Want to make this website a better place? Spend a bit of time reporting these scammers.
They don't need to be punished, though they're almost certainly bots, not people, but they do need to be taken off the site for the safety of people.
I would just report and move on but tumblr is REALLY insistent about showing them to me so I'll give that purpose.
People are desperate for work, making them likely to click on these no doubt harmful links, and while not too many, the number of likes and reblogs are concerning.
Oh, and if any of y'all happen to be real people posting non nefarious links, as if lmao, maybe pay for an ad slot, or post in a job seeking area, not spam, which in itself is against guidelines, sketchy ass links.
The descriptions and meme posts might make them look more real, but its just ripping them from other people's pages, and if you look at the spacing of the spam and memes, it's a very consistent pattern and the memes don't follow a theme, it is just to build out the page and not have every single post be their bullshit.
It's the same writing. Tumblr is aware I report and block pages that post like that so clearly it wants me to do something with it, so. Here we are. Community service ig.
These have been progressively pissing me off more and more as my feed gets flooded with them if that wasn't obvious lol.

I love you Safety Wizard.
(Inspired by @keroascrazy)
#safety wizard#wizard#Tumblr wants me to use the wizardposting tag so badly and I'm tempted. It's a good tag.#Shout out to stackedbirds for sending me the safety wizard post. Beloved mutual and beloved supplier of good wizard posts.#I will make it an open secret that I love me some good goofy wizards.#Safety Wizard has a special pizzazz that just gets the gears turning.#I like to imagine Safety Wizard began their studies as a traffic wizard. Then took some courses in roadside hazard magic.#This sparked an interest in safety magic and resulted in an eventual change of major - but the outfit stayed true to their roots.#All that said and done; The original costume is really good and I hope OP keeps up the good wizarding work.#Remember that distracted driving is extremely dangerous. A Smarter Site: Maximizing Safety and Productivity with Video Analytics in Construction
Video analytics is the process of extracting useful information from video data. This process has evolved in recent years thanks to artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, allowing algorithms to analyze live feeds and generate alerts automatically. Analyzing video data in real time consists of three main functions — detection, classification and tracking. Detection identifies objects of interest, such as people and vehicles, within a video frame and classifies them based on predefined criteria. Tracking functionality automatically follows the identified objects. These functions facilitate analytics, providing valuable, actionable insights into everyday processes for improved decision-making.

I've said it before and by god I will say it again
self censorship is doing exactly what the fascists want. do not asterisk yourself or use euphemisms (e.g. motherf*cker, unalive, etc) because you believe that you'll get slapped on the wrist by whatever platform you're on
if said platform DOES remove or otherwise penalize you for using words like fuck, kill, suicide, rape, etc, this is not a platform you want to be on. don't put power in the fascist's hands in the name of accumulating likes, upvotes, and shares
#that said this is always especially galling to see on the sites that DON'T forbid any of those terms#what the hell are you people even doing?!#I've always felt strongly about this but after the last three days#come on y'all you don't have to literally serve the power to them on a silver fucking platter#never mind the way this brand of censorship interferes with people who blacklist these terms for safety reasons#it's just bad all around!

I'm certain I've seen this said somewhere else already and I cannot for the life of me track it down but Dream's favourite colour being purple and Nightmare's being yellow
Everybody assumes Dream's is yellow because, well, he's dressed in it head to toe and his magic is yellow and his eyelights are yellow. It's just a bright happy colour, it must be his favourite! Only Blue and Ink know it's not, Ink because he takes note of how Dream favours purple any time he gets to pick something or joins in on an art project and Blue because he just asked.
Everybody assumes Nightmare doesn't have a favourite colour, that if you asked he'd say he was above that sort of thing or tell you something edgy like black because it's the colour of his soul. And it's kind of true, if you asked he would never admit to liking a colour, especially not one so cheery and bright. But the boys have definitely noted how he has paintings of sunrises in his offices and sunflowers planted outside.
#UTDR#UTMV#Dream Sans#Nightmare Sans#Big day for Dream posting lol#I'm losing my mind trying to remember where I saw this post but tumblr search says I'm crazy so maybe it was a different site#Anyway. brothers!!#They like the other's colour because it was safety to them as kids#When Nightmare lies in bed and stares at the yellow picture on the wall he feels safe for a moment#When Dream rolls over and bunches up the purple blanket in his bed he feels calm again#And when I lie awake until 3am thinking of these guys on a work night I'm being so normal!!!#Also I love to add that the boys could - if they really theorised about it - possibly put together that he likes yellow because of Dream#Blue and Ink don't make the connection at all because Nightmare is goop-coloured to them#They just think Dream likes purple for reasons

I live in LA. I was born and raised here. This city is one that I'm so, so very proud of. For so many reasons. We are such an incredible and diverse city, with all walks of life sharing a life here. It breaks my heart when people look at how devastating these fires are without an ounce of understanding that while one fire affected a wealthy neighborhood, right across the street will be the working poor, suffering the same crisis, who were born and raised here too. And my heart feels so full with the incredible amount of community effort poured in BY Angelenos. BY people from California outside of the city. BY people who have never been to CA let alone LA. Your kindness and generosity is what makes this community as strong as it is.
I'm sharing as many resources as I can as they come on my IG. It's a little too late for some of the dated events (like Pasadena W&P having a bottled clean water drive) but YMCA, Food Banks, Community Centers are still accepting donations and offering aid. If you've been affected or want to help, please look into those. Hotels are doing comp'd stays for those who have been unhoused by the fires.
If you're in an area that's affected by the ash (which will be all of LA county, and it's being blown down to Irvine/Orange with the strong winds), please buy/build an air purifier. There's videos on how to build one with 4 Filters (20x20x2) and a box fan that shouldn't be more than $70. Cheaper if you already have a box fan. These will be stronger than some of the ones available to buy. It will be so helpful for your health. These are homes being burnt down, historic buildings, there is a lot of toxins in the air. Don't raw dog it that's insane, wear a mask if you go out. For the areas close to the fires but not in an evac zone - Elmer's Glue on your windows. You need to seal it. Use a sponge and do several layers. It'll come off with like, a gift card or some plastic edge later.
Please stay safe, even when the fires are successfully put out, it will have long lasting effects.
#LA fires#the last paragraph here has some tips for air quality safety#I love my city and I wish everyone everything they need to rebuild#Share/reblog if you have links to any gofundmes for unhoused people or any community efforts#check my ig i will share more consistent on stories since that's a more active site for updated community efforts than here (LRN.DVS)

hot take but like why are we as a society still using lead in manufacturing processes in 2024...
anyway tldr of this is that you are not being exposed to lead unless the circular piece on the bottom of the cup is damaged. so, owning a cup like this will likely not result in lead exposure. this is similar to the fact that in older housing where lead paint has been painted over in subsequent decades, and that paint is in good condition, then it is not a risk. lead based paint only becomes an issue when it is deteriorating (chipping, cracking, peeling, chalking, etc) or being turned into dust during renovation activites. so yeah, in a similar way--you aren't going to get lead poisoning unless the steel compontent on this water bottles comes off.
but also this article says that these lead pellets that are used in the cups are an "industry standard" and i'm like: why? WHY is it industry standard in 2024? at least with lead pipes and lead based paint, we're just dealing with issues from prior decades. but this is current so there is a conscious decision to still use lead in products. also, i don't know enough about this subject (bottle manufacturing) to know why they prefer to use lead for this step, or where in the world they manufacture the cups, but my other concern is that even though the general public will likely not be exposed if it's covered, there are still workers who have to handle it during production.
anyway, i just find that i am constantly learning about more places that lead gets found and it's just. sigh. i know lead has many appealing properties which is why it is constantly found everywhere in everything but at this point it's incredibly clear that no benefits outweigh its risks....
#anyway. assimilating this into brain so that the next time i do public outreach i can answer this question lmao#it pays (quite literally for me) to learn as many of these sources as possible#so now i also get to tell parents they should be careful about their steel tumbler bottles getting damaged...#havent done enough research yet to determine if this is All brands or just stanley & the ones mentioned in the consumer product safety site#but it seems to be a common component of steel insulated bottles#will have to do more research later
