Surprisingly, this was the number one song on my Spotify. My theory is that, while I may tend to skip songs that I like, I just never really skipped this one, and for good reason. This year, I developed more things for Sergio's backstory related to his Russian crime syndicate. I don't doubt me listening to this a bunch may have helped with that. Considering how much GTA V inspired Sergio in the very beginning in 2013, perhaps credit is due to its predecessor.

I just realized that both this and Soviet Connection were in the same game, though I never played much of GTA IV for me to really make that connection. This takes me back to high school when the smartphone I had wasn't all that smart, and I was still using either TracFone minutes or had made the switch to Straight Talk, with very limited data.

Also because of this song, whenever I say "What do I know?" in a conversation, I hear oldgirl saying, "Flashing...lights, lights, lights, lights..."

I remember listening to the original version of this back in middle school, I think. I even made a Minecraft parody of it! As I got older, I came to a terrible realization: T.I.'s rapping is dreadfully mid. His songs are often carried by the production, this time done by David Banner. However, when I heard there was a remix, I listened to it, and T.I.'s lyrics are much better here. The addition of Mack 10, Trick Daddy, and Twista turn this from a good song to a great song, and it was wise to put Twista last; I'd hate to have to follow a verse like that.

At first, I was surprised it wasn't number one, but then I remembered that the version on Spotify was an edited version. Whole chunks of verses were taken out for some strange reason, even though what's left still has mentions of drugs and violence and whatnot. Shame, too, because there are many quotable lines from this song:

"Got so much cash, Bill Gates can kiss my ass..."

"I got that wizerk, dog, I got them birdies that don't chizurp, water, X pills, sticky green and that purple sizurp..."
