one or more hyper-competent arseholes called Thomas (who also frankly deserve better than what happens to them, but they are still arseholes, and they are all called Thomas)

depending on the year, there may also be the Duke of Norfolk in the middle of totally selling out one of his nieces

and finally Spanish ambassador Eustace Chapuys, being extremely snarky in all of his letters

On the upside, depending on the year there may be some absolutely banging music, but is it worth it? No.

i just finished watching six (through animatics) and oh my fucking god that musical IS SO GOOD

i learned so much abt them ?! especially katherine howard, poor girl! ofc she had to be the one to blame when in reality she was only 13-19 (approx) !! lord have MERCY 😞 anyway, i love anne of cleaves and anne boleyn sm, we love you besties 🫶

i dont even think the fandom is alive anymore (or accepts new fans but...) the musical was great and id totally reccomend! this is the playlist ive watched (linked below) and i HIGHLY reccomend watching my faves (the anne boleyn one and the jane seymour one)

From the costumes to the playful banter, everything was on point 👌

I've lost the number of times I went "DAYUM!" because they all slayed 🔥🔥

I dont know if anybody else figured this out, but it is SIX the Musical when the six wives are all singing the first song, they say history's about to be overthrowned. And then when they are talking in between, Parr says, "Or as we like to call it, ✨️HER-STORY✨️". In I Don't Need Your Love, Parr also says, " 'Cause in history, I'm fixed as one of six..." and just realized that they weren't just saying history, but mainly HIS-STORY.... as in HENRY STORY!!!!

*chef's kiss* This author does original fairy tales so well. Like her more recent novel, Nettle and Bone, it has recognizable fairytale elements while also not being too close to any particular one. If I had to say, this story has the bones of Bluebeard (except the wives aren't dead!), but it also has nightly trials like Vasilissa The Beautiful, but also has an adorable animal sidekick like... well, everything. It's got camaraderie between women, sorcery based on contracts, vanishing roads, horrific misuse of magic, and a 7-foot woman who lives in a clock. Good heavens, how could I ask for more?
