I am so sick, I feel like a dying little orphan boy with the weakest cough looking up at his mother and asking if he’ll be able to frolick with his 13 siblings in the springtime again. The only thing I’ve eaten since Wednesday is one singular pickle, I’ve been asleep most of the time, and I can barely swallow medicine.

The longest I’ve been able to stay awake in a row is 2-3 hours(I think) and that’s only been to watch Starlight Express so I can have a year long streak of watching it everyday. My dreams are filled with thoughts of the beach that makes you old, those stupid(/affectionately) voice effects on older Starlight Express components, and Gardetto’s original snack mix.

I can barely keep my eyes on a screen anymore, I have to LISTEN to my YouTube videos. What has this world come to? I can’t doomscroll without putting my phone down in 2 minutes because I’m “feeling bad”. What is this? It’s laughable, my ailment is ruining my chronically online mentality. What if I miss some corny joke that lasts for 2 days?

DIY Furikake Chex Mix (Small Batch)

This healthier Hawaiian-style furikake chex mix is a salty, savory, and sweet snack that's perfect for potlucks and movie nights.

5 C Corn Chex

5 C Rice Chex

6 Tbsp butter

1-1/2 Tbsp soy sauce

1/2 Tbsp vegan fish sauce (or real fish sauce)

1/2 Tbsp mirin

4 tsp Niji-iro tōgarashi

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 C French's crispy fried onions

1 Tbsp furikake

2 C (1 can) Hapi mixed crackers

1/2 C sriracha peas

Put cereal into a deep cookie sheet. Melt butter with sauces and spices and stir. Pour the butter mixture over the cereal and stir until all pieces are coated evenly.

Cook in a 250°F oven for an hour total. Every 15 minutes, mix thoroughly. Add crispy fried onions for last 15 minutes.

After cooking, add furikake, mixed crackers, and sriracha peas.

Mix well and store in an airtight container.
