I'm rewatching the entire anime again and... In my opinion,this is the most beautiful scene in the whole anime!

I miss Ymir. And I wish I could see her and Historia together.

In the end, she did what she thought would be the right thing to be done. Decisions are difficult to make.

I wonder if season 2 of Attack On Titan wouldn't have been delayed as long as it was if studio Mappa was in charge the whole time. I never realized just how much larger that studio is compared to WIT. They have 145 employees, while WIT only has around 34, making WIT severely understaffed for a series as big as Attack On Titan. It was a huge responsibility for them since the very beginning, not to mention they were pretty much brand new when Attack On Titan first came out. I am beyond amazed that they managed to hold out for that long, being as tiny as they are. No wonder they couldn't handle it anymore. They have my utmost respect for that, but I still wonder sometimes how different the wait for season 2 would have been had Mappa been handling the project since the beginning. Anyone have any thoughts?

Ymir and Sasha deserved way better. And I'm furious that we've been denied them. And doubly furious that the anime will commit the same offense. Isayama needs to be raked across the coals for what he did.

Lots of interesting, beautifully written characters deserved better: Sasha and Ymir indeed, but also Erwin (I'll never get over his death), Mike, Nanaba, that poor soul of Moblit, Petra... And the list goes on and on. However, we are nothing but mere spectators: we can despise Isayama's choices, curse them and weep for our beloved ones, but in the end we can't do anything concrete about it, so acceptance is what we have left. As it was said several times, "this world is cruel": at least, Isayama did warn us.

Indeed. Isayama was the one who storyboarded Season 2 ending.

I believe this in reference to this post where I wondered if the tie of the S2 ed and the depiction of the fall of Lago was a happy accident or Isayama’s intent.

Ahh, you’re right! In the S2 blu-ray interviews, Araki specifically mentions Isayama’s close involvement with the S2 ED. Isayama talks about feeling guilty for the song selection but how he wanted to create an ending that creates different feelings for those caught up with the manga and those who are anime only. It’s incredibly cool that he tied it all together. Thank you for the ask that made me go looking for this information.
