Solomon stops searching whatever spell he was looking for, all his attention now on the three words you spilled out of nowhere. With his back turned to you, he takes a minute to compose himself and get rid of the flush on his face before turning to you with a sweet but mischieveous smile. Solomon tackles you to the ground before peppering kisses all over your face, repeating the words back in the middle of your laughter.

⊹˚.⋆ Simeon

You didn't think Simeon's smile could get more angelic but the smile that spreads on his face as you say the words is almost blinding, in the best way possible. He takes your hand, holding it as it were fragile as glass before pressing a soft kiss to your palm, eyes locked into yours. Rubbing absent-minded but soothing patterns on your wrists, he repeats the "I love you" with the gentlest voice.

⊹˚.⋆ Barbatos

Barbatos knew you were going to say it even before you knew but it still didn't make his heart beat any less faster as it was now hearing those affection laced words from you. Pulling you into him, chests barely touching, he lays a kiss on your forehead so light you couldn't nearly feel it. Whispering the words back to you, Barbatos voice drips with so much sincererity and love, you think think you might just melt into a puddle right there.

Well I am still working on it and it will be more of a compilation of multiple stories. When the first part is ready, i will post it.

So, me and my mom got real drunk together and we ended up having an honest heart to heart conversation and long story short I have until january to get my shits together before risking being kicked out, which seems fair to me. Also, I really, really pissed her off by saying that I would rather kill myself than try to go back to my maths classes but it's cool, I'm learning what are the limits, at least we're trying to communicate as mature, adult people, it’s all cool

I agree that people should give those in mourning practical gifts (the aforementioned food, money for bills or utilities, offers of free childcare) and always try to do so. Both for the reasons mentioned above, and because sometimes the stereotypical "thoughtful" gifts themselves become a burden.

I've witnessed so many families stress over what to do with all those plants. People having to wonder: "Is rude to throw them away?" "Are the plants poisonous for pets or children?" "Does ANYONE want these plants? PLEASE feel free to take one!" "How am I supposed to transport all these plants to my home?"

Especially when multiple gift givers decide it is kinder/more thoughtful/pragmatic to gift actual plants instead of cut flowers. If someone in the grieving family loves plants that could be different. But in a family that doesn't keep them? The plant could become a treasured keepsake, sure, but it could easily Not Become That.

Sometimes people second guess this advice when I give it because they are worried about seeming uncaring for breaking the norm. And I'm sure there is someone out there who would be rude about this- people get weird about social norms. But I have never not had someone tell me with (to my knowledge) complete sincererity that they really, really appreciated the more practical gift. Especially right now during Covid when it is not safe to have pot lucks with leftovers.

Planters are super expensive. Please, please, unless you know the grieving family LOVES flowers, consider using that money and energy to give those in mourning something they actually need. They will remember forever, and it will help tremendously. They will be swimming in ferns, hanging baskets, and planters of cut flowers, trust me

hey since i’m occasionally giving out adult advice. anyone wanna know my very adult and very boring and very sensible suggestion for grief gifts for friends and family when someone close to them dies
