improve.

the inevitable dilemma happens: it’s on their mask, on them, on you. Masked slashers reactions when things get a little messy.

on his mask and clothes? eh, it happens.

while he does seem to be neater compared to the other slashers he’s not going to fuss over it too much.

his “work attire” is almost completely black anyways so it’s hardly noticable. on his regular clothes however he might get a little peeved if it keeps happening.

meaning: next time he’s going to hold you by the chin (or by the neck, if you’re into that) so you don’t get too excited.

on himself? he’s the one calling the shots here so he’s aware of it. doesn’t put too much thought into it and cleans up afterwards.

on you, however, he’s really into it.

the first time it happens he immediately realizes that he actually prefers you to look like you had just come out of a particularly steamy makeout session. (especially if he has other victims around.)

rating: 8/10. hot. nothing like matching pairs of smudged lip stains to let everybody know who you belong to.

on his mask? cute. if he’s in a playful mood he’ll even let you get more on there but only because he has a twisted sense of humour. imagine he’s out and about, slaughtering people in all his bloody glory - but with little kiss marks on his otherwise polished mask. he can be lovable too, see?

don’t expect him to keep it on there for long though. he’s a very well-kept man. on his clothes he’ll allow it if it’s accidental. but like asa, he won’t hesitate to hold you in place if it keeps happening.

if he happens to bring you to his workplace he’s a little less tolerant.

loves basking in your affections in private, but he’s just more strict around his cohorts. takes pride in dressing well and you, being the trophy spouse, would no doubt be decked out in designer and looking your best too. stain-free.

unless of course, an impromptu makeout session in his office occurs he might allow it. if it was your doing, he’ll rough you up at home afterwards.

loves loves getting kisses. probably won’t notice it on his mask at first since he normally doesn’t like looking at himself. once he notices he’ll immediatelly get butterflies in his stomach. this man is just so weak for you, even remembering you kissing him gets him all warm and fuzzy.

he’ll admire it for a while before reluctantly wiping it off. he might not remember to wipe it off if there are intruders around. your safety is his first priority, after all.

if you happen to be at the stage where he’s comfortable kissing you unmasked he’ll get visibly flustered seeing you with your lipstick smudged.

immediately feels guilty for having dirty thoughts. what would his mother say?

like Bubba, he’ll tidy you up afterwards. he’s less confident in his makeup skills but he’s not going to leave you looking like that, especially when his mind is going to all sorts of unholy places.

hums appreciatively if you happen to smooch him all over after a long day. it might take him a while to notice the lipstick all over his face. luda mae might have to teasingly point it out to him - prompting a hurried exit. THE leatherface? embarrassed? you must be seeing things.

he has it set in his mind that he needs to be the intimidating chainsaw-wielding man that protects his family so as much as he loves you, he’s likely not going to keep your kisses on his face for long.

tommy absolutely adores you though, so expect him to nudge your head slightly with his as an indication to start covering him in kisses again.

if he sees you in a messy state with your lipstick smudged, the realization will hit him hard. he’ll be in awe. he made you like that. you allowed him to - and enjoyed it. once he snaps out of his daze he’s quick to escalate things.

afterwards this man is going to pamper you to the max. he’ll clean you up and cuddle you for as long as you let him.

rating: 100/10. loves the affection but gets shy around others. doesn’t ogle the marks, but seeing it on you gets his gears going.

Vincent Sinclair

very hesitant to let you anywhere near his face at first. eventually he’ll realize you’re trying to kiss him and not forcibly unmask him to pick at his appearance. (oh, dear trauma...)

while it takes him a long time to even allow it, and even longer with his mask off, he savours every bit of affection like it’s the last time.

on his mask he’ll notice right away and be blushy about it. he would keep it on for a while but would wipe it off eventually. he’s very particular about the upkeep of his mask since he considers it his actual face, after all.

on his actual face, he’d be more focused on the feeling of your lips on him more than anything else. feel free to go south if you want to hear him whine. he gets excited quickly.

he’d be super overwhelmed if you covered his face with kisses! and maybe a tad bit emotional. you love him this much? all of him? is this real? are you real? he isn’t dreaming?

doesn’t notice the lipstick until much later on and gets super embarrassed about it. might freak out about it secretly in the bathroom. if you happen to leave marks on him further down, he’ll be way into it.

on you, he’s going to try and fix it up afterwards. has his hand always been this shaky? don’t give him that look! excessive blushing.

A bomb could go off outside his window and he wouldn’t even realise until the next morning

"Dupain-Cheng. We need to talk."

Marinette stopped breathing, sinking deeper under the desk. 

Chloe groaned and took a few steps away. "Don't make me get down there and drag you out. And next time, make sure you aren't hiding right in front of a mirror. Be thankful I didn't out you to Adrien."

Marinette glared at her reflection peeking out from a corner of the mostly covered mirror she’d failed to notice. 

"I suppose you want my gratitude for your generosity?" she huffed, climbing out of her hiding spot to face her old nemesis.

"I’ll do without, but let’s make one thing clear—I did it for Adrien, not you."

"Oh really? I fail to see how this benefits him since, you know, he wanted to find me."

Chloe smirked and looked Kagami’s way. Marinette followed her gaze, only now noticing how intently Kagami was watching her. 

"So, this is her?"

"Unfortunately."

Matching smirks on their lips, Kagami’s eyes held restrained curiosity. Chloe’s? Disbelief. 

Marinette could feel the weight of their judgement increase with each passing second. She scoffed. This crap was tiring to deal with back in the lycée. Now it wasn’t even worth the fight. "Listen, I doubt either of you want me to come in and mess up whatever thing you three have going on, so how about you tell Adrien you mistook me for someone else, the waitress he spoke to was not Marinette Dupain-Cheng, and we all walk our separate ways?"

Kagami folded her arms over her chest, arching an eyebrow. "What about Adrien?"

"What about him?"

"He’s your soulmate."

"He’s engaged to you."

"Did you hear anything we said here?"

"Didn’t have much of a choice."

"Then, you’re aware that we’re faking it. There is nothing but friendship between us."

"So I’ve heard."

"And you still want to walk away?"

"Yes."

"Why?"

"She’s always been weird," Chloe snipped. "Adrien deserves better."

Marinette scoffed. "No one deserves a soulmate who humiliates them in front of the whole country."

"You can’t really pick your soulmate, you know," Kagami said. 

"But I can walk away from one who respects neither me nor our bond. Fake or not, he chose to be with you. I’m not going to interfere. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to get back work." 

Kagami grabbed Marinette’s hand before she could take a step. "You don’t understand. It’s not something he’s doing because he doesn’t respect or want you. Adrien’s practically saving my life with this, risking everything he ever wanted to do so."

Marinette almost laughed. "How is fake dating saving your life, Mlle Tsurugi? Fake dating is for fiction, a good book for a lonely evening or a movie to laugh with friends about. In the real world, in our modern society, it's irrelevant. And especially for someone as powerful and influential as you. You don't need to fake date. You can just say a word and all your problems will float away."

Kagami’s grip on Marinette’s hand tightened as she seethed through her teeth. "You have no idea what you’re talking about."

"Oh, don’t I? I’ve spent enough years in the same class with Chloe to see how people in your circle solve their problems."

"You shouldn’t put everyone in the same basket." Chloe stepped in, wrapping her arm around Kagami’s shoulder. She leaned closer to Kagami, their cheeks starting to glow at the contact, Kagami’s with a bee mark, Chloe’s with a dragon. 

To say Marinette was surprised was an understatement. 

"Just because we live in different circles doesn’t mean our lives are easy or that our problems always go away with a snap of our fingers," Chloe continued. "If you want to think of me like that, fine. Whatever. But not Adrien and certainly not Kagami." 

"I still fail to see the reason why someone would need to fake date." 

Before Chloe could start talking, Kagami cut her off with a wave of her hand. "Marinette, would you mind hearing me out? If you still want to walk away after what I have to tell you, neither of us will stop you."

Perhaps, this was the quickest way to get this over with. Maybe, she was curious herself as to what was going on between the three of them. Whatever it was, Marinette pulled up a chair, sat down and waited.

Kagami settled on a couch while Chloe leaned on its arm. "I was born and raised in Japan in a very conservative family where traditions were the law and whoever broke them was excommunicated forever. When I was fifteen, my mother and I moved to France, and I got to know the more liberal approach to life the French follow. I met Adrien through our parents’ business dealings. We became friends, and for the first time ever, someone could understand me, the life I was living, and the feelings I was suppressing. He wasn’t in any better of a situation at the time, but at least I was allowed to attend a private school. Adrien was kept locked inside his mansion. Later, I met Chloe and discovered the soulmate bond we shared. I was happy for the first time in my life. That is until my mother decided I had to marry one of her business partners’ sons for the sake of the family’s interests."

"A much older male," Chloe scoffed, scratching her nose. "Disgusting."

"Fifteen years older," Kagami confirmed. "And he lives in Japan which meant I would be forced to move back and lose not only my friends but also my soulmate. I would be expected to be an obedient, silent wife for the rest of my life, confined to looking after the house and birthing as many children as my husband wished."

"Ridiculous!" Chloe huffed. "Utterly ridiculous."

Kagami patted Chloe’s hand in a comforting gesture. "Perhaps if I’d never moved to France I would have gone along with her plans without complaining. However, after I had a taste of freedom and saw how happy I can be, I knew I couldn’t give up all of this. Give up Adrien and Chloe. Give up my dreams for the future. So, I panicked and said I was already secretly dating someone and didn’t tell her only because I wanted to make sure it was serious. Mother would’ve never agreed to let me stay if that person wasn’t from her list of approved potential spouses. A list made up of very influential and wealthy people. Adrien was one of them."

"He’s on the list of every Parisian mother." Chloe huffed. "Sucks to be him."

"I couldn’t say Chloe’s name," Kagami continued. "Mother isn't against same-sex relationships, but she considers them just ‘practice’ for the ‘real ones’ because, apparently,  I need a man as a life partner."

"As I said, ridiculous."

"So, I said Adrien’s name, then begged him to play along. We never thought it would get out of our circle. We even developed a plan for how to get me out unscathed and free. Adrien and I were supposed to only play a couple until my birthday in November when I became a legal adult by Japanese law. When that happened, I started transferring my funds to accounts my mother had no access to so I could walk away freely. But that takes time, and two weeks ago she found out and demanded an explanation for the transactions. She threatened to send me back to Japan immediately if she didn’t approve of what I had in mind. The transfers weren’t done yet and she had enough influence to stop it.

"I freaked out again and said Adrien and I were getting married, so I was gathering my personal funds into my own account that I planned to join with my husband’s after the wedding. I told her we were waiting for a special occasion to announce the engagement. She wasn’t buying it. She gave me a week to prove my words. She put a hold on all the transfers until then. It was Adrien who suggested we take it to the media. That way, she wouldn't doubt us, and she’d be somewhat pressured to let me stay in France, at least for the time being. Once the article was out, my mother released the funds, and as of last night, I’m a free woman.

"No one was ever going to announce an engagement. My things are being packed as we speak while my mother and I are out of the house. I won’t be going home with her. I’m moving in with Chloe, and, thanks to Adrien, I’m not doing so without a penny to my name. Adrien never meant to hurt you. He never looked any other woman's way. All he wanted was to help a friend." 

There wasn’t much Marinette could do but remain frozen in her seat, stunned at Kagami’s words. Her defences down, she hated to admit that everything Kagami had said made sense. There was a reason. A reason good enough to justify this whole thing. She couldn't hold this against Adrien. Heck, if any of Marinette’s friends were in Kagami’s shoes, she’d be fake proposing to them too. So, if everything that Kagami had told her was true, then…

"Marinette," Kagami spoke more gently, watching her with a lot less hostility. "For as long as I’ve known Adrien, every summer, every vacation he got, he was travelling to Milan, attending every fashion show and just wandering the streets in hopes of finding you. He painted over and publicly revealed his soulmate mark only because he’s desperate at this point. His father’s been pressuring him to date for publicity for years. He gave him a break when he thought we were a couple, but that ends tonight. And let me tell you, Gabriel Agreste is not the person to care for Adrien’s feelings and desires. He’ll make his life a living hell if Adrien continues to refuse to comply. Please, Marinette. Give him a chance. He deserves it."

"I’m giving him your number as a Christmas present tomorrow," Chloe spoke up. "You have until then to think about it. Let’s go, Kagami. It’s time to set Adrien free and show the world who your soulmate truly is."

"Right." Kagami stood up, giving Marinette one last glance. "The choice is yours, but you’d be a fool to walk away from a man like him. They don’t come as kind, loyal and loving as he is these days."

The door behind the pair closed, leaving only the sound of Marinette’s heart echoing in her ears. She could hardly move. If everything she’d just learned was true, she owed Adrien an apology and, if he wanted one, she owed him a chance. Because while she would definitely want a chance with the man Kagami had just described, she had to wonder if she deserved one at all. 

With a sigh, she stood up and headed back towards the kitchen. 

Later. She’d find him later. First, she had a job to finish and sweets to serve. The rest would have to wait. They’d waited for years. What would be another few hours?
