I've been making a lot of blankets for christmas gifts lately and my current favorite thing to do is work on the new blanket while under 3 or 4 of the other blankets until the in-progress is added to the stack

I'm just like lmao...some guy, so it's very very Very funny to me how "luxury good" a large crocheted blanket is bc in my mind I'm outsmarting Big Blanket™ by slapping chenille around until it's a big squishy floppy sheet of chenille. Calculated the price for a full/double size blanket I'm working on and the lowball came out to like $400 👽 thank god I'm the little washer woman in the village that knows how to weave or whatever bc I would never be able to afford buying smth like this ☠️

Anyway, the yarn is fun to squish while you work and this pattern is my current favorite to make:

Kind of wild how “maybe don’t buy plus size clothes from thrift stores if you’re just going to make them smaller or use them for a project and not wear them bc there’s not a ton of options for plus size shoppers” turned into “never buy anything from a thrift store if you’re not gonna wear it as is” bc the second point is obviously ridiculous considering how much clothing thrift stores have but if you realize it was originally about letting fat people have the few clothes options that actually fit us it makes more sense…lol. lmao even.

buying clothes when you're fat is absolutely miserable i wanted compression tights for my EDS and it was impossible to find an option below $150 and they only come in black or grey from sizes 3XL and up, meanwhile the standard sizes were $80 and came in like a dozen colours
