Okay, totally out of nowhere question, but... How long has Kuriza had his little bunny Snubbin? Must have quite the bond those two if he hasn't found anything superior/grown out of it.

...I hope you're not in a rush to have him grow up too fast.

It was his very first.

"I ain't here t' tell ya what t' do," Arackniss mutters out as he fishes around his coat pocket to find his cigarette container. The look of sheer disgust on his face isn't an act-- it just isn't aimed where these two chuckle-fucks think it is. From the looks of it, he can barely stand to look in his brother's direction without looking utterly revolted... in reality, it's the sight of Anthony draped over this piece of shit that's enough to make his skin crawl right off of his body.

Valentino has to go down first, which means he needs the moth to drop his guard first. As far as Crimson knows, they're in this together... so, hopefully, the don will play along. If Valentino thinks he's gotten the better of both of them, he'll get cocky (moreso than he already is). "... Crim's the only one've us who can get shit done in Greed," he says as he places the new cigarette between his teeth.

"... But, if y'er askin', I dunno why you'd risk snubbin' a Sin when ya could be doin' business with 'im directly. Mammon ain't the middle man here."

Flick. His lighter casts a small flame as he lowers his head to dip his cigarette down. Valentino knows Arackniss' reputation: His services go to the highest bidder, but his loyalty remains with Henroin. He isn't here to be Crimson's thug... he's here to represent his father. No matter how much Arackniss can't stand to be in the same room as his estranged little brother, if Henroin says they're doing business with Valentino, they're doing business with Valentino. With that in mind... it makes sense that he would suggest cutting out Crimson completely if it meant a better deal for the family.

If Crimson plays along, and Valentino thinks he's already gotten the upper hand by dividing them... this can be over fast.

Out of the corner of his smaller eyes, he sees his baby brother's questioning expression. He can't say anything to help him understand, but...

as if suddenly noticing that the woman who had his arm when they entered this room had left body glitter on his sleeve, he lightly swipes at his upper arm in a quick, downward motion. If someone doesn't know what to look for, it looks as nothing more than a disgusted man wiping the whore off of him. Someone who knew Adrian in life, though, would know that motion was a discrete way of saying finished in sign language, and that was how the young mafioso signaled that someone in the room's hours were numbered, or, in his younger siblings case, it was a sign for them to make themselves scarce. Big brother had a job to do. This time, Tony can't make himself scarce, but he can be on the lookout... he can know to jump when Arackniss draws his pistol.

Once Henroin gave the command, Arackniss immediately regretted never returning any of the moth overlord's calls. For several decades, he doubted the old man would have even allowed him to do business with the frocio that humiliated their family name by turning his brother into an ermafrodito troia prancing around and getting fucked by anything and everything that had a dick. Even after he reconciled with Anthony... he didn't want to get involved. It was best for both of them that everyone think Arackniss still hated his brother and everything he represented.

But now... now it was glaringly obvious that something was different. You don't duck a man for fifty-something years only to show up in his club to do business without so much as a phone call.

Valentino wasn't the brightest... but he wasn't that oblivious.

Angel.

Arackniss' eyes glanced to the side when Valentino snapped and called his brother's name.

...

That proved it, didn't it? Valentino knows what's going on, and putting Anthony between himself and Arackniss was his way of showing the darker spider that he knows what's going down.

... but he can turn this around. He can play into Valentino's hand and make the moth think he's got the advantage in the situation. He can do exactly what Valentino expects him to do... until the moth lowers his guard.

So, for the first time since he had met Crimson at his door, he allows his stoic expression to warp into a sneer.

Fortunately, Anthony seems to have gotten the idea as soon as he walked into the room, and he, like Arackniss, is playing into it.

... So he'll do what he's done since he landed in this damned pit: Look at Angel with the most disgust one could possibly muster before looking away, as if he can't stand the very sight of him.

"How many sluts d' you need hangin' off yer arm t' do business?"

Look angry. Look uncomfortable. Look out of your element. Let him think he's winning.

Do you know anywhere to buy the Aku no Hana live action movie? I've been looking everywhere and I can't find it;;

I’m not sure tbh! For that gifset, I just used scenes from the trailers. Maybe in the future, there will be a DVD set of the anime and the live-action. They did that for Kimi Ni Todoke, so Japan might start doing that for other live-action movies as well!

Almost freaks me out how time seems to pass. Seems like Kuriza is getting to be pretty articulate now.

Any highlights from when he was getting up to this point in his learning... or just anything absolutely out of nowhere you never expected him to say/pick up?

Yes, he knows how to cut with his words, even if he's not aware he's doing it. I seem to have avoided the "terrible threes", though; he's as fair-tempered as ever, and even when he does throw the occasional tantrum it's remarkably easy to calm him down.

I'm beginning to appreciate, too, what must be the purpose of that parent-child link: if he can't figure something out, I can lend him temporary pieces of my own understanding, as if by psionic osmosis. Again, hard to explain to someone who's never experienced telepathy. People seem to hold the misguided belief that it's like speaking over an intercom in your mind, and that's certainly something that can be done, but most of the time it's more akin to transmitting a feeling.

That's precisely why I've avoided it for so long, in fact. I don't want anyone influencing my thoughts in such a way. In the case of teaching a child, though, it has remarkable utility.

Anyway, some highlights:

-He had a cussing phase around age two and a half. I think he learned the words from visiting the barracks.

-He's started testing boundaries. If I tell him not to do something, he'll immediately set upon doing it, just to see how serious I was in my command. Sometimes he knocks things off my desk like an ornery kitten.

-Snubbin remains the main character in all of his imaginary games. He's been a chef, an accountant, a military general, a ballet dancer, a mafioso, a supermodel... impressive resume.

He very sorely wants to go to public school. That isn't possible for him, but I've enrolled him in some extracurriculars so he can spend time with other children his age. He seems to be having trouble fitting in... not a surprise, all things considered, but a pity. We'll see...

     OZYMANDIAS HAD FIGURED AS much from the time that Yan Qing had approached him, though he had been suspicious of their motivations. Why in the world would a man who was not fond of authority want anything to do with a pharaoh, an individual who WAS the very definition of authority? If anything, he would have thought that Yan Qing would want to keep his distance from him as a result. Not want to ‘befriend’ him of all things. Surely there had to be a reason behind it, he had thought. None were so curious about him that they would desire to see past what was presented. ❝But why?❞ he asked, his brows furrowing with a sense of confusion as he observed the other. ❝I cannot comprehend why any of that would be of interest to you.❞ Getting close to a king could be beneficial, he supposed. Especially for an outlaw.

     Did it not benefit a king to sometimes have such ruffians in their pocket as well? They could be used to rob his enemies – to sabotage their easygoing trip by making it utterly impossible to pass through certain areas… Alas, that was then and this was now. As he was now, there was little need for that just as there was little need for Yan Qing to want to ‘get to know him’, as they put it. Ah…there was a part of him that was fascinated with the thought of doing all that the other listed. Just being ‘Ramses’ and not anything else but that...

     Was he allowed such a thing?

     Adamantly, stubbornly, he kept his distance from many of the events that took place in this building unless something in particular captured his attention (gambling, coliseums  to prove one’s superiority – these were fine). If Cleopatra or Nitocris wished to be involved in anything, he would offer his support, yet would never often participate himself. Fingers drummed against the table between them, soon coming to a stop as he broke the relative quiet. ❝I suppose it does a king good to see things from the eyes of commoners sometimes.❞ A pause. ❝Perhaps one day I will accept your proposition. Do not become overly excited, however. I said perhaps. Also, know that ‘getting to know’ someone is a two-way street, as they say. I too wish to know if you want to be KNOWN as well.❞ Not on some deep profound level, no. Yan Qing clearly was not interested in that. Just known enough.
