Half-Foods v Mumbo Jumbo:

Maybe I'm just odd but the whole suit against Mumbo is my favorite ongoing storyline and the one thing I'm most excited for.

Been keeping tabs on its development over the past month or so and what makes it so funny to me is that unlike the previous court case of Cleo v Doc where Cleo was completely innocent and Doc was cartoonishly guilty. BOTH sides of this court case are playing dirty or have ulterior motives for pursuing the case.

It started as a noise complaint and then an environmental pollution complaint and we've seen Mumbo be completely unapologetic, doubling down on the noise and ignoring the contamination. He's throwing bricks through windows! we all know this. His talk with Joel and Scar show he's not above bribery or obfuscating the truth to save his ass.

Meanwhile Xb's been doing everything to get his case going. Opening up customer surveys hoping that just maybe with a little promise of a discount you'll complain about Mumbo's shop? *wink wink*. He chose Doc of all people to be his lawyer, who from the get go saw this case as a way of getting revenge on the legal system for sending him to skyblock prison and (claims to have) just passed the bar in florida for this opportunity. He's determined not to lose this case and has considered planting tnt under the courthouse as a contingency. "If the law fails a baseball bat never does". Keralis is there too and he's in it for the money, which he needs so he can gamble at Doc's underground gambling den. Doc is their lawyer. This isn't a conflict of interests its a car pile-up of interests.

Joe wants to be Mumbo's lawyer (fingers crossed) and is possibly the only one who may be involved who is squeaky clean in this mess.

what’s interesting is that, in other instances of R.C. speaking to the viewers so far, they’ve referred to themselves as plural– “we”. this includes in the most recent video that started all this: the hidden messages include “This was the only one we could save”, and the description says “We are not sure of their location”. however, here we’re speaking to an individual, or at least someone speaking on behalf of themself and not as representative of the assumed greater whole. “I am always watching”. “Do not tell about my existence”.

at the time, we were assuming the second communication was R.C. due to the encounter earlier that day, as well as their appearance in chat when Solar was trying to cause a distraction for Rue.

i keep going back to what Corundum said: we changed, you know me. as usual, i'm made of red string, but i do feel like that establishes that we've definitely talked to Corundum before. it's just a matter of where. they're like Sapphire in that they're able to breach the fourth wall, but at this point we've been using Sapph as our benchmark because we don't have many other "awakened" (for lack of a better term) Rubys to compare with. i mean, there's tRuby, but he barely knows what's going on and is busy being used as Sapphire's conduit.

in short: oh, god, we have another galactic-speaking time god to keep track of.

Sometimes I think about the best techno duo poll that was on Twitter and how Jimmy & techno and Deo & techno were against each other in the first round and it was 56% - 44%. Deo ended up winning but. MANNNN… it pained me to see how close it was. Normally I wouldn’t care but. Jimmy and techno interacted ONCE 😭 whereas deo and techno have been friends since 2017, they shared a skyblock island, deo helped him in the potato wars ( whitelisted acc ), they stole from each other and spent too much money on too useless stuff on skyblock, they were on smpe together, techno bullied him in Purely Skill games ( lucky block ), Deo killed Floof ( on smp earth ). I get a lot of Deo stuff in technos vids were blink and you miss it commentary/off handed mentions ( save for like the goons or lucky block video where Deo was actively in vc with techno ) and Deo isn’t known by people who aren’t skyblock or pvp nerds back in the day and Jimmy is Very popular but. AGGGHHHH…. I think Jimmy and techno are fun but. Deo and techno D:

Ok, listen, I may not be any good at art but if there is one thing I can do, it's build ttrpg characters for games no one else has ever played. And I'm currently obsessed with Skyblock Kingdoms and also in a superhero mood, sooooo here's Ruby and Viking in my SBK superhero au built in mutants and masterminds 3e bon appetit

(I picked the colors from Viking's eyes so if you don't like how it looks I'm pretty sure that's legally his fault) (also it's really crunchy because I had to save a word file as a pdf and then as a jpg and it came out kinda bad oops)

For Viking, I played a lot into the space aspect of his lore (you'll never guess what I did for Ruby). Viking is a teleporter; he doesn't hit hard, but it's hard to see him coming and he's near impossible to hit without a lucky break. He can also turn intangible with a little focus (insert space based justification here for shameless dominion pandering), and like his counterpart Ruby, he can sense when others are tampering with their domains.

(For anyone that IS familiar with mutants and masterminds, you'll probably notice that I didn't fully optimize this character. I was a lot more focused on hitting the flavor of what I wanted than making a perfect character, and M&M is a pretty forgiving game anyway)

Ruby has a lot of utility abilities: she can stop time, but can't affect anyone else while time is stopped, and can sometimes see the past or the future in scraps. Ruby is extremely resilient, mostly rooted in their ability to heal themself repeatedly by taking herself back to a time before she got hit, though it gets harder the more damage they take. Otherwise, a lot of his abilities in combat rely on using his time powers to try something several times, eventually setting up the perfect hit. This results in them hitting a bit harder than viking, though both spacetime siblings lean towards the more accurate but less powerful end of the spectrum.

(Ruby is a bit more optimized than viking; a lot of her powers are pretty cheap and that left me more space to play with on defenses)

I'm probably going to make more of these for other sbk members, but it actually takes a while to make each character and put them into this template to look halfway decent (I actually made this template in word myself. it took far longer than I am comfortable admitting. I have so many other things to do right now. )

for the past solid week ive been watching almost nothing but minecraft challenge brainrot videos and they've brought me much simple joy but i also accidentally found my new favorite minecraft channel (vivilly). i specifically have his skyblock video saved to my liked videos playlist which is KIND OF a feat?? considering i only have like a couple hundred videos in there and i usually reserve it for animations and rly funny short videos. he and his friend palpers are really funny and i adore how much he trolls and annoys him bc i also love trolling and annoying my friends — literally so many quotable moments between them and if i had the time or patience to learn how to edit then i'd love to make a compilation of just every time vivilly refuses to help palpers getting attacked by mobs and palpers yelling "CAN YOU GET INVOLVED??? ONCE? EVER?". i like his single player longplays too bc his voice is surprisingly soothing yet simultaneously full of life — i also strongly relate to him whenever he plays horror mods like the parasites in the city video and how he keeps trying to find places to hole up in. 10/10 yter am binging his other videos as we speak.

anyway got mildly obsessed with vault hunters again for a bit here because i was DETERMINED to make the ispawners farm i failed to make in my original save. and i've done it now! modular routers WERE basically required i was right about that! and also man running on double loot/exp means i've gotten about to where i left off FAST; i have gone back to normal now to not outpace myself, haha.

my current spread of mod unlocks is, in order, for this world:

iron generators

double pouches

modular routers

dark utilities

ispawners

which is a bit different, on account of potions being a thing, actually taking a storage solution that isn't ssn, and having modular routers instead of create and botony pots! i have to say that in SKYBLOCK i would take botony pots before ispawners every time; in a regular world i think waiting like this was worth it because i can fairly easily find most of the botony pot stuff on my own. also i know now that iron generators causes problems by making better power solutions (such as powah) too expensive, but so far "single diamond generator that burns all my scaffolding" has easily met all my energy requirements thus far, so i figure until i take something much more power hungry than my current rs setup, i'm all good.

i cannot express enough, by the way, how FAST you get everything if you turn on vaultLoot PLENTY instead of NORMAL. you also start to outpace your gear a bit; i think on 3x you'd totally outpace yourself. it's very fun though to just get up to speed THAT FAST. like i did have to knock down the vault difficulty to easy but high chance i would have had to do that anyway as anti-frustration since i'm playing on normal mode and have to pay to get my gear back when i die.

...anyway i have met the Big Goal i had set for myself so i am now gonna. write. instead of being distracted by vault hunters. wish me luck.

Okay so first one. Herobrine haunting hermitcraft. So my idea was like - HC has a lot of old school and new school minecrafters playing together, which i distinguish from each other entirely based on vibes. Like, grian, mumbo, pearl, gem, team zit - they all feel more new school to me whereas like scar, keralis, cleo, joe, beef, etho, bdubs all feel more old school - sometimes because theyve played mc for a long time and sometimes just kind of because. ignore this - the only real important thing is that I think the more 'old school' players are familiar with herobrine as a concept in this au [I think all of the hermitcrafts probably know about herobrine irl so] whereas if the new schoolers know about herobrine at all it's as like, a ghost story. A myth.

So herobrine possessing the server and the hermits having to band together to defeat him and get their server back. And like, Herobrine goes from old school to new school mechanics. He adapts, learns to use a shield, can critical hit, all that jazz. thats all I have for this one but. uh. god. I love herobrine <- has been familiar w minecraft since infdev.

THEN there's my Vault Hunters based AU that's Polytechs that I...need to actually play vault hunters to PROPERLY right but the idea is - Iskall is a Vault Hunter and Mumbo and Grian alike. His basemates. He goes out and hunts vaults, they do everything to keep he base running so that he can keep going out to hunt vaults. Mumbo and Iskall designed the redstone and mechanical contraptions in the base together, Grian built the base around it - and they sometimes help out by reading maps to him over communicators, or prepping for him to come back hard. And I have this basic idea that something is like, threatening their world and that's why Iskall needs the vault artifacts - I have this idea that Poltechs is in one world bubble, the Create guys are in another world bubble, and then Imp and Skizz's skyblock is another world bubble. There are other vault Hunters [AKA the people on the VH SMP which i DESPERATELY want to watch oh my god,,,] unknowingly working against Iskall. Iskall maybe had a sort of Matrix-saw-outside-the-bubble moment where he realized they're all being like puppeted to be distracted from like, a world eater or something so its Polytechs save the day w VH mechanics.

THIS ONE,,,,, IS MORE A CONCEPT THAN AN IDEA BUT Etho & Mumbo & Xisuma as Old Gods - Herobrine, basically, with Grian & Pearl & Jimmy as New Gods - the watchers, and Iskall as like The Creator

Also I have a treebark like. darkish romance beauty and the beast meets buzzfeed unsolved style idea where, basically. Martyn can see ghosts but not really interact with them. He doesn't know how to get rid of it, he's gotten used to it. Ren is a werewolf King who has some sort of violent entity haunting his castle. He kidnaps Martyn because he hears as far as 'Martyn can see ghosts' and decides that can probably help. Martyn, again, doesnt know how to get rid of them but also the one is Ren's castle is weird because it can talk to him and interact with him and it looks kind of like Ren and huh- and basically. Basically. The two of them trying to stop this violent entity that swears it knows Ren, slowly but surely falling in love.

"You Were Right" (and a behind the scenes on how we got here)

initially i was gonna make a post going over all of Anathra's lore so far but then i realized i do not quite have the spoons for it, and also i'd like to break it up into easier to cover parts anyway. so let's jump straight into the most recent mystery!

i've already talked before about the hidden messages in Rubyco's videos, and about the split-second easter eggs in Viking's. encrypted messages aren't exactly new to Skyblock Kingdoms.

but, okay, let's rewind a little. it's 1 am, a couple days before Anathra's episode 8 premieres. i'm winding down for bed, see the premiere on my homepage, and go: hey! i wonder what Anathra's doing next episode!

hey what the fuck is that. why is there elder furthark

a bit of backstory on me: i love translating things. you probably know this by now. i also knew a guy who was big into norse mythology stuff, and that included him knowing elder furthark. so i immediately peg that as "oh, shit, that's elder furthark" and track down a translation tool.

("why are you going into backstory" we'll get to that. lol lmao.)

anyway, its 1 am, i run it through the first tool i find, and get:

i recognized the alphabet as elder furthark

(and yet my dyslexic ass doesnt realize theres two rs in it until now. it has been 5 years.)

trying to translate the box name gave me gibberish ("io nht tuil")

i also knew from the "something weird happened" message that elder furthark isnt 1:1 with the english alphabet

oops there are two translator tools. oops they use different runes for "y"

due to [gestures at cherry and doak], there is a minor scuffle about if it says "you" or if it actually IS supposed to say "iou"

we still cant translate the box

i am immediately embarrassed because, oops, turns out Angerthas (dwarven runs from Lord of the Rings) has alphabet overlap with elder furthark, so that's where the confusion came from. seeing as it's a post-filming decision, that does mean that the episode description and chat message were translated correctly, but the box is in Angerthas and, despite having the same runes, they do not correspond to the same english letters.

i spend a bit alternating between bonking myself for my mistake and bonking my very tired head against Angerthas for a bit until WhiteQry suggests that maybe what Anathra said in chat is the same thing. later, Aquelon is able to translate it as "IU WER RAIT". or,

YOU WERE RIGHT

...right about what?

skipping back to the events of the episode: Anathra realizes that he's lost time. he says he's only felt this "once before", doesn't know what the writing is, and is generally thrown off by... whatever just happened.

i need to rewatch Anathra's pov before i can dig into what i think the message means-- my initial guess is that it has something to do with his ?nightmare? from episode 5, although im not sure past that. considering his pov plays with the concept of the fourth wall a bit as-is, the message also might not be for Anathra (and he can't read it with glasses on either way).

Anathra's in the middle of something. there's a lot going on with him, inside and outside, and i really want to do more overviews of his lore because it's very fun. until then, keep an eye out for more strange messages i guess.
