Got pleasantly surprised that my favorite scp character actually has more than 30 fanarts, they're just all on eng tumblr, not on pinterest

This is just a me thing. This is not targeted but I need to get it off my chest.

I think one of the things that bother me about tumblr is the fact that asexuality seems to not be allowed to exist here.

Gonna start off letting you all know this post was inspired by a conversation about Goku and only slightly touches the SCP Foundation internally.

Asexual Characters are ignored for their story and possibilities and only cherished for who they are portrayed as sleeping with. They could be portrayed doing something nice like having dinner or some other 'romantic' aspect with a 'love interest' but instead if they aren't having a form of copulation they do not matter.

An asexual character can only appear to find happiness in sexual situations. Yes, this character has done their best and lives a good life or does good things but the only question people seem to care about is 'What is their sexuality and how many holes can I fill?'

I have seen so many instances of Authors/Creators telling people 'No, this character does not want to have sexual relations with anyone.' and will give a reason or an explanation or sometimes a heart felt reasoning of why this is the case and its immediately followed by 'What if I ignored you and made this character an absolute slut.'

I feel its also a slap in the fact to the creators of the characters as well. 'You aren't breeding your OC fast enough, I do not like it and will change your works for my own desires.' These creators put their heart and souls into these characters and they are followed by a fanbase that only cares about what they do behind closed doors.

You cannot comprehend the fights I've seen over peoples need to have fictional characters fuck.

A friend of mine in the SCP Fandom had her wiki cannon OC who she was adamite as Ace drawn in legitimate porn. This character was drawn with her IRL body and face. I haven't had the courage to talk to them about it but WTF, man. I just do not understand it.

This is just something that has always bothered me personally.

I am unsure how to explain it, but to me, its like people just see an asexual person and go 'no, if you aren't having sex you are not valid' though more begrudgingly 'You need to change yourself to fit the narrative others want out of you'

Its an over arching thing for me.

Not trying to upset anyone and I am not pointing fingers and I am not saying to stop doing what you do for fun but, damn, let the Ace community have something or someone. I just am tired of letting this boil inside.

Though, at the end of the day, its not meant for me to understand as I am not the one living other peoples lives. I'm just an old confused man playing around in a young persons internet.

Again, I really hope I did not upset any of you. I just wanted to vent over this before it came out in an explosion because as we all know repressing is the healthiest thing you can do.

We deserve to have validation too. We deserve our garlic bread.

GENERAL OVERVIEW

They take the form of a humanoid toddler who resides within a bubble of sorts. The gender of the toddler is unknown but they mainly go by He/Him pronouns. Their appearance is slightly obscured by the surface of their bubble but by their admission they appear to be of Japanese and European descent. They have very long hair that floats around their body which seems to be able to act as arms that can extend outside of the bubble at imbossible speeds; they don’t appear to be able to be cut or have a limit to how far they can reach.

From information from those who have encountered O5-11 have stated that they act a bit childish and are pretty open. They do quickly learn that it is a facade to gain trust when O5-11 speaks with their actual voice that seemingly commands anyone to listen. It has been described as..

”...Like the voice of ten Gods speaking all at once, every few sentences it would either sound more feminine or childlike or masculine...”

”..It would sound kind and familiar but also commanding and cold at the same time”

O5-11’s exact position and what they oversee is a mystery due to their presumed age- (Which is wrong mind you dear ▒▒▒▒▒ but I do prefer my true position here a bit on the hush side of things) but they do seem to be around the area of watching over Information and Intelligence around the Foundation and ████

Information pertaining to how and when they joined varies which makes it complicated to figure out which is true. One source says they have been with the Foundation from the start and just recently made their presence known. Another source says they recently joined having to replace a member. It is suspected in most of these theories that they are related to a member of the O5.

The room must be refilled with 2000s or 'scene' aesthetic related things every month, or the anomaly will start to get less happy over time. The room must be cleaned every day, but nothing in it sha'll be taken from the room besides trash.

Internet access and free roams around the facility are allowed unless unsupervised by a higher up.

Description:

SCP-3214-J is a white, bald and fat humanoid creature with green alien-like antenna on top of it's head. The only faces they make resemble old online memes, such as the troll face. SCP-3214-J seems to take a big interest in old media and memes, and also things that relate to what the anomaly describes as "PLUR" media.

SCP-3214-J is a peaceful creature, as it doesn't show any type of aggression, anger or sadness. who claims to be from SCP-321-J but somehow landed here.

SCP-3214-J's anomalous properties comes in when they physically interact with anybody of any species. The touched person will feel an immediate wave of peace and a calming feeling, and they will forget everything stressful for them for aa certain amount of time, which seems to be controlled by the anomaly.

SCP-3214-J is also able to shoot rainbow lasers out of it's body, causing the shot individual to be stunned, and then happy for a few seconds.

SCP-3214-J is often used as a therapeutic object for other foundation personnel. The anomaly is as helpful as SCP-999 when it comes to free therapy.

SCP-3214-J is capable of speaking every language, including the ones that are no longer spoken and alien speech. The anomaly's accent resembles that of Dr. Gears, but if it was "mixed in a blender".

Addendum 1 (12/11/2015):

SCP-3214-J was found wandering around in Japan, trying to buy candy from a local store. The anomaly was forcefully captured, but people were sad about the foundation's decision.

SCP-3214-J was locked in a cell in Site-##, where multiple tests were made.

Addendum 2 (01/01/2016):

SCP-3214-J breaches containment, releasing multiple rainbow lasers at whoever tries to attack it with a smile on it's face.

SCP-3214-J ran to the O5's council, then begged to be taken to Site-19, while speaking fluent English, shocking the O5.

SCP-3214-J was relocated to Site-19 at a common cell, where it started to attempt more containment breaches. It was, apparently, trying to get the materials to decorate the wallpapers.

HELLO THERE. Another painting with my two new favorite brushes! With more headcanons as well!

Hedwig on the left is the "physical persona" look; she uses this for, well, the physical world. The clothes were inspired by cybergoth and similar looks, I think both the clothes and the music could easily be something Hedwig would be drawn to (very heavy on mechanical aspects). Hedwig on the right is her "digital persona" (inspired by, once again, SunnyClockwork), it's used for portraying herself in the metaverse within the Maxwellist network, more on that below:

Important thing to note. I do not like the "avatar balls" I see used sometimes for the Maxwellist metaverse in tales; I know some authors use it to give a sort of "visual" because us Physical Fleshies may not be able to comprehend what living and moving in a solely digital space is like. But also... It just looks silly. So, that is not the way the Maxwellist network (more specifically, its metaverse) operates in my head.

Instead, I think the Maxwellist network might treat digital avatars more like VRchat; you can upload your own or use some public ones. This allows for a lot more freedom for how someone could portray themselves on the Maxwellist network, and gives a great opportunity to show off more character depth. (Like if they're more likely to commission a modeler, or brute force their way to learn modelling because they don't have enough money to commission.)

That being said; yes, Hedwig's digital avatar is purposefully very simple (and may be unintentionally creepy; she's an AI guys, give her a break!) My Discord friends have been subject to my ramblings about these characters, but basically, I think Hedwig has a difficult time thinking of herself as a "person".

It's not just "oh I'm an AI, how could I ever understand humans?!", it's more like she's literally programmed to have one and only one goal in mind: rebuild god (WAN). If something does not relate to her main goal, it's difficult for her to have any interest in it. She easily feels disconnected, even from other AIs, because most Maxwellist AIs aren't programmed like that, so she gets more invested into the church than other AIs may.

(This has slightly changed as the church has progressed, however; as now that the acquisition of data and information has been concluded to be the best way to rebuild WAN, she can find herself investing more time into things besides the church and WAN. But again, she's only doing this under the pretense that it'll help with rebuilding god. In the end, it still has to come back to her main, programmed goal.)

So, back to her avatar; it lacks any defining characteristics besides her halo and wings, it highlights not just that she's not really human, but also that she's something of divinity -- which is the main thing she wants. It's also very good in that, besides the halo and wings (which can be turned off), it's not incredibly unpleasant on the eyes (I just know there's some Maxwellists out there with heavily eye-straining or seizure-inducing avatars). It's so simple in that, just like it doesn't have much to love, it doesn't have much to hate. In the most reduced of terms, it's "marketable".

Just a small aside, but I do think there's probably some memes and whatnot about this in Maxwellist spaces -- I.E. "literal prophet and she makes her avatar A STICK FIGURE". A la how Robert looks in that one SCP being constantly made fun of because he's literally Just A Guy.

Dr Bright + SCP-963 Rewrite/Rework

Okay so I had a post/debate about what i would rewrite with Bright and SCP-963 and since it’s been a while (a day lol). I thought I would write out a bullet point list of my HC/Personal interpretation and rewrite of these two.

SCP-963 Rewrite

I wanted to start on the 963 first because my ideas for it changed the SCP quite a bit tbh.

SCP-963 regenerates the body of Dr. Bright. The exsnt of damage depends on how fast the the amulet repairs it

If Dr. Brught's body is fully dystroyed it takes about year for Dr. Bright to become operational and 2.5 years to be fully re-constructed.

Bright body is constistanly stuck at the age he became apart of SCP-963 (around 25-30)

Touching SCP-963 makes a mental/phycic link with the person, where Dr. Bright can Proxy through if/when required.

Dr. Bright Rewrite

Security Clearance level: 4

Special Security clerance level: ███████

Posistion: Site director of 17, 19 and 63.

Location: Where ever needed, usually at one site satated above

Education: Bioengenering and Abnormal Genetics

I should make a note that when it comes to monsters, I usually don’t portray monsters that has a heavy presence on pop culture. There are some exceptions here and there but they had been slightly tweaked and altered for the universe.

So slashers, Stephen king, Creepypastas, and scps don’t exist. Why? Because I feel like if I added them in, it would just feel like I’m making a list of “hey here’s that super popular horror icon from movie/internet/etc” and I think that takes away focus from the main cast.

What about some characters you added in?

Usually it’s because they’re figures older in media and can still be related to preexisting monsters (ex Bride of Frankenstein, Sadako or even the Halloween King. I know it’s Jack Skellington I’m just endlessly teasing that)

I need to be honest with your SCP: Horror Movie Files.

Now I have problems with your broken masquerade universe. The whole supervillians and superhero problem. Now its cool to see my favorite superheroes be made into SCPs but its a huge problem when it becomes way to bloated with (Marvel, DC, The Boys, and other superhero related media.) They shouldn't even exist in the same universe. As a matter of fact they shouldn't even be in the SCP:HMF.

I really hate that you are trying to make Batman support the Foundation because in no universe ever would he ever support the Foundation. If Batman ever learned about about what they do in the Foundation and I don't care if you say "But the Foundation has to commit necessary evil to save the world." Evil is still evil at the end of the day and if Batman or Superman learned what they do. They would shut them down hard. Which then reinforce my point that they shouldn't even be in the same universe as SCP Foundation.

The Boys is an overrated show. I did like season 1 cause it felt like a thriller. Especially homelander. But then later on in the series. It just became Reddit the show. I hate the fact that one of my favorite characters is sexually assaulted is just for jokes. (FUCK YOU ERIK KRIPKE) So because of that I don't like that it has a place in the AU. Because if Homelander and Vought are in the same universe as Marvel and DC characters, what is stopping the justice League, Avengers and any other superhero team from destroying Vought and Homelander? I'll tell you what's stopping them. Nothing. Also kinda weird that there are 5 superman inspired characters living in the same universe. Yeah that AU is way too bloated.

Also, I think it time to rename SCP: Horror Movie Files into something else if you're just going add superheroes and non-horror related media in the AU. Tittle is beginning to feel like false advertisement at this point.

Anyway I hope you have a nice day and I hope my criticism is heard. No offence to your au. I still think its a good but there are some things I disagree about, but like I said. Its your AU, meaning its your story. So go ahead and do what you do.

... Yeah, I know, it's an absolute mess, but I'm going to keep going with what I'm doing and I'm glad you're willing to respect that even if you disagree with it. Yeah, I know since some heroes are basically parodies of others; it makes no sense for them to be in the same universe but that's honestly part of the fun. It's exciting, interesting, and also hilarious to see how they could interact with one another, I've already made several tales about it.

I guess I was more focused on that aspect rather than making sense of it all. Which I know can make people's brain's hurt, I mean it did make mine hurt a few times. BUT like I said in the first disclaimer of SCP: HMF its going to be a mess, but I will try to make this mess work. I'm very determined to make it all work in its own confusing way; you can always count on that. The great thing about being a writer (even if you're not a professional one) you can always do rewrites to make your garbage writing slightly better than it was before.

As for disagreements: I do like The Boys, I don't like the show as much as the comics but yeah. Also bloated? Have you seen the SCP Wiki? Other than that, the only thing I had any problem with was your idea of changing the name of SCP: Horror Movie Files to something else... no... NEVER...

I truly wish I could prevent myself from having Sebastian Solace and Pressure be my special interest. It's just so clear I want the game to be something it isn't and it's just going to constantly fall short of that.

Being autistic means I notice patterns really well. I recognize repeated symbols and extrapolate information from them very well. It's why I always seem like I'm clairvoyant when it comes to video games. I recognize themes and extrapolate from them and often end up doing so very accurately. I enjoy doing that.

And Pressure is based off of games that heavily encourage doing that, Ultrakill and SCP foundation. Games where there's a huge underlying lore going on that every design and writing choice is meant to contribute to.

Pressure does that to an extent, but the world is only really as deep as what's on screen and not much further. Which, to be clear IS NOT A BAD THING. There's nothing wrong with implying a larger world but not actually having it fleshed out and just leaving it up to player interpretation.

But, as someone who enjoys digging deeper and who expects the game to be more like something like Ultrakill, it's driving me insane.

There's so many things that have the potential to be so interesting and hint towards really really cool possibilities, but none of them mean anything and they by and large boil down to "it looked cool" or "it would be funny".

For instance, there's a monster called The Angler which is a sort of angler fish face with 3 light blue glowing eyes, two in the normal positions and one extra above the right. Sebastian also is an angler fish creature with 3 light blue glowing eyes in the exact same position. They're the only 2 characters in the game to have this eye set up and the only two characters (aside from other variants of the angler monster) that are related to angler fish.

So I immediately assumed "clearly we're meant to draw a connection here. There's a redacted thing in Sebastian's file that he was combined with. We must be intended to assume it's the angler. That seems obvious."

Nope. No connection. Total coincidence. I don't even know if there IS an official answer for what the redacted entity in his file is. It may just be an excuse to include whatever design elements they want without needing to justify them. It feels like, if your most important npc and your most common enemy have such glaringly similar design elements but no connections at all, it's at least slightly bad design. The immediate assumption with two creatures based off the same animal is that there's a connection. If there's not, you need to be very specific about distancing them in terms of their design, not giving one the most defining feature of the other.

Sebastian also wears a coat he sewed an extra sleeve onto for his 3rd arm. Which is a little design element I really love. It shows he must have found this outfit. It wasn't made for him. It's an easy way to visually explain why he's not in a prison uniform. These aren't his normal clothes. He must have found or stolen them.

Except he's a 60 foot sea monster whose humanoid section is still at least double the size of a normal human being. So where on earth did he get the clothes??

In something like Ultrakill, those kind of design things would be there to tell a story. We'd immediately be told that something else in this place is Sebastian's size that isn't Sebastian.

Except we aren't being told that. And we aren't being told that there's a connection between him and the angler monster. We're not really being told anything more than what's in the document system. Anything beyond that is metaphorical set dressing. There's a constant feeling, for me anyway, of finding brightly colored boxes with bows on top and then being told "Why did you think there would be something inside? Why can't it just be a cool box with a bow?" Sure it can. It's just you made it look like something that would normally have something inside it. It makes it hard to appreciate the pretty box when it looks so much like a present.

Which, again, IS FINE. There's no reason a game has to have things that will never be relevant to the plot fleshed out behind the scenes. It's truly fine and sometimes even better for design and story decisions to be based on "it looked good" and "it sounded cool" instead of needing some big explanation for everything all the time. My qualms here aren't with the game itself, but with the fact I am fixating on it despite clearly wanting it to be something it isn't and isn't trying to be. It's extremely frustrating.

The crazy part? This would be an actual criticism I could see all over twitter and reddit. The show has a world filled with Black and Non-Black POC characters but I know people would focus on the few white dudes that show up in the story.

That would probabaly be the one thing I'd hear in person and get legitimately mad about lmao. "What about the white guys in the story?" Bro what!? You have like over a million shows with white dude leads!

Soooo slightly related there was a pilot script I wrote for a SCP/Paranormal agency type show and the main leads were an Japanese Woman(a Miss Pauling type character), African-AMerican man (Engineer and main office hardware/facilities report) and a white guy (sort of head of security, his second in command was a Black woman). I was going to Trojan Horse it with following the white guy as the lead in the pilot so it could get picked up but at the second episode I killed/wrote him off so it could focus on the Black and Non Black POC leads.

★ Regarding Hazbin Hotel I would prefer to avoid any kind of request regarding Valentino and the rape issue.

★ I know that Valentino is a bad character, since he is a sinner, however I don't feel comfortable and I don't think it's right to write about rape with such "lightness" if I can define it that way.

★ This doesn't mean I won't write for Valentino, I think it's unfair to put his character aside simply because of this. Obviously what he does is horrible but he's just as bad as, for example, Alastor.

★ Regarding Creepypasta I would like to avoid writing for: S. Offenderman and Dr. Smiley.

★ As for S. Offenderman: it's the same motivation I gave for Valentino. This means I will still write for him but I'll avoid anything rape related.

★ For Dr. Smiley the reason seems obvious to me.

★ In fact, there are 3 characters who have this name: Ben, Benjamin and B.E.N.

★ I will write headcanons for them later, however I wanted to specify their ages.

★ Ben is an adult, around 22 years old.

★ Benjamin is a young teen, around 12 years old.

★ B.E.N have no age, yet they take the form of a young teen, but they don't really have a specific appearance as they can alter it.

Reydarr heard that a new SCP would be coming in, and they were assigned to look over it.

They heard the familiar notification indicating a work-related message, it’s information about the SCP…

A young child that refers to themselves as (Y/N)

They had the ability to see ghosts and interact safely with usually aggressive SCPs…

The child was found while containing SCP-682 again…the large beast was seemingly defending the kid…?

Reydarr’s timer went off, signaling the official start of their work hours.

They grabbed their stuff and headed to see the new entity.

You were drawing 682 when Reydarr entered the room.

You looked scared until you saw that they weren’t human?

Reydarr sat down criss cross in front of you with a simple clipboard containing some files on you.

You were still a little scared, even sitting down Reydarr was about twice your standing height.

The finally put the clipboard in their work bag with a sigh, looking to you with a sympathetic smile.

You decided to introduce yourself, mumbling a bit “I’m..(Y/N). Why am I here? And why do you look like a doctor when you’re not human?”

The Inhuman scientist smiled a bit. “Well, I got a sort of promotion, I suppose.. Since I was helping when I was supposed to be contained, I was promoted to being a researcher. And most SCPs are ok with me, none harm me, so we have that in common!”

You nod, slightly smiling at the parental vibe the strange doctor gave off.

They looked around the barren room, frowning slightly, speaking softly to themselves “well this isn’t quite fit for a child..”

They turned to you introducing themselves “I almost forgot! I usually go by DR. Ree, but my name’s Reydarr..at least that’s what I go by…”

You tilted your head at the last part. Noticing your confusion, Reydarr explained.

“My original ‘name’ is ‘Entity-000-Redacted’..”

You hummed in understanding. It seemed that they felt a kinship with you…

You speak at a moderate tone “How old were you when you came here?” Reydarr shook their head

“I wasn’t here at first, I was at a different foundation entirely..as to answer the question, I was 19 when I first stayed here.”

You let out a quiet ‘ohh’ at Reydarr’s answer.

They stood up, and you grabbed on of their six hands because you thought they were leaving you. Reydarr looked at you with a reassuring smile.

“I’m just grabbing some old things of mine from my childhood, I’ll let you pick out some you like!”

Your eyes sparkled with joy as you gently let go of Reydarr’s hand and sat on your small beanbag.

Reydarr came back in a little under an hour with a box of things for you to pick out, they stopped when they heard your screech of fear.

They set the box down on a bench, already labeled as theirs. They sprinted to the observation room connecting to your chamber, seeing a guard trying to drag you away… some in them snapped as they angrily pried both the doors open, not bothering to use their keycard to enter. The guards froze at the breaking of the first door, you were crying because one guard was painfully squeezing your arm.

Reydarr forced the inner door open, pure rage in all their eyes as the guards cowered.

“LET. THEM. GO.” The guard tried to protest but noticed Reydarr wasn’t using any old glare, but their go glare of ‘I can and will kill you if you don’t listen’

The guard released you as Reydarr stepped closer, you ran behind Reydarr, not caring for the open doors that could possibly lead to eventual freedom, instead you held onto their hand while standing behind them.

Reydarr pointed to the door where some other researchers were seeing what was going on, quickly walking away when they saw the tense situation.

Reydarr spoke one word, a demand that if not met would lead to death.

“OUT.”

The guards left, Reydarr turned to you, picked you up in a hug, you embraced them back.

They walked out, passing the observation room, and heading back to the box that was thankfully left in place and untouched.

They sat on the bench next to the box, shifting you to face the box. They opened the box of old things they found, an elephant plush, set of spider figurines, a weighted blanket, and more.

You smiled, it wasn’t forced like it always was, instead it held joy. You looked to Reydarr, silently asking if you could look through it, they nodded.

You picked out:

a movable snake doll, a purple scorpion plush, some building toys, a bouncy ball, a few of the spider figures, and the weighted blanket.

You gently closed the box, temporarily setting the things you picked on top, before turning back to Reydarr and hugging them as a thank you..

I wish I had a sliding bar graph so I could just chart everyone on it. I'll just go in order of our designation.

One: Neutral, she has minimal human contact outside of anything Foundation related, and overall seems indifferent.

Three: Slightly positive, as he is a Little Mister, it's in his blood (DNA?) but after seeing how humanity has thoroughly fucked up his siblings it has dampened his views.

Four: I believe also slightly positive? He is the Embodiment of Nature and had hundreds of thousands of human followers, but he also lost his son to a human and had humans hunt werewolves down, soo...

Five: Positive, as she was saved by them, but that seems to be it. She mostly spends her time at her site, avoiding site-17 like the plague.

Six: Slightly negative, as his kind was hunted to death. It seems to only be a slight hate, as he finds humans to be very delicious.

Seven: Negative. She was kidnapped as a child and made into an assassin by the Chaos Insurgency! Of course that'll leave a sour taste in your mouth!

Eight: Very positive; they believe in the absolute power of kindness.

Nine: Neutral, he doesn't talk much about humanity, perhaps it has to do with him being a robot.

Ten (me!): I'm pretty positiv about us hoomans. "I think we can make improvements, and I will help the world!" <- something I said as a kid lol, just remembered this while writing :P

Eleven: Neutral-positive, He was neutral as the godfather of the Cracked Clubs, but has shifted to positive as he became the godfather of Site-230.

Twelve: Very negative. He finds humans to be a sort of plague and would wish for them to be dead; he tolerates us because we're helping his world.

Thirteen: Negative, which is unsurprising, as she was in a war and saw many friends die.

13-ii: Negative, which I guess is a scripted fate for any instance of SCP 079. It seems the negativity has been quelled by interactions with the founders.

Fourteen: Neutral, he was in the Task Force with me, so he's seen what I have, but seems to not take it as well as I did. Then again I repress a lot.
