So Lucifer actually gives some info about how Gehenna is the country where devils are the loudest and laugh the most compared to other countries and how they have the least amount of insomniacs, yet ironically their own king suffers from insomnia the most.

Now, I really like Satan, but I never thought much of him besides that I think he is a hissing cat and a very cool motorcycle guy who likes to spank you and kick his followers and has a very interesting friendship with Mammon (that bromance alone deserve its own analysis). But with the context Lucifer gave us, I can see how self-sacrificial Satan is as a King and how his followers will do the same for him.

Devils in Gehenna can be destructive, as shown in the main story, Leraye's event with Sitri and Paimon, and Lucifer's Selfie Card prologue, but compared to devils in other countries, how they manage through war and their outlooks on it are very fascinating. They're cheerful and very assertive in battle, even running first to danger with enthusiasm:

And how easily excitable and easygoing they are with MC and being injured (even explain why with a big smile like dudes are talking about losing both of his legs as if he is commenting about the weather):

I didn't think much of it and took it at face value but now thinking about it further. How can most of them be like this? Being the country where devils are the rowdiest and destructive yet have a community so tight-knit that their violent tendencies never break the strict hierarchy (how they address the nobles and how they respect each other), maintain a very positive attitude despite being the country that is attacked by angels and suffers from angelification the most by far, and easily unified with a common goal. For me, it also took something else other than love to be able to maintain that attitude.

It has been too long since it made me forget why I liked Satan in the first place. In my personal opinion, as the king of wrath, Satan embodies a formidable and unyielding strength. His constant anger can be seen as a source of power, fueling his ability to protect and lead his people with an uncompromising approach. By personifying wrath, Satan takes on the collective anger of people and shoulders their emotions of anger, fear, and insecurity, like how he was when MC got angry, it fuels him further but it might also burden him like a drug. Yet, this allows his followers to weather through the stress of war, and as their leader channels and contains the destructive emotions that might otherwise disrupt their society being one of the reasons.

While Satan is perpetually angry, his followers only exhibit a controlled form of violent temper that is not taken seriously even by Sitri. This difference in emotional intensity is crucial. Satan’s role as the emotional absorber ensures that his citizens’ anger never reaches the destructive levels that could harm the community. Gehenna's devil's violent temper is a recipe for disaster but it is controlled, expressed through minor conflicts, brawls, and property damage, and serves as a controlled release of frustration. This behavior, although disruptive on the surface, is actually a stabilizing force, preventing deeper, more harmful conflicts by allowing for regular, minor (please don't be like them irl and seek professional help if you exhibit the same behaviors, these people are fictional demons so their standards are not the same in reality) venting of emotions.

The outcome of Satan's actions is a society where people are the least insomniac and laugh the most. This sadly contrasts with Satan's own issues, where he becomes the most insomniac devil who cannot close his eyes when asleep and is said by Lucifer to have long been a depressive guy, who is always hard on himself the most and he is the type to be glad that his restless wakefulness helps you have a restful night.

From what I think, Satan's insomnia can be seen as a metaphor for the relentless vigilance and constant anxiety that comes with his responsibility of being his country's leader amidst the biggest war Hell ever experienced and having his country be the one that gets attacked the most. This inner self-sacrifice is a testament to his commitment to his people’s happiness and stability, even at the cost of his own peace. Yet he always shows to be confident and strong, and because in a stressful situation, he always remains level-headed despite how he usually acts (ex: He is the one who stops Sitri and Leraye from attacking Lucifer in the Two-Star event). He is also the one person who is calm and gives out a clear order of what to do and can rally everyone's morale, as well as the immense power and authority to command respect from others and back up his claims.

But more than anything, what devils in Gehenna respect him for the most is how his love for his people speaks louder than words.

In the situation he is in, he can't be weak for any moment even when he secretly wants to. He can't break down because if he falls, what would become of his country, which probably is the question he might ask himself a lot. So he can't let himself be vulnerable even if others know how hurt he is inside.

To make this more relatable, I will be honest, I don't usually connect much with leader characters because I don't understand their struggles. But when I put father being the metaphor for a leader, it becomes a lot easier to see the picture a bit more. Satan is like a father (King) in this, being the pillar of the house (Gehenna), he puts his people's emotions and well-being before himself, he either protects them as best as he can or he will be the one to do the hardest thing and the dirty work that most would not willing to do. And that is another way he shows his love as well.

Personally, not only does he love them but he also respects them as well, he is rough and not gentle about it but he always acknowledges their efforts. (like a dad-)

But it is a mutual thing, as much as Satan loves them, his citizens also share the same feelings. They let Satan draw power from their blood, which indicates a deep level of devotion and willingness to sacrifice. Blood, often seen as a symbol of life and vitality, represents the most personal and significant offering one can give. It is also canon that Satan can only draw power from the blood of people who love him, the obvious being Sitri.

But if that doesn't convince you and you get angry at Satan for treating Sitri like an unwilling personal blood bag then let's look, buddy, this guy is a simp- He eats more food rich with iron so he doing fine.

Gehenna's devils also treat Satan's kicks as special treatment to be fought over suggesting a ritualistic or symbolic form of reverence. This is seen as a badge of honor or a sign of personal attention from their leader. It shows that even seemingly negative actions from Satan are perceived as valuable or desirable. They're masochists, even if harsh, it is still a form of validation or connection.

And whatever horror collection of plushies Satan rips in half that Leraye got going on with this:

With all of this, I can see why Gehenna is the most romantic country, they expressed their love very clearly due to the foundational elements of mutual sacrifice, emotional stability, cultural norms of validation, and a unified community with shared values. The intense emotional bonds and the willingness to endure hardships for the sake of others create an environment where romance can thrive. This setting can foster deep, meaningful relationships that are built on trust, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion, making Gehenna the most romantic in a unique way.

This is more of me yapping about Satan and Gehenna than anything so sorry if you expected it to be Lucifer, this is probably part 1 and part 2 would be the end of this short series.

You give him a medal, definitely not saying he took third place, unless you want to hang from the ceiling and watch other competitors being hunted down by unspeakable horrors. “You called me what? What a ridiculous idea.” But obviously he likes it and hopes that in addition to a medal, the winner will also receive a kiss. At least. 

One of the favorites from the very beginning. Deservedly, Eligos, one of the cutest devils, takes second place.

 “Ohh, only second place?” You almost can't stand his eyes of a kicked kitten, so you gently pat his head and stroke soft hairs. His mood immediately improves, and he catches your hand with a sweet, mischievous smile. "Come on, you have to reward me now." A whole day of cuddles, shopping, eating and your undivided attention awaits!

And, at last. Kneels down. Allow me to pay tribute to our lord and ruler, the one and only sitting on the throne. 

1st place - Andrealphus

You caught him off guard. He was playing with his phone, lying in bed, long hair untied and spread picturesquely on the sheets, T-shirt lifted over a chiseled stomach. You rarely saw this beautiful, lazy side of him, and almost forgot what you came for. “I have a surprise for you, my king.”  He turned to you. Not that he has to, because he couldn't see you anyway, and yet always tried to face you. “Me?” “Let me serve you, as you shall sit on your throne.” He raised an eyebrow in amusement and got up, but didn’t ask. Silky hair got tangled in the horns, so you parted it gently and placed on his back. Each time you scratched him a little harder. First between the shoulders, then you ran your fingers over the muscles that you couldn't see through the material, but felt under your palm.  "We had a little competition." You finally sat down on his lap so he could touch your face, feel your smile under his fingers. “Who among you, devil nobles and kings, is the greatest babygirl. It was a vote, several rounds, like a full-fledged cup. Hundreds of people took part!”  “Sounds like fun.” “And you won.” His facial expression didn't change for a bit.  “I what?” “You won! We voted and cheered and were with you every round. Congratulations!” You kissed him, but he needed another second to process what he heard. His eyes widened, and his fingers twitched on your face. He cupped your cheeks, stroking your lips and eyes with his thumbs, checking to see if you were joking. “How? You said it was hundreds of people. We have never met.” “But they know you in their own way. You're intelligent, kind and gentle… and you know what? Let's let all those who love you have their say. ” You started reading comments, hashtags, and all the happy nonsense you produced during this time. At first, he couldn't believe it, but you wouldn't lie to him. He hugged you tightly as you scrolled through Tumblr. You were having such a great time, and he felt the warmth spreading more and more inside him. So many people. So many kind words. He, who never had family nor friends, who was not used to closeness, always lonely, always depressed, listened to so many praises and admiration about himself.  He was grateful that you included him in the vote. Victory? He would never have thought of it. So many people were with him. So many people loved him. He never knew them, never would, but he wanted to say thanks, to touch and know their faces, to hug each and any of them. All the emotions bottled inside felt down with tears of joy.  “I would like to repay all of you somehow.” His voice became hoarse with emotions. Another kiss landed on his lips, as you brushed away long hair that had fallen onto his handsome face.  “Do not even think about it. It's our way of saying thank you for who you are. And that's all we want you to do for us. Just be, and be yourself.”

Sexual Prevalence in Hell?

So, this question may be a little strange considering this is clearly an 18+ game, but I was left wondering after the Minhyeok sneak peak. Clearly, devils know about sex and arousal. Ppyong refers to lust and arousal, after all. My main question is: What does sexuality mean to the denizens of Hell?

They say that MC needs energy from both devils and humans to live it Hell full time.

This energy is also referred to as "lust" (which in this case is the sexual context of lust).

Devils (at least Ppyong) seem not to have the same feelings around ejaculation as humans do. Since devils seems to produce milk (that's how it was translated at one point) from their horns when they are aroused... the question is if it serves a similar function to semen or if it is simply just another fluid to them (live blood or saliva or even like literal milk). Like, is it just a byproduct of arousal or does it serve a function of eroticism and/or reproduction? Are they simply okay with sex or do they not have the same implications with these fluids? It seems the Devils will be having sex to give MC all the "lust of devils" they need, so they clearly recognize sex as an act that creates arousal. That implies they see sex as just a normal part of life given how nonchalantly they treat it.

Now, the reason I am asking about how prevalent sex is in Hell is because of the comedy gag at the end of the sneak peak where the Devils don't know what a dildo is. Now, I'm not saying that Earth and Hell have to have perfect overlap, but it does raise the question of what Devil sex is like since the earliest known dildos are about 28,000 years old (note how that is much older than their good friend Solomon). It's interesting that none of them recognize what a dildo possibly is, especially give one of the areas of hell literally relies on lust of the multiple varieties, including sexual (Abaddon). The only way I can explain that little oversight is that:

1) Devils don't have a lot of contact with humans. This seems like it isn't the case given that they appear to have easy enough access to the human world and know they need to balance the energy of the realms when you visit one, as well as having an entire system for making contracts with humans. These are all traits that imply they have regular contact with humans (or, at least regular by devil standards).

2) Devils don't have sex toys and do everything the old fashioned way due to not having as many cultural taboos around it, therefore not having a need to have tools for self-pleasure as finding a partner is much easier. This is possible, especially given that the Adoring function seems to only have MC using their hands or mouth and no other tools... Except then you remember that Mammon is literally holding a vibrator in one of the main promotional images so Hell definitely has sex toys.

3) Language barrier. If you didn't notice, Minhyeok (and by proxy MC) are speaking Korean in the game. The angels and devils seem to speak some foreign language that we hear as Japanese, but is sort of implied to be a unique language altogether. The translation between these languages seems to be automatic, but the listener is still aware they are hearing a foreign language (see images below). This would imply that devils lack an equivalent word for dildo. Satan and Sitri never see the dildo, so it is possibly they know what a dildo is, but the word is simply not translating.

4) Even in Hell, sex has rules and stipulations that make dildos taboo enough not to have every devil know about them. I am striking this off the list near immediately since nothing seems to be forbidden in hell. However, the fact that there seems to be an entire club for the more risqué activities does imply hell has some kind of social norms around sexual activity, including when and where certain acts are allowed.

5) It was a gag and I am overthinking everything because I crave internal consistency from my games and this gag took up so much time that I can't stop thinking about the implications of three separate devils not knowing what a dildo is.

I mostly pose those speculations because they help to think about in what capacity devils experience sex. Is it a normal part of life like bathing is? Is is fun and pleasurable and accepted like alcohol? Is it meant to be done at certain times and in certain contexts? How is sexuality expressed in a place that both claims that nothing is forbidden but also seems to have entire establishments around vices?

h.c. nabatean aging | seiros's/rhea's timeline

i went totally insane and decided to try and calculate rhea's human and nabatean ages using some sort of aging system based on HC and known timeline of events... and let me just tell you that flayn really overcomplicated things when i was trying to make any sense of my own timeline but... i eventually got there. i suppose if we theoretically accept that when nabateans hibernate, aging slows... i've very roughly calculated rhea's age during key parts of her life using an approximation.

please don't check my math, i have issues with numbers .

i've had to set an aging rule for my math (again, im not a math person) to work. following tales of series elven aging logic, i've run with the idea of aging being much quicker in childhood and drastically slowed down once puberty sets on:

pre-puberty: 1 biological year = 20 human years post puberty onset: 1 biological year = approx. 130 human years

using these rules as a scale... i've roughly set rhea at about 2430 years old at the start of the game, or roughly 28 years old physically (which lines up with her placeholder data). for this r.p. blog, this would place her at 1250-ish years, or physically 20 years old, which isn't very far off from what i originally h.c. her at as seiros. nabatean lifespans would work out to be around 10,000 years long. of course, appearing 20 while being 1000+ years old... she can be picked up by a perceptive person as being far "older" than her appearance would give off. she carries herself as someone who has lived a lot of life. but in many ways... she's still young .

if you care to see the timeline i created, check under the cut. it extends from a hypothetical birth decade to the game's start, since 5 years is nothing for someone with a lifespan like hers.

also note that this timeline is not all inclusive because my initial intent was just to test whether the majority of events fit logically into the aging pattern. i'm missing a lot of major events and whatnot. there is also some h.c. too, so not every event listed is canon.

-1250 : rhea is created in zanado by sothis as a sky dragon (0 biologically)

-1200 : sothis, who had previously waged battle against humanity an unspecified amount of years before, finishes restoring the land and enters hibernation where she sleeps on and off for the next 450+ years (2 biologically)

-1000 : rhea begins to come of age as a nabatean and undergoes several rites, trials, and trainings under nabatean tradition (12 biologically)

-750 : zanado is attacked and blown up by nemesis + slithers and falls. the nabateans are genocided by nemesis and rhea retreats to seiros's underground bunker/chamber (14 biologically)

-250 : seiros (rhea) emerges from zanado as a "prophet" (18 biologically)

-41 : seiros is first recorded in enbarr and conducts healing miracles (19 biologically)

Here is your gift — or the prelude to it.” The creaseless, rectangular card addressed to Sothis is unencumbered by any envelope. Its cream-colored face has been penned with an imitation of Fodlan's native script written by foreign hand, letters unevenly spaced and slanted in odd places. “When I asked around, no one had heard of you. It was almost as though you didn't exist. In this age, there are still people that question whether a tree makes a sound if its fall isn't heard. Do you really exist if you are not known to the world? I believe so. My gift to you cannot be contained in a letter. Tonight, I implore you to look upon the endless expanse of the night sky and revel in being an infinitesimal part of the wider universe." Following the instructions will grant view of a staging of colorful explosions overhead that spell the name Sothis for all the monastery to see, immortalizing a memory once nearly lost to time. Sitri does not leave, but watches the display beside the ghost of the Goddess in silence.

“Oh. Hello.” Sothis hardly notices the card for a moment, startled once again by someone saying her name. She’s not sure if she’ll ever become fully accustomed to being acknowledged.

Peering down at the letter, (and silently thanking this ‘Lilian’ for holding it for her, many don’t tend to have the courtesy to do that), her expression shifts through many different emotions, the most prominent being different forms of confusion.

She had entirely forgotten that she was to get something as well as a part of this. She didn’t particularly bother with specifying what she would want to end up with when she signed up anyway, so that part was certainly the last thing on her mind. Truthfully, it could’ve been a rock for all she cared. She signed up more for the intent of getting something for someone else, not for whatever she would get in return. That wasn’t what mattered to her at all.

Even so, this gift met her only requirements perfectly. She didn’t have to touch anything, and it wasn’t something like food so it wouldn’t be a waste of resources. But beyond that, it was… thoughtful? She had believed gifts were to serve a practical purpose, something to help later on down the line, or in the moment should the case may be, but this…

She can only stare up at the colors above, announcing an existence that even she herself was beginning to doubt not so long ago. She can’t tear her gaze away, can’t blink even long after it stops, just staring at the night sky. Something equally beautiful in its own way. Perhaps that may also be part of the gift.

She feels weird.

She brings a hand up to her face, slightly tapping beneath her eyes. Why does it feel as if her eyes are… leaking, slightly? Is this… ‘crying’?

No. No, that wouldn’t make sense. ‘Crying’ is something humans do in response to sadness. She doesn’t know what she feels, but she certainly doesn’t think it can be described as that. But…

She pulls her hand back and stares at it for a moment, then back up at the sky where the gift once was. She’s silent for a long, long moment. She doesn’t even know how long. Ironic, that someone so intricately intertwined with the flow of time itself can so easily lose track of it.

She glances to the side, flinching and jumping back as she suddenly remembers Lilian’s presence. She turns her face away as quickly as possible, covering it with her hand. “Ah! Uhm. You… did not… um…” She already knows it’s too late, she probably saw. She only hopes this moment of weakness isn’t spread throughout the monastery. That would be embarrassing.

She clears her throat, still hiding her less-than-ideal state with her hand as she fights to make her voice sound normal. “…Should your paths cross with the sender of this gift, do give them thanks on my behalf. I…” She trails off. No, something like this deserves direct thanks. Not one delivered by someone else. “…No. Never mind that. I shall do so myself. Please, do tell me; where might I find them?”

Sitri was a devil. He couldn't lie to you directly, but he could still deceive. He could still manipulate you in another way, spin half-truths, and try slowly but surely to gain your trust to have you in his arms finally. He knows he'll have a lot of competition to win someone as precious as Solomon's daughter, But he feels confident studying in Hades. That is ruled under envy. He felt as though he had been training for this moment.

As the right-hand devil of a king so possessive as Satan, he has to work in the shadows. He does not have the luxury of being so public with his true desires. And how he thinks of everyone as savage dogs getting in the way. He must ensure that he should be your only choice in the end even if He needs to twist your mind to make you think lies.

However as a devil. The hardest thing he has to do is hold back every aching desire he has in him to not grab you hold you in his arms and drag you to the darkest depths of Gehenna's dungeon so no one, not even the king can find you. Scaring you away would be a death sentence or worse being pinned as a threat to not only your safety but the safety of hell itself.

So he bites his time patiently, waiting patiently, patiently! and patiently laying every card just right so he could snatch you up in the end. Occasionally, his mask does slip, something he could only do when he's giving you his "devil's energy" where you can write it off as some kind of kink. Or filling you up and hoping it takes. He knows very little on human anatomy but he does know that you would never want to leave if you knew you had a baby with a devil.

Hopefully by that time he'll have all his plans would be meticulously drawn out. And hopefully if all goes well after the war he will confess his true love to you and if you don't accept him you won't have a choice He will not leave you He will not let you leave him like last time.

Sometimes he will indulge in his desires sneaking into your room to listen to that soft low drum of that precious heart of yours. By that point he would be slipping more herbs in your tea to help you sleep deeper as he climbs into your bed to feel your body. Pressing his bare skin against yours he feels his cock hardening. my take on blyeth: she feels. she just doesn't show it. bringing emotions to the surface is just something that is incredibly hard for her to do. this may seem like she does not care at times, however that's not the case. it is just there are two souls bouncing inside of her, & the dormant one has somehow gained privy to her appearing mood.

I write and write and make comparisons between a swimsuit and themes like tolerance and freedom,

But in this fandom, some people draw more dubious comparisons, especially ones regarding a certain game - and I warned (who?) at the beginning of the FE16 trend that while it wanted to have a Jugdral flair, it obviously failed. You have a sprinkle of Jugdral in FE16, but it’s only a surface image, or even a mirage.

“CrEsT SyStEM”? Holy Blood? No, those comparisons at least were made in good faith and had some merits.

One of the worst comparisons was noted by several friends, a certain someone, wanting to push a certain ship involving a certain character, managed to write :

“Every route makes one villain from Genealogy of the Holy War the hero, Edelgard being Arvis, Dimitri being Eldigan, Claude being Travant and Rhea being Manfroy”

Who is Eldigan (Eldie)?

A man who is the carrier of Hezul’s holy blood, Hezul being the founder of Augstria, a sovereign state. Everyone loves Eldie, he is good-looking, strong, kind, chivalrous and has the magic blood that makes him able to use his magic sword.

Is he the King of Agustria? No.

The King is a man named Chagall, who has an ugly sprite, doesn’t have Hezul’s magic blood and cannot use the magic sword. He also killed his father, and is really jealous of Eldie.

However, Eldie’s line (House Nodion) has sworn to support the royal line of Augustria (Chagall’s), so even if everyone wants Eldie to ascend to the throne, he will never accept it. Even if Chagall pisses on him, or imprisons him because he felt like it, Eldie will not rebel against his King. Eldie is seen as a Camus, because he will fight and die for Chagall, and his country, when Sigurd is... more or less attacking Chagall (because Sigurd’s forces are occupying Augstria and Sigurd’s orders are to bring peace to the land, Chagall doesn’t want peace and wants to fight to retake his throne). If everything ends well, Eldie will promise Sigurd he will try to talk one last time his king, try to convince him to accept a ceasefire and peace with Granvalle - but Chagall is an ass and beheads Eldie.

Dimitri... isn’t like Eldigan, at all. First of all, Dimitri is supposed to be the crown Prince, instead of being a mere knight sworn to serve the royal family. Secondly, Dimitri doesn’t die because his liege beheads him - Edelgard will never be his liege - he dies either by defending his borders against someone who is bringing war to his lands and wants his head, or he dies because he pursues Edelgard in a three way battle in Gronder.

We do not know what Rufus is like to his nephew, but I am pretty sure he is no Chagall.

The only common points Eldie and Dimitri have is their blond hair, and sometimes, their manner of death. there is also something about bonds with their sisters but we’re not here for that

Who is Travant?

Travant is the King of the Thracian Kingdom, a proto Nohr-like place, where farming is difficult, and the people living there are starving and often turn to banditry or become mercenaries to be able to earn some money.

Thracia’s neighbour, the Manster District (Manster) could export food to Thracia... but they do not, because, well, the people in charge of the Manster District do not like Thracians a lot (and use slurs to talk about them, but Quan is a special character). So Thracians raid the border, with hopes to reunite the peninsula, with the dream that, one day, they will seize the arable lands in the North.

Travant has an infamous line, which more or less went like “I will unite the peninsula for the sake of my people, and if that process dooms me to hell then so be it”.

And to hell he will go, because by Jugdral standards, ambushing Quan and his family in a desert (horses cannot move in sand, another example of gameplay and story integration!) with horseslayers, is despicable, especially since he leaves no one alive, even, apparently, killing Quan’s young daughter Altena.

(Travant ranks pretty high in the douchebag ladder).

With time, Altena grows, unaware that Travant, who adopted her, isn’t her real Father, Quan was. Things happen, Altena discovers the truth, and Travant finally achieves his dream by making a suicidal charge against Seliph’s forces (he doesn’t even bring his magic lance to the fight!), with him dead, finally, the peninsula can be united under one leader.

Claude? Also has a wyvern. And comes from another land than our hero (but which one?). And... that’s all.

If Almyra raids every sunday, it is not because they are starving, but because they are doing it, per Cyril, for funsies. Claude pretends to be a schemer and underhanded, but he never does something on the scale of the Yied Ambush (the moment where Travant pulled out the horseslayers against Quan). Claude never takes a child hostage, and never orders his daughter to punish civilians.

If Claude wants to unite the two countries, it is not because he wants his people to finally leave their life as mercenaries and bandits behind, but because he wants people to understand each other.

Edit because I’m sleeping : Travant will die for his dream. Claude... always survive. Always. I am not saying he doesn’t believe in it, but he is not as desperate as Travant is.

Comparing Claude to Travant is like comparing... Virion to Iago. They are both male with long hair, and pretend to scheme. Bar that? Well... they both have hands...? I guess?

Who is Manfroy?

Manfroy is... both a mastermind and a plothole.

Manfroy was the one in the shadows engineering a war in Jugdral, not because he likes wars, nope, but because he wanted political instability to recreate the Loptyr Empire.

He will help a douchebag to conquer the world, and use him to sire Julius, the only person in Jugdral who can become a host for the dark dragon Loptyr. The last time Loptyr was there... well, apparently it wasn’t roses and sunshines, slavery was rampant and citizens were pitted against each other to make sure the strongest ones would become citizens of the Empire.

Why Manfroy does this? It depends on the sources, but it is heavily implied Manfroy is part of a sect (sect as in group of people practicing a religion, here the Loptyr religion/cult) persecuted by a lot of people in Jugdral - to the point where Agustrians were having witches hunts to chase them. Manfroy and his followers escaped the the Yied desert, touted to be an inhospitable land. His people had no where and no one to turn to, so they prayed to their God Loptyr (who doesn’t give 3 figs about them).

Manfroy is thus the Archbishop of the Loptyr Church. He also killed his son in law, for some reason, and planned to turn his granddaughter in a zombie. Manfroy also supports (and conducts?) the child hunts, basically the plot in the second part of FE4 and FE5 where the Granvalle Empire and the members of the Loptyr Church round up children, take them from their families (sometimes by killing said families) to send them to Granvalle, with the highly suggested goal of sacrificing them one way or another to Loptyr.

On the not-so bright side, Manfroy doesn’t kill Julia - when Loptyr/Julius expressly asking him to do so, because Julia is the only person, story-wise, able to kill him.

What a guy! 

Now, Rhea?

There are some comparisons to be made, unlike Claude and Dimitri, but again, it reinforces how they could be seen as foils.

Rhea? Yes, also engineers the birth of a vessel.

However, unlike Manfroy who “forced” Arvis and Deirdre to marry and have a baby, Byleth’s birth, born from the union of Jeralt and Sitri, was completely unexpected. There is no trace in canon of Rhea arranging Jeralt and Sitri’s meeting, and future wedding.

Rhea? Also wants her granddaughter to “die”?

Well, not this one, since Rhea thinks Billy is actually an amnesiac Sothis. Billy would just recover their memories.

Rhea? Doesn’t start a war to build her Sothis vessel. Hell, the DLC is about her previous experiment to resurrect her mother - it was a failure, but someone supposes she fails because she did not want to bleed dry the Four Apostles. Rhea wishes to resurrect a benevolent Goddess (when Manfroy knows Loptyr is... far from benevolent) but will not kill to do so.

Sitri? Asked her to save Billy, by offering her own life.

The most interesting foil though is... how Rhea and Manfroy both belong to a community that was persecuted by others, the people they are supposed to live with.

Manfroy? Went the “if the world hates me, then I will hate it and burn it down” route.

Rhea? Doesn’t want to kill humans, hell, she and her brother disagreed because she didn’t want to kill children of the people who wronged her! She opens a monastery and offers guidance to anyone who needs it, a shelter for the needy and tries her best to protect peace and the humans living under her care.

They could have followed the same path, but didn’t. Manfroy rounds children to kill them, Rhea offers a new home to children who lost theirs.

They can also be compared with their “welp” points, Rhea gave CF!Billy the means to destroy her, just like Manfroy “forgot” to kill Julia - and yet, again, it is different. Rhea trusted Billy and never wanted to use them as a tool, in the other routes, it is because she trusted Billy with “those means” that Billy is able to save the world. Manfroy? Berserks Julia, wishes to use her as a tool and suffers when she regains some agency and beats her brother. But even without Manfroy, Julia would have recovered the Book of Naga to end Loptyr.

Rhea and Manfroy are definitely not parallels, but foils.

And the best for the end...

Who is Arvis?

Well... to summarise Arvis in a few words...

it’s impossible.

So, Arvis is the descendant of one Jugdral’s God-Crusader, Fjalar. Arvis is very proud of his heritage, but he also bears Loptyr blood, through his Mother. And yet, since the Loptry blood exists thanks to Saint Maira - the brother of the Loptry Host of that time, Emperor Galle, who rebelled and helped the Crusaders - he is also very proud of this heritage and his two brands.

Arvis’s familial history is a mess, his father was a womanizer and his mother abandoned him (which might have fueled his Freudian complex?). When his Father died, he exiled all of his bastard siblings, bar Azelle (his bastard half-brother, sired to his mother’s favorite maid). Arvis apparently wasn’t interested in women before he met Deirdre and fell in love with her...

But he had time to sire a bastard (on his best friend and confidante).

Arvis wants to build a world free of prejudice and oppression, and wants to build it by... associating with Manfroy, who blackmails him about his Loptyr blood (if Arvis is proud of his Loptry blood, sadly the Agustrian witch hunts are still a thing, and it will not be well seen in Granvalle’s nobility); however, he made it clear, to Manfroy himself, that he will never allow another Loptry Empire to be reborn. Arvis thus uses hiw fellow Dukes Reptor and Langobalt to set up a coup against Prince Kurth (the Prince of Granvalle) to kill him. Arvis grows close to Kurth’s father, Azmur and more or lesses takes care of everything in Granvalle, since Kurth has no heir left.

And, by chance, Deirdre, Kurth’s bastard daughter, thus rightful Princess of Granvalle, appears at his door. She bears the mark of Naga (the special blood of the Crusader Heim), so they marry, and if they have a son, their son will rule over Granvalle, Arvis acts as a regent until then.

(women can’t rule shit in Jugdral)

Then what? His plan is set into motion, all Granvalle Dukes die, he and Sigurd (plus his pals) are the only ones left, Sigurd dies after being lured to a welcoming party, and Arvis becomes the last man standing able to rule Granvalle, who became, through his plans and treacheries through the 1st gen, an Empire.

(and then his son becomes a Loptyr host, vaporises his mom and makes his sister disappear, wrestles power from him and he is reduced to a sad state (oldvis). He makes a last stand against Seliph, after delivering him Sigurd’s magic sword, and dies.)

Okay.

So, now, Edel.

Arvis managed to become the ruling... person in Granvalle by eliminating all of his rivals, and securing a nice marriage. Edel becomes Emperor... because Ionius gave her his crown, as her father.

So they do not rise to power the same way.

Edel never talks about her brands, but Arvis is proud to bear them and proud of his ancestors. Judging by how Edel speaks of Wilhelm I as a traitor who sold humanity to creatures, I am not sure she is proud to bear his blood.

Also, while Edelgard is extremely prejudiced against Nabateans, Arvis wishes to create a world... free of prejudice (his actions though...). He does not mind Manfroy preaching his stuff, when Edelgard will not allow anyone to follow the Seiros faith (friends put it better, but in several routes, the people who were followers of the Church of Seiros are missing in Adrestia...).

While both Edel and Arvis think they are making “sacrifices” for the greater good, as pointed out earlier, this greater good is different. They both ally with a death cult, but Arvis is naive enough to think Manfroy will not backstab him - he even wishes for him to preach his nonsense freely. Edelgard has been hell bent since day 1 on getting rid of Thales and friends.

By the time Arvis learns of the child hunts and Julius’s nonsense... he wants to stop it. He is however powerless to do so (or so we think! Apparently he and Ishtar managed to hide every children captured in a castle!) but, at least, he tried to do something.

Crest Beasts... are still used, no matter the path, and even after Edelgard became Emperor.

Now, if Manfroy had to capture children and round them up for execution to make sure Arvis would become Emperor, would Arvis have supported him? I... don’t think so. If children were captured during Arvis’s conquest of the world and it was a “necessary evil”, would Arvis have accepted it? We don’t know. Prideful as he is, I don’t think he would have agreed.

(which is all kinds of wrong, the man can start wars and backstab friends, allies and turn his own brother to ashes, but hunting children is too much? Meh. And yet, Manfroy mentions something about his ways and his pride being an obstacle to the realisation of his dream).

Arvis is... a complicated character. A douchebag through and through, who tries to redeem himself at the end, but ultimately fails. He is rewarded for his actions in the 1st gen by the 2nd gen, where Julius becomes Loptyr and destroys his Empire. He had it coming? Yes. Is it painful to watch? Yes.

Edelgard... does not face any retribution for her actions.

Yes, she can also kill her (step) brother. But either she didn’t remember it, or only cries after it, and ultimately puts the blame on him - so it is not a sacrifice ?

People doubt her words? Well, it doesn’t matter, Linhardt, Yuri and Lysithea are still alive after their... interrogations. Reptor doubted Arvis’s words? Aida was sent as back-up (and... backstabbed him).

Ultimately, Arvis loses Deirdre (whose ghost chills with Sigurd’s), Julia and Julius, whom he loved dearly. Edel loses... Billy, and some randoms.

So, in a way, Edel feels like a discount Arvis, because she misses his ascension to power and his downfall. Arvis doesn’t mow down enemies on the front lines like she is doing, Arvis maneuvers to ensure victory.

Both fight for ideals, but Arvis seems to believe in them when I cannot believe a world for “humanity” involves continuous making of Crest Beasts.

Both betray the main character, but Edelgard is hit with the uwu hammer, thus cannot kill Billy - Thales does it in the non CF-routes.

So... short story, long story, Eldie is not Dimitri, Claude is not Travant, Rhea is a foil to Manfroy and Edelgard is a discount Arvis.

Also, I don’t know what kind of weed the person who wrote this take had, but labeling Eldie as one of FE4′s villain is as dumb as labeling FE7 Karla a villain because she appears as a red unit you have to fight.

Murmur - Causes souls of the dead to appear and answer any questions the petitioner may ask. Also teaches philosophy.

Ose - Transforms the petitioner into any form he desires. Will bring delusions and insanity to others if asked, and the person affected will not be aware that he has been changed.

Paimon - Confers upon the magician the power to influence and control those he wishes to subjugate. Will produce familiars to serve the possessor, and can bring any honor desired upon one.

Purson - Tells past and future, reads the thoughts of others and conveys the message to the possessor.

Raum -  Creates love and reconciles enemies. Can also demolish a reputation, destroy property, and will steal money to bring to the possessor.

Ronove - Teaches languages, and humbles an enemy who does not show partiality toward the petitioner.

Sabnock - Can cause wounds not to heal, arguments to inflame, and turn a small dispute into a full-scale battle. He controls military camps and protects soldiers.

Samiginia - Gives account of the dead souls that died in sin, and teaches all liberal sciences.

Seere - Controls time to suit himself and the wishes of the sorcerer who calls upon him. Can cause things to happen instantly magically.

Shax - Can cause one to become deaf, dumb, or blind. Will steal money or possessions, and can lead the way to almost any hidden things or stolen goods. Can create a familiar to assist the owner.

Sitri - The Prince of love and lust. Will cause any man to love a woman, or any woman to desire a man. Compels women to display themselves in the nude to the one who calls him. 

Valefor - In charge of occult medicine, curing all ills magically. Can make a man skilled with his hands and sharp with his brains. Can change men into animals at will.

Vepar - Controls the sea. Can cause storms, death, and disaster.

Vine - The only spirit which will tell a magician the identity of other sorcerers and witches. Knows ail secrets and can destroy the enemy or defend the magician against the attacks of others.

Zagan - Can change liquids—water into wine, wine into blood. He can bring to one's mind the humor and wit in all happenings.

Glad someone said it because I was so confused reading this post like "when did that ever happen???" for a lot of these.

Im actually surprised some facts didn't make it here. For example (no particular order and at different iceberg depths):

Satan has told MC that leaving Hell before breaking all of Solomon's pacts would violate their deal, which would kill Minhyeok since MC basically failed to pay for his resurrection.

MC is an orphan. Their parents died when they were young and they were essentially raised alongside Minhyeok.

The reason Gabriel's scythe cannot kill Minhyeok is because it can kill whatever it touches, but only once. Since Minhyeok has already died to it, he cannot die to it again.

Ppyong can transform into a much bigger, much scarier devil. Satan can seemingly shift into the same form.

Hades is a kingdom that welcomes all orphans.

Devils grow back their horns in a ten year cycle (I assume this is devil years, not human years).

The devils of Hades where nooses partly as a promise to fight for their loved ones and partly because they plan to kill themselves if Leviathan dies.

Sitri trained in Hades which is why he fights with a coffin (technically an iron maiden) rather than a gun.

Every (currently revealed) devil in Paradise Lost is apparently indebted to Lucifer in some way.

Tartaros is apparently the most technologically advanced kingdom.

The Unholyc have been mentioned by name in one of the chats, confirming the two games are connected.

Gusion is likely one of the older devils, given we see he served as a tutor to a younger Satan and Bell.

Mammon was not healthy as a child because his power expanded faster than his physical body.

Angelfication is caused by the seeds from the fruit of knowledge, not the actual fruit.

Apparently, you need wings to stay in (at least part of) Heaven. Lucifer tore his off so he would fall.

Both angels and devils eat each other.

There were at least six Seraphim at some point (Raphael, Gabriel, Michael, Lucifer, the one Gabriel killed, and the angel Bell ate was also one I believe)

One of the angel classes is translated as Vulture, when it should be Virtue. This is the only class seemingly mistranslated.

Andrealphus feels gratitude toward Bell for saving him the night his brother died.

(This next one involves a little interpretation) Devils feel pleasure in their horns and secrete a white liquid from their horn when stimulated. This liquid is not semen as the liquid is often called milk. What this liquid actually is... biology of devils isn't that clear.

Apparently, greater devils (like the kings and nobles) can't fly, but some lesser devils (like Ppyong) can.

April Fool's Day in Hell is when strange phenomenon happen. In order to curb the randomness of the day, Zagan sticks talismans on them to cause a more predictable effect. If you tear the talisman, you will get a random effect.

On Halloween, a mortal without a contract can visit Hell for one day (Earth time) if they get approval from a majority of the kings (or someone forges a few signatures well enough).

Glasyalabolas is the tallest devil in Hell (assuming the fact about him being the only devil taller than Mammon stays consistent).

Ppyong is stated to be the most handsome member of the red lump family and has a fan club.

And facts revealed after the initial post:

Leraye can see everything, including through time.

Gabriel wants to personally kill Satan and keeps making it harder on himself due to pride.

Michael's deadly eye beam cannot go through Leviathan’s coffin.

Raphael gets the hebbie jebbies around Bell because the devil keeps trying to eat him.

Michelleel can move his eyes in two separate directions at the same time.

There are... way, way more of these if you go through every event. I actually got carried away there... I am so tired. Lol

Whb iceberg.

We start from curiosities, data that we can realize at first sight and descend to the murky ones. I clarify that I will also attach non-canon theories.

• In hell, a hundred years have passed since Solomon disappeared, while, on earth, since 931 BC.

• Not only Solomon, but also God and Lilith.

• Satan has a barcode on his arm, and sleep with his eyes open.

• Death does not exist in Paradise Lost, because of Gamigin.

• Beel left Abyssos since Solomon's disappearance.

• Orias will never stop consuming souls. Youth is never eternal, and by obtaining Levi's soul, it would only stop it for a while.

• Satan has confirmed that he has lost his home.

• Angels can also be humanized.

• Ark Academy and whb are connected.

• Solomon also had to drink human semen to stay in hell.

• Demons are infertile. Except for kings, because they have enough power not to use Lilith.

• All six deadly sins are needed to defeat Lucifer.

• Demons and angels can change shape. It influence their emotions.

• Bael tries to be a copy of Beel. He must follow the shape-shifting, from hair dyeing to limb mutilation, because he made a deal.

• Minhyeok is no longer human. Due to Mc's deal with Satan, nothing can kill him while it is in effect.

(Theory)

• Gamigin and Serenade will never see each other again. Since they reside in different realities.

• Beel wants to eat Mc.

• Morax's skill. Absorbs wounds, even if they are fatal.

• Beel has eaten angels.

• Solomon can possess the bodies where his soul resides.

• In hell, crimes of all kinds can be committed, without being punished. This also applies in heaven.

• Bael's comic. He almost died for impersonating Beel. Still can't explain what happened.

• Solomon has all the filias. Even the most questionable ones.

• The real Gamigin committed suicide.

• Ronove is going to take the fingers from Mc's corpse.

• Jjok was abandoned in the forest to die.

• Buer, Morax and Marbas have died hundreds of times.

• Satan has anger problems that can kill Mc.

• Mammon and Valefor could kill Mc by accident if they apply the wrong force.

• Angelification is so painful that it breaks a demon's mind.

• Mc has a high probability of dying if ignores where may or not be in Paradise Lost. This implies that Lucifer can kill anyone with just a voice command.

• Demons were the first to experiment with angels.

• The massacres of the angels. This includes the demonic, angelic race and the near extinction of dragons.

• Andre's past. (He carried his twin's head for days.)

• The archangels will never get the punishment they deserve.

• Leviathan and Orias' constant abuse on the farm.

It took me a day to gather information in my head, but that's it! I appreciate knowing that the shape-shifting is different, between angels, and Beel's camp.

Edit: Yeah, as soon as I realize my man is a walking red flag, it's confirmed that Levi baby never tries to have a forceful response from Mc, or tries to get her to ask him first.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes released on June 24th, and so TOA will be implementing a no spoilers policy until further notice. All mentions of story content from the game should be tagged with #ThreeHopesSpoilers and kept in the #spoilers channel of our Discord server.

For brand new characters introduced in Three Hopes, there is a 2 week cooldown (until midnight EST on July 8th) before they can be reserved in TOA. This does not include characters who existed in Three Houses previously but were not expanded on (e.g. Monica, Holst, Count Bergliez). All characters from Three Hopes will also be classified as characters from Fódlan and not Warriors unless it’s made explicit that they come from other worlds. When reservations open, we will accept them on a first-come first-served basis and anyone wishing to pick up an additional muse for their roster will need to make sure that they have enough consistent activity to warrant it. We would hate to turn you down for that!

Due to a change in schedule, our Arena event is still ongoing! Silver round will end on July 3rd at noon EST and Gold round will end on July 7th at noon EST, after which we will post a closer and award you all with your skill points.
