The average English speaking Touhou fan prefers to analyze yuri ships through the lens of asking which one is SpongeBob and which one is Squidward.
Marisa? SpongeBob. Reimu? Squidward.
Renko? SpongeBob. Maribel? Squidward.
Go deeper. Yuugi’s SpongeBob and Parsee’s Squidward. Nazrin and Shou got so little characterization for years that they repeatedly swapped roles before canon cemented that Shou is the Squidward.
Even your beloved rarepair? Oil Fire? Sanae is SpongeBob in fanon and Squidward in canon. There’s layers. But even with the layers, it’s all SquidBobs.
