Happy New Year!

Sirius throws his arms around James, and the two of them share a hearty hug. Remus looks away, wanting to let them enjoy their moment. He sees Lily, who approaches him with two bottles of beer in hand. She hands one to Remus and they clink their bottles together. 

“I’m so proud of them,” she says, face warm and glowing with fondness. 

Remus smiles down at her. He feels overcome with how good everything feels right now. How right. 

Sirius and James disengage, and James’s whole face lights up when he sees Lily. 

“There’s my Lilybell!” 

He swoops in and lifts her off the ground. She shrieks as she’s spun around, sloshing some of her beer. 

Sirius laughs and saunters back up to Remus. 

“There’s my Moony.”

Remus and the PawP@th team ring in the new year.
