hi my beloved, how do you feel about writing Bay!Hot Rod pining LIKE CRAZY over some random groundskeeper at Sir Burton’s manor?? mansion? estate? whateva it is
Hello Love, I think this is amazing. You know I LOVE HOT ROD. He always got the brain going burrrrrr burrrrrrr. Anyways, I hope this is what youre looking for, Enjoy :)
Pairings: Bayverse!Hot Rod x GN!Human!Reader
Warnings: google translated french, french
Ma chérie / Mon chéri - My dear or My darling
Mon beau - My beautiful
Ma moitié - My other half
The sickening summer heat of Europe, your gardening hat placed on your head and the fall straps dangled on either of your head. The hand trowel layed on the ground next to you as your hands scooped the soil around the bottom of the plant. This was the 4 fourth flower you were planeting in this location, each time the planet would either disappear, get stepped on, or die and sometimes you would watch it happen. The large man was not watching where he was walking and stepping on the delicate flower. It was irritating, so irritating after this flower you weren’t going to plant another one here. If it went missing or died, you’ll dig it up and cover the hole.
And that's exactly what you did, the hole now covered, so if that large man was to step on it there would be no flower to kill. You stood up, grabbed your tools and went to the back of the manor. Your “To Do” list seemed to be getting smaller and smaller, as the only things left were the large hedges and a few more things done to the back yard, but this time, you’ll have company.
“How are you doing today!”
The french accent was waived thickly into the question, something you couldn’t get enough of. You tilted your head back, trying to see the bot's face past the brim of your sun hat.
“I'm gardening, can’t ask for anything else.”
A smile on your face as you as your hands go to rest on your hips, your gardening gloves causing your hands to sweat.
“The garden looks magnificent, do keep up the good work Ma chérie / Mon chéri.”
You laughed, looking down at the ground and kicking dirt around. Your french was spotty, only knowing the basics and the occasional pet names used between lovers. Although you have learned a lot more French with Hot Rod being around more often, that's bound to happen when your closest friend is a French space robot.
“Thank you Hot Rod.”
You bent down and snipped off one of the roses you were tending to, one being snipped won’t hurt anything, and handed it to him. His large digits gently take it from your hand.
“For you, Mon beau.”
You attempted to speak a little french back, but you already know you butchered it. He let out a light chuckle, as he pretended to smell the rose.
“Merci,”
He practically whispered it, optics staring into your small frame peaking up at him. You were lost, eyes tracing over every line of metal and dip in his face plating. The contrast between the bright orange plating, deep gray metals and the sometimes carbon fiber panels, and those bright cerulean rings. They were breathtaking, hell he was breathtaking, a whole other kind species, yet he stood here flirting with you, the silly gardener. Your thoughts and staring was broken when you heard someone yelling. Sir Edmund Burton, his little to no white hair, fancy suit and cane as he waved a hand while calling for Hot Rod.
“Ma moitié, I must get going! Please keep up your great work and do take care of yourself.”
He ran off, yelling back at Sir Burton about something. You simply smiled, watching as his large frame got smaller or disappeared. What a different kind of bot, but you wouldn’t change anything about him.

if you've been around for very long you've probably heard me ramble about the transformers soundtracks. they're what made me watch the movies in the first place and by god if the movies were as good as the music they would be absolutely phenomenal. but alas. I'm sure jablonsky has more work outside the transformers franchise but I haven't expanded my reach beyond them just yet.
the all spark (transformers)
optimus (transformers)
bumblebee (transformers)
arrival to earth (transformers)
sam on the roof (transformers)

NEST (transformers: revenge of the fallen)

i'm moving to england (the amazing spider-man 2)
i chose you (the amazing spider-man 2)
the rest of my life (the amazing spider-man 2)
no place like home (the amazing spider-man 2)
and as a nice lead-in to the next composer, here's a choral piece from zimmer that I really like: aurora (peaceful choir: new sound of choral music)
eric whitacre
one of these is not like the others <3 whitacre doesn't do movie soundtracks, because he's largely a choral composer who creates pieces for choir groups to perform. his work is very special to me out of everything else on this list because I've performed a lot of it onstage, and they all hold very special places in my heart because of the memories I have practicing and performing those pieces with my choir that was practically family to me <3 he uses cluster chords in his music a lot, which basically means the notes clash together in a very specific way to create the most gorgeous overtones and atmosphere and it's just oughghghghghghghh <333
lux aurumque (light and gold)
five hebrew love songs: temuna (a picture) (light and gold)
five hebrew love songs: larov (mostly) (light and gold)
the seal lullaby (light and gold)

Item one: Love the art. I really do, especially "The Meeting on the Turret Stairs".
Item two: I almost always want to know titles and artists. I was familiar with a couple of these, but mostly not. So I go googling. (Okay, very little actual Google, but the concept is accurate.) And looking into background of these pieces, I think "Love between knights and women in pre-raphaelism" is a rather, uh, odd label, to me.
Left to right, top to bottom (the same way you're reading this):
"La Belle Dame sans Merci" - Frank Dicksee, circa 1901. A fairy woman who gets mortal men to fall in love with her, and then they die of unrequited love - not romantic. The title means "The Beautiful Woman without PIty".
"The Dedication" - Edmund Blair Leighton, 1908
"Britomart and Amoret" - Mary F. Raphael, 1898. The knight is actually a woman in disguise, from Spenser's "Faerie Queene", Book IV, Canto I. Not romantic, at least not between the people in the painting.
"La Belle Dame sans Merci" - John William Waterhouse, 1893. Again, he's going to die of unrequited love.
"The Meeting on the Turret Stairs" (aka "Hellelil and Hildebrand, the Meeting on the Turret Stairs") - Frederic William Burton, 1864. Tragic love story. He dies by violence, she dies of a broken heart.
"Lamia and the Soldier" - John William Waterhouse, 1905 (his first version). She might very well bewitch and/or eat him - not romantic.
"Parting of Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere" - Julia Margaret Cameron, albumen silver print (staged photo), 1874. My least favorite Arthurian thing - adultery is not romantic. Whoever decided to add that story to the tales needs to be subjected to the Sad Face of Extreme Disappointment.
Either "La Belle Dame sans Merci" by Marc Fishman, 1998 (so not pre-Raphaelite), or "Farewells" by John William Waterhouse. Haven't been able to find reliable information. If it's the modern guy, it's not Pre-Raphaelite. (Tangent about classical vs. Classical music...must resist...)
Usually I like to cite sources, but sometimes I'm A Bit of An Idiot. Like now. But with artists and titles, these are all (except no. 8, it seems) easily looked up if anyone cares.
Here's a link about Pre-Raphaelites; I haven't studied the movement in ages, so I am not a good source. https://www.britannica.com/art/Pre-Raphaelite-Brotherhood
Anybody that knows more about art history (or has studied the Pre-Raphaelite movement more recently than *cough* 20+ years ago), corrections are most welcome.
Oh! I almost forgot the poetry! La Belle Dame sans Merci: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44475/la-belle-dame-sans-merci-a-ballad; Britomart and Amoret summary here: https://msuweb.montclair.edu/~furrg/el1/fq-summary.html; Hellelil and Hildebrand summary: https://www.nationalgallery.ie/art-and-artists/highlights-collection/hellelil-and-hildebrand-meeting-turret-stairs-frederic, and the poem: https://victorianweb.org/authors/morris/poems/50.html (from https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/3468).

- Isabela Merced as Izabella

Synopsis:
"Transformers: The Last Knight," directed by Michael Bay, is the fifth installment in the Transformers film series. The movie explores the hidden history of the Transformers on Earth and delves into a battle that could determine the fate of both human and robotic civilizations.
Summary:
"Transformers: The Last Knight" takes the franchise in an ambitious direction, combining elements of history, mythology, and science fiction. The story unfolds as the world faces a new threat—the impending arrival of Cybertron, the home planet of the Transformers. To save Earth, the Autobots and humans must unravel the secrets of the past.
Cade Yeager, portrayed by Mark Wahlberg, returns as a key figure in the conflict. Alongside a new group of allies, including the brilliant Oxford professor Viviane Wembley, played by Laura Haddock, and the enigmatic Sir Edmund Burton, portrayed by Anthony Hopkins, Cade embarks on a global quest to locate an artifact that holds the key to saving humanity.
As the Transformers' history is unveiled and ancient myths are brought to light, the line between hero and villain becomes blurred. Optimus Prime, the noble leader of the Autobots, is manipulated by a mysterious force and turns against his human allies. The stakes are raised as Cade and his team must not only prevent the destruction of Earth but also find a way to bring back their fallen leader.
"Transformers: The Last Knight" delivers the trademark Michael Bay spectacle with explosive action sequences and stunning visual effects. The film showcases massive battles, from epic clashes between giant transforming robots to intense confrontations between humans and their alien counterparts. The CGI work seamlessly integrates with live-action elements, providing an immersive cinematic experience.
Mark Wahlberg brings his trademark charisma to the role of Cade Yeager, showcasing a mix of determination, resourcefulness, and loyalty. Laura Haddock delivers a strong performance as Viviane Wembley, displaying intelligence and courage in the face of danger. Anthony Hopkins adds gravitas to the film with his portrayal of Sir Edmund Burton, bringing depth and intrigue to his enigmatic character.
The voice performances of Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime and Frank Welker as Megatron continue to impress, providing emotional depth and power to their iconic characters. The supporting cast, including Josh Duhamel as Colonel Lennox and Isabela Merced as Izabella, contributes to the film's dynamic ensemble, adding both comedic and dramatic moments.
While "Transformers: The Last Knight" received mixed reviews, the film caters to fans of the franchise by expanding the mythology and offering a visually stunning experience. It combines thrilling action, compelling characters, and a sense of adventure as it sets the stage for future conflicts.
In conclusion, "Transformers: The Last Knight" provides an ambitious and action-packed continuation of the Transformers saga. With its engaging story, impressive visual effects, and strong performances, the film offers an entertaining and immersive experience that keeps audiences invested in the fate of humanity and the heroic Autobots.

i cant articulate it well right now becuase it's 4am and im exhausted but this is keeping me up so here you go There's on point in TLK where Cade asks why he was chosen as this knight and Viviane starts listing off all the qualities of knighthood and then adds, as an embarrassing or shameful though at the end, that one of thkse qualities is chasteness. Chastity. Whatever you want to call it and then she and Edmund have a little laugh over Cade's embarrassment at not having sex in a while and it just? makes me so uncomfortable?? like first of all, using the knights of the round table as an example since they were so important, you at the very least have Lancelot and Guinevere fuckimg behind King Arthur's back, so the veritable pinnacle of Knighthood is clearly not all that chaste then I'm pretty sure at least two other knights are fucking each other (percival, i think, and one other, i can't remember)(also dependant on interpretation) In King Arthur's charge to his knights, he never mentions chastity. At one point he mentions abstinence, but whether he means it as sexual abstinence or sobriety is unclear. Again, I feel that's up to interpretation. but i digress, my main point is that Cade has not been sexually active since he a) lost his... fiance? and b) went into hiding with a bunch of alien robots. Whether or not this celibacy was intentional, its really not that funny to make a joke of. The poor man's been through hell and back, he doesnt deserve this backhanded compliment/mocking. Plus the joke was just in poor taste all together(but what else did I expect from Bay?) The whole scene just left me feeling uncomfortable and even Cogman's little Phantom-esque interruptions couldnt make it funny.

Abandon all hope, ye who enter here.
Transformers: The Last Knight is a contender for the worst film of the Transformers film series. The film introduces several plot threads that could potentially be interesting but chooses to do nothing with the majority of them. Because of this, the film's plotting is disjointed, difficult to follow, and impossible to settle into as the film repeatedly leaves the audience in the dust. What plot threads are permitted to be resolved are completely anticlimactic. Many character do nothing or fulfill roles that could have been fulfilled by other characters. The film also focuses mainly on the human characters, with the Transformers themselves either serving as comic relief or simple not appearing onscreen to give the humans more screen time. There are several scenes that make no sense, and the film is bogged down with pointless cameos from characters from previous films in the series and an excess of uninteresting and confusing exposition. In addition, the series continues to be insulting in its treatment of women. Female characters act in illogical ways, and the film features what may be a cleavage shot from a fourteen-year-old character. Not a single aspect of this movie is worth sitting through the entire film to see. Film goers should definitely give this one a skip.

idk but by reading some of these articles it makes me wonder if people were actually paying attention???
Fact One: Sir Edmund Burton is the last living brother of the Order of the Witwiccans, an Order Sam Witwicky's family was either a part of or descended from(they're not clear on that point)(also not counting Simmons half-assed induction)
Fact Two: One does not need to be a Witwicky/Witwiccan to be a member of the Order - as is proven by the many non-Witwicky's on display
Fact Three: Vivian Wembly is the last direct descendant of Merlin(major emphasis on direct)
(Apparent) General Assumption: Sam must be dead.
Sam is a Witwicky, and yes his picture is included in the... idk what to call it; "family line" room? What they fail to explain is whether or not he was an actual member of the order, or just included because of relation. They also never said whether he was related to Merlin.
Clans are made up of more than one singular family line. Clans have many definitions, but based off of the fact that this particular clan was began during Merlin's time, it wouldn't be weird to assume that its this version: a close-knit group of inter-related families. As in; more that one line. Generaly, married accross lines. But still, more than a single bloodline.
I am, through blood relation, a member of the Gunn Clan of Scottland: a clan made up of no less than a dozen families.
Point being, just because Sir Edmund is the last member of the Order, and Vivian is the last direct descendant of Merlin, does not a dead Sam make.
And until they come out and straight-up say it, I refuse to accept the theory.

beloved by toni morrison (black horror, gothic horror, historical fiction)
what’s it about?: sethe, a runaway slave woman living in exile from her community, deals with grief, trauma and loss alongside her daughter, denver, and her mysterious house guest, beloved. that is all i can say without spoiling the whole thing!
why i love it; it’s about the grief, it’s about violence and blood as a form of love, it’s about paul d looking at sethe’s back and seeing the beauty in her horrible scars, and it’s about sethe accepting that she’s her own best thing
trigger warnings: rape, violence, slavery, anti-blackness
pride & prejudice by jane austen ( classics, romance )
what’s it about; a man of means must be in want of a wife ... mr. bingley is rich and mrs. bennet wants HER daughter to marry him, but like, so does everyone else, but mr. bingley has this annoying, stuck up friend, mr. darcy, and elizabeth bennet (lizzie, as everyone knows her) does NOT like him, but yes she does. also, there’s a lot of social prejudices, like someone with only two servants is poor and weird and uncouth, and someone with a manor is the best, EVEN if he’s been known to disgrace fair ladies 😳 and it’s all complex and interesting to read
why i recommend it; it’s thee original romantic comedy, and while i get annoyed when people water down these classic plots to ‘blah blah blah short thing’, that’s literally the best way to describe it. and yes, there are tender moments, yes, there are hand-clench moments, but there’s also a lot of interesting moments that go into the social politics of the time!
sir gawain & the green knight, as translated by Burton Raffel (classics, poetry, epic fiction)
what’s it about; so imagine you’re having a christmas party, and some weird guy says ‘hey! cut off my head!’ so you do it, and then he stands back up and goes, ‘cool! in a year’s time, i’ll return the favor’, and now you have to go on an epic quest that tests your honor and chivalry and religion. also this guy is green.
why i recommend it; a) because dev patel movie, and b) it’s such an incredible piece of fiction. i read the burton raffel version, but i’ve been eyeing the j.r.r. tolkien version ... you just have to choose which one’s right for you, or! read all the versions until you settle on a favorite!
watership down by richard adams
what’s it about; the rabbits have a complex society. but, more in depth, fiver (the runt of den) sees a human-made sign and has a vision of the rabbit warren being destroyed but ALSO a vision of this promised land...watership down ... there’s power struggles, there’s two (2) rabbit cults, and so many moments that made me want to lay face down in the grass
why i recommend it; fiver is cassandra, a doomed and cursed prophet, and hazel is the chosen one with too much weight on his shoulders...there are so many moments of shock and brutality that are balanced by goodness, by love and friendship and kinship ... the rabbits befriend a bird ... prince with a thousand enemies, when they catch you, they’ll kill you...but first they must catch you
housekeeping by marilyanne robinson (domestic fiction)
what’s it about; after their mother commits suicide, two sisters go to live in a mountain town with their grandmother. when their grandmother passes, their aunt (a drifter) comes to take care of them. it’s about the family relationships, it’s about sibling bonds, it’s questioning what does it mean to be a mother? what does it mean to be a social outcast?
why i recommend it; a young lesbian grows super attached to her lesbian drifter aunt...i don’t know what else you want me to say, it’s so incredibly touching
red dragon by thomas harris
what’s it about; retired fbi profiler will graham is pulled back into the dark world of criminal investigation, and must work with hannibal lecter to catch francis dolerhyde, “the tooth fairy”
why i recommend it; it’s nothing like that show, so like ... dash that out of your head. it’s superior to the show, it surpasses the show. if you want gay shit, you will get gay shit, but the real power of this story is like, the depravity. it’s about will breaking inside because he has to bring his wife and step-child into this world, it’s about will having the potential for great violence and doing nothing with it, it’s about hannibal lecter being a full-on bitch 24/7 and coaxing/teasing that cruelty out of people for FUNSIES, it’s amazing, it’s delicious.
trigger warnings: extreme violence, mentions of cannibalism
no more descriptions underneath the cut for now! i’ll come back to this post when I have the energy! or, you can ask me specifically about the books i’ve recommended.
