Hi I’m from Slovenia!

A small country in shape of a chicken. I apologise if it’s too late for interesting facts of our country but I wanted to share some, because we are not really well known except for some sports.

We have a legend about white snake with crown who is a queen of all snakes and she brings good luck. Her crown is known that it multiplies things, so if you put it in bag of cookies now you have never ending amount of cookies as long the crown is in the bag.

Another one is about slipper stealing cat. It’s not actually a legend, it’s written by Ela Peroci but it’s widely used for disciplining children, every kid knows about her. If you don’t take care of your slippers and keep them in order a cat will come and take them away.

For just one small tidbit our former president spoiled the ending of last James Bond film on instagram and it was a whole thing, he received so much backlash for this.

I hope that were some interesting facts about my country, because I learned a lot from previous asks.

Slovenia was the first nation to send a drag act to Eurovision. In 2002 the trio drag act Sestre performed their song "Samo Ljubezen" in Tallinn. They finished 13th overall.

Eurovision Fact #487:

Raiven, with her song "Veronika," will be representing Solvenia at Eurovision in 2024. The song is part of a larger project of Raiven's to "explore the stories of iconic women from various historical eras."

Raiven's musical style is a combination of pop and opera, and began to more specifically write electro-pop opera after getting her master's degree from the Ljubljana Academy of Music.
