Hiiii! For the fic asks, 1, 11, 12, and 30! :3

1) I’ll give you two from The Ticket to Tomorrow. Last sentence for the most recent chapter posted: (Chapter 18) If Vash wasn’t mistaken, it sounded like the hero merely said, “I'm Superman.”

And last sentence from the draft of the chapter I’m up to now: (Chapter 28) “Anyway, what’d we miss?” Lois asked, specifically looking toward Luida and not Jimmy.

It follows Shinichi after the downfall of the Black Organization and his rebuilding relationships with family and friends, especially the Detective Boys. Will he tell the DBs his secret or will the kids uncover the mystery all on their own?

I posted 5 chapters, totally just under 50k words. I of course left it on a cliffhanger and I still get a couple reviews and followers every year, so I have some motivation to finish it.

It’s obviously an oversimplification but the “small but strong woman” trope.

I love both Meryl Stryfe and Lois Lane. While Meryl only has the 3 adaptations, Lois’s evolution since 1938 has paved the path for complex female characters.

Lois has always had a ton of flaws, but damn if she isn’t powerful in her own right in a universes full of superhero’s. In MAWS we see her struggle with insecurities but is oozing with ambition and an insatiable desire to uncover any and all injustices throughout the city. She is determined to become a star reporter and has already had growth in such a short timeframe. She’s only going up from here. Plus, we’ll be seeing her (and Clark and Jimmy AND maybe Kara) in exactly a week!!!

There’s no doubt in my mind that the newest versions of Meryl and Lois were inspired by each other. Nightow is a huge western comics fan and it’s no coincidence Meryl is now a newspaper reporter. But of course, Meryl is still her own person. In TriStamp, she is still very young and naive but she similar plows in stating her passion is in humanitarianism and isn’t afraid to head out into the frontier, chasing outlaws. She’s not dumb though, she is quick to learn and knows there’s a bigger picture to the story than just a puff piece. There is a contrast between TriMax and TriStamp Meryl, but we are still only seeing her potential. By the second half of the season, she stands her ground, refusing to back down and run away. Just the small clip after ep 12 title card, we get a sneak peak of the iconic Derringer Meryl. I can’t wait to see her again in S2.

30) TBH, I only have the two fics!! 😅😅😅 So I’ll have to plug The Ticket to Tomorrow. It’s my Trigun Stampede x My Adventures with Superman crossover. It’s a longfic/epic with Multi-POV. Think of it almost as an epic fantasy or sci-fic. There’s action, adventure, humor, angst, fluff and more.

The idea for a crossover was rolling around in my head for a few months before I finally typed out my outline. I’ve started getting back into fandom and writing groups to keep me motivated. Definitely recommend both series!

Life Within the Soul Sneak Peak

Below is a sneak peak of the intro to a book that is in the works for my Ao3, Life Within the Soul. Though it sounds like a straight-line fanfic I can assure you it is not, in it I will be posting an array of one-shots, scenarios, smuts and more all taking place in a special world. This is effectively my universal fix-it fic collection for every character I'm grieving for and show I miss; it will include reader inserts and Oc stuff and a wide array of characters and their new lives in this seemingly modern world where they finally have the options and support, they need to heal. I plan to keep most characters relatively in character, some will be slightly toned down depending on what I'm writing. This is only a small part of the intro; the whole intro was too long to post here and the parts that primarily describe the world at large are in the first 2 paragraphs. This is where we meet the goddess, my Author persona so to speak, who is in the process of preparing for her next "rescue mission". Check it out, it will feature an array of characters, so there may even be crossover action, don't be surprised to learn that Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen is gym buddies with Shiva from Record of Ragnarök lol. There are no real set-in stone stories, so one day Gojo might be the owner of a lingerie empire and married to a cat girl kemonomimi that was a background character from some long-forgotten phone game and the next day he is in a polyamorous relationship with Geto and a femboy stoner and Gojo is a house husband while Geto owns a popular club in the red-light district. So yeah, if you're interested in that kinda chaos check out my Ao3 and keep an eye out for the book drop. Each chapter will have warnings as needed, so remember to look at the notes and description so you can tell what's instore. There will be adult content overall, so if you're super worried about accidentally reading something you aren't into just skip it.

"I wonder who will arrive next…It hurts my heart to see the children of creativity pass… but I can't wait to see them." A woman with long pastel pink hair sat at a work bench, in her hands was a piece of silky snow-white clay. Laying on a metal sheet that sat nearby was a series of featureless white dolls, they were small but would soon grow and adjust to the size of the host that would soon bring them to life. In the kiln nearby another tray slowly baked, preparing a fresh batch of blessed soul shells. The tv on the wall that the work bench was pressed to was turned on, on it she watched the life of yet another person that was born in a created universe. She felt bad for them, they were living creatures though the ones that created them call them characters and treat them as if they are not real. Of course this wasn't the creators fault, after all in their world these people AREN'T real. They are people made from the imagination, given life on paper and screeen. How were they supposed to know about the alternative diminsions much less understand the true reality of the diminsion they live in. How were they supposed to know that each world that made, actually made a world? How were they supposed to know they were the gods of these people's world. That each life of suffering was inflicted on someone that truly lived within another diminsion, every choice sealing each person's fate without the so called "characters" even realizing they never had a choice to start with and it was all done for the entertainment of others and advancement of plot. That nothing was ever in their control. It was a fact that hurt the goddess, she was familiar with the soul birth process as she spent some time making the souls that would be born within the various created universes. It was one of the first things she learned when she ascended, each god of creation having to learn the step-by-step process that was the creation of life, realms and all that lies within. Of course she long since finished her training, and so she has been left to use her powers as she sees fit. It was the pain she felt while making these souls, knowing the truth of their existence, that drove her to create the techniques that allowed her to expand the depths of her soul and build a world within herself, a place that would remain untouched so long as she drew breath. And for her to provide bodies for all those she sought to save, so many souls cast into darkness because the media source that created their life and story had ended. Thus ending their story, the closest thing to rebirth being the creation of an entirely different version of them within a series of pocket universes formed by fans that live within the creator universe at that point. She was proud of some of them, their so called "fix it" fics doing a lot to soothe her sadness while she works on getting vessels prepared for the line of dead and work her way to the media source's "named characters" to whom she had grown especially attached. Though she'd never admit it out loud, there were some people she favored because she had bore witness to their lives and to the media that determined their fate from start to finish. "Don't worry little ones…Mama will rescue you from the darkness, I promise." Mint green eyes looked up the screen, fingers moving on muscle memory as she worked harder to finish the next few batches so that she can get started on the reincarnation process. "I can't wait to meet you all…"

The force felt hectic, but at the same time peaceful. Your master had spoken that the clone wars was coming to an end. Peace was finally arriving and you could feel the balance of the force appearing.

At the prime age of 10 years old, you were one of the youngest padawans to get a jedi master so young. The council had repeatedly spoken highly of your swift learning of the jedi teachings.

You sat on the battleship, meditating and waiting for your master to arrive back from a nearby planet. Your master gave you strict orders to sit and wait upon their return.

However, after a grumble from your stomach a small break couldn't hurt. You peeked one of your eyes open, scanning your surrounds. You found R5 patiently also waiting on your masters return.

"R5, how about we grab some food?"

 Beep-bee-boop

"We won't be gone long, R5"

You stood and made your way to the cafeteria as R5 rushed to follow. You were greeted at every corner by clones.

" [Y/N], sneaking off again are we?"

You spun around, red faced at being caught.

"Commander Keith! I was just about to get some food. Would you like to join me?" You smiled and kept your eyes averted from Keith's mischief expression.

Kieth chuckled at you and decided to let you slide.

"As much as I love our lunches together, kid. I just received a notice to meet in the command center."

Your face contoured to seriousness immediately.

"Don't look like such as adult, kid. We received an update from the general a few minutes ago. They are returning now to meet with you." He smirked as he watched the seriousness wash off your face.

"Alright, you better hurry before the general returns. I never saw you"

"Deal" You couldn't help but to smile as you practically skipped away from captain Keith towards the the cafeteria. You should probably sneak him extra treats for having your back. You sneaked a peak behind you just as Keith was entering the door to the command center.

"I wonder what the meeting is about? Probably next steps on ending the war", you assumed.

Walking into the cafeteria was uneventful with the same old food. You commonly ate whatever was at the temple and military rations. Sometimes your master would buy you food from local towns in nearby planets and all the clones would join in and have a nice meal. You smiled hoping you can do that again soon with everyone. You grabbed a handful of ration bars and stuck them into your robes.

 Beep-boop!

"Oh shush, R5. I'm bringing extra for my master" You smirked at the nosy robot and began walking out of the cafeteria. You began venturing to the landing bay, hoping to see your master arrive. Right when you opened the doors to the landing bay, you feet wavered. You clutched the nearby wall as your force bond opened.

"Padawan! Where are you?" Your master spoke through your bond.

"Master, I am waiting for you in the bay area."

"Reach the star ship. The clones have betrayed us. Do not hesitate to defend yourself, Padawan. Have R5 take you to UNKNOWN-5. I will meet you there"

"Yes, Master" and with that the bond closed and you turned to R5. "We must move quickly R5! To unknown-5!"

R5 spoke loudly in his droid language before speeding off across the landing bay towards the jedi starfighter. You ran behind him. You could hear shouts and doors opening behind you.

"Theres the jedi!" A clone shouted as a squadron of them began shooting towards you. You pulled out your lightsaber and began deflecting the blasts. You breathing became elevated and remembered your masters words. Do not hesitate to defend yourself. You began deflecting the blasts towards the clones, taking them out one by one.

You ran towards the ship, jumping onto the ship, turning off your lightsaber as you did so. You were able to get into the pilot seat when you heard your name.

"[Y/N]!"

That was Keith's voice. You turned your head and saw him with a blaster in his hands, but his arms were shaking. You stared at him for what felt like an eternity.

"KEITH! Please, stop this!" Why would he betray you? Betray the jedi? What changed?

"DIE, JEDI" Keith roared as he shot his blaster at you.

F*cking Lawyers: Elorcan One-Shot Sneak Peak

Listen: you ask, I deliver. 😎

 This is a first look at the Elorcan extension of my ACOTAR x TOG modern crossover AU-verse. Currently, there are two stories in the series:  In Vino Veritas, featuring Nesta and Cassian, and Navy Suits and Chelsea Boots, featuring Elain and Azriel.

Forthcoming are The Eyes of Texas, a one-shot about how Rowan and Aelin met, and the below, tentatively titled F*cking Lawyers, which is an Elorcan one-shot that takes place at Rowan and Aelin’s engagement party.

TO BE CLEAR, F*cking Lawyers is at the end of my writing queue at the moment, so this story is forthcoming, but will not be published until Like a Lonely House, my canon Nessian angstfest, is updated (hopefully this week), the next chapter of In Vino Veritas is published (coming very soon), and The Eyes of Texas is completed. I just got really inspired today and decided to bang this snippet out, but I also want to keep my priorities in order.

One last note! For this story, I have decided to spell Maeve the traditional way, which is Méabh, because....I can. Anyways, please be aware when you see that name, that is who I am talking about. Otherwise, enjoy, I cannot wait to hear what you think!

F*cking Lawyers Snippet

Lorcan—conscious of not incurring Aelin’s wrath by making a scene—retreated to the swanky bar in the corner of the lounge, quietly snarling, “Please remind my ex-wife that I started this company before—”

“Wife,” the lawyer interrupted primly.

“Excuse me?” Lorcan snarled.

“You and Ms. Lehane are still very much married, Mr. Salvaterre, and you will remain as such until litigation over your assets is resolved. That includes the cyber-security firm, which—as your wife—Ms. Lehane is entitled to fifty percent of.”

“You smarmy prick.”

“I may be a prick, Mr. Salvaterre, but I’m a prick who is more than happy to rake you over the coals in court should this mediation between you and my client fail. I will send over the documents detailing our latest counter. I suggest you discuss with your attorney and give the offer some serious thought; it’s the best you’ll get from us, that I can—”

Lorcan hung up before tossing his phone onto the bar.

“Fucking lawyers,” he snarled to himself, tugging his tie loose as he gestured for the bartender.

It was only after that he realized he wasn’t alone. The woman next to him was curvy but petite—just Lorcan’s type—and pretty enough to momentarily distract him from Méabh and her conniving bullshit. However, the feeling quickly faded when he noted the rather pointed look the stranger was giving him.

He swore again, low and to himself, as he rubbed his eyes.

“You’re a lawyer, aren’t you?”

She smiled, and he felt a least a modicum of relief that he hadn’t offended one of Aelin’s friends; he didn’t think he could bare the resulting lecture.

“I am,” she admitted. “But not the prick kind, at least I hope.”

Lorcan studied the woman with more scrutiny, admiring the way her hair had been pulled away her face to bare her creamy complexion and stunning dark eyes. Jesus, she was lovely. He wondered if she was si—

An unpleasant realization dawned on him, and he felt his heart sinking in unexpected disappointment.

“You’re not Cash’s new girlfriend, are you?”

The woman laughed, the sound delicate but smoky. It went straight to his cock.

“No, I’m not. Though if you’re looking for someone to represent you in a—”she paused, clearly looking for a polite way to say ‘mess-ass divorce’. “—civil litigation, you should speak to her. Nesta has an unparalleled talent for getting what she wants, especially in court.”

“How delightful,” Lorcan said, unsure if he was delighted or unnerved to find they were flirting.

“She’s actually rather lovely,” the woman said with another smile, adding, “for a private attorney. I’m Elide, by the way.”

She proffered a small, well-manicured hand.

“Lorcan,” he said, his hand swallowing hers as they shook.

“And are you a friend of the bride, or the groom?”

“Do I look like a man who would willingly be friends with Aelin Galathynius?”

It was out before he could stop it, but Elide only laughed.

“You’re one of Rowan’s high school friends, aren’t you? I’ve heard your name mentioned before.”

“Not by Aelin, I hope.”

“She was complimentary,” Elide said before grinning. “For the most part.”

Lorcan fought off a groan. If Aelin had blown his shot with Elide with her fat mouth, he would—

“Though I will say she undersold you a good deal. She said you were tall, but I didn’t—how tall are you?”

Lorcan could fight off the satisfied smirk as she gave him a delightedly brazen up-down.

“6’9,” he said. “Why, how tall are you?”

She laughed.

“Tall enough to ride all the rides at Disneyland, if only barely.”

He was tempted to tell her she was certainly tall enough to ride him if she wanted.

The Bunker Party - Debrief

Hey peeps! 

Our latest bunker party was just amazing. My cheeks and my stomach still hurt from laughing...Supernatural seriously does have THEE best fandom and I’m so glad to be a part of it. 

6 and a half hours we were hanging out for…SIX AND A HALF! But to see so many beautiful faces, hear so many lovely voices and to spend time with new people was just a dream!  The support from you guys for each other, the love in this fandom; I can’t express how much I adore it.

Me and @katehuntington​ love holding these events and we are already planning the next live stream (date to be announced) but it will be in August.

The Goddess Returns series info and more

Today I bring you some info regarding the upcoming series I've been working on. It's a crossover between the final title of the FF13 trilogy and Wizardess Heart. Now I will go ahead and say that you don't have to play the FF game to understand the story, I've revamped it and added some of my own personal touches to make the story more WH centric. I'll be providing a short summary of series along with a sneak peak of one of the first chapters of the series later today.

Both WH and the final game of the FF 13 trilogy was left on a pretty bittersweet ending and quite honestly there was a lot more that vould have happened but didn't for both. It felt unfinished. So I've decided to combine the story arc from the FF game and make it into what the series will become. I really hope you all will enjoy it as it's already been emotional ride for me, even though I've not yet finished writing it all completely yet.

On one final brief note, I would like to point out that the series itself won't likely start being posted until one of the beginning months of next year. It also won't have a set poting time, so there could be multiple posts in one day. In the meantime, while I'm continuing to work on the series I have some small fics that are almost finished and will be posted soon at some point to help fill in the gap between now and when the series begins to get posted.

Update!

So I should be getting out the last chapter of Blood and Water later tonight, and booooy is it a doozy! I think it's working it's way up to being close to like, maybe 5kish? Also it's got a for real NSFW scene in it....I still gotta go back and re-read/edit that nonsense to make sure it's not total garbage, but still don't expect a lot from that. (I cannot believe in the good year of our lord 2020 I am out here writing smut...what is even HAPPENING anymore)

I also have a partially-written Bill x Reader fic started that may get out late tonight if I'm particularly motivated, if not that'll be tomorrow for sure. 👍

I'm working on getting though my requests, I know some have been sitting in there for awhile and for that I apologize; my series has kind of taken up all my writing time, but now that it's (basically) done I'll be focusing more on requests.

Minecraft x MCU Steve/Tony

Yes, you did read that right. Long story short, for those that are unfamiliar with Minecraft... well, first off, you should fix that, but second off... the male player-character’s ‘name’ is Steve. And then I was talking to a friend about the peak Crack Treated Seriously crossover possible, and well... this happened.

The premise is, essentially, that Steve is--of course--Steve, the player. He plays on a small Realm (server) with his friends, and being Too Precious For Words, sets out to make a Mushroom Island Villager Utopia centered around his primary base. Cue standard villager mechanics and practices for this project, with Tony as the ultra-valuable and Rare ‘Mending’ Villager.

And then one day, a series of malicious command block shenanigans sends Steve straight into the game...

Or: A LitRPG with Minecraft and Stony and probably a bunch of terrible puns that I’ll likely never write but had way too much fun thinking about.

It’s been a little more than a year since Tony was taken by the Other.

In that time, an entire village has sprung up on the once-desolate island. Not that Tony’s been allowed to see it, of course, but all of the native villagers live in it. Natives, of course, all born of the two other villagers originally taken alongside Tony that are long-since deceased thanks to a Drowned infestation a few weeks after they were taken. Part of Tony still wishes he’d been infected as well, because at least then there’d be more than… well, this.

At least he’s fed regularly these days. Far better than early on, where he almost starved because the Other didn’t give him food or allow him any visitors. It was only when he’d grown so ill that he was unable to make anything for the Other for several days that the Other relented and gave him a few dozen loaves of bread that lasted until the Other started allowing him visitors.

Speaking of--

“Hey Pete,” Tony greeted the young cartographer that’d taken to visiting him nearly every day since discovering Tony’s existence.

“Hey Mr. Stark!” the kid enthused, “Guess what I brought you today?”

“I imagine you’re going to show me sooner or later.”

“Well, yeah. But Look! Harley’s mom--she’s a Farmer, remember? Well she’s been training with the Captain and he taught her how to make pumpkin pie and I asked her to make one for you and well, here!”

He pulled out the aforementioned dessert and slid it across the empty space between the two wars of bars separating Tony’s cell from the outside world.

“Huh. Tell her thanks, kid. I haven’t had pie since… well, it’s been a very long time.” Tony said. He had vague memories of Ana, his home village’s Farmer, sneaking him the treat a few times when he was just a child and Howard was too busy at the Blacksmithy to notice her spoiling his son, but he’d long since forgotten the taste or even smell of the sweet.

He rarely thought about his childhood home these days; before even rumors of the Others from a Nomad had reached their village.

Before he’d taken a profession and developed the magic that, in retrospect, had sealed his fate: the Mending enchantment. It was a secret he’d long refused to pass onto any other Librarians that had sprung up in the generations since he’d been taken, for fear that it would land them confined to a cell just as Tony himself was.

The other villagers were allowed to roam free, but not Tony. Never Tony. He wasn’t sure if it was all the escape attempts he’d made, the perceived value of his magic, some combination of the two, or some inscrutable other reason, but Tony was the only villager the Other kept permanently imprisoned.

To the rest of the Village, the ones that called the Other “Captain” and worshipped him as the deity guarding over His Chosen--their village--it was just part of the way things were.

It didn’t help that Tony’s appearance matched that of his homeland, rather than the adopted garb and appearance of the descendants of Pepper and Rhodey, this many generations out from their move.

Long ago, before the gene had entirely died out, it’d prompted curious visits from children that looked like him rather than the “normal” villager appearance. These days, most villagers found it more off-putting than anything, and the fact that he was imprisoned in the inner sanctum of their Lord’s “Keep” didn’t help matters any.

Peter was the biggest exception, although he occasionally sent Harley or, on one notable occasion, Ned, in his stead if he got wrapped up in his cartographic magic.

The longest absence had been when the Other persuaded him to scry for a sunken Ocean Monument not long after his manifestation as the village’s first cartographer. Even that hadn’t lasted more than a week, the time it’d taken for Peter to figure out the complex formulae spanning the gap between Clericism, Librarians, and more run-of-the-mill item enchantment.

Peter had apologized profusely when Tony hadn’t quite succeeded in hiding how much he’d missed the brat’s company.

Whatever conversation that might have developed from there was prevented by--speak of the Devil--the arrival of the Other.

Peter, despite being a bit more down-to-Earth than the rest of the village regarding the Captain-worship, still had the tendency to get a bit overwhelmed by the Other’s attention and quickly scurried away with a, “I’ll be back later, Mr. Stark! Enjoy the pie!”

Tony half-scowled half-smiled at the kid’s back, the same old paranoia that led him to hoard food out of the Other’s reach rearing up in defense even though he knew the Other had never shown any sign of understanding their language.

The Other, dressed in enchanted armor and wings, according to Peter, allowed him to fly, entered his cell a few minutes later.

Tony expected this would be a standard exchange. The Other would give him the requisite power Emeralds, and Tony would in turn provide him with the corresponding quantity of single-use Mending-enchanted books. Tony would work until he either ran out of emeralds or, if the Other was particularly demanding, passed out from overuse of Librarian magic. In the latter case, the Other would either wait until he recovered enough to continue work--scanning his reservoirs periodically to check, or however exactly it was he could tell--or leave for a short time and then come back.

Once, the Other had made Tony craft more than two dozen of the enchantment before finally leaving him be, but generally his demands were both small and infrequent.

Today, as it turned out, was not a normal day.

Today was the day that Tony’s life turned upside-down once again.

Okay so I’ve read the World Turned Upside Down book, seen the posters and teases released and finished the comic, so now comes all the theories lol. (Spoilers)

I know I’m late posting theories but its been hard getting time to write them down. So here goes.

 WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE COMIC & THE TEASE FROM THE COMPANION BOOK FOLLOW

  1.       The Rats. We all know by this point one of the episodes is titled Mall Rats, and its unlikely the title is talking about kids hanging out at the mall. The poster pretty much confirms this as running towards whatever horror has escaped the upside down are many rats. When Hopper found that large chamber in the tunnels there were multiple piles of bones and furred flesh from the wildlife that had either stumbled into or been dragged into the tunnels to feed the vines and Demodogs. So its possible that some rats may have entered the tunnel, made contact with the upside down atmosphere that could carry the Mindflayers essence/virus/whatever and become infected/possessed like Will was. The only thing that debunks this is that everything connected to the mind flayer supposedly died when the gate closed, which would mean any rats infected should have died as well. Another possibility is that some rats may have made it through the tunnel all the way to the gate and entered into the upside down where they have been corrupted and mutated by the Mindflayer ready for when the gate is reopened. Which comes to my next theory (we’ll come back to the rats later):

2.       How the creature(s) crossover. One thing that has never been established is how the original Demogorgon from season 1 opened those mini gates (they don’t have a name so im going with it) whenever it snatched prey and took them to the upside down. I say minigates because unlike THE gate these ones were small and closed themselves after an amount of time. The Demogorgon opened at least 3 in the byers home itself. It also used ones we didn’t see it open like the one it used to catch Barb & the one in the woods with the deer. Janes the one who originally opened the first gate after making contact with it but afterwards it seemed to be able to open any gate it wanted whenever it caught the scent of blood. But then in the comics we see Will finding the mini gate he talks to Joyce through in season 1, though its not fully formed and more like a window. Now it wasn’t till season 2 we learned that the Demogorgon & everything “alive” in the upside down is just a vessel for the mindflayer to control, so did it inherit the ability to open gates or did it lose that ability when that particular Demogorgon was destroyed? In season 2 it already had a stable gate that didn’t close after a while so it may not have seen the need to use it & focused on expanding into Hawkins through its tunnels. On the other hand if it doesn’t have that ability maybe the creature(s) will cross through a random minigate that opens if they do indeed still open. Again what debunks the minigate theory is that everything from the upside down appeared to die when the gate was closed, so if there are minigates to the upside down there should have been a “signal” that would have kept them alive. That being said we never saw what became of that piece of the mindflayer that was exorcised from Will in the cabin. Maybe because it’s a piece of the mind flayer itself it is able to survive the gate closing and took possession of those rats to survive, slowly growing its shadowy essence/virus through them and its goal of the season is to get Jane to reopen the gate.

3.       The Poster’s Monster. We can only see what might be part of two arms or legs and its knee’s/elbows. But if you can find a good enough picture you can see all the disgusting detail of what I think it might be made of & what its name might be. Remember the rats running towards it? I think their running to become part of it. Those little thin protrusions running up and down the limbs look very much like tiny ribcages don’t they? Also I cant find a clear enough picture online but someone had a close up pointing to one of the rats on their Instagram story & I swear I can see a rat face near one of its knees/elbows. In the World Turned Upside Down book the sneak peak mentioned that this season would have some disgusting body horror moments reminiscent of The Fly which I took to mean that it would be a human going through a disgusting transformation, but know I wonder if whatever escapes the upside down or has been in hiding since season 2 is slowly building itself a new body out of the rats it has infected. Then as it gets bigger it starts looking for other bodies to assimilate/mutate.  This also fits into a real life disgusting phenomenon that is also the name of a Dungeons & Dragons monster: THE RAT KING. In real life a rat king is created when a large swarm of rats is so big that multiple rats end up getting their tails knotted together through having to crawl over & around each other in tight spaces. Google it but be warned its pretty gross since they do not survive as they cannot move and get to food/water whilst stuck & in some cases their feces have glued some of them together. The D&D equivalent doesn’t have a picture but is basically a wererat. Doesn’t match what I’ve just described but since when has any of the creatures from the upside down looked like the D&D monster their named after? Another thing that makes me think it’s a cluster of bodies is from one of the pages of the last issue of the comic series. Its hard to tell if what Will is seeing once he’s connected to the mindflayer via that vine in his mouth (that’s also impregnating him with baby Dart) is real since earlier he was hallucinating that he actually was Will the wise but I cant help but notice how similar the horror he is seeing has a similar look to our mystery monsters limbs. I feel like this whole section is a tease of whats to come & just how many worlds the mindflayer has taken (WTF is that massive jaw bone from?!!)  

I have more theories on other stuff but this has taken long enough to write so think I’ll stop there for now. I don’t know which I want more when season 3 hits: for my theories to be true or for them to be something else entirely. I just hope whatever answers are revealed they make sense within the world the Duffers have created.

Carilissa watched in awe as her mother's spirit weave slowly dissolved, her small infant hands clenching and curling like the paws of a cat much to her mother's delight. The regal queen picked up her youngest child, smiling into the child’s whirling opalescent eyes. Ellyseta beamed as she watched the young eyes of a tairen look up at her from under a thick mop of hair whose colours mingled so tightly that the ebony and cinnamon formed a rich shade of fiery earth.

So young, Carilissa already showed immense promise and power in all six branches of magic - with Spirit and Azrahn being the strongest just like her mother. Ellyseta set her daughter down in her bed, a large piece of furniture carved completely by hand as a gift from her papa before he passed away. She wiped a tear from her eye as she regarded the masterpiece, protected by a subtle 5-fold weave, the visage of two adult tairen -one of ebony with amethyst eyes and one of cinnamon with gleaming emerald eyes- curled around a small nest would forever remain how it was the day Sol Baristani presented it to her oldest son, Barryl vel Daris. She tucked the small child into the blankets, so she'd remain warm during her nap, kissing Carilissa on the forehead in tender love. She smiled softly to herself, a look of motherly pride on her face as she stepped out of the room.

Her oldest Barryl was waiting for her when she came into the hallway. Ellie smiled at her son, his eyes were bright golden just like his taikomela (Grandmother), Elfeya. They were stunning when paired with the dark ebony of his gepa(father). Though his eyes weren't settled, instead whirling with tairen power. He was still young, borne a year after the second mage wages and a scant two months after Marissya's own tairen soul son, and still struggled with controlling his tairen. She could feel the rage that boiled under the surface as he looked into Carilissa's room with a gaze that radiated deadly protection. Ellie put her hand on her son's shoulder, snapping him out of the tairen rage that gripped him. He looked up at his mother, the few loose thoughts of a vengeance like the gods wrath on whoever hurt his sister, flowed into Ellie's mind before he tightened his barriers and returned her smile.

"Kem'nos.(My Son) Don't worry your sister is safe and will always be safe within the pride."

"I know mela(mother). But what if another war happens...all of us will need to fight...including her. What if I can't protect her..." He looked back towards Carilissa as she slept, his emotions still turbulent. The young child's senses were already so strong that she growled in her sleep and turned towards her older brother. Thin threads of power seeped out like a baby's grasping fingers. Barryl chucked softly, fey vision kicking in to see the multicolour threads. He accepted the slight boost of power before spinning a weave of his own. Like his mother, he was a master of Azrahn - both the dark and the light - and it showed in his weaves. Being the first male in the history of the Fey to be able to weave a glowing golden magic known as shei'dalin's love, the lighter side of Azrahn.

Ellyseta smiled softly, the natural soothing presence of her magic calming the sparks of power that danced around him like fireflies.

Music docs, the new way to engage fans

VH1’s Behind the Music documentaries have been on air for just over 20 years – and I challenge anyone who’s watched the Celine Dion episode not to love her forever. However, the Rock Doc and concert documentaries are certainly having a moment. On Netflix you’ll find such varied titles as Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium show, Bruce Springsteen’s On Broadway, Pentatonic’s On My Way Home, and the re-released Katy Perry Part of Me, which is finding a new platform five years after its original cinema release.

The concert documentary is a relatively new format and the beauty of it is, it’s not just video footage of a tour – it goes further and creates a narrative, half way between documentary and a live music video. It builds on the ebbs and flows of a live show to enhance the story, intercutting it with voice-overs and music-video style clips, interviews, and sneak-peaks behind the scenes.

Releasing on Netflix not only connects artists more deeply with existing fans, it can go a long way to building a new audience, turning a lukewarm reception into something more enthusiastic. Take Taylor Swift’s Reputation Stadium show. I’m a proud owner of her albums from Fearless through to 1989. However, when Reputation came out, I tried the album on Spotify, but gave up half way through the first track. Just not for me. Despite my reservations about her new material, when the concert documentary came out, I was pretty excited to watch it knowing I could fast-forward through the songs I didn’t like to the back catalogue numbers. Instead though, I saw a narrative unfold which explained the album in a way I’d not seen before. It presents a woman who’d been hurt by people she trusted, had her reputation crushed, but ultimately just wants to live and love and sing, and was building herself back to a place of recognising what really matters in her life. Having the themes laid out pulled me into appreciating the songs.

Lady Gaga’s Five Foot Two was another recent big Netflix release. The movie documents her progress from writing her new album Jolene to promoting it, and ultimately builds to her 2017 Superbowl half-time performance. It reveals the nerves and dedication that precede a show like that and at the climactic moment, the performance takes on a new level of meaning as audiences gain a deeper level of understanding about the personal, emotional, and practical hurdles that had been jumped to get there.

The Foo Fighters Sonic Highways is another interesting take on a behind the scenes documentary about making an album. The series was originally recorded for HBO, aired on the UK on the BBC in 2014, and was added to Netflix in 2017 (though unfortunately removed in 2018), and truly interlinks with a listener’s understanding of the album. We follow the Foos as they travel across the US and through the writing process, where each song is linked to a city. Every track has a dedicated episode which shows the band touring the town, looking into its musical history, and writing about their experiences, with the song performed at the end, tying up the episode in a neat rock bow. The series is not just an a additional piece of content to accompany the album’s release, but effectively makes the album the soundtrack to the documentary too.

As a Dolly Parton fan, I would be remiss not to also mention Dumplin’. The movie (starring Danielle Macdonald and Jennifer Anniston) is a coming of age comedy, which follows an atypical beauty queen as she enters a local pageant with a small group of equally misfit friends. The protagonist is a big Dolly fan, and Dolly’s songs interweave their way through the story, comprising the entire soundtrack. The songs not only offer themselves up to be heard by a new audience but are presented through the eyes of the characters and the narrative of the movie. It gives the viewer a deeper understanding of Dolly’s music and her character by showing what Dolly and her music means to her fans, how she inspires and comforts them. Arguably this draws in more viewers than would watch a straight-up documentary about Dolly, her legacy, or her fans.

By streaming on Netflix, these documentaries and movies are accessible to more than just an artist’s core fan base. The format constitutes a low-risk for newcomers – the content has already been purchased through subscription and they can watch with zero effort or direct investment compared to buying a cinema or concert ticket or DVD. For artists it also opens up access to more revenue by extending the longevity of an album’s release and hopefully creating new fans who’ll purchase future releases. Plus there’s the bonus that the narrative is told in line with the artist’s vision.

VH1’s Behind the Music episodes were put together from previously released press and interview footage, and followed a formula of ‘artist rises to fame, does a lot of drugs, gets hounded by the press, and then it all goes wrong’. Celine Dion’s episode stands out because despite many dramatic voice-overs, they really struggled to make her fit the mould: her script reads more like ‘artist rises to fame, is nice to everyone, looks after her husband while he is sick from cancer, then continues to be lovely and pleasant to everyone’.

In comparison, the new style of documentary offers artists the ability to produce content that fits within their own overarching creative framework, and that makes them as important for fan engagement as a crossover collab or new line of merch.
