where’s my viggo who acts like a lil shit whenever someone does something ryker would do? where’s my viggo very awkwardly trying to be better for hiccup and teach him how to be a better strategist and chief?? where’s my viggo that tries (and fails) to leave the edge after his final “demise”/recovery and can’t bc these children are constantly on the brink of doing something stupid enough to get themselves killed for no reason? (he still can’t fathom how they not only defeated him but also somehow turned him to their side.)

where’s my viggo who struggles with the death of his brother and (quite possibly) the fall of his entire tribe and then some?? bro understands dragons but can’t get a grip on the whole emotional relationship that comes with having his own dragon (the skrill). he’s the stupidest genius you’ll ever meet and doesn’t know how to care for children no matter their age. especially the riders.

i just want more viggo redemption fics where he’s the biggest dumbass this side of the archipelago

i'm rewatching race to the edge and it is deeply amusing to me that the episode Triple Cross, one of the most iconic and definetly one of the best episodes of rtte, with the A plot of viggo and hiccup coming together to take on a common enemy and viggo proving how much he's changed by bonding with a dragon and giving up his life to let hiccup escape in a poignant and triumphant end to the arc of their relationship, has the B plot of. the twins trying to get a world record for their dragon by smashing apples and figuring out how to fly upside down. and also inventing the guinness thorston book of world records. if that doesn't sum up race to the edge i don't know what does.

A little sketch for you My attitude towards this franchise (especially the series) is the same as towards Game of Thrones. I love it madly, but the HtTYD age rating is lower — without any bed scenes or guts on the screentime (though it doesn't stop them from smoothing out the corners and making dirty jokes COUGH). So here are two dragons from the class of the smashers and both tamed by a lot of smart guys. Viggo's Skrill and Hiccup's Toothless stylized as Game of Thrones dragons

Batfam: Dragon Riders

This was just a silly little idea I had. It's mostly just giving the Batfam (sans Barbara Gordon and Duke Thomas) dragons from HTTYD. If you want, imagine this as a crossover, with the HTTYD films as the past of the DCU, but minus all the dragons hiding out in the Hidden World. Anyway, since I don't have a plot but dragons and partners, I'll just get into it.

Up first is Jason Todd, with his female Skrill, Surge.

Then comes Dick Grayson and his male Sand Wraith, Duststorm or "Dusty" for short.

Cassandra Cain and her female Stormcutter, Silencer.

Tim Drake and his female Death Song, Melody.

Damian Wayne and his male Deathgripper, Sirocco.

And finally, Bruce Wayne with his female Flightmare, Banshee.
