The Angry Playlist - Part 1
I've been listening to some recommendations of "songs to listen when you're angry". Thought I'd share my impressions of them with you.
Ps.: this is PERSONAL OPINION, I'm not a professional. Just sharing random thoughts that I, a filthy amateur about music, had while listening to some songs.
1. "People = Shit", by Slipknot
This is an edgy (derogatorry) song. Like, it sound almost childish in its fury, like it's hurling insults at everything and everywhere. Well, not surprising, given the title.
I also do not enjoy the excessive use of gutural vocals. I like them as an accent, but not through the whole song; kinda makes them lose their appeal to me.
But I do like the instrumental part on this one.
It feels like a really angry song, but the anger is unfocused; there's a lot of angry words and phrases, but no connection between them.
Maybe it doesn't resonate with me because I don't feel much of this nihilistic teen rage. Nor did I ever feel it much.
Song: 6/10. Not bad.
Rage level: 6/10. Edgy nihilistic teenager. You don't know real rage yet.
2. "Killing in the Name", by Rage Against the Machine
Now, this one I like. Now you're speaking my language: focused rage directed at a system.
Funny how it's bold and some people still don't get it?
I love this vibe of a "religious imaginary" around the police's white supremacy. I mean, "Those who die (...) the chosen whites".
And the title... "killing in the name of..." who? They can't tell 'cause they don't know or 'cause they're not allowed? Cool shit.
Also, "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me" is the closest the gringos have ever gotten to "Disparada", by Jair Rodrigues, which is god tier.
Song: 9/10
Rage level: 8.5/10
3. "So What", by Metallica
This was quite a fun song... until it turned to pedophilia and bestiality. I mean, it's cheeky, it has a nice guitar, sounds angry... and then it turns into something real close to a "funk proibidão" right there. Not cool.
Song: 4/10. Could be cool; you ruined it, though.
Rage level: 8/10. Cheeky, spiteful rage.
4. "Solway Firth", by Slipknot
I like how it starts all dark and then explodes in gutural vocals. Bothers me less than "People = Shit", but it's still too much gutural for me.
I like how it's also more focused in its rage. There's a sense of betrayal, something almost of a PTSD, that runs through it. I also like how the instrumental gives some pauses instead of going hard all the time.
Also, "And take great care to not take care of you" is stellar lyrics.
Song: 8/10
Rage level: 9/10.
5. "Nero Forte", by Slipknot
As you can see, I've been recommended a lot of Slipknot songs. Which makes sense for an angry playlist. Unfortunately, I'm quickly finding out that I do not vibe with them a lot.
This is chaotic teenage angst again. Less focused. I think I prefer songs with a build up, instead of the ones that go hard all the time.
But I do like the more "melodic" instrumentals in some parts.
Also, family rage, yeah, cool.
Song: 6/10
Rage level: 7/10.

SID for Metal Hammer, 1999
¡¡¡FULL interview here!!!
SID WILSON
Age: 22.
Marital status: I have a girlfriend.
Nickname?: Filth, or the epitome of...
Born and bred?: Born in Des Moines although my whole family is from England.
Instrument played?: Turntables.
Band previous to Slipknot?: I have a DJ crew called Soundproof Coalition, who are based out of Des Moines.
First record bought?: The first one I owned was the Miami Vice soundtrack which my parents bought for me.
First band seen live?: I was really young and my parents took me to see Sheena Easton.
Describe yourself in three words: Organic brain syndrome.
What does your mask represent?: To me it's like I'm killing myself on stage. I am constantly at war as the gas mask reminds people at war, so it's like I am constantly dying up there.
Was the visual image your idea?: Yeah, it kinda fell in my lap. I got into the band and was looking for a mask and the gas mask kinda found me. Since then I have been pretty interested in them and If I ever see one I buy it. Right now I have seven or eight of them.
Special Ingredient you bring to the band?: Youth, as I am the youngest member of the band which keeps it fresh.
What is your greatest fear?: Dying young. It is something I think about, as you can die from all kinds of things- I could break my neck at a show, catch a disease or the government could assassinate me.
What is your idea of hell?: I don't believe in it. If there is a hell, planet earth is it.
First job: Working at raves.
Have you ever experimented with auto eroticism?: Yeah, I guess I have. I've wore choke collars, as in the rave scene there have been a lot of experiences which have been pretty crazy.
Tell me your favorite sexual fantasy introducing Salvador Dalí (the late great surrealist painter), an orange, and a bicycle?: I would ride the bicycle for three hours to be completely exhausted, then me and my girlfriend would enter the painting with the melted clocks in it (The Persistence of Memory) and then at the point of orgasm melt like the clocks and eat the oranges for a reward.
Do you enjoy a good wank?: Yeah, every day. When we went on The Howard Stern Show I wanted in show him my cock and I was trying to keep it a decent hanging size, so I was jerking off, and by the time we were on it only lasted a minute so I didn't even get the chance to show it. I think he was actually quite scared of it.
Do you often wank in public?: It depends. When I go into my personality of number 0 the number takes over and I never know what he is going to do, but myself, not really.
What would be the concept for a Slipknot porno movie?: I probably wouldn't do much talking as when I am in my alter ego of 0 I don't talk much. There would be a lot of drooling, slobbering and grunting. There would be no need for dialect, just get down to it.
Hobbies outside the band?: I like to snowboard and sculpt with clay. I am also into cooking. My mom has been teaching me since I was three. My speciality is french crepes.
Fave horror movie?: Evil Dead 2 and Army Of Darkness.
Fave author?: Edgar Allen Poe is the only literature have ever finished reading.
Band you'd like to tour with?: It wouldn't go in with the genre of Skipknot, but me personally, it would be The Beastie Boys. At the point when I got into DJing, break dancing and hip hop The Beastie Boys were a big part of that. I have always listened to them.
Who do you think is the most heavy metal band of all time?: Slipknot.
Worst way to die?: Without my family. By myself.
If your house was burning down. What is the one thing you would run in and save?: If all my family was out, I would have to go and get the hair wrap my girlfriend gave me before we started dating. It is made out of her hair.
If you were the president of the USA for a day and could achieve one thing only. What would it be?: I would make it a free country and expose the government for what it is.
What is your dog called?: Mary Jane Wilson. She's part whippet and part dingo.
if you read all this follow me ¡HERE! I post media of Sid every 4 hours ♡

milfzatannaz/“Millie”: GO FUCK YOURSELF!!
What’s your deal, after all. I see that every 4,287,546 things you post one is about Siouxise and the Banshees and the rest are about the JohnZee shit. You’re not the one who fills your mouth to say that you have “the biggest and best blog getting high and posting about how you want Siouxsie Sioux to rail you”, that’s ironic. Apparently you spit words into the wind just like you want Siouxsie to spit on you. Worse than left wing politicians… Why don’t you do yourself a favor and listen to some real goth music like Skipknot, poser?

Listened to bleed by meshuggah, and this is the basic shit ppl have been hyping up? All the comments are shitting on metallica and skipknot for not being as heavy as this, are you guys dense or someth...metallica has structure and power. Extremely high technic and depth overall, slipknot is infinitely more creative than this shit.

Here's a challenge I hope you all like.
List ten songs you personally think fit any of the Four Horsemen, or even any other Darksiders characters if you wish. I'll start off with an example of my own. Now here's some rules for this to make it more challenging, and to ensure this remains fun/nobody gets hurt.
1. Only one song per band, but if a singer(or any band members) from a band you already used makes a cameo elsewhere you can use that song.
2. Add sufficient warnings for any nsfw songs you post. I sure as hell will. Post the asterick symbol(*) beside the songs the warning(s) exist(s) for.
3. The songs must fit the canon version of the characters, if a headcanon song of yours fits the canon version too by coincidence it still counts. But it cannot only fit a headcanon and not the canon version if that makes sense. Course I know people's opinions differ too so we'll see how this goes I guess.
4. Reblog when posting your lists so I know if you guys like the challenge pls(adding this now because I forgot to mention it...oops)
MASSIVE TRIGGER WARNING for anyone who may suffer from mental illness of any kind, or suffered from sexual trauma. Please bare this in mind HEAVILY before listening to any songs with * next to them.
Ten Songs For Death:
1. Scissors - Skipknot*
2. Serpentine - Disturbed*
3. Not Strong Enough ft Brent Smith - Apocalyptica
4. The Crow The Owl & The Dove - Nightwish
5. The Circle - Blackmore's Night
6. Bottom - Tool
7. The Old Ways - Lorenna McKennitt
8. Dead Inside - Nita Strauss ft David Draiman
9. Nobody Praying For Me - Seether
10. Serenity - Godsmack
