The Crawford Family Album: Volume XXV

When the kids were younger, the youngest Matthew was often the odd one out - his older twin siblings having their own particular bond - but now that they're growing up, they're all starting to appreciate family much more, and are becoming a tight-knit little unit. (All the kids have turned out to be Primary/Secondary Family Sims - according to my own Aspiration calculator. Who would have thought it, given that their parents are Romance/Pleasure/Fortune Sims!)

So, the first free weekend they get, they all head out together to Sanditon, where they're meeting their grandparents, Frederick and Anne, for a family bowling trip.

(It was just fortuitous that they happened to be there at the same time, but let's pretend it was by design. 😉)

Matthew is determined to show those pins who's the boss. (At last I've found a hair that suits him - he was a real challenge!)

Anne and Frederick are having a great afternoon too. (I'm not sure that Jonathan - in the background - ever got his turn.)

Oops - looks like someone was having such a good time that they neglected their bathroom needs. To be honest, I have no sympathy for his embarrassment - not after he mocked Cecilia's efforts earlier!

Meanwhile, Frank and Sister Agnes are going head to head.

Matthew's efforts to get to know Georgia are a little clumsy, to say the least.

Yeah, I think I'd have the same expression if I'd been manhandled like that by a Sim I hardly know! (I think she looks so much like her dad Samuel.)

And look who else is here - it's runaway kitty Dolly! Still exerting her independence.

Matthew also grabs the opportunity to say hi to his dad Walter, when he happens to walk past. (He literally ran outside to greet him.) But sadly, Walter doesn't seem to have much interest in getting more involved in his older kids' lives. His focus now is entirely on his new family.

Willow Creek Residents + their problems:

1. The Crumplebottoms: This is my take on TS3 Agnes and giving her the life she wishes she had. In this version, her husband is alive and they were able to have kids.

 2. The Pancakes: Bob finally reached his limit with Eliza and demanded a separation, which ultimately turned into a divorce. The kids took it better than he thought, and they both chose to live with him over their mother. Bob owns his own Pizzeria and him and the kids are very well off!

3. The Ali Sisters:***TW: CHILD LOSS ------------- Nala's daughter suffered a tragic accident that resulted in her death. Nala [top right] was rightfully devastated and lost herself for months, Her sister Ada moved in with her recently to keep an eye on her and make sure she is coping and healing properly. Grief is something you never get over, especially when it's your own child, but we all need love, acceptance and support at our worst. Nala is so greatful for Ada, even if she can't express that right now.

4. The Browns: Robert and Matilda's daughter, Alicia, got involved with a man she shouldnt have, and got pregnant. Alicia moved back in with her parents and all seemed well until Jana was born. Alicia got into dr*gs and alcohol and started neglecting her parental responsibilities. After a while, Robert and Matilda had to prioritize Jana's wellbeing and kicked Alicia out, on the condition that if she gets the help she needs, she is welcome to come back home and attempt a relationship with Jana.

5. The Stclairs: ***TW: HOMOPHOBIA ------------- almost the perfect family. Unfortunately, there's something splitting up this household. Little Ava [bottom middle] has recently told her family that she likes girls, and it divided the whole family. It took a while, but eventually everyone came around...except for her mom [top right], who spends most time crying, screaming and starting arguments, and praying her daughters' "disability" goes away on its own. What's making tension worse? There's a rumor that Ava apparently has a little girlfriend, and mom is NOT happy...

6. The Parks: This family has almost no issues, they all love each other very much and little Hana adores her big brother Michael so very much.

The Goth-Crumplebottom Family Wedding, 1927

In the fall of 1927, two of SimCity's oldest families were joined together in holy matrimony with the marriage of Gunther and Cornelia Goth. The union of these two powerful families signify a new era for the clan, with talks of philantrophical endeavors and the development of new towns under the Goth Enterprises and the Crumplebottom Foundation.

The dashing groom, Gunther Goth (27), is a land developer for the family company, while the beautiful bride, Cornelia Crumplebottom (25), is the heiress of the Crumplebottom canned prunes. The event was held in the town of Moonlight Falls, where both families reside.

The colors purple and violet dotted the event whether in the roses that decorated the party or in the outfits of the attendants. The wedding reception was held later that evening, where many of the local families of Moonlight Falls attended as well as SimCity's other influential families, such as the Landgrabbs and the Capps.

At the beginning of the 20th century, a small town that once thrived with many wizards began to decline with the times, and the wizards were gradually disappearing.

The Crumplebottom family moved here.I didn't change Erik Darling's last name because it's too much hassle.lol

Agnes has been makeover to look as close as possible to the original.(Changed the skin, eyebrows and makeup, and made the cheeks a little plumper.)

Now, let's take a look at the interior.

For generations, the Crumplebottom family has had a lineage where the first born child inherited the wizarding title, but when her older sister Cornelia did not take over when she married Gunther, Agnes took over instead.(Headcanon)

Gemma walked Greta to Finchwick Park. She tried to bring the toddler to the park a few hours every week. The heavily pregnant Eva needed the break. Eva was quickly becoming Gemma's closest friend in Henford. She and her family had done so much for Gemma and Markus. Gemma wanted to return the favor where she could.

Cecil's crush on Gemma had dissipated. It was hard to idolize someone buying loo rolls next to you in the grocery store. Plus, he'd seen her come face-to-face with Agnes Crumplebottom. Agnes was the scariest woman Cecil knew. Everyone was either frightened of or respected her. The only exception seemed to be Mak's sister, Roni. Roni was the second scariest woman Cecil knew. Roni would stare Agnes down when Agnes went on a tear.

Last week, Agnes spoke sharply to Greta, causing the tot to burst into tears. Gemma had not flinched or backed down. Instead, Gemma stared Agnes straight in the eye and said something. Cecil wasn't close enough to hear it, but Agnes obviously did. Agnes pursed her lips and stalked off as Gemma comforted Greta. Another time, Cecil had seen Markus say something to Gemma, causing Gemma to whirl around with fiery eyes. Markus just laughed and kissed her. The guy was fucking psycho, it seemed. Cecil was a little nervous around both of them.

Jude watched his children play together peacefully, for once. Sybil and Betty were thick as thieves and typically complained when Giles intruded into their play. Jude noticed Cecil near Gemma and quietly chuckled at the wary look on Cecil's face. Cecil, the most socially awkward man in town, had set a new record for getting over one of his harmless crushes. Luckily, Cecil's wife, Morwenna, found Cecil's extreme awkwardness and silly micro-crushes endearing. Besides, Jude suspected Cecil would drop into a dead faint if anyone other than Morwenna flirted with him.

Jude tore his gaze away from Gemma. She frustrated him. Starting with the moment he caught Gemma in the paddock, he felt connected to and protective of her. Jude didn't have a logical reason why. It was not his place to have these feelings. It was most likely due to Gemma being pregnant and almost falling due to his animals and children. What else could it be?

The hot summer sun cast a warm glow over the privileged patrons of the Sunset Valley Country Club. The Darling sisters, growing like weeds every day, splashed in the pool, blissfully unaware of the silent disapproval of onlookers.

Morgana Wolff gazed with adoration, as the heavily pregnant Agnes Darling basked in the warm rays of the sun. "Goodness Agnes, you're just glowing." She admired.

"Oh, quit it, you!" Agnes scoffed.

"No, I mean it!" Morgana added. "Your complexion looks flawless, and that hair of yours is so shiny and bouncy. Must be those vitamins you've been taking."

Agnes's mind flashed back to a memory of some old wives' tale Bianca Crumplebottom had shared with her the last time the Crumplebottom Sisters paid a visit:

"Blossoming in the bottom of the belly, a daughter spends her time mimicking her mother's actions, and thieving her of her divine beauty. Yet, a son nestled within, enchants his mother with radiant grace."

"Well it's because I'm having a boy, if you believe in nonsense." Agnes replied with an irritable eyeroll.

"That's absurd, darling. You were gorgeous through all your pregnancies." She grinned. Morgana had always been a loyal friend to Agnes, but it was when Agnes was with child, that a particular instinct within Morgana kicked in. She protected Agnes fiercely, especially during the day when Erik was away at work, faithfully concealing her own longing for the maternal bliss Agnes experienced.

Agnes dismissed the old wives' tales as archaic and superstitious. The gender of her child held no importance to her; life had already given her everything she could ever want.

As anticipation grew, Agnes delved into nesting, transforming her makeshift painting studio and home office into a charming little nursery adorned with sunny shades of yellow.

There were various reactions elicited upon announcing the impending arrival of the third Darling child, though the predominant sentiments were ones of joy and support.

...Mostly. With Agnes and Erik dedicating so much of their time to preparing for the new baby, the soon-to-be Darling middle child was left to her own devices, seeking life-long attention from the lurking shadows of her mind...

Crumplebottom/Wolff/Goth/Goddard/Wan

Agnes Crumplebottom and Morgana Wolff held a dinner party at their home. The Goths, which Agnes is related to through her sister Cornelia, got to meet Morgana. Pauline and Hank, Morgana's close friends, got to meet Agnes. Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Some other diners at the bistro. First, it’s Piper’s grandma Kaitlyn Chen (she’s a vampire) sitting with Hanna Hastings. Gameplay wise, they get along okay but storywise I’m gonna say that Hanna was trying to schmooze Kaitlyn, who’s a retired movie star, to come onto Hanging with the Hastings. Kaitlyn’s not a fan of the Hastings family and their obsession with fame and being on camera so she declined.

The next two sims were Agatha Crumplebottom, who looked really pretty and fit in so well with the bistro decor in her yellow dress and pearls. She was joined by her sister Agnes and they talked as they waited for their order. The last three sims I took photos of were the Ward family. Famed movie star Judith Ward, her husband and famous producer and director Hamza Ward, and their son Pat Ward.

Let's Talk About Lily

You know, I've done headcanons about Lilith and Caleb, but I haven't really done any about Lily. Let's fix that, shall we?

Lily was born to Artesia's sister, Leila. She and Lilith were both named in honor of their grandmother, Lillian.

Leila had struggled for many years with infertility, before she finally gave birth to Lily. She never had any more children, however.

Lily grew up in the Foundry Cove area of Willow Creek, a few blocks away from where her cousins lived. Her parents weren't as well-off as her aunt and uncle, but at the same time, they always had enough. Their mothers spent a lot of time together, as they were fairly close in age and had shared a bedroom growing up, so they were always close. (They also felt like they had a lot of "catching up" to do after the time Artesia was trapped as a "paint slave" in someone's basement.)

Like her cousins, and like many Sims in Willow Creek at the time, she was raised as a Worshipper of the Watcher. Sundays always entailed meeting up with Uncle Edward and Aunt Artesia for worship service, and then going to their house for dinner.

She loves tea, and her favorite thing to do as a child was have tea parties with her cousins and her favorite toys, Blarfy the Bear and Mrs. Meowness. When Leila passed away, Lily inherited her favorite tea set.

When she was a teen, she noticed Lilith going down a dark path, out of rebellion against Edward. That troubled her; she was afraid her cousin would get in trouble...not only with her parents, but with the angry and vengeful Watcher they were always warned about. Unlike Lilith, Lily did her level best to stay on (what she was told was) the straight and narrow. She never drank, never smoked pot (she does now, but only to soothe age-related aches and pains), never got a tattoo, never "messed around" with boys, never flirted with men old enough to be her father, never sassed her parents, never snuck out to parties, never stole lipstick from the drugstore, never played with Ouija boards or tarot cards.

She had moved to Henford-On-Bagley in the interim between the loss of her parents, and her turning into a werewolf. She had always wanted to live there; Willow Creek was nice, but she longed for that quiet cottage life in the Bramblewood.

As a young girl, she found the Sylvan Glade, and took her cousins there.

Lily was always pressured to get married to a man and have kids of her own, but she is a demisexual lesbian. She didn't have a relationship (or a woohoo) with another woman until after her parents, and her aunt and uncle, passed away. She met someone at the Gnome's Arms (she doesn't drink, but they have excellent cottage pie), and soon enough, they were engaged. That relationship didn't survive her becoming a werewolf, and since being a werewolf with uncontrolled fury makes relationships hard, she hasn't been involved with anyone long-term since. She watched her former fiancee get married to someone else right at the location their wedding was supposed to be. (At the time, she couldn't commiserate with Agnes Crumplebottom, as she was still married to her now-ex-husband, Roberto.)

Despite feeling unwelcome in Willow Creek, she visits her parents' graves at night frequently. Sometimes, she even sleeps in the graveyard, curled up by her mother's headstone.

She had been helping to care for Caleb in the aftermath of The Incident With Miss Hell, and had picked up a "vampire" scent that most other Sims cannot perceive. Which is why Greg attacked her unprovoked while she was hiding from Vlad. She saw Vlad for who he really was, but was unable to warn her cousin about him.

After she became a werewolf, she met with her cousins for tea, but she was in fury mode, as it was a full moon. Everything was bothering her, including that "vampire" smell they now had. The last straw was when Caleb cleared the table, but took the dishes up to the upstairs bathroom. She transformed with a terrifying howl, and chased her two cousins, the only family she had left, and the people she loved the most away, and her mother's tea set was destroyed in the process. When she turned back into a "normal" human the next morning, she regretted it like nothing else. She tried to apologize to them, but by that time, they had left Willow Creek and moved to Forgotten Hollow, and she couldn't bring herself to step foot in there. She eventually met Kristopher Volkov and joined his werewolf cult pack in Moonwood Mill, after he showed her how to lean into her gardening skill and control her fury. She also took the Immortal Wolf ability, in the hopes of eventually reuniting with her cousins, but by the time she was able to do so, she was already an Elder.

The Bertram Family Album: Volume XII

Theophilus, stop stalking your dad and step-mum while they're having a romantic moment, and go and find something else to do!

Theophilus takes my advice, and the next day - a Saturday - hits the town with best pal Alexander.

And then things take a rather unexpectedly romantic turn (chaperoned by Sister Agnes Crumplebottom)...

Their Watcher eventually remembers that there's no ACR controller on this community lot...

...and that Theophilus is never going to get that first kiss he craves unless the boys are given a nudge in the right direction.

Teenage romance safely underway, it's then time to hit the mall, where sensible, almost-middle-aged couple Clara and Daniel are acting very suspiciously. Townie Sarah McCarthy has the decency to look the other way...

...but not so Sister Agnes!

She's not going to tolerate that kind of licentiousness on her watch!

Meanwhile, there's gaming to be done...

...when the grown-ups don't hog the machines!

Zelie: ‘Cause we couldn’t say the right prayer.

Poppy: But that’s not fair! How are people who aren’t Catholic supposed to know what to say if they want any candy?

Father Jim: Hi there. I’m Father Jim, the pastor of this church. Is something the matter here?

Poppy: Well…yeah. The candy booth lady made my sister cry. She wouldn’t give her anything just because she didn’t know the words to some prayer. And I don’t think that’s right, since Miss Taylor told me this festival is for everybody, even people who aren't Catholics.

Father Jim: I’m sorry to hear that. You're right -- everybody's welcome here, including people who aren't part of our church. That shouldn't have happened, and if your sister wants some candy, she's more than welcome to it.

Father Jim: Deacon Alan? I hate to trouble you while you’re here with your family, but—

Alan: Oh, it's no trouble at all. How can I help?

Father Jim: Would you go fill in for Agnes Crumplebottom at the candy booth? Her heart's in the right place, but I think there are other parts of the festival where her talents might be put to better use.

Alan: …Completely understood, Father. I'll head that way.

Poppy: Um…can I ask one more question, please?

Father Jim: Of course you can!

Poppy: Why are you wearing that hat? I’ve never seen a priest dressed like that before.

Father Jim: Well, I certainly don’t wear it every day! But since wearing costumes is part of the festival, I thought I should have a little something special.

Poppy: And it’s not, like…unholy or something?

Father Jim: Not at all! Everybody needs a bit of fun sometimes. After all, even Jesus worked his first miracle at a party!

Agnes Crumplebottom VS Don Lothario!

It’s finally arrived. The battle of all battles. The showdown against the ultimate romantic and the ultimate anti-romantic. Only one will make it to round two…

Agnes Crumplebottom is the most iconic baddies in the Sims franchise. She was widowed young, losing her husband Erik Darling, who drowned during their honeymoon. They were planning on having children, and had begun to decorate a nursery in their home. However Erik died too soon, leaving Agnes heartbroken with a half-finished nursery. The loss of her husband turned her bitter, and she came to resent any displays of affection. She made it her mission to berate any loved up couples nearby, by absolutely annihilating them with her handbag.

Don Lothario is the womaniser of the Sims. He is in a relationship with four women at once. He is in love with both of the Caliente sisters, Nina and Dina. His other lovers include Cassandra Goth (who he becomes engaged to) and Kaylynn Langarak, a maid. He is also involved in the messy disappearance of Bella Goth. She was last seen at Don Lothario’s house, and rejected his attempt to make out with her. It is said Bella visited Don to welcome him to the neighbourhood, and was never seen again…

I'm designing some period accurate costumes for Gunther and Cornelia Goth's wedding in 1927 and wow, Cornelia has a lot of female relatives. Here, her sister Agnes and her cousins Agatha and Beatrice are her bridesmaids, while her eldest cousin Elmira keeps a watchful eye on Belinda and Bianca.

Since the recent retcon of Robert Crumplebottom being Agnes' second husband rather than having anything to do with Mrs. Crumplebottom, I now have to figure out her relation to the Crumplebottom family. I'm guessing she's in Cornelia's generation, but younger, since she's alive in TS2?

Omg since you don't know sims 3 lore lemme tell you the REAL story of Anges Crumplebottom ie the most understood sim in the sims franchise im. Its revealed in the sims 3 that Anges is Cornelia's sister making her Mortimer's aunt. Agnes was married to the love of her life Erik Darling she didn't even get the chance to change her last name cause Erik drowned on their honeymoon. The two were planning on trying for a baby once they got back from their honeymoon and even had an unfinished nursery in their home. The pain of losing her soulmate and never having the chance to have children morphed her into hating love and all happy couples which is why she attacks anyone performing pda because she is a bitter old lady near the end of her life dreaming of what could have been if Erik ever drowned.

That is so tragic but a really interesting, well-composed story to explain her in-game autonomous behavior. Good for the Sims team, they really do have it in them to create interesting premades!

I watched a Plumbella video a few years ago on Agnes I think, so I remembered the part about her husband dying but I must have blocked out the unfinished nursery in their house because that is heartbreaking (and a lovely attention to detail that just... doesn't ever happen in TS4 builds. I mean, some houses have back decks with no door leading out to them 🤦‍♀️). Also, had no idea she was related to Mortimer!!! That's the kind of storytelling and lore I am praying for when a new world drops. Give me tragedy, give me backstory, give me trauma, give me connections!!!! I love opportunities to create resolution for these pixels, give us something to work with! 😭
