           Damn. Damn it all! He should have known better than to fly over them like that! He should have known that they’d fire upon him and hit his ship! Now she, the Strahl, was unfortunately grounded and Balthier was sat just a little ways away, silently fuming. He’s far from any sort of town to get any sort of supplies for repair and he certainly doesn’t want to leave his dear ship here for some scavengers to pick apart! He’s stuck and he’s not sure of what to do in this moment- then he see’s something moving.

          Brandishing his smaller pistol, Balthier’s senses are all working overdrive for any sign of danger. He stands from his position and holds his pistol up, ready to fire if he needed to.

          “Alright, come on out. I know you’re there.”

Well! This Noctis over yonder is such a papa’s boy it’s embarrassing. I take the Nier Automata story as canon too and it depicts Noctis has a boy who just wants a regular ol’ bedtime story from his dad but he knows how important his dad is and that a king must not be disturbed.

FUCKING RIGHT??? Do people expect Regis to be there 24/7? I’m sure he wanted to be when Noctis was young. Hell, he left his own city in the hands of his counsel to bring his son to enemy territory, KNOWING THE RISKS, KNOWING LUCIS COULD LOSE A KING, just to save his son’s life. He put Noctis’ life before his own. 

AND HE STILL ALTERED HISTORY SO HIS SON WOULDN’T BE ALONE WHEN IT ALL GOES TO SHIT *weeps into hands* he knows he can’t be next to noctis, so he ensures there are people who will be. NOT A PERFECT MAN BUT HE TRIED. Most fathers can’t even fucking say that. Mine constantly took me to bars. Peanuts were my dinner, tho the waitresses would always let me order something off the menu ;_; and they’d let me sleep in the back booths.

What is/was your character’s relationship with their father like?

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS: HARD MODE | ACCEPTING

I’ll talk about his adoptive father, because we all know his real one is an asshole and he hates him :P So for his adoptive one… It’s a weird, complicated relationship. Prompto grew up with parents that were never there because they worked too much. He was closer to his father than to his mother though, because his father at least talked to him and seemed interested in what he was doing… when he was around, of course. They never were as close as Prompto would have liked though. For example, when he wanted to show his parents his Crownsguard uniform, which was really a big deal for him, they were not there. Prompto found his true family in his friends.

Unfortunately, yeah...more than once, too.  I’m sure everyone has, probably.  Right now I’m doing my best to not dwell on the bad stuff, to learn from it, and just...move on.  So I think I might just not go into ugly detail on this particular question? Suffice to say it was just Not Good, and I was (still am) reeling from it somewhat. 

Though one thing I will say: though it really is hard to get back out there and trust people and start interacting again - there’s more good than bad in the rp community, and in the world at large.  Just gotta hold onto that, I guess.

Does your character have recurring themes in their nightmares?

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS: HARD MODE | ACCEPTING

Yes, she does. When she was 14, Aranea had a boyfriend who was older than her. At first, it was perfect, but he quickly became agressive toward her, forcing her to do things she didn’t want, and beating her when she refused everything he wanted. She joined the army to run away from him, but she was - and she is still - afraid. This is the main reason why she fears love. She still has nightmares about him, even if she’s now a strong fighter who could kill him if he approaches her again. This is another reason why she will only give her heart to someone she could entirely trust read: Ignis. She hates to show herself vulnerable, and with these nightmares, she is more than ever.

Is your character more likely to admire wisdom, or ambition in others?

Ambition.  Zed’s more impressed with street smarts than book-learnin’.  While he does have a bit of respect for anyone who dedicates themselves to years of formal schooling, it’s also a completely foreign concept to him, a high school dropout.  Zed picked up things that were second nature to him, skills he thought would be useful, and honed them all himself without any formal education.  He was more of a hands-on learner, and taught himself more by doing on his own, than sitting in a classroom being lectured.
