Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: Do any of your ocs hate or love certain weather?
Am I just now realizing I answered the last one on a Saturday? Maybe. Doesn’t matter, moving on.
Yes! Ash loves sunny days, because 1. she spends a lot of time indoors and 2. most of the days on the island city are cloudy and damp due to coastal winds. Like San Francisco type cold n wet. So she values the sun.
Beth loves fog and mist; there’s so much water in the air around her she feels safe.
Hans loves sunny days, but they have to be sunny days with big puffy clouds, because he wants to fly up high and enjoy the view!
Aspen loves windy days. She thinks it makes her look badass (it does), and obviously it makes l sailing easier.
Olufemi enjoys thunderstorms, for biblical wrath of god reasons. Mal does not like them, because she feels like she’s about to get smote by that same wrath of god (aka lightning).

Hi there buddy, my name is Athena. I'm coming to say hi, see how you're doing and this is a chance to ramble about your wips. Has any music inspired a wip or scene of yours?
Hi Athena! :D I wouldn't say music has exactly inspired a whole WIP, but I listen to instrumental music (mainly Two Steps From Hell) while writing, so it inspires the WIP's vibes, I guess? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: Do any of your characters have any favourite media, real or stuff you made up?
Hello! Hmm, I'll have to go with hypothetical answers for some of this I think, but I'll start with the modern magic one:
Helios the technomancer would watch those "How It's Made" shows and sit there complaining the whole time how inconsiderate the electronic gadget segments are because it's obvious the mass production facilities didn't consult with an actual technomancer before calibrating anything.
Darrien the cosmic entity would watch documentaries about space and enjoy the human's POV about the stars, including how different cultures interpreted and named constellations.
Donovan "Van" the will-o'-wisp enjoys club music of all types.
In the [untitled deity project] universe, if TV existed, the deities of flora and fauna would watch nature documentaries and take notes on changes they could make to possibly mess with the mortals' understanding of certain plants and animals, or take inspiration to create new ones, because the two would be equally fascinated by how mortals perceive things.
In the Feathers & Flowers universe, if TV/Internet existed, Aurelia the winged messenger would watch as many gardening videos as possible to learn more about plants so she could impress, or at least assist, Fiore the plant-hybrid with her herbalist shop. Fiore would probably listen to classical music or soft jazz since plants respond well to those types of music.
The theme of documentaries continues with a joke scenario @cynthrey and I came up with of a couple of thousand-year-old characters who watched technology evolve to the point where the history of their own family was being covered, complete with rumors and inaccurate theories about their shorter-lived siblings (and themselves, when they disappeared from history to avoid attention). They debate if it would be a risk to reveal themselves to correct these inaccuracies, but then one of them simply resorts to writing "historical fanfiction" and gives all the "characters" the real personalities that they knew they actually had.

Hi there, its Athena. Welcome to my new Thursday Ask-A-Thon where its basically a Thursday version of my Sunday Ask-A-Thon where I ask ya'll about your wips: How are things going, hows life and how's your characters? What are they up to?
Hi, Athena! Thanks for the ask.
Life's good mostly. I'm ahead on edits for the web serial, and moving past a bout of writer's block so I can have drafts ahead of the Web Serial schedule as well.
I always feel weird when generally asked about my characters because there are so many and then i instantly forget all of them. However, I have a Web Serial whose recent events I can regale you of.
Singe and Bobbi got stuck in a cave (They got better), and now Bobbi knows Singe's deep dark secret of not knowing what Australia is.
Cassandra has met the jokesters and is dealing with a reality manipulator who brings up people's past trauma for fun (and boy dies Cassandra have trauma to bring up).
Coming up, a trio of friends watch the world change as they meet at different times, while Cassandra gets really close with some smart people (and Void).

Hello!!
I'm doing well, just keeping busy with daily life. I've been watching a lot of great movies which is super inspiring.
I havent been working too much on my characters that I've announced but instead some different ones!! I'm currently trying to make a villain who is likeable and relatable while also having them do illegal shit without remorse. It's a actually quite challenging but I'm enjoying it. I'm stuck on the hero for that wip... I want to make him playful while also not terribly annoying in the "do-gooder" way. It's a different style of story than I normally do in that way and im excited to do more work for it and talk about it!
Thank you for the ask Athena!

Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: Do any of your ocs hate or love certain weather?
Oooohhhhh, I love this question because my main original WIP is focused on characters with elemental powers, so their favorite weather matches up with their elements.
For instance, Sky and Kay are right at home during a thunderstorm. Sky loves the clouds and the shadows, while Kay feels energized by the lightning and thunder :D
Shaun could stand out in the rain all day, where as Reese prefers dry weather because it makes the earth easier for him to manipulate with his element :D
Matt loves the cold, but Nate thrives in the heat and warm weather.

Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: Would your ocs fight a god to save someone they loved?
Hi Athena! Thank you for the ask :D (I still don't understand how you've managed to send them to so many people. Its amazing!)
Yes they would and they do! Well not quite a god but a being called a glory who is a magic user with godlike powers (they can change reality, resurrect when they die unless they're trapped in a death loop).
In general they all end up fighting at least one glory but there are a few scenes I have planned where someone has to get saved. My favourite one is near the end of the first book where Rai is severely injured and Lux manages to fend off the glory single handedly to save him. I just think its super sweet :')

Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: Have your ocs ever brought someone back from the dead by either necromancy or going to heaven, hell and the like?
Hi Athena!!
Hmm... of my Star Wars OCs, which this blog is dedicated to, not really. And of my OCs through other fandoms, I actually don't have many that have brought people back from the dead (and I have over 200 OCs from various fandoms. Do I have a problem? I don't think so. Others might disagree lol). However, I will admit that I have several OCs that are the ones brought back from the dead, or the brink of death. Including one of my Star Wars OCs.
Thanks for always sending these, Athena! I really appreciate you 💜

Hi buddy! Its Athena, I'm sending this out to all my mutuals - what got you into writing, what inspires you, who inspires you and what music inspires you to write? what do you love about writing?
Hoo boy lots of questions
I didn't really want to write until I found the whump community cuz it was someone to write for and share my writing with. Just doing it completely alone is no fun for me
Idk if anything or anyone in particular really inspires me, I just take inspo from random shit in my life and twist it into something usable, especially things in other media
Tbh I've probably gotten the most ideas from like anime songs lol. The style of the lyrics just seem to get the gears turning idk
I love being able to flesh out the fantasies in my head and then just be able to read them when I want to cuz that's a party. That and other people enjoying my writing cuz I like seeing it make them suffer happy!

Hi buddy! How are you, how's the writing going and is there anything you love about a wip that you're particularly proud of?
I’m tipsy! I’m eating good food prepared by a loving partner! I’m watching critical role! I’m GOOD.
In terms of writing I’m toying around with. The idea of trying to write two wips at once. Like working on either depending on how I feel in the moment.
Because I think I have good momentum on Satan’s Secretary, but I’m also thinking about The SOLE Project more n more latelyyyy. Hm.
Cuz that wip is magic for me. I love it so much. It’s going to be so good. The themes! The characters! The plot points! I believe in it so much. The story has been through so much. It deserves to come out on top, I can’t wait to get it in a good place to start showing it to people.

Hi buddy! I'm sending another round of questions for Sunday Writeblr Ask-A-Thon! My question to you is: have you ever written any song, stories or poems for your characters to recite or anything like that?
I'm terrible at writing poetry and songs, so nope :P The only exception is a line from an in-universe nursery rhyme in The Power and the Glory. This is just one line, so it was easier to come up with it than a full poem :D
I've created several in-universe myths and stories, though! The story about the phoenix in TPATG is the only one that's important so far.

Hi there, its Athena. Welcome to my new Thursday Ask-A-Thon where its basically a Thursday version of my Sunday Ask-A-Thon where I ask ya'll about your wips: What's been the most fun thing to work on recently, and of all time and why?
Hi! I’ve spent the past year+ churning out fanfic for Afterlife SMP (alsmp), and it has turned out to be the most fun I’ve had in a while. For starters, it led to me meeting my partner in creative crimes, @cynthrey, who inspired me to also write some fanfic for Empires SMP, and always provides a soundboard for new ideas I get (or we go back and forth building off each other’s ideas). This has led to many more fics than I had ever thought I would write again, with a pile of WIPs in the works. We came up with some AU ideas that we eventually adjusted into being more about OCs than canon characters, so that has also been fun to develop.
I think I might count this collaborative effort toward “of all time”, too. I used to be a stickler for one decisive canon or fanon in my personal writings because that was how my brain processed stories, but I learned that I can, in fact, juggle two parallel AUs (and I've just added in a third).
As for another reason why, the appeal of Afterlife for me comes from the possibilities presented in a character’s super powers changing, and I love exploring other details that could be involved with those powers, and how each one effects a character’s emotions or mental state. (Granted, I’ve taken things in more serious directions than some of the goofiness that occurs in canon, but that’s one thing fanfic is for, after all.)

Hi there buddy, my name is Athena. I'm coming to say hi, see how you're doing and this is a chance to ramble about your wips. How many ocs do you have, how many have been through a lot and do you keep everything tracked and organised with tables and stuff?
HI Athena!!! I have 61 ocs I think? haven't been keeping count really lmao, I probably should slim that down XDD Only Midnight has been through the most, poor him. After getting the chance to move away from his human family that had no idea how to take care of someone like him, on the way to his new house, tragedy struck and his previous father was gone when Midnight emerged from the car wreckage, ending up outside in the rain with damp and bloody clothes. And then on TOP of that, due to a biological curse he lives with (he has a demon called a Night Demon within him), when he tried to get an exorcism to get rid of it, it went wrong and set that demon free, who would come to be known as Staticlight!

Have you ever struggled with something in your story and then another piece of media has helped you become unstuck?
Music. So often I've listened to a song and visualized the scene and figured out where to go from there.
But also, I think reading as a writer is incredibly important. When I got back into writing I made myself read more and learned to love it again. While there hasn't been a "eureka" moment after reading a book I know it's helped me with things like pacing or even basic prose structure.
