“Are you going to keep standing there?” Cody asks.

There isn’t really any place to sit in the small room. Cody has a single chair for her desk, and the only other spot to sit is her bed. Thankfully, the GAR private barracks are pratically broom closets, so when Rex sits down on Cody’s bed he’s close enough to lean over and make a swipe for Cody’s datapad.

“What are you doing?”

Cody moves her datapad out of Rex’s grasp, but overswings and knocks the careful mess of take out boxes to the floor.

“I’ll kill you,” Cody hisses, but it lacks any real heat and they both know it.

Rex pointedly looks down at the mess on the floor, before dragging his eyes back up to Cody. “You know I only found out you were planetside because Skywalker told me she was going to see Kenobi?”

tagged by @anxiousotters and as I spent much of my day writing here’s a bit from more wlw Codywan for @codywanfirstkissbingo 🥳🥳🥳 (prompt fill for “angry kiss,” the girls are fightinggggg)

“General,” she bit out, not turning around. Footsteps approached behind her, then the rustle of fabric.

“Cody,” the General said, and Cody shuddered at the sound of her own name. “I am not above ordering you to turn around and talk to me.”

“Osik,” Cody muttered, pinching the bridge of her nose. She turned slowly, reluctantly straightening her back and lacing her hands behind her, snapping into parade rest.

She stared straight ahead, unable to bring herself to look General Kenobi in the face. She did not have much success—the General was a good five inches taller than her, and stepped directly into her line of sight. Cody jerked her chin upwards, looking at the ceiling instead.

“Oh, is this how you’re going to be?” the General said, acid in her tone. “Cody. You won’t even look at me?”

“What can I help you with, General?” Cody said formally.

“Fuck, Cody, I—” the General said. Cody’s eyes snapped unwillingly to her—she could count on one hand the number of times she had heard her General curse.
