I don't understand the rivalry between one piece and naruto fans. Watching one piece is about enjoying the adventure, friendship and comedy. Watching naruto is about emotional attachment to the characters and getting ur mental health completely DESTROYED

#it's so clear #i just wanted to enjoy a funky ninja show #when i first watched narutos childhood i lost my appetite. fun times #anyway theres a bloodbath between op and naruto fans and ongoing discourse abt which is the best of the big 3 #now now im not even mentioning bleach cz no offense to anyone i just didnt vibe with that show #bleach was my first attempt at the big 3 actually #i almost watched like 15/20 epis and it took me a lot of Patience to sit through it #fr i just sat through it #it felt so repetitive boring and annoying #then i moved on to naruto and the rest is history #and by history i mean 143 episodes of Shippuden 1 tumblr blog where i demonstrate signs of mental illness and 6 yrs of break from anime #one piece #cheryl watching one piece for the very first time

I could play one of the most beautiful well crafted video games on the planet and it will never be as appealing to me as one that kind of sucks shit but has soooo much potential

#merlin.txt #just finished cyberpunk #i feel like they could have done sooo much more with the concepts they had #the game showed us a bit of everything in the world but i dont think they explored any one topic enough #and they pulled a ton of punches. the ending did not feel like this big 'grab your allies and fuck the corpos' thing it shouldve been #it was mostly just tying up johnnys loose end. one big loop. which i fuck with; but it wasnt rlly anticapitalist at all in that sense #i have a bunch of other thoughts on johnny but ill save it #but god. the beginning (act 1 and the first bits of act 2) where just soooo fucking good #and it rlly felt like it was going to gear up into this huge thing instead of just being one last hurrah for rogue and johnny #AUUUGHH theres just So Much Potential. goddamn #imo i think the major thing is that at some point it stopped being v's story. it was everyone elses #he has Very little agency. which is interesting but man this guy deserves better #when it comes down to it the game Is really shallow. whenever there is any sincerity in themes its very centrist #the fact is you dont rlly meet many characters in game who are Truly working to take down corps except for johnny and he doesnt rlly count #and if there Are its usually played for irony and laughs (looking at kerry) or theyre flat out kind of awful.#judys story is probably the best of the companions bc shes actively trying to help sex workers and its played very positively #i also think two of the main themes (letting go of the past; what it means to die) are Majorly helped by some incredible emotional beats #and w/o some just Really Really good scenes and good repetition of lines and motifs its very tropey.#ok i wasnt going to write a full thing. but let me be clear: i fucking loved this game. i would not be writing so much if i did not love it #the sun ending was Still soooo vindicating. v is still kicking and that's all that matters to me #(it helps that v is a Great protag like one of the Best voiced rpg protags next to hawke da2)#(which is kind of a funny comparison since i think both protags suffer from a lack of agency)#ok im done now

Ggrrr I wish disenchantment was better. I binged it all because I'm sick somebody talk to me about this.

#the groening show on netflix #it had so much potential #and i did enjoy it!!! plenty of the characters were awesome #but it tried to be too big. wanted to incorporate too much. i didn't like beans magic. it got really repetitive #it felt like a lot of the movement between “lands” was super unnecessary. and took up a lot of time that could have been used in narrative #development #and you know the most fucked up part is that there was a Canon wlw couple that was end game AND I DIDNT EVEN LIKE THEM TOGETHERRR #and the last seasons egregious hyperfocus on love specifically romantic love like #it was cringe im sorry!!! not great writing #im glad beans relationship w her dad got better but i didnt like how instantanious it felt #also obv. i hate the whole thing with prince derek and his pixie gf. ew. really weird #but there was so much good and it couldve been great #i still enjoyed it but it fell short in so many ways #HOW DO YOU HAVE A QUEER GIRL COUPLE THAT I DONT LIKE!!! ME!!! QUEER GIRL NUMBER 1!!!!!!#i like EVERY WLW SHIP #and mora x bean had potential but like #it seemed a lot of the time liek they didnt even really like eachother. they aggravated tf out of eachother and not in like a hehe gay ppl #who bicker type of way. it was very much lesbian couple written by straight man feeling. idk if thats true but its the vibe i got #to the end im sad elfo never really actionably got over his weird thing about bean. he just said he did #and him and miri/mop girl. ehhhhh #i like her but she should have had a more gradual introduction into the main cast because she really feels like an after thought #glad zog moved to the woods that seemed like the right move #bean kinda handing the kingdom off to the elves kinda felt like a cop out after thought #like she got all weird about this is their kingdom we stole it from them and then only rwally gave it up after she got something that she #wanted more #please let me remake this show!!!!!!!!#also steam land!!! i like the concept but the execution and the travellimg back and forth between the two #the biggest issue this show suffered with though was repetition.#animation was fun. i enjoyed the use of 3d especially in later seasons #a lot of the jokes were funny but a lot just fell short.

I got back to using my switch, and I’ve been trying to clear all (regular) events for Damien (my dumb spicy red baby lol) in Monster Camp and I want to change things up before I get burnt out

Random fun facts: of the OGs playable characters, I usually go with Brian. Of the DLC characters, I really like Sawyer (I love their design). I also like Abdu and Mamimi.

I want to use Doug and Susanne more when I get focus more on Aaravi, Joy, and Dahlia.

So I got tickled dfghjhgfghj never give up from your dreams I guess SDFGHJ. Okay okay, lemme give you some context: just like the universe intended when it gave me all the opportunities to be a AGENT OF CHAOS and a proud GREMLIN I was hiding away my friend’s car key and using his distraction as he looked for his keys to hide eve more of his stuff (friendship <3) but the thing is, a few months ago, that human discovered that I was ticklish so rip me and my entire bloodline I guess because he keeps looking for opportunities to, ya know, ATTACK ME with one or two pokes but until that point he never took it farther than that. So. He already knew where this was going, you already know where this is going, I somehow DIDN’T HAVE A SINGLE IDEA of where this was going because the moment he realized that my overalls had pockets perfect for hiding stuff and I was refusing to take my hand out of one of them he began tickling my sides until I - in my dying breath, my last moments, with the last drop of coordination in my body - decided to give him his keys back so FGHJKJHGGHJK

I lasted like 10 seconds like COME ON KANENE PULL IT TOGETHER MAH GURL

Anyways I also discovered that I actually have TWO responses to being unfairly attacked with wiggly fingers and it’s pretending that nothing is happening while gradually getting more and more giggly and to try to become a ball which yeah it’s just as unsuccessful as fics describes so. there’s that.

#Also while being tickled I got like one (1) glimpse of my friends watching me being tickled w smiles on their faces so #insta kill kanene day as it seems #tbh I really doubt I am that ticklish and for a long while I got insecure w my tickle laugh because I felt like I was exaggerating #or something like that #but that was the moments I realized that it doesn't matter!! at all!! probably 90% of my laughing was because of the scare-#-and because I was giddy as hell but !!! whatever!!! it is still laughter!!! I am still having fun!! REACTING!! trick to fun dialogue is just to make it a little hard to understand. maybe thats a cheap trick but i dont care

#or not even that hard necessarily just like it takes like 2 listens. it takes attention #and what 'harder' is is subjective depends on the type of dialogue you hear a lot and your vocabulary level #watching the nevers right #and im watching this scene and theres this character who exactly hits this spot for me #like 5........wait 5 years ago is not as far as i think it is.........7 years ago (ugh) i woudlnt have understood what she was saying #like i'd know all the words separately but iwouldnt have understood what she was saying at all #but rn im like oooh this is the exact balance between obscuring your meaning and substance #i think oftne in my writing i obscure more than there is substance #there usually /is/. /some/ substance #theres usually substance. just theres more complication than there is substance. here the balance is better #bc someone needs to say these words hfkghgj #the other day while reading scripts im making myself rewrite i was like 'i coudltn do this in a fic. iwouldnt get away with this'#lines that work in a script (bc they'll be acted) fall flat in fic bc we dont have the luxury (or limitation) of actors #but it really made me think abt like..what you need to do in a script for television vs in a fic based on that television you knwo what i #mean? different things you need to work for. WE need to work for that the characters sound like Them. that we can Hear them #tv gets that almost free. the words will be in the right voice in the right body that gets you like 60-70% of the way #less sometimes depending on the specificity of the character&circumstances i was mostly thinking abt the doctor who maybe has more leeway #and tv has the limitations of 1) needs to be sayable. but also 2) needs to be flatter i think #you cant put 5 meanings in every line bc theres plot that needs to keep going and sentences need to stay short #so you get a lot of character work for free i think but in return you need to rein yourself in in that way #anyway idk these observations were just based on like me rewriting the 14 specials and going 'this line fucking sucks in fic' fhgkjhgkjgh #not that it was a bad line! just. boring .meaningless. doesnt add. filler noise. i dont have TIME for that in fic. i lose people #idc if i lose readers i dont know abt that but i lose myself honestly very short attention span keep every word interesting #scripts are fluffy and repetitious. repetitive. but repetitious sounds funner #anyway its fun trying to match that tv need with my own lines that i add in #not too obscure. needs to be sayable. but with my own 'half the spices cabinet in my single cup of hot choccy' approach to writing #(and hot choccy)

#also really hope louis’ team has something up their sleeves to get fan excitement up for the release week because boy is this weak and they #really should do better to ramp it up #post tiktoks with tiny snippets of the songs and having the fans guess what song it is for example #or something to boost fan engagement because ive been through many impending album releases in this fandom and this is not it #the excitement is quite mild #they did a big push for bigger than me and a lot of it seemed to me to be for promo rather than for the single #there was scarcely anything new for out of my system in the sense that the questions are still the same as they were for btm #they are circulating the same old and it’s not interesting for many people to watch and then they manage to sneak in babygate always and in #quite ridiculous senses like him listening the album first and stuff and while i still think there’s a reason for this (and i’ve spoken #about what i think may be happening with that and with the reasons for it before so i’ll not repeat myself)#but it just alienates more and more people and with the promo being repetitive there’s nothing much to outweight it for many people #and unfortunately since louis himself is saying he does not care for charts the fans are not very motivated to stream and do listening #parties as they used to be when getting to number 1 was encouraged and by the boys and desirable #plus imho they messed up the tour announcement and sale which shouldve come after the album comes out because people will know what they’re #buying tickets for #but anyway i wonder whether there’s something up still with sabotage of louis and radios not playing him and stuff #because despite the emphasis on him being free and in control there are so many old patterns recurring that it’s incongruent #im really excited for the album and the music and the direction louis is going to take artistically and creatively #but some things about his promo still seem very off #especially knowing what an astute businessman he is and just how deep an understanding he has #of his fanbase as well as the GP and marketing #also i really do think it’s purposeful they’re building on chicago and danielle associations and ramping up babygate and that E is out #for good

getting real tired of turning in hw for counterpoint class where i have to compose something that sounds nice and follows proper voice leading, only to be told that what i wrote is wrong and bad because of some arbitrary rule that was never mentioned until now.

#sasha speaks #'you can't use a sequence here.' okay why not. i though we loved sequences here.#'well you can't write a sequence in such a short exercise' the book only gives us three measures to work with man #i wrote three repetitions of the motif that counts as a sequence even if there's only a couple of measures. c'mon.#sorry i'm treating the exercises like real music?#'well you can't write a sequence in the bass cause it's supposed to be used in the melody' Show Me Where In The Textbook It Says This #i've listened to plenty of baroque music they have sequences in the bass...#'it's because your line isn't independent enough from the melody' this is 4:1 counterpoint with given figured bass.#how am i possibly supposed to write a counterpointing line that is both sufficiently 'independent' AND 'following the harmony'.#if you wanted total independence of lines then it'd sound like shit! sorry!#the bass counterpoint i'm gonna write is gonna HAVE to be related to the melody! necessarily!!#i'm just so. rrgh #i've had this issue with this prof before but it's kind of extra frustrating now #cause i feel like i'm getting dinged points for not following rules i was never fucking told about #and that contradict things i've already learned.

actually re: Neverafter but just re-read the rewrite I did of Little Red Riding Hood for my Fairy Tales class and i was a fucking genius for it

#shhh sharkie #give me 1 like and i’ll post it here and make an actual AO3 account just to post it #i might edit it a tad but just like some grammar and sentence structure #it’s about the cyclical nature of fairy tales and stories in general and also about loss of innocence throughout a life time #and i think i did a fucking bang up job of the oral fairy tale structure of repetition and rule of threes and such #like this story is made to be read out loud #honestly i know people do podfics on AO3 too so if i post it and the story gets x amount of hits or kudos ill record myself reading it #it’s literally one of my writing pieces that i’m the most proud of #still mad it only got an honorary mention in my college’s semesterly writing publication #idr what those were called but basically we had mandatory writing classes and each semester you could submit anything you wrote for those #writing journal? maybe? idk. anyway.#my professor was like ‘edit the actual essay part a bit but this is a very strong contender for an award’#and then i got like. listed in the honorary mentions. bullshit.#most of the writing courses were creative writing though it was a lot of full on essays that won every semester #creative writing was already very shafted in general #ANYWAY IM RANTING but i’m in full fairy tale mood and maybe i’ll make an AO3 to just post all of my fairy tales that I did #and maybe some other stuff. i forget that i’m actually a fairly decent writer. mostly academic but i don’t do bad creative
