I got back from a trip and was looking through a sketchbook I had just finished and thought that this would be worth sharing with whoever sees it.

It’s (one of) my first attempts at a doing a proper sketch spread. Looking back now it kinda feels empty but at the same time I don’t feel like there’s enough space for me to add anything.

Anyways, Will Wood is genuinely one of my favorite artists. I love the experimental and wide variety of genres he makes, and his lyric crafting (or whatever the proper term is) is so fun and interesting to listen to.

In all honesty, I think this hyperfixation on his music is a result of my mom only letting my family listen to one genre for about my entire life—Christian music.

As I’ve gotten older and been forced to play music for my church, I’ve come to realize how bland and “copy-paste” most of the genre is. Some songs have the same damn chord progressions the entire song, and that gets to be so fucking boring when you have to sit there and play the same 4 chords for 2-3 minutes.

Idk, just take the art. I don’t want to rant about something and make people scared/upset or whatever.

This is part designing Goth and punk flavor civilian outfits for teen Zoe. I don't want just a repeat/slight redesign of her canon outfit. She'll probably have several different outfits because I like the idea of her enjoying putting together looks and a slight interest in fashion.

The other part is a couple of character interaction doodles. I don't care if it isn't canon; I like the idea of Frida and Zoe becoming friends because of mutual interest in metal or rock music or even a specific music group. Frida convinces Zoe that big, punk boots are awesome and that they'd upgrade her aesthetic.

The other character is my fan character Felix. My running idea is that he and Zoe date for awhile, but end up splitting because of conflicting interests. Felix becomes a hero and that's a dealbreaker for Zoe and Zoe decides she wants some time single to figure out herself and who she is. I'll expand on both in other sketch spreads (especially Zoe and Frida hanging out)!

With the past few drawings I've made of Zoe as she ages, I haven't changed her Black Cuervo costume too dramatically. I was originally trying to match what the show did with Manny and Frida respectively: their outfits/costumes remained similar as they aged with little or slight changes.

Since I already deviate dramatically from canon anyway, I decided to try a slight re-design of a hypothetical older Black Cuervo's costume. I'm not 100% on this, but my goal is to come up with several changes/tweaks Zoe might make to her costume over the years. For this one, I like to think Frida came up with the ideas to add a skirt and fangs on the jetpack.
