Needless to say, life with this pushback had never been the same for Ignis since. Inevitably, there used to be a point where he considered this a burden; a weakness- but it was the sacrifice he was willing to make, for Lucis, but most especially, for the prince’s life. Such was the duty of a devoted member of the retinue.

But ever since he chose to stay with everyone, becoming less of liability became his priority. This was how he decided to depend on his sense of hearing, and his instincts from years of training and experience, to partake in combat.

It didn’t take long to develop a sense of spatial awareness, so he felt like he knew the distance between him and Aranea. It wasn’t perfect yet, but he was getting better.

Ignis wore a smile at Aranea’s considerate words, accompanied with the pat on his arm. Has she always been this kind? Not that he ever doubted her, but due to the nature of her occupation, she used to be the type to go wherever the wind took her. Regardless, he was glad to have her fighting by his side like old times.

“Thank you, Aranea. This is what I exactly need, since we’re going to keep fighting daemons like this for quite a while.” He pushed back his glasses on the bridge of his nose out of habit. “I’d want nothing more than to keep up with everyone. So feel free to tell me what I need to work on, if that is alright with you. In return, I can cook for a dish you have in mind. It’s also something I’ve been working on these days as well.”

Aranea knows Ignis has always taken care of his friends. She noticed, during the small she spent with Noctis and his friends, how he always made sure the others were safe. Even her. It was something she hadn’t expected, but from the moment they met, he seemed to consider her as an ally, to treat her as one. Aranea has never been entirely used to such KINDNESS, and she just knows she wants to offer Ignis some support right now.

It’s unfair, him being blind like this. She doesn’t know what happened in Altissia. She sometimes wishes she could have been sent there, too, to help Noctis and the others along with Ravus, but Ardyn already suspected her too much, unfortunately. She would have endangered everyone, as much as she hates to admit it.

She wishes Ignis could be more patient with himself, though. She knows how strong and capable he is. Even if he’s now blind, it won’t affect his strength, both physical and mental one. She has always admired him for that. 

“Yeah... I’m afraid these daemons are here for a while.” The world is surrounded by darkness now. And it seems like Noctis is the key to stopping this, but the young king is no where to be found. His friends seem to believe he will come back, though. No one knows when, unfortunately. She smiles at his words. “You know me. I won’t hide the truth from you. You’ll know what you need to work on.” She assures with another pat to his arm. “And I’ll happily take some seafood in exchange, if you don’t mind.” She’s teasing him, of course, because she knows she’ll like whatever he prepares. // @ervaurem​

You're not imagining it -- reblog notifications are broken.

Tumblr's most recent update made it so you will no longer receive notifications in your activity feed when you reblog or interact with your own posts. This is a fine idea, but it has a major issue. If you reblog a post that was originally yours from another person, neither you nor the person you reblogged from will be notified.

Let's say Person A makes a starter, and Person B reblogs it with a reply -- Person A will be notified of that reblog. Then Person A reblogs that from Person B to add their own reply -- Tumblr recognizes this as Person A interacting with their own post, so Person A won't be notified, but neither will Person B.

Considering that interaction I just described is the backbone of roleplaying on this site, this is a problem -- it means that any threads you're involved in that your partner wrote the starter for won't notify you correctly. It is incredibly easy to miss replies when this is happening.

I truly believe this was just an oversight and not done intentionally, but it should still be fixed. I have filled out a support form with staff informing them of the issue and I recommend that you do the same. Please remember to be polite! Simply explain what the issue is and why it's a problem. You can even link them to this post if you want.

In the meantime, the best method to avoid this is to @-mention your partner in replies, so that it will still show up in their activity feed no matter what. You can also use RPThreadTracker to keep an eye on your replies and make sure you don't miss anything.
