needletail/sleekwhisker as haha toxic yuri like real and true i get it but a lesbian reading of these two as teens who are labelled to be "problem children" and get harsher treatment to try and get them to conform so they claw onto one another as a means of retaining themselves and get sucked into this shitty abusive group that promises them a family and it splits them and you factor in two older men sort of promising that normalcy that they've been told will make them "happy". do you fuck with me!!!!!!!!!

Violetshine/Tree: Could have been fine until it ended up with Tree entirely eclipsing Violetshine in the narratively to the point she is literally just Mom in the background while the Erin's new favorite shiny toy gets to have as much attention as they can foist on him. Relationship becomes...a little strange with the weird choice to make him, uh, help Violet's mom deliver her...? You didn't have to do that, authors, that's a strange idea of like...fatebound meetings or whatever they were going for. I don't think it's the worst, considering Tree and Violet at least meet and get together as adults. But it is a Choice.

Needletail/Sleekwhisker: i like it :) I'll say now there's probably little to no wlw ships I dislike I'll remain an avid supporter of shipping two women together no matter how little there is but I like what these two have. That shitty bond you and the other questioning girl in high school forge, the toxicity of being an immature teen mixed with the burgeoning dread of self-discovery that you are the other. Making shitty choices together, hurting each other because you're mad. People should lean into the code angle/being considered "problem children" together part of their relationship instead of the comphet men in their lives, mainly because that's how I like to view them lol

I don’t ship things super hard in Warriors, but my favourite ships tend to be non-canon ones like: MothPool, SleekNeedle, FeatherThrush, HawkAsh, WhiteTiger, DarkHawk, and HollyCinder. 

If I had to pick canon ones, I would say I’m partial to HollyFallen (this is sorta canon?), GraySilver, TallJake, RavenBarley, and BlueOak.

General Opinion over said character: i actually really really didnt like needletail at all when i read avos. it wasnt until shattered sky that i became fond of her. which sucks bc thats the book she died. anyway i think if i re-read avos i’d like her a lot
