A half-assed whiteboard imitation of Frederick Sandys’ Perdita (1866), done in a few minutes in Expo marker on 2/14/2023
#my drawing#visual art#2023#pre-raphaelite#frederick sandys#shakespeare#the winter's tale#perdita#artists on tumblr#shakespearean heroines#i did this on the same board i've done my other whiteboard drawings that i've posted#idk if i've mentioned this. but it's in the math tutoring center where my sister works lol#i haven't been there in two months. i don't take any math classes anymore so i'm really just chillin in there. sometimes i socialize#sometimes i do my own studying. that's how i started these expo marker drawings. is that i was looking at paintings for inspiration for my#figure drawing final. and id do a sketch in my sketchbook and then copy it from my sketchbook onto the board. and id leave em there#obviously nothing about that is against the rules even if that's not what that room is *for* ... im allowed to just kick back#i always wondered what the other ppl who work in there thought of my whiteboard drawings. bc id leave em up. and sometimes they wouldnt be#erased for like a week or two. hell. the last one i posted (the love potion by evelyn de morgan) was my least impressive imo#but it was only erased like a week ago. it stayed up for like 2 months. kaily told one of her coworkers he could erase it and he was like#'its been there since last year... and out of respect for that i will not be the one to do it.'#lol like they're nice but they're not sacred#but anyway i went at a different time of day and stayed in there for several hours just reading and drawing while other ppl did math#i met three other ppl who worked there that i'd never met before. and they were all like 'oh are you kailys sister who does the drawings?'#i guess some of them really like them lol. it touched my heart#one guy in his 40s also saw i was reading a book on john donne & was pretty interested in that combined w my choice of the winter's tale#i guess he's a bit of an early-modern english lit buff himself. he's a christian. he said he liked george herbert.#he said smth to another student like 'yeah you can do math in here. or you can. draw on the board. or read books about#sixteenth century poets and theologians. whatever you want'#i didnt know anyone there would actually be impressed w anything i do. since it is not stem-related at all.#i guess i bring that old school humanities swag to the math center hahahaha

Thinking about the revived souls within the context of this blog.
People like Anastasiya and Diederick who were brought back out of sheer parental love, their parents committing crimes against the gods and/or humanity to do the impossible.
Or like Perdita and Hiltrud for whom death was just a speed bump for such strong souls who were just too strongly tied to this earth.
Gilen, Bodil, Jeanne and Tina who were essentially brought back to try and keep a fragile peace; to try and placate a vengeful mother who kept on being pushed to the brink.
Iryna, who's revival was a reward for service, an exception to what was supposed to be an iron-tight rule.
or the Original reborn soul, Luna, who remains unaware of her 'true' existence and past as the patron of souls and identity and in a sense, life itself; who was given a second chance to right another spirits wrong.
just. thinking about the people here who have been on the other side of the fog but returned to the mortal realm all the same.

completely forgot I had these Sith Perdita sketches from years ago. I had a part 2 planned out for no great revelation where it would be revealed that the Sith driving all of the events of part 1 was Perdita, sister of the long dead Viola. I never got around to writing it and these drawings fell through the cracks of my hard drive.

A.S.A. Octonauts Headcanons:
Pt. 3 – Peso:
[ This entry is not historically accurate to the areas mentioned. This is a rewritten/vamped fan version of lower Latin America in order to fit the narrative that I have created for this world. I have however tried to keep it regionally accurate to respect Latin America itself. ]
Peso Pedro Gentoo Perez was born in Ushuaia, the capital of Tierra del Fuego in Argentina.
He is the third born, with two older siblings and one younger brother. Pogo (Older Brother) and Piñata (Older Sister, lol I'm not judging I just wanna know how we got here), with Pinto being the youngest of the siblings.
Peso doesn’t have very many memories of his father (mostly trauma related) but he does know that when he was young his father was a factory operator. His father was in charge of overseeing not only the machinery but also the factory floor. Peso isn’t quite sure what kind of factory it was but it was good money and got his family through some very tough years.
His father unfortunately passed due to an accident at the factory involving a fire and several gas leaks.
He had gotten trapped underneath a set of cross beams when the ceiling collapsed and didn’t make it out before the entire building combusted.
His father was a kind man with a strong heart, and even in the circumstances he was in he did his very best to be a good person and take care of his crew.
The memory trauma I’m referring to is called Dissociative Amnesia or Traumatic Bereavement. When a traumatic experience (however powerful it is) happens (death, grief, abuse, war, or natural disasters), in order to protect itself the brain forces itself to forget.
Piñata also experiences memory lapses too but not on the level Peso does. Pogo is the only one who seems to remember enough, but he tends to shut away mentions of his father.
His mother Pricilla also worked. She was one of many nurses who oversaw penguin laborers, and although she never got a degree or went to school she was very well versed in the ways of medicine. This is where Peso learned his love of helping people.
She became a widow months before she laid Pinto's egg. After his father died several members of their family moved in to help take care of them, and they've lived there ever since. (Auntie Papita, Cousin Petina, Great Uncle Pepe, and Grandma Perdita)
Precilla would later remarry a king and very quiet sheep dog names Eriko (Mucuchies aka Venezuelan Sheepdog, born/raised in Venezuela but later move to Chile where they met.)
Peso has a large family.
During his childhood there were several epidemics that took out a large portion of the penguin/animal populace, so he’s very happy to have been able to keep his.
His family consists of several different species of penguins as well as multiple career paths, currently he and his two older siblings are the only ones to have had the opportunity to go to school, as well as their cousin Petina.
Of course Peso has very fond memories of growing up, especially with that family, but that’s not to say it was an easy childhood.
Even when Peso was young the community he lived in struggled, not only because of the epidemics but the working environments as well. They were known to be harsh, non-accommodating to the local populations (not just penguins), and overall low paying.
But back then work was work, no matter the pay. As long as you had a job, your family survived.
In those years even in some parts now, the lower areas of South America were plagued with factories and war bound organizations including the military.
Clear skies were few and far between as the air was constantly being pumped with smog, not only from the machines that were used but from the burning of blubber that kept them fueled.
When he was little Peso would go with his mother and the other nurses (some doctors would accompany every now and then, but hospitals were usually very busy) to visit the outer colonies. Sometimes even leaving for weeks at a time depending on how far they had to travel, or how affected the area was with sickness.
This of course, as I mentioned earlier, was how Peso learned to love medicinal practices. He would often claim that he would be just like his mama when he grew up, that he would do anything to help someone in need. And really . . . all he needed was a start.
Peso was roughly thirteen when the Animal Salvation Association (The A.S.A.) began to make efforts to aid communities like his. Sending peace treaties and resolving conflicts through pacifism. Because of these efforts his community began to change and kids like him were now able to go to school and receive education.
It was only when Peso learned about the “Thermal Adaptor Armor™ or T.A. Armor™ ” that he was able to realize his dream of becoming a doctor.
T.A. Armor is a body suit (Created by Lwazii Ntuli) with the ability to regulate internal body temperatures in countered climates. With this suit, warm/cold blooded creatures will receive proper fluctuating temperatures programmed to keep their bodies at the proper condition in order for them to survive.
Peso worked hard to learn and adapt to this new style of teaching. Spending years of his young life applying himself to his studies as well as any medical knowledge he could find. At seventeen he applied for his first internship in a schooling program created by Professor Theodore A. Inkling dutifully named “The Future Ahead.”
With his hard work he graduated early, and it was only when he applied for the Harbor Grove Institute a very sought after university within the United Kingdoms that he earned the attention of Professor Inkling himself, who just so happened to be the headmaster at the time.
Peso made the bravest move to travel all the way to the UK, and with the money he was able to earn working several jobs through the A.S.A.’s new programs, he was able to afford not only the suit itself but the tuition as well.
During his second term Professor Inkling sent him a scholarship that would carry him through the next two years.
He of course took the opportunity with great excitement, and finally Peso was given the advantage and he worked hard to keep it.
Peso was just a week from graduation when Professor Inkling offered him a spot as a Medical Officer for the Octonauts, and he’s been there ever since.
It wasn’t until Peso joined the Octonauts that he was able to really use his skills. Most of his experience came from helping his mother (now retired) in the field, while school only taught him the book stuff.
Note: The first season of the show really highlights Peso’s learning process. He’s naturally caring but because of his lack in field training he’s very hesitant to do things unless it is an extreme medical situation. He holds himself back, but through the caring nature of his team you really get to see Peso shine and find confidence in himself.
Fun Facts:
Fav. Gup obviously the Gup-E it's literally an ambulance.
Fav. Fish/Ocean Creature . . . probably the Snot Sea Cucumber, I mean let’s be honest here, we see Peso’s true form whenever he makes “s-not” jokes. Although a close second would probably be the Humuhumunukunukuapwa’a.
Peso comes from a very musical inclined family, he of course plays the xylophone and maracas (although I think he would also be ✨ magical✨ at the guitar, hopefully they make guitars Peso size because otherwise I might die from laughter) while the rest of his family varies in other instruments including singing/dancing.
Peso slept with a nightlight the first year of college, after that he felt comfortable enough where he didn’t have to use it. It’s only when he joined the Octonauts that it manages to slip into his belongings. 💙😭💔
(Peso could cure cancer if he wanted to but then he’d be out of the job . . . you know it’s true)
I’ve said this before . . . so here’s an excerpt:
I would love to be at one of their family functions
Just imagine someone’s Quinceanera!
Or even dinner at Grandma’s
Yum 🤤
(Yes I realize Grandma Perdita lives with them but STILL)
Every Sunday the crew gets to make video calls to their loved ones to check in and Peso makes sure to call his family at a certain time on the dot. If he doesn’t, his mother and Auntie Papita have been known to frantically call the Octopod thinking something is wrong.
It doesn’t help when there are actual emergencies but Peso and the crew can’t help but appreciate the concern.
Peso is an advocate for good health. (duh lol)
Everyone gets a monthly check up on the octopod (some more than others *cough, cough* Kwazii).
He is constantly making sure that everyone is getting the rest they need every night as well as keeping a constant eye on the Vegimals’ meal plans.
He also cares a TON about mental health.
That was one of the major practices he looked into before joining. I feel like he’s the type to research until he’s literally run out of every book/search engine in his possession.
I think a huge part of that research would have something to do with documentaries. Not so much psychology itself but actual examples from first hand accounts.
Ex: Astronauts, Ocean Explorers/Scientists, Team Dynamics within research groups, etc., etc.
He wants his team to be healthy in all aspects, so in a way I think Peso (Dashi may fall into this category too ngl) would become the group “therapist”, aka the shoulder to lean on when things got rough.
He actually does this very well and I know that the team would benefit from someone being the listening ear. Especially Barnacles and Kwazii.
Peso would be an amazing cook, and to be completely honest with you I think the only reason the Vegimals know how to cook is because of him.
Like I’m sure the others can cook to a certain extent like Dashi, Tweak, and Professor Inkling. Although Inkling is more of a baker as well as Barnacles, but Dashi and Tweak have at least some family recipes from when they were growing up.
I don’t trust anyone else. *cough, cough* Shellington and Kwazii (aka the only ones left) . . . I mean it’s not for lack of trying *sweats in memory of a pirate related foods*
Lastly I’d like to say that I am seriously impressed with Captain Barnacles in this series. He has helped Peso so much in becoming the truest version of himself. Having him step in instead of others (like Kwazii) and allowing him the chance to make decisions without his help.
I think it also goes to show that even in those moments, Barnacles is always there. Not just because he’s protective, but because he knows Peso can do it, and he’s really only there in case Peso needs a reassuring paw even when he’s far away.
A great example is the Vampire Squid episode.
Barnacles gives Peso the opportunity to test his abilities in a dark and albeit very scary place. He and Dashi are constantly monitoring Peso’s movements to make sure he’s okay but they don’t do anything until he has the chance to reach out.
When Peso shows that he needs help the captain allows Kwazii to go first. He knows Kwazii is capable of deterring any true dangers, knowing that he’ll make sure Peso is safe and has control of the situation.
And yes I do realize that Kwazii crashed the Gup-B, but I mean it wasn’t actually his fault . . . for once. (He just gets excited when he sees his friends, so he tends to shout and scare every fish in a ten mile radius away)
Captain Barnacles only comes after Kwazii has crashed, and he wants to make sure that they’re alright. But when Peso shows that he wants to step up and go at the rest of the mission alone Barnacles lets him. Leaving him with a reassurance that if he needs anything they’ll be there waiting for him.
Just the amount of faith that he has for Peso is truly touching. He is so proud of Peso and so supportive.
(Sorry that’s the end of my rant. I just needed to add some Barnacles appreciation to this post. MEOMI and BBC really gave us the perfect trio, I’d be lost without my boys.)
The Perez Family:
Mateo (Father) / Precilla (Mother) / Eriko (Step-Father) / Pogo (Older Brother) / Piñata (Older Sister) / Peso / Pinto (Younger Brother) / Auntie Papita / Petina (Cousin, Papita’s Daughter) / Great Uncle Pepe (Perdita’s Brother) / Grandma Perdita (Precilla’s Mother) / Rocko (Cousin) / Uncle Robert (Rocko’s Father) / Auntie Rachel (Rocko’s Mother) / Ooju (Cousin) / Uncle Oscar (Ooju’s Father) / Auntie Olivia (Ooju’s Mother)
–
(Not me sleeping in till 3, forgetting to work on this because I was so preoccupied with drawing Y/N & Fae, pausing the video I was watching halfway through only to panic at the time and rush this . . . well I wouldn't say it was rushed. I started at what? 7:30?? And it literally just hit midnight?? Anyways happy sleeping, I'm gonna hate myself when I have to get up at 9 for work.
Hope ya'll enjoyed the Peso content! I've had this backstory in mind for a while and now I finally get to share it. I think Barnacles' second headcanon is going to be a half post as in, that one is going to be more about his adult life and I may end up posting two headcanons that day. We'll see.)
Kwazii / Captain Barnacles ( 1 / 2 ) / Dashi / Tweak / Shellington / Inkling
[ This is a Octonauts AU, in no way is this canon to the OG storyline. ]

Is there a time in which you plan to share the plot/ending of stories that have been shelved, like Wayfaring Daughter? I finished my second reread of the chapters published and I am soooo interested to know what happens next and what is the endgame for those well-developed characters!!!
Or is that something you want to keep close to you? I imagine long, multi-chapter original stories are so difficult to finish, it is insane you already have one completely finished and one nearly done! Props to you!!
Keep up the great work!!! 💗
Answering these both at once if that's ok!!
I've come to a sad conclusion that Wayfaring Daughter will never be completed. It's a hard pill to swallow, but I bit off more than I could chew with this story. The world circumstances at the time in which I was working on it intimidated me, and I made the worst decision an author could do--I let fear and self-doubt creep in, and inspiration get away from me. So I'll tell you what I had planned for Wayfaring Daughter.
Here is what I had planned:
Rosannah gets pregnant while in the attic and is forcefully married to Robert, while Jeremiah still prowls around. Leland threatens them into a threesome because he knows that Rosannah is still wanted by the FBI.
Meanwhile, it also turns out that it wasn't Robert who was fucking his mom Perdita. It was her brother Harland. Rosannah had the two rooms in the back wing switched. The argument that led to Josiah's death was that Robert was Harland's son, and not Josiah's, as he had the recessive pale hair of the Beauforts instead of Leland, who was a brunette and Josiah's legitimate son–and that's why Josiah hung himself in the coat rack room.
This was revealed to Robert and Rosannah during a scene with ranting, dementia-riddled Ezra in his bed, who had walked in on his brother and sister fucking each other.
Knowing that if Leland–the only legitimate son–would inherit Bethlehem Hall that it would fall into ruin, Rosannah smothered Ezra, as Robert was unable to do it. Connected to that, it was also gradually revealed that as a child, Rosannah had purposefully slit the threads that sewed the rattlesnakes' mouths shut so they couldn't bite during church services. Resulting in that the next time her Pentecostal father had a snake-wielding service, the snake got its mouth loose and bit him fatally.
Rosannah finds a diary in a nook, about a house slave girl named Philomena, who was the unwilling paramour of her half-brother Clement. She is the many-greats grandmother of Noah Broughton, who had inherited all the land in Savannah from the Beauforts and is why Letitia had hated the Broughtons so much. Clement had gotten Philomena pregnant, who hated Clement and was sickened by his abuse because she regarded him as a brother.
Philomena fell in love with a field slave called John, who is the many-greats grandfather of Arletha. This was the crux of Noah and Arletha's love, the descendants of two star-crossed lovers who could never be together.
This ties into the basement plot. Uriah was a serial killer and rapist of the slave women of Bethlehem Hall, as well as Maudelynn at a party when she was a young girl, as she had retreated into PTSD when she was asked about him. As the Union forces approached Bethlehem Hall, the fathers and brothers of the women who'd been murdered and raped by Uriah rose up, stormed Bethlehem Hall, caught him in the wine cellar and burned him alive. That's where the dark scorch mark comes from, and the spirit in the basement is him, trapped there forever. While the slaves are freed, Philomena is already pregnant and doesn't dare approach John, feeling unworthy of him as she is already pregnant. They part without ever seeing each other again. This is where it was implied that the Broughtons got their fortune, from Clement willing his land to Philomena and her son.
Liza Ann, Linney Belle's mother, arrives at Bethlehem Hall to take her daughter back at one point. While Rosannah liked her and she was completely apologetic and looking forward to connecting with her daughter, Rosannah was wary and angry that she would dare take Linney Belle away from her, and got Robert and Leland to strangle her to death and bury her in a grave out in the Bethlehem Hall lands.
When Linney woke up the next morning and asked what happened to Liza Ann, Rosannah tells her that her mother abandoned her again, and hugs her.
While investigating Liza Ann's death, Jeremiah finally makes his way back to Bethlehem Hall and confronts Rosannah, Leland and Robert.
From there, there were a lot of endings that I had in mind.
1. Rosannah was executed by hanging, but her spirit still haunts Bethlehem Hall. Linney Belle, an impoverished old woman, gave tours of her dilapidated old home Bethlehem Hall, and after one of the tour groups left, she walked into an empty room and saw Rosannah in her familiar dress turning to meet her, and she died on the floor.
2. Rosannah holds the men at gunpoint, kills Jeremiah, and restrains her husband Robert and Leland with rope. She flees into the night, but even after Linney's entire worldview of her is shattered, she still runs after her, begging to come along with her. Rosannah kisses her and says when she is old enough, they will be reunited. On Linney's 18th birthday, she receives a postcard of an American state and a PO Box. She travels there, and the PO box contains another postcard of another state. On and on it goes until Linney crosses the border to Mexico, riding donkeys across the Darien Gap, traveling hundreds of miles until the final postcard is simply an address. She walks into the Colombian forest until she comes across a gate, and a pale-haired little girl (Robert and Rosannah's daughter) greets her and tells her she knows who she is. Linney follows her up the winding road to a house, and in the distance she sees a figure with curly black hair, and Linney lets go of her suitcase to burst on the ground to scatter clothes all over, and she runs.
3. The 3rd ending is the worst one. The same series of events happen with Rosannah killing Jeremiah and running from Bethlehem Hall, but this time she accepts Linney coming along with her. They leap on a train going out west, then it segues into a flashback of how Rosannah's first baby died. It's from the point of view of Jack Semple, and he spies through a sliver of door Rosannah pushing her daughter under the water and drowning her with a blank look in her eyes.
After the funeral of their baby, they trudge back to their shack, and Jack hesitantly asks if she really did it. Rosannah seems inhuman in that moment, and tells him he saw nothing and was imagining things.
And then he went to the liquor cabinet and swigged from a bottle of whiskey to forget his memory, although he had never done so before. Implying that he had started drinking because of Rosannah's manipulation and to forget what he had seen, and that what we've seen from Rosannah's point of view had been totally false, and that perhaps she had been the real villain the whole time--manipulative enough to get Leland and Robert to kill Liza Ann, manipulative enough to kill her father, and brutal enough to kill her husband.
Then the scene cuts to Rosannah and Linney on the train, Rosannah pregnant and Linney resting her head against her belly as Rosannah caresses Linney's hair.
The last scene is Rosannah, not pregnant and no longer with Linney, coming across a rural Mexican village. She smiles, says she's from out of town, and asks if she can take a teaching job. After all, she loves children.

so i made a quiz a minute back and there was a question about my guinea pigs and a lot of people. followed up on that and wanted to know more lmao. AND if you've been here for even .5 seconds you are aware that i. love talking about my pets so let's get into it
i. Perdita Sue
name: -- perdita for 101 Dalmations (since she's black and white) -- sue for Sue Hendrickson (a world renowned paleontologist)
fun fact: as stated by the quiz she fucking. loves her water bottle. when she was a baby we were worried she had a blockage in her throat because she kept slamming it back against the wall of the hutch REALLY LOUDLY and her sister didn't do that. so we took her to the vet. nothings wrong. maybe it was just a thing when she was a baby no. no she just really fucking loves her water bottle and likes making it really loud
worst experience: she cut her paw open on a piece of hay when she was about a year and a half old and was bleeding SO FUCKING MUCH i almost missed a class final to stay home with her. she was fine lol
best experience: she likes to shake hands. i have a photo of this somewhere. if you put your hand down in the hutch she'll run over and put both her paws in your palm so you can "shake" them it's the funniest fucking thing
ii. Mei Rosalind
name: -- mei for my fiancee's middle name lmao (lenora-mei) -- rosalind for Rosalind Franklin (biochemist who discovered the structure of dna)
fun fact: again as in the quiz, she likes sunbeams. a whole fuckin' lot. like, too much. it was about noon and i walked into the room they're in and she was on her back. lil paws in the air. and i thought she was Fucking Dead but no. she was just sunbathing
worst experience: she once sneezed in my mouth and i thought i was gonna die
best experience: when i was studying for my organic chem final she slept on my desk the whole time and just generally kept me from Flipping The Desk and giving up lmao
iii. Meg Helen
name: -- meg for meg jay (clinical psychologist on adult development) -- helen for. helen keller. bc she's blind
fun fact: the only guinea pig we got from a pet store, who we weren't actually going to get. but she was curled up in the corner of a too small cage and was obviously miserable, so we ended up biting the bullet and adopting her. took her to the vet, vet told us she is The Most Blind Animal she has ever had the pleasure of meeting. take that as you will
worst experience: we got her when she was just a little over a week old and she had to be quarantined from the others. we ended up having to switch off and sit with her at night because she'd cry the whole time and she has the saddest fucking wheek
best experience: she has the croakiest voice of all time. we're pretty sure it's the same genetic inbreeding problems that made her blind, but it doesn't hurt her and it sounds Hilarious. when she finally got out of her quarantine hutch and to her real one (which is 45 feet squared lmao) she didn't stop popcorning and squeaking for fifteen minutes. i cried my fiancee cried i took a video and sent it to my parents and they cried it was a day
iv. Piper Florence
name: -- piper for the pied piper of war because she's the leader and the others follow after her like she's the. the pied piper -- florence for florence nightingale because again if you've been here for more than .5 seconds you know that i am a. healthcare bitch
fun fact: once jumped out of the hutch and then just stood in the middle of the room because she didn't know where to go. is Best Friends with meg and shows her where everything is in the hutch when we have to change it/replace objects. she does not like sue and ignores her. just doesn't like her there's nothing to be done
worst experience: we thought she had ovarian cancer about a year ago because she was lethargic/sick/swollen etc for a long period of time. tracking her poop what she ate all of that etc etc. turns out that she had a cyst which was still a fucking nightmare, but hey at least it wasn't cancer
best experience: when my fiancée got really sick a few years back piper would just sit on her chest and purr. it was cute and needed and she's fuckin BEEN there man she's basically our dog
anyways that's it. congratulations if you got through it all lmao. i also have four cats (i am. not good at fostering) and a dog so maybe i'll make a post about them idk. ok bye
#rie talks#actually have a post kinda like this in my drafts that's my fiancees experiences watching band of brothers because she is So Fucking Funny#anyways nothing else to tag this?#guinea pigs#i guess#ok bye lol

Playchoices MCs - Part 10
Previous | Next
artist notes under the cut
Aaliyah Perkins (UT) | Y'know my first playthrough I kinda hated the fancy cowboy outfits, but they grew on me so here's Aaliyah in an outfit she would never actually wear to work on the ranch. She was peak Horsegirl™️growing up and not much has changed.
Iolanda Julivert (TPS) | I wasn't actually sure if the princess in TPS counted as an MC, but hell, she has a love interest and you spend half the story as her so I'm counting it. She gives a lot of Leo energy. They would definitely party together if they weren't so separated by age.
Yasmin Delaney (TPS) | The historian to her sister's party princess. She would obviously be the Liam to Iolanda's Leo. I'd like to think she went on to get a PhD in history after the events of TPS, because hey, who says you can't be a princess and a doctor?
Lysander (TCH) | We're gonna call the back half of this list The Rise of the Enbies. Starting with Lysander. I love a character who chooses to be kind especially when it's hard, so they had my heart from the start. And I made the Midsummer Night's Dream reference before TCH did in Book 1.
Zola Saunders (IM) | Goes on my list of characters who are 100% done 100% of the time. She was born not giving a fuck, she died not giving a fuck, and now she's gonna not give a fuck as a vampire.
Kira Stone (MAH) | I hate that they have a default name. Yeah they made them go by a middle name, but you try coming up with a name that goes with Valentine, Stone, and jives with the fact that they're sister is named Perdita. I wanted to do a Shakespeare reference, but I couldn't make it work. Anyway, Kira definitely goes on to be a private investigator because they couldn't see themselves as anything else.

Miss Martian and Beast Boy's Dark Periods in Young Justice
I just realized last night that there's another thing that both Invasion and Phantoms have in common, both Miss Martian and Beast Boy were going through a dark period during those times.
In Season 2: Invasion, Miss Martian was the absolute worst version of herself when she began abusing her psychic powers. She left her victims in catatonic states, ruined her relationship with Superboy by attempting to erase his memories and outright refused to admit she was wrong, all the while on the rebound with Lagoon Boy.
In Season 4: Phantoms, Beast Boy was really struggling with his mental health when all of his past losses of loved ones finally took it's toll on him. He was acting like a jerk, pushing everyone away, broke up with Perdita, became severely depressed and started taking an excessive amount of sleeping pills.
The main reason on why I brought this is up is because another similarity between the siblings... neither of them had a clue about the other's problems! Since becoming blood-siblings near the end of Season 1, M'gann and Garfield became very close and their newfound bond was quickly established. However, no matter how close they are, not even these super siblings can see when the other is not acting their usual selves.
In Season 2, although Garfield was in the dark about M'gann's abuse of power like the rest of the Team, he actually witnessed her power abuse on a few occasions! Despite what she had done, Garfield continued to remain blissfully unaware of his sister's actions... even on the day of her confrontation with Aqualad!
From start to finish, Garfield couldn't see or understand the sudden shift in his sister since in that episode, M'gann had finally realized the error of her ways or the fact she was becoming her own worst enemy. What's even worse, Garfield congratulated his sister for taking out Aqualad and shattering his mind!!!
In Season 4, M'gann had started to see that Garfield's behavior was growing oddly erratic, but didn't show too much worry or concern, assuming he was uneasy about being apart from the Outsiders for so long and simply needed a distraction from his worries.
M'gann didn't realize the deeper struggles her brother was truly facing, but when she was finally made aware of Beast Boy's troubles, she immediately tried to get through to him and offer help.
However, one thing both these sibling situations have in commom is the one and only person who realized something was wrong was none other than Superboy!
He was the first person to realize M'gann and Garfield weren't their normal selves or in their right state of minds and immediately expressed his concerns to the two most important people in his life! And in the end, he played a big part in helping M'gann and Garfield confront their demons and issues, leading to a happy ending.
And more importantly, a well deserved happy ending for my favourite Young Justice trio.

Gorgeous Jane Asher portrayed by Clive Arrowsmith and her hair done by Leslie Canvenish. October 30th, 1966🌺🌺🌺
The observer weekend review💐
“My face and I🌹
Georgina Howell starts a new series by talking to Jane Asher🍁
At twenty Jane Asher has no illusions about being a star and no obsessions about her appearance. She has appeared in films, plays and television programmes since she was five, and must have one of the most copied young faces there is, yet she's entirely unselfconscious🥀
I imagined her waiflike and melancholy, but in real life she is robust, tallish and cheerful. She didn't mind when I asked her if her amazing red hair was for real. "Oh, yes, you've only to see my brother and sister." She has the perfect pale skin that sometimes goes with red hair, and freckles you can see from the stalls. She washes her hair herself and goes to Leslie at the Grosvenor House Vidal Sassoon once a month to have it trimmed and conditioned. She does nothing special with her hands. "I mean to put handcream on them when l've been washing things, then I forget"🍃
She has just finished in "The Winter's Tale" and next month starts at the Theatre Royal in Bristol as Juliet. Her stage make-up for Perdita took 20 minutes, "Although l've had to do it in five if l've been late to the theatre." She used Leichner's Peach and Peach Special combined as foundation, and the darker nine, a reddish-brown, for hollowing the check-bones and doubling as rouge; brown foundation under the chin; white greasepaint liner above and below the eyes, and high on the cheek bones; Max Factor's dark brown eyeliner rimming the eyes, and their soft dark brown pencil to hollow the socket. She found Leichner's brown powder too dark for Perdita, and mixed it with talcum powder.”🌵

okay yeah i just cried at the ending all over again but man, Murder at Homecoming truly is THAT bitch. god...scooby doo gang but heavily intertwined with the nuances of being queer and a poc. the way grief is such a heavy thread throughout the entire narrative, the way Perdita's fate (as well as the two options regarding this: dead or simply lost to you) is foreshadowed in her very name and the lack of closure to her disappearance speaks to not only the nuances of Valentine's two possible arcs (letting go or holding on) but informs their motivations during their current case. the way all three LIs are deeply nuanced and complicated characters. the incredibly fun if slightly dissonant sequence where ur being chased by a little sister trying to brain you. impeccable book 10/10.
#god donovan esp is SUCH a good character my fucking boyyyyyy#god maybe unpopular camp but i LOVE that perditas entire thing goes unsolved and i think its an unfair criticism of the book#to complain that the mystery wasnt solved. because her disappearance was never PROMISED to be solved#her death is important for the thematic relevance it holds to valentine and the larger conversation about how we try and process grief#and search for answers to senseless violence and seek closure in answers#but perditas death was never narratively promised to be solved#we are allowed some insights into what may have gotten her killed but the fact of the matter is that the LACK of closure to her death is a#thematic cornerstone#god i fucking cried when valentine cried at her grave and told her they were so sorry for trying to move on goddddddd#playchoices#murder at homecoming#tunes titters

Hi there, I have a couple questions for you. If Dottie and Dipstick, from the hugely underrated 102 Dalmatians were humans, first meeting go and later raising all their kids? In Patch’s London Adventure, what would be different if Lucky had been left behind instead of Patch and the former got to meet Thunderbolt? And could you do fanart of Pongo and Perdita meeting for your Spotts AU?
Alright! Sorry for the wait but work was super busy!
I'm having a bit of trouble reading the first question, but I think your asking about Dipstick meeting his wife and how their first meeting went! In my Au it wouldn't be any different if they were human or dog, but I actually went over Dipstick the First's (Big Dipper's) family tree! :)
I'll give a supplementary here, but I'll link to the more detailed past post! First and foremost I changed Dottie's name to Speckles. This is because Dipstick has a sister named Dot in my au. (Dot and Dottie are used ALOT in 101 Dalmatian lore, go figure XD. Even in 101 Dalmatian Street, as Dot is a short form for Dorothy!)
Speckles and Dipstick met when he was doing some construction work for a neighbour of Speckle's family out in the country around London. She kept heading over to watch the rather handsome dalmatian work and seeing if she could talk to him! They did form a connection and kept in touch once the work ended, eventually marrying and having three children!
If you wanna know more, check out this old post!
OK! Question number two! In Patch’s London Adventure, what would be different if Lucky had been left behind instead of Patch and the former got to meet Thunderbolt?
In my Au Patch was one of the eldest children and Lucky one oft he youngest. Patch was a push over though and hero-worshipped Thunderbolt, he would trust him 100 percent. He laso knew every episode of the Thunderbolt show and how it worked. Lucky, one the other paw, is more bold and slightly arrogant. He'd be suspicious of Thunderbolt's intentions and while he likes radio/tv, he's more for animated shows than live action ones. He'd b a lot less useful to Thunderbolt in the long run.
As for art of Pongo and Perdita meeting, I maybe able to, but things are just really busy right now!
Take care! Thanks for the questions!

So I'm in the process of writing a Hermione-centric fanfiction (at least i think it'll be Hermione-centric) where her parents hate- well, not hate, but think it's unscientific and should be eradicated- magic. Hermione takes her younger sister and runs, finding out about magic by way of a huge secret-ish sorority that is both magical and muggle. The sorority was set up by Alexia Black in 1838, extended to France thanks to Celene Noir around 1904, extended to Italy thanks to Belladonna Zabini in 1940.
Anyway, Hermione comes to Hogwarts a whole lot more educated, with a cause to fight for.
Did I mention she's Heir to two very well known and feared Houses while still being a Muggleborn?
Featuring Muggleborn fashionista Coco Chanel, Perdita Granger and her future girlfriend, Elena Krum, Bellatrix Lestrange and Ginny Weasley, Lily Evans-Potter's magical portrait, Salazar Slytherin/Godric Gryffindor, diary entries, spies, badass women...
Who would be interested?
