Last Song: Do It Again - Chemical Brothers Idk i just have a really big playlist that I hit randomize on and I don't have a lot to say about the song hahaha.

Favorite Color: I like teal/aqua if we're going by things I tend to pick out accessorywise. Something in this land:

But I also like pink and forest green.

Last movie/TV show: Movie...uh I watched Twilight because I've never been able to sit through it and good god it's something. The filter they have going on that movie....wrow.

And then for TV I rewatched Reacher and am about to start S2. I could watch the fight scenes over and over!!!! and yeah, you know...

I'm also watching dungeon meshi and my happy marriage which are fun.

Sweet/spicy/savory: I'm going to pick a choice that is not here and say salty....like think pickles/cheeses...or does that count as savory?

Relationship status: married....10 years in october wrowwww

Last thing that I googled: "meal prep" lolll i've fallen off the wagon on packing decent food for lunch so let's find out how that goes.

Current obsession: dbz for about the last year I guess? then there's this poor little man

Last book: oh gosh between all the other stuff i don't/haven't made time to read like...actual books...which feels like an awkward admission!!! I feel like I read fanfiction and comics/manga and I sit with my kid working on learning to read so it's just not something i choose to do in my leisure time at the moment.

Looking forward to: Getting over being sick!!

Dinluke playlist part 1:

Bc we got zero dinluke content in tbobf and I’m still mad about it, here’s my favorite dinluke songs put together in a little tumblr/story playlist. If you’re in the mood to get down in your dinluke feels feel free to listen in order, read my thoughts, and have your heart just absolutely ache with tooth-rotting fluff and maybe a hint of angst. Link to part 2 here.

Without further ado:

This song. Where do I even begin. I love this song so much. Its very atmospheric and lovely and I feel it just perfectly captures Din‘s soft spoken yet steady and immovable devotion as he patiently waits for Luke to grapple with his understanding of attachment and the Jedi code. Ahsoka told him that sometimes the student guides the master, and when given the choice Grogu chose to throw himself into Din’s arms. Perhaps it’s time Luke did the same.

I hear this song from Luke’s pov. Focusing especially on the lyrics: “what if I lose all sight and ambition? What if my heart weakens my vision?” Luke has been shouldered with this unbelievably large burden of trying to rebuild a Jedi order and I know he feels an overwhelming sense of responsibility and duty to keep the Jedi culture alive and pass it on. He’s accepted this burden and already has a plan and a vision for his future. Then this handsome, kind, brave warrior comes along, covered head to toe in shiny beskar, cradling his little green son, and Luke wants. Luke can’t help but want. And I imagine the apprehension (and maybe a bit of fear too) that creeps in as he grapples with where his duty lies, to the Jedi or to his heart.

I see the first verse from Din’s perspective, especially “I was an island before you came along” and “I was a fighter and I was so brave, but I lowered my sword when you held me and swore you’d stay” Din has been operating on his own for a long time. Grogu changed that, but his company brought with it constant fighting and running and battles. He’s been taking care of those around him for so long it’s time someone took care of him. Who better than Luke to hold his hand and shoulder his burdens and let Din experience being protected for once. Verse 2 feels like Luke’s perspective. “I was a rebel, but I had a cause, ‘til you came to town pushed me around and showed me what love was.” I don’t think Luke is going to fall easy, he’s going to cling to ancient Jedi values and feel like he can’t have the things he wants, but Din is so lovely and so suited for him in every way he’s not going to be able to help it.

Personally I really like this one because of the use of words like “theres a force that is occurring” it just feels very fitting to apply to the Star Wars universe and specifically to a Jedi. Once again I see the first verse as being Din’s. “Sometimes you are a desert, bearing dusty dreams. And I’m a nomad lost chasing your mirage through the wind and through the heat.” Luke is a Tatooine farm boy, it feels fitting to compare him to a desert, and he has a power and a purpose Din sometimes struggles to understand. I can imagine Luke feels out of reach every so often, he holds universes inside and he feels almost god-like to Din on occasion and he doesn’t understand how he can compare. Luke’s has verse 2 “sometimes you are a city, some far off distant land. And I’m a tourist lost and I can’t talk cause you’d never understand.” Din is a Mandalorian who tries to uphold a strict creed, and he is also their king. I can see a disconnect between their two cultures as they struggle to understand each other and sometimes Luke feels like a tourist with him and grogu trying to fit into their world. But then the next lyrics “the only way out is through and when it comes to you….nothing can take my heart” In the end, none of these differences matter. They love each other enough to weather all the storms, to respect their differences and stand steadfastly next to each other as a clan and a family.

Here we have the honorary Taylor Swift song. Is it possible to have a ship playlist without at least one? I like the opening of “I was the water when your ship rolled in that night” it makes me think of Luke’s x-wing rolling up to the imperial cruiser during the moment that started it all. I see this song from Din’s perspective. He sees Luke as this mythical being or a force of nature and he is along for the ride. I like the way this song makes Luke seem magical and mysterious and Din is lost in his current. “The more that you say the less I know, wherever you stray I follow, begging for you to take my hand, wreck my plans, that’s my man”

I see this song from Luke’s pov. They are the ultimate power couple and I love how soft and full of hope this song is. It doesn’t matter what evil or danger comes their way, they’re more than ready to face it because Din is a king and Luke is a lionheart. They are invincible together.

Here’s the second part of my dinluke playlist filled with all my favorite dinluke songs and cultivated specifically to get you down in your dinluke feels. Link to part 1 here

This is for Din. I’m reminded of the fic “His Beacon, His Harbor” on ao3 by annathaema (moony). It is one of my favorites and I love the quote in the story description of “the mandalorian becomes Din Djarin. Din Djarin becomes. (Luke helps).” This song paints the picture of not only falling in love with someone that might not be attainable, but also grappling with a creed he’s upheld his whole life, and if he can still be a mandalorian even though he’s removed his helmet. “Losing your religion” means that your faith was tested to such a degree that you might lose your religion. Din wants those he loves most to see his face. He’s losing his religion. Can also be applied to Luke falling in love with

Both Luke and Din have, not only messy pasts, but messy clouded futures and almost impossible expectations placed on them. I like the idea of them coming together and leaving everything else out of it. In the midst of the chaos of their lives they find peace and solace in each other and can just “kiss like real people do”.

This song is oh so cozy and soft it feels like you could wrap it around yourself and stay warm forever. Luke and Din have both suffered so much. They’ve lost so much, and have had to endure so much. I just think they both deserve a soft place to land. I can just see them finding a home in each other and making it something full of light, love, and hope. They can patch up and smooth over each other’s cracks and realize they’re not as broken as they believed. “What makes a house a home” is the love they have for each other that overcomes all odds and finally gives them a place to rest.

This song is the perfect sequel to “losing my religion”. It’s a happy conclusion to Luke and Din struggling to sort through their own respective religions and find a way to come together. They can find peace with their code/creed while also finding new purpose, faith, and meaning in each other and their relationship.

Do I even need to explain this one lol. This is very silly but Din wants to kiss Grogu’s teacher it had to be added.

This is the last one. I wanted to end on a very soft and hopeful note. I see this from Din’s pov. I can see him becoming a great king, but his duties pull him away from Luke’s academy and the little family he’s made for himself. But he’s not worried. For the first time in a long time he has a home. Somewhere he belongs. Somewhere that’s his. Somewhere that will never disappear or go away. Somewhere constant. He knows Luke and Grogu are here to stay. Are as steady and steadfast as his beskar. No matter how far away he goes, he’ll always get to joyfully make his way back home to his family.
