Don't worry I agree with you. The fact that Adrien becomes friends with him anyway is what annoys me the most because that means stalkerish tendencies (from anyone including Marinette) doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things until the writers say so. Great.
Obsessive folks, especially young ones that haven’t really figured out regulation yet, deserve second chances and all that but like. AFTER they fix their boundary issues.

Oh hey look sans! Anonbot made you a new outfit. It actually kinda looks like "quantumtale" san's outfit. You don't really need to know who he is. Just know he is a good guy that can travel between timelines and universes. And from the way it looks you and Papy are generally happy in that universe too.
“hey, any universe where my bro and i are together and happy is good with me.”
[Sans pulls on the outfit, then admires himself in the mirror.]
“niiiiice.”
“BROTHER, WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?”
“my new outfit.”
“DID AN INTERNET PERSON GIVE IT TO YOU?”
“yup.”
“HMM. IT LOOKS … INTERESTING.”
“it looks awesome.”

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruce Wayne sighed heavily, he could feel a telltale headache coming from miles away. His personal assistant had given him a letter of notice and he had now just figured out how dependent he is on his assistant. Fortunately, he managed to beg, yes he had to beg, his assistant to wait until he could find someone to replace them.
Not to mention the death of his son, Jason, had hit him hard. He admits that he was too late but really what can he do? He wants to kill the Joker but that would mean going against his code. And killing the Joker wouldn't bring Jason back, no matter how much he wanted to bring him back.
Now, he has another son that somehow found out his identity and actually picked up the pieces and demands he takes the kid as the new Robin. Bruce is slowly moving on but the thought of his dead son is still a heartache that he wasn't sure would heal. Dick is trying his best but even he knows that the boy is falling apart.
He sighed heavily, he was tired and lost. Everything constant in his life is changing, slowly but surely and he is not ready. His head began to pound and he tried to soothe it by massaging the bridge of his nose.
His headache came again at the same time his phone rang and that almost made him whine. He picked up the call and cleared his throat. "This is Bruce Wayne speaking."
"Bruce darling! How are you on this fine evening?"
"Audrey...Why did you call?"
"Such coldness from you! Is Brucie Wayne a fake all this time? I'm hurt!"
Bruce groaned out, his head pounding like crazy, "I don't have time for this, Audrey. My assistant gave me their letter of notice days ago and I haven't found a replacement yet. If you have, Oh I don't know, a perfectly reliable assistant laying around in your office then I suggest we end this call because I am this close to breaking my phone for the tenth time."
She laughed at his misery. He could feel his eye twitch.
"I'm hanging up." Why he became friends with Audrey Bourgeois was always one of the many questions he has in his life. Somehow, the bossy blonde decided in Highschool that she would be friends with Bruce and she had stuck to that promise ever since. Honestly, Bruce has learned to not question the way of the universe.
"Wait!" She snorts and finally took a deep breath to compose herself.
"I might have answers for your predicament! My apprentice/assistant/secretary is looking for a new mentor! One that could teach her the ways of a big business should operate! Perhaps, I can introduce you to her!" She offered between her giggles.
Bruce frowned, to be completely honest he had done many interviews and none of the candidates is the perfect assistant that could replace them, he had nothing to lose. "I'm interested."
"Good, I'll schedule a dinner for the three of us at some point during your gala week."
"I hope you're not pranking me again. I had enough grievances lately that'll last a while."
Audrey laughed again at his misery. Why was he friends with this designer again? Right, she ordered him to be one.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marinette made sure that everything had been acquainted before she and Audrey leave Paris for the Wayne Gala. She made sure that the Secretaries of every division in the company know what was going to happen when she was gone for the week.
Fortunately for her, everyone in Style Queen respects her and her decision-making skills. How could they not? She was one of the reasons why Style Queen had been advancing at rapid speed during those 3 years when she became a permanent team member.
No messed up meetings, their profit margin had increased, their designs were always at the top of the chart, their galas were always a hit, and their fashion show had become one of the most awaited fashion shows in years, and to top it all off there has been zero firing and quitting during those 3 years. They didn't even need to pay for extra therapists for the emotional damage caused by Audrey!
A miracle? Yes. A blessing from the Gods? Definitely. Is Marinette the Messiah that the Style Queen company had been waiting for? Most Definitely.
Did the Style Queen employees made a cult to worship the ground that Marinette walks on? Allegedly.
Anyways, after confirming the things that needed to be done she called for a staff assembly and hand them folders as well as pdf files in USB about their schedule for the next week. She made sure that if anything happened in the company while she was away to immediately contact her.
Now, she stood in front of Audrey while listing off the things that should be done during their week in Gotham.
"Right Mme Bourgeois. our agenda during our week in Gotham is as follows, Monday, we'll check on our branch in Gotham, I also book that dinner with M Wayne at 7 p.m. Tuesday, we have a photoshoot in Gotham Garden, I also made sure to up the security in case the rogues decided to attack and a failsafe location outside Gotham so that we can continue our shoot peacefully.
Tuesday night will be your fitting for your gown and we will be doing that in your room. Wednesday will be reserved fully for the progress report with our company. Thursday will be reserved for the Wayne family fitting as well which will be done in the afternoon. I made sure to clear Friday and Saturday morning to afternoon. Saturday night is the gala and Sunday we will board the plane to Paris." Marinette finished while rechecking the schedule on her tablet.
"Fabulous! I know I can always count on you Marinette!" Audrey clapped her perfectly manicured hands and winked at her secretary.
"Of course, Are there any problems that you would like to point out from the schedule?"
"Non," Audrey answered nonchalantly. "So, Marinette. Have you made up your mind about what I said days ago?"
Marinette puts away her tablet and fixed the pink-rimmed horse kwami glasses that she decides to take today to match her outfit. "Actually, I did. You are right Madame, I need to spread my wings and take a leap of faith."
"Excellent! You will be coming to the dinner on Monday, yes?"
"I- Yes, you did order me to attend the dinner with M Wayne."
"Good! Now, have the rest of the day off! I shall see you tomorrow evening, yes?"
Marinette blinked slowly, "Yes, Madame. Uh... thank you." She bowed shortly and left the office without another word. She could actually feel that Audrey was planning something behind her back and she doesn't want to know what her plans were.
Well, a whole afternoon off, is a rare thing to occur. "Should I spend the rest of the day holed up in my apartment sketching or holed up in my regular cafe sketching?" She asked Kaalki who was hiding in her breast pocket.
"Why not take a stroll in the park? The weather is great today, Guardian!"
"An astounding idea! Let's go!" She cheered and made a brisk walk to her office. She packed up her things, say a few goodbyes to the staff that she met along the way, and left the building. She quickly made her way to a cafe nearby, bought herself a coffee strong enough that she was sure it could raise a dead body and walked to the park that Kaalki had mentioned.
There was an open seat near the park's walking trek and immediately bee-lined her way there, took out her sketchbook, and let the horse kwami make a comfortable perch on her lap. As the Great Guardian, she had managed to find the right spell to mask the kwami's presence with a layered illusion, even a former holder couldn't spot them since Marinette willed it so.
"So, Grand Guardian...Who is this Wayne person?"
Marinette hummed for a moment, trying to find the right answer. "Well, he's a businessman, he owns a multibillion company called the Wayne Enterprise, it has many branches across the world and they have many divisions as well, though none of them focuses on fashion. Which is unfortunate but I digress." She explained patiently.
"Whoaa, is he rich then??" Kaalki gushed excitedly.
"Well, he is a millionaire think he's going to be a billionaire soon. So yeah, I think you can call him rich."
The aristocratic kwami gasped loudly, "You should have him as your mentor! You could be a millionaire too!"
Marinette laughed merrily, "I don't think that's how it works but I'll consider that."
"Oh Guardian, I can already sense it! It must be fate! Perhaps you can even marry the man!"
The designer was drinking her coffee and spitting it out when she heard the kwami's excited ramble. She coughed a few times trying to regain her composure, "K-kaalki, that man is old enough to be my father! Besides, he has kids already!"
"What about his kids then?"
"A- K-kaalki! You will stay out of my romantic life! I-i can find a suitable person to date!"
Kaalki gave her a deadpanned look, "Yeah, uh-huh sure you do."
"Kaalkiii!!!" Marinette whined exasperatedly. "Can we please stop this conversation??"
The kwami just giggled and made themselves comfortable on her lap. Marinette huffed and rubbed her face tiredly, yeah she knows that her love life had been a disaster but she didn't need the little creature gods to butt in. She's perfectly fine on her own, sure it's lonely but if she has work to do it distracts her from feeling that loneliness.
Honestly, dating one of the Wayne kids. That's a laugh!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marinette sighed as she rolled her neck and heard a few pops from it. Traveling to Gotham is a pain in the ass and she hopes she doesn't have to do it again anytime soon. She had brought a couple of kwamis with her for the trip, not that she wanted to use them to gallop across the roof of Gotham City as a hero or vigilante, she just didn't want to leave them at home alone.
She was wearing the dragon's choker, Tikki's earrings, and the turtle's bracelet that she had charmed to change the designs so that it'll fit with her outfit. Wayzz gave her a wave of comforting magic towards their bond and Marinette stroked the bracelet gently in gratitude.
Thankfully, everything went smoothly. Marinette made sure the hotel room for Audrey is good enough for the bossy queen and after that she could finally throw herself on her hotel bed. Her head was pounding but she still picked herself up and began to unpack.
"Marinette! This town is oozing with an unlucky aura and chaos! I think Kaalki was on to something when she said something about fate!" Exclaimed Tikki as she observes the city through the glass.
"I told you!" Kaalki yelled from the other side of the room.
Marinette frowns to herself and decided to flare her magic to get a better sense of the City of Crime. Yep, Tikki was right, everything is oozing with bad luck miasma, and darkness surrounding parts of the city. Everything is gloomy and depressing, no wonder the people of Gotham are miserable.
"You're right, Tikki." She stood from the floor and walked to the big window overseeing the city. "It's coated with Bad Luck and Chaos."
"We should stay here and purify this mess!" Pollen offered while floating next to Marinette's head.
"I don't think we should be that rash. Let's see what fate got for us. In the meantime, does anyone wants to go with me to buy snacks?"
A series of 'yes' from the childish gods made her head lighter than before.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monday starts out as a pleasant day for her, she managed to make all the snacks for the kwamis and bake the pastries that Audrey love so much for breakfast. Everything was smooth and it lifted Marinette's spirit. There was no schedule for today morning and Marinette debated to herself if she wants to go out and find inspiration for her design or not.
There's something about Gotham that made her blood pump in adrenaline and she's pretty sure it is her innate guardian magic telling her to go ahead and purify the city. She looked at the kwamis who are lounging and made up her mind.
"Hey Plagg, Do you want to come with me and explore Gotham before dinner?"
The cat kwami in question brighten up and zoomed across the room in excitement. "Alright!!! Let's enjoy the day with extra CHAOS!"
Marinette laughs and took off Tikki's earrings to put on Plagg's ring. She took her large canvas bag, her sketchbook, and her art supply. She made sure the kwamis are comfortable enough and told them to not make a mess when she was out.
Once she's out, with Plagg securely in her bag, she trusted her instinct and found herself entering a park. It was a nice day and looking around at the different architecture near the park she found herself an empty seat nearby. She lets Plagg perch himself on her shoulder while she dug out her sketchbook and start sketching away her ideas.
Not long after that she felt someone took a seat next to her, she glanced to her side and found a man nearing his 40s slumping next to her. She could feel the sorrow and sadness lingering around the man and Marinette being Marinette couldn't sit still.
Marinette could've sworn the man looked familiar and even though she became a very competent assistant to Audrey, she couldn't for the love of God remember the faces she had seen before. If they are known figures in the fashion world, she might recognize them but otherwise, she would forget them, rich or not.
The girl closed her sketchbook, which the man took notice of.
"I'm sorry, I'm not bothering you, am I?" He asked with a polite smile.
The girl shook her head and smiled warmly at the man, "Non, monsieur. I just couldn't help but notice how sad you are."
The man blinked, obviously shocked at her, and gave her a small weak smile. "I guess you can say that..." He chuckled mirthlessly.
Marinette hummed, "Are you grieving?" She asked quietly.
The man looked towards the park and she could see the dark aura around him seemingly trying to choke the man. He nodded silently and took a shaky breath. "My son." He muttered quietly.
She nodded in silence, she rummaged through her canvas bag and took out a charmed amulet that she had been working on with Master Fu before his passing. She looked away from the amulet and found Plagg giving her an encouraging smile. She knew that this was the right thing to do and so she cupped the amulet in her hands and said, "I'm sorry for your loss...No parents should bury their children."
The man sniffed and nodded, "Thank you."
"Though you have to walk this winding road, stumbling blindly in this dark path, there will always be a path of light that will help you find your way." She advised with a warm smile. Master Fu had told her that when she was grieving for the loss of her friendship and the weight she had to carry as Ladybug.
Slowly she reached out to take his hand and gently put the charmed amulet in it. "You just need to do the next right thing." She uttered softly and sent waves of comforting magic to the amulet. Hoping that it would lift the man's spirit and help him find hope. She then took her bag and left the man staring at the amulet.
Marinette quickly left the park and bought herself a coffee before returning to her hotel where she gets ready for dinner. Her heart felt full knowing she helped someone even if it was just a little bit. She hoped that one act of random kindness could lift a little bit of the bad luck aura in Gotham.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bruce Wayne just wanted time to compose himself. He had a lapse of grieving thoughts when he looked at Jason's picture. So he left his office to find a place where he could grieve freely. The mansion still has memories of Jason and he couldn't stand the guilt that is eating him inside. He found a nearby park and took a seat next to a young woman who was busy sketching. He didn't really expect anything would come out of this walk in the park, but he was pleasantly surprised that the young woman beside him had given him a random act of kindness that had left him a bit speechless.
He was looking at the emerald amulet on his hand and somehow he felt lighter than he ever felt in the past few months. Odd. He decided to bench any negative thoughts to ready himself for the dinner reservation tonight.

Demon’s Queen
Prologue:
Marinette fought with all of her might. She didn’t know who these people were or what they wanted with her. All she knew was that they knew about her Miraculous and that they were trying to take her away.
She had transformed with multiple of the Miraculous, using all of their powers in the most strategic of ways she could with what she was provided, but she had never realized that there was someone else watching her from the shadows. Observing, strategizing, scheming how to use her wits against her.
It was sudden, it felt almost random really, which was why it threw her off so much. He knew she didn’t do well against seemingly random attacks, and that’s how he knew his interference would be so effective as he was able to quickly pin her. His fingers were quick, removing the jewelry with practiced ease. She felt as the magic faded away from her body, the protections completely disappearing with the jewels the new player now held in his grasp. Marinette struggled, twisting away, and flailing in any way she could that could grant her any leeway she could use to create some sort of opening. But despite her attempts, none ever came. In the end, she was left exhausted and defenseless, forced to stare at the face of a boy that looked around her age.
“A fierce warrior. You hold much potential, yet you use it for such simple means. I have studied you, and I am still trying to understand why you do not make the people who are beneath you bow at your feet. You should be seen as a ruler.”
He whispered in her ear as he traced the side of her face with his fingers. Marinette glared up at the boy and spat, shocking him out of his stupor.
“I do not care for power. I do what’s right because it’s right.”
The boy’s brow crinkled for only a second before smoothing out into a stoic expression.
“I see. That doesn’t matter though, I will make sure that you will receive the respect you deserve.”
And before she could say another word, there was a sharp prick in her neck.
“No…”
She whispered before her world blurred together, slowly fading to black.

To answer your first question. Yes i was first. So HA!!
To answer the follow up. Tom, and in correlation Sabine, are suffering (to a lesser extent) from what I like to call "Absent/Oblivious Parent Syndrome".
Their not as bad as, let's say, the parents in Fairly Odd Parents or Family Guy, but the fact that Miraculous Ladybug has a huge portion in the Western Animation section of the Adults are Useless TVTropes page should be telling.
There's even a section for deconstruction fics, aka SALT!!! What else do I have to say?
Unless explained fully in canon, they are at best ignorant of her social interests and personal issues (emotional and physical) and at worst deliberately neglectful until it personally affects them.
And I refuse to accept "the miraculous did it" as an excuse. If they wanted to pull that card, they should have introduced the concept AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SERIES WHEN TIKKI WAS EXPLAINING IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF BEING A MIRACULOUS HOLDER!!! Fu is also on my shitlist for this reason but I don't think we need an excuse to be mad at him by now do we?
Oh yeah I’ve seen similar criticisms before
There’s some more to touch on but that’s for another time

For the Tim was the only one that Batman didn't choose to be Robin myth. From my fandom research, started with a throwaway line by Bruce or Tim during the slander Jason era. Couldn't even confirm it was a batman book. After that it's typical fandom history apparently.
Fandom really does love to hone into some weird irrelevant things like that's definitely not true anymore and as I pointed out wasn't really true at the time but I guess anything to make tim seem more special then he actually is
#ask#Sinoffalsejudgement#i do think its funny that basically tim steph and damian became robin in the same way#they all just showed up wearing the robin outfit#and bruce was just like okay i guess#people get so mad at how damian became robin#when he did the same thing tim did#like sure damian did the warrior thing of fighting your predecessor first#but he also won that fight sooo#i think he deserved the robin outfit actually

I'm honestly pretty dissatisfied with this direct. The book designs were what I wanted. I was lied to and I don't like it. The designs in the book were like a perfect fusion, it would have been so good. And it doesn't help that as much as I love the shiny roc tutel, the other reveals to me were pretty lackluster. I'm willing to give Majora's Mask a try though. Looks like a scrunckly little dude.
I preferred those designs too and it does leave me scratching my head as to why they didn’t include them, but perhaps they are intended to serve another purpose? Like maybe a Kyurem-like fusion where they can fuse with others of their kind that will be released at another date. It’s still early in SV’s lifespan—it’s not even a year old yet—so I wouldn’t go so far as to say they ‘lied’ to us. I just kinda wonder what the point of those designs are and I’m gonna wait until more stuff is announced.
The designs are solid though, none of them grab me or anything but they are cool and creative. The idea of paradox Pokémon is still very fun.

The gala is in a full swing—already too lively for Marinette's taste. She's grown too tired from sipping on her refreshments and staring at the rich people singing faux praises and other people of the press trying to curry favor with them. Her cheeks ache from forcefully polite smiles, and her feet throb from her heels.
A man approaches her: a reporter, no doubt. Neatly groomed and airing out confidence.
"Miss Wayne." He grins. "Or shall I say MDC? Jamison Bowen, Gotham Gazette."
Marinette raises her eyebrows. "Pleased to make your acquaintance."
"No, it is all my pleasure." He shakes his head. "I never imagined meeting the famous fashion designer who rocked the entire world. It must be a busy life for you."
"It is." She keeps her tone lively but words brief. Anything she says might end up in headline print after all.
"But it must be easy, you know, being a Wayne and all that." He laughs, looking towards Bruce Wayne in his 'Brucie' element while entertaining some of the guests. "You are truly lucky, Miss."
Marinette lowers her glass. "I'm sorry? What is that supposed to mean?"
"Oh, I just thought that you are fortunate enough to be bear one of the most important names in the business world and have that help you in nurturing your talent—"
"I have been designing and taking commissions since I was thirteen, Monsieur. Even before I came to live with my father. Before I knew he was my father. I can list off a few names who can vouch for me." Marinette clenches her jaw.
Jamison pales and visibly backtracks. "Right, right, I'm aware of that, yes. I only meant that—that—your father must be really proud of you. Among all his children . . ."
"His children?"
"Yes." He wears a tight smile. "With his first ward always absent, his second having strange rumors about him, and the third! The third can't quite act like a proper CEO with his childish antics. And that quiet girl, and violent boy, and is it true that Bruce was just forced to adopt that last one?"
Marinette is a hair's breadth away from breaking her glass with her bare hands. She's used to the rumors surrounding her, but hearing the insults about her family makes her want to strangle this man.
He laughs again. "Oh well, but what to expect? That's Bruce Wayne after all. Eccentric billionaire with eccentric children. Except you, of course."
Her hands clench and shake as she averts her eyes. Don't cause a scene. Not here, Mari. It'll only bring trouble.
"It's astounding that you ever qualified as a journalist," a new voice chimes in.
"Mi—Miss Lane." The reporter does a double take. "It's an honor—"
"You dared to criticize the Wayne family in front of Marinette herself. You're a dead man walking, Bowen," Lois says icily.
"But—but I was just—" he sputters.
"I suggest you leave before I have you fired myself."
That does the trick. He scurries away pitifully, in search of another socialite to prey on.
The tension leaves from Marinette's shoulders. "Thank you, auntie," she sighs in relief. "I'm sorry, I—I don't normally get riled up by these things and—and I know my siblings couldn't care less about what others think of them but . . ."
"It's okay, sweetie." Lois puts a hand on her shoulder. "If it were me, I would've socked him straight on the face already."
A familiar bespectacled man joins them, bringing drinks for himself and Lois. "And if it were me, I would've launched him straight to space. You handled that well, Marinette."
"Dad's better at . . . Pretending," Marinette mumbles.
Clark snorts. "Not all of us can be Brucie."
"It's okay to get angry, especially from that," Lois reassures, "Your siblings and father would've felt the same."
Marinette tucks a hair behind her ear. "Do you guys have work tonight or . . .?"
"We can join you for the rest of the night," Lois offers, smiling softly.

Anonbot just downloaded a new upgrade sans. Looks like it can now create model galaxies, supernovas and can examine the effects of black holes and its reactions on dark matter. I think it wants to show you an example. It also found a couple anti-gravity belts with leashes in its mother drive compactor.
[Sans is practically drooling at this point.]
“OOOOH, THAT SOUNDS REALLY PRETTY! SANS SHOWED ME PICTURES OF SOME OF HIS SPACE STUFF AND IT LOOKS REALLY NICE, AND THAT’S JUST IN BOOKS! I BET THIS WOULD BE EVEN PRETTIER!”
“I agree. I would love to see these!”
[Sans is clearly interested, but can’t form words. When the models of various astronomical phenomena begin, his eyelights get almost as wide as his sockets, his smile entirely genuine. Papyrus squeals and claps. Toriel watches on with soft, appreciative eyes.]
“The world really is a lovely place, isn’t it?”
“UH-HUH!”
“mm …”

<Beginning>
Bruce walked to the restaurant that Audrey and he agreed on and was led to a seat where he found his old friend waving at him with her signature mischievous smile. Audrey Bourgeois stood up and opened her arms, "Brucie darling! How fabulous it is that you could finally join us!" she crooned and gave him a hug.
The hug wasn't uncomfortable, in fact, it was a familiar hug that he had somewhat missed. He pulls away and gave her a charming smile "A pleasure as always Audrey, how's your daughter, and how's Andre?"
"Chloe-bee is as spectacular as ever and you know how Andre is, still running Paris as a Mayor should." She paused and her smile turned somber. "I heard about your loss, I'm so sorry, Brucie."
Bruce smiled weakly, "I'll manage. I met someone today that gave me hope."
"Good." Audrey nodded with a sniff "Now! I want to introduce you to my darling apprentice! Oh, you are going to love her, Brucie!" Then she turns around to reveal a girl who was looking at him like she had seen a ghost.
That's when he noticed that the girl was the same young woman who gave him the amulet at the park. "I'd like to introduce you to my darling apprentice! Bruce Wayne, meet Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Marinette darling, this is Brucie Wayne!"
The girl in question, who had been staring at him without his notice trying to override her shock of actually meeting Bruce Wayne at the park, stood up and held out her hand. "I-it's nice to meet you again, Sir! Oh merde, I hope I wasn't too nosey back then! Merde, you must think I'm some kind of lunatic preaching to you like that! I-it wasn't my attention!" She rambled on her apology.
The businessman chuckled and cupped her hand gently, "No, you don't need to apologize. I'm the one who should thank you."
"M-m-m-me??? T-thank m-me?? What for?" She stuttered.
"For giving me hope. It's not often that I could find a reason to hope in Gotham. But somehow you did, young lady." He said with a gentle smile to which Marinette replied with a bright smile of her own.
"You two have met before?" Audrey interrupted with a curious gleam in her eyes.
"Yes, a coincidence actually. I went to the park to get my head off...things and I met this young lady who was minding her own business. She gave me an amulet of sorts that somehow lifted my spirits."
"Ah, the famous Marinette Amulette. She made me one as well and the precious thing helped me mend my relationship with my Chloe-bee. You struck once again, Marinette." Audrey winked at her protege and the girl squeaked in embarrassment.
"Truly?" Bruce quirked up an eyebrow and looked at Marinette.
"I-it was nothing! I-i didn't make yours M Wayne! I-it was pure coincidence I assure you! The one that I gave you was from my mentor!"
Bruce's eyes widened, "Would you like it back?"
"Non! It's okay, I'm sure you need it more than I do." Marinette refused with a sweet smile.
"Always helping others, that's my Marinette!" Audrey bragged proudly and Marinette's face became even redder. "Anyways! Shall we start dining? I have a lot of things I want to brag about my precious protege!"
Bruce chuckled, "Well, I'm all ears."
With that, they all took their seats and began the meal course. Audrey bragged about how Marinette skillfully managed all the divisions in Style Queen, how the company profits had been increasing exponentially, and how Style Queen's latest fashion line as well as their fashion show became a hot topic in the fashion industry, she also bragged about how her employees worship the ground Marinette walks on, and how she handled rude clients as well as pushy investor.
Every accomplishment that Audrey proudly states made Marinette turns redder and redder. Bruce was a bit worried if the girl would combust anytime soon.
"The best of all, she is a great martial artist! Oh, I do not need extra bodyguards when I have to go outside or on the red carpet! Marinette has all the package and has soaked up all of my teachings about the fashion world! I am sure that this little girl will go on and have a huge fashion business!"
"I-i'm sure you are just over-exaggerating, Audrey! I still have much to learn! I still have little grasp of business management for large companies. Not that your company isn't large Audrey! B-but I wanted to build a company that will engage in different divisions! Not only fashion, perhaps in technology as well, and the food business!"
Audrey smiled warmly at Marinette and Bruce take notice of how soft it was. Audrey must really love the girl to be able to garner a such a smile.
"So, you want to build an empire?" state the owner of Wayne Enterprise.
Marinette looked at him with wide eyes, "E-empire?? N-noo, I-i could never! That would take time and connections! Big connections that I don't have at the moment!"
"Which you could start now. I'm sure there will be an opportunity coming to you soon." Bruce said with a secretive smile. He glanced at Audrey and the woman had a smug look on her face. Bruce sighed in defeat. "You were right, Audrey. She's going to places."
"Of course! I don't remember the last time I have been wrong!" Audrey boasted and took a sip of her wine.
Marinette decided that all of these compliments are getting her light-headed so she excused herself from the table to go to the restroom.
"So? What did I tell you? Isn't she amazing?" Audrey gushed happily. "Marinette has been a blessing to me and I'm sure she will be to you too."
"Perhaps," He shrugged "I'm going to ask her for her portfolio and resume-"
"Already way ahead of you, Brucie. I have sent you an email with an attachment! I was a bit concerned to let her go, however, if she passes your interview. I know I can rest easy knowing that someone fair is going to take care of my protege." The Style Queen lamented as she took another sip of her wine.
"When do you think would be the perfect time to interview her? I know that your schedule is packed for the week?"
"Perhaps on Thursday? I can send her to you in the morning and in the afternoon I shall be there for the fitting for your family as well."
"Perfect." He agreed easily and texted his assistant about the change of schedule. Almost immediately Marinette joins them again and all discussion about her stopped as they enjoyed their respective dinner.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marinette threw herself on her hotel bed and reflect on what had happened today. Her first day in Gotham and she had accidentally met Bruce Wayne at the park, console the grieving man as if she knows what was going on in his life which she doesn't, met the guy again at dinner which sent her into an apology frenzy and somehow blabbed out her dreams of becoming a businesswoman!
She groaned pathetically and start hitting herself with a pillow. Plagg and Trixx looked at each other and sighed exasperatedly. Their guardian is having one of those mental breakdowns, she usually does that only this time it's for a questionable reason.
"Guardian, I think you are overreacting," said Trixx as he floats next to her head. "It's not as bad as it seems."
"I made a fool of myself, Trixx. How am I not overreacting?" Marinette muffled underneath the pillow.
"Kitten, I don't think you made a fool of yourself." Plagg countered with a snark.
Marinette moved the pillow to glare at the kwami of destruction, "Plagg, I met the man earlier in the park and failed to notice who he was! Then I made the brilliant move to spout some wisdom shit to him as if I know how he felt! After that, I completely rambled on about my dreams of having my own business! I probably sound like a fool to him!"
Plagg sighed heavily and floated above Marinette's face. "Pigtails, you gave him the advice that Fu did when you lost your friends. Sure it doesn't seem like the same context but doesn't tell me that advice didn't help you during Fu's passing. You said it yourself, you're doing the next right thing and that right thing just so happens to be giving a grieving man a piece of advice.
The man even thanked you for giving him hope! Plus, not knowing who he was and treating him as a normal man who was grieving the loss of his son is probably something that he needs! No judgments or snarky comments whatsoever. Then, the dinner thing.
The man seemed very interested in your dreams, pigtail. He doesn't sound condescending and instead he was genuinely interested in your ideas. Personally, that's not a mess up, kid."
Marinette had sat herself up upon listening to Plagg's speech, her eyes had started to water and she had been looking at Plagg in gratitude. She sniffed as the first teardrop falls to her pillow. "You really think so?"
"Yes, kit! I was there in your purse too, remember? Now you got two eyewitnesses, so no beating yourself up!" Trixx joined and floated next to Plagg.
Marinette sniffled as tears started to rain down her cheeks.
"Oh, Marinette..." Tikki's voice popped up and gave the girl a hug. The other kwamis started to show up as well and they all gave Marinette a hug of their own.
"Thank you." She whispered in a small voice. Plagg scoffed and gave her a light kiss on her cheek.
"Marinette, you're our true guardian, our true champion, and lastly you are ours to protect, ours love, ours to cherish. We'll be there to tell you when you mess up and we'll be there to help you pick up the pieces when you break down. Never forget about that." Tikki promised.
Marinette felt better after hearing her beloved kwami's encouraging words. "So...do you think I made a good impression?"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
On Tuesday morning, just like what she had scheduled Marinette and Audrey went to the scheduled shoot at Gotham Garden. Everything was kind of hectic and Marinette was this close to ripping out her hair out of pure stress. If another bad thing happens, she was sure to snap.
They were in the middle of a shoot when something did happen. The Riddler made an appearance and Marinette was not happy. While the Gothamites had made themselves scarce like it was rehearsed, Marinette was not taking any of it.
"What is this?!" She yelled in anger, she felt Duusu's magic flowing from the peacock brooch on her chest, fueling her anger as a result.
"I do not consent to get our photoshoot ruined by some fashion disaster!" She screamed as she manhandled the closest goon and threw them into a pond nearby. "I was having a bad day and this-this connard decided to make things even worse! Non! I do not consent! I do not need it!" She screeched angrily as she breaks one of the goons' arms.
The main villain's jaw dropped, who wouldn't? A petite Chinese-french woman just throws a man twice her size and she doesn't look like she's stopping any soon! The Riddler quickly hid his shock and played his role as a villain.
"Well well well, a brave woman is she? Now, I am here to test people's intelligence, that's all. No harm done, right?"
"Non! You will leave at once! When you have a better sense of style you can come back again. I mean what are you wearing?! It. Is. A. Mess!" Marinette growled as she flipped another goon that tries to tackle her. When she finally stands in front of the Riddler she had already manhandled 4 goons out of her way and it looks like Riddler is next.
"Ah-" "ferme ta gueulei! You do not get to speak! Not in this situation, oh no monsieur!" She interrupts harshly and pulls down the ridiculously garish purple tie.
"If you do not get your ridiculous-looking bowler hat out of here, I will strip off your clothes, shred it all, and have you sent to Arkham naked! Do you understand me?!" She snarled and glared at the Riddler.
"Are you threatening me, little girl?"
Marinette snapped.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Batman arrived to find a half-naked hog-tied Riddler, his tied-up goons, and the french young girl he had met yesterday laughing maniacally while happily ripping part of what seems to be the Riddler's clothes.
"What's the situa- what the hell," Nightwing whispered dumbly next to him. "I-is that Riddler? Hog-tied with his own tie?"
"I believe it is..." Batman answered equally in shock. He was watching Marinette warily as she throws pieces of the Riddler's clothing onto the burning pile. She was even humming a happy tune while doing so! Batman was speechless.
As he and Nightwing watched the girl, Audrey Bourgeois decided to make herself known. "Ah, Monsieur Batman! Lovely of you to finally clean this mess. I'm sure you can handle the GCPD, oui?"
Batman cleared his throat, "Yes, of course, Madame. May I ask what happened?"
"The fashion disaster just crashed into our photoshoot and my already stressed out assistant is taking none of his...what do you Americans say it? Ah, bullshit."
"I-is she always like this?" Nightwing asked in concern.
"Non...Well sometimes. The shoot was not running as smoothly as she would've liked and the fashion disaster just came at the wrong place at the wrong time." Audrey explained as she watches Marinette rip apart the last piece of the Riddler clothes.
Marinette then skipped to the Riddler happily, "Now! What have you learned today?" She chippers with a bright smile.
The Riddler flinched, "U-uh n-not to w-wear too m-many symbols?"
"Good! What else?"
"B-bowler hats a-are a fashion no." "And?"
"U-uh..." He faltered, face paling as he tries to find the answer. Marinette frowned and puts her hand on her waist while staring down menacingly at the rogue.
"Find your hue." Marinette spelled out patiently. The Riddler nodded shakily and gave her a small smile.
"R-right! F-find m-my hue." He agreed franticly.
"Good! If you want more fashion tips, just search for MDC and I'm sure they will help!" She clapped excitedly and turns around to find new audiences who were looking at her with various types of amusement. "Bonjour, are you taking the walking disaster to Arkham?" She asked sweetly.
Batman and Nightwing looked at each other as if having a silent discussion before the older of the two nodded at the young designer.
"Excellent. I've made sure he and his accomplices are tied up nicely. I am pretty good with my knots! Can we resume our photoshoot while we wait for the GCPD to come?"
"Uhhhh..." Nightwing looked at Batman for help. Batman was speechless but quickly hid his astonishment with a cough.
"Perhaps, a break? I'm sure the other would appreciate it."
Marinette squeaked and turned around to see the Gothamite models all looking at her in awe but still trembling after witnessing the ordeal.
"Merde, Je suis desole! Take five everybody! I think we have warm tea ready for this kind of situation. Make sure everybody stays calm and well rested, yes?" She ordered with an apologetic bow. "I am so sorry you have to experience that!"
The group of models looked at each other before giving her cheers and shouts of excitement. "Ma'am, you were awesome!" "So cool!" "A Badass!" "The Riddler got his ass handed to him! YEAH!"
Marinette jolts and hid her face behind her hands in embarrassment. "J-just take five!" She whimpered and turned to see Nightwing eyeing her in amusement. She blushed even more under his gaze and meekly stepped behind Audrey. "I'm just going to be quiet now." She laughed awkwardly.
The GCPD eventually came and was surprised and couldn't even begin to describe what they felt when they got a hold of the situation. The Riddler was shaking like a leaf, paling whenever the small assistant made a pointed glare at him, and the goons were no better. They were begging, yes begging, to be arrested immediately.
Commissioner Gordon walked to Batman and Nightwing who were standing with two women. "What the hell happened, Batman?" He gritted out when he saw the whimpering state of the Riddler. The vigilantes both share a look before Batman decided to give him an answer.
"The young woman should be able to answer that question, Jim." He said and nodded over to a small young lady with blue-black hair, large round blue eyes, and fair white skin. Is she one of Bruce's?
The girl in question meeped and made confusing noises while her cheeks began to redden and spread to her ears. Nightwing and the other lady burst out laughing next to Batman while the Bat just sighed tiredly at his hand.
"Ah, did I say that out loud? Pardon me, miss."
Marinette tried to smile but it looked a tad awkward, "I-it's fine, and no, I-i'm not a Wayne." She answered politely. Gordon clears his throat and starts questioning the young woman and she tried to explain to her best capabilities.
Honestly, he was shocked and confused. The Commissioner looked at Batman and the vigilante only gave him a nod, as if agreeing to the whole story.
"Thank you for the statement, miss. I hope this doesn't happen again in a near future." He nodded politely and went off to interrogate the other eyewitnesses as well. After he had collected all the statements, cementing the facts that the petite woman did handle the Riddler and his goons single-handedly he left transferring the criminals to Arkham to the other officers. Batman left the scene deciding to escort the entourage back to Arkham while Nightwing stayed back to make sure everything is settled.
Nightwing wasn't quite sure about his opinion regarding the petite girl in front of him. In a glimpse, the girl doesn't look like she could throw men twice her size or have the guts to scream at a supervillain. Either she was brave or a complete idiot, and he wasn't sure which category the girl falls in.
She looks like she couldn't hurt a fly but apparently, that wasn't it! Nightwing continues to watch the girl as she fumbles around, even tripping a few times over nothing, trying to make sure that the models and staff she's working with are okay. That girl is an enigma and Nightwing, doesn't know how to feel about it.
After he was sure that everything would be fine when he left, he went back to the cave. He pushed away any lingering thoughts about the girl, it's not like he was going to meet her again, anyways.

Is Wayhem white?
Um not really. He shares a similar issue with Pegasus/Rena where he appears white in certain scenes/situations but is intended to be a person of color based on how he looks in more neutral environments and lighting. They just don't commit to it, change it for no reason or don't correct the lighting to accommodate his 3D model.
I’m sorry I’m not having the Lila’s Ethnicity Debate 2.0
He’s ambiguous but mostly white-passing so I’m sticking to that

Chengs have deep ancient ties to the Order and their lineage has been searching for clues as to what happened.
Found out about Fu and took notice of Miraculi being used at various points since.
At first were tempted to brute force the retrieval but decided to remain patient and see if Fu would willingly redeem himself.
As time passed they noticed he was constantly running away from the problems, never really making an attempt to fix it unless absolutely neccessary.
At some point they (Sabine's Parents) decided something needed to change. The Miraculi have been static and progress needed to be made.
Once Fu moved to Paris and seemed content to stay, the Cheng Parents created a circumstance (negatively or positively for Sabine will determine the tone of familial relations and interactions) where Sabine would feel compelled to move to Paris.
Everything happens as expected with Sabine and Tom, but Sabine has an innate understanding that her family is not only abnormal but has some sort of connection with powerful and dangerous people. (This being part of why she leaves is optional)
So when the Miraculi (peacock and butterfly) activate not only do the Chengs and Fu sense it, but Sabine feels something is off as well.
[Sabine being knowledgeable about the Miraculi and their purpose but not taught anything else/Sabine not only being knowledgable but also being involved in the plan (therefore involving Marinette without her knowledge)/Sabine only having bare bones understanding that her family is involved in powers and "magic"/Sabine having some understanding of powers and the Miraculi but wanting nothing to do with it] are all options to take with Sabine and I suggest another poll.
When Marinette starts to act evasive about things, not only school but her personal activities, weird purchases and visits to an old man she never met before, she finally bites the bullet and informs her parents of what she suspects is happening. (This is going off the "Sabine has some understanding but wanted nothing to do with it" story path but can be changed to adapt to whatever storyline the Cheng family is going to have as long as the Chengs are informed by Sabine at some point)
Anything after this point must be dictated by 2 main things.
The grandparents relationship with Sabine and in turn Marinette as a family or as blood.
The grandparents attitudes on the Kwami/Miraculi, their purpose, how they should be treated, how involved they should be with the greater world, if they are members of the order or simply close allies/blood descendants of the founders/blood descendants of past holders, etc.
Apologies for this long as post, but Marinette's lack of connection to anything of her Asian roots has been infuriating since Kung Food and Shanghai. Do with this as you wish, I've needed an outlet for a bit.
Oh no don’t apologize these are all very fascinating prompts, the possibilities are endless!
I suppose Sabine’s (and her sister’s) involvement would depend on how old they were when the Cheng parents “died” and how much influence they had thereafter. Personally, I like to imagine Sabine and her sister were being trained to one day fulfill whatever role the Cheng parents had (finally, a watsonian reason for Sabine being Like That that isn’t just her ethnicity) but they weren’t told what that role would be before something happened and the parents had to fake their death and leave the sisters behind. It’s also fun for me to imagine the now adult Cheng sisters looking back on their childhood and going “well that was weird” and lamenting how the answers supposedly died with their parents.
