@lipsie - you are not the first to recommend an ita bag! i'm considering it, maybe... it would be nice if i could find a genuine leather one...
@queenqueso - yeah, that's about where i am, too. they're so... childish looking and i hate it :(
@snark-n-snack - HILARIOUSLY,

i picked up one in decent condition on poshmark a few weeks ago! the problem is it's still a little big and i'm trying to pare down what i carry on a day-to-day basis for the sake of my back. i've got enough weight with my chest as it is
(don't mind the mess, i'm reorganising)

You’d heard a lot of things about Trafalgar Law, mainly that he was a Surgeon of Death and that he had rather wicked abilities. He was feared across many island nations but as he sat before you bickering with Straw Hat Luffy, you couldn’t help but wonder if they’d gotten it all wrong. He’d seemed so serious at first but not in a traditional way, he was alternatively authoritative. He’d bark orders to his crew and they’d obey with such an enthusiasm that directly contrasted his demeanor, it was evident that they knew him for who he actually was and the world did not.
Luffy must’ve felt it too, something similar to what you were feeling now. It wasn’t obvious at first, but you’d started catching a smirk crack across Law’s stoic features from time to time. Once when the bubbly Straw Hat’s captain had captured a beetle and chased Sanji around the beach with it and again when Brook slipped in his 75th bone themed joke of the day. You’d even caught him skillfully picking an argument between Kidd and Luffy, a great pretender who wanted to appear far more militant than he actually was.
You’d noticed other things too, the way soft black tufts of hair framed his face and how the sun would glint across the golden metal of his earrings. His tattoos looked cool toned in comparison to his sunkissed skin, the way his toned chest peaked out from beneath the low neckline of his shirts. You’d noticed the way that he was kind to those in need but never wanted anyone to see it, how much he loved and cared for his crew despite giving their affections a cold shoulder. He could be so mischievous at times, Law was a paradox in his own right.
He’d noticed somethings on his own too, the way your eyes lingered on him for far longer than necessary for conversation. How you’d make sure he had a share of whatever everyone else was enjoying whether it be drinks or food, it was as though you were partial to him. The way that you interacted with his crew perplexed him at first, he wasn’t sure what to think with how friendly you acted toward them. He didn’t have a great track record with letting people into his life, but he was beginning to think that he’d have to make another exception.
“Why did you give it to Traffy?”, Luffy pleaded with watery eyes after you’d offered Law the last of your snacks, “I can’t believe this, I always get your leftovers!”
“You better give it to him, (Y/N)-ya.”, Law interjected, the brim of his hat hiding his eyes, “We can’t have the child throwing a fit.”
“I’m not a child!”, Luffy argued back, totally missing the small smile on Law’s face, “You’re the child! Big goofy hat and all!”
“He’s older than you and if we’re being real, your hat is big and goofy too.”, you retorted while shuffling the food into Luffy’s hands, “You’re definitely the child in this scenario.”
“Always defending your boyfriend and not the Captain.”, Zoro remarked while clicking his tongue, totally embarrassing you.
Law’s face went ablaze, you needed to think of something to snap back with and fast. The three sword style meathead couldn’t have possibly sniffed you out. His remark had to have been born from snark.
“You jealous?”, you teased the swordsman, his eyes rolling to the back of his skull at the remark.
You turned to face Law who had already captured you in his gaze, your eyes met and awkwardly parted. For being a former warlord and current supernova, he was not very seasoned in chivalry. You wanted so desperately for him to make the first move, things were quickly becoming painful. One by one and on both crews, everyone had started noticing the strange aura that clouded your interactions. When you weren’t around, Penguin and Shachi teased Law about it relentlessly.
“They’re right Captain, she’s not gonna bite.”, Bepo tried to be the voice of reason.
“Enough!”, Law raised his voice while the two men snickered, Bepo remaining supportive as ever.
Even Ikakku, who almost never partook in Penguin and Shachi’s dumbassery, agreed that something needed to be done about the pair of you. She was tired of waiting for development in what had become a several months long stalemate. Your time with their crew was only ticking close to it’s inevitable end and she just couldn’t let that happen.
“Hey, do you have a minute?”, she approached you nearing the end of the day, leading you to a private area to talk, “How do you feel about the Captain?”
“Law?”, you asked as though you had no clue what she could be referencing, “He’s nice, a lot less diabolical than the rumors I’ve heard.”
“He’s nice?”, she asked in stunned repetition, “Only nice?”
“I mean he’s strong, funny, he’s a cool guy.”, you replied quickly, doing what you could to not slip up.
“Look, I know it might be a little nerve wracking but you’re gonna have to spell it out for him.”, Ikakku attempted to spark motivation in you, “I can ensure you that he feels the same way, watching you two keep this up is starting to make me long for more at this point.”
You took her comments in stride, lingering around him with more intent throughout the remainder of the night. She purposefully wrangled all her crewmates and excluded Law from their activities, effectively giving him all the free time necessary to break through this one last boundary. The two of you had chatted about everything but nothing of consequence, this was so much more difficult than it realistically needed to be.
“So, what was your little conversation with Ikakku about earlier?”, he asked out of the blue, breaking the non-consequential atmosphere that had begun simmering.
“Oh nothing, she just asked a question.”, you lied through your teeth, avoiding eye contact.
“It didn’t seem like nothing, she’s not one for useless conversation.”, he pried more, seemingly knowing what he was doing.
“What do you think we talked about?”, you forced yourself to meet his face, his eyes already fixated on your features.
“It’s hard to say exactly…”, he trailed off his sentence, maintaining eye contact.
You could’ve sworn he leant closer, but maybe it was your imagination. Either way, you couldn’t back down now. This was your chance to stand your ground, if he backed away you’d have your answer. The seconds felt like minutes and the longer you lingered like this, the closer the two of you had become. You flickered your gaze from his eyes to his lips and fought back a giggle as bewilderment crossed his features. He replicated your gesture, prompting you to brush his nose with the tip of your own. This was as far crossed the boundary that you were willing to go without being met, he’d have to bridge the gap from here.
His face looked as stern and analytical as you’d ever witnessed, he was clearly weighing the potential collateral of giving into his desires. So indecisive and for the first time in a very long time, so vulnerable. He finally leant forward and pressed his lips to your own, gently gliding his tongue along your flesh and giving you every opportunity to pull away. Your hands came to rest against his chest, his tattooed fingers dancing along your cheek and hip as he drank you in.
“EW!”, the two of you reluctantly parted upon hearing the expression, “TRAFFY AND (Y/N) ARE KISSING!”
You couldn’t help but giggle at the effervescent Straw Hat Captain. Some would say that he and Law were total opposites but they were more alike than different. This time, Law laughed with you and let himself revel in such a warm moment. It might’ve been a long time coming, but it was certainly worth the wait.

if i say...i love you!
a/n: i saw the if i say i love you music video and i am a CHANGED WOMAN. was going to make this for taesan but there aren't enough loser leehan fics out there. cranked this out in one day so if there any grammatical errors, pls let me know <3 quick note: feedback, comments, etc. GREATLY encourage writers! if you felt any sort of way (in a good or bad way!) about this fic, pls leave feedback!
word count: 7.4k
tags: high school au!, losers in love, leehan is referred to donghyun, dongmin is a character accurate loser + menace, jihyo han/jihan best girl!, the bnd boys are chaotic and stupid, leehan is in LOVE, warnings: none!
THERE'S A FAT CHANCE THAT YOU'RE GOING TO ACCEPT KIM DONGHYUN'S CONFESSION.
at least, this is what han dongmin says when donghyun lays out his plan in front of his best friend.
"why?" donghyun whines, looking down at his hasty scribbles on his blueprint. "what's wrong with the plan?"
dongmin rolls his eyes, not even looking down at the blueprint (which donghyun had literally drawn out his plan on blue paper to make the entire situation more official - but dongmin just thinks its childish, if not a little adorable) as he pads into the kitchen to grab a snack.
"well for starters, i'm fairly sure that y/n can't read what you've written," dongmin says, two packets of goldfish richer when he returns.
donghyun frowns as he looks down at the paper before groaning, realizing that the hieroglyphics he'd written in place of legible letters were definitely far from interpretation.
"what do i do?" donghyun bemoans, dragging out each syllable. "by the time i work up the courage to confess to her again, we'll all be senior citizens instead seniors in high school!"
dongmin snorts before finally giving the 'blueprint' a solid look to decipher exactly what donghyun's plan was.
"your plan is to get down on your knees before first period and ask her out in front of the entire class with - are those chocolates or suspiciously small grenades? - chocolates and flowers? and you think that she's going to be first of all, comfortable with this and second of all, willing to say yes?" dongmin shakes his head, shoving a handful of goldfish into his mouth. "even if she does have feelings for you, she'll probably say no just because of this plan."
donghyun lets out another groan as he lays on the floor, cursing his luck. when he'd run the plan by jaehyun, the older had said that it was the perfect plan. although, if myung jaehyun thought that this was a good way to ask someone out, that really should've been donghyun's first sign of danger.
"also did you even need an entire sketch for this? i mean, it seems pretty straightforward," dongmin says, barely dodging assault by very well aimed marker.
"well, if you're done snarking on my plan, can't you help me figure out how to ask her out?" donghyun says, flipping over to serve dongmin his killer move - puppy eyes. the motion is clearly lost on dongmin when he just shovels more goldfish into his mouth but after a painfully long moment of chewing dongmin moves from the couch to the floor.
"alright, alright, fine...here's what you're gonna do..."
TRIAL ONE: DONGMIN'S PLAN
"hey jihyo," donghyun says casually, nodding to you as he spoke with your best friend, han jihyo. it was 7:30 in the morning and while donghyun usually couldn't be bothered to woken up before 7:45 in the morning (when he would eventually be yelled at by his mother and then scramble to get to school), he felt surprisingly excited to get up early in the morning to get to the school.
jihyo looks at donghyun confusedly as she takes her seat right next to you, where you had your textbooks open in front of you, just like he knew you would. "hey donghyun. what's up?"
donghyun shrugs, trying his best not to look at you scribbling away as he converses with jihyo. "nothing much. i was just wondering if you were busy later today? dongmin got us tickets to watch a movie but our friends dropped out."
"which movie?" jihyo asks, eyes sparking up at the mention of donghyun's best friend.
"uh..." donghyun wracks his brain, trying to come up with a movie name on the spot. dongmin hadn't prepared him enough! "interstellar?"
"are you asking me or telling me?" jihyo says, just barely suppressing her laugh. next to her, you look like you're in a similar situation, eyes bright and sparkly with the efforts to not completely laugh in his face.
while donghyun would usually take this in a win in itself, he decided to push his luck just a bit further. "i'm telling you; it's dongmin's favorite movie."
he pretends to ignore the subtle elbow jab that you offer to jihyo, fighting down the corners of his lips that keep creeping upwards. perhaps this plan could help donghyun and dongmin - two birds one stone. even if in this situation, dongmin was completely oblivious to jihyo's affections...
"yeah, i'm free later on," jihyo says before turning to you, her hair covering her face so donghyun can't see her facial expression as she's speaking with you. "you're free too, right y/n? you're coming with us?"
"i mean, i am free but i don't want to intrude. we don't even know if dongmin has enough tickets," you point out, a little shy as you look anywhere but donghyun and jihyo - which is a little hard considering that jihyo is practically in your face and donghyun is a good two meters tall (or at least, that's what it feels like).
"i have tickets," dongmin says, announcing his presence with an arm slung around donghyun's shoulder.
"perfect! so then we'll meet you guys in the courtyard at the end of school," jihyo says, fluttering her eyelashes not so subtly at the sight of the large man currently dangling off of donghyun.
he flashes an 'ok' sign as the two boys make their way to the back of the classroom, dongmin snickering at donghyun's dazed expression.
neither of them realize that you've turned around in your seat, a soft look in your eyes as you steal glances at donghyun.
+++
"i hate you," donghyun mutters under his breath. dongmin slaps his forehead with the heel of his palm, staring at the tickets in his other hand.
"you didn't exactly give me enough time to secure four tickets to interstellar of all movies," dongmin hisses, turning to flash a sweet smile to jihyo and you, waiting in the line patiently for some popcorn as the boys stood outside the theatre.
"well you didn't prepare me with a movie name! i did the best i could," donghyun whispers back, pulling dongmin to the side when an older couple tries to enter the theatre behind them.
"yes, and now look. we've got four tickets scattered across the hall," dongmin says, waving the tickets in donghyun's face.
donghyun sighs, running a hand through his hair as he tries to figure out a solution to the situation.
"what if we just bounce and do something else? there's no point in watching the movie if we're all gonna be on opposite sides of the theatre," donghyun says and dongmin frowns, looking down at the tickets once more.
"wait wait...there's two seats that are next to each other. it's just the other two that are on the opposite sides of the theatre," dongmin says, pointing out the seat numbers on the tickets.
"so y/n and i will sit in those seats, and then you and jihyo will sit on opposite sides of the theatre?" donghyun asks, reaching out to grab the tickets when dongmin draws his hand back quickly, holding them out of reach.
"what happened?" you ask, voice soft and gentle as you and jihyo walk up to the boys with arms filled with popcorn and soft drinks.
donghyun and dongmin exchange a look before handing over the tickets sheepishly. jihyo takes the tickets with furrowed brows after handing over (dumping) the soft drinks in dongmin's arms.
"hm. okay, give me one sec, i'll text you guys," she says somewhat mysteriously before disappearing into the theatre where trailers were playing.
"uh...i feel like one of us should go with her," donghyun says before pushing dongmin through the door behind her. the bewildered look on his face is quickly covered by the doors that cover him in darkness.
the giggle that leaves your mouth might as well been a choir of angels by the way that donghyun feels weak in the knees, unable to tear his away from your frame.
"here, let me hold that," donghyun says, gently taking the larger than life tub of popcorn from your arms. you thank him shyly, tugging your jacket over your shoulders.
"do you remember the last time we watched a movie together?" you ask, a faint warmth in your cheeks. donghyun nods, tossing a kernel of popcorn into his mouth.
"i've learned that you should be kept far far away from horror movies," donghyun says cheekily. you pout, tucking your hair behind your ear.
"no one warned me that there would be that many jump scares," you complain, chewing on a piece of popcorn.
"i remember how you were shaking while the murderer was searching the house," donghyun laughs, dodging when you reach out to slap his arm. "you wouldn't let go of my arm until the murderer was put in a jail cell."
you clear your throat, trying to will away the heat that was building on your nape and cheeks. "interstellar doesn't have any jump scares does it?"
you look up to meet donghyun's eyes, only to realize that they're already looking into yours. big, bright, sparkly and looking at you as if he's trying to commit every detail about you to memory.
"no, no jump scares," he says softly, and suddenly you get the feeling that you're stumbling into a territory you've never explored before as he draws closer to you.
"um, that's good," you whisper, the moment suddenly too intimate to speak. donghyun looks at you for just a second too long before stepping back when there's a buzz in your pocket.
"dongmin and jihyo?" he asks, shoveling more popcorn into his mouth before you walked in, knowing that dongmin was prone to eating everything in sight when watching movies.
you nod, reading the text message out loud. "jihyo somehow convinced two people to switch seats so we've got seats all next to each other."
"cool. let's head inside then," donghyun says, the warmth of his body leaving yours. he pauses just before he enters the dark theatre, looking at you with a soft smile.
"and y/n? even if there aren't any jump scares, feel free to hold onto my arm."
+++
"what happened afterwards?" kim woonhak asks, sprawled out on park sungho's bed. sungho reaches over to smack him on the arm when woonhak opens up a bag of cheetos, only to spill them all over his bed.
"nothing, obviously. the fool started getting so into the movie that that's all he would talk about for a good hour before y/n said she had to go home and study," dongmin says, slapping donghyun upside the head when donghyun starts to contest his recollection of the situation.
"you're really stupid," lee sanghyeok says, accepting the packet of haribo gummy bears that jaehyun throws in his general direction.
"sure. but this is all because i listened to dongmin's idea. i was supposed to ask her out at the end of the movie in some weird, complicated speech that dongmin came up with," donghyun protests.
"see, that's your issue," sanghyeok says, wincing when woonhak rips the head off of a gummy bear as he eats it. "i don't know why you'd listen to the least romantic person in this room about how to ask a girl out."
"then what do you think i should do?" donghyun asks.
"well, as the only person out all of you fools with a girlfriend, here's what i think you should do," sanghyeok starts, holding up an ipad with a drawing on it.
"when the two of you are cleaning the classroom after classes..."
TRIAL TWO: SANGHYEOK'S PLAN
"uh, what do you mean that y/n's sick?" donghyun says dumbfoundedly. jihyo gives him a weird look as she continues to take down two copies of notes, confirming that y/n is most definitely not at school.
"i mean that she's sick. she caught something from her brother. she's not coming to school today," jihyo repeats, staring at her notes for a moment before continuing to write again.
"oh," donghyun says defeatedly, thanking jihyo before heading to the back of the classroom. dongmin appears in the doorway of the classroom not even two minutes later, lollipop in his mouth as he drops one on jihyo's desk before heading to the back of the classroom to sit down next to donghyun.
jihyo twists in her seat. "this is y/n's favorite flavor. i'll give it to her later when i drop off some soup my dad's making her."
"you're going to y/n's house?" donghyun asks, leaning forward on his elbows, looking like he was pretty close to toppling over the desk and onto the student in front of him.
"uh, yeah." donghyun scrambles out of his seat to head over to the front of the classroom where jihyo was sitting.
"can i come with you?" donghyun asks. jihyo looks at him strangely for a moment before craning her neck to dongmin behind him. it seems whatever she sees is enough to convince her because she nods after a beat of silence.
"sure. you can come too. i'm heading over after we clean the classroom," jihyo says, nodding over to where dongmin was sitting and thumbing through his phone with earbuds in. "bring dongmin too."
"why?" donghyun questions with an innocent expression, backing off when jihyo fixes him with an unimpressed look.
"consider it a favor exchange. my friend for yours."
+++
"you know what, i thought sanghyeok's idea was stupid anyway," sungho says over the phone. donghyun can vaguely hear the sound of weights being lifted and dropped and he figures that his college going friend was likely at the gym when donghyun had emergency called him with a need for a new plan.
"so what do you think i should do? i mean, i only have a couple minutes until jihyo comes out of her house after picking up the soup. how do i come up with a plan in the next three minutes?" donghyun asks worriedly, shoving dongmin away when he sees that dongmin's dangerously close to his phone, trying to figure exactly what sungho was saying on the other end.
"well, clearly food is out of the picture, since you don't have time and because you're a walking hazard when it comes to anything related to a stove," sungho says, more to himself than to donghyun.
"if you could come up with a way to help without snarking on my cooking skills, that would be highly appreciated," donghyun says drily, winding up to kick dongmin when he starts snickering from where he's leaned up against the wall.
"alright, alright. here's what you do, alright? first, when you get to her house..."
TRIAL THREE: SUNGHO'S PLAN
"you've seriously never been to tokyo?" dongmin asks incredulously, his hands shoved in his pockets. jihyo shakes her head, setting down the soup from where she'd just reheated it on your stove.
your parents were out of town on a business trip and according to what she knew about your brother, jihyo figured that park sunghoon was out frolicking around in the snowy streets with his own friends.
"i've never been on a plane before," jihyo explains, satisfied with the heat of the soup finally. dongmin just shrugs, looking around your house with a renewed interest when donghyun pads out of your room to where the other two were standing in the kitchen.
"is she still sleeping?" jihyo asks, trying the soup herself. donghyun nods, rubbing his hands to create some friction and warm them up.
"yeah. she seems to be waking up but i think that she's still pretty out of it right now," donghyun explains before picking up the container of soup. "do you think that you can bring the paracetamol? it looks like y/n has a pretty bad headache."
"how can you tell she has a headache?" dongmin asks, his question turning to a whisper when jihyo looks at him with a withering glare.
"it's called having empathy, han dongmin," jihyo calls out, looking for the paracetamol in one of the medicine cabinets.
"empathy? i have plenty of empathy," dongmin says under his breath sullenly as he follows jihyo into your bedroom.
you're laying in bed, curled up in carefully laid covers, clearly donghyun's work by the way he's examining the bedspread with rather severe scrutiny, as if he's willing the hearts on your bedspread would turn into mini heaters to provide warmth to your sick and tired body. your eyebrows are furrowed, even in your sleep, as though you were fighting away the illness with a physical weapon with effort.
"y/n? you gotta wake up soon. sunghoon said you've been sleeping for hours and that you haven't eaten anything yet," jihyo says, setting the paracetamol down on your nightstand.
"yeah, where is sunghoon anyway?" dongmin asks, watching as donghyun wakes you gently, offering you a smile so sweet, even dongmin feels himself swooning.
"gallivanting on the streets. he's still sick himself but there's no containing the man," you explain, sitting up in your bed. you somehow don't seem all that alarmed that there are so many foreign people in your room, looking worse for the wear.
"here's soup. don't worry, i didn't make it - jihyo's dad did," donghyun says softly, handing the bowl of soup over with so much care, it seemed as though he were handling a live grenade.
you let out a mellow laugh, coughing at the effort as you accept the bowl of soup, letting out a blissful sigh after sipping a spoonful. "tell your dad i said thank you, ji."
jihyo just waves you off, unzipping her backpack to search for her other copy of notes. "here are the notes from today. the biology lecture really gave me a headache so i wouldn't even try to decipher that until you feel better unless you want to feel like a tightrope walker with an anvil on your head."
"that's...really descriptive," dongmin says, laughing when jihyo shoves him.
"i can help you," donghyun says, watching you carefully as you take another sip of soup, thankful for the liquid warming you up from the inside.
"you're willing to sit with me to study biology? are you sure that you don't think it'll be a bother?" you ask, looking up at donghyun through your lashes. donghyun's breath catches in his throat when you do. somehow, even with a runny nose, mussed hair, and granny pajamas, donghyun thinks you look like the vision of beauty.
"it's not a bother to me. spending time with you could never be a bother," donghyun says offhandedly, looking at the label on the paracetamol. it's only when the entire room goes silent does he realize that he'd spoken out loud.
he looks around nervously for a moment before his eyes land on you, staring at him, bright-eyed and every inch the reason why donghyun has trouble sleeping at night these days.
"i mean, you're my friend, right? why would it be a bother to spend time with your friend?" donghyun backtracks and he hears jihyo and dongmin let out a breath behind him. you still look somewhat confused before you nod slowly, finishing your soup.
"friend, right."
+++
"you were at her house and you still fucked it up," woonhak laments, wincing when jaehyun chucks a pillow at him.
"language," the older boy says before flopping on sungho's bed next to woonhak.
"why do you delinquents always have to come to my room? can't we ever hang out in sanghyeok or jaehyun's room? or better yet, why can't we ever hang out at your guys' houses?" sungho complains, but he still sits down next to jaehyun, shoving the two boys a little bit over to make space for himself.
"because your room is the cleanest," sanghyeok points out, never looking up from the homework he was working on at sungho's desk.
"yeah, unfortunately sanghyeok's room is currently serving another purpose," jaehyun snorts.
"what, as a pigsty?" dongmin quips, a smirk drawn out on his lips when sanghyeok fixes him with a thoroughly unimpressed look.
"all of you are useless," donghyun wails, swatting sungho's hands away from his hair. "i've been trying to confess to her for a good week and a half now and all i've managed to do is make a fool out of myself three separate times."
"you didn't make a fool out of yourself, donghyun," woonhak comforts before jaehyun sits up from where he was scrolling on his phone, shaking his head.
"nope, he definitely did. the first time, when dongmin booked four separate tickets and jihyo had to save your ass so you could attempt to confess after the movie, just to ramble about physics and black holes for hours. and then when y/n never showed up to school so you couldn't confess to her while you were cleaning the classroom like sanghyeok suggested. and then when he couldn't even take care of her properly like sungho suggested while she was sick because he can't cook if his life depended on it." woonhak nods when jaehyun finishes his spiel, much to the horror of donghyun, who was now starfish on the floor, looking ready to throw a tantrum.
"yeah, i can see why she would think he's weird," woonhak says with an air of seriousness.
"you guys think she thinks i'm weird?" donghyun cries out dramatically.
"no, otherwise you wouldn't be going to the library together on sunday to go over biology," sanghyeok points out logically, flipping through the pages of his textbook with a crease in his forehead from focusing.
"see, the issue is that all three of those fools are way too subtle with their confessions. sungho's ideas especially was stupid," jaehyun says. "i mean seriously, telling her that you're half in love with her while she's gotta killer migraine must've been the stupidest idea i've ever heard."
"you thought that asking her out in front of the entire class was a good idea," dongmin reminds jaehyun, who just rolls his eyes.
"you guys have no sense of romance."
"i have a girlfriend."
"shut up, sanghyeok."
"damn, alright. i didn't realize all of you were that salty that you're single losers."
"SHUT UP SANGHYEOK!"
after sanghyeok has been served with enough slander for being an insufferable boy in love, woonhak and jaehyun turn to donghyun with twin expressions of evil on their faces.
"you need to man up, donghyun! here's how you tell her that you like her..."
TRIAL FOUR: JAEHYUN AND WOONHAK'S PLAN
"so the reason why this question is phrased this way is because you're supposed to focus on the oxygen affinity for fetuses versus adults based on this curve," donghyun explains patiently, pointing at various points on the diagram in front of him as he speaks.
you nod hesitantly as you follow his hand around the paper before ultimately shaking your head, slumping down on the table.
"i'm sorry donghyun, this entire thing might just end up being a waste of your time. i have no clue what any of this means," you mutter disheartenedly looking at donghyun.
donghyun just shakes his head, smiling as he closes the textbook and stretching. at the table over from the two of you, dongmin and jihyo are bickering about the best my chemical romance instead of studying for english like they'd promised when your teacher announced the upcoming exam on friday.
in the ideal world, dongmin and jihyo would be off being a cute couple (whether they realized it or not) somewhere where donghyun couldn't see them and be jealous but the effervescent feeling he gets from spending time with you is more than enough to douse that jealousy.
"you're shoving a lot of information into your brain. it's hard to get on the fiftieth try, much less the first," donghyun says gently, and you peek up at him, only to cast your gaze elsewhere when you realize just how overwhelming it is to look at him.
it's a warm feeling that spreads through your body as you realize that donghyun looks at you as though you may as well have put the stars in the sky personally for him.
funny. did he ever realize that you looked at him the same way?
but you're left to leave your thoughts with the disarray of papers when donghyun stands up, shrugging his jacket and scarf on.
"come on, let's go get you some coffee," he says, lifting up your jacket to hand it to you. you offer him a small smile as you put your jacket on, following him out of the library once he's stopped and dongmin and jihyo's table to ask them to watch your stuff.
"bring me back a latte!" you faintly hear jihyo whisper-shout, to which donghyun turns around to flash her a thumbs up before leading you out of the library.
the weather outside is surprisingly clear and warm for how much it's snowed over the past few days.
"you didn't put a scarf on?" donghyun chastises, unwrapping his own scarf and draping it around your neck. you try to protest, giving donghyun back his scarf but he just ignores you, expertly ducking and weaving as you try to drape the scarf back on him.
"you're going to get cold!" you exclaim, but you don't fight him when he wraps the scarf around your neck properly.
"you know, i wanted to be your friend since the day i saw you, back in middle school," donghyun says, his breath leaving his lips in clouds as the two of you walked the three blocks between the café and the library.
you wrack your brain, trying to recall the first time that you'd met donghyun. "i thought we met in high school, though? at jihyo's birthday party?"
donghyun just smiles, looking up at the clear skies. "that's when you first saw me. i saw you back in middle school."
"really?" you ask quietly, shocked by the knowledge that donghyun had been thinking about you in whichever capacity for so long.
"yeah. i remember you had braces back then but you still were the prettiest girl in class. you always used to be so quiet and kept to yourself but you were so sweet to everyone around you. i remember when jihyo found out that she was nearsighted, you used to write her notes for her every period until she got glasses. and then again, when she had lasik surgery," donghyun says casually, opening the café door as the two of you enter.
"you - you weren't even in our class," you say, shivering even in the warmth of the café. donghyun seems to notice, by the way that he draws closer to you - so close that you can see the faint freckle by his eye.
"no," he agrees simply. "but i knew anyway."
"you paid that much attention to me?" you ask incredulously. donghyun shrugs, nudging you forward when the person in front of you orders.
"i've always paid that much attention to you, y/n. i just don't think you ever paid that attention to me," donghyun says faintly. you feel weak in the knees at the insinuation, moving forward somewhat dazedly.
"a caramel macchiato, vanilla latte, an americano, and a hot ginger tea please," donghyun says, completely ignoring you when you offer your card to the cashier, swiping his quickly.
"you didn't have to buy coffee for me," you say, tucking your hair behind your ear. donghyun tilts his head, eyes forming little crescents at your gesture.
"hmm." the two of you find a table to sit at while you wait for your orders to come out before you turn to donghyun, curiosity blatant on your face.
"how did you know my coffee order?"
"like i said, y/n. i've noticed you for a while before you ever noticed me."
+++
"you had everything in place! why didn't you tell her about your feelings?" jihyo cries out from where she's sitting in donghyun's beanbag chair, dongmin sitting right next to her, squishing the poor beanbag to near smithereens.
"i agree with her! why didn't you tell her about your feelings?" dongmin exclaims. donghyun rolls his eyes, throwing the tennis ball in his hands at the ceiling before catching it and throwing it back up.
"why is she invited to this anyway?" woonhak asks, even as he offers jihyo a chocopie from the stash of snacks that sungho and jaehyun had gathered after raiding donghyun's pantry.
"because she's the object of this guy's affections for the past four years," sanghyeok says, pointing at jihyo and then donghyun. "it's good to get all of the firepower you can get, with how much a dunce this kid is."
"first of all, i'm not a dunce. and second of all, i haven't asked her out because i don't want to ask her out using one of you idiots' plan," donghyun explains. "i wanna ask her out the way i wanna ask her out."
dongmin sighs, shaking his head. "how is it that you're so mature and suave when you're speaking with y/n and you're such a child when you're with us."
"i think woonhak has cooties and donghyun somehow imbibes them whenever he's in a forty kilometer radius of him," jaehyun offers as explanation.
"shut up. you and i had the same idea for how donghyun should ask y/n out," woonhak reminds jaehyun to which jaehyun has no choice but to just nod along, munching on a chocopie.
"anyway. can we talk about dongmin and jihyo for a second. how the hell is it that y/n and i went to the café while you two were fighting like cats and dogs about the best mcr song and we come back to you to basically making out in the library," donghyun says, turning in his swivel chair to smile smugly at the conjoined twins on his beanbag chair.
"shut up!" jihyo yells, throwing a chocopie wrapper, only to incite more laughter from the boys when it falls to the floor pathetically.
"hey, to be fair, it only took us about two years of knowing each other to start dating," dongmin specifies. "it's just that the past month of trying to push you and y/n together pushed us together enough for us to realize that maybe dating wouldn't be such a bad idea."
jihyo and donghyun exchange a look (a threatening glare from jihyo and very thinly surpressed smirk from donghyun) - something, which unfortunately, does not go unnoticed by the rest of the boys. especially dongmin, who twists to look at his girlfriend with an unbelieving look.
"no way. don't tell me you also have some pining love story like donghyun," dongmin incredulously. at jihyo's silence, the entire group erupts into chaos, with sungho and donghyun (after feeling guilty) trying to silence them in vain.
"oh my god, just when i thought they couldn't get any more insufferably cute!"
"god, i hate both of them."
"why is everyone so bad at confessing their feelings."
"i'm gonna tell my girlfriend about this; she's gonna find this hilarious."
"i REALLY need to stop being single."
dongmin just ignores all of them, pressing a chaste kiss to jihyo's cheek when he realizes that she's gone bright red from the attention to her feelings.
donghyun mimes throwing up when he does so but can't help the smile on his face when he turns to his phone.
"anyway, anyway. back to the donghyun and y/n intervention," jihyo says, clearing her throat. she still earns a couple cheeky grins but manages to turn the gazes of the group to the individual sitting at his desk, frozen in his spot.
"what's wrong?" woonhak asks concernedly. donghyun just lifts up his phone to show the others in the room.
y/n (<3): hey, can we talk?
TRIAL FIVE: DONGHYUN'S PLAN
"y/n? is everything alright?" donghyun says, his footsteps masked by the snow that didn't melt from when it snowed again a few days ago.
you look up at him with a nervous smile. "yeah, everything's fine. um...do you wanna sit down?"
you scoot over to make space for donghyun on the bench you were sitting on. the bench faced the pond, somewhat concealed from the busy streets of seoul by the various coniferous trees that lined the public park.
"sure. yeah." donghyun takes a seat next to you, knee bouncing nearly as soon as he sits down.
"you look nervous," you say gingerly.
"you look nervous," donghyun echoes.
"touché." you fiddle with your hands, the evening suddenly feeling a lot colder than you thought it would be. donghyun notices, just as he notices everything, and for some reason, he shifts so that he's sitting on his hands. almost as he was physically stopping himself from doing something.
"so...what did you want to talk about?" donghyun asks, watching as a young child tries to escape his father's grip to run straight down the little slope that fed into the pond.
"nothing," you squeak out before shutting your eyes tight when you feel donghyun turn to look at you instead of the pond.
"oh. did - did you just want company as you sat outside for a bit?" donghyun stutters, not sure of what to do with himself.
"no," you start, before shaking your head at your own words. "i mean, i do have something to say. i'm just trying to find the words to say it."
"you know, i've been meaning to tell you something to you too," donghyun says tenderly and you immediately nudge him, encouraging him to go ahead and say his piece first.
"no way, you have to tell me first," donghyun defends, turning his nose up away from you when you try to catch his eye, trying to grasp his jacket to turn him towards you.
"i'm nervous, donghyun. can't you do me a favor and go ahead first?" you plead and donghyun melts, unable to hear any sort of sorrow in your voice - for whatever reason.
"alright, how about we say it at the same time?" he proposes and you concede as you nod, retracting your hand, not noticing the way that donghyun's gaze follows your movement.
he lifts three fingers, then folds one, until there's only one left. you shut your eyes, unable to see the expression on his face.
"i like you!"
"i love you."
you immediately open your eyes, jaw hanging as you stare at donghyun, who looks equally flummoxed by your words.
"you like me?" he asks, pointing a finger at you. you turn the finger back at him incriminatingly.
"you love me?" you gasp and donghyun's gaze grows tender, taking his other hand to trap your hand between his two large ones.
"for a while," he admits sheepishly, a shyness so uncharacteristic to the gentlemanly and smooth donghyun you were used to. "i've been trying to confess to you for the past month now. you just...never noticed."
you laugh besides yourself, immediately willing all laughter away when donghyun looks at you with a hurt expression.
"you've been trying to confess to me? donghyun, i've been trying to confess to you for the past month!"
"what?" he stammers. "you've been what for the past month?"
"yes, you fool. i've been trying to confess to you for months. i've liked you for months! and then when you asked jihyo and i to the movie, i figured that it was dongmin's scheme to ask jihyo out so i decided to use the chance to ask you out. and then the whole tickets fiasco happened," you explain, inching closer to him. donghyun uses the opportunity to thread his hand with your own, tugging you close to him so that his body warmth could envelope your shivering frame.
"and then you spent the next hour talking about the movie and you just seemed so excited that i didn't want to distract you. and you know, you're cute, when you're excited," you continue, grinning stupidly when donghyun turns away his head to hide his shy expression.
"so this whole month, you've been trying to confess to me too?"
"donghyun, you say i haven't paid attention but i swear to god, you are so dense sometimes."
TRIAL SIX: Y/N'S PLAN
"look, look," jihyo whispers under her breath as donghyun enters the classroom. you don't look up, not wanting to feed into jihyo's taunts, knowing that it would only serve as fodder for her teasing later on. you wait for donghyun to pass by your desk to the back of the classroom, where he sat everyday, staring out of the window rather than paying attention to any of the classes. any of the classes other than biology, that was.
but to your surprise, donghyun stops at your desks, talking to jihyo about some movie or another. a pang of jealousy that you try to swat away strikes in your chest before you hear dongmin's name and hear donghyun's attempts to keep from snickering in jihyo's face
ah. so he was just the messenger for dongmin.
you continue to write, not sure of what exactly you were writing anymore as you were trying not to make it overt that you were listening to jihyo and donghyun's conversation.
"i know you have tutoring today, but push it back until seven in the evening," jihyo whispers hotly once donghyun has disappeared from earshot.
"you have a movie date."
+++
"are you going to finally use this chance to ask him out?" jihyo asks when she catches you staring at the tall boy conversing with his friend outside the theatre hall as the two of you stood in line for refreshments.
"that's the goal," you respond with a sigh. "i don't know if he feels the same but i don't want to regret never telling him about my feelings."
jihyo nudges you softly. "hey, don't have such a negative outlook. you don't know how he feels, right? don't knock it before it happens."
you don't respond, watching donghyun chasing his friend around with a blithe smile, waving the tickets in the air.
+++
"i personally thought that the best part of the movie was when the dad ended up inside..." donghyun rambles excitedly, holding scoops of popcorn in his hands as he explains his theories to dongmin. you can't help the smile on your face as you watch him act so carefree and enthusiastic. dongmin nods along, explaining his own theory every so often.
jihyo's eyes dart between donghyun and dongmin before she slumps down, taking a long sip of her fanta. "somehow, i don't think that any level of confession is going to happen today."
you just laugh, content to listen to your friends discuss their favorite scenes from the movie before clicking your phone open, only to curse when you realized you only had a few minutes before tutoring.
"i'm so sorry - i have to get going!" you say hurriedly, gathering your things as quick as you can before you rush out of the theatre, wincing when you realize the amount of courage you'd have to work up once again to confess to him.
but donghyun just watches your uncomfortable expression as you rush away, unsure of it was his fault.
+++
you sit up in your bed, accepting the bowl of soup that donghyun hands you, trying your best to ignore the tingle of electricity that runs down your spine when your fingers brush against his.
your focus fades in and out of the comfortable rhythm of the conversation as you sip on the soup when jihyo drops the daunting copy of notes she'd written for you on your desk.
"i can help you," donghyun says, anchoring back to the conversation. you try not to show the fact that your heartbeat is now around the same decibel as a plane taking off, instead trying to deny his offer for fear that spending too much time together might cause to spit out the words you've been chewing on day and night for the past few days.
but something about the way that he says he's more than happy to help you and that you're not being a bother by asking for help makes you stutter for just a moment and in a second of weakness, you accept his help.
"friend." the word feels surprisingly bitter on your tongue when you echo the way donghyun says it, like its been dripped in lead in the way that it sits so heavy.
not when you wanted so much more
+++
"you know what, this will be the perfect timing for you and i to ask them both out," jihyo says, opening the door to the library as the two of you head inside.
"i still cannot believe you and him have been fighting like cats and dogs and you think that it's peak romance," you laugh as jihyo shoves you playfully.
"whatever," she says before turning to you, surprisingly serious. "alright, promise me that you'll ask him out. whenever i'm alone with dongmin, i'll confess my feelings for him so you have to promise that you'll confess your feelings to donghyun."
you interlock your pinky with her, only to drop your hands when you stumble across donghyun and dongmin, who are sitting with their heads together, looking not too unlike head-butting bulls.
"oh. have we interrupted something?" you ask through a stifled giggle, causing donghyun and dongmin to spring apart. you swear that dongmin quite literally is suspended in air for a good two seconds before landing once more in his chair.
"no, no, not at all. come y/n. you and i can sit here," donghyun says, pulling out a chair for you to sit in.
you try your best to ignore jihyo's gaze as you pull out your textbooks, ready to learn as much biology as you possibly could. and maybe put off any sense of confession for as long as possible.
+++
"weren't you the one who said that you didn't want to regret not confessing your feelings to him?" jihyo points out, stirring a mug of hot chocolate. you nod, slumping in your chair.
"i know..." you scramble to straighten your posture as you lean over the table to look at jihyo. "how did you ask out dongmin?"
she shrugs, uncharacteristically shy as she takes a sip of hot chocolate. "i didn't. dongmin asked me out."
you groan, sliding down your chair once more. "why can't donghyun ask me out? what if i just never work up the courage to ask him out?"
jihyo just laughs at your torment when her phone buzzes. she pulls her phone out of her pocket before reading the text message.
dongminnie mouse: donghyun's house in twenty. you're officially on the donghyun and y/n intervention squad >:)
she pockets her phone once more before sliding her hot chocolate over to you before gathering her belongings.
"where you going?" you call out, passing off the hot chocolate to your brother padding down the stairs. jihyo slips her shoes on before turning around with a shit-eating grin.
"to go and fix your issue for you!"
TRIAL SEVEN: FATE'S PLAN
"that's one killer best friend," donghyun huffs as he pieces together the entire situation together. "if only dongmin was as competent; we'd have had this conversation months ago."
you rest your head against donghyun's shoulder, watching as the sun slowly begins to start its descent into the horizon.
"i don't know. i'm kinda glad that things worked out the way that they did. what if i didn't feel as strongly as i do now? maybe this was all meant to be," you say softly. donghyun smiles, turning to look you in the eyes.
just as sparkly, bright and so full of affection as you knew his eyes would be.
he leans in close, just a breath away from you as his eyes never leave yours.
"really? and if i say i love you right now?" he asks, and you forget why you'd ever been scared to confess to this boy, so full of love just for you.
you lean in even closer, pressing your lips against in a sweet, tender kiss, smiling when his lips seem follow yours even with his eyes closed.
"does that answer your question?"
"more than enough."

academic rivals d.g.
Pairing: Dick Grayson as Robin x Reader
Warnings: Some injuries.
Word Count: 4.3K
A/N: Full discretion this idea was given to me by an anon and even though I said I wasn't taking requests I just couldn't resist.
Also @writing2sirvive I hope you find this offer acceptable after not writing for our baby for so long 😭😭
There was always a slight pinch of anxiety when your teacher went around the class, handing back your test papers after grading them and you waited with slightly bated breath, a fist clutching the fabric of your uniform.
Even though you knew you had done well on the exam, you were particularly unnerved by her declaration before distributing the stack of papers that only one person had managed to get a perfect score.
You kept your eyes trained on your desk, waiting for someone behind you to exclaim that they had gotten a 100% but it never came. Not until your teacher had placed your paper in front of you with a soft 'Good job'.
You beamed, barely able to contain your excitement as you waited for the bell to ring.
Of course, you were over the moon that you got a 100. And that you were the only person in the entire class that managed to get one.
But secretly, you were more elated by the fact that someone else didn't.
"Aw, what's wrong Grayson? Your daddy finally run out of money to bribe your teachers with?" You snarked as soon as you caught a glance of the 93 written in red at the top of his paper.
"Sub-par insult, (L/N)." He said flatly.
"I disagree, nothing about me is sub-par, as you can clearly see." A sly grin on your face as you waved your paper with '100' in his face. He rolled his eyes so far back you couldn't resist making a comment, "Roll your eyes as hard as you want, Grayson, you won't be able to find a brain back there."
His friend, Barbara, who was sitting beside him chuckled at this and he turned to her with an irritated glare, "Can I help you?"
She gave him a teasing smile, unnerved by his annoyance toward her, "Oh, nothing, I'm just eagerly waiting for the day you both stop pretending you hate each other and start dating."
It seemed like her comment had just the effect she had wanted when Dick choked on his spit in his haste to argue that even if you were the last person on Earth, he wouldn't go near you with a 10-foot-pole.
"I'm not too happy to agree with you, Grayson but I, very fortunately, have a boyfriend."
His face twisted, "Gross, who'd wanna date you?"
You gave him a fake smile, "Hopefully, not you."
***
"Recognized: Domino, B-08."
You squealed in joy the second the light faded from your eyes, gaze landing on your boyfriend who stood right outside the zeta tube with a giant smile on his face.
You threw your arms around Robin's neck with a giggle, peppering his lips with smiley kisses that he so enthusiastically returned, his arms snug around your waist.
"Do you guys have to do this every time?" Came Conner's unimpressed voice as he shuffled uncomfortably around the two of you making out, "Can you at least stop doing it in the middle of the entrance? People are trying to get places."
You pulled away with a soft blush, smiling at the sight of your sparkly lip gloss on Robin's mouth and his slightly dazed expression. There was nothing like your kisses that was able to knock the vigilante's world off its axis and it had been this way ever since you started dating 10 months ago.
The pair of you were still very much in the honeymoon phase, much to the chagrin of your teammates, who have walked in on you many times while your lips were practically glued to each other.
"How was your day?" Robin finally asked when you had each gotten your fair share of kisses, leading you to the kitchen for a snack before the mission briefing and you beamed, "Amazing! I got a perfect score on that test from last week!"
He raised a brow, "The one that you skipped a date to study for?"
Smiling, you nodded, "The very one."
He sighed, taking a box out of the fridge, "See? I told you that you'd do great! You probably didn't even need to skip our date."
You rolled your eyes, giggling at his pout that you were all too quick to kiss away, "Hey now, I made it up to you, didn't I?"
Nodding, he pushed the box further toward you with a smile, "You did. Which is why I got you this, but I guess it could be for a job well done too."
You gasped when you saw the squiggles of the familiar logo of your favourite bakery on the top of the box and eagerly opened it up, completely missing the fact that it had been sealed with tape and nearly ripping the carboard to shreds in order to get to the treats inside.
The smell of the strawberry shortcake and red velvet cupcake had you salivating, and you wasted to time before digging in.
"Ugh, I love you." You moaned, nearly dissolving into the symphony of flavours and Robin chuckled swiping some of the cream cheese frosting off your cheek before licking it off his thumb, "Are you talking to me or the cupcake?"
You paused, glancing up at him from the cupcake wrapper, "I can love more than one thing."
His affectionate gaze had you melting, forgetting the delicious treat for a second, "Thank you for the gift, I really love it."
Robin happily accepted the sugary kiss you had given him, "Well, I figured, since it had been a while since we had a date in Gotham, you'd be craving it."
You only took another bite of the cupcake to hide your guilty wince. While the list of details you didn't know about your boyfriend was limitless, starting with his name and ending with literally anything else, you felt guilty that he somehow knew even less about you.
At least you knew what city he lived in while he was under the impression that you lived in Star City with Dinah, your mentor. You really thought he wouldn't buy it, especially after he didn't believe Artemis the first time.
But nearly a year after joining the team it would seem that he was still blissfully unaware, and you were planning to reveal your identity to him soon enough. You were firm that you wouldn't be celebrating your one-year anniversary without knowing each other's names at least.
At least once he found out you were living in the same city, you'd be able to have more frequent dates.
"Team to mission room." You heard over the PA, and you grabbed the box with you to the meet Batman and Canary along with the team, unwilling to leave your precious strawberry shortcake at the hands of Wally. This way you'd be able to dislocate his shoulder the second he put his hands on your things.
When you entered the room to find a face that you recognized on the holoscreen, you paused and glanced at Artemis who shrugged in response.
"Leo 'The Lion' Stark, the leader of the cult that was kidnapping young girls was officially incarcerated this morning."
Cheers erupted around the room, and you passed the box in your hands to your boyfriend to high-five Artemis and bring her into a hug. Black Canary patted the both of you on the shoulder, "Job well done on this mission, you two."
The mission that led to his arrest had been an undercover op with both you and Artemis posing as the girls from the private school that was being targeted. Eventually, you were able to find the leader and put a stop to his entire organization.
You had never seen Robin more fearful for your life than during this mission and it was after it that you had said your first I love you's.
"Today's mission is a covert op. For stealth, I will only be sending two members of the team: Robin and Domino."
Robin sent you a smile and you squeezed your interlocked fingers underneath the table.
"If they can stop kissing long enough to actually get the mission done." Conner grumbled underneath his breath and was rewarded with a swift kick to the knee.
***
It happened too quickly.
Everything was going fine. The mission was well underway, and you had observed them long enough to know where they were keeping their illegal servers. All that was left was to input your program that would upload all their data wirelessly so it could be accessed by the league.
Then it all went wrong, all at once.
You don't even remember much of what happened. All you knew is that when you had least expected it, someone had snuck up on you and you had felt your stomach squeeze with a painful terror that you hadn't experienced in a long time upon being caught off-guard.
"The Lion sends his greetings."
What followed was a series of excruciating shocks up your body that had your heartbeat ceasing in your chest and the movement of every single muscle came to a standstill such that you couldn't even make a sound come out of your throat.
You didn't even have the time to think about anything before you lost consciousness, the last thought flashing through your head being your worry for Robin.
And then every single pulse in your head came to an abrupt end.
“Come on hero, come on!” Robin panted as he continued to pump his hands against your chest, counting down the beats in his head to the compressions, “Baby please, please wake up!”
He was in tears, even though he tried to control them, but he had been looking at your unconscious face for the last 30 minutes as he continuously tried to revive you. His stomach was in knots and his chest felt like it was on fire, but he still didn’t quit, he wouldn’t until he passed out himself.
Before he could even stop himself, he was sobbing and the wails he let out erased the count he was keeping in his head, “Someone please help! Please help.”
His communicator lay discarded only a couple of feet beside him, but he couldn’t take his hands off you for a second, he couldn’t mess up the beat, he couldn’t stop the chest compressions because you’d die; and he’d die right alongside you.
“Robin, come in. Robin, can you hear me?”
His chest collapsed in a fit of sobs as soon as he heard the sound of his mentor come through from the communicator. The device beeped with the sound that alerted him of an override indicating that his mentor could now listen in.
“Batman help! She’s not breathing! I don't think she has a pulse! I’m trying to do CPR but she’s not awaking up! Please help!”
“Hang in there, Robin. Someone will be there in five.”
***
"She's alive but her brain was deprived of oxygen for a while so we can't accurately put a time frame on when she could wake up." Batman explained, his voice as stiff as concrete like always but the hand he placed on his ward's shoulder was warm and comforting.
There were so many questions rushing through Robin's head, but he kept silent because a part of him already knew the answer. This wasn't the first time he had seen something like this, while being Robin he had seen countless families, parents, spouses, receive the same news.
The distraught questions would usually follow: would take months? years? is there a chance that she could never wake up? is there anything he could do?
He wanted to ask Batman anyway, he wanted Batman to lie and say that everything would be okay, that the girl he loved would wake up soon and he just had to wait but he knew better than anyone that was all it would be. Lies.
There were those that were fortunate enough for their loved one to eventually wake up. Others would be forced to watch life go by while their loved ones were imprisoned to a bed with the empty hope that one day they'd wake up.
So, he swallowed down all his questions, Adam's apple bobbing painfully in his throat, "Can I see her?"
His father nodded, leading him to the med-bay with one hand on his back. Robin felt his stomach sink with every step he took, staring sullenly at his sock-clad feet. In his rush to change after the mission so he could get to you as soon as possible, he had thrown on anything he could find.
Which resulted in him being dressed in your sweatpants and his hoodie that you had stolen so often it smelt like you; a combination that both comforted him and broke his heart all at once.
When he saw you from the door, a rush of epiphanies struck through him like lightning to a metal rod. Although, first and foremost, he was just relieved to see you. Even though it hurt him to see you unconscious, and he knew that there was a chance he'd never get to see you awake again, a part of him forgot all about that as soon as he saw you.
He took quick steps toward you, wanting nothing more than to feel your skin against his when he stopped in his tracks once again with wide eyes, realizing you were without your mask.
"Robin?"
"I-I know her. (Y/N) (L/N), s-she's in my class." He stammered, staring at your relaxed features with his mouth hanging open. As odd as it sounded, this was the first time he had ever seen you, as (Y/N), so relaxed.
Whether it was a scowl or even just a grimace, you always seemed to be frowning at him and he never bothered to pay any attention to you outside of classes, when you were talking with your friends. He was sure you'd have a mesmerizing grin, one that would reach your beautiful eyes.
Batman stayed silent behind him, and Dick wondered just how many times Bruce had heard him talking shit about the love of his life, having to keep silent to respect your privacy. His cheeks coloured, remembering the conversation from this morning, where he had claimed that he would never touch you even with a 10-foot pole.
If only he had known that he had been pressed against the same girl so many nights prior.
"Does it matter?" Batman asked, snapping him out of his mortified state where he remembered every single insult he had ever directed at you, either to your face or behind your back.
To anyone else, it would have sounded like a shallow question, but Dick knew his father was concerned about whether his feelings would have changed, whether your identity did matter to him more than your relationship or his love for you.
He swallowed, walking up to your bedside, and gently brushing a strand of hair away from your face and for the first time in his life, he took in all your features. It was startling how quickly his worst enemy became the most beautiful person in the world.
"No, it doesn't."
***
You could see the bright light even though your eyes were shut. There was nothing more you wanted than to slip back into your deep slumber but for some reason your consciousness began trickling back into your head in a gentle stream.
You squirmed, brows pinching together in a frown as you murmured something unintelligible, features twitching until finally your eyes began to flutter open.
"(Y/N)?" You heard and your hand was squeezed by someone you couldn't quite place. Your vision was still quite blurry, and you were extremely disoriented. Still, you tried to blink through the hazy shapes in your sight and you managed to recognize a familiar head of black hair.
"Baby?" You breathed out, sighing in relief when he pressed a kiss to your knuckles, "Thank goodness you're okay."
Right before you had lost consciousness, a thought had flashed into your head. Robin would never abandon you there, no matter what had happened to you, if you had died or just lost consciousness.
You worried that in his effort to stick by you, he'd be hurt or worse.
"Me? (Y/N), you were unconscious for two days! Do you have any idea how worried I've been?!"
If you had been any more conscious, you probably would've been concerned over the way his voice broke in grief and his heartbroken words but in your exhaustion, all you could do was give him a silly smile, wishing your eyes could focus long enough for you to see his beautiful face.
"I'm okay now, I'm okay."
"I didn't think you would be." He confessed, pressing another kiss to your fingertips, holding your hand gingerly but still in a firm grip in between both of his. Like he was scared you'd evaporate and disappear before his eyes.
"I'm okay, baby. Just a little sleepy." You told him, feeling your consciousness slip further and further away as your blinks began to get longer and longer and your strength began to disappear, "You'll be here when I wake up, right?"
He nodded, voice thick with unshed tears even though you couldn't see him, "Yeah. I'll be right here."
***
This time when you woke, you felt much more refreshed than you had before. Your head didn't feel like it was nailed to the pillow anymore, but it felt like you had lead in your veins which was expected considering you had been unconscious for days.
Despite his promise, Robin was nowhere to be found when you finally sat up, stretching your arms as much as you could, careful of the IV in your hand. Your eyes darted around the familiar med-bay, trying to catch a glance of the clock by craning your neck but was ultimately unsuccessful.
Was it a weekday? Was it school hours? Was that why Robin wasn't at your side like you had asked him? What about you? What excuse had Batman given the school to explain your sudden absence? Were your parents aware that you had been injured?
The endless barrage of questions was silenced to a mum when you heard the door slide open and you sighed in relief, noticing the head of black hair first, "I believe you promised to be here when I wo—!"
Dick Grayson was beaming at you and in certain angles of the light, his blue eyes almost looked glossy with tears, but you shook your head unconsciously. Why would he be crying at the sight of you?
'Because you're so ugly the sight is making my eyes water.' Would have been his classic response and you practically rolled your eyes at the thought.
"(Y/N), you're awake!" He took a step closer, and you flinched.
"Stop right there!" He quite literally froze in his steps, he might as well have been encased in ice at the receiving end of your cold glare, "What the hell are you doing here, Grayson?"
He paused and somehow you were annoyed by the dumbfounded look on his face while multiple scenarios ran through your head. A concussion, brain injury or something along that likeness. Perhaps the part of your brain responsible for recognizing faces was damaged and this wasn't actually Dick Grayson. Amnesia, possibly? Maybe you were actually good friends with him but managed to forget it all? Of course, there was always the possibility this was a dream.
Your brow twitched at his lack of response, "I asked you a question."
At your terse tone, it seemed like he was finally able to snap himself out of his stupor, "(Y/N), baby, it's me."
You scowled, "Don't call me that and speak clearly; the hell do you mean by 'me'?"
"Baby," He said again, so firmly that you were silenced in your effort to snap at him again, "It's me."
Dick watched as your face melted from an expression of disgruntled bewilderment to the smallest sliver of recognition. Your eyes raked over his body, only now noticing that he was in short sleeves, and you were able to see the familiar scar on his forearm that belonged to your boyfriend. The little patch of freckles near his elbow that you had traced with your finger so many times before.
Your voice was small when you called him again, "Rob?"
He nodded and your eyes went wide, not quite able to believe it. Your boyfriend stood stiffly, berating himself for not handling this better. He had very quickly gotten over the fact that his girlfriend was his greatest rival in high school while he watched your unconscious face for the past couple of days, waiting for you to wake up.
It had completely slipped his mind that you were still unaware of his identity, and he swallowed nervously. Sure, it was something he could easily put past him but were you the same?
Robin knew you inside and out, he knew how much you loved him, but he didn't know how just much you hated Dick Grayson. Was that hate enough to overpower your love for him?
You stared at him in surprise for only a minute, but it felt like hours to him before you closed your eyes and leaned your head back, "Wow."
"This-This doesn't change anything right?" He began, feeling the lump in his throat grow three sizes larger when you turned to him with an expression that was not a reassuring smile like he had wanted.
"Are you kidding? This changes everything! Barbara is never going to let us hear the end of this. And my friends? Oh, they've hated you ever since that incident during our group presentations." You exclaimed, fingers twitching, and Dick knew it was because you wanted to flail your arms around but couldn't because of the IV.
He bit his lip. You weren't outright rejecting him or anything, but he needed to hear you say it and he needed to hear it as soon as possible.
"No—(Y/N), does this change anything between us?"
You paused, stopping in the middle of your tangent to give him a confused glance, "Between us? No. Why would it?"
And just like that, the tension in his muscles evaporated away and he relaxed, approaching to your side like he wanted to and interlacing your fingers, "I love you."
You finally smiled at him, leaning to kiss his lips, "I love you more, even though you said I was gross and that no one would ever want to date me."
"Well, to be fair you said you'd hope I never did, so I guess we're even."
***
"Hey, stranger." It really didn't make sense that after almost a year of dating, your boyfriend's voice still managed to send shivers down your spine. You closed your locker shut before turning to meet the beautiful blue eyes that you grew to love.
It was scary how quickly you completely rewired your brain into loving every single feature belonging to Dick Grayson.
"Hi, Grayson."
His eyes dipped to your lips for a second, mentally scolding himself for turning to putty the second you said his last name. It was weird how the last time you both were in school together, he thought that the sound of his name coming from your mouth was like nails on a chalkboard.
Now, he felt like he had been blessed just by being in your presence.
"I have all the assignments and notes that you missed the past week." You had been ordered bed rest and some physiotherapy to regain complete mobility after being unconscious for a couple of days. Under your boyfriend's watchful care, he had dutifully nursed you back to health.
You smiled when he handed you the stack of papers even though the heft of it made you want to cry. All this work from just a week? All the AP classes you had been taking in order to compete with your own boyfriend had come back to bite you in the ass.
"Thank you. Can I come over later so you can help me out with it?"
It was really a formality that you were asking because you both knew he was obviously going to say yes. But you figured you'd do the polite thing and ask the first time. After today though his room would practically be yours, just as your room would now be his personal hideout.
"Of course, baby. I've been dying to introduce you to Alfred. We can go back to mine together after school."
You nodded, starting when you heard the bell, "I have Physics." You bemoaned, it being the only class Dick didn't take with you. He had opted for a language instead, which you were beginning to think was more useful than whatever you learnt anyway.
He gave you a smile, eyes twinkling when he slanted his lips over yours in a soft kiss and you had to pull away quickly before you forgot just where you were.
His disappointed pout was all too quick to disappear when you reminded him that you'd be going home with him that day, "I'll see you later."
The two of you parted ways with delirious smiles, feeling too much like you were wafting on cloud nine, completely unbeknownst to the small crowd of people that watching your entire interaction with wide eyes.
Barbara, who was stood at the centre of the flock, smirked, and held out her hand, "Pay up bitches."
***
Bonus:
"I'm surprised you didn't figure out her identity earlier, Dick. Aren't you supposed to be a great detective?" Wally teased and your boyfriend rolled his eyes.
"It's not that I couldn't find out, I just didn't try."
"How come?"
He spared you a glance and shrugged, "She asked me not to."
"I don't remember you offering me the same consideration." Artemis sniped but he knew it was all in good nature.
"You aren't nearly as pretty." He replied coolly, making you blush.

Frozen Heart (Part 16)
TW: yandere behaviour, infantilism.
Bruce sat you next to him during breakfast, trying to feed you pancakes. He was probably just loving that your arm was broken, judging by the smirk on his face.
"You are doing such a good job of eating your breakfast," Bruce cooed.
"Not interested in being Daddy's favourite, but thanks," you snark, in between mouthfuls. "Wouldn't want to take Damian's spot."
"You think Damian's my favourite?" Bruce asked.
"He's your mini-me. He's cold and heartless, like you. When I see you, I see him, and when I see him, I see you. He is yours."
Damian stared down at his cereal. This was part of the reason why you didn't like him. He reminded you of the father that didn't give you the time of day. Then again, the stuff he had done didn't help. If only he could do this again, redo the time he had with you again. He could be the sweet little brother that defended you from mean paparazzi and asked to take naps in your room. You were in need of care.
"Here you go, Y/N," Damian said, offering you a cookie. You picked it up and sniffed it.
"Is this poisoned?" you asked.
Damian's jaw fell open. Dick, Jason, and Tim snickered quietly behind you. "No, Y/N. I didn't tamper with the cookie," Damian promised.
"Then why did you give it to me? Is there a razor blade? A kid at my school shoved thumb tacks into an apple and gave it to me. Did you give me thumb tacks inside a cookie?"
Nobody was laughing now. This was a rare insight into your life and outlook, the sad one that they now got heartbreaking glimpses into. "No, Y/N, there are no thumbtacks or any sharp objects. It's OK to eat it," Damian promised.
"Y/N, would you like me to check what's inside your cookie?" Duke asked. "One of my powers is X-ray vision. If there's something wrong, I'll see it."
Your eyes grew wide. "You can do that?"
"Of course. But if you don't want me to-"
"Please check it!" You all but thrust the cookie into his hands. "I trust you, Duke."
The rest of the table struggled to split their attention between you and Duke, heads moving like the spectators at a tennis match. Duke was able to look at you without you scowling, touch you without you flinching away, and now he was trusted with your food.
They were going to kill him.
*_*_*_*_*_
Duke whistled as he left your room. You were doing such a good job of trusting him. Today, you were trusting him with a cookie. But soon, you would trust him with everything.
"We need to talk," Dick said. Duke turned around to see Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, Cass, Steph, Barbara, and Bruce behind him. They all looked murderous.
"Can I help you?" Duke asked.
"What did you do to Y/N? You need to tell us what you did to have them want you around," Dick said. "I've been trying so hard and they're reduced me to tears twice!"
"They smiled at you, Duke," Damian said. "They trusted you with food. They don't fear or hate you or resent you."
"Duke." Bruce's voice came in clearly, making everyone else quiet down "Y/N seems interested in your powers. Are you using your powers to entice them or take advantage of them?"
Duke scoffed. "You're way overthinking it. I just made myself into a safe, non-crazy person so they would trust me and ask for me. I don't play detective or therapist, I just . . . soothed them. You guys have been full-on and all in, and it's scaring them."
Alfred walked by with arms laden with snacks. Your favourites. "Master Duke, Y/N wants to see you in their room. They said that they wanted to see the pretty spirals again."
"I have to go," Duke said. "Y/N wants me."
Duke left them all where they stood, seething with rage. He wiped the smug look off his face before he went to see you, though.
"There you are!" Duke smiled, as you giggled. "Wanna eat snacks together?"
"Yeah!" You were conscious of your smiles at Duke, but you couldn't help it. You'd never had a big brother before, and it was so much fun!
"Say aah," Duke warbled, bringing a snack to your lips. You opened your mouth, accepting the sweet treat without hesitation. "Sweet child, oh I love you so!"
"Huh?" You raised a confused eyebrow; why was Duke calling you sweet? But you went with it; Duke was harmless.
"Oh, you are so good and so cute. I'm going to put you into these blankets and make sure you don't get sick." Duke wrapped you in blankets, so tightly that you could not move the few parts of your body that weren't broken. You didn't care, though. Your big brother was looking after you and it felt so good.
"I want you to look after me, Duke, not them," you said. "They're so suffocating."
Duke smiled. "That makes so much sense, little one."
"Hello, Y/N," Damian said, dragging a blanket in with him. "What are you doing here with Duke?"
"Taking a nap," you said.
"Good. So am I," Damian said. "I will stay with you for the duration of this nap."
"No thanks, Damian. I try to avoid seeing you just before sleeping, because it infects my sleep and I have nightmares about failed exorcisms and dogs chasing me down hallways that stretch away from me," you said.
Duke bit his tongue, but Damian still saw a smirk retreat from the metahuman's face. "I'll make sure he doesn't face you," he soothed.
"That would be nice," you said.
Damian panicked. "Y/N, I need to make sure you're OK! I can't leave you alone with Duke and Alfred! I'm your blood sibling!"
"You didn't care about that when you were spilling my blood. Go have your nap in another room."
One minute, Damian was in your room. The next minute, the little hellspawn was outside like any dog. You smiled into your blanket.
"Thank you, Duke," you said.
"You're welcome, little one. You can take your little naps in peace," Duke said. "Any worries you have? Need anything?"
"No," you said, as your breathing evened out. "Thank you so much."
*_*_*_*_*_
Duke left the door to your room open and allowed your father and siblings to look at your sleeping form. "You denied me of this picture of innocence," Damian said. "If I could kill you without making a sound that wakes Y/N, I would do it without a second thought."
"So cute," Dick said, already tearing up.
"I know," Stephanie said. "When will it be our turn? Duke is hogging them."
"I just responded when they asked for me," Duke said, pouring salt into open wounds.
"Great. How are we supposed to make that happen, Duke?" Tim demanded. "Y/N hates us. Like, really hates us."
"Make yourselves useful," Duke said. "Y/N will tolerate you if they need you. Make them need you. Give yourselves a job and don't go overboard. Don't just go in asking for snuggles and giving out pet names."
"If we need jobs to be in Y/N's life, then we can do that," Bruce said. "I had thought that being their daddy was enough, but clearly I need more leverage. That is certainly doable."

------
You decided to go to New York Fantasy Con alone. New city, new start, and the perfect place to meet fellow nerds who shared your love for all things sci-fi and fantasy.
You weren’t looking for anything more than a fun day of geeking out, debating space battles, and admiring top-tier cosplay.
One moment, you were adjusting your belt as Crewman Number Six, your uniform pristine, your perpetually wary I-know-exactly-how-this-ends expression firmly in place, and the next, you were nearly toppling over a very solid, very well-dressed Gandalf.
——
The day was filled with the unexpected.
The con was the perfect place to disappear, everyone in costume, no one staring, no one whispering. He was just another guy in robes and a fake beard.
Who’d walked in feeling lighter than he had in months.
And then you barreled into his life. Literally.
His staff clattered to the floor as he reached out with lighting fast reflexes, strong hands gripping your arms to steady you.
“My apologies,” he said, fully in character, though amusement danced behind the accent.
“I should know better than to block the path of a brave and noble…” His sharp blue eyes flicked over your uniform. “…expendable crew member?”
Galaxy Quest. Classic. His favorite.
“I prefer unsung hero, but sure.”
Your quick wit made him grin, and then you laughed a warm and genuine laugh. Something about the sound made him feel warm inside.
From there, it was easy. You two clicked. Effortlessly.
Hours passed in a blur of banter, debates, and sly glances. You argued about the physics of warp drive, whispered snark about questionable cosplay choices, and shared his soft pretzel without hesitation, even if he definitely hadn’t offered it at first.
Gandalf, as it turned out, was oddly possessive of his snacks. But once you stole the first piece, he started handing them over willingly, eyes on you every time you took a bite.
He just couldn’t stop staring because you were stunning, and not just in the obvious way.
It was the way you moved, like you belonged there. Like you knew exactly who you were and weren’t afraid to take up space.
And in way your uniform hugged your body, tailored just right to fit every curve, walking the line between adorable and dangerously distracting.
He was stupidly attracted to you. Cosplay or not.
You in that uniform, beaming and fearless, practically walking through the con so unassuming yet confident?
Yeah, that was doing things to him.
He noticed the way your eyes flicked toward him when you thought he wasn’t looking. And also the way your smile deepened when you caught him watching. The way you leaned in a little closer every time he spoke was magnetic.
You were flirting. Hard.
And he liked it. Too much.
And that was the problem.
Because you didn’t know who he was.
You thought he was just some guy in a good Gandalf cosplay. You were flirting with that guy. Not Bucky Barnes.
Not the name, or the past, or the weight that came with it.
He should’ve kept his distance.
But he didn’t.
And on your side?
You had no idea what this man looked like.
Tall, yes.
Broad, clearly.
That voice, a warm tenor, and with a hint of rasp, was borderline unfair.
And those eyes. Icy blue, too intelligent to be just cosplay.
But still. Long grey beard. Hat. Layers of wizard robes. His entire being was a mystery.
And yet you were attracted to him. Nonsensically so.
When the crowd got thick, he let his hand find the small of your back and guided you through.
He could’ve let go when the aisle cleared, but he didn’t. Not right away. Not when you felt that warm and solid against him. Not when his brain was full of you and your goddamn perfect laugh.
The electricity was ridiculous.
And maybe you let yourself lean back into his touch just a little.
You told yourself it wasn’t a big deal. You flirted all the time, right? It didn’t mean anything.
Except you wanted it to mean something. The connection felt too easy. Too real. And that scared you more than the mystery.
Who was this guy?
You didn’t know his name, didn’t know what he looked like under the layers, and still… you were into him.
Really into him.
Which was why, when the con ended and you stepped out into the fading light of Manhattan, neither of you were ready for it to be over.
“Well, Gandalf,” you teased, “it’s been fun. Remember: Never Give Up, Never Surrender!”
He let out a sexy chuckle, but he hesitated, glancing toward the subway entrance, weighing something in his mind. Then, before he could second-guess himself, he spoke.
“You wanna grab dinner after this?”
You smiled up at him.
“But we had such a good time today. I don’t wanna mess it up.”
His lips curved upwards.
“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
You snorted.
“Smooth for a 2,000-year-old wizard.”
You narrowed your eyes playfully.
“Are you asking me out, Gandalf?”
He hesitated. That was the moment. He could’ve kept the beard on. Could’ve let you keep thinking he was just another guy with decent taste in pretzels and fantasy quotes. It was refreshing, getting to be just a guy, instead of a name, a history, a headline.
But if this was going anywhere, you deserved to know.
“I’m only 108,” he said dryly, then added. “And yeah. I think I know when I’m asking someone on a date.”
You choked on air.
“I’m sorry. What?”
He sighed, reaching up to hook his fingers into the fake beard. Slowly, he peeled it away, along with the expertly applied wrinkles.
Your eyes widened. Holy. Shit.
What remained wasn’t just some random guy in a killer cosplay.
It was Bucky Barnes.
Bucky saw the realization hit you. He braced himself, waiting for the change. The flicker of recognition and wariness, the oh, the backpedaling. It always happened.
“You probably figured it out before, but… yeah. When people recognize me, they, uh… sometimes change their minds. About me.”
For a long second, you just stared. Then, your lips curved.
“I didn’t know. And my mind is… not changed.”
You grinned, shaking your head.
“You’re alright, Barnes. I mean, I’ve spent all afternoon with you, and you’ve been kind, funny, and genuinely one of the best parts of today. That doesn’t just disappear because you’re also kind of a big deal.”
You looked around, lowering your voice.
“To be honest. I was in it for the beard.”
Bucky blinked, then laughed quietly. He looked surprised, like he didn’t expect you to still be standing there.
“Well, if that’s what did it, I could’ve just kept it on.”
You were still here. Still flirting.
Your eyes swept over him. The mystery was gone, but the pull remained.
Stronger now.
“Yeah,” you said. “But you’re not so bad without it.”
His gaze flicked to your mouth, then back to your eyes. He was still cautious, and still wondering if this was real.
But you weren’t pulling away.
“Well,” he murmured, voice lower now, “guess I better make sure our date’s as good as the con, huh?”
You bumped his shoulder.
“You better. No pressure, though.”
No pressure.
Except for the fact that for the first time in a long time he actually wanted this to go right.
And you kept thinking: Damn. I think I actually really like this guy.
—-
The restaurant was small and warm, just cozy enough to forget you were in the middle of Manhattan. Bucky picked a booth near the back, the kind of spot with a clear view of the door.
Classic.
You didn’t call him on it. Just leaned on your elbows and watched him over the rim of your drink. That fucking uniform of your was getting him hard.
“So you didn’t wanna be recognized,” you mused. “Cool.”
You sipped slowly, licking a drop from your lip with deliberate nonchalance. Bucky’s eyes dropped. And didn’t stop at your mouth. He snapped his gaze back up quickly however, jaw tight.
Oh yeah. He was so fucked. He wanted to fuck.
You tilted your head, smiling like you knew exactly what you were doing.
“But Gandalf isn't just any old man,” you said, voice light. “He’s wise, powerful...”
You traced a finger around your glass. His eyes followed the motion, slow and unblinking. Bucky clenched his jaw, visibly struggling.
“…respected. Worshipped, even.”
Bucky swallowed hard. His fingers flexed around his glass, then curled into a fist.
You leaned in.
“Bucky, you’ve been staring at me for the past twenty minutes.”
You tapped the side of your glass.
“Is this a wizard thing, or are you always like this?”
He cleared his throat again. He was always like this.
But you…were different.
“I…”
He cut himself off, jaw clenching. He knew that you knew that he was struggling, and what he was struggling with. And that made him even weaker for you.
You enjoyed making him squirm. And he liked it. Too much. Way too much.
Jesus, what were you doing to him?
Bucky huffed a weak laugh, shaking his head. His eyes flicked to your lips again and this time, he didn’t look away as fast.
“I didn’t mean to.” He paused.
You’re just so fucking hot.
You grinned. Wicked.
“And here I thought it was some kind of kink.”
Bucky choked on his drink.
Your smile turned gleeful as you sat up straighter, pressing forward just enough to make him very aware of what was beneath your uniform. He was staring. Again.
“Oh my God,” you lit up, delighted. “Was I right?”
He coughed, his ears pink, and glared at you over his glass.
He was so cute when he was flustered.
“No.”
You arched an eyebrow.
“You sure? You did say you’re an old man.”
Bucky’s jaw ticked. Your grin only widened
You were having too much fun. It was like a game of cat and mouse, and dammit, he was the fucking mouse.
Then, just to test something, you dragged your fingers up and down the stem of your wine glass.
He shifted, breath hitching. And you knew.
Oh, you knew. You knew what was happening under that table. You imagined, correctly, that he was hard as a rock.
“Oh,” you whispered, delighted. “You like this.”
His metal fingers gripped the table edge.
“Doll,” he said, low and warning.
But that just made you smile.
“You’ve been looking at me all day like you want to do something,” you murmured, watching his throat bob as he swallowed hard.
“So why are you holding back?”
Bucky rubbed his jaw. Discipline. Control. You could see him straining for it.
“Because I like you,” he admitted, voice gruff.
Oh.
oh
Something in your chest tightened. Because that was real.
You stared at him for a beat, the energy arcing between you, but now it wasn’t just pure physical attraction.
“Bucky,” you said, voice softer now.
He lifted his gaze to you, blue eyes dark and hungry.
“I like that you’re holding back,” you said slowly.
“Because it means that when you don’t…”
You leaned in just a fraction.
“...it’s gonna be worth it.”
Bucky let out a breath like he’d been punched.
And then he smiled slowly,a new knowledge coming into his eyes now that he knew where your head was at. He stood, tossing a few bills on the table.
“We better get outta here, Doll.”
And you didn’t hesitate. You followed.
—-----
The night air should’ve cooled the heat simmering between you and Bucky, but it didn’t. Not even close.
The restaurant had been one thing, but now it was just the two of you, walking side by side down the New York street, the hum of the city around you.
Bucky hadn’t touched you, not once.
But you’d felt him all over you nonetheless. You felt him in the way his shoulder brushed yours when you walked too close. In the twitch of his fingers, like he was one second from grabbing your hand.
Or your waist.
Or your throat.
“Y’know,” you murmured, breaking the silence, “you don’t have to be so disciplined.”
Bucky laughed quietly.
“Doll.”
“What?”
“You know what.”
You peered up at him innocently.
“I really don’t.”
Bucky stopped walking.
You did too, turning to face him. He was really looking at you now, his jaw tight, eyes dark.
“You think I don’t wanna touch you?”
His voice had some longing in it.
“That I don’t wanna pin you against that wall right now and see how many ways I can make you say my name?”
Oh.
Oh, fuck.
“But,” he continued, voice still measured, still controlled,
“I don’t wanna do this wrong.” His metal hand flexed. “Not with you.”
Something in your chest fluttered at that, a warmth different from the heat between your legs.
“You wouldn’t be,” you murmured.
He shook his head, staring down at the sidewalk.
“I want you too much, Doll.”
Then he looked back up at you, hitting you with those baby blues.
“And that’s dangerous for me.”
“Well,” you murmured, stepping closer, “maybe I like a little danger.”
His hand twitched. The struggle was written all over him. So you tipped the scale. You reached out and brushed your fingers over his metal wrist gently. Cool vibranium met warm skin.
Bucky inhaled sharply.
Then, slowly, his fingers curled around yours. Testing. Then gripping.
You bit your lip.
“Doll,” he warned.
You looked up at him, so alluring.
“Soldier.”
His breath caught. Then he stepped into you. Still not touching, but so close. The heat of him soaked through your skin.
You licked your lips, and Bucky’s gaze dropped.
“Fuck,” he breathed.
Then he kissed you. Barely. Just a brush. Light enough to make you chase it.
The spark could’ve lit up Manhattan.
He pulled back an inch, staring into your eyes like he was trying to memorize you.
You could barely breathe. You wanted his hands. His mouth. His weight. You wanted him unleashed.
But Bucky was still trying to be good.
He lifted his flesh hand, skimming your jaw.
“I’m trying to be a gentleman,” he rasped.
You tilted your chin, pressing into his palm.
“What if I don’t want you to be?”
His eyes turned molten blue.
And then,his phone buzzed.
He just stood there, breathing hard, before letting out a rough, frustrated laugh.
“Guess the universe wants me to behave.”
You smirked. “For now.”
Bucky met your gaze, lust flashing behind his eyes.
------
Somehow you made it to your place and the tension hadn’t lessened. It had evolved.
When you closed the front door behind you, Bucky snapped.
You turned to face him and he was there, pinning you to the door before you could even inhale. His metal arm slammed against the wood beside your head with a soft thud, and the other cradled your jaw, rough and tender all at once as his mouth crashed into yours.
No hesitation. No restraint. Just need.
You gasped, and he took the opportunity to deepen the kiss, tongue sliding against yours, slow but demanding. He kissed like a man who’d been starved for years and finally got his first bite.
And God, you tasted so good.
When he pulled back, his pupils were blown wide, chest heaving.
“You have no idea what you’ve been doing to me,” he rasped.
You smirked, breathless as your fingers found the hardness in his jeans.
“I have some idea.”
His eyes darkened.
“You think this is a game?”
His voice dropped, low and dangerous. His thumb brushed your bottom lip, slow and firm, pressing just enough to make your breath catch.
You looked up at him through your lashes, heart hammering.
“Is it not?”
“That’s it,” Bucky growled.
One second you were against the door, the next you were being lifted, your legs wrapping around his waist as he carried you like you weighed nothing. Your back hit the wall, his mouth finding the column of your throat. He kissed, licked, and bit, not enough to leave marks, not yet, but enough to make you whimper.
“Still wanna play?” he murmured against your skin.
“Yes,” you breathed, because you were nothing if not committed.
Bucky’s mouth crashed back to yours and his hand found the underside of your thigh and squeezed. His metal hand skimmed your waist, the cold kiss of it against your hot skin making you gasp.
“You want me to lose control?” he asked, lips trailing down your jaw, across your collarbone. You moaned, arching into him.
“Yes, Soldier. Bedroom is over there,” you pointed weakly, then your hands returned to his shoulders.
Bucky grinned against you, cocky now.
“Good girl.”
He walked you to the bedroom, never breaking contact. You were clawing at his jacket, his shirt. You needed to feel skin, metal, him. You didn’t care about slow or gentle anymore. You just wanted him.
He dropped you onto the bed and stood over you for a beat, chest rising and falling like he’d run a marathon. His hair was a mess, lips kiss-bitten, eyes blazing.
You sat up slightly, supported on your elbows, and tilted your head.
“Well?”
Bucky reached for his shirt, peeled it off in one smooth motion, and let it drop to the floor.
You swallowed hard. Good lord. Scars. Muscle. Metal. History. He was so hot.
Bucky climbed onto the bed until he was hovering over you, mouth brushing your ear.
“You’re not ready for what I wanna do to you,” he whispered.
“Shut up and take your pants off,” you whispered back.
When he did, your eyes went wide.
"Is that Grabthar's Hammer?"
He laughed softly. Then he kissed you again. This time, there was no more teasing.
You were laid out naked beneath Bucky like something sacred, flushed and panting, the room thick with your scent.
Buckhy knelt between your legs, jaw tight, fists clenched like he was still holding himself back even now. His chest rose and fell, a man at war with his self-control. You shifted, your naked cunt calling to him and his eyes dropped instantly.
And then he broke.
Bucky dragged you closer like he’d been starving for this. He kissed your stomach slowly first, before biting just beneath your ribs, then moved lower. You gasped, your fingers threading into his hair.
“You still sure you want this?” he rasped against your skin, voice barely human.
You laughed breathlessly, tugging his face up so you could look him dead in the eye.
“If you don’t wreck me, old man, I’m gonna be pissed.”
That did it.
Bucky smirked, and then placed a kiss on your bare mound. Then, his mouth trailed lower, and gently kissed your clit as your eyes rolled and your nipples became even stiffer mountain peaks. Those ice blue eyes held yours captive as he flattened his tongue and licked a disrespectful stripe up the split of you.
When Bucky finally tasted you, he moaned. A low, guttural sound that made your toes curl.
And he didn’t stop. He devoured. He licked into you, fucking you with his tongue, and pulling on your clit like it was saltwater taffy.
His hands pinned your hips down, metal unforgiving, flesh impossibly warm, like he was trying to memorize the exact shape of you against his palms.
You were already close, embarrassingly close, because this wasn’t just sex; it was a seal to your connection. This was the shit.
Bucky touched you like you were precious and filthy. And he looked at you like he wanted to worship and destroy you in the same breath.
When he slipped two fingers inside you, metal, cold and smooth, your back arched and a broken moan escaped your lips. His mouth didn’t stop. His rhythm didn’t falter. He was focused, like this was a mission, and your pleasure was the only thing on the damn agenda.
“Bucky,” you gasped, hand clutching at his hair, “I’m—”
“I know, I can taste it. Smell it,” he said, voice gravel and heat between your thighs.
“Be good. Let me feel you come on my face.”
You did. Oh god you did.
You shattered, mouth open in a silent scream, thighs trembling around his head. Bucky didn’t stop, even as your body shook, even as it sounded like you’d forgotten how to breathe. He slowed, sure, but only just enough to guide you down from the edge.
He looked up, chin slick, eyes feral. Then he crawled up your body and kissed you, letting you taste yourself on his tongue.
“You okay?” he whispered, brushing your curls back from your damp forehead, voice suddenly soft again.
“I think I saw Sauron," you blinked up at him, dazed.
"What about you?"
He chuckled darkly.
"A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he cums precisely when he means to."
"I don't think that's the quote... oh fuccckkkk!"
Bucky moved with no warning, just a low, “Fuck, Doll,” before he lined himself up and slid in.
Your breath caught like a prayer.
He was big. Thick. Harder than steel and twice as punishing. He bottomed out slow, but deep, like he needed you to feel every inch of him.
And you could.
Your hands flew to his back, nails digging into muscle as he held still, forehead pressed to yours, breathing heavy.
“You okay?” he asked again, but his voice was strained now, like he wasn’t.
“Better than okay,” you breathed, clenching around him on purpose.
His control cracked.
He snapped his hips forward.
And that was it.
The end of the gentleman.
The death of restraint.
All that carefully held discipline gone, replaced with something primal.
Something desperate.
He fucked you.
Slow at first. Deep. Every stroke angled just right, like he’d mapped you out in his mind and memorized exactly what made you tremble.
Then faster. Harder. Hips slamming into yours, head buried in your neck, one hand gripping your thigh to keep you exactly where he wanted you.
“Jesus,” Bucky growled, “You feel like fuckin’ heaven.”
You moaned something back, maybe his name, maybe nonsense, and he grinned, all teeth and hunger and male pride.
“Say it again.”
“Bucky…”
“No,” he rasped, grabbing your chin, making you look at him.
“Say what I am.”
You whimpered, broken and breathless.
“Soldier.”
His rhythm stuttered. And then he wrecked you. No finesse now. Just power.
Just pure, relentless, possessive need. Skin slapping, bed shaking, your name falling from his lips like a litany.
You clawed at his back. Bit his shoulder. He loved it. Ate it up. Drove deeper, harder, until your legs were numb and your voice was hoarse from screaming his name.
And when you came again, a fucking detonation, he followed you with a moan that sounded like it could crack the walls. You felt him pulse spray inside you, hot and endless, as he collapsed against you with a groan.
Silence. Except for breathing. His, ragged and heavy. Yours, shaky and stunned.
He didn’t move right away. Just kissed your shoulder. Your collarbone. The corner of your mouth.
“Still with me?” he murmured.
You blinked up at him, eyes glassy.
“I never want you be a gentleman again.”
Bucky laughed, low and pleased.
“You haven’t even seen me misbehave yet.”
You barely had time to breathe.
Bucky didn’t even pull out. Still buried to the hilt, somehow still hard and already rolling his hips again, slower this time, more deliberate. Testing.
Your overstimulated body jerked at the sensation, a whimper escaping your lips.
He grinned against your throat.
“Oh, look at that,” he murmured, voice dark silk. “Sensitive.”
You tried to answer, tried to say something, but then he drew back just enough to thrust again, deep and slow, and your brain short-circuited. Your back arched off the bed, hands scrambling for anything to anchor yourself.
Bucky just watched you hungrily. He was fascinated.
He held himself up on one arm, the other drifting slowly down your body, metal fingers grazing your throat, your chest, down to your belly, resting right where the head of his cock pushed up from the inside.
“Right here,” he whispered, pressing just enough to make you feel it.
“You feel that, sweetheart?”
You nodded, dazed, lips parted.
He moved again. A slow grind, a deep roll. And the pressure made you gasp.
“God,” you breathed.
Bucky smirked, leaning in to kiss the corner of your mouth.
“Nah. Not God.”
He shifted his weight, grabbed your thigh, and flipped you without warning.
You let out a shocked cry as he pulled your hips up, chest pressed into the mattress, and entered you from behind in one smooth thrust that had you biting the pillow.
The new angle was devastating.
He set a punishing rhythm, hands gripping your hips. His hands, one warm and flesh, the other cold and unrelenting vibranium, held you in place like you were his to claim.
“You said no more gentleman,” he rasped, panting as he fucked into you harder.
“You sure you can handle that, Doll?”
You sobbed out something that sounded like yes.
He chuckled wickedly.
Then one hand slid up your spine, between your shoulder blades, curling into your hair to tug your head back just enough to hear him growl in your ear.
“You look so fuckin’ pretty like this, ruined.”
You clenched around him, and he groaned, hips stuttering.
“Oh, you like that, huh?”
His teeth scraped your neck.
“Like it when I talk to you like this? Like you’re mine?”
You were beyond answering now, every nerve ending lit up, your body already climbing again. How was this possible?
As he fucked you through the aftermath of the last orgasm straight into the next.
Then you felt it.
His metal hand slipped between your legs, finding your clit with devastating precision.
“Gonna come for me again, sweetheart?” he whispered.
“Gonna soak my cock like a good girl?”
You screamed when you did, your entire body locking up, shaking under him, pulsing around him so hard that he nearly lost control.
He held on just long enough to groan your name, slamming into you one final time before coming with a shudder so intense it nearly brought him to his knees.
After, he collapsed beside you, dragging you back against his chest with an arm wrapped tight around your waist, breathing hot against your skin.
“Still don’t want me to be a gentleman?” he murmured, smug and breathless.
You couldn’t even speak, hadn’t even caught your breath.
You were still trembling, your thighs slick and shaking, your mind floating somewhere between pleasure-drunk and completely wrecked.
And Bucky?
Bucky hadn’t moved far. Still pressed against your back, one arm locked tight around your waist, chest rising and falling against your shoulder blades. But his hard cock was nudging against your inner thigh again.
You were realizing what the term supersoldier meant. You were wrecked but he wasn’t even tired.
“You’re insatiable,” you managed to rasp, voice half-muffled by the sheets.
He nuzzled into your neck, chuckling low.
“Says the one who begged for it.”
You turned your head, just enough to meet his eyes, and smirked.
“I didn’t beg.”
Bucky raised a brow. “No?”
Then he rolled his hips, sliding his cock between your thighs again without fully entering, just letting you feel the weight of him.
Heavy. Christ, his cock was so deliciously heavy.
Your breath caught.
“No,” you repeated, but this time it wasn’t convincing.
“Mmm,” he murmured, kissing your shoulder.
“I think you did beg. Might’ve even said please, if I remember right.”
“Lies,” you whispered, but the way you arched back into him gave you away.
And Bucky grinned.
“Alright then, Doll,” he breathed, shifting to grip your hips again, “if you’re not gonna beg…”
Then he slid inside again, slow and torturous into your abused hole.
“…guess I’ll just fuck it out of you.”
You moaned, your back arching, and Bucky didn’t even give you time to adjust. He just started moving, deep and slow at first, rolling his hips so that every stroke dragged perfectly against your walls.
You were oversensitive, your body already spent, but somehow this was worse.
Or better.
You couldn’t tell. You felt everything.
Bucky leaned over you, chest to your back again, the heat of him covering you completely. One hand tangled in your hair, pulling your head to the side so he could mouth at your throat.
The other slipped under you and of course he found your clit again.
“Let’s see if I can make you beg now,” he murmured, thumb pressing just right.
You cried out.
“Still not beggin’, huh?” he rasped.
“Not even a little?”
You whimpered, thighs trembling.
“Baby,” he growled in your ear, “you’re fuckin’ soaked. I can feel you dripping down my balls. And you’re gonna lie to me?”
You tried. You tried to sass him. But then he hit that angle and rubbed just right and —
“Fuck! Please! Bucky!”
There it was.
He smiled against your skin, triumphant.
“There’s my good girl.”
Then he flipped you again, barely pulling out before he was slamming back in with enough force to shake the headboard. Your legs wrapped around his waist, your nails raked down his back, and Bucky groaned, burying his face against your neck.
His voice was ragged now.
“You feel so fuckin’ good, goddamn can’t get enough of you, can’t let you go…this is not just one night…”
You were gone. Spiraling. You didn’t even know what number this was anymore.
Orgasm or round, you’d lost count.
But Bucky knew.
He always knew.
“Come for me again,” he ordered, hand cupping the back of your neck as his hips pounded into yours.
“I want you to fall apart while I’m still inside you.”
And you did.
You shattered around him, one last scream torn from your throat, and that was what finally dragged Bucky over the edge. He came with a groan, deep and raw, spilling inside you as he gripped you like he never wanted to let go.
—-
Minutes passed. Maybe hours. Time stopped meaning anything.
Eventually, you blinked up at him, hair askew cheeks flushed, throat hoarse.
“…You’re an evil wizard,” you croaked.
Bucky just smirked, brushing your hair back and blowing cool air on you. You closed your eyes and smiled at the tender gesture.
“You started it, crewman.”
You laughed weakly, burying your face in his chest.
“…Worth it.”
Bucky kissed the top of your head and held you closer.
“Damn right it was.”

How’d you like it? 😇

Billie Eilish x afab!reader
‼️18+ content‼️
‼️Warnings: use of ‘mommy’, strap-on, oral, oral fixation, outside s3x, bottom!Billie, Top!reader‼️

.~*________________________________________*~.
The dirt road sounded gritty and dusty beneath the tires. The truck bumped gently up the hill, engine humming softly. “Are we even allowed up here?” Billie questioned as a gate came into view. “Wouldn’t direct you here if we weren’t.” Y/N spoke with a playful snark, stepping out of the car for a moment to unlock the gate and push it open. She let Billie through before bolting the gate shut again.
As they drove to the top of the hill, Y/N gently stroked Billie’s thigh, gentle enough to be affectionate but lingering enough to suggest something below the surface. “You can go stand by that tree, lemme park.”Y/N told her, nodding to a tree just off the path. Billie hopped out of the truck, obediently moving to wait by the tree, leaning against the bark. She watched her partner park, a soft smile on her lips. Y/N opened up the truck bed where pillows and blankets had been laid out. She gestured for Billie to follow as she got into the truck bed, settling down.
the girls laid down together, eating snacks and taking sips of each other’s drinks. The sun began to set, casting a romantic mix pink and orange hues over their faces. “It’s beautiful.” Billie breathed out, lips parting slightly in awe at the sight. “I’m glad you like it.” Y/N stroked her hair gently as Billie rested her cheek against her shoulder. The beams of sunlight began to dance between the silhouettes of buildings as the sun sunk lower. Billie let out a soft gasp as she felt lips on her neck. She let out an appreciative hum, feeling a hand slide under her shirt.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, Billie.” Y/N hummed against her lips, tongue sliding into Billie’s parted lips. The kiss was passionate dripping with love and appreciation. Billie slowly allowed herself to fall back into the pillows set out on the truck bed, her girlfriend leaning over to access her lips. Their kiss grew needy, Billie feeling heat build in her abdomen. The pop star settled herself in the blankets and pillows, lifting her arms so her shirt could slide over her head. She clumsily unclasped her bra, discarding it blindly, not noticing as it went over the side of the truck into the grass. She gasped as lips instantly attached to her nipple. The wind brushed against them, making Billie shiver, goosebumps sliding down her arms. The dark haired girl let out pathetic whines as Y/N teased her bud, licking and sucking just enough to get her excited.
She watched with parted lips as Y/N kissed down her body. She lifted her hips, helping her shorts ease down her legs. “Fuck- don’t tease.” She whined as two digits firmly pressed against her panties. “You’re not in a place to make orders.” Billie pouted at that, helplessly bucking her hips. “Please…please, mommy.” She gasped. “That’s the magic word.”
Billie squirmed as her underwear rolled down her legs. It wasn’t long before those perfect lips she adored so much were pressed to her clit, soft licks rolling through her folds. She gasped, arching her back. She shivered at the cold metal of rings pressing against her hips to keep her still. She spread her legs slowly, squirming as her partner forced her down, devouring her like she was her final meal. She moaned as Y/N slid two fingers into her drooling pussy. “Oh~ there…mmph! Like that…” she breathed out, letting her head fall back against a plush pillow placed perfectly behind her. “Right there, mommy.” She whimpered as the fingers curled in the perfect way, hitting her g-spot. Billie moaned, listening to the wet sounds of her lover’s fingers pumping in and out of her heat. She could feel her heart rate pick up, feel her breathing become ragged and form pathetic pants. “No…” she whined as her girlfriend pulled away completely. She bit her lip, watching as she licked her fingers clean. “C’mere, baby.” Y/N grabbed Billie’s wrist, pressing her palm to her jeans. Her pants had ridden down, revealing the black harness she wore. Billie’s breath hitched, though she couldn’t tell if it was nerves or excitement.
She sat up, hands shaky as they undid the buttons and zipper of her girlfriend’s jeans. She nibbled at her lip, impatience clawing at her as she tugged the woman’s boxers down. “C’mere, honey. Gonna suck on it for mommy, hm?” The taller woman husked pushing Billie’s hair behind her ears. “Mhmm.” Billie nodded quickly, holding the base of the strap as she guided her lips around the tip. Y/N looked so elegant, so powerful. She was watching Billie with darkened eyes, sitting back, elbows resting on the edge of the truck bed. Billie slowly took more of the toy into her mouth, bobbing her head slowly as she rolled her tongue. Crickets chirped in the bushes nearby, the soft rustle of the wind passing through undergrowth and the sound of Billie’s teeth scraping the rubber paired with the slick sound of her spit created a lewd harmony, smothering the innocence of nature around the couple.
Billie was getting impatient, the feeling clawing in her abdomen. She rubbed her thighs together, slick sliding down her thighs. She bobbed her head, tongue stroking the underside of the toy as she pushed herself further. She squeezed her eyes shut, gagging slighting and gargling on her own spit. She let out a hum of gratitude as her partner pulled her off by her hair. She caught her breath, licking her lips and breaking the string of saliva hanging from her lips to the tip of the strap.“Lay down.” Y/N’s tone was husky, she was clearly as needy as Billie.
Billie scrambled to lay down, getting comfy on the blankets. She blushed, embarrassed by how wet she was as her girlfriend spread her legs. “Look at you…” she purred, gathering Billie’s arousal on her finger before licking it off. She lined up the tip of the strap with Billie’s pussy before she rolled her hips forward. Billie moaned, not even attempting to quiet herself. Her head tilted back, jaw dropping slightly. She moaned again as her lover slid her thumb into her mouth, the digit pressing down on her tongue. She sucked obediently, rocking her hips into each thrust. “Needy girl.” Her partner taunted, marking up her neck with hickeys, soothing the bruises with her tongue.
Billie would be embarrassed by how wet she was if it wasn’t so damn hot. She gasped, glancing down to watch the strap disappear into her, only to slide out covered in her arousal. She moaned at the sight, tilting her head back again and suckling on her girlfriend’s thumb. Each thrust made a lewd squelching sound, Billie’s wet pussy clenching around the toy. She pushed a hand down, rubbing her clit in quick circles. “Oh you’re that desperate? Gonna cum, baby?” Y/N husked, thrusts becoming deep and rough. Any attempt Billie made at speaking was muffled and gargled as her spit coated her partner’s digit. Her eyes rolled back, body shaking and eventually going numb as her climax hit her. She pulled her shaking hand from her clit, panting as her lover withdrew her finger from her mouth. “Easy, baby. Did so good f’me, honey.” Y/N soothed the shorter woman, stroking her hair. Billie listened to the words with a dopey smile, letting them envelop her in a comforting warmth. “Happy Valentine’s Day.” She mumbled lazily

Haikyuu characters when (y/n) passes out bc of her period
characters: Tsukishima and Iwaizumi
pt.2
(I meant to do more characters but I accidentally wrote too much just for these two)
a/n: this is purely self indulgent bc my period makes me pass out sometimes lol, so this is a female reader and ofc talks of periods and blood and passing out, so if that isn’t your thing or makes you uncomfortable, find something that’s more for you dear :D
also characters are probs ooc bc this is the first time I’ve written for them lol, so sorry in advance!!
—————
Tsukishima:
You had already started your period a few days ago, and just before it ends is when it’s the worst. The bleeding gets so heavy and no matter what, you feel very faint, but you couldn’t exactly skip school because you had an exam that you needed to do that you know the teacher wouldn’t allow to be retaken or rescheduled, so you hunkered down and trudged on.
Walking to school alone was uncomfortable, your cramps twisting in your stomach like a cheese grater to your organs. You were so distracted by the pain you didn’t even realize the footsteps coming up behind you.
“Can’t believe you’d leave me behind like that.” Tsukishima scoffs, his long strides easily falling into step next to your slightly stilted ones.
“Oh, I’m sorry, Tsukishima, I was distracted thinking about my exam today.” You smile up at him kindly, heart stuttering slightly, arms crossed over your stomach to try and alleviate the pain.
“Yeah, you told me about that last night… What are you doing with your arms?”
You look down at where they cross and shrug with a tired smile, “I’m just feeling a little cold today I think. Anyway, I’ll see you after your practice, yeah?” You wave as you walk off, joining Yachi and a few other friends to walk to class together, unaware of the secretly worried look following after you.
You’re in class, taking notes just before lunch when an incredibly strong pang hits you, squeezing the breath from your lungs. Quietly, you wheeze to try and distract yourself, and Yachi, who sits next to you, gently presses a hand to your arm in worry.
“Hey, you okay? Whats going on?” She whispers, glancing to the teacher to make sure they don’t notice.
“Yeah, I’m good. Just cramps.” You whisper back shakily, wrapping an arm snugly around your stomach.
Yachi gives you a sympathetic look, well aware of your struggles. “I have some extra strength advil in my bag, I’ll give you some at lunch.”
You mouth a thank you and quickly go back to taking notes when the teacher turns around.
As lunch starts, your friends amble around your desk to eat together, and Yachi quickly roots around for the medication and hands it to you, which you take immediately.
To try and avoid an extra stomach ache, you eat the light snack you packed with you, not having a lunch since you knew you would be too nauseous to keep anything down.
A minute later, the door to the classroom slides open and a familiar tall, bespectacled blond leans in. Your friend nudges you, and gestures with her head to the door when you look up.
You wave as you walk over to the door, “Hey Tsukishima, whats up?” You ask, standing in front of him.
“Just came to see if you were skipping lunch to do some last minute cramming for your exam.” He snarks, easily hiding the fact that he was worried and also wanted to maybe eat lunch with you to potentially help you study. Allegedly.
You laugh at his statement, knowing what he wants but continuing the bit, “I haven’t eaten in three days preparing, you think I’ll break my streak now?”
Tsukishima’s lips quirk before he hears a call of his name down the hall from Yamaguchi. “Ah, I have to go… Here. Make sure to actually eat something to power that pea brain of yours.” He huffs, pressing a strawberry cream bun to your hand before quickly walking off, his ears burning red.
You giggle after him, heart fluttering, before walking back to your desk where your friends all “oooh” and “aawww” at you which you wave off, slightly flustered.
Finally, at your last class of the day where your exam was set to take place, you knew it was gonna be tough. The medicine your friend gave you worked for a while into the exam, but by the end, it had worn off completely and you were not feeling good. You managed to finish the exam with a few minutes to spare, along with Yachi, because you shared the class, who you turned your exam in with, before packing up to leave.
Gathering your stuff, you felt almost all of your blood rush from your head as you stood up with your bag, and stumbled slightly. Yachi caught your arm and looked on in concern, but you smiled and waved it off to walk outside of the classroom. You barely made it a few feet out the door before your vision started to cloud.
Your heart was pounding and blackness bloomed across your eyes. You stumbled again, hitting the wall with your shoulder as Yachi rushed to your side, “(Y/n)! Oh my god, are you okay?!” She whispered loudly, kneeling in front of you, hands shaking.
“I- I can’t see.” You mumbled before your consciousness evaded you, and you slumped forward into your her arms.
It felt like an instant that you were awake again, no longer in the hallway, but now the nurses office, lying on a bed. As soon as you were aware of your surroundings, you became aware of your body and the cramps that were still crushing your insides.
You groaned as you sat up, a cold wet cloth flopping into your lap before you yelped when a snarky voice suddenly spoke up from next to you, “You should keep lying down, you might pass out again.”
Looking to your side, you found Tsukishima sitting in a chair, staring right at you with furrowed brows.
“Tsukishima? What’re you doing here? Shouldn’t you be at practice- what time is it?” You questioned, looking around for your bag before another moment of lightheadedness hit you, making you press a hand to your forehead.
Tsukishima quickly stood up, pressing a hand against your shoulder, “Hey, listen to what I said! Lay back down!” He pushed, but you grabbed his wrist and pressed your forehead against his chest, breathing shakily.
“You idiot.” He mumbled, gently resting a hand on the back of your head.
You sighed before looking up at him, his hand still on your head. “Why’re you here?” You asked again.
“I was supposed to be at practice, but when Yachi called me, telling me you had passed out in the hallway, I couldn’t just not come. Who do you think brought you here? Yachi definitely isn’t strong enough to carry you.” He explains, brows furrowed again in worry.
“Ah, sorry about that.” You mumble, looking away from his eyes, but the hand previously on your head reaches for your chin and turns you back to him.
His eyes flicker around your face, as if searching before he finally demands, “What happened?”
You shrink a little into yourself, face flushing, but the hand on your chin holds firm as a second hand rests next to your thighs, trapping you in place. “…This’s never happened at school, it’s luckily only happened when I’ve been home, and normally my parents can take care of me, but my period makes me super light headed sometimes and I can pass out.” You murmur against squished cheeks.
Tsukishima’s face drops at the admission, “… So this happens regularly?”
“Well, kind of like every other period, but there have been times when it’s happened more than once if I have a really bad week.” You trail off, shrinking under his growing anger.
“And you’ve never told me about this because..?”
“I wouldn’t want to bother you and, like I said, normally my parents take care of me-“
“But what about times where they couldn’t?”
“I just lay down on the floor and then wake up later?”
Tsukishima can actively feel his blood pressure rise as he sighs, releasing your chin to pinch at the bridge of his nose.
“I’m taking you home and staying with you until your parents get home.” He states, standing back to full height before picking up both of your bags and pulling out his phone, presumably to text his team that he won’t return to practice at all.
“Tsukishima, you really don’t have to-!”
“I will, because you clearly can’t take care of yourself.”
“It’s not like I can control it!”
“Which is exactly why I’m going to take care of you. You can’t control it, and I don’t want to have to worry about you until I see you again!”
You’re stunned at the admission, feeling your ears burn at the worried look on Tsukishima’s face before you try again. “Really, it’s no big deal! You shouldn’t have to deal with your friend who-“ but before you can finish, you’re silenced by a pair of lips that press against yours.
You whimper in surprise as Tsukishima pulls away, pressing his forehead against yours, cheeks red as he glares at you, “I care about you and want to take care of you because I love you, can’t you understand that?” He demandss.
“Love?!” You squeak, pulling away to turn and hide your burning face in your hands.
“Yes, love.” He huffs, prying one hand away from your face to wrap an arm around your waist and rest his forehead against your shoulder. “…When Yachi called me, I ran across the school to get to you.” He mumbles.
Your heart racing, you take your other hand away from your face and gently tangle it through Tsukishima’s hair, lightly scratching at his scalp, making him shiver. “Sorry for worrying you.”
“… Whatever, it was my choice to worry, anyway.” He huffs again, standing and angling his head away to try and stop you from seeing his red face, but failing as you laugh, the cloth in your lap slowly wetting your skirt.
Iwaizumi:
Your stomach had been hurting all day. No matter of medication was able to stop the pain and despite having dealt with it for so long, you never got used to it and it never got better.
You just wanted to go home and lay down for the rest of the day, but responsibilities and school work didn’t stop just because you were tired, and you still had to get through practice after school, being the manager of the boy’s volleyball club. You’d just have to steel yourself to power through until you could go home.
Sighing when the final school bell rang, you slowly packed up your stuff and tiredly shuffled your way to the gym, biting your lip with each painful ache that shot through your system.
As you neared the gym, you could see the large cluster of girls already flocking to the open door, none of them daring to cross the threshold as they watched the team warm up. “Excuse me, girls.” You called politely, smiling when they shuffled around to let you through, greeting you kindly.
As you made it to the front, a stack of letters were shoved into your hands before the swarm cleared out, making you giggle as they chorused goodbyes and lightly pushed at each other bashfully. You closed the door to the gym and were again greeted, this time by the actual team.
“(Y/n)-chan! Is one of these letters finally from you?” Oikawa cooes playfully, taking the letters you held out to him, obviously from the girls who were just here.
“You’ve gotta try a bit harder if you want to actually be able to win my love, Oikawa.” You answered blankly, setting down your bag and starting on your basic duties.
Oikawa failed to respond as a ball ricocheted off the back of his head, making him fall forward as Iwaizumi barked out from behind, “Get back to practice Trashykawa!”
“Iwa-chan, you’re so mean to me!” He cries, stumbling back to court as you shake your head fondly at their actions.
As they continue to warm up, you go to fill up the water bottles, keeling over the water station when an especially sharp pain hit. You quickly straightened up when you heard someone clear their throat behind you, but winced again, pressing a hand to your side.
“Woah, are you alright?” The voice you now recognized as Iwaizumi asked as he appeared at your side, a large, warm hand pressed against the small of your back, making your face flush despite yourself.
You wave off his concern with a strained laugh, “Ah, I’m fine! Don’t worry, just a little side cramp.” You smile up at him, making his face burn at how cute he found you.
“R-right, sorry.” He quickly backs away, hands raised stiffly when he realized he was touching you. “Do you, uh, need help with that?” He asks, pointing to the crate of bottles.
“No, it’s fine. Focus of practice, Iwaizumi, not on the manager tasks I do every day.” You simper, resting a hand against his bicep before scampering off to return the, now full, water bottles.
Iwaizumi feels his heart race at the contact before shaking himself out of his head, where he will definitely be replaying that moment, to go back to practice. “Where did you go, Iwa?” Matsukawa asks rhetorically, snickering with Hanamaki at Iwaizumi’s flustered face before running off when he threatens them with a ball.
As they continue through practice, you’re sitting on your bench on the side, half empty water bottles to your left, a bag of towels to your right, and writing on your clip board the practice scores and what specific players should practice on, on their individual sheets.
Every few seconds you can feel your eyebrow twitch in tandem with each cramp that hits. You slowly feel yourself start to sweat, the back of your shirt clinging to your skin uncomfortably and your hands going clammy. Fanning yourself with a free hand, you reach for your own water bottle.
The cool water helps, partly, but not enough. The heat in the gym is getting to you, the constant squeaking of sneakers and slamming of the ball, you can feel your chest get tighter, your vision blurring, head starting to spin. You quietly get up and speed walk to the door, fanning yourself with your clipboard as you go.
Making it outside, you take a few stumbling steps to lean against the wall of the gym, hearing muffled and ringing, but suddenly aware of someone coming up behind you with quick steps. “Hey, what happened?” Iwaizumi asks, holding onto your shoulder in worry, brows furrowed.
“Aw, you care about me, Iwaizumi?” You can’t help but tease, a feigned, coy smile on your lips which makes him flush and stutter in his steps and response.
“I-I’m just feeling a little hot.” You pant, continuing to fan yourself and attempting to take a step forward when your legs suddenly fail you and you stumble to your knees, dropping the clipboard, papers scattering.
“O-oi, (y/n)!” He calls, dropping down next to you and catching you with an arm across your clavicle when you suddenly slump forward, eyes shut.
You wake up with a start, finding yourself on a bench in the team room with a cool pack on your head. Reaching up, you grab the pack and slowly sit up, swinging your legs down to sit normally.
“You’re finally awake.” Iwaizumi’s relieved voice sounds from the door of the room, startling you into dropping the pack on the floor. “Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” He apologizes, quickly coming to your side with your water bottle in hand.
You take the bottle and drink a few gulps, accidentally spilling some drops from the corner of your mouth which slide down the side of your neck. Iwaizumi can’t help but watch them fall before shooting his eyes back to your face when you clear your throat.
“Did-uh, did you bring me here?” You ask awkwardly, wiping away the spilled water.
“Yeah, you collapsed in my arms, and the nurse’s office was closed, so I-uh, brought you back here instead. If you weren’t feeling good, you should have just gone home.” Iwaizumi reprimands gently, sitting on the bench sideways to face you, watching your shoulders slump in mild shame.
Nodding along, you laugh, “I probably should have, but I thought I’d be able to last. I didn’t want to leave you guys manager-less if I could just power through. This normally hap-”
“This is normal?” Iwaizumi cuts you off, leaning in to look at you with a shocked and worried expression.
You lean back, flushing at the sudden proximity. “W-well, kinda. My period can get pretty heavy, and it can make me all lightheaded, and sometimes I pass out. But it normally happens at home, not at school!” You stumble through your explanation, pressing a hand to Iwaizumi’s chest and turning to look any place other than his face.
“That’s not safe at all! What happens if you fall and hit your head?!” He demands, leaning closer, one hand grabbing your waist, the other pressing the hand on his chest closer so you could practically feel his heart racing.
“My-my parents help me, or I just lay down until I can get up!” You stammer, only making it worse.
Iwaizumi sighs into your shoulder, hugging you close to his chest between his legs. You sputter at the sudden contact, arms trapped between your chests, but freeze when you feel his hand squeeze your waist.
“You’re gonna make my heart give out. You make me so worried.” He mumbles into your shirt.
Your hands grip the front of his uniform tightly as your eyes squeeze shut in embarrassment at how hot your face feels. “Sorry.” You whisper into his hair.
“It’s not your fault, but… please, let me take you home so I know you won’t just pass out on the side of the road.” He practically begs, unconsciously circling his thumb on your hip comfortingly.
You giggle at his words, heart fluttering from his actions. “Ok, just so I can pass out in your arms instead.” You simper, quieting a giddy shriek when his hands squeeze your waist tighter as he chuckles into your neck.

shadows
pairing : luke castellan x reader
warnings : angst, lwk slightly toxic luke.. mentions of thalias ‘death’
semi-au where luke & thalia dated (alexa que i think they did it but i just can’t prove it.)
⋆. 𐙚 ˚
you remember the first time he looked at you in a different lense, almost like you could save him.
it was after she’d been turned into a tree, after the monsters had torn through, after the zeus had decided a little girl was worth more rooted in soil. you’d known luke before, another scrappy half-blood scraping by with broken shoes and a too-big backpack. you’d seen him with her, thalia. loud, bold thalia. unbreakable thalia.
when she fell, he cracked.
so when he kissed you months later, under the boughs of her new, eternal prison, you let him. you were enough to stitch the cracks together.
but it doesn’t take long to realize that the ghost of her never leaves.
the first time it happens, it’s innocent enough. you’re training, trying to disarm him. he laughs bright, breathless, and says, “you almost had me. you’re quick, like thalia.”
you tilted your head a little, brows furrowing. he doesn’t notice. he kisses you after, sweet and apologetic when his sword knocks the wind out of you. you’re tough, he says. just like her.
weeks go by, and you become her shadow.
when you spar, he compares you. when you argue, it’s ‘something so dumb only thalia would care’. when you make him laugh, it’s because you remind him of her snark. when you’re braver than he expects, it’s because “she would’ve done the same.”
you tell yourself he loves you, not her. you tell yourself he wouldn’t hold you so close at night, wouldn’t pull you into his chest and bury his face in your hair if he didn’t mean it.
but the pine tree on the hill looms larger every time, and you keep feeling like you’re kissing him for her.
the final straw breaks on an ordinary day, unexpected, like tragedy always does.
an granola bar goes missing. it’s stupid, small. you say you didn’t take it. he says you always do this “getting into things that aren’t yours. you’re reckles-”
you snap. “reckless? it’s a goddamn snack, luke”
he throws his hands up. “it’s not about the snack! you just; you don’t think! just like thalia.”
your blood turns to ice. the world tunnels in. his mouth keeps moving, but you can’t hear it over the roaring in your ears. you watch him. your boyfriend. your almost. your never enough.
it all becomes too much too soon, all of a sudden your throat tightens up, the walls close around you, your lungs feel asphyxiated. you can’t do it anymore, your feet turn around for you. and then, the final wound.
“i’m talking to you. don’t fucking walk away from me thalia.” he shouts your name, except it isn’t yours. he calls you hers.
silence swallows the cabin.
his eyes are wide, like he just woke up, as if he just realized what he had done. he says your name, the real one, soft, broken. “wait. listen, i didn’t mean”
you shake your head. it’s almost funny, how gentle you feel. how hollow. “yes, you did.”
he tries to reach for you. you step back.
“i hope you find her again, luke. i hope she forgives you whe- if she wakes up.”
his breath hiccups. “don’t, no, don’t leave me, please” he shakes his head.
you turn away from the boy who never looked at you, only through you.
the door closes behind you, soft as pine needles falling.
she stays a tree. you stay gone. he stays broken.
some things the gods never fix. some shadows never lift. and you are done living in hers.

•
Lover Boy
Summary: head over heels? he can’t get enough of you!!
Warnings/tags: none (mild angst, lil suggestive, and some cursing but that’s it)! Just Cloud fluff <3 ambiguous timeline but before advent children, canon-divergent, could be thought of as a point in time prolonging the events of the main story :), cloud strife x reader
A/N: I have seen ALL of my other requests/DMs!! I am not ignoring yall, I’ve been very very sick (the ER is scary) and trying my best to recover! I will start responding this week and coming weeks hehe, my requests are still open btw so pls send more. this is so fun and drafting ideas to the responses has really helped take my mind off of things <3 enjoy, comments/likes/reblogs are much appreciated but definitely not required :3 also I did not proofread this and I decided to hate punctuation today :)
•
- Cloud is the type that is a little dense at first, however, once he realizes his feelings; it’s like he can’t stop thinking about it.
- it’s a bit hard getting close to him. he tries his hardest to keep people away but he just can’t help but be drawn in by honest, kind, genuine people. When he loves, he loves deeply. Platonic or romantic, once you’re his person that’s it.
- he acts like a hard ass, like he’s aloof and indifferent, which to most, is hard to be around; but to you it doesn’t seem to phase you. That’s what initially attracts him to you, you don’t pry him for answers. You don’t stick your nose into his business if it’s clear that he doesn’t want to talk about something. But that doesn’t mean that you don’t express your concerns as well as your growing affection towards him.
- Cloud is the type of person that would develop feelings for a close friend. Given all of his history, and trauma; he would need a partner that is understanding to his unique and often unpredictable nature. If he’s triggered, he doesn’t want to make his partner uncomfortable or potentially harm/scare them. He’d also just be more comfortable putting his feelings out there for someone that he trusts.
- being with someone that can reassure him, and bring him comfort when it’s appropriate would do wonders towards his self esteem and self image. He thinks himself a burden, especially considering everything he’s ever had to do and witness. He blames himself for a lot of past grievances, and often isolates himself as a form of repentance.
- that doesn’t bother you; and you slowly chip away at the walls he’s built over the years
- you’re just so easy to be around, he finds himself being vulnerable around you. yet it doesn’t scare him like it normally would. You accept his baggage, flaws, and even his attitude with open arms and a kind forgiving smile.
- that isn’t to say that you let him treat you rudely, or talk to you in certain ways. Just because you’re understanding, and caring, doesn’t mean you’re so soft that you can’t stand up for yourself. If he’s in a mood, and comes at you sideways you make sure to shut it down immediately.
- that doesn’t happen often, for all of his snark and sass he just can’t bring himself to push you away.
- he tries at first, before you become an item; to push you away. To paint himself as a tough man, a damaged man, a complicated man. He tells you to stay away, to not get caught up with a man like him. But you, of course, don’t listen.
- why the hell would you? You can see past the front he’s putting up. You know he’s a soft and sweet man beneath all of that tough skin. Him being handsome does help, though.
- you greet him happily when you see him, brush your fingers along his arm and back affectionately, bring him cool drinks and little snacks just to show him that you think about him
- and he realizes that he does the same for you. takes you into consideration that he normally wouldn’t do with someone outside of his inner circle. Maybe it’ll be subtle things like being a little more gentlemanly. holding a door open for you. handing you a jacket when you shiver. guiding you with a soft hand along the small of your back during a walk or an errand
- things will develop into late night chats, when you’re left alone with your thoughts and he happens to be around
- he walks you home often, the excuse is that it isn’t safe at night, but everyone knows that he just can’t be away from you for too long. It’s written on his face, plain as day, that he can’t get enough of you and just can’t bring himself to part with you so soon
- he loves to give you rides on his bike when you need to get out and clear your head
- he enjoys gifting you with the rare flower, a confection, a book he thinks you’d like
- cloud spending money on someone? Cloud acting…shy?
- when he realizes that he has feelings for you his ears blush pink in your presence. His eye contact is held for a little too long and it’s just a little too intense. (Forgive him, he’s just a little ND, he doesn’t know what appropriate eye contact is, much less with the person he likes 😔) and he leans a little more into your friendly touch
- he’ll scuff his shoes around you, you’ll twirl a piece of your hair around a finger with a coy smile on your face
- it’s sickeningly sweet to witness the both of you flirting so obviously to everyone else, yet neither of you know that the other holds mutual feelings. Not until Tifa takes him to the side after hours at the bar.
- he’d just gotten back from walking you home, he’d returned from a mission hours before, and just wanted to spend more time with you. you’d held his arm and it hadn’t phased him. While he wasn’t a fan of skinship, most of the women he’d been around threw him around so he was used to touch at that point. He figured it was lighthearted and friendly, and didn’t think anything of it
- Tifa made him a glass of something sweet, and didn’t waste any time. Asked him if he was serious about you, and if he knew what was going on between the both of you. Or at least if he heard the rumors surrounding his ambiguous relationship with you.
- because friends don’t tightly embrace each other, arms wrapped around each other firmly, heads buried in a shoulder and atop a soft head of hair; after Cloud had been away on a long mission. They don’t lean in, noses practically touching, and whisper “I’m happy you made it back safe, welcome home.”
- home? Was this home to cloud? No, but he was realizing that you were.
- his heart would race when Tifa would bring up the way you looked at him when he wasn’t paying attention to you. How his gaze would follow your form as well, especially when you’d laugh and smile at a random man’s joke or compliment towards you
- was he jealous? He’d never thought of himself possessive, he didn’t even know that he’d clench his fist at the sight of you getting on with someone that wasn’t him
- after his talk with Tifa he’d play it off, but accept his feelings nonetheless
- he’d feel himself undeserving of them, of a tender and sweet love. Hell, he didn’t think he even deserved to even sit next to you at the bar.
- but the thoughts of monopolizing your time, of keeping your smile to himself, begin to consume him. Once he’s aware of his feelings, it becomes hard not to just reach out and touch your shoulder. He wants to touch you for some reason, he wants to caress your cheek, he wants to embrace you the way lovers do.
- he doesn’t think himself a man of many desires. He’s a ‘SOLDIER’ (ex 😑 first class 😶) and a merc, damn it. what is he doing staring at you longingly? Dreaming of your warm lips on his? Using any and every excuse to be alone with you?
- it gets to be too much when he overhears your gossiping with Tifa one day. Sighing longingly into a glass of lemonade, about a man that confessed to you. You didn’t want to be with him, but you’d been single for so long; should you just say fuck it and go on a date with him?
- Tifa asks about your feelings for Cloud, and before you can answer, he dramatically enters the room, and asks if you want to take a little walk.
- and who were you to deny Cloud? The literal light of your life, the man of your dreams. With heart eyes you follow him out, and Tifa silently cheers you on
- once you’re enough away from the bar (you realize you’re heading towards his apartment), he gets right to the point.
- finding solace in your friendship and cozy embrace is what makes him confess, it gave him the bravery to be honest with his feelings regardless of the outcome. He had to trust you with his heart, because you’d done nothing to make him doubt you.
- the way cloud confesses, it’s not one for the corny romance novels you hoard. It isn’t something out of a fairytale. There’s no heavy rainfall that surrounds you, there’s no firm embrace, he doesn’t even look you in the eye. Just continues walking.
- “I respect you, and cherish your company,” he leads, and slowly he reaches for your hand as he continues on the path to his apartment, “there’s no point in keepin’ this from you, so I’ll come out with it. I love you.”
- your breath catches in your throat, and you don’t dare to look at him. Were you dreaming?
- “you don’t hafta return my feelings. I just thought you should know.” His head is straight on, a firm look is set in his brow, and as you chance a glance at him, you think to yourself that he’s the most beautiful man you’d ever seen. His sincerity and his raw confession, well it made your heart soar. This was his way of putting his own heart on his sleeve, just for you. Giving a piece of himself away, that he wouldn’t usually dare to trust someone with before.
- “I love you too.” Your voice was soft and you squeezed his hand even softer.
- the way you look at him, he doesn’t have a chance to even begin to doubt you.
- you don’t do anything big, like announce that you’re partners or anything like that. You don’t even really confirm a relationship, but there’s of course a change in your dynamic. It’s something unspoken, your commitment, but that’s usually what Cloud is. Unspoken, yet pure devotion.
- once your love is laid out in the open, his affection triples. He’s definitely awkward, it takes a while for him to be more talkative and be as touchy feely as you, but he’s trying I swear
- he holds an arm out for you when you walk around together; regardless of where you’re at. Pulls the chair out for you when you go out to eat. Stands up when you enter the room. Smiles when he sees you, audibly chuckles even if the joke you tell him isn’t funny, initiates conversation more
- and he initiates skinship himself, now too
- he gently tucks a piece of hair behind your ear. Holds your hand, doesn’t matter if there are other people around. Why should that matter? He’s yours, you’re his, and he’ll do what he damn well pleases
- you start to touch him more as well. it was light and friendly in the past, but now with your confirmed mutual feelings it’s more intense and obvious. Definitely, it has a more romantic undertone.
- You hug him when you see him, which was rare before, but now it’s every time you first greet him for the day and before he leaves to do this and that.
- you seem more worried when he takes on missions and merc work. You pace your apartment and 7th Heaven, longingly stare at the door to the bar, wait for him to come back while practically on your toes.
- and when you kiss for the first time? He can’t get enough. He’s clumsy, you’re eager, and once just won’t cut it
- he really enjoys intimacy, whether it’s you seated in his lap or him hugging you from behind. A kiss on the cheek, a few pecks here and there, or even heavy make out sessions. He just needs you close to him. He needs to feel you. He feels in those moments, your souls are touching, your minds are connecting, you truly understand each other, it makes him feel whole
- he’s inviting you over to his apartment, not that there’s much to do in his small home. Maybe it’s to cuddle, maybe it’s to talk, maybe it’s for something more sensual and vulnerable. Regardless of the reason, he just craves your presence. Craves your touch. Craves your very being near him or on top of him (it’s usually on top of him)
- he’s a man starved of affection :( please kiss him often, hug him as much as you can, tell him how much you love him any chance you get
- he really does enjoy it all
- PDA isn’t really his thing but for you he’s okay with it. Verbalizing his feelings, that isn’t his thing either, but he’d rather make himself a little uncomfortable if it meant that you knew just how much he cared for you

A/N: One day, I just really wanted to write a fic with all my favorite silly crime men and have them be snarky to each other, and that’s what I did. This was literally written for the fun, for the vibes, for the hell of it, and then I just could not, not make it about my husband too. So, even if you’ve only watched one of the shows, give this a read, I think it's fun. enjoy🤭
and thank you to @reidsstargirl for beta reading this 🥺💕

“You’re late.” You said after you pulled the door open. A rumpled blond was sitting in front of you - a white dress shirt, a black vest, and a gray suit jacket thrown over his shoulder.
He flashed you a lazy smile, all teeth, “Yeah, well, when have you known me to be punctual?” He pushed past you, stepping into the apartment, with no care in the world.
His eyes ran around the room, finding it empty of any other presence, “You little minx, you lied to me.” He turned around, eyes running through your body.
You smiled, eyes sparkling, “Yeah, well, I had to get creative if I wanted you to be on time, Jane. You have just enough time for a power nap, go enjoy the couch.” You threw his words back at him, and then waved a hand around, gusting to the emerald couch.
You made your way to the kitchen, picking up a half-full glass of champagne. Walking around for a second, you looked at the man on the couch and waited for the 15 minutes until 7:30 to pass, so you could welcome your other guests too.
You were waiting on Aaron and Spencer - they were coming straight from work, deciding to stay around an extra hour after you to finish up. Harvey was flying in from New York, Castle was driving down, and Jane was already snoring on your couch, and Booth was coming after closing a case.
You arranged these poker games once every two months, depending on how all your schedules aligned. You’d worked with all of these silly assholes at one point in your life. Sometimes, they needed some time to just goof around and play some games, nothing serious.
A few other of your colleagues joined occasionally - Rossi and Morgan loved the snark, and Emily was a fan of disturbing the testosterone with you from time to time. But all of them were busy, so it was just you and the usuals tonight.
12 minutes later, you were welcoming everyone in, and Jane was rousing from his nap, looking even more rumpled than before.
Spencer and Booth took their usual places in front of the TV, where you’d already queued a baseball game, and left them some snacks. The others each took a place at the table.
You usually played just one game, so you took your place as the dealer and shuffled the cards.
The conversation was sparse for a few minutes while you dealt the cards.
“Why’s Clark Kent not playing?” Rick asked all of a sudden, gusting to Booth with his head. Booth usually joined the gathering every few games, still not entirely comfortable coming every time. His addiction wasn’t something that you’d brought up or were looking to bring up during a night like this. He usually stayed away from the table, engrossed in a game of baseball on tv, or bothering Reid for any useless facts and calling him a squint.
“Let him be Rick, he needs the night out even if he isn’t playing.” Your answer was vague and it would stay that way as long as Booth wanted to be there and stay away from the game.
“And the kid?” It was Jane’s voice, and he raised a hand and pointed at Spencer. He was usually sitting the games out too, since the last time you and Hotch had played with him he’d hustled you.
“Go on, tell him.” You prompted Spencer, as he bookmarked the page he was reading.
“I’m good at poker.” It wasn’t convincing and it wasn’t the truth.
You shook your head with a laugh, “Nooo, Jane’s good at poker, Castle is good at poker. What are you good at?” You asked, your eyes meeting Aaron’s for a second.
“I'm good at counting the cards, and banned from several casinos in Las Vegas, Laughlin, and Pahrump.” Aaron’s lips twitched, a barely there grin appearing for just a second before it disappeared again.
“Can I borrow him for a poker night with my author buddies? Maybe even Kate? I really need a win.” Castle asked.
“He’s not winning against Kate, Rick. She will sniff him out before he even sits at the table. Now, Ryan and Esposito, on the other hand, you can easily steal some money from.” You told him as you took a sip from your drink.
Everyone else was having a drink - whiskey was the preferred drink at your table, Booth was having a beer and Spencer was sticking to water.
“Anything to drink Jane?” You asked again.
“Chamomile tea, two sugars please.”
“You do realize this is a poker game, and not an afternoon tea with Her Majesty, right?” Harvey’s usual snark was making a comeback for the first time tonight.
“But her Majesty’s sitting right there.” Jane's chin jutted towards Rick. It was no secret that out of every man currently in the room, Rick was probably the most pretentious one, closely followed by Harvey.
“Haha, very funny.”
“I didn't lie, did I? I highly doubt that the Ferrari parked downstairs can be bought on a government salary.” Quipped Jane.
“How do you know it's not Harvey's?”
“Because I'm not a pussy driving a bright red Ferrari around New York City, thank you very much.” Harvey threw a few chips in the center of the table.
“Well, said Ferrari costs anywhere between 70K and 120K. A Special Agent’s salary is around 135K, and 170K a year for Supervisory Special Agents. So realistically, yeah, we can’t afford it.” Spencer shrugged, turning a page in his book, not even phased by the looks everyone was throwing at him.
“I like this kid, he’s such a squint.” Booth laughed and gave Reid’s shoulder a little pat. Spencer tensed for a second but quickly relaxed again.
“Dammed it, I overpaid 30K for this one.” Castle scoffed, shaking his head.
Harvey produced a business card from somewhere and slid it toward Rick.
“In case you need it. Fair warning though, get on my nerves, and I’m giving you to Louis.”
“Aww he has a heart.” Rick pouted.
“Never repeat that, never.” The brunette warned.
“And a lot of snark.” You smiled, looking around. They all might have serious jobs during the day, but they were all extremely silly when they were off of work.
The game continued on for another 15 minutes, conversion flying by until Booth’s voice rang around you.
“Okay Jane, no offense, but I need to know. What’s your shtick? What made the FBI want to hire you as a consultant?” Seeley asked, turning a sobriety chip in his hand.
“Ugh, offense.”
“Oh come on,” Booth waved a hand around, “I’m one of the best sharpshooters out there,” you rolled your eyes and so did Rick, “Hotchner’s an ex-ADA, Y/N’s a weapons expert and a linguist. Reid over here is basically Einstein.”
“Well, actually, Einstein’s IQ is believed to be somewhere between 160 and 180, and mine’s 187, so technically, I surpass Albert Einstein.” Seeley wasn’t happy being interrupted again, but he let it slide, used to being interrupted by his own team.
“So Jane, what makes you such a special asset to the FBI? You're not still pulling the psychic card, are you?” To anyone, it might seem judgmental, the way he asked, but you knew it was anything but. He was curious, but he also valued his job too much not to ask.
Jane leaned back in his chair, laying his cards face down and his hands on top of them. He looked on over you, head to toe, and then his eyes focused on your left - to Aaron.
You saw his eyes shine for a second, and shook your head at him, already knowing what was going to come out of his mouth.
“There is no such thing as psychics. Just a very good eye for reading people. Like for example, all night Hotchner’s been a broody, quiet bastard, safe for any time Y/N talks. His eyes light up and he relaxes back into his chair.” You watched Aaron’s posture too tight and reached a hand under the table to lay over his leg.
You were glaring daggers in Jane's direction, but once he was on a roll, there was no stopping him. “Earlier, when she put his glass down, his fingers on the hand closest to her body, twitched. His cologne is expensive, freshly applied - he probably has a spear bottle in his office. He's been checking his watch, waiting for the night to end, so we'd all go home. Not him though, he's staying over.”
He played with the edge of his cards as he watched all eyes turn in your direction.
“Oh, and the murderous look he's been giving Harvey every time he catches him looking at Y/N a bit too closely. Also, the clenching of the jaw - seriously knock it off, you won't have teeth forever.” Jane warned before he leaned back into his chair, looking just a tad too proud of himself.
The silence was defeating for a few moments, no one dared to utter a word.
“I don't think they wanted that to be shared just yet.” Rick muttered
“No shit.” Aaron's fingers wrapped around your own as he gritted out.
“And I didn't want to be lied to, but alas…” Jane added, flashing you a grin.
“Oh, you petty asshole.” A grin was making its way onto your face and you didn't know why.
“Oh, I'm about to become even more of an asshole - full house.” He threw his card in the middle of the table, close to the chips.
“Awww, you really are an asshole.” Rick leaned back in his chair, defeated and pouting.
“Takes one to know one, Dicky.” He smirked.
“Are you okay with this?” You turned around and asked Aaron quietly, for a moment forgetting the room full of men you’d worked with over the years.
“I'm good, although being profiled wasn't my idea of fun for the night.” He admitted just as quietly, reaching to push your hair away.
“I'm sorry.” He went to close the space between you before you heard the scraping of chairs.
“Okay kiddos, mom and dad need us to empty the apartment. Go on, out the door.” Seeley announced. You rolled your eyes at his bullshit before you started giving goodbye hugs.
“If Hotchner's the dad, who's the daddy?” Harvey asked jokingly as he pulled you into a hug.
“Ask Louis tomorrow.”
“I didn't need the mental picture, thank you.” He shuddered and walked towards the door with the rest.
“Don't ask dumb questions then.” You called out, before you turned towards the good Doctor, “Oh and Spence? Keep this on the down-low, would you?” You asked, still not exactly ready to share this with your team, even after having the whole thing come out this way.
He smiled sheepishly and scratched at the back of his neck, “Yeah…too late.” and just then both your and Aaron's phones went off.
There was no question about it, there was a fun morning waiting for you tomorrow.
Comments and reblogs are greatly appreciated!

Simon 'Ghost' Riley x Halloween
Tw. Flirting/banter. MDNI.
"Obviously it's a Halloween movie!" You yell across the mess hall, popcorn in hand.
"Nightmare before CHRISTMAS, love. Titles in the name." Came the gruff reply.
"Skeletons, Simon! I know you know what they are!?" You retort, slumping onto the sofa.
Flicking the TV on, the familiar opening poem ringing out around the room, you settle with your snacks, leaving room for your Leuitenant on the sofa.
Simon sits next to you, his thigh brushing against yours, his broad shoulders enveloping the back of the sofa.
Both of you were home for Halloween, a few days leave, not enough time to catch up with anyone, so you both stayed on base, a few playful moments of banter like this were what you lived for.
"It has a whole section dedicated to Christmas, snow, lights, trees, there's a whole song about it, love." Simon remarks, a smirk on his features.
"But where did they start the film? Halloween town!" You snark back, stealing the bowl of snacks from his lap.
He chuckles, the sound echoing around the room as he leant closer, stealing the bowl back, freezing slightly when your hands touch, your eyes meeting his.
His gaze travels to your lips and back up to your eyes, almost asking for permission.
You nod, and his lips softly meet yours. His hand resting on your cheek, deepening the kiss.
After a few moments, he pulls away softly, his eyes light with humour
"Christmas movie." He argues.
"Halloween movie." You shoot back.
"Okay, love. I'll give in, it's both. Now come 'ere." He laughs, pulling your body on top of his, before claiming your lips again.

Loss | Nico Hischier x Reader

inspired by the song crazy in love- remix by Beyoncé
Warnings: language, argument, cool off, makeup sex, breeding kinks, unprotected smut!!! BE SAFE PLZZ (very small amount of smut at the end, really only a makeup blurb)
Summary: after the devils lost their last game that could’ve gotten them into the playoffs, Nico takes the loss personally.
💭: JACK THEN LUKE 🩷🤞
◦◦,`°.✽✦✽.◦.✽✦✽.°`,◦◦
The ride home from the game was the loudest silence I’ve heard. Nico was the last one off the ice and the first one to leave the locker room. He was in a rush to get home.
No comments on any conversation I made, no road rage, no hand on my thigh, no post game kisses. If anything, I’m scared he’ll leave.
Nico would never do anything to hurt me, but when it comes to hockey, he’ll most definitely pick the sport over me. I’m okay knowing his career is a bigger deal than me, because of how big of a deal hockey is to everyone else.
I mean he’s captain. He should be working his ass off and not just for the spot as C, but for everyone to respect him.
“Nico. You know if you need to-“ Nico cuts me off.
“I don’t need to talk about it.” He shoots out. I think i see actual steam coming out of his ears. Before we head home, Nico stopped by a grocery store to pick up a snack.
He gets out of the car and didn’t open my door. “Well i guess I’m not going with.” I mutter to myself.
I see Nico walk into the store, he has tears in his eyes, I watch him walk away, hands up to his face. He’s wiping the tears away.
Real men show emotion.
“God.” I scream in frustration. I take my shoes off, i let my socks hand out, leaving my puffer jacket on i slide my purse off.
I take my phone out of my pocket from my jeans, I’m tired of it, seriously, why am I getting blamed.
~text~
i want choco pretz. (You)
send me $$ then. (Nico)
nvm. (You)
Read (Nico)
~
what a bitch.
Nico comes out of the store with four plastic bags on each side of his arms. He stuffs the goods into the backseats.
“So, what did you get?” I ask him. I don’t my pretzels.
“Your chocolate pretzels- and your gummies.” He slides his arm into a bag sitting behind my seat. He takes his hand and throws the bag of pretzels at me. My eye gets hit, I have a red mark lining through my eyebrow to the bottom of my nose- acrooss my eyelid.
~
We made it home. Nico already had dinner, and i ate Mac and cheese before the game. “Dinner in five. Be ready or I’m going to bed.” Nico says. He walks into the house, leaving me to open my own door and take my own bag. He leaves his hockey gear in the trunk and he gathers the grocery bags.
He loads the bags into the kitchen leaving him to unload them. I walk into the bedroom we share and i take my get ready bag, some makeup, and pjs and i wlak into the guest bedroom.
“Where are you going?” He snaps at me. He whips his head around to look at the hallway I’m in, facing our bedroom he sees the empty space of a bed I slept in.
I took my pillow, my personal blanket, and my phone charger. It looks like we broke up and i no longer had a life in this house. The vanity i sat in every morning is dark, and empty.
“Where does it look like?” I responded. I implied i was leaving for the night by gesturing to the pillow and small blanket in my hands that I wasn’t sleeping in the bed tonight.
“Sure as hell you’re but sleeping in the guest, and you’re not sleeping in your car.” He shouts at me. Nico gets angry easily, obviously not always at me but he was already upset about the game, I didn’t wnat to be around him.
I rolled my eyes and snarked at him. I walk into the room and shut the door. I immediately lock it setting my stuff down on the bed.
“Let me fucking in the room y/n. Open the stupid door.” He screams out for me.
“Just fucking cook dinner!” I yell back. I’m not mad at him, I’m mad at the fact he shuts me out and gets mad at me for trying.
~
Eventually I smell the food go cold, I don’t smell the warm hot steam from the food, so I open the door, I poke me head out. The bedroom door is shut. The lights are off. “Maybe he’s sleeping.” I whisper to myself.
Nico is no where in sight, so I leave the room I was hiding in. I grabbed a plate of whatever he made for dinner and popped it in the microwave.
“What the fuck are you doing?” Nico grabs my hips. “I need to talk.” He motions me to the couch.
“Oh, so now you wanna talk?” I roll my eyes and scoff. Ridiculous.
I switch the lights on as I sit my pretty ass kn the couch. “Why talk now? It’s like 1:24 am.” I glance at the clock that sits above our stove.
“I’m sorry I lashed out on you.” He says.
“I love you, and I care about you. I just wanted to make sure you were okay.” I insisted. The microwave goes off. My food is ready.
We let the food go off. Nico picks me up from the couch. He rubs me over to the bed we share. I had bought this body oil from Victoria’s Secret because it smelt good. Naturally I thought I could put it in my hair, but of course Nico had different plans.
“Turn, clothes. Off.” He sighs as he catches his breath from running around. He slides his sweatpants off, keeps his shirt on.
He spanks my ass. I can feel the stinging pain throughout my whole body.
“Makeup sex to distract me?” I laugh.
“Is it working?” Nico asks as he puts a towel down near my body. He opens the plastic bottle. Pouring the cold oil onto my back he massages into me.
Glitter specks and the rich perfume fragrance fills the room. I feel slippery.
“My turn.” I say. No hesitation I get up and push Nico down. I tear his shirt off of him. Leaving him with his boxers on. I look down motioning to take them off.
He does.
I see a very large cock perked up towards me.
“Gross.” I laugh as turn around to take my bra and tight thing off.
I let Nico lay on his forearms as I run the oil around his abs. He sucks on my hard nippples as I massage the oil into his warm body. I jump onto him. Straddling him, my back facing his face. He pulls me forwards.
I slip, falling face first onto his dick.
I suck o to his cock, Nico lays back, pulling my legs apart, setting them next to his ears.
My pussy opens for him right on his face. He licks every inch of me, I feel a spurt come into my mouth as I suck harder. He jolts yo and down telling me to stop. I can’t.
~
He thrusts harder into me. Pushing his top into my lungs. I feel very heartbeat from his cock into my own pussy.
He pulls out, letting his cum squirt outside of me. I lay flat on my back waiting for him. He pushes three fingers inside and I can feel him wiggle the around looking for something to tease me with.
He lets the oil smother me. The towel wets my hair from all of the oil that pooled into the crevasses of the linen.
Nico takes his fingers out of me and stuffs it I tibuso mouth. Sucking his fingers clean he kisses me. Shoving his tounge down my throat. Massaging every bit of my mouth with his.
I feel his stubble rub against my face. I enjoy knowing he thinks I’ll forget all of the argument within the 19 minute blowjob.
I feel his cock fall onto my lap.
“This should be here, I should be in here.” I pull Nico’s face off of mine. I grab his cock and push it off of my skin, I point to my ribs.
Nico laughs, he thrusts once inside of me, he grips onto my hair falling just to me after he finishes inside me.
Once again he pumps himself into me. This time I do feel him in my ribs.
~
“Goodnight.” I say as I pick up my clean towel and I get in the shower.
“You’re not sleeping in here? Can I shower with you?” Nico runs after me, rubbing my lower stomach.
“I’m tired.” I grunt. And I walk away. “You can shower after me.” I wink as I leave to turn on the hot water.

I have a request if you are interested? :)
A teen!dad jess. He has a best friend from New York (she can have a name or it can be Y/N, you can choose) (they are endgame, jess never had feelings for Rory but she has feelings for Jess, it won't go anywhere) Jess and his best friend have a kid, they co-parent (whether they are dating already or in the future is up to you) Jess gets sent to Stars Hallow, she ends up moving to stars Hallow to, to be close to Jess and so their kid can be with him too (she is emancipated, plus Jess knows she's coming because they keep in contact) if anyone reading this would like to turn this into an actual story, I'm totally down for reading it :) if you choose this request, I look forward to reading it. Thank you!!
alright i kind of changed the story idea around a little bit butttt i tried my best *cries*
don't be a stranger (jess mariano x afab!reader)
cw: angsty, unexpected pregnancy, but otherwise fluff??
↳ masterlist ↳ ship exchange ↳ taglist
When you got pregnant, it was…unexpected—not planned whatsoever. You were only sixteen, not ready to raise a kid, of all things. But you couldn’t find it in yourself to give it up. And when your daughter was born, it made all the pain worth it. She was ethereal.
She was three years old now, full of personality, a lover of all things squishy. She preferred to hide behind you in the grocery store than talk to people, but she smiled at every book she saw and pet every dog you passed. Even with all of that, she didn’t have her Dad.
It wasn’t surprising that Jess got freaked out and ran when she was firstborn. You guys were just friends who hooked up, and suddenly you were pregnant. With the way his life went, it didn’t surprise you. But it hurt; it made you so angry you wanted to scream. You endured, though; you had to.
That’s why it was unexpected when an unknown number called you in the middle of the day.
“Hello?” You answered, shoving the phone between your shoulder and head as you finished cutting some carrot sticks for a snack. There was breathing at the other end of the line, and for a second, you worried something nefarious was at play. “I will call the cops—“
“Don’t,” the voice said, the familiar baritone New York accent you had spent years learning. The intonations, the snark—you knew it like the back of your hand.
“Jess?” You guessed, setting down the kitchen knife and holding the phone tightly.
“I, uh….fuck,” you heard him swear on the other line. You didn’t say anything; just let him work out whatever he wanted as you tried your best to control your breath. “Hi.”
“Hi.”
“How are you?”
“Really,” you deadpanned. “Three years, and that’s all you got?”
“I don’t know what to say to you,” Jess sighed. “I thought I did, but, fuck, hearing your voice…” He didn’t elaborate, but he didn’t have to. You knew all too well. You were experiencing that same feeling right now. “I’m sorry.”
“I…appreciate that,” you coughed.
“I want to see you and…”
“Her, Maria,” you responded. It occurred to you that Jess never learned your kid's name. He wasn’t around long enough for that.
“Maria,” he said, feeling the name around his tongue. I want to try.”
You laughed at that, some of that bubbling anger surfacing in a way you hadn’t felt.
“Why now?” You inquired, your fingers tapping on your cutting board.
“I’m ready now,” Jess said, and you could hear that familiar snark you used to love so much.
“I wasn’t ready; I just had to deal with it,” you seethed, and it took a deep breath to help you not start yelling. “I didn’t get that choice.”
“I know, god, I’m…sorry.”
You don’t remember the last time Jess ever really apologized for anything.
“You can’t choose to show back up because it’s convenient.”
“Y/N…” his sigh was evident on the other line. “Please, let me be better.”
You were silent for a few moments, contemplating everything—whether it was worth it, whether you wanted to try. You rubbed your eyes as if it would clear your head.
“Lunch,” you sighed. “You get a lunch with us. And only if Maria wants to. It’s her choice whether she wants you in her life or not. Alright?”
“Alright,” the relief was evident in his voice, and you tampered down any softness that might undermine your frustration.
“Alright.”
Lunch happened at Lou’s, a deli you frequented with your daughter. It was public, safe, but neutral territory that helped you see Jess again after so many years. You almost didn’t recognize him when he came in, even though he looked exactly the same. He just seemed…older. You guess you were, too.
Maria was quiet during lunch, picking at her sandwich and sending shy glances towards her father. You didn’t realize that they had the same eyes, the same suspicious furrow of their brow that showed how intelligent they were. You convinced yourself she had none of him at all.
One lunch became two, then three. Then it was routine to get lunch. At some point, it became dinners. Eventually, you let Jess take Maria out, just the two of them. She’d come home with a smile and some book he bought her. He introduced her to the Ramones (you thought she was a little young, but it wasn’t terrible, so you let it pass). She sometimes would mumble the words “Judy is a Punk” to herself while she read.
Jess became such a staple of your life that you allowed yourself to open up to him again. He was writing, getting his GED, and working on opening a publishing press with some friends. He was excited to hear you were still in college and hadn’t given up. He said the saddest thing that could’ve become of you was never realizing your potential. You had to hide your flush when he said it.
One night, when Maria was asleep, and the two of you were picking up toys in the living room, he asked you to move in with him.
“Can you even support that many people?” You scoffed, piling her books on one of the side counters.
“Yes.”
“Why?” you inquired, standing with your hands on your hips. Why was the question that haunted you throughout this entire experience. Why did he call? Why does he care? Why did he leave? Your life was dominated by the second-to-last letter of the alphabet—why?
“You guys are my family,” Jess breathed, fingers twiddling from nerves. You raised a brow, wanting more of an answer. “I had a revelation, after spending time with my Uncle…that I was terrible. I want to be better.”
You took a breath before answering. “Where do you live?”
“Stars Hollow.”
“Where’s that?”
“Connecticut.”
Your eyes bulged from your head, and if you had a drink, you would’ve spit it out.
“Jess!” You exclaimed. “That’s three hours away!”
“I’m aware since I’m the one who travels it,” Jess said, his hands in his pockets, indicating obvious discomfort. You were wrapping your brain around the fact that Jess traveled three hours every week just to get lunch with you—with your daughter—and he had never brought it up. Something shifted in your mind about that. “Look…”
“Jess–”
“I want to try again.”
“Another baby?” you exclaimed, and Jess put a hand up to his face and groaned.
“No, Jesus Christ,” he swore. He cut you off before you could say anything else. “I was a complete idiot for leaving you, for leaving Maria. I don’t deserve half the kindness you’ve given me, but, fuck, I want to try this…family thing. I want to try with you.” Jess shoved his hands in his pockets, reminding you so much of his teenage self that it was almost painful. “I want to try with us.”
It took you a second to decipher what he was saying, and you felt your eyes widen. You were never actually in a relationship with Jess, just two friends who had drank too much one night. But you always cared. You loved everything in his nature up until he left. With him back, you remembered why you felt so much in the first place.
“Okay,” you stammer, watching Jess’ eyes widen with disbelief. “Let’s try. I mean, what’s the worst that can happen?”
“We hate each other?”
“I’m looking forward to it,” you chuckle, and that coaxes a similar laugh out of Jess. You both end up dissolving into laughter, something raw and so unlike the layer of the past that has haunted you guys for the past months. It felt like a dam opening up, everything crashing down but resolving into something tangible.
A few weeks later, you move to Stars Hollow, your meager items in matching luggage. The college agreed to let you finish your degree online, and you find work at the Dragonfly Inn. The town is much more colorful and friendly than the New York you are used to. Still, you find yourself loving it—just as you find yourself loving Jess, how he responds to your daughter, and the apparent way he’s grown up.
Yes, it was unexpected. But not unwanted.

The Rules - Part 1 | Bang Chan
Pairing: Bang Chan x Reader Genre: smut, crack, strangers to lovers, Weddingl!AU Rating: M (18+) Warnings: drinking, kissing, exhibitionism, reader gets fingerfucked in public, dirty talk, a little bit of praise, Fuckboi!Chan has a tongue ring and a lip ring, his charisma is off the charts, reader's got impulse control problems Word Count: 4K Disclaimers: NSFW, obviously I don’t own SKZ - they just inspire me
Summary: When your cousin asked you to be a bridesmaid, she gave you three simple rules to follow. Number one: Don't be late. Number two: Don't get super wasted. And rule number three: Don't fuck Chan.
A/N: This came from a request sent by @aprylynn back in, ummmm, let's not focus on how long this took and just enjoy 😆 This is just part 1, so let me know what you think - like if you want more! 💕
SKZ Masterlist
(dividers by @/saradika)
When your cousin asked you to be a bridesmaid, she gave you three simple rules to follow:
Number one: Don't be late. "To be early is to be on time. To be on time is to be late. To be late is to get cut out of the family. Don't think Halmeoni won't drop you from her will if I ask."
Number two: Don't get super wasted. "What if I have a bridal emergency and you're completely zooted, upchucking wine spritzers in the bathroom?" As if you'd drink a wine spritzer.
And rule number three: Don't fuck Chan.
She announced the third rule the first time you gathered with her and her other bridesmaids to discuss wedding details. Chan, it turned out, was her fiancé's "Best Bro" from his college frat days.
"Binnie was in a frat? Huh," was your response upon learning this new factoid.
Sun Hee rolled her eyes. "I know, it's weird, but he's grown up a lot since I met him. Chan, on the other hand…" she grimaced. "He's a fuckboy. Of the highest magnitude. S-class. A summa cum fuckboy."
"More like a someone's gonna come fuckboy, amiright?" maid of honor Ji-won snarked, cracking herself up, but she quickly stopped when Sun Hee gave her the evil eye.
"And that's bad because…" you drawled.
"Because every goddamn time one of my friends hooks up with his slutty ass, they completely lose their shit. And I! Do! Not! Have the time to deal with the fallout!" Sun Hee clapped her hands after each word, like a deranged cheerleader. "So keep your hands and your holes away from that man!"
At first, when you met the groomsmen at the engagement party, you thought to yourself that Sun Hee's rule was unnecessary. Apparently, Changbin only hung out with other ridiculously good-looking guys. Any one of them could probably show you an amazing time, if you so desired.
And then Bang Chan walked in.
Out of curiosity, you'd looked the guy up, scouring Changbin's insta for old photos. Just so you could see what all the fuss was about. It was pretty easy to identify why Sun Hee's friends were apparently throwing themselves at the man, between his muscular build, his warm eyes, and his heart-melting smile. And as a semi-famous music producer, he's a star on the rise, which only adds to his allure. But holy shit, you were not prepared for the charisma.
He strolled into the room in a leather jacket like he was walking onto a stage, radiating confidence from every inch of his rather thick frame, as if expecting an audience to start applauding at his presence. Maybe that's why you weren't surprised to see Changbin and his friends light up as they caught sight of their friend.
Of course, they weren't the only ones to notice him.
"Oh damn, look at the snack that just walked in," Ji-won whispered, tugging on your sleeve. "He's tasty."
"Yeah he is," another bridesmaid, Hae, piped up. "Is it too late to call dibs?"
"Gawi bawi bo!" Ji-won suddenly yelled, but you grabbed her hand as she threw a scissors symbol into the air.
"Sorry, ladies, but the bride's rules trump rock, paper, and scissors. That's Chan."
“That’s Chan? Well, shit.” Ji-won pauses. “Okay. Dibs on Jisung!”
“Wait a minute!”
Ignoring the horny squabbling going on beside you, you discreetly ogle Chan over the rim of your cocktail. Changbin really needs to update his insta, because you were not prepared for Chan’s blond hair. Or the lip ring. Or, fuck, you nearly choke on your old fashioned as Chan laughs and something silvery inside his open mouth catches your eye. Is that a tongue ring too?!
This man could not be more your type. Absolute catnip, and your kitty is eager for a taste.
Whoa now. Deep breaths. You can do this. You have to do this, because otherwise you’ll let your cousin down. You can practically hear her disapproving tone right now.
“Don’t even think about it.”
With a startled jump, you realize Sun Hee is standing next to you.
“Think about what?” you inquire, stirring your drink super casually. Like the most casually anyone’s ever stirred anything. Unbothered little rotations.
Sun Hee is not easily dissuaded. “Don’t play dumb. You know exactly what I mean.”
“I promise you, I’m not thinking anything.” If only that were true. You’d give anything to be head empty no thoughts right now.
“I really wish I believed that,” Sun Hee sighs. “We both know you have a problem with… self-control.”
You open your mouth to argue, but she merely points to the glass in your hand, and you quickly snap it shut. You’ve only been at the party for maybe half an hour, and this is your second drink.
Sun Hee’s not wrong. It’s well known to all your friends that you have a tendency to eagerly embrace all the delights life has to offer. Maybe “eagerly” isn’t the right word. “Greedily” might be more accurate. Often, unfortunately, to your detriment. But how can you resist, when the universe is constantly throwing so many pleasures your way - especially when they come in such gorgeous packages as Chan?
“Yeah, okay, maybe sometimes I indulge myself a little, but I told you I wouldn’t sleep with him, so relax, okay? I’m not going to do anything to ruin your big day. I promise you!”
Sun Hee squints as she examines your face. Whatever she sees makes her smile, shoulders dropping in relief. “Thank you. Now let’s get this party started!”
As she and Changbin greet their guests, you take another long look at Chan. He turns suddenly, catching your eye. Your breathing nearly stops when his gaze sweeps over you from head to toe. Then he smirks, tongue ring flashing as he licks his lips.
Fuck. Okay. You can do this. You just need to exert a little willpower. Reign in those bad instincts of yours. Should be a piece of cake.
Right?
Somehow, the god of parties is on your side. Maybe it’s the drink you spill as you look for a spot to sit for dinner that pleases them - your tipsy faux pas is accepted as an offering. Whatever the reason, you manage to dodge Chan all evening.
He does offer you the seat next to him at dinner, but Ji-won waves you over to her table, so you refuse him with a polite shake of your head. Ji-won quickly engages you in assisting her with talking to Jisung, but all you end up saying is “Hey Jisung, haaave you met Ji-won?” before Ji-won takes over. Gal’s a talker, which is good, because Jisung’s a bit on the quiet side. Or maybe he just can’t find a place to jump into the conversation, since Ji-won doesn’t appear to need to breathe in order to speak.
After dinner comes more cocktails and gifts. While the maid of honor hands out gifts for Sun Hee and Changbin to open, you ignore Chan’s smile in favor of writing a list of who brought what, to help your cousin with her thank you notes later. Your Halmeoni would be so proud.
By the time the festivities wind down, you feel you’ve dodged a bullet. As everyone says their goodbyes, you linger behind, helping your cousin and Changbin carry their ridiculous haul of presents into their car. The trunk is stuffed full as you attempt to shove one more box onto the pile, only for an avalanche of ribbons and envelopes to send it clattering to the ground.
“Here, let me,” a pleasant voice hums in your ear as your fingers extend, reaching for the box, only for it to be swept up by another hand. And, of course, that hand is connected to the man you’ve been carefully avoiding all night. Guess the party gods have abandoned you.
“Thank you,” you reply politely, studiously avoiding his eyes as Chan beams at you. Jesus, he could literally light up a room with that megawatt smile.
“No worries.” He helps to push some of the packages back, preventing another deluge. “I’m Chan, by the way. I didn’t get a chance to introduce m’self earlier.”
You grant him a quick smile as you state your name, then glance over his shoulder, looking for backup - someone you can excuse yourself to catch up to, pretend they’re your ride home. But of course, everyone else is gone now, and your cousin and Changbin are back inside the restaurant, settling the bill.
“Am I holding you up from something?”
“Hmm?” You finally let yourself meet his gaze. It’s like you’ve been hit with the full force of the sun. Chan’s smile intensifies, eyes crinkling as he laughs lightly, and it’s too late, you can already feel yourself melting.
“You look like you’re looking for something. Or someone?”
“Oh. No, sorry, I was just making sure I hadn’t dropped anything on the way to the car,” you lie, clearing your throat awkwardly.
Chan nods, sliding his hands into his pockets as he leans against the car. “So… you’re Sun Hee’s cousin, right?”
You nod.
“She told me that you live here too,” he says. “It’s been years since I’ve been in town. I was thinking - since I’m gonna be here a few times between now and the wedding, I should find someone who can show me around a bit. Let me know what’s good.” He rolls his tongue over his lip ring. “Think you could help me out?”
Every time he drags his eyes down your body, you have to suppress a shiver of anticipation. He’s being incredibly obvious about what he means by showing him what’s good.
“I - “ can’t think of a valid excuse because you’re too busy picturing what he can do with that tongue ring. “I don’t know how much free time I’ll have, with everything Sun Hee needs me to do for the wedding. She’s gonna be so busy. So, um, I don’t think I can. Help you.” Not your smoothest response, but not the worst, either.
Chan’s eyebrow rises slightly. He looks away, nodding. “Right, of course. Can’t let your cousin down, can ya? So…” He pushes himself off the car, taking a step towards you. “What about tonight then? Any plans?”
Not a single one. An alarm goes off in your head as he takes another step closer. “Tonight?”
“Yeah. Maybe we could go somewhere and talk? I know I could just ask ‘Bin for suggestions, but…” he shrugs. “He’s pretty busy too. And honestly? He’s gotten all mellow on me. Too boring and settled-down, y’know?”
You laugh at his bluntness. “Binnie’s always been this way, as long as I’ve known him. You’re telling me he used to be different?”
“Oh, you have no idea,” he hums, winking. “The stories I could tell… why don’t you let me buy you a drink, and maybe I’ll share a few?”
It’s very tempting, especially the thought of hearing some (hopefully) embarrassing tales about Changbin. Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad? One drink wouldn’t be too much, even given how much you’ve already had this evening. You’ll give him some suggestions of places to check out while he’s in town, he’ll divulge some of Binnie’s college shenanigans, and then you’ll say you’re tired and bounce. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
And then suddenly it’s two hours and several drinks later, and you’re nowhere near home.
You had originally suggested going to a favorite spot, a bar owned by a friend where you could drink for cheap (and also potentially have someone who could bail you out if things with Chan got a little hot and heavy), but upon arriving had found it closed for repairs of some sort. Chan’s hotel just happened to be a block away and it just happened to have a really nice bar, so you thought, why not?
Why not, indeed, you’re thinking to yourself, playing with the melting ice in your empty glass. Why not sit side-by-side in the booth, so you can hear each other better? You really didn’t want to miss a single word he said. Why not let Chan drape his arm around your shoulders, since the bar has the air conditioning set to arctic blast and your sundress is not nearly as warm as its namesake?
Chan has been nothing but a polite gentleman since you sat down, keeping you laughing with all of his deliciously embarrassing tales, to the point that your worries about crossing the line so firmly set by Sun Hee fade from your mind.
“And after that, we were banned from ever visiting Ikea again,” Chan finishes, a crooked grin crossing his face as he waits for you to stop laughing.
You wipe a tear from the corner of your eye. “I cannot believe Binnie did that! That is… just the greatest story I’ve ever heard,” you inform him. “Thank you so, so much for sharing that.”
Chan nods, leaning back against the vinyl of the booth seat. “Now, you’re not gonna run off and snitch to Changbin, are you? Tell him I’ve divulged all his dirty secrets?”
You press your hand to your chest, looking scandalized. “Absolutely not! I would never. Everything you’ve told me stays with me.” You pause. “Until I need it.”
“Fair.” His grin returns, cheekier than ever. “If you’re gonna use it for blackmail, I will be expecting a cut. Just to warn ya.”
A server stops by your table to grab your empty glasses and drop off the check. It feels like the perfect opportunity to bring the night to a close - thank Chan for the drinks, since he didn’t even attempt to argue with you about paying, simply dropped his card on the tray, thank him for the gossip, and bid him a good evening.
But no. You’re you, and so instead of saying “Thank you” or “Good night,” you say,
“I think we could come to an arrangement.”
Chan tilts his head, eyes roaming from your smiling lips down to your goose-dimpled thighs and back, and you realize you may have miscalculated a bit. Because the sweet expression on his face has vanished, replaced by a look of hunger so ravenous, your pulse quickens - the primal reaction of prey realizing it’s exactly where a hunter wants it.
“Could we now?” He shifts slightly, the arm around your shoulders falling between you as he signs the receipt. He taps the pen on the table. “I like the sound of that.”
You do too, which is why there are klaxons suddenly blaring in your head. You should really leave. Instead of sliding further into the corner of the booth as Chan casually leans forward, blocking your view of the rest of the bar.
That’s when the hand that was at Chan’s side creeps its way onto your exposed thigh.
“I…” you trail off, totally engrossed by his fingers as they roam, unable to tear your eyes away. They’re more callused than you’d expected, roughened tips catching slightly on your soft skin in an enticing manner. “I do too.”
He’s just a whisper away now, deep brown eyes fixed on your mouth as he smiles, a warm thing that sharpens as he says, “Maybe we should hammer out some terms? Y’know, just in case? We don’t have to talk here…” His hand slips ever so slightly down the inward curve of your thigh. “We can take this to my room. For privacy. Unless…”
Sucking in a breath, you meet his eyes, and let your legs fall open just a bit. Chan huffs out a pleased laugh and his hand disappears beneath your skirt.
The klaxons in your brain are completely silent now, but thankfully the bar is not. The jazzy music drifting down from the overhead speakers covers your tiny whimper when Chan skims his fingers along the newly formed damp patch in your underwear.
“Mmm, someone seems to be into the idea of being touched in public. Are you into that, love?”
As a matter of fact, you are, and it’s one of the many vices that’s gotten you in trouble in the past. You just can’t help yourself. Just like right now, even knowing you should walk away, that you might make a mess of things, you’re unable to stop.
You don’t want to stop, so you nod.
He arranges himself so he’s propped his head up on his elbow on the table. To anyone looking at your table, it just looks like the two of you are absorbed in deep conversation, huddled close, but not close enough to cause anyone’s eye to linger.
Or so you hope, biting your lip to stifle a whine when Chan’s fingers push your panties aside.
“Good. Cause I am, too.” And then he’s pressed his finger inside you, groaning quietly at how easily it glides through your folds. His tongue plays with the small hoop nestled in the center of his plush bottom lip. “Oh, shit, you really like this. So fucking wet, dirty girl.”
There’s no reason to argue with him. If it wasn’t clear by the ridiculous amount of slick between your legs, it’s clear by the way you cant your hips forward, trying to urge him to slip his whole middle finger in too as he teases you with the tip. With a throaty chuckle, he obliges.
“There you go. Is that what you needed?”
“Mmm,” you hum, muffling your moan with pursed lips. He strokes inside you languidly, enjoying the choked breaths that punch their way out of your throat, before adding another finger.
You bow your head slightly, trying to hide behind Chan, who leans forward with a smirk, close enough for his lips to brush your cheek. If you turned your face a little, you could kiss him right now, but you’re too focused on the way he’s playing your pussy like one of his soundboards, tweaking and fondling just right, to do anything but try to breathe.
“Can I tell you something?” he whispers.
“A-anything.”
“I had my eye on you all during the party. Kept trying to get your attention, wanted to convince you to go home with me tonight. ‘M glad it worked out.”
“Who, hnngh, who said I’m going home with you?” you manage to spit out around your groans.
Chan’s fingers still. “Wait, you don’t wanna come back to my room?”
“I didn’t say that.” The look he gives you makes you feel dangerous, having such an irresistible man hanging on your every word. It’s such an intoxicating power. “I just meant I’m not convinced y-yet, fuck.”
You stutter as Chan starts tracing your inner walls, caressing your g-spot hard enough to make you curse. He’s accepted the gauntlet you’ve thrown down with surprising speed, and you suck on the insides of your cheeks, biting gently into your own mouth to keep from shouting out loud.
“Something you should know about me, love - ‘m a bit competitive. I don’t back down from challenges.”
Chan’s fingers plunge faster and faster, alternating thrusts with strokes. The more his speed increases, the more his arm flexes, biceps rippling under his tight t-shirt. If the bartender were to just glance over, he’d see the way your head is tipped back in ecstasy, and there’s no denying the pleasure flitting across your face. You could be caught so easily.
“Look at you, taking it so well. Bet you’d look so good taking my cock.”
Your eyes fall to the obvious bulge in Chan’s lap. You just know he’d feel so good. Why didn’t you take this to his room? You could be riding him right now.
Oh well, you’ll just have to let him keep fingering you until you cum all over his hand in the middle of this bar.
You’re getting close now, but his plunging fingers aren’t quite enough to give you what you so desperately desire. Unashamed to beg for what you want, you gasp out, “More,” hands balling into fists as tight as the knot inside you.
Chan smirks. His thumb finds your clit. You find the edge. And fall right over.
“Shiiiiit,” you groan, thighs twitching together, muscles contracting to trap Chan’s hand as an orgasm overtakes you, shockingly fast. So he doesn’t back down from challenges and he’s an overachiever.
“There you go, love,” he coos. Your abdomen shakes from the force of your climax. He slowly circles your oversensitive nub until he finally stops, and one final shudder passes through you. “Made such a mess for me.”
Your only response is a string of curse words that would send Halmeoni right to her grave. Chan laughs, bringing his hand to his mouth, and you swear again as he thoroughly cleans his fingers with his tongue, rolling the little stud over and around.
“Have I convinced you now?” he asks, eyes gleaming, tone smug. So, so smug. It’s almost shameful how hot you find that.
You’re definitely convinced of his skills. And if you go back to his room with him, there’s no telling what other talents he might share.
Then again… if he works this hard to impress you now….
With a polite smile, you gently pat his arm, silently asking him to give you some space to shimmy your panties back into place. His eyebrow lifts as he waits for your answer.
“Not really.”
Based on his dazed expression, it’s pretty evident that Chan has never gotten anything less than a rave response to his skills. How absolutely delightful. Your shoulders shake with suppressed laughter as he blinks at you.
“Thank you for the drinks. But I should really get going, got a ton of stuff to do with Sun Hee in the morning.” Not a total lie, since you do have plans for brunch with your cousin and the other bridesmaids. But brunch never usually stops you from anything.
“Come on, love - you really want to leave now?” He’s recovered from his shock, bringing a hand up to cup your cheek. “The night’s just getting started. That was just a small taste of what could happen.” He leans in, lips just brushing your ear as he murmurs, “Don’t you want more?”
Chan’s a fighter. Good to know.
“Mmm, maybe. But not tonight.”
He pulls back, searching your gaze. “You’re sure?”
“Yeah, I’m sure.” You laugh, nudging him with your knee. Chan slowly rises to his feet, shuffling aside to let you out of the booth. The stupefied look is back. Baffled hunter realizing his trap didn’t spring.
“Well… if you change your mind, you know where I am. Room 143.”
He rubs the back of his neck as he speaks, and there’s something kind of sweet about it, like he’s a little unsure of himself, possibly for the first time in his life, so you place your hands lightly on his chest. Damn, he’s so solid. He could definitely rail you through the wall of this bar, if you so asked.
But not tonight.
“Sweet dreams, Chan.” Your words warms his lips as you cross the space between you. Even though his hands grip your hips, even though his tongue tastes like scotch, even though the moan he exhales sends shivers from your head to your toes, you break away, and head for the door.
As you sit in the lobby, waiting for your ride, it’s impossible not to pat yourself on the back, gloating over your victory. You kept your promise to your cousin and got to tease an incredibly hot man into giving you an orgasm at the same time. But what strikes you the most was the wild glint you saw in Chan’s eye as you walked away.
This is going to be so much fun.
