Chapter 55 - On Floor One 3 Meal: Hamburger Steak with Changeling sauce Cooked by: Senshi and Marcille
Chapter 56 - Bicorn Meal: Crispy Crunchy Mushroom Sandwich Cooked by: Senshi?
The chapters that had no "meal is done" panel were:
32 - Sea Serpent Part 1
37 - Harpy
39 - Shapeshifter 1
52 - Bacon and Eggs
53 - On Floor One 1
54 - On Floor One 2
Again most of them are the multi parts. chapter 47 originally didn't have the title and stats but the panel looked just like a food is done panel so I went to check on the official release and they added it so it's here. Chapter 37 I think its so far the only non multi part chapter where no food is prepped or eaten, in chapter 52 they make and drink tea even tho there's no special panel.
Tumblr media
Now for stats.
Senshi made/worked on 17, 18 if you count the Crispy Crunchy Mushroom Sandwich and 19 if you count the small help with the omelet, I'll count the sandwich so 18.
Chilchuck worked on 3 meals
Marcille worked on 3 meals, one of them she was making a potion but it got used in a sauce
Laios made/worked on 4 meals, 2 of them by himself! And one of them with minimal Senshi help.
Izutsumi helped with the dumplings, you go izutsumi.
Out of the 24 meals in these 4 volumes, 22 were food and 1 was medicine and 1 was a goopy brick
Out of the 22 foods Senshi worked on 17 of them (1 of his was the brick), 3 of them were Laios, 1 of them was ready made food and 1 was the golden kingdom citizens
The eastern style meal was mostly made by Maizuru but Senshi helped.
There was a few panels that were small/had dialog in them but I counted cause they had the meal title, dragon ham title appears twice but I only counted as one meal.
Once again, I'm bad with numbers if I got anything wrong feel free to correct me!

Golden Kingdom Breakfast and Skyfish and Chips
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Still feeding friends this week! For breakfast, ended up cooking with ingredients that I had around: pancakes, sausage, leftover soup
Tumblr media
But the Skyfish is where the fun is. Stuffed swai with cooked marinated beef, carrot, scrambled egg, broccoli (the cabbage got left in the b&b and I had to improvise) and then wrapped it in a tofu skin and battered and fried them up. The wings were potatoes mandolined thin and rolled up and slightly battered with the same batter and fried.
Tumblr media
It's like fish and chips plus! I don't know what else to say! Chilchuck was right, some ale with this is pretty great. Prep under the read more!

I use skyfish for okizeme since thats what Daisuke intended. Three opponents load in the tower, “you looking to start a war there Hoss?” I say as I grab my UMA and music set to Kiss of Death. Kill the Chipp on chip damage he losses 2-0. Perform my super but whiff entirely because goldlewis’ arms are so small, in the resulting recovery get hit with a corner carry combo by the Sin. Have to resort to the Psych burst thats just maxxed, “Get Away From Me”, resulting counter hits reduces his health to zero and break the wall. Charge Wild Assault and hit the last terrified Johnny and launch him into the air, wait on the round to end because Behemoth Typhoon wall bounce loop combo drains health easily.
Just as Daisuke intended.

Rob's 11/6/22 "Sun Worship with DJ Boros Bully"
Sunday Nov 6th, 2022 began as any given Sunday might: sun salutations, ritual sacrifice, and paying patronage to my sun lord Ra to curry favor for the battles to come. For this Sunday was a Pauper Modern tournament, my fourth, hosted by the inimitable duo of gracious-provider-of-living-room-venues Jared Rudolph and charming tournament organizer Jesse. I checked my unicorn deck box to confirm its Boros legion contents: 75 common cards legal in the Modern format, unchanged since August 14th and undefeated since May Day. This day I would accept no outcome less than total domination. I’m here to get cards banned. Let’s gooOOO!!!
DJ Boros Bully has a rock solid and reliable main deck fine-tuned to drop under-costed threats that enable cantripping artifacts to churn through cards. The under-costed threats are Glint Hawk, Kor Skyfisher, and Kuldotha Rebirth –all threats with the “drawback” of bouncing or sacrificing an artifact to be played. The artifacts are 4x Experimental Synthesizer, 4x Ichor Wellspring, a Spare Supplies, and 3x Rustvale Bridge in a pinch. Thraben Inspector provides a body and an artifact, and I couldn’t ask for more from a single white mana. Seeker of the Way takes advantage of the significant noncreature spell storm count the deck tends to generate turn 3 and onward. The remaining 12 slots are reach to close out the game that can do double duty as removal: 4x Lightning Bolt, 4x Galvanic Blast, 2x Makeshift Munitions, and 2x Rally the Peasants. The party starts with an Experimental Synthesizer or Ichor Wellsping, amasses a wide field of bodies while pulling ahead on resources, then closes out the typical game with an alpha strike or two and burn to the face.
Sideboarded games are where the deck really shines. Stronger answers can come in to replace the least effective 2-6 cards. Oftentimes this is Kuldotha Rebirths, Rally the Peasants, or Makeshift Munitions against sweepers and the opponent’s improved removal. These are cards that lose value in games 2 and 3 when I can anticipate lesser board presence and a longer game. Against Brian’s Big Butts in the final round, I found having creatures available of 2 different colors helped get around “Protection from Color” auras. This was relevant all 3 games of the match. Sometimes Spare Supplies is the 60th card, other times a Lightning Bolt.
Against Dom on UR Cyclops Storm
The last time I faced Dom he was on Infect. I was downright RELIEVED to see him play out a mountain, island, and Flame Slash my turn 2 Seeker of the Way. Infect is the match-up I fear most with this play group. Boros has the tools to out-midrange every Pauper Modern deck I’ve seen yet, but Infect is able to present an unbeatable board state in the face of my answers.
Before Dom plopped a turn 3 Cyclops onto his board I got a flicker of an idea for Izzet Control. I think there’s a deck there. Ninjas, Flame Slashes, Counterspells –I want to see it! Anway, I dropped a second Seeker into his removal, sent some Glint Hawks in for chip damage, and then we each took our shot. Dom worked up his storm count and hit me for 15 damage, luckily without the Temur Battle Rage finisher, and I returned the gesture with a lethal cast-and-flashback of Rally the Peasants for 14. Close! Consistent flying beats let me keep the pressure on while my goblins plus a bolt pressured a trade if he dared to block.
I took out Makeshift Munitions because it requires setup and mana. Even after I upgrade my removal, this match-up is a race to 20 since chump blocks are futile in the face of Temur Battle Rage. Bolt out because it doesn’t kill 4-toughness Cyclopses. I mulliganed to 6 and kept a single mountain and a Synthesizer. It got there. Galvanic Blast for the win.
IN: 2x Journey to Nowhere, 2x Celestial Flare
OUT: 2x Lightning Bolt, 2x Makeshift Munitions
Yoni with Green Stompy
Rancor is a beast. Savage Swipe does work. And Vines of Vastwood is a great card. Yoni dropped a turn 1 Vault Skirge every game of the match. Seeker of the Way saved me by gaining heaps of life. I killed one Rancor with a Lightning Bolt to its target while it was still on the stack. I also got GOT by a couple Vines of Vastwood. Having flyers against Silhana Ledgewalkers was vital –don’t forget she has Hexproof! I sure did.
Game 3 was a strange one. I mulliganed to 6 and kept a two-lander, including Rustvale Bridge and 2 Glint Hawks. I proceeded to juggle my artifact land to get my fleet on board until I sacrificed it and a second bridge to a pair of Kuldotha Rebirths. I didn’t see a single cantrip artifact the whole game, but Rustvale Bridges gave me a path to victory. Turn 5 I untapped with 3 Hawks, a horde of goblins threatening lethal, and only a single land in play.
IN: Abrade, 2x Journey to Nowhere
OUT: Spare Supplies, 2x Rally the Peasants
Chris piloting Mono-Red Burn
Chris got me sweating. My first game was a mulligan to 5 cards, a Rift Bolt ate my Seeker of the Way, and although I blocked EVERY SINGLE attack AND managed to get Chris down to ONE HEALTH with a double-Rally the Peasants… they cleaned me up game one.
I realized I got caught up in the moment. I was out of breath. I was on a mull to 5! Chris was setting the pace. I could not allow this. So game 2 I kept a 1-lander with both Seeker and Synthesizer. Let the good beats BLAST.
Turn 3 my card advantage engine went to town pumping a Seeker of the Way. I gained 7 life between 2 attacks and finished the game with 19 life and a Lone Missionary in hand. Exhale. Repeat.
Game 3 I was on the draw with a perfectly reasonable hand of lands, an Inspector, and 2 Seeker of the Way. I dipped to 14 life on turn 3 but ended the game with 23. Chris had to point Bolts at my Seekers while I racked up card advantage. A Kor Skyfisher even bounced one of my Lone Missionary. Profit via prophet!
IN: 3x Lone Missionary
OUT: Spare Supplies, 2x Makeshift Munitions
Brian busting out the Big Butts
              REMATCH! These games were epic.
Brian’s Big Butts manage to hit a sweet spot between threats with sticking power and attack trick combo potential. I was not even positive Brian had anything but Solid Footing and Mana Tithe to play at instant speed game 1. Well, he got me with both. This tournament I gained a lot of relevant life off of Seek of the Way, but infect nullifies. All 3 games Brian threatened me with an infectious loss. Game 1 was a classic example of the power of infect. I gained a total of 20 life during game 1, and it was all rendered superfluous by the infectious pings of Priest of Norn culminating in a 5 counter hit enabled by an instant speed Solid Footing.
Heading into game 2 we each improved our removal options. And we chose the same cards. Journey to Nowhere and Celestial Flare. The problem for Brian: my threats are plentiful and similarly powered while his are limited and enchanted. It didn’t bode well for Brian that I had 6 relevant cards in my board. His game plan resembles Infect or Cyclops plus has a weakness to enchantment removal. Game 2 I poked a hole in Brian’s plans by plucking a Treefolk Umbra away with my sided Leave No Trace. Apparently Disenchant is still good, because I took the game with no further resistance. Game 3 however was a head turner.
Brian took some time to scour his sideboard heading into our final game. Brian once again plopped some butts in my way including a Priests of Norn, and I came out the gates with 2-tougness Inspectors, lands, and card draw, but little aggression. Priests slowly diminished my blockers with Infect’s -1/-1 counter damage replacement effect. We each went wide and I nicknamed Brian’s largest butt, the Priests of Norn, The Abyss. He dropped a Pentarch Ward naming Red after I burned out a previously Warded butt. My Kuldotha Rebirths were no longer effective stalls, so I started chumping with my Inspectors and Hawks. Finally he was pushing his advantage including swinging a 1/3 vigilance flying Skyhunter Prowler with his Priest. I went in for a big pumped Seeker hoping to stall and gain some life, but Brian absorbed all my instant speed burn then dropped a Celestial Flare to blunt my assault. The game was Brian:13, Me:17 & 2 poison counters. He walloped me for 5 more poison counters. I drew a Celestial Flare. Since Brian was attacking with 2 creatures, however the Flare sat in my hand unimpressive, ineffective.
Brian dropped a Journey to Nowhere to remove my last white blocker. He continued to combat and swung in with his enchanted Phyrexian Cleric threatening lethal plus 2 counters in excess. I declared, “Go to blocks,” heart pounding. I realized 5 other combatants had gathered and were looking down at the game. The grand de-throning celebration began as a whisper. The coup de grace was in the red zone. The coup de’tat was underway. Brian picked up his pen, a slight curl in his lip betraying the glee hidden therein, bated breath all around me. “Before damage,” I said. The crowd’s exclamation was deafening.
Celestial Flare hit its mark. Praise the sun.
There was a short exasperated debate over whether Brian intended to attack with his Skyhunter Prowler. In the end, he just hadn’t tapped the Cat, and we were 2 phases down the road. It took me another 3 turns of scrying off Lorehold Campus, bringing that beat back, and reassembling my board for Brian to decide he had seen enough and extend his hand. It took me the car ride home to catch my breath.
Boros holds the line. GGs my friends.
IN: 2x Leave No Trace, 2x Journey to Nowhere, 2x Celestial Flare
OUT: Spare Supplies, Rally the Peasants, 2x Makeshift Munitions, 2x Lightning Bolt
