Steve is up past his bedtime.

(Because he's in his mid-fifties and needs one of those now).

It's 2:30 in the morning and he's awake, sitting in bed with a book and doing his best to ignore the dull ache of exhaustion because his oldest daughter, Moe, hasn't come home yet.

He keeps glancing at his phone, waiting for the screen to light up with a notification from the Ring doorbell they've had up and running for a few years.

Steve had been on the fence about getting it installed, but Eddie wanted it (and it was that or the touch screen toaster, and Steve didn't think he'd be able to take his kitchen seriously with a touch screen toaster).

The late-2000s had turned Eddie into a tech guy. Steve isn't sure if it should have come as a surprise to him or not, but it's true either way. Their kids are 1000x more proficient with it, for sure, but they also grew up with it. The last time the girls were really impressed was when their local Pizza Hut got one of those big touch screen soda machines, but Eddie is pretty much guaranteed to be into anything with a touch screen, anything he can control on his phone.

Steve, on the other hand, reached his capacity for technology with the 2nd gen iPad, which is still up and running even in the 2020s and he still uses it to play Hay Day with Hazel despite being practically the last people on Earth doing it. He’s not interested in any of the new stuff.

The one thing Steve was totally game for was getting a Ring doorbell, because with the girls old enough to come and go mostly as they please, it’s nice to have a better sense of those comings and goings.

It wasn't easy for Steve – relinquishing some control to give their daughters the independence that they'd be chasing whether they had permission or not, but the girls have called their dads to get them out of sticky situations enough times for Steve to know they're making the right decision, even if he doesn't like it.

Ridiculous as it feels, that silly smart doorbell does actually provide him with a small sense of relief.

As is proven yet again when his phone lights up with the long-awaited Ring notification.

"Jesus Christ, finally," Steve mutters, and Eddie, who'd been dozing off by his side, lifts his head.

"She's back?" he asks.

Steve nods.

The notification opens in time for them to see Moe stumbling up the porch steps. There's a boy her age – unfamiliar to Steve even up close – watching her warily from a few paces back. She's wrapped in a big sweatshirt and cradling a greasy Domino's bag like she'd used to hold her stuffed animals.

Moe grapples for the door before pausing and leaning towards the camera.

"Sorry Papa," she mumbles, shaking her wrecked bangs out of her eyes.

"Oh, look at her, hitting you with the Papa because she knows it makes you go soft," Eddie says with a smirk, "No apology for me though, that's kind of bullshit."

Steve shakes his head with a snort.

Moe finally gets the door open and makes her way inside. They hear the sound of the door closing downstairs a split second before it comes through the phone. The boy waits until she's inside before waving weakly at the camera.

"Uh...I'm Nate," Nate says, looking completely exhausted and sounding as if he regrets addressing the camera to begin with, "I'm sober. I drove her home. There’s, uh…I gotta get other people home."

Steve snorts as he watches the boy turn and walk back down the porch steps.

"Poor kid. Long night – closest Dominos is, like, thirty minutes from here."

"Jesus," Eddie shakes his head, "Think Moe would be totally mortified if we tracked him down to say thank you?"

"Yes."

"Sweet, sounds like a plan.”

Summary: You agree to help your brother Butcher by spying on Homelander during a Vought party.

You were Billy Butcher's little sister, you hadn't seen him in a while, he was always a tough guy who liked to get into trouble for anything and with anyone, you could tell he got worse mentally after Becca disappeared, since then, you rarely saw him, not even at christmas time, where the two of you always got together to eat at night and put up the christmas tree. You felt sad about this, you were always attached to him, he was always the one who protected you and taught you about the evils of the world.

You were sitting on the couch in your apartment watching the news, it was always the same nonsense they repeated, Homelander saves the world once again, Vought, bla bla bla. Your doorbell rang, making you look at the door, you were surprised because you hadn't called anyone or ordered dinner. You opened the door, coming face to face with Butcher.

“Billy? My God!"

You smiled happily and hugged him tightly, feeling his hands squeeze you. You let go and he closed the door, entering your house and sitting on the couch, looking with a frown at the television that showed Homelander's face on the screen, he turned off the TV.

"We need to talk."

“You were missing for months, i thought you were dead or the police had caught you.”

You sat next to him on the couch.

“I know, sorry. But the situation is really complicated, i need your help.”

"What can i do for you?"

“I need you to go to a party today and try to get close to someone.... Homelander.”

He says a little apprehensive and the smile disappears from your face. You knew very well who Homelander was and what he was capable of off camera, just as you know Billy's hatred for him.

"I... how?"

"You're not known, Vought knows me and the boys and won't let us near him, i need you to bug him."

“What if this doesn’t work?”

I asked worriedly.

“It will work, you are smart and you are my little sister, i will always protect you.”

The long tight dress that served to highlight your curves made you uncomfortable, but Billy assured you that the more you attracted attention, the better it would be, you sighed, taking another champagne from the tray of a waiter who passed by you.

"Stop drinking. You shouldn't get drunk."

You heard Billy's voice coming from the device in your ear that was covered by your hair. Your eyes rolled back and you wondered if this was really worth doing.

“What is a pretty girl doing alone on this beautiful night?”

You heard that voice coming from behind you and your blood froze for a few moments, you turned around seeing Homelander looking at you with a smile.

“I… I came alone.”

You responded nervously and he grabbed your hand, giving it a kiss.

“Well, now you’re not alone anymore. I'm Homelander, but you probably already know that, after all, everyone knows me as the most powerful man in the world.”

He boasted and you couldn't help but laugh, starting to laugh, the smile on his face disappearing immediately.

"What's the fun?"

“I’m so sorry, it’s so funny to hear that in person.”

You recovered, wiping away some of the tears that fell from your eyes.

“Don’t you think im the most powerful man in the world? Who are you?"

He asked looking at you with disdain.

“I’m Liz.”

You told him your fake name, Vought knew Billy had a sister but they didn't know your face, only your name. Homelander smiles again, maybe he is a bipolar.

“So, Liz...Why don't you come with me? I can show you the building.”

"Follow him, go."

Billy whispered softly and you smiled at the blonde, starting to follow him through the huge building. It was something extremely luxurious and completely out of your reality, you looked at everything impressed, until you came face to face with a huge photo of his face pasted on the wall. It was weird.

"It's beautiful, is not it?"

"Yes...."

You lied and he looked proudly at his own image on the wall and you realized how narcissistic he is, but you couldn't say anything so you just nodded. The two of you entered his office, it was certainly the most luxurious one there, with several expensive pieces and security cameras everywhere, which could be a problem for you if someone saw you tapping the camera in some corner.

"Do you want something to drink?"

He asked, grabbing a bottle of wine from a mini freezer there.

“No, i already drank too much today.”

You rejected it, you couldn't trust him and accept a drink. He turned his back.

“Accept the drink! He needs to trust you."

Billy whispered and you wanted to kill him in that moment.

"You said to stop drinking!"

You whispered back and Homelander turned around again looking at you confused.

"Did you say something?"

He asked and you gave an awkward smile.

“I talked to myself, it’s a strange habit.”

He just ignored it and drank a glass of wine, sitting next to you, you felt nervous with his presence so close to you.

“I can hear your heart from far away. Why are you so nervous?"

You looked at him.

"I..."

"It's okay, i understand, all women are like this by my side, they never resist my charm, being a handsome man is sometimes..."

You couldn't stand listening to his irritating voice any longer so you just shut him up by kissing his lips, to your surprise he responded immediately and grabbed your waist, placing you on his lap.

"Y/N!!!! Get out of there! That's not the way to approach him!!!!"

You heard Billy's angry whispers, but you just ignored him, Homelander ran his hands over your body in a hurry and needily, then he kissed your neck, putting your hair to the side, suddenly he stopped and you opened your eyes, looking at him.

"What is that?"

He pulled the device from your ear, revealing the bug, you felt your blood run cold as he looked at you with a deadly look. Fuck. fuck. fuck.

"I... I have hearing problems, i don't hear very well from far away. It's a hearing aid!"

You laugh nervously and try to take the device from his hand, but he grabs your wrist tightly, you groan in pain but it doesn't seem to bother him.

"Don't lie to me. It's a wiretap, isn't it?"

"If you already know, why are you asking?"

You asked sarcastically, he pushed you against the couch and pinned you underneath him, with his knee on your stomach.

“Watch your mouth.”

You knew there was no way to fight him, he would probably kill you before you even tried to react, Billy was probably on his way to try and rescue you, but he wouldn't get there in time.

"You'll kill me?"

You asked a little afraid and he laughed, he tried to kiss you and you turned your face away, so he grabbed your arms tighter making you complain.

"Kill you? Nah, you're too pretty to waste like that. I think i could use it a little."

He crushed the wiretap with one hand, scaring you, he seemed to enjoy seeing you scared of him, it made him feel more powerful than he already was. Homelander's hands grabbed your waist, squeezing it, you felt his lips on your neck leaving kisses there, you closed your eyes and grabbed his arms. Maybe fuck with him would be better than getting into trouble and ending up with yourself being killed by his laser.

"I knew you wouldn't resist."

He smiled proudly and your eyes rolled back instantly, his hand grabbed your chin, squeezing it tightly making you look at him. If he wanted to, he would have broken your jaw right then.

"Do that again and i ll make sure to burn those pretty curious eyes of yours."

He seriously threatened and you swallowed hard, Homelander was the worst kind of person to challenge and you knew that very well. You remained in absolute silence and he continued to kiss your neck while his hands roamed your body, you were torn between your body denying his touches or accepting all the touches and everything that would come later. His hands went to your dress, pulling up your skirt, showing ur blue panties.

“Blue is the color of my uniform, it’s almost like you’re a fan.”

He boasted again and you wondered if maybe it was more worth taking a laser beam to the forehead than listening to his narcissism. He pulled down the top part of your dress, revealing your breasts since you weren't wearing a bra, his eyes lit up seeing that and soon you felt his tongue in desperation surrounding your nipple while his other hand squeezed your other breast. You moaned loudly, you didn't want to admit it, but his tongue really felt good. Then his hand went down to your core, where he pushed your panties to the side and invaded you with his fingers, you let out a moan of pain because it was something unexpected, you felt like you were in heaven receiving his touches.

That's when you heard a loud knock on the door and before you could react the door was opened, revealing Ashley.

"Homelander! You have to.... OH MY GOD!"

She screamed in despair and covered her eyes with the clipboard, you held back your laughter and he seemed to be angry that she had interrupted you two.

“ASHLEY!”

He shouted angrily, his face red.

"I did not see anything! I did not see anything!"

She defended herself by running out of the office before he could probably kill her, your hand discreetly went to ur bag that was nearby, while Homelander was still trying to calm down, so you took the pepper spray that Billy had given you and shot it at Homelander's eyes, who screamed in pain, moving away from you and falling to the ground, you adjusted your dress covering your nakedness.

"Really fucking with the enemy isn't for me."

You told him before running out of the room before he fully recovered and came after you, which he would definitely do soon, you walked through the halls and left through the emergency exit finding Billy's car waiting for you, opening the back door Hughie pulled you inside, that's when a red laser beam hit the part you were on, almost hitting your head and blowing it off. You saw Homelander at the end of the hallway fuming.

“You don’t mess with Butcher’s sister, idiot! ”

Hughie shouted before Billy sped up the car getting you both out of there before another bolt of lightning was fired there.

“HUGHIE!!! What was this idea of almost having sex with that asshole?"

Billy shouted angrily at Hughie and looked at you in the rearview mirror, he still seemed a little disturbed by the things he had heard through the bug.

“Works, Billy, works…Better than he kill me”

“Well, let's take extra care with our work since your "work" now knows who you are thanks to Hughie's open mouth, and will definitely come after you to finish the job."

“I will wait for him then.”

You really didn't expect to get this far

literally and figuratively.

Arriving at the gated estate full of pine trees and golden fences, on the tall menacing gate before you was a entry buzzer, roughly, you pressed the button, a ring resounding from the buzzer on the outside post was heard echoing around the woods.

You weren't expecting to immediately be let in, the dark metallic gates opening before you effortlessly.

Pausing you looked around cautiously; no way your boss just let you in.

But you couldnt back down now was what encouraged you to walk up the winding driveway leading past the numerous gardens and waterways connecting to a massive renaissance fountain in the center of the estate further back.

Keeping your eyes peeled for any witnesses it seemed his sprawling estate was deserted.

Only after a few more minutes of walking, you made it to the illustserous main house.

You knew him being a multi billionaire would entail a huge house, but not to the extent of having a house as big as a small town.

At the doorstep, you observed his three doorway poarch the doors were made of a see-through glass with frosted tint coating said doors. Being able to see the interior of his spiraling house with dark wooden floors and almost minimal walls but nothing more without walking up to the door to look in.

Taking note of the garage next to the doorway along with a ten foot tall ornamental tree, you notived the massive garage was open with a several expensive cars sitting there,ominously, lined up in order of price most likely.

Noting Azul was no where to be found you approached the door in the middle looking for, something, to announce your presence.

Finally you spotted a doorbell, quickly you went to where the smart doorbell was.

you had your finger extended but before you could ring he doorbell, a hand was firmly pressed onto your shoulder.

With a hard swallow, you retracted your hand.

Turning, you were met with your enemy.

Azul Ashengrotto.

"No need for that, I'm already ready to depart"

You only looked stoic at him.

"You said you'd be here 30 minutes ago," He replied in his usual business tone.

Azul was wearing an expensive camping long-sleeve shirt you'd seen at designer sports stores, almost as much as your rent was if you had to make a guess was what he wore on his body along with matching hiking khakis.

It almost seemed like he was dressed up for someone.

Other than that, he didn't look noticeably different from how you'd normally see him in the office.

Including his scowl that was practically oozing discomfort.

"just traffic, the walk up from where I parked didnt help either," you shrugged hoping your answer would appease him.

Not like you cared for his response, though.

waiting for a snide remark about your outfit or about your flimsy excuse it was silent for way too long.

Looking over at your boss instead of seeing him disgusted you watched him look you up from head to toe.

"it seems you decided to dress more feminine today" azul smirked, "it looks good on you I can actually see your body more in detail"

If only there wasnt so many cameras and possible witnesses out of sight...

Before you could stay angry however, he tossed you a black rectangular item, looking closer you realized it was a Electric car key.

Of course, he's rich enough to have a keyless car.

Azul walked off towards a car parked the furthest in the garage, looking in the back of the trunk you could see almost ten bags of god knows what stacked neatly in the deep trunk bed.

Thank god he did; easier to hide your lucky bag.

You load your "bag" into his trunk with hesitancy, loading it into the back of all the luggage so it wouldn't be of note to him or anyone looking through the trunk if the worst case scenario occurs.

"Is that all you brought?" Azul abruptly says from behind you causing a flinch from you.

He probably only was watching to make sure you didnt steal his luggage.

"It didn't seem necessary to bring much," you murmured, closing the trunk you walked towards the drivers side.

You got inside as fast as you could into the car first almost about to put the key inside when you realized Azul was still outside.

He seemingly was looking through his luggage off course confirming your earlier suspicions.

Ignoring him, you looked for the start button eventually finding it next to the console.

Pressing the ignition button, a jolt of worry from this morning stung you.

Why was this going too well?

Does he know I'm going to get my long-desired revenge?

Maybe this is a set up he probably is going to lure me there and Jade and the police will be waiting to-

"Never driven a car like this before or what?" Azul mocked this from his side in the passenger seat as he started buckling himself in closing the door with a hard slam.

"It's automatic; all you do is press the screen twice, put your location in, and then you steer once every 30 minutes," he explained, idly combing his finger into his hair seemingly in his own little world.

The mountain specifically.

You grabbed the steering wheel after you entered the directions to the campsite.

"Now drive"

The first 2 hours of the drive, nothing eventful happened, which intensified your sense of dread that kept sticking to you.

You tried to preoccupy your mind with softball, Jade, and your boyfriend. Azul was looking out the windows or would check his phone and fidget with it for moments at a time.

If you really focused on the winding roads that led the two of you deeper into the evergreen sea of trees, it almost felt like he wasn't there.

Until the beginning of hour 3.

You had been focusing on directing the bulky steering wheel getting it to turn on the windy passage up the mountain when you felt something weird.

Right.

Left.

Right.

Your hands around the steering wheel tightened.

Looking over pretending to fix the mirror was when you saw Azul.

Azul had been staring at you.

You looked again through your peripheral vision.

A pair of cerulean peered back towards you.

You had no idea what was behind his locked on stare, it was more annoying to you seeing him gawking at you if anything.

"You seem tired (name)"

Oh here it comes...

"Do you want me to drive?" Azul asked as he shifted his position from his seat.

He was now facing you directly with the same sickening look on his face to receive from someone who'd been cruel to you for so many years.

"Why do you ask Mr. Ashengrotto? We're almost there, but if you need to stretch, there's several rest stops and one gas station before we get to our destination," you gripped the steering wheel harder.

The mask is back on.

"Im merely suggesting so you can have enough..."

Suddenly his hands curled around your clothed thigh before vigorously kneading it.

"Energy for later," Azul smiled his gaze now looking up your side profile again.

"Thanks, but I'll be fine, Mr. Ashengrotto."

"Azul"

Azul then placed his hand onto your thigh giving it a gentle squeeze.

The discomfort was unbearable.

But you reassured yourself you had approximately 1 hour, 40 minutes, and 50 seconds to get ready for the next and last phase of your plan for revenge.

Out of the sea of evergreen trees you both found yourselfs surrounded by canyons and revines alongside occasional thick redwood trees and a few meadows scattered about.

10 feet to your destination.

A vast clearing overlooked a ravine that would lead up to one of the mountain structures besides the campground, and behind the cute little wooden cabins lining the rough rocky road was a unmistakable towering mountain.

The oppressive nature it had was hauntingly beautiful; you had to admire it from all sides in your mind.

The familiar camping ground your company always had events at was finally right in front of you.

You awkwardly parked the car next to the first cabin reserved for Mostro Inc.

Furthest from all the cabins...

Turning the ignition off, Azul immediately got out and walked towards the cabin, stretching and eventually reaching for his phone to call someone you couldn't quite pick up.

Good.

You watched him disappear, guessing Azul wanted to go to the cabin to see if it was to his taste.

Hastily, you popped the trunk and grabbed some of his bags, noticing most were arranged differently from before.

You knew he would scold you if he didnt have access to his bag for a few moments too long.

Grabbing the expensive hard case luggage two at a time you began to approach the open door.

You entered the cabin to reveal it to be an ordinary cabin.

Definitely worn from the conditions it would face from various seasons, but it had a touched-up quality to it, with a very comfortingly decorated entrance way leading to a small kitchen and living room full of cute camping decorations reminiscent of a cozy fall cottage.

To the right was a presumed guest room, which only had a full-sized bed with a whole antique wardobe, a bedside lamp, and one small window. On the opposite side of the hallway was the actual master bedroom of sorts.

It had a queen-sized bed with a built-in closet and bathroom you were about to further inspect it when you unexpectedly caught him walking out of the bathroom.

With something in his hands, one hand had something that was reminscent of...

Personal lubricant the label read.

His other hand contained a few pills you didnt recognize.

Weird.

"Mr- I mean Azul. I have some bags here"

"I'm not sure if you want me to get the rest of your luggage or-"

You held up the luggage youd brought hoping you could dash away from whatever was happening in front of you.

"Of course" he briefly answered.

You rolled the luggage towards the door when Azul suddenly spoke.

"Actually, can you set those bags in the kitchen?"He pointed at the bags you had.

You thought you misheard him.

Flashing a smile you quickly walked away into the kitchen to set them by the wooden coffee table in the center of it.

You turned around to walk back out when your eye was caught on the two glasses set on the counter. It seemed as if whoever had stayed here last had left some items.

Immediately you realized what Azul was most likely doing, shaking your head in disgust at the thought of your boss using the cabins you all used as his personal getaway for his many women.

Trying to push the image of Azul having sex out of your mind you walked back outside, almost knocking yourself against the heavy lock that was on the door.
