Hi there, its Athena. Welcome to my new Thursday Ask-A-Thon where its basically a Thursday version of my Sunday Ask-A-Thon where I ask ya'll about your wips: How are things going, hows life and how's your characters? What are they up to?

Hello!!

I'm doing well, just keeping busy with daily life. I've been watching a lot of great movies which is super inspiring.

I havent been working too much on my characters that I've announced but instead some different ones!! I'm currently trying to make a villain who is likeable and relatable while also having them do illegal shit without remorse. It's a actually quite challenging but I'm enjoying it. I'm stuck on the hero for that wip... I want to make him playful while also not terribly annoying in the "do-gooder" way. It's a different style of story than I normally do in that way and im excited to do more work for it and talk about it!

A sneak peak of a Solar x Alt. Sun story that I'm working on in between everything else xD

'‘What are you doing, my light?’

The whisper echoed through his servers while he worked, the sound so vivid and imprinted upon his soul that, in his distracted state, he forgot that it was an impossible thing. 

“I'm working on reprogramming the-” Solar’s voice trailed off, his chest feeling suddenly cold and empty. 

The owner of that voice would never call him ‘my light’ again. His Sun would never speak again at all. 

His Sun…

All he had left were these…these intrusive memories now. That was all he had now. Nothing more than memories. 

His fingers flexed on the keyboard, the memory of Sunny's hand in his own a near physical thing. 

Would Sun be happy at the life he was building here now? No doubt he would get along with the others. He and Earth would have been instant friends. They were both so…so sweet and unassuming. His Sun had never wanted to see anyone hurt. 

‘Not even you.’ His mind offered cruelly. It sounded suspiciously like his Moon. 

He was the reason Sun was-

‘Eclipse-’

‘Eclipse!’

“Solar?”

The voice that cut through his mental anguish took him by surprise, his body jumping backwards from the computer as if it had shocked him.

There in the doorway was Sun.'

JAMES POTTER - Afterglow

James is ten minutes late. You want to kill him. 

"Oi," his voice calls from behind you, irritatingly nonchalant. You turn and see he's also wearing his Quidditch sweater—which means you're now unintentionally matching—and a pair of casual trousers. James sends you a lopsided smirk, pushing his hands into his pockets as he sways on his feet almost awkwardly. "Why so gloomy, newb?" he mocks, the nickname rolling cruelly from his tongue.

You scrunch up your nose and spin around, walking in front of him as you clutch your purse. You don't want to give him a reaction and have him mock you the entire way into town. Instead, you both walk in silence, taking in the morning air and the sound of the birds. Occasionally your purse will hit James's hip and he'll frown, opening to say another snarky comment until he sees a keychain; the one you have of Olive Gnats, a famous chaser from the Montrose Magpies.

"Oh, Gnats, I like her too—" he finds himself admitting before he can remind himself he hates you. 

You startle and clutch your keychain, wanting to hide it from him but then you look down and then back up. "Yeah, she's my favorite player. Her technique is incomparable."

"Seen her match last year?"

"'Course," you say, your tone less on edge now that you're talking about something you clearly love, and the rambling you do so much kicks in, "I would watch her every game ever since I was six years old. Have around ten posters in my room at home, some are old now but—I- I studied her moves when I would play around with my mum and dad—they also played in school—that's how they met and—"

You cut yourself off, James's earlier taunts ringing in your head.

TANGERINE - The Archer pt.2 of Delicate

Y/n. Tangerine mouths your name as he stares into the bathroom mirror, his toothbrush hanging from his lips. Y/n. The name suits you and warmth spreads inside his stomach as he spits into the sink and his mind is filled with memories of how sweetly you'd looked at him.

Fuck. 

"Oi," Lemon's hurried voice snaps him out of whatever was happening and Tangerine turns to him, leaning his hip against the counter. "Some weird fucker is on the phone," Lemon shows his brother his phone, an unknown number displayed clearly on the screen. "Says we have something of his."

Tangerine bristles and his jaw clenches involuntarily. He holds out his hand for Lemon to hand him the phone and when he does it puts it on speaker and holds it close to his ear, letting Lemon lean in and hear the conversation. 

"'Ello?"

"You have something of mine," a hoarse voice cuts the silence. The man behind the phone sounds older, like his voice has had the time to become damaged from years of smoking, and he has a Irish accent.

"And what might that be?" Tangerine retorts, sending Lemon an unsure look but he keeps his tone steady.

"You have my wife."

Honestly I cannot believe that I've been on tumblr for just over a year now and somehow there's already so many of you wonderful people here that are reading, enjoying, and supporting my silly little fics. When I jumped over here from AO3, I had not anticipated how much fun I was going to have getting to chat with all of y'all while also sharing my stories with those of you who aren't on AO3. I've definitely made some wonderful friends this past year because of tumblr and I just want to say thank you to everyone for the support. I always mean it when I say y'all are the reason I keep writing these stories 💖

I could certainly get sappier but instead I'll just invite y'all to join me for my first ever celebration! There's a few fun things below the cut that y'all can pop up with in my ask box starting today May 3 through Wednesday May 8! I tried to think of some interesting things that I could realistically make time to do with everything currently going on in my life, especially because I'm also still trying to stockpile rough drafts for many of my stories so that I can still have updates during my upcoming "writing hiatus" (that I'll explain more about later). ↠ HISTORY OF ASPEN I grew up in a family that was steeped in all things stories: grandparents, aunts and uncles always telling stories at family gatherings; parents read to me before bed; watching too many movies and cartoons; staying up way past my bedtime trying to sneakily keep the light on to read and read and read; playing elaborate imagination games after school with my best friends (house, princesses, orphans, dance coaches, etc). I wrote my first story in my eighth grade English class where one day in the computer lab we were assigned to write a mystery that was at least one page. I loved it. My teacher said it was good...

That summer our family moved - mere days before I started my freshman year of high school - so that fall before I made friend friends, I read a lot and I started writing. I was desperate for the next Harry Potter book to come out, so I started writing my own... the next year I learned about fan fiction on the internet and that it was a thing. I was drawn into Lord of the Rings fanfic, then I wrote a Pirates of the Caribbean fanfic, and then I went back to Harry Potter and actively wrote in that fandom for around six years.

In college I majored in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing because while I was writing fan fiction, I was also occasionally dabbling with original fiction... the dream was to be a famous writer.

↠ WHY BUCKETS-AND-TREES Buckets because I thought I'd be writing almost exclusively Bucky and Trees because Aspen. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 

↠ ASPEN NOW In summer of 2022 I aggressively reclaimed HAVING hobbies in an effort to re-establish Aspen having a life outside of work. I love my career and I've worked incredibly hard to establish myself in the professional world, but... I needed to be more than just my work again.

So, again I write.

Throughout 2023 I started venturing out and participated in A LOT of challenges, which was so much fun in pushing my creative boat out into new waters. In 2024 I plan to DO THE DAMN THING and write a novel. I've always intended to, but 2024 will be the year. ↠ MY WORK Primarily I'm writing MCU fan fiction - typically Bucky Barnes or Steve Rogers; I have written some pieces with Sam, Natasha, Matt Murdock, Namor, and Wanda; I have some ideas for Thor, Carol, and M'Baku that I may or may not get around to. I've written for a slew of Sebastian Stan and Chris Evans characters and that's mostly where my muse lives.

I write a range of fluff, smut, and dark. Nearly all of my work has mature elements whether that's stronger language, sexual situations, or mature themes. HEED THE WARNINGS FOR EACH WORK AND DO NOT READ IT IF IT'S SOMETHING YOU DON'T LIKE. If I miss tagging something properly in the content warnings, please send me a message or an anonymous ask and let me know.

Most of my stories feature a reader insert. Reader is typically female, but when the reader is gender neutral I will designate accordingly! Striving to write an inclusive reader as much as possible, but if I stumble, please send me a message or an anonymous ask and let me know how I can grow.

here is a sneak peak to an upcoming one shot for nalu week 2024!

day 1 - restless

prompt: cuddling/nightmare

...Closing his eyes, Natsu willed himself to relax. He had slept in this hammock many times, and it had been comfortable to him. Before he met Lucy, he was proud of the way the woven, coarse fabric dug into his skin, even if it itched throughout the night. Now, it simply didn’t feel right. 

He scoffed at the thought, shifting again over the rough strands. Right, before he met Lucy. Because everything about his life had changed after. 

Images of golden blonde raced into his mind, and he flipped onto his back, letting the sway of the hammock rock him back into his dreamless sleep, before that sense of alertness came back full force. 

And it brought a scent with it. 

Opening his eyes with a new surge of what the fuck?, he sniffed the air again, inhaling the faint trails of vanilla, morning dew, and jasmine that swirled into his home. Mavis, had he really been thinking about Lucy so much that he was imagining her smell, too? Had he hit his head too hard during his mission yesterday? 

He made a note to see Wendy tomorrow, see if she could find anything screwed up in his brain. Granted, that wasn’t already there. 

But then he heard a branch crack outside his window. Sensitive ears picked up crunching leaves and rustling dirt, and suddenly he wasn’t scared that he was crazy. 

Watching out of the corner of his eye as his front door creaked open gently, he wondered if Lucy was the crazy one...

SNEAK PEAK OF MY WIP (aka writing from the vault) : Carcar | Girl!Oscar | 2024 season | Carlos POV | The story will be probably named "Down Bad"

Carlos always makes a point of getting to know the people around him. Friends and rivals alike. Oscar Jacqueline Piastri, the twenty-three-year-old Australian rookie, is no exception.

The first time Carlos saw her in the Paddock, after the resounding news of her induction into McLaren, he thought she was an ordinary girl at best. She is twenty-two years old, has light hair with brown and red highlights, and dark tired eyes. There is nothing special about her appearance aside from a particularly thick neck.

The F1 journalists are nonetheless enthusiastic, they have all been waiting for her official arrival in Formula 1 since her title as Formula 2 world champion. She will be the first female holder in a Formula 1 world championship. They talk about her famous tweet, the upcoming debut of the F1 Academy so young girls like her can hope for a place in Formula 1, from her contract with McLaren.

She is a pure product of long hours of PR training: smart enough to evade awkward questions with jocularity and lively to respond to barbs with humour.

He sees her as a danger once she reveals herself as a generational talent.

Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen.

They see an addition to their pantheon: Oscar Piastri.

Oscar Piastri has, in less than a year, brilliantly succeeded in attracting the favour of journalists and Formula 1 fans thanks to her talent and nothing else. However, they analysed and dissected all her races in previous categories, emphasising the “unfair manner” in which she betrayed Alpine

It is obvious, even with a lot of ill will, that she is gifted.

Among the grid, she is the only one who can boast of having won the Formula Renault championship, the Formula 3 world championship and the Formula 2 world championship in a row. She has two Rookie titles of the year and is one of the best Rookies in History, with 97 points recorded in her first season. She is, with him, the only one to have fought the hegemony of Red Bull, by winning a Sprint race.

Oscar Piastri is the one who sets the standards for all the women who come to Formula 1 after her, and the records she sets will be difficult to beat.

Carlos doesn't like her and the feeling is mutual.

Oscar's diligence in being recognised only for her talent and calmness breaks every time she finds herself close to Carlos in the race. Their radios become a battlefield.

“Classic Carlos.”

“Carlos is blind, or what?”

“Can someone signal that Carlos is in the middle of the road? Again.”

“He gave me no space.”

“Does he drive, or does he just visit the track?”

“That was a Ferrari? Please tell me it’s not Carlos, again?”

Oscar has embarked on a vendetta, and Carlos is more than happy to respond by pointing out all of her mistakes: too daring manoeuvres, clumsy tyre management, a bad apex or a behaviour that was controlled, but could have resulted in an accident. Charles and Lando find him harsh with her. Carlos thinks they are too naive. Oscar Jacqueline Piastri is not a nice, innocent Australian with an overly developed neck, an ordinary appearance and who attracts good words from others thanks to her exemplary driving skills.

Oscar Jacqueline Piastri is a petulant Formula 1 driver with a competitive spirit and a thirst for victory that shimmers like a glint of madness in her brown eyes. She is the teaching product of Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso, there is nothing innocent or nice about her, and Carlos can at least pride himself on being the only one to have noticed her.

She's here to win, and once she's in the car, her true personality comes out.

hi! any spoilers or sneaky peaks on the untold tale? i've been anxiously waiting for the new chapter 😫 your writing is on another level, i swear. i reread the first five chapters like more than 4 times each. i'm also loving your characterization of binghe!

Hullo, hullo, anon! 💞 It makes me heartened to hear that you like The Untold Tale! And I’m glad you’re liking my characterization of Bingge! I personally like my yanderes in fiction, and it’s always somewhat hilarious how wild and simp-y Luo Binghe’s POV and dialogue/ thoughts can be compared to Shen Yuan who’s just doing his best, haha.

We haven’t reached TUT’s position yet on my WIPs to Update list, so I haven’t been posting much sneak peeks of the upcoming ch6 yet since the majority of it is still in my rough note form (reminders of what I want to happen, dialogue that needs to happen, specific foreshadowing or worldbuilding, etc) and not the pretty final draft form y’all see on AO3. But I am very frank in my replies about what’ll happen in the AO3 Comments section so spoilers are abound there, haha. If y’all want a Spoiler Free experience, do not check out the Comments section. I answer questions and even gift spoilers (even copy and paste certain scenes that haven’t been published yet) to certain readers as thanks for leaving me long essay-long comments or just plain any comments that’ve made me happy.

There’s also a jokey April Fools version of what’ll be in ch6 that I’d tweeted out: TUT ch6 threadfic (April Fools edition). You can read it there if you have a Twitter account but essentially it’s scenes to expect—but butchered with American and British colloquialisms I have a certain writing process where I go all in on the fandom belonging to whichever WIP I’m working on updating, and at that time I wanted to show why it’d be a bad idea if I jumped back into writing TUT under this mindset and how it’d be jarring, haha. TUT has a certain writing style unique to C-novels and light novels in general, so I didn’t want to detract from that experience!

If you want a direct spoiler, this is what to expect from TUT ch6:

I do, admittedly, miss the SVSSS fandom a lot and really can’t want to return, my lovely dear readers, but I have to be a responsible multi-fandom writer rotating through my list of WIPs in an orderly fashion so it’s fair for everyone and wait for their turn and can only promise the patience will be worth it (to preserve the magic of it all)!! Thank you for your patience! I am heartened to hear there are people still reading and waiting for my return! I’ll share new sneak peeks as I’m live-writing it, once I’m ready to pivot back to TUT. ✌️ There also exist some other spoilery kernels but I’ll leave one more hint:

And after ch6, will be the Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky chapter where y’all will find out whose new poor cannon fodder’s identity he’s transmigrated into almost as a direct consequence of Shen Yuan’s transmigration as a celestial sharing the Protagonist’s Halo with Bingge in this new danmei genre he’s created (laughs). I’m excited because I get to finish up and debut the prettier illustration of ASTtS that’s been gathering dust in my computer files.
